wow! the response to pt.1 was amazing esp considering i dont usually make posts that get a lot of notes, so the 530 notes were currently at at the time of writing this is very much appreciated!! also, instead of editing the pics to make them look like the characters are saying them (ex. removing someone's twitter user and replacing with the character's name), instead i just edit the mercs over the post as best as i can so that the op gets credited! if this reduces the quality/funniness of the posts, i hope you can still enjoy them but crediting the op always comes first. yap session over!! heres pt.2!!!

Although the ships are enjoyable, I really like how little The Marvels focused on romance.

Carol is implied to have a relationship with Valkyrie for 3 seconds and she has an entirely platonic marriage of convenience. That's it. What's important to her are her powers, her friends and enemies and the needs of other people. Carol is lonely, but her loneliness isn't solved by love, her loneliness is solved by making friends and reconnecting with her old ones. Her "great love" is her best friend. When Monica is shown to have grown up from the first movie, they don't give her a husband or a boyfriend for Carol to jokingly threaten to show that she's older. They show that she's matured by telling us that she's an astronaut, that she's "Captain Rambeau", that she has a successful career. Kamala literally has three love interests in her show! It would be easy to have her talk about boys or mention a crush, but she doesn't. Because who would think about their crush when fighting aliens and meeting superheroes?

Dar-Benn is "heartbroken", but not at a relationship, she's heartbroken at the state of her people and planet. Aamir's wife is mentioned once, Fury's wife isn't mentioned at all and Kamala's Ammi and Abbu are more concerned with aliens invading their house and Kamala being teleported into the middle of space as opposed to talking about their relationship.

There's no scene where the trio compare their love interests or bring up "boys" or dating. The banter is just friends goofing around. The movie is one hour and forty minutes of a trio of women fighting aliens together. You can definitely read into things, and you can see romance mentioned, but it's not relevant to the plot. I really liked that.
