The smell of her hands,

Her smile,

Her kindness,

Her colourful hijabs,

Her jokes,

Her shyness,

Her warm body,

Her patience,

The soft voice and the light hand taps on my shoulder she used to use to wake me up in the morning as a child,

Her forgiveness after the constant mistakes I make,

Her urge to fill up my always empty fridge,

The calls she makes to see if im doing okay,

Remembering her collecting food scraps around the house so that she could later feed the ducks with it,

Her still being so kind and calm after all the physical and mental abuse she’s been through,

Selling her gold jewelry when I was a child in times of hardship to get by,

Offering her belongings to others to keep,

Her laughing at my bad jokes and dry humour,

Her being my mother.
