Sometimes I stare into the nothingness and think:
Can you believe it? If jkr weren't the horrible transphobe that she is, we could all be celebrating and having a blast about Dumbledore/Grindelwald, having deliciously explicit Jude/Mads fics. We could be buying hp merchandise and being happy and feeling wonderful about how she gave us a canon lovers-to-enemies of massive proportions. The movies would have been successful because we wouldn't have cancelled her. She wouldn't need a ridiculous excuse of tv series so early to get more money/new fans. The original actors would actually want to be in a new movie, they would be happy to do so and we would all be incredibly excited about seeing Scorbus on the big screen...
But no. No, she fucking betrayed us. She turned her wand to her own community and she dared curse us with her nasty transphobic shit.
I should have known from the beginning, that she's a woman who does not write about love and hope (even if she thinks she does). She is a woman who writes about creating polarities, enemies and wars born out of bigotry.
Such a sad thing. I hate her so much. And it's such a painful and sad reality, to think I loved her so fiercely when her first book saved my life 25 years ago.
It's a long mourning process for me. I'm so angry it makes me wanna write loud and clear about hope. This is fandom for me: hope. We are so full of fucking hope we fucking saved Draco Malfoy from himself and his family and voldy and the whole pureblood shite so many times in so many redemption stories while jkr couldn't understand why we even liked him.
Here, listen: we like him because we like to see change in our world. Because we are hopeful about our society. We believe in not only magic but we believe people learn, and choose wisely once informed and change! We don't like to see you destroying our safe space. It's not yours anymore, not since you pointed your sickly words and hateful speech towards our siblings.
I really wanna write about hope. About redeemed Draco, about coming out and being supported, about found family and safety nets. About bi trans boy Harry, and black Hermione, and trans Luna and gay Draco and asian Pansy and all things queer and diverse. I wanna save Voldemort's soul and close my eyes to the fact that Freud knows it is only a paralel bc I wish I could change who jkr is and the amount of damage she did.
It's a mourning process for me, and sometimes I stare into nothingness and day dream about another life.

Okay listen. Listen okay. Dumbledore’s moral failings are a result of poor writing.
Like jkr goes out of her way to describes Albus Dumbledore as this paragon of virtue who’s constantly trying to do the right thing and he’s practically omniscient and one of the only reasonable people in the entire wizarding world
And then she turns around and goes “but he didn’t check on the boy he left in the care of a Muggle he had been warned was going to mistreat him by someone he’s known for years” and he didn’t check for eleven years.
And then after that when Harry’s envelope literally said cupboard under the stairs nobody checked on that?? And hey hey McGonagall was the only one who’d see that letter actually she was the one who signed it so that’s poor writing on her character too
But this is about Dumbledore not her
And then nobody double checked on Sirius Black and whatnot including Dumbledore (and that’s not just Albus?? Like Remus didn’t, nobody else who knew Sirius didn’t) which is frankly ridiculous because he had friends and what can be assumed was an active social life given he was friends with James Potter who everybody falls over themselves to sing the praises of at every opportunity
This is, I think, an issue with writing an overpowered character in general. You describe them as virtually all-knowing, but then don’t come up with reasonable explanations for why they wouldn’t know certain things that need to be unknown for the plot to progress. You give them awesome powers, and then struggle thinking of ways for them to be thwarted.
When this isn’t done correctly, the only possible explanation for the fans is to make the op character in question an asshole. They didn’t care enough to check that a child was safe or they didn’t feel like vouching for the safety of someone else so they just didn’t or they allowed people to become collateral damage even though it would’ve been a perfectly viable solution to let things play out another way.
It’s so annoying to me that people do this but it’s also perfectly understandable because in reality the character is fundamentally contradictory; there’s no real way to reconcile the ideas that “Dumbledore is intelligent and wise” and “Dumbledore didn’t bother checking on an infant who actively had terrorists gunning for him for over a decade.” Those two things just can’t coexist without some serious bending over to make them make sense.
But they have to for the story to make internal sense, because it is a bad story. It’s just bad writing, there’s no way around it. And that’s a really difficult thing to swallow, even after coming to terms with jkr’s bigotry. Because even when she was just transphobic and racist and just kind of a bigot in general I could still say “well, the story was good, but it sucks she turned out so bad.” But I really can’t say that anymore. And that hurts so, so bad.

HP rant: (Content warnings; mentions mama terf face)
It really says a lot about mama terf face that Draco, a character she purposefully wrote based off of her former CHILDHOOD bullies (SOMETHING SHE PUBLICLY ADMITTED), is irredeemable but the grown ADULT MAN is forgivable. The grown ADULT MAN WHO TOOK HIS ISSUES OUT ON FUCKING CHILDREN. ONE IS A LEGITIMATE CHILD AND THE OTHER IS A MAN CHILD.

small rant on the scene of neville’s boggart and jkr in general lol
tbh sev and remus r my fav chars ijdk how to feel abt the whole boggart scene? like i dont think he shouldve humiliated sev that way, but we do need to remember that jkr is transphobic as shit unfortunately. i cant ever imagine remus as being bigoted or transphobic/queerphobic though? we still need to remember that this was the 90s, and reps/scenes such as these were common in 90s/2000s media and the years before that. this scene also very much feels like jkr simply projecting on her fav character because it very much goes against what we know of remus and sev; remus felt bad for sev, but couldnt bring himself to tell his friends to stop because he thought they would drop him. he tried to tell them to stop once, but they didn’t listen, and he never tried again. he never participated in the bullying, nor helped snape; just watched from the sidelines, as he didn’t want sev to think he was like his friends/found family but also didnt want them to think he was 'betraying' them or something.
i like to imagine many things in hp in my own version of canon, and that involves this scene; i prefer to have it be remus telling neville to imagine snape doing something very out-of-character for him, which would be funny. for example singing, or dancing, etc..
in my books (no pun intended), he only told neville to imagine severus wearing his grandma’s clothes as his 'riddikulus' because the way nev’s grandma dresses looks funny (at least from remus’ pov). and just imagining severus dressing in a way completely different from how he usually dresses is funny, not because he’s in drag. i wouldnt even rlly consider that drag? while it was likely jkr trying to make fun of drag queens i dont think that was remus’ intention (does that make sense?). i think he told him to imagine sev wearing his grandma’s clothes bc nev’s grandma admittedly dresses in a way that looks funny/weird on her as well, and imagining such a serious and all-black man such as severus wearing it would be funny because of how out-of-character that is. i might just be biased bc remus is one of my comfort characters, and i’m just delusional, but hey.
the whole boggart scene in general makes me uncomfortable as a trans and queer person, and because i view sev as trans-coded or at least queer-coded. but i also view remus as queer-coded (not only bc of the lycanthropy, it’s his general vibe and the fact jkr /neg wrote him in the same way that she writes the 'good' hp mothers, not to mention his interactions with sirius and the fact david thewlis and the director themselves thought he was gay, but the allegory of his lycanthropy being his queerness also makes sense in an uncomfortable way? because if you take remus being outed as a werewolf, then quitting his job as a teacher [one of the only jobs he was ever able to get because of who he is] since he knows the parents will view him as a danger to the children, it sounds like a reference to homophobia. a very bad and admittedly anti-queer accidental queer-coding, but still. anyways we’re getting side tracked), and i genuinely cannot bring myself to see him as bigoted or in any way discriminating. to me that whole scene was just jkr projecting, which i think she unfortunately does a lot.. ew..
either way. the scene made me uncomfortable because it brings me back to my middle school, but both remus and sev are my fav characters and both remus making fun of snape in that way and snape outing him as a werewolf were shitty things to do and i don’t know whose part i should take.
when in doubt lets just blame all the problems on jkr. i hate her. i hope she perishes. the rest of u have good day tho ily, let me know what u think lol

Okay so something has been bugging me for a little while so I'm gonna say it here.
Firstly, I wanna preface this by saying two things: I am trans. I am not Jewish, so if I should delete this as a goy, lmk and I will.
So, naturally this is gonna be about JKR and the new game (hogwarts:legacy? I think). Anyway my point is that, as a trans person, everyone getting bitchy about people not boycotting the game cos she's a TERF is really bugging me. Not because she's not a terf, and not because you shouldn't boycott the game, but because the game
Is so unbelievably antisemitic
To me, this is worse. The fact that people are voluntarily playing a game that is SO OBVIOUSLY antisemitic is horrendous, but so is the fact that people seem to care more about the fact the creator is transphobic than the very real and obvious fact that the actual plot of the game is fucking horrific

I really need to say something because I'm hurting rn bc of this and I desperately need ppl to listen. TW for transphobia and mention of JKR under the cut.
I wrote out a long ass post but then deleted it all bc I don't wanna start arguments or shit, but I'm so fucking tired of ppl saying things like "no offence but ew" and "why would you choose that" and "I'm so sorry" just because I and other people like me identify as a more male-aligned or masculine gender. Stop saying that shit, it's tiring and deeply hurtful. Do you really think that the right thing to do to a trans man, transmasc, or male-aligned person is to talk to us and treat us like we're inherently disgusting and awful because of the way we identify?
I'm not "ew." I've not "chosen" to not be female. You don't need to be "sorry" as if I've caught some sort of fucking disease or something horrific has happened to me. We get enough shit from people like Rowling for being trans, we don't need this sort of gross bullshit on top of it.
I've just had to deal with someone saying "no offence to you but men are ew" to me the moment I told them that I'm trans and identify more with being male. It fucking hurts when you say that shit to us. Stop it.

JK Rowling didn't write Hogwarts Legacy.
Moira Squier did.
JK Rowling wrote about a short and swarthy ethnic minority legally denied the right to own certain kinds of property, excluded from most careers apart from finance, oppressed for hundreds of years but still ignored by equality activists, perceived as duplicitous and bloodthirsty, speaking a guttural language and having a culture considered inferior by mainstream society.
The film franchise gave them big hooked noses.
Moira Squier created a new character from this minority who was the victim of a brutal, life-threatening hate crime in his youth, which radicalised him against the society that oppressed his people. She wrote a narrative in which a marginalised person's resentment of their oppressors causes them to become morally corrupt, and the only "good" members of the marginalised group are the ones who can overcome that resentment. She created a story in which the protagonist must prevent a marginalised group from reclaiming their property, because doing so would make them too powerful, and that might threaten the status quo.
Troy Leavitt was the lead developer for the first several years (editing in a correction: he was only a lead designer in 2018; from 2019 through 2021 he was senior producer instead) of this game's creation. He runs a YouTube channel in which he defends cultural appropriation and Gamergate, among other things. (Editing another correction: I previously described his channel as alt-right; it turns out Leavitt explicitly rejects the alt-right movement, though he still holds various reactionary opinions.) He oversaw the design of a marginalised minority which bears an uncanny resemblance to Nazi propaganda:

Let me put it in simple explanation for all you brainless peeps out there:
Lovecraft: creator is dead and therefore makes no profit off work and is not given a platform to spread hate, okay to buy and talk about.
FNAF: creator makes profit and has funded conservative campaigns but does not use his voice to support it so its okay to pirate and talk about.
Harry Potter: creator is actively making profit off of and using the popularity to continue hate. will NOT stop spreading hate even if money is stopped through pirating, therefore not okay to buy, pirate, or talk about.
I hope this is fucking simple enough.

Hello Hello! I know it's been a while since you talked about your soonyoung au so I hope it's okay to send this ask, but I was reading hp fanfictions and a fic reminded me of your au! I couldn't stop thinking about it involving your characters, even though the plot was totally different. I'll tell you the full story if it's alright with you ? If not , i understand ! it's your headcanon and maybe you don't want different plots on it ☺️ Also I wanted to say that for a couple years it's not felt good interacting with the hp fandom , I somehow feel guilty for still enjoying it when everyone points out the problems in the books. So reading your headcanons really feels so nostalgic and safe without the guilt! It's so beautiful that you brought the magic world to life again with our different kpop characters! 💜💜💜
Hi hi !! You're always welcome here 💛 And of course I'd love to hear about the fic !! Listening to headcanons is one of my favorite things to do !! It gets my frontal cortex working(;´д`)ゞ
I understand what you mean about interacting with the hp fandom (fuck jkr!!!! I wish her eternal misery). I've always been the type of person to believe that an artist is represented in their art, so I would rather sleep on the subway tracks than put my own money into her evil pockets. Even some of the content within the books are problematic, and they can't be ignored, so thank you for acknowledging that
I suppose that at this point, the people of the fandom are the backbone of what it is today -- all the artists, writers, and content creators. Like you said, it's precisely the people who bring this magical universe to life. We're just here to reclaim this fantastical world with hawt seggsi wizards. Gryffindor soonyoung and ravenclaw mc are whoever we want them to be !! And that is all things good in this world. Sugar, spice and everything nice. I just hope that others find fanfiction to be a safe place for them with all things considering ;n;

I have feelings so Imma dump em on my blog. Fyi this is not about one specific thing or person or drama, this has been my feelings after being in this fandom since early 2020.
I think some people in the marauders fandom have distanced themselves so far from jkr that they did a full 360 and are either equally or more problematic than the author they condemn.
i have seen so much transphobia, antisemitism, blatant racism, classism, and plain ol’ harmful rhetoric in this fandom and I am not just talking about in fic. (IMO fic writers can write whatever they want so long as they tag properly so readers can choose what they wanna read. obv within reason if youre just writing hate speech gfy)
I don’t know how old these people are who are doing these things and since I have been involved in fandom since I was 13 (i’m 29 now) I can be somewhat understanding if these folks are literal children, but some are certainly not.
idk what my point here is besides the marauders fandom (imo) was an offshoot of the hp fandom that seemed like the biggest “F U” to the author. Bringing diversity and nuance to all of her characters that she cared so little about. To be able to challenge the hatred and bigotry in her writing by building our own. to see HER prejudices and overall idiocy in our fandom and community is so sad to me.
grow up. listen to people when they tell you you are being harmful. learn some things in a safe space on the fing internet and not in irl when you could actually fuck up more. try to remember why u joined the fandom in the first place? if it was to flip off jkr, are you really doing that? or are you contributing to the bs?

I bought the wizard game because all the troons were making a big fuss about it. jk rowling did nothing wrong.
Okay look, I need you to take a step back from yourself and your in-group and really see that message, because to a normal person it's nonsensical. I acknowledge that you are trying to insult me, but it's not hitting the mark because "troon" just sounds like something a scifi character would use as currency. This is like when incels were calling women "femoids" like that's supposed to mean something. Get better writers.

JKR is now calling trans women “trans identified men” - while still somehow preaching about the ways that men police “femaleness.” JKR and her allies are the only ones who are allowed to gatekeep who and what counts as a woman, apparently. The hypocrisy here is multilayered - she rebukes someone who has a particular idea of what a woman is, and yet she herself has constructed a similarly limited idea of what a woman is - one that excludes trans women. But also - it’s not an accident that all the targets of this kind of transphobia (“protect women’s sport,” “protect women-only spaces,” “some trans women are abusers”) are trans women - not trans men. Under the guise of feminism, she denies the identities and rights of some of the most vulnerable and systemically oppressed women alive today. Trans women are women. To deny that because it doesn’t conform to your “sex-based” definition of womanhood - THAT is the very definition of misogyny.
