Buffy is SURROUNDED by people who project and project and project some more onto her without ever truly seeing her and just trying to force her to be whatever they want/need her to be often leaving her feeling used, abused, and lonely.

And so while yes on the surface the Buffy bot is icky as hell and obviously irl all of us would be rightfully horrified if that happened to us. This is fictional and with a still evil but trying to be good but with no human soul to help guide him on how to be good Spike - who has been rejected and is honoring that rejection and finding a solution to leave real Buffy alone by giving him a place to put all his feelings for Buffy somewhere that isn’t Buffy herself - programs her so well and therefore showing how well he sees and understands her!! NO ONE ELSE could have programmed that exact Buffy that was believable enough to fool her friends. So yes it’s twisted but this is a vampire falling in love with the slayer if you want completely healthy truly go elsewhere lololol but so the bot is used to show just how well Spike truly understands her and more importantly what he loves about her which given the partner she had right before this was Riley who VERY CLEARLY hated how strong she was and that she was the slayer…

The choice of “make spike happy” instead of something like “pleasing spike” feels significant because it’s able to encompass a wider range of things including her care for her friends since that seems to be the active folder when she’s accessing information on them. Buffy caring about other people makes him happy even though he’s morally grey at best at this moment 😭 AND TWO KISSING PROGRAMS ARE THE VERY FIRST THINGS IN THAT FOLDER 😭😭😭 he doesn’t just “want to fuck her” like people try to claim he wants to love her 🥲 he wants her kisses like I’m gonna throw up from how disgustingly tender and heartbreaking that is

Buffy bot calls both her and Buffy very pretty and tells Giles he “should listen to the other Buffy because she’s very smart”. Spike made sure the Buffy bot was a Buffy that loved herself and valued her intelligence like I cannot even begin to tell you how NONE of this is your run of the mill making just a sex bot of your crush because not being able to have sex with them upsets you. He wants to love her because he knows she needs it as much as he wants to give it to her

We have this moment where Buffy bot has finally found Spike who she’s been looking for and worried about the whole time and seemingly only cares about him and no one else and she sees he’s SEVERELY injured yet when Giles calls for help Buffy bot responds at the same time as Buffy does and runs to his aide leaving Spike like she’s still just so BUFFY at her core even if the superficial aspects have been changed 😭

if we compare this moment to the one in something blue where xander calls out for help in the crypt in an IDENTICAL situation yet ACTUAL BUFFY just continues to make out with Spike when he’s not even injured at all 💀 like Spike didn’t even give Buffy bot the “extra love sick” component Buffy herself exhibits for him on multiple occasions 😭

and of course - WE END WITH THIS KISS AND THE WAY SHE’S FUCKING LOOKING AT HIM BRO 😩 she’s like holy shit he was for real when he said he loved me no one has ever done anything like this for me while simultaneously showing how COMPLETELY loyal and obsessed they are and how well they know and love all of me AND my sister like

ik im late but im playing through kaveh's hangout event and. the haikaveh brainrot is real

since these losers can't do it themselves i am here to offer my translation services ‼️

al haitham you liar. we are in a library using our indoor voices you did NOT hear us.

and even if you did mr. "i hate small talk" why'd u walk over hmm?? hmm??

mans literally sent kaveh away to boost his confidence a bit + find out if he was okay.

i can't get over how many exceptions al haitham makes for kaveh. he's not heartless and cruel in the way i often see him portrayed... but at the same time his entire demeanor is "i respect you as a person but won't go out of my way to do things for you unless it benefits me"

like he's one of the only characters who isn't super super close with the traveler, at least that's how i see it in the voicelines! he respects them as a friend, would consider doing things for them if they asked, but that's about it really!

but KAVEH. for someone who enjoys a peaceful life and has such a rational and efficient way of working it theoretically makes no sense for him to do all the things he does for kaveh.

like sure "maybe the cheering up kaveh is just to avoid having to deal with him drunk later", but that's too roundabout of a demeanor to be al haitham's style. plus, if he really didn't want to deal with a drunk kaveh, he could just kick him out.

but he doesn't because he cares, and kaveh does not understand that because he has created a vision of what he thinks al haitham is in his head, and in that vision he, kaveh, has no value so why would haitham have him around?? clearly he's got ulterior motives.

and they won't move further until kaveh lets go of that vision, and he can only do that if he truly realises his own worth, and until then haitham's gonna have to keep pushing him towards that from the shadows.

"he overworks himself, it's not healthy. he forgets the practicality of his ideals when he starts something, thinking he can pull through it, but reality hits him halfway. he can keep his ideals, that's fine, but i wish he was a bit more realistic about them."

kaveh's altruism stems from his own self-hatred, moreso than his desire to help others. and while doing a good deed puts a smile on his face, the melancholy guilt that trips him when he doesn't is far greater.

"if they are his ideals then i have no right to say anything about them. but he hurts himself so much as a result of that and i wish he would love himself a bit more."

al haitham has a great deal of respect for kaveh, not just as a scholar but as a person. and it's hard watching someone like that dig their own grave, and there's nothing you can do but wait in the sidelines, because they won't believe anything you say.

al haitham is constantly bickering with kaveh to get him to feel a little, challenge his ideals, find a way to make them work without sacrificing himself in return.

"at this poing talking to him is no use, he's convinced himself that his life only has purpose if it's in the hands of others. all people face hardships in life, but he seems to believe he deserves all he gets and more"

and then after kaveh is back he gives him space to talk about things that make him happy, and more importantly, appreciate himself.

how to tell kaveh i want to listen to his silly lil rants without sounding like a sap - al haitham's brain, probably

al haitham knowing all of kaveh's little buttons, and pressing the right ones after determining his mood, so he can show kaveh he loves him but still sound like a bitch.

"you did so well. i am so proud, and i hope you are proud of yourself too."

and sometimes he does click the wrong one, but then immediately goes back on it, becomes soft(er than usual), offers reassurance, changes the topic, and so on

we saw this in the parade of providence event, when kaveh got legitimately upset at one of haitham's remarks and he immediately went into I HAVE UPSET MY BF recovery mode.

and what i love the most in all this is KAVEH'S DUMBASS IS SO OBLIVIOUS TO THIS LMAOOO

but also it's sad because the reason he's oblivious is because he doesn't think he's worth being cared for like that.

haikaveh's whole vibe is "i love you, but i'd much rather you love yourself first" and "i'm your one and only, your only exception, the one you'd break all your rules for" and i love it.

MY TAKE ON THE CANON PJO/HOO SHIPS:

Percabeth

Okay so, I’ma be real. I was kinda disappointed when they got together. I thought we were gonna have “Not Every Boy/Girl relationship is Romantic” representation. But as I read more of their relationship after that, I learned to love their relationship, because its not ALL romantic. They still have that same close friendship they did before they got together and I love that. Their 5 book build up was absolutely awesome tho tbh. Love a slowburn. They are genuinely cute, silly and fun. They are the old married couple at camp teaching the campers cool stuff together. They really compliment each other. Something so personal and perfect about their relationship is that they are both different kinda of smart. Percy is street smart and Annabeth is academically smart. Also, they are both strategic in their own ways and are strong af. The fact that they are basically each other and healing the other while healing themself is precious to me. They are both insecure and feeling lonely in a demigod world, but they found and completed each other.

Jasper

Yeah, no. Super forced, and not stable. Piper is loving someone who she doesn’t even know, hence her having false memories of him. Jason doesn’t even know her and instantly fell in love. Personally, I’m not a believer in love at first sight. You have to get to know the person to truly love them for all they are. Piper is insecure and a girlboss and this relationship is keeping her alive in HoO, because she is so angry at the world. She’s living off Jason practically and thats not healthy for either of them. Jason is progressively learning about her, but it’s so middle school relationship stuff. Its really shallow love and Piper needs more than that as a child of Aphrodite. Jason needs that too because that’s just how he is but they’re relationship is built of the stress and desperation of war. So yeah. Sorry if this isn’t accurate, I haven’t read HoO in a bit and I’m not good with characters lol.

Frazel

They’re cute tbh. Age gap is a little scary, but I read something proving that they’re closer in age if you look closely. Anyways, I really like these two. They were crushing on each other before war and were really the only ones there for each other before Percy came to save the day for the Fifth Cohort. They literally had a normal crush on each other, like Percabeth but they didn’t do anything super dangerous together that brought them closer I’m guessing. Their quest with Percy brought out parts of Hazel and Frank that they needed to learn about in order to pursue a healthy relationship. They learned of each other’s pasts. On the Argo II, Frank being jealous of Leo is so cute honestly. Hazel comforting him for it too is awesome and its a cool dynamic. They are just a cool, calm, awesome power couple. They are super powerful and it was so cool to see them discover themselves together and loving each other for it. And interracial representation?? Hello?? Awesome rep, I think. Their cultural differences didn’t stop them and that’s so good for them.

Caleo

No. Just, hell no. It’s a relationship sculpted of desperation. Calypso being nice to him all of a sudden on the beach was uncalled for. Enemies to lovers can NEVER be rushed. They were super rushed. Both of them are desperate too. Calypso was desperate to get off her island and Leo was desperate for a partner after seeing everyone else have one. That is not healthy ‼️‼️ Also, Calypso is mean to Leo?!?! Calypso is bossy and kinda sorta rude to him. Like, hello??!? Leo is a little blinded by the desperation of love to realize this. If they really wanna make it work, get couples counseling from Percabeth, they are by far the healthiest couple. Caleo was def something Rick pulled outta his ass.

Solangelo

Solangelo is my biggest ship, I love them, but I do have some opinions fs. First of all, they are beautiful in theory. I love thinking of what they could’ve been. Yeah the canon’s cool, but Rick doesn’t know how to write gay characters. So most their content is different from the straight couple until TSATS. TSATS was much better writing. Rick had helped from a queer author so they acted like any other couple once again. Second, I love their simplicity. Like, they saw each other in war, thought the other was cute and was like “oh what the the heck?” and eventually got together after the war showing it was not desperation but real. Honestly, I think it started out as a crush then some shallow dating, but after being through the Tower of Nero and that whole thing, it started to get more real. In TSATS, we see them get a deeper connection. They’re whole little shallow crush thing is getting deeper and that dynamic is awesome. Also, they complement each other, and they’re dynamics are awesome. But I really love that they teach each other things. Like Will teaching Nico to embrace his light but to not forget his darkness. Nico teaching Will to embrace his darkness but not to forget his light. They are learning to be healthy and how to do this relationship stuff. I could go on forever about them and not be done so I’ll stop here.

✨ Articles of Phantom Theives : The mermaid and the ship of fakes! ✨

NOTE : watching the actual episode of the anime is highly recommended Hello everyone! Huhu here! It's been a while huh? Well as I promised I have finished the chapter for this story! You are in a treat this time my friend, I have decided to write an actually full fledged story this time instead of writing bullet points. I’m going to be honest..this wasn’t easy. I had to constantly keep motivating myself and the amount of times I have went back and forth to looking at the episode is insane 💀 That being said, THIS IS A WARNING‼️ the end of this story might be lacking and I apologize for that. I’ll try to be better in the future! Hm..what else? Oh yes, Emily's outfit! Yes yes she is dressed up in knight armor (will be explained in the story) here I even drew it!!

Don’t get me wrong, Emily Oak loves parties. She enjoys socializing with different people and most importantly the food.

So why is she wearing a fully covered knight costume in the middle of a party?

Well dear reader, let me explain. So it started when Emily and DJ peacock were discussing their latest report on Kaitou Joker when a little birdie told them that Joker has sent an advance notice to steal Mr Kaneri’s Mermaid Crystal during his luxury liner party! Obviously both of them were stoked about this news but before things can get even more better it was also hinted that the mysterious phantom thief Spade (who has yet to reveal his identity) was also going to be appearing!

DJ peacock was too busy jumping around in excitement already having ideas on covering the underground news and to notice Emily's shoulder’s slow slump when she realized who Joker and this spade is stealing from.

“Hm? Emily what’s wrong?” “Oh um.. well good news! I can go to the party without being accompanied by inspector oniyama and the others!” “That's wonderful! How did you manage to do that at a short notice?” “Ok so here's the surprising news..”

Emily had to shut her friend’s gaping mouth before any flies would fly into it when she revealed that Mr Kaneri is her uncle. In her defense, the rich man is her FAR FAR FARR UNCLE. She hardly sees him that much anyway but she has a great opportunity in her hands and she could get a peek of what kaitou spade looks like as well! All it took was one greeting (and a bit of persuasion) and Emily had the invitation in her hands, ready to go!

And that's how she got into this situation, a fully covered knight armor costume in her uncle’s cruise attending his costume party. It's not like she doesn’t want her uncle to find her (ok she does) but she only really came here to see what Joker has up his sleeve this time and see kaitou spade, not be forced to write an article about how wealthy her uncle is.

‘Now that I think about it..this armor is making me sweat..’ the brown hair girl thought to herself while looking at the multiple paintings of her uncle on the wall. It was amazing how Emily managed to get such armor like this on rent, truly it was a snatch ... .except it was hot and heavy to move in!

‘Maybe I need water..yeah water might do the trick!’ She made her way to the buffet table that had the most drool worthy food on it. It looked so good she almost bumped into a waiter that suspiciously looked familiar to her. Is it just her or has she seen those blue eyes and strange hairstyles before? Eh it's hard to see through the helmet anyway.

A few minutes pass, and the mermaid crystal is now revealed to the guests by Mr Kaneri’s assistant, kaneko. The beauty of the treasure shown on television could not compete with the real deal! It looks stunning and amazing, and- is that Joker?! Emily paused in the middle of feasting on the delicious custards to see LITERALLY KAITOU JOKER OUT IN THE OPEN COMING DOWN FROM THE CEILING?! She couldn’t believe it! Has Joker already planned to take the mermaid crystal this early? Or has he already done it? How?!

As if she heaviness of the armor Emily is wearing didn’t bother her anymore, she instantly brought out her pen and notepad (guests who were beside her was looking at her weirdly like ‘did this knight just pull out a pen and paper out of thin air?’) preparing to make a beeline towards the fight breaking out in stage between iInspector Oniyama and “Joker”. Until that beeline was cut short, now Emily stood a good feet away from the mess of her uncle who was actually wearing a joker costume, shouting at Inspector Oniyama and her crew of attacking him. To the Oniyama’s defense, the costume looked TOO much like Joker.

Emily sighed at this and turned around to go back to her previous spot at the food buffet. She could hear bits of conversation of Mr Kaneri and oniyama’s conversation but she isn’t one to eavesdrop so-

“By the way, have you seen my lovely niece Emily? She said that she’ll be here at my party tonight!” Mr Kaneri boasted about making Oniyama tilt his head. “Your niece? Emily?” “Yes! Emily Oak! The famous journalist that wrote articles about the rotten Joker! You see I’m planning on convincing her to write articles about ME instead, because I’m so rich and famous it would definitely indeed turn heads!”.

‘You know what I think it's a great idea to hide in the kitchen for a while’ her legs guided her quickly into the kitchen. Big mistake, she was faced with four heads turned towards her. Emily blinked at two out of the four familiar heads, grinning behind her helmet at the sight of them. She pointed at them.

“Hachi! Joker!”

….

“WHO ARE YOU?!”

“I didn’t realize it was you, Miss Emily!” Hachi exclaimed as Emily took off her helmet and smiled at the ninja boy “Sorry for making you panic back there in the kitchen, it's nice to see you again!”. She didn’t get to spend that much time with hachi the last time they met (that being he was literally helping Joker steal something) but she can just tell from his adorable face he is just sweet. Hachi looked at Joker who was staring at the other two with bis hands on his hips

“Hey so what's up with Joker-“

“I’ev heard lots of rumors..so you’re the big up and comer, Spade”

Emily’s eyes instantly darted to the two, the time has finally come! She is now in the presence of the one and only phantom thief Spade!

“King, you must be this Spade’s apprentice”

Wait what?

Emily slowly puts down the pen she didn’t even realize she was holding (must be muscle memory) confused. Joker just continued to talk, “Unlike you, I’m already on my own. And I have my own apprentice! This is Hachi, my number #1 apprentice”. “A pleasure to meet you!” said the apprentice.

The journalist couldn’t help but smile softly at the way Joker is proudly introducing Hachi. To think this was the same Joker she met in the past when he was still new to being a phantom thief is astonishing! Oh how the times have changed. He was even defending Hachi when this apparent “King'' made a remark of how small the ninja is. Oh how it warms her heart to see this.

“By the way, this is Emily Oak! My journalist friend”

Aw he’s introducing Emily as well?

“She writes articles about ME, very good ones in fact. That just adds weight to how much I have grown” Joker smirks as he crosses his arms together looking like an athlete showing off his medals.

‘I should have expected that..’ Emily waves her hands in front of her when King and his friend turned to look at her as she tries to explain more about herself “I don’t only write about Joker of course”The brown hair female failed to notice Joker’s side eye beside her “I am also interested in writing about other phantom thieves. That's actually one of the main reasons why I’m here, to interview phantom thief spade”

King and partner glanced at each other for a moment before looking back at the journalist. “That’s very nice of you, emily. We would love to be in your articles, it might even be more popular than Joker over here” King said with the last few words a bit louder , irking the tophat phantom thief. “Hey!” “J-just who are you to Mr Joker anyway?”

The next sentence that came out of the king's mouth was like a golden buzzer for our girl. It's not everyday she gets information about Joker’s childhood heck even his life when he’s not doing his phantom thief stuff even! She has always wondered what Joker’s childhood was like. To grow up, training to become a phantom thief must be tough right? Who was his mentor? Did he live in a secret isolated place like in those spy movies? Or a hideaway buried deep in nature where the only access to get food was hunting?

Well at least now she knows that he and King were training partners under the same master. Just wait till her article fans hear about this!

Emily was too busy thinking about what she’ll write in the upcoming article, she didn’t mind the current argument happening with king and joker. Er..something about ‘that summer’? Eh, the girl was too far in her thoughts to even listen unlike hachi who was dying of curiosity.

“Hey, what happened that summer?’ Please tell me!”

“Shut up! I’m not like I was back then! No matter what you people do, that crystal will be mine!”

In response to Joker’s claim, King just confidently crossed his arms ``We'll see about that, you don’t want to underestimate the skill of phantom thief spade. Let’s compete to see who can recover the Mermaid’s crystal first!”. The monologue was accompanied with his partner’s chuckle in the background (very nice add on might I say).

Emily’s brain was busy functioning this situation at the moment. ‘Two phantom thieves’ + ‘compete’ = SCORE STORY!!! For a moment she squealed, making everyone look at her for a second. Joker smiled to himself when he noticed Emily’s expression, it's one that he has seen many times before and assumed she was already loving the idea of this.

Not wanting to let her upcoming article be a disaster (and his pride won’t allow it), Joker returns King’s confidence with a smirk “I have no intention of losing to you two”. Hachi shared the same confidence, ready to be alongside Joker to win this challenge.

…

“Wah, I’m so full..”

The five of them looked to see inspector oniyama nearby with his partners. ‘Oh crap!’ Emily thought to herself, quickly putting on her armor helmet. She didn’t want to be caught by none other than the police with phantom thieves, especially inspector oniyama! He doesn’t even know she’s here to begin with! Besides if he does then Mr Kaneri will know..and then- She shivers at the thought of being in an endless bound conversation with her distant uncle where most of the time it's just him talking about himself.

“You’re so under arrest, Joker!!” Inspector Oniyama yelled out, dashing towards the phantom thief. Joker and Hachi both stand in their place, barely having any time to make a run for it until the king's partner swiftly moves in front of them facing the police. ‘Eh?’ Emily thinks, now that she is thinking about it she has never been introduced to King’s partner yet..

Luckily inspector oniyama also wanted to know who was the person standing in between him and Joker as well, “W-who are you?!”. King wasted no time in introducing that, his partner is Phantom thief spade. Emily gasped at the introduction, ‘This is perfect!’ She thought, ‘I can’t believe I’m going to see the phantom thief spade in action right in front of me!’

“Evil glance!” A bright light shines from Spade’s single eye (the one thing that stood out from his bandaged head (weird choice design but…still cool)) blinding inspector oniyama, momo and ginko. Just like that, three officers were down on the floor asleep once the light faded away. Emily looked at the three unconscious figures in wonder at what just happened beside Joker “Woah..” “T-that was so cool!”. Spade looked back at Joker, “Now you owe me one”. The spiky haired phantom thief gritted his teeth “I didn’t ask for you to do that!”.

The journalist on the other hand, hummed behind her helmet, “Thank you for that, Spade and King!”. Joker whipped his head to look at her “Don’t compliment the competition!!”. Spade smirked and winked, “No problem, Emily. Well, we’ll be taking that treasure. See you then”. He and spade ran off ignoring Joker’s constant yells of not letting his childhood friend steal the treasure he’s targeting. Hachi looks on in determination and notices emily walking away to where the part was. “Hm? Emily, you’re going too?” Asked the phantom thief apprentice. The girl smiled sheepishly, admitting that she’ll be heading inside to where king and spade are “I don’t want to miss spade and king steal the mermaid crystal..” “How do you know they’ll steal the mermaid, we’ll do it first!” Joker huffed as he crossed his arms, hachi mirrored his movements. Emily chuckled, “You better do it fast then, goodluck you too!” She gave a thumbs up which was returned with smirks and smiles before running to the party leaving the other two behind.

Once Emily entered the party room, she tried her best to find Spade and King. No really, she did! Like literally looking up and down, the kitchen, the toilet, everywhere! Seriously what kind of training did he and joker do in the past that involved both of them being able to hide so perfectly well?!

She sighed to herself, the journalist was hoping to meet them for a quick second along for a little mini interview but it seemed like that wasn't going to happen. She glances at the bag behind her, there was another reason why she wanted to see them again..

She found a tranquilizer gun.

In fact she found it on her way to the party on the floor. ‘Is it theirs?’ She wonders, ‘or is it..someone else's?!’ The thought of someone in the party with a tranquilizer gone got her sweating…it even makes her sweat bullets because now she has the gun in her bag.

‘If anyone were to see me with this..’ Emily internally panicked at the thought of someone catching her with the tranquilizer gun. She didn’t want to go to jail yet!!

Fortunately the thoughts slowly go away as Kaneko and Mr Kaneri go up on stage to announce the winners of the- eh? There was a costume contest? Emily surely didn’t know that, but the prize must be amazing then if it came from a rich man like Mr Kaneri!

“The winner indeed will receive a year’s supply of Mr. Cookie!” Mr Kaneri announces as the projector behind him projects an image of his cookie brand. Emily sweatdropped ‘why did I even bother..?’, for once she assumed her distant uncle would give out an expensive prize, she wonders who the winner of the competition is.

Before the winner is revealed though, the doors to the entrance of the room opens and Spade stands there chuckling “kukukuku”.

Emily gasps, holding her hands in front of her helmet at the sight (the guests who beside her looked at her weirdly yet again). It's the big moment of the show! Spade is now going to steal the mermaid treasure. ‘But wait..where’s King?’

“Evil glance!” Light yet again appears from Spade’s glowing eye blinding everyone, including Emily this time. However instead of sleeping like what happened with inspector Oniyama and his partners, the girl didn’t feel herself growing unconscious. Once the light faded, Emily along with multiple other guests blinked in confusion. Obviously the guests are wondering what just happened but Emily was the most confused out of them. ‘Huh?? Why aren't I unconcious? Isn’t that supposed to happen?’ Emily thought to herself, as she takes a look at Spade who is unmoving from his spot. Looking more closely, Spade was indeed not looking too good. In fact he seemed like he was panicking.

‘WHAT IS HE DOING?! IS THIS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN???’ She looked in worry feeling bad for the phantom thief. This was supposed to be the moment where he and King (again where is he) steal the mermaid crystal..and it went totally wrong! How is she supposed to make this sound amazing but also truthful in her article? ‘Phantom thief Spade fails to steal the Mermaid Crystal’? Oh dear..

As if anything else could get worse, Inspector Oniyama along with Ginko and Momo bursted in immediately capturing Spade by dog piling! Great now Emily might as well write ‘Phantom thief Spade fails to steal the Mermaid Crystal AND gets dog piled by police’ as the title of her article!

There could only be one thing to do now.

That's right.

Visit the caged Spade alone.

You would think security would be tight but for some reason, Emily has no problems sneaking in to check up on the caged phantom thief behind bars. She still had to take precautions though so she kept her helmet on. There wasn’t even anybody else in the room, just her and Spade. The journalist made her way in front of Spade with the only thing separating the two was the bars holding the phantom thief in. “Spade,” Spade looked up to see a knight in front of him. For a second he thought it was just some random party guest that wandered into the room but soon realized it was the girl he met on the ship’s dock once Emily lifted up her helmet to reveal her face

“M-miss Emily? What are you doing here?” Spade said out loud, curious on why she decided to come visit a literal criminal. The girl replied with a hum “Since you’re basically arrested now and most likely to be going to jail as soon as this ship gets onto land, I want to spend these last moments of interviewing” she frowned at the last words. Emily felt disappointed a bit to see such a phantom thief like spade get caught like this but..it's not she could do anything about that. Spade’s body paused at the brown haired girl’s words, ‘This girl..wants to interview me? Even though I’m-‘

“Ok first things first I need to ask you about something” Emily reached to take something out of her bag. Spade titled his head wondering what it might be.

He expected many things but no once did the thought of a tranquilizer gun being an option.

Emily may not see it, but Spade was shocked to see the gun in her hands. I mean how did the journalist get her hands on it?! Did it fell off when-

“I just want to make sure this is yours and King’s…because I really hope it is since the idea of someone else on the ship with a gun like this wouldn’t ease my worries” Emily nervously chuckled and turned the tranquilizer gun to fidget with it. “Actually now that I think about it, this is my first time holding a gun” “Miss Emily please be careful on holding that” Spade warned the person on the other side of the bars, the last thing he wants at the moment is something to go wrong. She assures the phantom thief, while holding on to the gun loosely “Its fine I got this-“

“So this is the so-called phantom thief Spade!” A third familiar voice in the room called out behind her.

“AAAH!!”

Bam! Out of panic, Emily accidently shot a nearby crate with the tranquilizer gun and quickly put the knight helmet on her head. ‘Oh shoot! It's..’, she turned around to see a shocked Mr Kaneri clutching his Mr Teddy in his hands as if his life depended on it. ‘Oh no!!’ the journalist mentally cried out, quickly putting the tranquilizer gun in her backpack. She didn’t mean too, really! You all saw that! She doesn’t quite like her distant uncle but not so much to shoot him! Her eyes shifted towards the guard behind Mr Kaneri staring at her through his glasses.

‘Its over.’ Emily has accepted her fate, freezing on her spot. This is the end. She was caught talking to a literal criminal, almost shot someone and a guard was there to witness all of it. “Y-you-! You tried to shoot me! Guard! Arrest him! He indeed needs to be locked up with that thief as well!” Mr Kaneri pointed straight at Emily, who was only accepting her fate more when she realized her uncle doesn’t even recognize her. Great so she’ll be going to jail by her own distant uncle.

This is the end of Emily Oak’s life..

The guard made no move to arrest Emily however instead he knocked Mr Kaneri out. No seriously, the journalist was now looking down at her unconscious uncle as the guard was tying him up. “What..” Emily gaped, not understanding what is happening right now. What was she feeling? Shocked? Confused? The poor girl could feel herself shaking a bit. After successfully tying up the rich man, the guard stood up to face Emily with a smile. She gasped when she recognized who the guard was.

“You're an interesting one, Emily. I didn’t even realize my tranquilizer gun was missing until the last minute” King let out a chuckle while making his way to let Spade out of the cage. He patted his partner’s arm as an act of comfort before looking back at her with a curious look, “Are you sure you’re not secretly a phantom thief?” Emily quickly shook her head at the question, “Me? No way, I just happened to find the gun on the floor as I was walking to the party. You guys must have dropped it” Besides, I don't think I can handle the intense life of being a phantom thief again, she mentally added. .

“So what are you going to do now?” “Continue our mission to steal the mermaid crystal of course! Don’t tell me you thought we’ll just let Joker and his apprentice take it from us.” “Ahaha of course not, I wish you luck for you two!”

King and Spade leave the room after bidding their goodbyes to Emily. Now it was just her and Mr Kaneri’s slumped, tied up unconscious body on the floor. He was even snoring- is he dreaming of something?! Emily shakes her head and smiles, ‘I've seen what Spade and King had done..perhaps it's now Joker and Hachi’s turn!’ She grins and makes her way to the party room.

The phrase ‘The show must go on’ fitted perfectly for what was going to happen next in my opinion. Despite just capturing a phantom thief, someone must have thought it was a good idea for the party to still continue, not that Emily minded she was interested in how things will turn out. Especially since she hasn't seen Joker make any moves to get the treasure yet. Speaking of the devil, as soon as the girl was wondering where her friend was, the lights turned off and there Joker was, standing on the stage with a confident stance.

‘There he is! Oh and since everyone knows that Mr Kaneri is dressing up as Joker no one is batting an eye’ Emily mentally noted how smart this trick was, it was just as easy as taking a candy from a baby. Joker seemed to not even hide his victory smirk as he approached where Kaneko and the mermaid crystal is. However he didn’t get to even touch the treasure. Somebody stopped him and that someone is none other then..Inspector Oniyama.

“So under arrest!”, he and a few other officers cornered Joker on the stage. The phantom thief was surrounded the only thing left to do was the inspector making sure this was the real deal or just Mr Kaneri (He secretly hoped it was the later).

“You’re a fool, indeed!”

It was the latter.

Emily was starting to get a headache, so that wasn’t Joker but her distant uncle? Wait but that doesn’t make any sense, she saw the old rich man asleep a few minutes ago… and what do you mean he won the costume contest?! She stared in confusion as Mr Kaneri cackled on stage, embracing the fact that he became the winner of his OWN contest.

But what’s that..?

Another Mr Kaneri appears on stage?! Commotion arrupts from everyone, this has turned into a mess!. ‘What..is happening??!!’ Emily looks back and forth at the two Mr Kaneris from her position in the crowd. Instantly, being the one and only japanese police inspector that is determined to catch his target criminal, inspector oniyama and his subordinates jump on stage to set the record straight on who is who.

In the end though, the mystery was solved when one Mr Kaneri realized the other Mr Kaneri was King. This caused both of them to take off their disguise and can you guess what happened next? Yeah, you’re right, they both got captured and taken to the cage Spade once was.

Ok let's be honest here, this whole story Emily Oak has witnessed so many twists and turns. She wasn’t even surprised to be asked to help distribute curry laced with whatever was in the tranquilizer by Hachi and Spade. You can say she was already tired and wanted to get over this. The journalist began pushing the trolley from the kitchen to the party room when she heard the little ninja beside her sigh.

“What’s wrong Hachi?” She asks wondering why Hachi was sighing. “Its just..I really want to know why Mr Joker seems to have a bad history with dipping sauce! But he won’t tell me one bit of it.” he crossed his arms, seemingly annoyed he can’t know. Emily chuckles and assures him, “Its ok, Hachi. It must be an embarressing past if he doesn’t want to tell you what it is. Everyone has their secrets after all.” The asisstant hummed, taking her words before realizing something, “Hey Miss Emily, why aren’t you with them?” “Them?” “Yeah Inspector Oniyama and the others, normally when there is a event where me and Mister Joker attend you always stick with the police force.” The brown hair girl titled her head as she continued to push the trolley with the curry pot at his question. Emily was considering on telling him the reason why she got invited to the party…but then the thought of the ninja telling his master that Mr Kaneri is her distant unlce. It would open so much opperunities, oppertunites that will lead to trouble.

“Everyone has their secrets, Hachi”

“What?”

Emily continued to push forwards, quickening her pace.

“MISS EMILY??”

“I am the true phantom thief spade!”

“What?!”

After putting everyone to sleep with the curry, the trio managed to save the two phantom thieves and are now standing at the dock of the ship just like what happened last time. For some explanation, Joker managed to snag the mermaid cyrstal before Spade and King could. Now this is the part where emily would write down what happened, and smile with a “I guess joker won again, I can’t wait to tell my readers!” UNTIL..

It was revealed that King was actually Spade the entire time?! And the “spade” was actually King’s assistant, Dark Eye?! This is the last plot twist the journalist could handle, she is going to lose it if it weren't for Spade giving a dramatic departure as he steals the treasure away from Joker in his airship….do all phantom thieves have airships?

The journalist continued to look at the distant blip flying away. So she has a story, she just expected it to go like this. Emily chuckles as she thinks to herself ‘This was a fun night..’

Joker and Hachi stop their current bickering (yet again it was Hachi asking about the summer dipping sauce and Joker refusing to tell anything about it) to stare at the girl. The spiky hair thief decided to speak first, “What are you laughing about?” “I was just thinking how fun this whole night was..I can’t believe I got to meet Phantom thief Spade. He sure is an interesting fellow”.

Joker huffed and crossed his arms “Don’t compliment the competition!”. “Yeah! And don’t worry we’ll win next time!” Hachi added with a determined smile shared with his master.

“I can’t wait-“

“JOKER!!!” “Give me back my treasure, indeed!!”

Uh oh

The three of them turn to see a very awake Mr Kaneri and Inspector Oniyama running towards them at full speed. Emily quickly puts on her knight helmet to shield her identity as Joker and Hachi…jump off the ship into the ocean?! She quickly looks down by the railing as she sees the two of them in the ocean. ‘What an exit..’

“Ah! Inspector! That was the knight that almost shot me earlier, indeed!”

Emily did a sharp turn to face her distant uncle, “WHAT?!” No way..is her uncle really going to make the police arrest her?!

Well I guess she has to exit as well

WOWEEE so there we have it folks! You have reached the end of the story! Damm that took long! So this is the chapter where Emily meets Spade for the first time, I quite think they will have a nice friendship with one another. Maybe he’ll spill embaressing secrets about Joker to her a bit and Joker will be like “I DID NOT DO THAT” but like yk he did. What’s that? The ending seems to be lacking? Well I warned you! I’m like running a race, I start strong, end tired and begging my friend to give me my water bottle. I tried my best either way though, I guess this is about 4000 words? This will be a rare case..I don’t think I’ll ever be doing something like this again..

but ok let's be real - there is a part of you that was curious what would happen if he caught you. cos you knew they would be back soon from whatever the hell he was doing (bounty hunting, slinging joopa, arguing with kanan, etc.) so deciding to have a lil' solo session right before carried a risk of getting caught. but you were excited and wanted to see what would happen.

it's been a steady build-up of flirting, longing looks, and prolonged hugs and touches. you're both falling to the same pool of desire and it's time one of you did something.

and they don't interrupt you when they find you. they're shocked that you would be thinking about them, but you best believe they will bring it up later.

boba be the most direct about it, taking the bait but still somehow making you flustered. he'll bring up casually the next day when you least expect it.

"so...you think i'm daddy?"

you'll be pushing your palms into your eyes and groaning as he chuckles at your response before leaning over to grab your wrists.

he'll call your name, asking you to look at him as he tries to coax your hands away from your eyes.

it's when your situated between his legs when you finally look at him. with his thumbs tracing the pressure points on your wrists, his grip loosens. you have every ability to push away from him, but you don't. he'll move in towards you until you can feel his breath on your face.

and you won't catch on because privacy has never really been an issue with din despite the close living space. when you ask why, din fumbles and averts his attention to the weapon he is polishing. he tries to keep his hands busy, something to make him look busy as the words fall out of his mouth.

"i...i, well, i didn't mean to. it was an accident. i heard you, saw you actually, when you were alone."

he'll look up at you when you're quiet and he's worried because he can't read your reaction. you're neutral and it worries him. it was truly an accident but it still doesn't stop that he saw you in a position that you may not have wanted.

he'll start word vomiting just to fill the quiet space until you cut him off. "din. i don't want to leave and i don't want a lock. i want you to join me."

and rip daddy din djarin that will be the last of him.

and finally we have our beloved captain gilf rex. he's like din in that he won't be as forward as boba, but he won't try to skirt around it either.

he'll wait until you both are alone as not to embarrass you. he'll phrase it like a gentle warning, a heads up so you don't end up in this situation with someone else catching you.

"hey kid. you might want to check your door is shut next time you're...alone. i came back yesterday and saw something i don't think you wanted me to see."

you nod, your mind burning with embarrassment. it's awkard after that with you nodding and muttering an "i understand" under your voice. rex turns to leave when you figure, fuck it. he already saw you playing with yourself.

"you should join me next time, captain."

and that makes rex stop and turn around. "w-what?"

his eyes are wide as you take a step towards him. "i'll be alone again tonight. around 9pm. you should join me if you're around."

you kiss his cheek and turn around trying in your power not to sprint back to your room.

uh oh Annika’s rambling abt Panathir again, jeez louise‼️

(putting it under the cut bc it’s truly a ramble/thinking-out-loud type of thing after I went back thru my game notes)

doing some Panathir work & I’m VERY indecisive about how magically inclined he is. I’m looking back at the notes I had taken when he first appeared in the dnd game & he was like…very strong. like a true blue sorcerer.

however, this makes zero sense in my canon now bc Jax has zero magical ability, and they were both created and trained to be the same, which means they were both created to be dual-wielding melee warriors. like I think he could’ve honed some magical ability, but I don’t think it would be enough to be doing all the craziness he had done in the first encounter. man was like earth bending and shit LOL.

however however…it’s so fucking cool. like he kidnapped one of Jax’s friends and psychologically tortured him by like slowing down time and altering his reality and stuff, & he had set up his lair in the sewers with trap doors and invisible doors. and it was really fucking scary in the game. like he slowed down time and made it seem like the friend had been there for two weeks, but it was only like an hour in real time, and there was a scary ass moment where he was shaving the friend’s face with a knife very gently & me and all the players were sitting there like 😬‼️

but then again I did have him doing some really crazy rune and soul magic that I refuse to take out…but it also is very inherently nepherit since they do deal in minor soul magic already to switch bodies. but also the villains he’s working with are only using him bc they believe he is a necromancer…which he isn’t LOL. but I would assume he’s honed his magic more intently since then, right????

and if he can do all that psychological torture magic, part of me is like “well he wouldn’t use it on Jax bc he respects them and wants their genuine love” but another part is like “ok well he literally fried an entire family just to get Jax’s attention, so he’s not a particularly clear thinker” and also “if he’s already manipulating them, then it’s not particularly genuine love, eh?” but who’s to say he recognizes that. I don’t think he does.

it is tricky to adopt a character, esp one that was kinda made based on cool vibes LOL. like my partner did a lot of DM’ing on the fly in the moment and occasionally it would not add up; this happened often with Panathir imo LMAO (sorry to my dear partner). also technically I’m his third owner, but when he was first created for a one-shot by one of the players (hilariously the same one who was tortured by him later), he wasn’t intended to be a nepherit. he was just some guy & then my partner yoinked him and put him in the real game.

ALSO another weird fun fact is that he said his name was Burlin—the original name he was made with by that player—and at some point that I entirely missed like years later, my partner changed his name to Panathir & I have no idea why. like it’s better than Burlin, but idk why he changed it LOL. like i kinda know why he goes by Panathir in my canon (when the nepherits were free, they started choosing real names. some were based on their nepherit code, which is what Jax had done, but since they both shared a similar code [J4X-11 & J4X-115], Panathir went his own way [hashtag mgtow] and wanted to separate himself from that forced comparison). he’s a character of many names ig!

My Love for D&D

‼️‼️LONG POST‼️‼️

I first got into D&D in the year 2020. I got into it through an online friend of mine who told me about "Critical Role".

I was obsessed with "Critical Role" for some time, and my obsession with the show unfortunately kinda- died out because I just simply ran out of time to even watch the show. Considering the length of the episodes and just of the campaigns in general. I really loved it though!

But I went back to consuming TV show content. The stuff I was really familiar with. You know, I was watching my favorites..."Criminal Minds", "Supernatural", "The Vampire Diaries", "Locke & Key", "Stranger Things", etc... The list goes on an on...

But in September of 2022, my love for D&D resurfaced and came to hit me TWICE as hard with the show "Dimension20"!

Now I'm telling you right now. I have now been into Dimension20 for a little bit more than a year, and I've BARELY gone back to watch my REGULAR TV shows. It's-...Dimension20 CHANGED me and the way that I view TV. Dimension20 really is like NO OTHER....just D&D live-play shows in general just HIT a spot that normal TV just...DOESN'T????

I honestly don't even FULLY know how to explain it!

I'd be watching Dimension20 and then try to go to watch "Supernatural" and I'd just make a gross face because "Supernatural"...as MUCH as I LOVE IT and IT'S ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE SHOWS! It's NOT COMPLETELY IMPROVISED!!!

I know that the main thing that really got me excited and giddy when it came to regular cinema and TV was being able to find and spot all the improvised moments from the actors that WEREN'T scripted!! Watching those scenes made me SO HAPPY and EXCITED because it's like- these people were REALLY IN-CHARACTER and were able to say something off-the-cuff that got accepted into the final cut because of how GOOD it was!

BUT! I NEVER IMAGINED that there was a type of show where THE ENTIRE THING was just FULLY IMPROVISED AND OFF-THE-CUFF! I think THAT'S what REALLY makes me GLISTEN EVERY TIME I watch a D&D show! There are SO MANY GOOD, RAW MOMENTS that feel SO FREAKING REAL!! But IT'S FULLY IMPROVISED! They didn't DO 20 DIFFERENT TAKES of ONE SCENE! They weren't reading from a script or a teleprompter! They were just...BEING THEIR character that they HAD MADE! And of course no one else could...RePLace(?) them because...they're the one that MADE the character! There's NO other person that could play a character that they had made other than...themSELF?!

Like...in normal TV, You have people getting replaced CONSTANTLY! 1 Example being like...Willy Wonka having like- 3 different actors. Riz Gukgak from "Fantasy High". Only Murph could TRULY play him because he MADE that character! Riz IS Murph to an EXTENT! You know what I mean??

Anyways...that whole idea of the improvisation that happens at a D&D table is...it's something that REALLY makes me PERSONALLY believe that D&D Live-Play shows are the best shows to ever exist. XD Again...that's just my VERY BIASED opinion! LOL!

But it's just-...The FACT that you can STILL get the REAL, RAW, TRUE emotion that you get from watching scripted TV in an UNSCRIPTED D&D Game where people are ROLLING DICE is CRAZY TO ME! But it's---

Another thing is like...you are PRESENT with the PLAYERS?!!! Like- when the Players are scared, YOU'RE scared. When the Players are sad, YOU'RE sad. When the Players are happy, YOU'RE happy! It's- It's a WHOLE OTHER experience! I feel like I don't get that with normal TV. Usually the actor isn't worried about the character before the scene happens because they USUALLY know how the scene will play out BEFOREHAND! They're not FULLY IN the moment? If that makes any sense? Like I know that sometimes the directors and stuff will keep stuff away from the actors but ya know- The actors gotta know at some point...ya know...BEFORE the scene gets filmed! They gotta know what they do before the action happens ya know? That's how TV works

But with D&D...Players DON'T know what's going to happen. They're at the SAME wavelength AS their character! They truly have no clue. They're playing a character and they might know what their characters will do in CERTAIN MOMENTS...but like- They fully don't know what's happening in each scene UNTIL it happens! That's what Improv is basically...

Like...When I was watching Dimension20 "A Crown of Candy"- like- no spoilers but- when the INTENSE moments were happening, I COULD FEEL it in my ROOM! I wasn't even in the SAME ROOM AS the players! But I could feel that intensity IN MY ROOM as it was happening and going down! I was TRULY SWEATING! XD

Because NOT ONLY do the players NOT KNOW what's going to happen...NEITHER does the DM!!! LOL! It's like a Director plotting a whole movie, but he doesn't know what's going to happen fully! That's how I see it! It's just- IT'S SO COOL TO WATCH D&D just HAPPEN!!

And that's the thing is like- Another example. "Fantasy High Sophomore Year". Again...no spoilers but that whole season is ALL THEATER OF THE MIND! It's all just WORDS BEING EXCHANGED AT A TABLE BETWEEN 7 PEOPLE! THAT'S LITERALLY ALL IT IS! But I LITERALLY HAVE MOMENTS IN MY BRAIN THAT I LITERALLY FEEL LIKE I SAW HAPPEN DURING THAT SEASON! Like...It's ALMOST like my BRAIN ANIMATED FANTASY HIGH FOR ME! In a way! Like it's- It's legit like a MOVIE getting MADE INSIDE MY MIND!! It's CRAZY! It's BONKERS! Bananas! I truly get shocked at what my brain does whenever I'm watching D&D! It feels like a fever dream tbh for real! And I just thought that my brain was doing that because we were seeing the battle sets but NO! It happens ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE ARE NO BATTLE SETS TO SEE AT ALL! It's KINDA SCARY! NGL! XD LOL! It be like an audio book except the author and the characters have NO CLUE what's about to happen! Agh! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! TRULY THE ONLY FORM OF MEDIA THAT CAN HAVE ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT THE WHOLE FREAKING TIME! I'll be on the EDGE of my SEAT ONE SECOND, AND THEN CRYING FROM EMOTIONS IN THE NEXT! It's- AHHHHHH!!! Ok yk what Tatsumi rambles lets go.. this is gonna be a long one so buckle up & enjoy the ride..

Anyways Tatsumi??? Slaps this guys head.. this bad boy can fit so much trauma ❤️ can we just start off with the random fact that his parents kept him in a bedroom with blood stains all over it?? And that he considers sleeping outside better than his own room??? 😭 I also just wanna remind everyone that Eichi compares Tatsumi’s family as a “force to not be reckoned with” these mfs are batshit insane…

BUT ANYWAY!! I love Tatsumi’s development after what happened during Reimei. His parents fucking sent him there to spread the word of Jesus & Religion but Tatsumi doesnt want that, he was raised to fear people, he was raised to stay confined and brainwashed by religious shit and be worshipped by their following. Tatsumi literally wants nothing more than to be loved. It’s his whole motivation, he would do anything for love, he would do anything for the people that he loves himself. He still says shit like this in the current story, where as he says he’ll sacrifice himself, or makes comparisons to dying in order to protect everyone in Alkaloid. Lets not fucking forget that one time he threw himself at Hiiros phone bc he thought it was a bomb??? LMAOO?? 😭 Tatsumi’s whole thing at Reimei was because he wanted to do something good, he wanted a legacy to be left behind, and for people to “love” him for who he is and the things he’s done for others. He worked himself constantly, and even mentions how he hardly ate. Tatsumi still struggles with natural eating habits because of this. There were people at Reimei who would get mad at Tatsumi if something didnt go their way, and Tatsumi wanted to help everyone. His life was constantly being threatened, and yet he still trusted everyone so blindly. It genuinely makes me so fucking sad bc he’s such a sweetheart and was torn to shreds because of it, which Himeru comments on in the main story. Fucking kudos to him btw for acknowledging that.

Anyways.. Tatsumi ended up being hospitalized due to his mentality, and physical condition. He wasn’t sleeping, nor eating, honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if he wasn’t showering..? Though I feel like thats a heavy stretch. Nonetheless Tatsumi pushed past his breaking point and ended up collapsing. He would have done so on his own most likely, but Ibara helped speed up the process to get Tatsumi out of the school system. Unfortunately for Ibara, Tatsumi ended up returning, and because of Kaname claiming all of Tatsumi’s work and regaining his power, he was able to bring Tatsumi back into the spotlight instantly. Though for their unit Kaname claims that “Tatsumi needs someone to take care of him” which I absolutely adore btw. Tatsumi was concerned for by others, but Kaname was the only one that truly pushed it. Not to mention that Kaname was Tatsumi’s very first real friend.

Now check this.. Kaname being hospitalized in a coma for getting attacked by the schools students. Tatsumi tried to save Kaname, and was pushed off stage, and beaten on the ground by a second group. Tatsumi stated whilst he was hospitalized this second round that he cried, and practically begged God asking why this would happen? He did nothing wrong, Kaname did nothing wrong? And yet they were broken beyond repair for wanting a better life, a better school system.

Tatsumi believes “HiMERU or Oremeru” to be Kaname.. Tatsumi adores Himeru, and his feelings for Himeru/Kaname has not left despite the way Himeru treats him. Tatsumi says he deserves to be treated the way he does for what he did to cause Kaname/Himeru so much pain. Tatsumi, who used to be hella agile and swift, can hardly stand for so long, and struggles running around because of his disability. Although his chronic leg pain IS a mental condition. It’s a form of PTSD actually if I recall correctly… though as a disabled person myself, I actually prefer to headcanon that during his depressive state, Tatsumi simply just gave up. His spirit & faith were broken, and life just didn’t turn out the way he wanted it to be. He became a martyr. The very thing he feared the most in life. Without attending his proper therapy, his leg simply just didn’t heal correctly as it should have, and he recognizes this as punishment for what happened during his time at Reimei. He tells Himeru that hes happy for him, and that seeing Himeru on stage is absolutely the best feeling to him. Tatsumi fucking loves Himeru, and that wont change. Because he THINKS Himeru is Kaname. But, Kaname is still in the hospital, unbeknownst to Tatsumi.

As for Tatsumis development.. he exercises, he takes care of himself, he’s able to work solo, and has a unit that looks after him, and notices the self destructive signs that he frequently shows. I fucking love Alkaloid as a whole, but holy hell, does Tatsumi absolutely deserve them as a unit. He even acknowledges harmful things that he USED to do but doesn’t anymore, such as pushing himself past his limit, or being overly trusting of other people. Though he still has this tendency.. Tatsumi is genuinely just a very loving person, he’s silly, and touchy, and kinda lacks common sense at times which is so goofy? I absolutely love the times where you can tell that he’s behaving childishly because he never did that when he was younger. Tatsumi is truly living a happier life, and is even repeating the year of schooling that he missed after such a long hiatus.. I absolutely adore him, pls love Tatsumi Kazehaya. 😭 …pic at the end cus this mf is gay & HIMERUS REACTION KILLS ME 😭 😭

HIII i don’t really send asks like this bc i’m more of a ‘repost with my opinions in the tag’ type of person but like any other person who’s read ‘hits different’ i do have to confess that It Changed My Life (real)

first of all, i do have to say that reading it made me go “BEKFUBCKA!;9.)/&:!/&:bdjshsbdj).!:!/)HEIQGSHDHS?” if that makes sense. i was truly all over the place AND i know you usually write in a mc point of view but i loved how you wrote the readers perspective!! the build from light humour of the whole relationship to the angst didn’t feel forced at all and just transitioned so seamlessly i couldn’t even give myself a break from reading.

the smut was so well written (you always give us such well descriptions) and the way that reader and haechan navigated felt really human? it felt so natural and real how haechan would get mad but still stay and how reader would feel so confused and overwhelmed when things go well but just not as she’s planned. usually when i read Long Books and finish them i’m always left with this sort of mindset? of like the book and it’s setting and the feelings being felt and i’ve never that with a fic UNTIL NOW‼️‼️ which means i’ll be thinking about this until i’ve somehow achieved some sort of spiritual closure.

So, when I wrote this, I haven’d slept in over 35 hours, and so bring to you a sleep deprived rant on why fruits basket is perfect and I love it. This may contain spoilers, as well as things you might find triggering.‼️ Please read with caution, as I will be taking about abuse a lot in this post‼️

Now with that, it’s time for me to rant about this show

Part one: The phycology

So to start, we have Torou, who comes across as seemingly perfect, almost to perfect. However, this isn’t for just a so-called perfect heroine that’s only problem is that she’s clumsy. Torou takes on the role of the person who takes care of herself and her friends as a response to the trauma of loosing her mom. Helping people, making sure other’s are happy, that is how Torou copes. She does this to be to others what she misses so much, and hopes this will help her be able to burry her sadness away. This isn’t just you cliché cutesy girl main character for a romance anime, she’s so much more then that.

Next, I’ll talk about Yuki’s trauma. He was taught from a young age that he was unlovable, gaslit and manipulated by Akito almost his whole life. He has fear of abandonment because of this and learned how to be this perfectly mannered young man because he’s afraid people will leave him if they know what he’s actually like. Enter Torou, who has this unconditional love for him, no matter what. Throughout the show, he is shown to be getting more comfortable showing his real self because he was shown that he isn’t unlovable. As he learns and grows, he starts to slowly make a start at recovery from Akito’s abuse. With the help of Torou, he feels good about himself, he’s allowing himself to laugh and. It may seem small, but just someone caring and showing love helps a lot In the proses of recovery for Yuki.

Next, Kyo. Kyo had been told from a young age that he was a disgrace to the family because he was the cat spirit, only being accepted by his mother after he sealed away his true form with his bracelet. Even his only friend at the time, Kagura, was afraid of his true form. Even if someone accepted him as the cat, no one had ever accepted his true form. Akito used this as a manipulation tactic to keep Kyo from disobeying. However, his guilt gets worse when his mother commits suicide from the stress of having her child be the cat. Kyo internalizes this, and ends up feeling even worse about himself. Eventually, his master took him in, and Kyo finally felt what it was like to be truly loved by a paternal figure, since his biological father resents him for being the cat spirit and causing the death of his wife. But despite being happy where he his with his master, he refuses to believe that he is worthy of being his master’s son, and gets offended on his masters behalf when referred to as such. Eventually, he goes to live with Shigure, Yuki, and Torou. Torou showed him love as well, unconditional love, and was the only person who not only accepted him no matter what, but also didn’t show any fear, or I guess not let the fear stop her from accepting and being there for Kyo, other then maybe his master. When Kyo’s true form is revealed around the end of season 1, not only does Torou fully accept him, she runs to him despite her fear, despite the fact that she’s afraid of Kyo’s true form. When Kyo sees her after he runs away from the house, he tries to make her not care anymore, afraid that Torou might meet the same fate as Kyo’s mom. Convinced that her caring about him will only hurt Torou. But despite his greatest attempt at making Torou resent him, she stays by his side and helps him turn back from his true form.

Part two: Sweet storyline

So, not only does Torou fully accept Kyo and Yuki for who they are, she actively embraces it, wanting to meet the other members of the zodiac. She shows the same kind of unconditional love to the rest of the zodiacs she meets, becoming a very important part of all of their lives, with my favourite example being Kisa. Kisa was bullied for her appearance, which was the way it was because of her being a member of the zodiac. She stopped speaking, became closed off and protective of herself. But Torou was there, Torou showed her a kind of love and adoration Kisa wasn’t used to, and through that she became very attached to Torou, with every time Kisa goes to visit, we basically only see her not with Torou once after she gets attached to her up to the point I’ve watched to. Torou shows all the members of the zodiac the love they crave, the acceptence they need. Look at Yuki’s relationship with her; Yuki was the first zodiac to become properly acquainted with her, growing to care for her deeply. The only time we see him seem truly happy and himself for most of the show are when he’s with Torou. Yuki is a very closed off person, trying to protect himself and not let anyone get to close, but Torou shows him that he does need to be afraid, that he is able to be loved. It’s a really sweet relationship dynamic, and I love it.

Part 3: Conclusion

This show manages to be so dark, yet so cute and sweet. It goes deep into things like generational trauma, manipulation, abuse, and other dark things, but it still has this happy feel to it, and has genuinely lovely characters with complex emotions and experiences, all of them having stuffed some amount of trauma, and we explore the effects and response of that trauma with them. This show seems like it would be boring or that all the characters would be one-dimensional, but they all have different sides to themselves and really good story building. On the surface, it’s just another romance anime with pretty men and a over clumsy yet cute and domestic girl as the main character, but it’s not. The show isn’t even about romance, really, it’s about how much one person supporting you can help, and how people are so much more then what you see. It’s about unconditional love of all kinds, about giving support to the people you care about. It’s such a well written show, and if this wasn’t enough for you to figure it out, I HIGHLY recommend you watch it if you haven’t already. Even if it doesn’t seem like something you would enjoy on the surface, even if you don’t like anime or romance, you should give it a try because it’s so much more “haha pretty man turn into animal and doesn’t have clothes when he comes back”(which doesn’t happen extremely often), it’s a truly beautiful show, and it goes deep into the phycological effects of abuse, neglect, isolation, loosing parents, generational trauma, and so much more, as well as how to start healing. Seriously, go watch fruits basket, it’s amazing.
