i didn't play ea but this just reads like they made him less interesting? they entirely removed his flaws, made him generic, deleted the potential for personality progression towards better/worse that every other companion has. what for, who would give feedback like this

Thoughts about Regulus’s reaction to one of his niblings marrying a halfblood or muggleborn? ♥️

I think he'd be able to come around to a halfblood marriage without too much fuss. If he's mostly reformed and the halfblood in question has old wizarding roots on their magic side, he might even be agreeable. He'd probably make a comment here or there at a family dinners about the individual in question's bloodline that would make everybody uncomfortable, but that he would think is lighthearted and completely appropriate.

I think he'd be upset about a muggleborn though. I can't see how he wouldn't, even at his most reformed. He's always going to have a residual desire to "preserve the bloodline", imo, even if he accepts that muggleborns ought to have equal rights in society and whatnot. Muggleborns are alright to socialize with, to be friends with, but his niblings throwing their extra pure Black blood away on a muggleborn would be egregious to him and he would be angry with Sirius for encouraging that sort of careless disregard for blood status and "heritage".

I'm sure he'd be very passive aggressive about the whole thing. I can see him trying to set the nibling up with eligible purebloods and when he's confronted about it, saying, "oh, I had no idea you were still engaged. I assumed that was over with." Or like, sitting the nibling down for a heart to heart because he's very concerned that their self-image is damaged when surely they must know that they can find a better spouse - someone who is better suited to them and who can understand their unique position in the world, and other such ways to dance around saying "you ought to be marrying a pureblood and there's something wrong with you if you don't."

so I was on the el yesterday with a big honking canvas---there was a sale, so I bought a 30x40---and happened to sit down across from an older gentleman, who naturally asked if I was an artist?

because he was an artist too, he explained; he worked in acrylics, splatters like Jackson Pollack---even though his current apartment was pretty small, and he gets paint on the walls, on his shoes. (he did have paint on his shoes.)

(in hindsight, I really appreciate his body language---he was leaning back, his hands crossed over his stomach with his feet up on the seat in front of him. It telegraphed ‘I will not be moving any closer to you�� which made it a lot easier to have the conversation in the first place)

and we talked about being retired and rental prices in Seattle (where he goes once a year to visit family) and Chicago, and the problem of taggers, because he likes painting murals and if he has to paint over tags it delays his work.

(I did not get the sense that anyone hires him to paint murals, he just does, when a white wall pops up nearby.)

in the grand scheme of things, it was nothing---maybe 15 minutes out of my day---but it carried me through the rest, that little interaction. I liked that even when he talked about how small his apartment is, how infrequently he sees family, he did so through the lens of making art. I hope he had a good weekend.
