Pre Ceremony Family Time: You Can’t Ask That

Wesley: Manny, I have a question for you.

Manny: Sure, pops. What is it?

Wesley: Why don’t I have any grandbabies yet?

Manny: (taken off guard) Uhhh...

Manny’s brother and father look over at Manny, amused that he’s being put on the spot. Manny desperately looks to Vivian.

Manny: Vivian, do you want to take this one, darlin’?

Vivian: Dad, we’ve only been married for 9 months!

Wesley: Exactly! Plenty of time.

Demoyn: Wesley! You can’t just ask people about their personal business.

Wesley: They’re not people. They’re family. I can ask whatever I want.

Comfort’s knitting skills aren’t as good as the other women’s, so she normally doesn’t pay much attention to what’s being said around her while knitting. This conversation is too good to miss, though, so she stops mid-stitch and looks up.

Vivian: It’s all under control, dad. We have a two-year plan: this year Sulani, next year a baby. Hopefully. But we haven’t told any of our friends our plan, so keep it in the family.

Wesley: I don’t understand.

Vivian: (sighs) What don’t you understand, dad?

Wesley: Why not have a baby and take him to Sulani? 

Demoyn: They can’t be lugging a baby all over the Watcher’s wide world, dear.

Wesley: Why not? Babies are small and easy to carry.

Demoyn: I don’t even know what to say to you right now.

Chapter 1. Struggles

1.2. A simple day

In this episode, I'll show you what a normal day in Anne's life looks like. After a very bad night, Anne goes to class and is surprised to see so many people around her, and she has instantly gained popularity thanks to the protest she made the day before.

Kazuko seems a little reluctant since she asked Anne out, but Anne turned her down. The truth is that Anne seems to be interested in someone else, or at least she felt a special connection from the moment she saw her, but when it comes to love, she's shy and doesn't usually make the first move.

She was afraid to come home, but her mother was waiting for her to have lunch with her brother Ronald, so she felt good because her father wasn't home like he usually is during the week because he works late.

Being in a good mood, he decided to play his brother's favourite game "Hide and Seek..." Although Ronald is not very good playing that, as he almost always goes to the same place.

When Anne found him, she took him into the garden where they played among the flowers.

Anne spent a good part of the afternoon with her brother, till her mother took him out to dinner, so she took the opportunity of pursuing her favourite pastimes. She tended her garden, almost always accompanied by her dogs.

She checks that things in her greenhouse are neat and in good condition. She loves the greenhouse because it is her peaceful space where her dogs usually stay.

One of Anne's favourite pastimes is making flower arrangements from the flowers she plants and tends herself.

After spending the afternoon in her garden and greenhouse, she comes home and plays a bit with her dogs. Here's a picture of her with Hadley because she loves taking pictures with them.

Anne usually eats dinner earlier than the rest of her family to avoid joining her father and loves to end the day relaxing in bed reading.

And that's Anne's normal day, relaxed, calm and cheerful - as long as her father isn't around.

In the next episode, we'll see who Anne has noticed and whether she'll put aside her fears and dare to do something.

Who are Mr & Mrs Smith?

They live in Henford-On-Bagley, they have been married for three years and run a small farm. Johnathon loves animals and enjoys taking care of their chicken and llama while Joan enjoys cooking, needlework and knitting. They have been trying for a baby for a while now but nothing seems to be happening.

They both remember bits of their past, but most of it is blurry and missing a few details. They don’t question it, they just assume that everyone’s memories are like that. Apart from the fertility issue, they are blissfully happy, who are they to question things? Except one day...one of them does!

Hope Donahue listened to the adults talking about removing Arturo Boudreaux from the planet. They were all strong in their own way, she and Jesse would add to their arsenal, but it made her giggle to herself as she held her baby nephew in her arms and he cooed happily up at her.

HOPE: Hey buuuuuuuddy! Yeah, they’re talking about power and weapons and all that shizz!

HOPE: *baby voice* But they don’t know what they have right here in this house, do they Emrys? No, no they don’t!

HOPE: They’ve got the biggest weapon in the entire world...

HOPE: ...you!

HOPE: You just need to hurry up and grow up so you can kick some vampire ass! Okay shorty? Auntie Hope wuvs her wittle guy, yes she does!

Hope was right, Emrys Clayton Donald Sinclair was a very powerful young warlock, at just a couple of weeks old she could sense the power that was already within him...growing by the day. Lorcan and Rowena, both very powerful spellcasters in their own right, had created this amazing little baby who could either save the world...or destroy it! But Hope wasn’t going to tell anyone that...yet!

Cassie:

Archie was so excited about our baby! We barely spent any time apart, he was always fussing over me. I felt loved, I felt wanted but still in the back of my mind I wondered where Johnny was. I hoped he was okay, that he just needed a break from everything and that he would get in touch eventually.

During my second trimester, Archie was extremely attentive! He couldn’t keep his hands off of me and I wasn’t complaining. Being with the man I truly loved and carrying his child was a dream come true for me. When we found out that we were having a boy, I was so happy, a mini Archie to raise and love. I found myself picturing our son in my head, the mirror image of his father, handsome and charming!

Archer Clancy was ever so charming! I loved him more and more every day, I never thought it could be possible to love him more, but it grew the longer we were together.

ARCHER: We have to start thinking about names!

CASSIE: It’s early days Archie! We have plenty of time!

ARCHER: I have some ideas, you wanna hear them?

CASSIE: Sure, why not?

I was anxious to hear his suggestions, men aren’t really that great at this stuff as a rule. If my dad had his way I’d be Cornelia Goth II and Alex would have been Gunther Goth III! But to my surprise, Archie wasn’t half bad at picking out names!

ARCHER: I was thinkin’ maybe he could have Bret Mortimor as his middle names...

CASSIE: Middle for sure, he’s not taking my father’s name or yours, just so we’re clear!

ARCHER: We are, definitely! I was thinkin’ of Lincoln? Or Harrison? Or maybe Blake...

CASSIE: All of those sound great! I’ve got to hand it to you Archie, those are pretty good choices!

ARCHER: You sound surprised!

CASSIE: I know, and I really shouldn’t be surprised by you! You’ve never let me down yet!

ARCHER: And I never will Cassie, you can always count on that!

I wasn’t lying, I did want a baby! I’d always imagined having one with Cassie eventually but...yeah life happened! I never thought I’d ever find love again after Cassandra Goth, and after being turned! I honestly thought my life had ended when Vladislaus Straud sank his teeth into my neck! Lilith and her brother saved me, she took care of me and protected me! Now it was my turn to take care of her, to love and cherish her the way she deserved after failing to find happiness with those other vampire men. I did love her, I wasn’t lying about that either, I was happy for the first time in a long time!

LILITH: Boy or girl?

JOHNNY: What babe?

LILITH: Do you want us to have a boy...or a girl?

JOHNNY: I don’t care as long as they’re ours!

LILITH: Well why not have both? Maybe we’ll get lucky and make twins!

JOHNNY: I’ll do my best baby girl!

Yes, I was going to make this little vampire girl the happiest she’d ever been too! I was going to make this work! We were both broken, but together we could be whole again!
