So many things happened at that episode...

You know at the beginning of the season I truly believed that Odalia married Alador out of love and even if she is manipulative bitch, she wouldn't cross that line. But she did. I hate her even more now.

Now this is kinda obvious that Alador and Odalia didn't married out of love. And looking at Alador expressions it seems that he is more than miserable at his marriage. And did you see how Odalia was ready to attack him when he express his second thoughts? And the fact that she truly attack him gives me abusive relationship vibes. Just saying.

Give this man a divorce.

And Darius is still single. Just saying.

I just wanna talk about how important and impactful it was to see Amity fight back against her mom. She’s someone who she loved and trusted and obeyed silently out of fear. And now is growing up to realize that it’s abuse, not love. That her mom is using her for selfish gain and the illusion of a perfect family. And Amity defending her friends/girlfriend with so much love in her heart. Yet she was given that moment of empowerment to do something she’s always been terrified of doing. She now sees that all of her friends and even her dad are so willing to defend her. Bc I know how scary it is to fight back and stand up for yourself, how dangerous it feels.

It was honestly very reminiscent of this scene from Tangled.

Anyways thank you tangled and toh creators for writing stories about fighting back against an abusive family member, regardless of their intent, that shit is hard and terrifying to do. Please continue to write about young girls (but really any gender kid but tbh it’s a specific brand of abuse from mother to AFAB kid) defending themselves from mothers who abuse them under the guise of “knowing what’s best for them”

Wait, so remember this in the previous episodes?

And now we know that Kiki knew about the Collector because no one cares about her so she was able to listen to Belos and the Collector conversations.

Do you think when she was talking about the Emperor having eyes everywhere she was referring to the Collector?

And/or the reason she knew that Belos knew something about the rebellion was because she heard him talking about it with the Collector?

Odalia is reflective of the strange and most dangerous ability Philip possesses through his manipulations- the ability to get people to earnestly, honestly consider themselves valuable to him even if they're aware of his intent to cleanse the isles of the majority of life. Some of the Coven heads like Terra likewise believed that they were exempt, apparently underestimating how all-encompassing his racism is.

Amity: "Mom, you have to listen to me! Belos lied to everyone! He doesn't want to bring about peace, he wants to kill everyone!" Odalia: "Not us though, I made him pinky swear."

Raine: "Terra, you have to stop the spell! Belos is a maniac! If you don't stop him, we'll all die!" Terra: "Nu-uh, not me! He pinky promised!"

The Collector: "See! See! I was not the only one!"

It is and as I pointed out, the faraway shot of them with all the airhsips looming in the background really did emphasize the enormity of what they were up against. And in the end, it was too big for any of our heroes to stop.

Yeah, I don't wanna give Hunter too hard a time, because considering who raised him, it's honestly a miracle he turned out as well as he did. But there's still some work to do. Did I already make the joke about the Therapy Coven having their work cut out for them? I think I did.

Oh wait, you meant kiss, nevermind.

I suppose it's only appropriate for one of the last few moments of genuine joy and hope to harken back to Luz' dreams of a fairy tale world where the dashing hero saves the princess and the world at the end of the day. Too bad it didn't last.

Right between King and Luz, foreshadowing their separation at the end of King's Tide by forces beyond their ability to overcome.

If that is the case (and I'll admit I'm somewhat skeptical) then that raises some very interesting questions about how exactly Odalia avoided getting branded. Did she somehow manage to avoid it, tricking the process and making people think she was properly branded? Or was it part of some deal she made with Belos, perhaps as a condition for some business deal?
