A collection of sketches from the last two months, trying to get more comfortable in drawings again and find out more about my characters. With some of them due certain circumstances I'll have to re-work the story and put them in different places, but still. The sketches include: Lyric (from wich I drew the wrong covered eye in most of the sketches...) from the Inverted AU preparing for her wand ceremony with her parents, queen Skywynne Butterfly and Sir Gavin Gem-Robin Twyla, Ophelia and Lyric pondering about their insecurities ideas of the trio's favorite foods, but that may change la creatura(tm) edition, uncolored Twyla and Chloe, a canon character elevated to second protagonist of the Meteora AU, her only change being that she's two years older (16) and now has a more ethnic hairstyle ideas for winter clothes, including my starco kid Sky Lyric from the Inverted AU meeting the Lyric from my canon/normal past queens line Duskwynne, Skywynne's sister both in the canon AU (where she dies) and the Inverted AU (where she's still alive) a lineup of characters that I was going to use, but now have to find other stories to put them in, in order they are: Phoenix (he/him), Aelia (she/her), Bellatrix (she/her), Cassandra (any pronouns), Ganymede (she/her) and Vanessa (she/her), also all the wands were designed by aannddrreeww08 sketches of Cassandra as a kid and one of Bellatrix's recurrent nightmares Duskwynne (smoking woman) and Vanessa (blonde in a ponytail) were designed by me! Ophelia (albino with inverted spades), Twyla (ginger with one eye covered) and Sky (book cheekmarks) were designed by @artadorkable Bellatrix (black hair, purple clothes) was designed by @xx-simpfulstar-xx Aelia (giving the middle finger) was designed by @xxsilver-starxx Lyric (pink version) was designed by @neonartistycauseidk the rest were designed by people on deviantart, if I post about them individually I'll put credits or I'll clutter too much of this space

I’m simply torn up about which storyline I should follow for my next chapter. So I figured I’d make a pill out of it and let others help me decide.

I got it down to two different summaries:

Option 1: Lagoona has her first big swim meet coming up and while she does flawless during practice. The pressure of doing well and also having her ghoulfriend, who is also the captain of the fearleading team, watching her causes some unforeseen misfortune. Will she manage to pull through in the end?

Option 2: During one of Frankie and Cleo’s rare alone times (rare by choice as they adore being around their friends but alone time is nice every so often too) Nefera decides to visit Cleo in her dorm. Cleo hasn’t exactly told anyone in her family about Frankie yet so instead of getting the hint Nefera hopes they can just hang together. At the same time Cleo doesn’t get the hint that her sister just wants to be close to her. Maybe Frankie can help the sisters see eye to eye, or is it jar to jar, for once.

Since Spectra, Clawdeen, Howleen, and Twyla were featured heavily in the previous I decided I’d give them a break and have them as background which is why they aren’t part of the choices.

If you choose the third feel free to tell me all about it however you want. I want to make this a long and fun series for everyone so I’m open to most anything.

Belladonna Nightshade - Halloween Dark Fairy

Base Doll: G3 Twyla from Monster High Clothing Pattern: Dollightful's Asymmetrical Dress (read to the end, I have notes about this)

Happy Halloween everyone! Since becoming a doll customizer, my Halloween dolls are usually related to my favorite indie horror game, Bendy and the Ink Machine. However, seeing as I've completed two Bendy dolls already this year, I felt it was time to give myself a break and try something a bit different. My friends over in DollyAnna's Discord server wanted to do a collaboration, so we decided to all make some Dark Fairies for Halloween!

Belladonna Nightshade is a mischievous fae that loves to play tricks and tempt mortals. That said, she's easily bribed with a sweet treat or two, and will usually let you be if you have a little candy or pastry to give her. I haven't decided what I want to do with her yet in terms of a story, but there is a part of me that would love to have her in my Equinox story.

When you consider the fact that most of my other Halloween dolls are black and yellow, it's no surprise she ended up super colorful. XD Would you believe this is my first doll with rainbow hair? Yeah neither did I, but she is! Part of my style is having really colorful and vibrant dolls, it surprises a lot of people that I've never done a rainbow before, but honestly? I'm glad to have finally tackled one! I'm also glad to have worked with another G3. Twyla is very near and dear to my heart, and I was so psyched to work with her mold! You can't see it in any of these photos, but I used glow in the dark varnish on her eyes and neon markings, so that her eyes still glow like the original. I will say, this doll has a lot more acrylic paint than my others, just by the nature of I don't have any pencils in neon colors. It was nice to get the practice in, I feel more confident than I did before in my brush skills. It was also nice to have a doll with dark scleras for a change! I haven't done that since I made Dreamer, it's surprisingly fun to draw on!

I was inspired by a LOT of different things with this one, and I went back and forth on my concepts a lot. Black light skeleton make-up, butterflies, fairies with non-traditional wings, candy, jesters, these were all sources of inspiration, and I think most obviously of all, Dollightful herself. This wasn't intentional, but I ended up using a doll of one of her favorite characters, with a lot of saturated colors which we know she loves, and even her dress pattern! I've been wanting to make this garment for ages, and finally I had a reason to try it!

So those of you who know how this pattern works are probably asking "Kat, how did you make this fit a G3? This dress is supposed to fit a G1 Monster High doll!" Believe it or not, Requiem Arts has a method for easily adjusting G1 patterns to fit G3 bodies. It's as simple as scaling a pattern up to 104% and printing it that way. It's meant for her garments, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work for other doll patterns. So I tried it with Katherine's dress, and I'm happy to say it worked out just fine! I think I probably should have adjusted a bit more on the skirt though. This outfit is essentially two pieces, and the skirt with all the ruffles is a little tight around the booty, it could have used a little more sizing up. So if you own this pattern and want to try this yourself, do keep that in mind!

Do let me know what you think! I had so much fun working on Belladonna, she's so vibrant and fun, I wanna try more fairies like her someday. I also need to try using props more. I got these pumpkins and hay bales on sale, and it was fun using them to craft a little temporary set for photos.

I decided that after the end of 12 Dancing Princesses the girls were able to use magic and/or the magic flowers to create new magic worlds. My head canon was always that the pavilion was a little pocket universe their mother created just for them. The reason they only got three visits, is because they were meant to build their own. Their mom probably intended to teach them in the pavilion. But I'm sure they find a way to learn magic after she's gone. So, here's what I think each of the girls would create for themselves!

Ashlyn: she's the oldest of 12 siblings, so hers will be a simple, quiet place where she can go to relax. Somewhere comfy she can kick up her feet.

Blair: her world will be the biggest, filled with space to ride as well as some magical horses. I'm picturing dramatic cliffs and pine forests with winding trails.

Courtney: obviously, a beautiful library! With lots of places to read. She's selective about which sisters she shows it to add to not disturb the peace, but she does have books on hand she thinks those sisters would like.

Delia: I'm imagining something almost country cluby, with croquet, golf, and tennis courts with well manicured lawns and gardens.

Edeline: similar to Delia's. I think she would have statues she could play against, like the gold dancing men in the movie, but she instructs them to learn from her and always give her a real challenge.

Fallon: an island, on one side a beautiful beach with white sand and blooming tropical flowers, with one of those pavilion tent things with the gauzy white fabric flowing in the wind. On the other side of the island is dramatic white cliffs with waves crashing onto rocks below.

Genevieve: I imagine hers would be similar to the one in the movie. With the addition of a cat playground for twyla.

Hadley & Isla: yeah I'm lumping them together because I don’t think they're super distinctive. Their's would be a wild jungle full of huge trees to climb, vines to swing on, and maybe a rushing river so they can raft down the rapids.

Janessa: her paradise would be full of bugs, which I don't really want to think about. Uhh maybe a butterfly garden? I could handle that.

Kathleen: beautiful gardens with tons of colorful plants! And of course easels and art supplies.

Lacey: someplace cozy and safe. I'm thinking a peaceful meadow with swaying grass, bunnies, and wildflowers. In the middle is a little clubhouse where everything is lacey-sized.

DotS Character Facts— Twyla

Twyla, the protagonist of Dreams of the Stars, and quite the enigma!

She's a spirited young girl with a soft voice, but plenty of sass underneath her usually calm demeanor. She's introverted and a bit shy at first, but she does her best to be friendly towards others. The girl's got absolute audacity and has no qualms questioning adults and their logic. She herself thinks critically, and lacks a filter for her thoughts most of the time.

At first, Twyla's really adverse to making new friends due to a sad experience with her previous caretaker and knight-master, Poppeh, but in recent times has begun warming up to it again. Most notably thanks to Fintan Blon'dee, who's now her best friend. He's essentially her extrovert pal, and was absolutely adopted by him. He's just a year older than her at 12!

Twyla's incredibly loyal to those who earn her trust, and will go to great means to ensure their safety, despite being an 11-year-old Puff child.

There's not much known about her past, but what is certain are some intriguing details:

Twyla has a striking resemblance to a certain someone from Meta Knight's past. This has caused him to re-spark an old obsession, going back to searching high and low for answers regarding that person's fate.

She has strange abilities for a Dream Puffball, able to manipulate her own Ability in unusual ways. Nevertheless a strange marking on her right paw which appears to be key for a certain power of hers: something Meta Knight coined as "Rebound", due to its similar nature to Copy. One would first think it's strange that Meta Knight knows so much about Rebound, but then again, he's the guy who knows everything anyhow, so it's really no surprise.

Her acid green eyes are terrifying to see in the dark, especially since she's at the age where they glow pretty brightly at night.

Twyla was raised on stories of the Star Warriors, and so is quite a fan of a few. However Poppeh was bad at remembering most names, so he had his own titles for these intrepid heroes. This has left Twyla to discover her greatest heroes through their histories rather than their names.

Twyla has a 'pet' ethereal butterfly, which has been her companion since she was an infant. She calls it by the name "Pops", among other nicknames.

Her starship, when in good condition, is devastatingly fast and nimble. It's designed to cloak itself entirely, and is chock full of tricks and traps for possible assailants. The ship's objective has always been to protect its pilot, so this made rescuing Twyla next to impossible due to its evasive protocols. However, there was one person who almost captured the ship many, many years ago...

Twyla was never taught how to swim. However, she's buoyant, and floats like a confused little birdie. Now that she's under the care of Rovy, Alphonse, and their pal Pepper, she might get the chance to learn!

She's still learning a lot about her own people, and is very excited to meet new Puffs! During her travels, she had never met one of her kind due to their scarcity. However, on Popstar, they've amassed in abundance! She's become fast friends with Kirby especially, alongside some other oddball Lost Stars (orphan Puffs) under Lillian's care.

Twyla's fur is very soft like kitten fur, but she's also is kinda touchy about being hugged or held by people she doesn't know.

Despite having trust issues, she's still learning about stranger danger, and lacks the social skills to tell a good person from bad due to her own lack of socialization in her earlier years.

Her ship's cockpit is loaded with merch for all kinds of Star Warriors, most importantly Captain Zeelo Zeidric. Safe to say she's a HUGE fan of Captain Zeidric!

The beginning and end to the Creepover 2 parter featuring Howleen is up and I learned a valuable lesson. In Honkai Star Rail, I match you with...

I'm not super familiar with Arlan's personality yet so hopefully this isn't too out of character!

Arlan's not super into science stuff but he does pick up on a few things working on the Herta Space Station. He'll also try his best to keep up with whatever you're telling him about whatever scientific field has caught you interest.

Would enjoy stargazing with you. The space station is the perfect place to do that anyway and Arlan knows all of the best spots to stargaze from.

His favourite part of stargazing with you though is watching you while you explain everything you know about each constellation. He can't help it. He just thinks your pretty while talking about things you're passionate in. Don't mention the soft smile or the blush on his face...

Love your book by the way! Just recently started reading it and i can’t stop reading.

Oh yeah they changed a lot, Lightning wouldn’t usually be this mean and more Zeus like if Destiny was still around. He wouldn’t cheat on Air… doesn’t give him an excuse but it’s one of the main big reason why he does so. Same with sea and his cheating though he would had probably asked Sally much earlier if she would like to join them, and would had told coral about Sally- kitty would had been born and raise under her father and two mothers

If Destiny wasn’t taken, Nazrat wouldn’t have happen, Twyla would had been raised by her mother AND Father and all her siblings would have been there, though she would always be closer to Death

Magic as the oldest of the Great Five is on par with Death and Twyla, she has her own realm where fairies are born, she is the ruler of the fae… she mostly secludes herself in her realm unless she is called for… unlike the rest of her siblings she keeps her wings out like her parents and they are like butterfly wings, brilliant blue that seem to glow in the darkness with patterns of black, orange, yellow (think monsterverse mothra’s wings)

She doesn’t have a Chosen, though unlike Twyla it’s because she doesn’t really want one. She would be classified as aroace and had vowed years ago to never get one after a war almost started when a bunch of immortals and mortals tried to fight for the position. Though she does have two companions, two fairies that sit on her shoulders and likes to sing her songs to calm her down
