I take issue with this idea of Link just "fucking off" and leaving Zelda completely alone before totk. Not even in just a shipping sort of way either, as close friends and him choosing to remain her knight, that makes zero logical sense? It is completely out of character for him?
Link doesn't ever leave Zelda's side. This is canon. "Fucking off" is just not something he does during peace time when he isn't on a heroic quest and being controlled by the player's whims
Tumblr media
That's five times it's stated officially somewhere that he is by her side, and that's only the ones I can immediately recall. Botw's full ending and totk's opening together also show us that. We see them together when the story ends and we see them together when it picks back up in the sequel. At no point is it implied they ever parted.
And can we just remember for a second what happens when he's not there, for even a short amount of time, if she is unable to call upon her abilities and therefore defend herself?:
Tumblr media
"Fucking off" is a fantastic way to get her killed. The Yiga worship Ganon, there is nobody they want dead more (besides Link), than the last living member of the royal family. They are also not opposed at all to going into villages. They snuck into Kakariko to assassinate Dorian's wife. We just don't see that reflected in gameplay.
Some people will say "it's just his job" to deny they even have a friendship or growth as characters, but want him to... not do the main part of that? "It's just his job" and "he fucked off to the wilderness" are simply not compatible ideas. Either you think Link is just a completely duty-bound mindless command robot or you think he completely doesn't care anymore about that to the point of endangering the person he's supposed to protect. It can't be both at the same time.
Thankfully, it's implied by the wording of master works, the cutscenes and the jpn version that he wants to protect and support her. That this is what he desires, even when the king is dead and he is immediately given the option to not do so anymore. That he is motivated by wanting to see her happy and safe. I'm pretty sure the only way to get him to stop trying to protect her or following her is death, and he has already proven that twice over.

I am still baffled by the american line of reasoning that "USA has commited many war crimes in Vietnam/Afganistan/Iraq etc., therefore it would be hypocritical for us to get involved in stopping ukrainian genocide". So you admit that USA has its collective hands covered in blood, and yet your conclusion out of this is not "USA has an opportunity to redeem itself in fighiting in a just war", but "we should allow russia commit war crimes consequence-free" 🤯🤯🤯🤯

Three of them
#fire emblem#feh#DIRECTLY INSPIRED by how sometimes i like to cheat in heroes journey and bring duo al/sharena LMFAOO#two of them and some other guy. idk when it happened it just integrated here.#world is a fuck born to tag along. this applies to BOTH moe and sharena i think.#it is so funny and so important to me actually that 'sometimes there's a third one' applies to both of them#anyways please please PLEASE read into the characterization in the poses bc i'm going to throw up. and cry#like fuck i'll do it for you actually LMFAO like moe is just silly. nosferatu ass. why do you sleep like that.#it doesn't like being touched a whole lot though. it's extremely picky about it. it's easier to hold a stuffed animal instead.#alfonse has a higher tolerance for touch but it's still situational. but when he touches he clings.#also. one hand gripping the plush goat ear. an acknowledgement of moe's boundaries.#and the other hand. lightly subconsciously holding on to a tuft of sharena's hair.#sharena has grown out of being super cuddly w alfonse but she will take any and every opportunity to 'steal body warmth'#she also directly mirrors him.#also i think whenever she shares a bed/sleeping area w someone she's a bed hog. she is pushing you off that thang#if you're not Willing to be smooshed by her. also. which is why alfonse is acting as a barrier here too LMFAO#like it's just a tiny doodle esp cause i didn't have the energy to do more but it made me ache so bad#that i threw up and exploded and died. badly.#fe alfonse#sharena#moe tag#summoner oc#my art

HI I Love your Posts about trollhunters and Danny Phantom.
they are things i gad trollhunters is different form Danny Phantom
Jim only date one girl and everyone agrees that she is the best Choice for him.
and the main creator isn't a Dick.
but my Question for is if Dash were to become Like Steve was Expose the Ghost world Just Like him how do you think would've involved and this Time his memory stays Like Jez did.
Hi, thank you! Before I say anything else I would like to clarify that while I spend a lot of time comparing themes between the two shows, I don't really feel like one could replace the other - they're both so unique in their execution! Honestly, all the characters in both shows have personalities that couldn't be copied over between the two without the status quo of each show drastically changing. I don't really think of Danny Phantom and Trollhunters in terms of "Danny and Jim are the same person," but more like "Danny and Jim experience things that are interesting parallels of each other and I like to explore those narrative parallels," which I can understand being a kind of complicated distinction.
There definitely is a thing with both of these shows where they pick sort of Traditional Character Roles to some extent, like The Bully, The Hero, The Best Friend, The Romantic Interest, etc. So thinking in terms like that, Dash and Steve do fill kind of similar roles in their shows. I am pretty sure that Dash knows ghosts exist by the end of the show, even if you're writing off Phantom Planet (the final episode that people like to ignore happened). There's an episode where all the adults in Amity Park are brainwashed to go on a "cruise" which ends up just being a way for some ghosts to use them as a power source - but because the adults are brainwashed, the kids are the ones that have to save them, and Danny uses his parents' ghost tech to work together with all the other kids to fight the ghosts. This includes Dash. They all fight ghosts on the deck of a pirate ship, and Dash and Danny stand back to back as Dash says, "When I wail on you tomorrow, I'll be wailing on a hero. But I will be wailing on you." At this point in the show, Dash and other people know about and are fans of Danny Phantom... I don't think his memory gets wiped of the incident, but Danny does get in trouble for using the tech without asking and that makes him "lame" again in the eyes of the other high schoolers. I think that's meant to be the show's explanation for why it doesn't get brought up again later.
I'd love to consider what would happen if Dash had actually been more active within the ghost fighting community - I'm pretty sure he's one of those people who thinks it's "weird," so he'd probably need some convincing. But it would be super interesting if he learned that Danny was Phantom and joined the team! I'm not the first person to say this, but still. It would be cool. I did really enjoy in Trollhunters when Steve and Eli had just formed Creepslayerz but they were trying to keep it on the down low, and acted comically to cover their tracks. I imagine Dash would have to do something similar to keep his jock friends in the dark about Danny's secret... In general, DP never really gave us that big of a look into what Dash's life is like outside of school, other than throwing a party when his parents aren't around. If he joined the team in some way we'd be able to see more of his backstory and he'd become a much more fleshed out character!
And I know you didn't ask for my opinion on this, but I do wish that Steve had more development after the end of Trollhunters and 3Below. Like, he stopped bullying Jim and Eli, he got a girlfriend - and now we learn he's really scared all the time! And they make him kind of like a knight in Wizards but he's still like, terrified of everything, and bad at very simple tasks to an almost annoying extent. It makes me wonder if the trio really explained very much to him, because we didn't see any explaining happen on screen... and then it felt like they were hinting that Steve would learn some cool stuff from Lancelot, but that never happened. And WHY didn't Aja WARN HIM that he could become pregnant like that! That was so out of the blue too. I really liked how they had Steve develop as a character over the course of Trollhunters, so when he kind of stopped changing for most of the other TOA content, I was a little sad.
I guess this is just an appreciation post for bully characters that decide to become nicer. They deserve more love, for sure.

Really? An actor puts out the most milquetoast of comments on the Current Thing and all y'all brainlets immediately go into, "REEEEEEE IF YOU'RE NOT WITH US YOU'RE AGAINST US! REEEEEE!" mode and decide to throw a temper tantrum until he's recast?
You're embarrassing. Get off the internet and touch some grass.

It's jetlag-fueled midlife crisis time again, so you get to vote on my next career move! Basically, upward mobility (money wise) is extremely limited if I stay in my country and in my current (non-profit) field. Even if I took on significantly more responsibility, I'd still have to take a substantial pay cut if I applied for any new job in my industry. (Yes, it's a small field, so I literally know all the salaries for all the positions that might open up.)

hi! we dont know each other but ive stumbled upon your posts in which you describe your anxiety brain and borrowing trouble from the future and i can totally relate to that. and it sounds a lot like ocd, which i know i have... idk if this would be helpful
sometimes i do see things about ocd that i relate to. i think a lot of the underlying thought patterns and fears are probably similar. i don't think i respond to them in the way that somebody with ocd does, though -- i don't experience compulsions and don't find any relief from behaving in certain ways or performing certain rituals, i just experience profound dread and physical discomfort until i'm able to forget about the thing that triggered the anxiety or i move on to something else
my sister has ocd, which i only learned recently (we don't live together and aren't super close), but again, although i see overlap between our experiences, i think we respond to those triggers differently and find different things helpful/harmful. obviously everyone is different so that doesn't rule out the possibility that i'd also have it, but i think it makes it less likely
generally i think my issues are largely attributable to generalised anxiety disorder, some kind of brainweirds (not sure if autistic or have adhd or both), and a solid dose of complex trauma that contributes a fair amount of hypervigilance and fear to the proceedings which make standard anxiety tactics less helpful
i think all mental health diagnoses are labels we give to certain groups of symptoms rather than like. firmly grouped Conditions between which there can be no overlap, though. some aspects of anxiety and ocd are very similar, and some are different -- the same stars in different constellations. i think i score more points in the anxiety chart, so that's where i am for now, but doesn't mean i'm not experiencing some of the same things, if that makes sense (and it also doesn't mean that some coping mechanisms designed for one condition won't work just because i don't think i fit under that label -- sometimes they do)

thinking about zam talking about how he doesn't hold grudges and asking whether that's a bad thing and like getting mad at himself about it because the context for this was like. jepex hijinx. but it's so relevant to everything that has happened to him ever. you know how being followed home by pulp is a song about someone's memories of a past relationship and of a separate traumatic event blurring together, and the incredible intensity of emotion in the moment in comparison to the confusion and numbing of memory? please consider this re: eclipse fed. you know what raw data feel is about, just the whole album? i'm in the mood where i can only communicate character analysis through songs just go with it. compare the "whispering wall" in violent sun & jennifer to what the wall said by protomartyr. now listen to same face in a different mirror.

sometimes i'll see a take that's like. i mean technically you're not wrong. but also you've completely stripped this issue off its entire cultural context, so everything you said is irrelevant. you definitely won the argument ig but that won't make any difference in practice sorry

A coworker joked about making a trip to Hawaii today.
"I don't think that's a good idea," I told them.
"In Maui, yeah, but I just wouldn't go there," was their response.
"You do understand that tourism is contributing to what's happening in Maui right now, right? The natives are literally asking us not to go. They're the ones being affected the most by this. I would listen to them."
"Well, most of them aren't even 100% native. When I last visited, most were Filipino and they were hella racist. Besides, history has been twisted in so many ways and the people are so mixed, I wouldn't know who to listen to."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The people that have generations of culture and ancestry there? How hard is that to understand? They're not saying, "don't visit Maui because it's on fire, but other islands are fine. Also, feel free to debate who is native enough, when you're 100% a non-native who isn't willing to consider human lives at the expense of your silly little fun time!"
Also, Asian-Pacific countries are not the main villains. 39% of tourists in 2019 were from the West Coast American states [x] and that statistic has steadily grown in the years since. Claiming another group as racist doesn't make you less so (and I very much side-eye those claims). Yes, it is sad that the native Hawaiian population is dwindling, so wouldn't it be a good idea to give them space to grow again? Instead of slowly ignoring their needs and letting them die out in favor of *checks notes* more white people?
Do we really think the other islands aren't being hurt by this and won't suffer in the future by continuing to treat them like playgrounds? If I am speaking out of turn, feel free to correct me, but if the people who come from a land you don't come from are saying something like "hey, what you're doing is hurting us. Please leave us alone," why is it so hard to comply? What isn't clear? Why can't you listen?
