I have some lore (?)
(Yes this is why I referenced Alan Wake in the notes thing, I ended up making him an alternate version of Toast):
"I don't remember anything that happened last week. I mean I remember getting a call from Bright Falls regarding a famous author and shadow entities, but I don't remember making the trip over here, what happened when we arrived or the entire week we were here. All I remember was running around in the woods one night and the rest of the team clamoring to find me but that was about it, besides an entity calling itself "the collective" forcing me off the side of a wooded hill (which I rolled down mind you). It could be 1. My narcolepsy, 2. The concussion I sustained that night, 3. An apparent bout of alcohol or other substance use or 4. A combination of factors that brought on this amnesia. Either way, it's not good and I need to figure out what's happening and why."
-Toast (12/6/23: 10 am)
"In regards to Toast's log from this morning, he's right. After we found him near the bottom of that wooded hill, we rushed him to whatever medical professional was around. The doctor did indeed confirm a concussion, which means that Toast will be staying back at the cabin while the 3 of us help the author and his agent. The agent has noted that we should first check for any more scientific explanations, and has permitted us to look at any files that they had on them. I may not trust them, but who said I needed to in order to do my job and help them? Also, we need to look into this "collective" entity that gave Toast the concussion in the first place. If anything else pops up, I'll check back with everyone when I get the chance."
-Ghost (12/6; 5:14 pm)
"Harvey's is a pizza parlor on the outskirts of PMA Square. Jackie Houghs has asked us to investigate during his next shift there, he has the day shift so they cleared out a few days for us to investigate as we have to get back from Bright Falls and they have to make sure it's clean for our arrival. The reason they asked us to look at the place is because it keeps getting attacked by the spirits of past visitors who have died while attending. Who or what killed them we don't know but we know that something must've."
-Colon (12/8; 3 pm)

I forgot that I said that Jackie was a software developer, apparently blanked and just gave him a job at my Fazbear's stand-in (maybe it's to keep up the civilian act)
"I hope everyone in Bright Falls is okay, it's been hard getting back into the swing of taking care of the company. The new guys are so…adamant about all of the evidence the base has and how if the field workers aren't careful, a whole lot more damage can be done. I mean, John's son already has a concussion and is suffering acute memory loss, and it hasn't even been 2 weeks. It might be paranoia from past experiences or parental instincts but I can't help being scared for everyone. I'm just…I want my son to be safe and for him to know how proud of him I am."
-Timothy Casket (12/8; 3:40 pm)

Like Jimmy with a tail yes, but what about Gregory with a tail?
I'm just imagining him dangling off a support beam going, "Look Cardboard Friend! No hands! :D" while CBF is under him panicking because how did he get up there?
I’m hoping nobody is cursing babies to have tails, so to me there are two ways this could happen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
…. Okay, in both options Gregory is getting that tail genetically the only question is which genetics. I feel like either case would add more depth to T.Casket as a person, and his understandings of the paranormal and how they should be handled. (Using my own designs but idk what other designs to use gfhjdsjks)

Family HC
Ghost has a total of 3 dads…all are dead
So it gets confusing Ghosts mother Stella Ghost, is married to Johnathon Ghost Sr. And Peewee and they’re dating Timothy Casket, after Ghost Jr. Was born the hall moved into Timothy’s home which was a big mansion which worked for all of them being 4 poly adults with a baby (sounds like a sitcom) Stella and PeeWee often stayed home with Ghost Jr. He was named after his father with the middle name of Gregory his fully name being Johnathon Gregory Ghost, they called him Gregory to not get confused with Ghost Sr. After a mission Ghost Sr. Unknowingly brought home a demonic entity which was a result of when he banished HK this creature possessed Gregory’s favorite toy which was a cardboard doll.
One day while Stella had gone to visit family, Peewee was out dealing with press stuff for P.I.E and Ghost Sr. Was out on a job. Timothy was left alone with the now toddler CBF took this chance to kill Timothy and marked Gregory as his next victim. This went on till Gregory was about 5 years old the family unable to reach the home due to CBF eventually Ghost Sr. Managed to get him out of there. Once he did they moved to a farm and wound up referring to Ghost Jr. As James having to change his middle name until Jimmy adopted that name and they resorted to calling him Ghost Jr. As to avoid bringing up his trauma things were fine up until the fateful Kermit event and Ghost Sr. Died, and then not long after PeeWee passed away due to all this and Ghost Jr.s young age he doesn’t remember it and his brain messes up how he remembers his dads. Stella became quite protective of her son raising him by herself. And yeah that’s basically my version of the Ghost family and a bit of ghosts backstory.

Remember that post where Danny was a dragon and Vlad was a pheonix?
Yea, they're thought here too.
And Danny is obvi an eastern dragon.
Also kinda inspired by the Kwami from mlb.
Danny became the prince of the Far Frozen, after having been adopted by Frostbite a few centuries earlier. Danny is immortal here, and lived past his family so he just spends most of his time in the Far Frozen now.
Vlad meanwhile just stuck to his own lair, a great zone of fire filled with his signature black flames. Occasionally he goes out to the human world to check in on Vladco, he unfortunately had to leave his business up to an heir since it would draw a great amount of suspicion if he were to still be the head after, say, a hundred or so years.
Did he have a child with someone? Hah! No, he just took an orphan off the street, cleaned them up a lil, and turned them into an heir worthy of Vladco.
Vlad and Danny aren't exactly friends, nor enemies either. The most accurate term would be that they're Frenemies. After a few hundred years they've just resorted to that.
Vlad is an enemy of Prince Aragon, surprisingly he didn't actually do anything significant to earn his ire, Prince Aragon just hates him because he's a phoenix.
Danny is also enemies with him, since he was one of Danny's enemies before when he was a teen and the guy's attitude didn't at all help in making Danny not be his enemy really.
So you can say they bonded over their shared hatred for that one guy a little bit.
Cute forward a couple years into the future and Danny and Vlad have gotten trapped inside some magical artifacts.
Why?
Because some wizard wanted their power for his own gain and such made a plan to pit them against each other, make them tire themselves out and injure the other, and then turn them into artifacts.
Danny got transformed into a necklace and Vlad got transformed into a ring.
In hindsight, they should've seen this coming.
Like the Kwami's from mlb they can come out of their respective items in a chibi form. Tiny eastern dragon and tiny phoenix that gave the wizard who turned them into what they are now hell.
They were sassy, straight out insulted him and laughed to each other about it straight to his face, and when the situation allowed it. Hindered him instead of helping him.
It got so bad that the wizard who turned them into jewelry decided to just give them off instead of holding onto them.
They've been given away, sold, auctioned off. A lot of things, though after being handed off from the wizard they were mostly silent. Over the years they were unfortunately split up, going to different owners.
Fast forward to another couple more years and Danny found himself dug up from a casket belonging to a long dead wizard and then just dumped into the custody of one Timothy Drake.
Meanwhile, Vlad found himself bought Lex Luthor, then he went: "Wait a minute, something about you is familiar.." then found out he was the descendant of that one orphan kid he took off the streets.
Danny appeared to Tim because he was lonely, and basically became his best friend. Though he was confused about his apparent obsession with this Batman character.
Vlad also appeared to Lex Luthor, though he did haggle him quite a bit for his business and what did you mean that kid's descendants ran his business into the ground? He taught that kid everything he knew and his descendants had the gall to run his business into bankruptcy just because he wasn't around?
If he got his claws on them he swore he would-
Anywho, who the hell is Superman and why do you hate him?

When Dick first met Tim, he was a kid at his doorstep begging him to be Robin again, begging him to go back to Bruce so that Bruce could be okay again. He understood what Tim was saying then, and maybe he should’ve said okay- hell he wished he had some days, because now he looks at Timothy and just knows that he could’ve avoided so much suffering if Dick had just agreed.
But he had been fighting with Bruce, he wasn’t okay either. How was he supposed to be okay? How was he supposed to hold together Bruce when he was barely holding himself together? How was he supposed to go back to being Robin when Robin was dead?
Robin was dead. He was dead.
Dick didn’t know when Robin started dying to him. When he was kicked out of the manor, maybe? Or maybe it was when he saw Jason standing in his family colors. Either way Dick knew his mother’s Robin was dying around that time- and when Jason died, when he saw that goddamn shrine to his baby brother who he barely knew… when he realized his family colors, his name, his childhood, was soaked in blood. That’s when he knew Robin was dead.
But if Dick said he didn’t wish he had agreed to Tim’s request he’d be lying. Because seeing another Robin one who was Robin not for himself but for Bruce- for Batman. That put the nail in the casket. Watching Tim as Robin twisted Dick’s guts inside him, it mocked him and told him that Robin will never mean what it once did.
Stephanie’s stint with his name, he didn’t know much of, but his stomach dropped when he heard of what happened to her. He remembered the feeling of guilt and anger pooling inside him, a stinging string of memories and harsh words in his head to remind him of how he should’ve been there.
With Damian he felt bad to take the name from Tim, he felt queasy about letting anyone have the name at all in all honesty, but he was so like him. He looked at Damian and saw the young circus boy who was angry and impulsive and full of potential. He saw Robin.
Damian was brash and he didn’t respect Dick much at first, to him Robin was a connection to his Father who he had lost, Dick could work with that, sure Bruce wasn’t Dick’s Mother and Father, but the basic idea of Robin was the same to them back then.
It’s much later when Dick realizes that it wasn’t just Tim that was hurt by his decision to make Damian Robin. It wasn’t until he failed to save the boy from the clone of himself that he realized how horrible his decision was. Seeing the littlest Robin, blood seeping into his family colors once more, Dick Grayson realized he never should have turned down Tim all those years ago, if he hadn’t, this wouldn’t have happened. He realized he should never have left the manor in the first place, he should’ve kept going as Robin and never let Bruce give Jason the name in the first place— or he at least should’ve been able to pick up his damn phone all those years ago, maybe that would’ve changed things too.
Even with the resurrection of Damian, of Robin, Dick can’t see his colors the same.
His parents would never be proud of him if they saw what he let Robin become, a line of young kids all doomed by their name. By his name. He let his family name become a death sentence.

Chapter 12: The Nest (Epilogue)
Ch. 11 > Series Masterlist
Warnings: uuuuh none, I think?
Summary: Two weeks later.
Do not read if you're under 18. This work contains mature and triggering themes.
Word count: 1700~
December
Johnny watched his breath condense on the cold glass, blurring his sight of the snowfall. Better that way, he thought, it won’t let me see my own mug. He looked over his shoulder to watch Simon’s back. That strong, muscular back he always looked at in admiration and hope, sat now hunched on a too-small chair, utterly exhausted. Neither of them had gotten any more than a couple hours of sleep in the past two weeks, and it was showing. They were both physically and mentally drained, just getting through every day, one by one.
He let out a sigh and stepped closer to Simon, carefully resting his hands on his weary shoulders and felt a slight jolt - he had been dozing off. “Try to get some sleep, Simon,” he prodded, knowing it would be a lost cause.
“...What will I see when I close my eyes, Johnny?” Simon grunted tiredly, barely raising his head to see him in his periphery. Johnny bit his lip and leaned down, pressing his cheek against Simon’s.
“...I don’t know, love.”
At least, they were together in this.
~~~~~~
The low chime of the bells accompanied the funeral procession as the casket was carried out of the church. The skies were cloudy, mockingly fitting for such gloomy scenery. Price looked at the crowd of people gathered around the casket and trickling out of the building. It was like looking at a field of black flowers - most of them saluting at the mortal remains of Officer Melanie Kirk as she was carried to the hearse that would drive her to her final resting place.
Detective Timothy Hartford was standing close to the family, not as her superior, but as her father’s old colleague. He had asked to be put on leave for personal issues, and Price wondered if that was the prelude to his retirement from the police force as well. After all, Timothy had always felt his losses way too close. Another change in careers could be beneficial for him.
As the funeral procession went on and the crowd dispersed, Hartford found himself looking for his old military friend. As soon as he stepped up to Price, he felt a couple of pats on his shoulder.
“Already said it before, but you have my condolences,” John hummed, lighting his cigar and handing Hartford the lighter.
“Appreciated, and thanks for coming,” the detective took a long drag of his cigarette, “how’s your girl doing?”
Price let out a long sigh and shook his head, and his eyes seemed to lose themselves in the horizon. “Still sleeping, I’m afraid.”
“...It’s been a couple of weeks already, no?” the detective questions, arching one of his eyebrows, “how are your boys holding up?”
“Yeah, well,” Price groaned, a sad smile tugging at his lips, “both Ghost and Soap refuse to leave her room. They keep massaging her hands and legs, hoping for her to react to anything.”
Hartford replicated his friend’s expression, giving him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “You must be happy your kids are so tight,” he hummed, before stomping the butt of his cigarette on the ground. Price couldn’t find any reason to deny it, and a pleased smile found its home in his face.
“I am,” he sighed, before bidding his friend goodbye and walking back to his car, “let’s have a drink sometime this week, alright?”
Hartford waved him goodbye, and walked towards his own car to follow the funeral procession to the cemetery.
~~~~~~
…It was warm.
It was warm and dry, and smelled of antiseptic. Definitely not like the forest.
The beeping was getting annoying.
She tried to take a deep breath, but her sides hurt. Her lungs felt like two empty balloons. The hand on top of hers was strong, slightly calloused, and very, very warm. It was tenderly kneading her knuckles and fingers. She wanted to hold it. Just a squeeze.
The hand retreated and she nearly let out a whine, but she only managed to exhale through her nose. She missed the warmth. She wanted to find it again.
Her eyelids cracked open, the blurry colors slowly settling in. The first thing she recognized was a ceiling - she was at the hospital, again. But the room was darker than usual. The fluorescent lights were off, and the only light seemed to come from a window.
She slowly turned her head to look at the source of light, and her breath briefly paused at the view. Simon and Johnny were looking out of the window, supporting themselves on the other. Johnny’s arm was wrapped around Simon’s middle, and Simon’s was keeping Johnny close by his shoulders.
[Name] thought they looked absolutely adorable, but short flashbacks began appearing in her mind. She remembered their worried eyes, their urgent voices. A pang of guilt weighed heavy in her chest - it was all her fault. Well, technically it was her captors’, but she had been careless enough to let it turn that bad.
She missed them dearly, though. How long had it been since she fainted? She couldn’t wait in silence any longer. She wanted to see their faces again.
She wet her lips, and took a deep, shuddery breath.
A slow, gentle whistle startled both men, and they turned around to meet [Name] looking at them with a drowsy smile and half-lidded eyes.
“How’s the view?” her voice was barely louder than a whisper, but it seemed to echo in the silence of the room.
In a fraction of a second, they cleared the distance from the window to the bed, barely able to contain their enthusiasm as their hands got hold of whatever was closer to them. Johnny’s hands cupped her face, while Simon took her hand and pressed it against his cheek, pressing his lips against the skin.
Johnny looked deep into her eyes with a watery smile, his tears colliding with her rosy apples. “The view is beautiful, breathtaking actually,” he kissed her cheeks, earning a breathy giggle from her before she coughed, her throat still too dry.
Simon handed her a glass of water and helped her take tiny sips, while Johnny pressed the button to call the nurse in. Once she’d drunk enough, Simon leaned in, claiming her lips in a slow, needy kiss. [Name] let out a small moan into his mouth, feeling content and fuzzy for the first time in a long while.
~~~~~~
“...and only after you’ve completed the physical therapy, you can get back to training,” the doctor instructed [Name], and she couldn’t help but compare it to the little speech he had given her only a little over two months prior. “And then you have the psychological evaluation to determine if you’re suitable to get back on the field, but that’s out of my scope, really,” he shrugged and offered her a little smile, “I hope you don’t get back too soon this time, though.”
[Name] pouted and let out a short snort at him, “Likewise, Doc,” she grumbled, but then she continued with a little grin of her own, “thanks for everything.”
The doctor nodded and gave her a gentle pat on the leg, before taking his leave. All this time, while she was prodded and poked all over, Simon and Johnny had remained aside and out of the way, staring into the back of the heads of whoever got closer to her.
But now they were alone in the room once again, and both men took one of her sides, unable to keep their hands off her now that she was awake. She hummed into their touches, raising her own hand to stroke Johnny’s cheek.
“I was half-expecting to see you turned into a lobster when you came back,” she teased him, and he only nuzzled into her hand.
“I did take the sunscreen,” he smiled, carefully stroking her bruised wrist with his thumb, “I always listen to you, y’know?” The question looked much heavier in his eyes than how it sounded, and [Name] didn’t fail to notice it.
“I know, you just like the banter, hm?” she smiled at him, pulling him down to kiss his cheek. She watched the corners of his eyes crinkle with a smile, and wiped out a stray tear with her thumb. He leaned in closer, burying his face in her neck and inhaling her scent deeply.
She enjoyed his weight on her and relaxed into Simon’s touch as he held her hand in his own. A few more moments passed in silence, before she let out a little whine.
“I can’t believe I’ll be on medical leave, again,” she sighed, and Simon let out a chuckle, pressing his lips to her forehead.
“We managed to get Price to let us stay with you this time,” he hummed, and she noticed a mischievous glint in his eyes. That piqued her interest, and curiosity got the best of her.
“...How?”
“We told him that if he even talked about sending us off on a mission, we’d break our own legs and force him to put us on medical leave, too,” Johnny smirked, barely pulling away from her neck to speak. Her mouth fell open in shock.
“You did not-”
“Nothing will keep us away from you this time, Tweetie-bird,” Johnny pressed a soft kiss on her cheek, “we’re all going home together.”
[Name]’s smile only widened, and she knew that if both men paid attention, they would hear her speeding heartbeat. “Home?”
“My place,” Simon clarified, his thumb tenderly stroking her darkened cheek, “it’s big enough for the three of us.”
She considered the thought, falling asleep lulled by Johnny’s reading, and waking up to their sleepy faces and Simon’s awful bed hair. Lazy morning breakfasts, and quiet talks over hot drinks while snuggled up in Simon’s enormous sofa.
“Sounds nice,” she hummed softly, before quickly piping up, “I call dibs in the middle!”
Johnny barked a laugh, before squishing her cheeks and making her lips pucker out, “as if I’d let you sleep anywhere else!” He pressed a sloppy kiss on her pouty lips, swallowing her giggles.
Simon watched them - the two people that poured all their love into him without a second thought - with a content smile on his face.
There was no empty space between him and Johnny any longer.
His heart was complete once again.
The end.
A/N: Don't you guys love a happy ending? I personally love them :) Thank you all who stuck to the end, despite all the pain I made you go through, you truly mean a lot to me!! I’m now halfway through The Magnus Archives’ 1st season, so I thought it would be cool to just post my thoughts on each episode so far :). (Spoilers, I like all of them, and this podcast is going to be all I care about for a while.) Also NO SPOILERS PLEASE!!!
Link to Masterpost (contains all of these thought posts)
- Episode 1, Anglerfish 🚬
Statement of Nathan Watts, regarding an encounter on Old Fishmarket Close, Edinburgh.
Really strong start, not the scariest episode so far but definitely unnerving, and it gives a good first impression and layer of intrigue. While the story is simple in comparison to the later ones, it was still enjoyable, and I was just appreciating the atmosphere and framing device of the episode as well.
- Episode 2, Do Not Open ⚰️
Statement of Joshua Gillespie, regarding his time in the possession of an apparently empty wooden casket.
This is still one of my favorites. The whole time I was on edge, and this was the first episode that really kept me up at night. I went from wanting to know what was inside the coffin desperately, to wanting to stay away from it as much as possible. Joshua’s insuring dread and creative solution to his problems was fantastic, and it ends with some intriguing plot threads being set up.
- Episode 3, Across The Street 📓
Statement of Amy Patel, regarding the alleged disappearance of her acquaintance Graham Folger.
I think I share a common sentiment when I say that Amy stalking Graham was almost as creepy as the actual horror lmao. Overall I don’t have that much to say about this one, but it was very enjoyable, and I feel really bad for Graham in retrospect :(.
- Episode 4, Pageturner 📕
Statement of Dominic Swain, regarding a book briefly in his possession in the winter of 2012.
I…feel like I should hold off on talking about this one for now. While it was definitely well written and creepy, it just seems to be so full of setup for future plot lines that I almost don’t feel like I can form a concise opinion on it until I really get what’s going on. Honestly, my only complaint with this episode is that maybe it’s setting up TOO much in one go, but I still had a good time with it overall.
- Episode 5, Thrown Away 🗑️
Statement of Kieran Woodward, regarding items recovered from the refuse of 93 Lancaster Road, Walthamstowe.
This one actually did a pretty good job at getting me to think about waste disposal workers lmao, I never really thought about them like that before. This one was just really creepy, but also kind of fun in a weird twisted way. It did a great job keeping me on edge as well.
- Episode 6, Squirm 🪱
Statement of Timothy Hodge, regarding his sexual encounter with Harriet Lee and her subsequent death.
I am simultaneously horrified, and unfortunately aroused by what happened here.
- Episode 7, The Piper 🔫
Statement of Staff Sgt. Clarence Berry, regarding his time serving with Wilfred Owen in the Great War.
Having an episode set nearly 100 years ago is a really fun idea, and it’s executed perfectly here. It was interesting how it also featured a real person, and I liked how the paranormal activity felt more metaphorical here, it really did feel like it was showcasing the horror of war.
- Episode 8, Burned Out 🌳
Statement of Ivo Lensik, regarding his experiences during the construction of a house on Hill Top Road, Oxford.
I found this one to be very nerve-wracking, since not only was the whole scenario with the tree just, like…three creepy things happening at once, but the fact that the statement was given by someone with schizophrenia did a good job making me question it’s validity, even though I’m certain it’s true after listening to a later statement. I also hope that I get to see how the history of the house is unveiled in the future.
- Episode 9, A Father’s Love 💡
Statement of Julia Montauk, regarding the actions and motivations of her father, the serial killer Robert Montauk.
This one made me feel really sad :(. I really felt Julia’s despair in this one (Jonathan Sims does such great voice acting for every statement btw, both the character and the actual person), and I was even more saddened by the implications of why Robert did what he did. If my assumptions are correct, then…SCREW THE MOTHER! It was also the first one that got me thinking about where exactly all of the paranormal stuff comes from, and later episodes only add to my theory that it’s all due to demons/cults/higher powers.
- Episode 10, Vampire Killer 🧛‍♂️
Statement of Trevor Herbert, regarding his life as a self-proclaimed vampire hunter.
Much like Episode 8, this one did a really good job at making me question the validity of the statement, although I became more sure of its truth a bit earlier. I also just love how nonchalant Trevor comes off as, compared to all of the other traumatized horror victims. (Also, I’m guessing that the name Trevor and the episode title are meant to be a Castlevania reference?) While vampires aren’t the most creative thing for an episode, at least in comparison to everything else, the beast-like execution here more than made up for it in my opinion.
- Episode 11, Dreamer 💭
Statement of Antonio Blake, regarding his recent dreams about Gertrude Robinson, previous Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute.
Yeah…Gertrude Robinson did not die a normal death. My guess is that she was caught by ✨the horrors✨, but I’ll wait and see. This was another very tense episode, with the prophetic dream world being really, REALLY creepy. I do hope we get to see more of “Antonio” in the future, as I think he could be quite important. (I also hope he gets punched for DUMPING GRAHAM IN HIS TIME OF NEED-)
- Episode 12, First Aid 🏥
Statement of Lesere Saraki, regarding a recent night-shift at St. Thomas Hospital, London.
OMG GERARD KEAY HI HI HI HI HOW ARE YOU!!! Yeah I audibly gasped when he showed up again, it was such a cool moment. Anyways, hospitals already creep me the fuck out so this was pretty effective. Definitely some great setup here, and it helped to make a bit more sense of Pageturner, now that I have a better idea of what Gerard’s whole deal is. It also added some good fuel to the whole cult idea, and my god this poor nurse. Having to deal with all of this in a single night sounds like hell.
- Episode 13, Alone 🌫️
Statement of Naomi Herne, regarding the events following the funeral of her fiancé, Evan Lukas. Statement taken direct from subject.
Having a new voice in this episode was really cool, and Katie Davison did an excellent job as Naomi! It was also cool to see how Jon interacts with other people, he was…nicer than expected. This episode honestly felt like it was calling me out, as I am also someone who’s confident in my independence, but if I was in Naomi’s place I would also probably be scared shitless. I really hope she’ll get a happy ending :(. Also, The Lukas family is quite intriguing, especially since we now know they have a connection to The Institute…
- Episode 14, Piecemeal 👆
Statement of Lee Rentoul, regarding the murder of his associate Paul Noriega.
Firstly, this is probably my favorite of Jon’s vocal deliveries. His performance of Lee Rentoul just feels perfect. (Once again, this applies to both the writer and the character, I’m genuinely convinced the latter is an ex-theatre kid.) Outside of that, THIS ONE CREEPED ME OUT. The body horror was very effective, with the only thing holding it back being the fact that Lee isn’t the most likable protagonist in the podcast, but if this happened to someone else I’d be even more upset. Still though, it was a very creative concept, and the whole vibe and execution of the episode made it great.
- Episode 15, Lost Johns’ Cave 🕯️
Statement of Laura Popham, regarding her experience exploring the Three Counties System of caves with her sister Alena Sanderson.
What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fu-
- Episode 16, Arachnophobia 🕷️
Statement of Carlos Vittery, regarding his arachnophobia and its manifestations.
The way they tackled the concept in the title was really well done. Arachnophobia is seen as an irrational fear by a lot of people, so having it portrayed as an effect of childhood trauma was a good call. And as someone who is not arachnophobic, this episode got me close to feeling that way. What ever force was making Carlos relive his trauma is a sick fuck. Also the cat was a real one, glad he survived the whole situation. (Also THE WORMS, HOLY SHIT IT’S THE SEX WORMS!!!)
- Episode 17, The Boneturner’s Tale 🦴
Statement of Sebastian Adekoya, regarding a new acquisition at Chiswick Library.
This episode really compelled me to get out the rubber bands connecting images lmao. I really liked all of the connections to past statements here, like the presence of another book from the library of Jurgen Leitner, to the mention of Micheal Crew. The body horror here was once again very creepy, (outside of the flat rat, that was morbidly funny), but my favorite part of the episode was the introduction of Elias, which was a humorous, but also very intriguing scene. Also, the themes of books containing power was great as well. Great stuff all around.
- Episode 18, The Man Upstairs 🥩
Statement of Christof Rudenko, regarding his interactions with a first floor resident of Welbeck House, Wandsworth.
…ew. Ok in all seriousness, this is probably my least favorite episode so far. Still very far from bad, but after all of the extremely interesting themes and plot threads, having an episode where the idea was just “What if a guy had a house covered in meat? Wouldn’t that be fucked up?”, felt just a little bit underwhelming. Which like, the fact that my least favorite episode’s biggest problem is that I find it slightly pales in comparison to previous ones is just a testament to how much I’ve been enjoying the podcast. Still though, there were definitely a few things I really liked. The reveal of the room was creepy (especially considering the meat that seemed…alive…), and as someone who has had to deal with upstairs neighbors making noise for hours during construction, this episode definitely scared me.
- Episode 19, Confession, and Episode 20, Desecrated Host ✝️
Statement of Father Edwin Burroughs, regarding his claimed demonic possession.
This, alongside Lost Johns’ Cave, was one (or I guess, two…) of those episodes that seriously fucked me up. While I am not religious, I have always had fears of how religion can negatively affect me and the people around me, despite the good that it seems to do for so many people. So seeing Edwin be charged for every “sin” he committed by a higher power that wishes to steal its faith, and then not get judged by it, but by the people around him for his one true sin, was absolutely haunting, and I hope he turns out ok in the end. Outside of the horror, the episodes were fantastic. Listening to the events of Episode 8 from Edwin’s perspective, and seeing how Ivo’s actions saved him, was really cool, and solidifies in my mind that Ivo’s experience was real. The connections to demonic magic and Latin script thickened, and it was overall just a great mid-season finale. In conclusion, I hope that Martin feels better soon, and if he isn’t actually sick and is being plagued by ✨the horrors✨, well then I hope he survives :).
Thank you for reading my silly little thoughts if you’ve made it this far, it really means a lot to me :). I’ll probably update this every time I finish half of a season, so hopefully my thoughts on episodes 21-40 will be here in the Reblogs soon. :)
My T.Casket Headcanon Masterlist
Sorry for missing yesterday! I was having a hard time deciding what to talk about this week. Since I’ve been pretty focused on this area of the lore for the past couple weeks, I thought I’d address the head of the Original PIE Team before going deeper into what the Original PIE Team was and what they became. This will also give context for Ghost’s childhood, Ernest Ghost’s whole deal, and other things that T.Casket has a finger in. He’s essentially got a lot of influence on the lore despite being dead for up to 20 years by the time Ghost and Toast found their PIE team.
Which is ironic, because he really isn’t that much of a developed character on his own, I barely had anything on him before starting this.
History Headcanons
While he was originally scared of what the supernatural meant for living humans, he grew to be more calm and accepting as he became more involved with the undead, eventually coming to the conclusion that his initial assessment was dead wrong. He saw the paranormal as just a different type of person, no more or less inclined to violence or danger than the average human. With that realization, he became more and more inclined toward the supernatural over the living, making it all kind of sad when he stayed deceased after his own passing.
Modeling Career It was stated in the videos that some point that at some point in his life, T.Casket was a male model! This was likely meant to be a one-off joke, but I feel like it does add something to his character to have him previously in that type of career. Models are kind of seen as air-headed and self-absorbed, but the career is actually really competitive, and for someone to become well-known they often have to go above and beyond to be recognized. It’s also a job that tends to come with overcoming physical exhaustion and strain, while also not being taken seriously.
All of that is to say that T.Casket being a model before he was a paranormal investigator sounds like a sudden and unwarranted change, but really the only thing he’s lacking is an understanding and the incentive. I like to think that what happened to T.Casket is really simple— he had a live-threatening paranormal encounter he couldn’t deny and became enraptured at the concept. Though he was already used to being kind of blown off, he found that running around claiming he met a paranormal being of some kind had people rolling their eyes at him, even people who were skeptics or already believed in the supernatural. Frustrated by this response but innovative enough to do something about it, he came up with an idea to try to remedy what he saw as the issue— understanding.
In his research, T.Casket found that, at least in the Taleblr universe, it was pretty obvious that ghosts existed, and once he started digging and was increasingly easy to prove it. He approached his superiors with an idea for a television show about attempting to prove the existence of the supernatural, arguing that they were either doing something impossible (meaning the show would go on forever) or something that would change history and the world as they knew it. That didn’t really work, so he also emphasized how a lot of people would probably watch it no matter how scary or not scary it was, especially if it had big names tied to it.
Concocting a Plan After a couple of years of insisting, they finally let him have it… but it had to be paid for entirely out of pocket. Not actually making too much on his modeling salary— and the hours for the show having to operate around said salary— he stuck as local as possible when hiring crew. The “manager” and editor, Teddy, was actually a friend from work who he had worked closely with in the past and already believed in the supernatural herself. Additionally, everyone he got to work on cameras were in a similar boat, being people he knew from his modeling career. And he had quite a few people on cameras.
The first stranger he was really desperate to bring onto the team was Ernest Ghost, an amnesiac mechanic who made it into the news for randomly appearing in the middle of the city one day. The more T.Casket read into his story, the more he was convinced that something else was going on there and figured if anyone would have a personal connection to the paranormal, it would be someone who survived a paranormal event. It also helped that he would frequently post supernatural-involved devices to local message boards.
Ernest was pretty open to joining, so long as his brother from the family who took him in was allowed to join too. T.Casket wasn’t quite sure what to make of Johnny Ghost, who was still kind of a skeptic and only made ghost-catching tools because he thought it was an interesting hypothetical. He ended up going over Ernest’s head to attempt to hire Johnny’s “close friend”, Marion as well, thinking that the one who actually believed in spirituality would say yes. In the end, the believer said no and the skeptic said yes, which while initially disappointing, meant that T.Casket had a team!
It took a little while of training and research to make sure everyone was on the same page and that the supplies they had did what they claimed. Some things didn’t work as intended, and there were some disagreements as to what the supernatural were, but by making sure they were all on the same page, it kept those arguments from happening on camera.
“The Paranormal Investigators Extraordinaire - Now On Cable TV!” The show went off without a hitch and while they didn't fully understand things when they first started, it became easier to understand things once they were able to have a conversation with the ghosts and ask them questions. While the original thesis of the show was that the paranormal were a danger to people and were going to hurt people if they did not know about it, that VERY quickly changed as the conversation progressed.
As T.Casket met more kind-hearted ghosts, the goal moved from banishment to conversation.
An Uncertain Demise
I have three options for who certain killed T.Casket. There may still be other people who were involved, of course, but there are three who I am for certain about could be an option.
Option 1 - CBF was actually a threat to T.Casket and led to him getting hurt or killed. This makes the most sense to me in a world where T.Casket is bad to Gregory outside of possible neglect because otherwise I'm punishing him for an improvement to his worldview. CBF could have been a danger to Gregory without being a danger to his dad, and further CBF could have been seen as just imaginary to T.Casket. Even if CBF wasn't the sole reason, it could have also have been involved.
Option 2 - Darth Calculus got to him. He really didn't like Casket because he wanted the whole paranormal thing to be as secret as possible. He has a lot of influence and is not above killing people. He's also not above killing people using their own children to explain how this ties to the option under it.
Option 3 - Something happened, and it ended with Gregory being responsible for what happened to his father. Jimmy Casket? CBF suggestion? Influence from DC? T.Casket was a bad dad and Gregory fought back? There's many options, mostly because Gregory doesn't remember. I'm not leaning toward this one though because otherwise Jimmy would probably have a secret like "I killed my father!" bubbling around if it was.
Misc. Headcanons
According to the wiki, T.Casket was born in 1928 and died in 1986, meaning that based on my own headcanon of when Ghost was born, T.Casket was 53 when Gregory was born and 58 when he passed away. I’m not sure if I’m going to keep it because I always imagined T.Casket as being a bit younger, but it genuinely works kind of well.
“Casket” was not his original family name, but one he chose to take for his initial modeling career. Additionally, between Timothy and Tommy, one of those names were his stage name, giving himself another degree of separation between himself and his career. He didn’t take Casket as his legal name until after his paranormal investigation career took off.
Though T.Casket frequently operated in the area the modern PIE team now covers, there are many creatures who T.Casket never had the opportunity to encounter. This includes Maxwell Acachalla, who wasn’t undead at the time and the Toilet Toucher, who was actually apart of the team without knowing his own future.
In spite of his level-headed persona, T.Casket is “secretly” a bit of a romantic. I say secretly like that because everyone who knew him personally figured it out pretty quick.
Salt guns and other weapons weren't popularized in PIE's process until after T.Casket, Ernest, and Johnny Ghost were all either dead or missing (thanks Marion). The main way they handled situations was banishment.
T.Casket was invited to do a lot of talks at universities who were incredibly excited about his discoveries. He worked with multiple researchers across the country to prove his theories and is cited in most paranormal investigation articles. Most people who have professional and amateur experience in paranormal investigation has heard of either T.Casket or PIE.
Meaning that Ghost being T.Casket's son lowkey makes him a nepobaby. he wouldn't even have been allowed to keep the PIE name if Peewee didn't have the copyright.
Relationship Headcanons
- Aimee
I like to think that part of the reason why Aimee is so drawn to Ghost is because she knew his father for some period of time! I think that Aimee was either one of his first encounters, or one he remembered incredibly fondly, empathizing immensely with the young girl
- Cardboard Friend
Gregory’s imaginary friend! Or maybe something more? There's no way of knowing if T.Casket was aware of the supernatural aspect of CBF before his death. Our only two sources are Ghost (who doesn't remember and can be unreliable) and CBF (who depending on the interpretation, stands to benefit from lying). There are two directions to take their relationship imo.
Either CBF was telling the truth in its second appearance. I don't remember if CBF said that T.Casket was its father, but I could see T.Casket seeing this childlike ghost clinging to his child and choosing to attempt to raise it like Spooker and Colon did with Woah.
Or CBF was a danger to T.Casket, no matter how kind it was to Gregory, for one reason or another. Maybe it saw T.Casket as competition, or maybe he really wasn't the best father and CBF saw him as a danger. There's many things that could be up, that ranges from CBF being in the right to being severely in the wrong.
- Darth Calculus
An enemy to the PIE team who wanted to see T.Casket dead even if the PIE team dismantled by itself first. Since everything Darth Calculus is doing only works so long as the supernatural stays a secret, he found the PIE TV show especially to be disgusting and did everything in his power to nip it in the bud. He failed, obviously, and ultimately T.Casket didn’t even realize that there was someone out there literally trying to kill him.
- Ernest Ghost
He sprouted WINGS. WINGS. T.Casket should not be picking favorites of his technicians but this guy is literally made of magic. Even if they did not fully understand what was happening to Ernest, T.Casket was So So supportive and interested. They did not come to fully understand that respawns, sadly.
On a personal level, minus the magic, T.Casket is kind of friends with Ernest but they keep each other at a personal arm's length.
- Gregory Casket
His child! His boy! In spite of T.Casket’s romanticism, he never shared who the kid’s other parent was, just showing up to work one day after frequent absences with a swaddle to ask if Ernest or Johnny wanted to be the godparent because Teddy turned him down.
He was admittedly a bit neglectful, always putting his exploration of the paranormal above his child. He could have been worse, too, but I'm not going that direction this time around!
- Johnathan Ghost
Friends through work, T.Casket was invited to his wedding and entrusted Johnathan to take care of his son if anything were to happen to him. T.Casket also keeps Johnny at arms length because he values his social privacy... but that's nothing against Johnny himself. (They're friends but Johnny knows next to nothing about Casket. By design.)
- (Doctor) Johnathan Toast
A British scientist with close ties to the royal family and one of the guests on T.Casket’s show, Johnathan Toast was a researcher looking into how the supernatural could be both dead and alive, arguing that if the reason could be discovered, then it could help to prevent illnesses, bring the dead back to life, or even expand a person’s lifespan. His theories helped the team understand how an undead body might function, which helped them come up with theories on how to communicate with the ones without corporeal form.
The two stayed in touch until Johnathan got a new employer and had to become more secretive about the direction his work was going. T.Casket was pretty happy for him, anyways— he seemed to be much more enthusiastic about the direction his work was going.
- Marion Ghost
Also known as Peewee, Marion was a very close friend of Johnathan Ghost’s. T.Casket knew they were together, though they might have only started dating after they met T.Casket, but he didn’t press them to tell him anything about it. If they didn’t want to talk about their relationship, he’d respect that— not like he was telling them everything about the people he was with, either.
He was eventually asked to come to their wedding and trusted the two to raise his child if anything happened to him. Marion was the most questioning if T.Casket was expecting something to happen, but secretive as always he didn't say. Marion and Johnny ended up the legal caretakers of T.Casket's son by the time he was six.
- Papa Acachalla
They met, Papa was uncooperative, and it ended with the cameramen almost getting shot. This was before Papa had a family-- if he had anyone at the time it was either Sally Betty or Gertrude. Either one wouldn't have pulled him in too much. In spite of this, T.Casket remembers his meeting of the Acachalla incredibly fondly.
- “Teddy”
T.Casket's closest and longest friend, she probably knows the most about him of anyone on the team. It doesn't help much, seeing as she's a complete mystery herself.
She, if anybody, knows who Gregory's other parent is, but doesn't share to be respectful to T.Casket's wishes.
Ghost family
My take on it:
Ghosts Fully name is Jonathon Gregory Casket-Ghost Jr. He’s the son of Timothy, JG Sr., and Angelina(mama) Ghost, a bit after his birth something happened and he wound up living with Timothy until CBF showed up, CBF assumed his name was gregory since that’s what Timothy would call him around Senior to not get them confused Timothy died shortly after CBF came around and after being recovered Jr. Was sent to live with Senior and Angelina Senior died what Ghost was about 7 years old and he was left alone with his mom his uncle occasionally coming to see them
The Ghost name comes from senior Casket comes from Timothy and then Angelina married into the Ghost name.
