raven absolutely feels let down by her team—aka her family—and looking at it from her perspective, i get it. it's the same as when blake couldn't understand how her parents could still love her after how she left, and why wouldn't she? from what we know, ghira and kali did nothing to look for her, to make sure she was doing okay. it's very easy to question whether they actually cared about her in that situation, and as more time passes, come to believe it as truth.
is that not what happened with raven? she left, reasons and events preceding that decision unknown, and from the looks of things, no one from her team looked for her—at least, they didn't find her, but considering what raven's semblance is, it's not hard to believe they didn't even bother looking because raven could come back whenever she wanted.
and what do you know:
"after all, you found me, didn't you? why not take that drive and use it to find your little sister if she means that much to you?"
qrow makes it clear that their meetings happen from raven's initiative only. tai would have been busy raising his kids, as would have been summer before her mission, which could have taken her to meet raven—but family only comes around when they need something, so did it really matter at that stage anymore?
"we had each other." that's the point of ruby's speech that gets a reaction out of raven, a small change in her expression, a reminder of something that used to be, before it steels again; did they have each other? i get the feeling raven doesn't feel that way. it wasn't the case at least when it mattered the most.
they talked the talk, but they didn't walk the walk.
and qrow keeps asking her to come back, but what is there to come back to? a constant reminder how quickly everyone moved on, like she didn't exist? a house that they might have lived in once upon a time, left to rot and be taken over by the grimm?
how much would you think your family really cared about you after all of that?

Loki at Paley Fest 2024
Tumblr media
It was incredible! I'm so happy I got the opportunity to attend, and it uplifted my spirits so much. I really hope Paley makes the panel available for everyone to watch at some point because the questions and discussion were pithy, thoughtful, and engaging. Just a stellar panel. If it doesn't become publicly available, I'll try to circle back to post more detail of what was discussed.
Hiddleston was absolutely firing on all cylinders being his eloquent self going on long explorations of themes and the human condition. I think the most memorable was when he was exploring the relationship of Loki's line "Satisfaction is not in my nature" from a previous film to the events of the Loki series and whether that was relevant or not relevant to where the character arrived at in the series.
First of all, kudos to the host of the panel (also writer of a MCU timeline book) that came with receipts and Loki and Hiddleston quotes from over a decade ago that he used to ask really interesting questions that explored Loki's journey and highlighted the beautiful ways Hiddleston has thought about playing the role over years. He just did an excellent, excellent job, and is the one that brough up the "satisfaction is not in my nature" quote to prompt discussion.
And let's be honest, I think a lot of panelists, whose job is to sound engaging and fill up panel time, when asked to explore the relationship of that "not satisfied" quote to the most recent content they filmed, would just turn on their "I'm in English class" brain and run with the prompt and improvise some ideas of how the theme of not being satisfied is shown in the series. But rather than just running with and affirming the prompt, Hiddleston actually thought about it sincerely and turned it around answering in the negative, that he wasn't sure if that still applied in the series. So instead of just running with the prompt, he cared enough about the art to give it the most truthful answer he could. I saw that aspect of how he approaches discussion when I met him in person at a comic con a number of years ago as well, that interest in exploring something sincerely rather than doing the easier thing of just running with whatever is expedient, and I love that about him.
And then Wilson displayed great comedic sense and flow of the discussion by capping off Hiddleston's eloquent discussion by doing a sharp right turn into the absurd, pivoting into how "would my dog have any meaning in his life if he was satisfied and had everything he wanted and wasn't constantly eager for his next meal". That got a huge laugh from everyone.
Some other anecdotes from the event:
For the arc of the series, it was described as season 1 being about Loki learning to love himself and season 2 was about learning to accept connections and let the love of others in.
Hiddleston's wardrobe was lovely -- all black and dark grey, with bright red tread on the bottom of his shoes for which sitting at a panel with your legs crossed is the perfectly opportunity to show off that pop of color.
I was also digging Aaron Moorhead's style with a grey top half and orange pants and shoes with blue socks. Love this trend of men making bold color choices in their wardrobe.
Hiddleston was, unsurprisingly, very engaged with the whole discussion and it was fun to watch his reactions when other people spoke. The host asked the writers/directors if they'd created S2 with it in mind of it being Loki's last appearance or whether we might see more of Loki in the future. Wilson playfully said "he comes the tap dancing" and Hiddleston very deliberately turned towards the writers/directors with his chin on his fist like "I'm so curious to hear the answer, do tell".
Sylvie ended up in a McDonalds in S2 because when Di Martino got asked at the end of season 1 where she saw Sylvie going next, she told them "she's hungry, I bet she'd go for a burger". So Di Martino takes full responsibility for that particular decision, lol.
Because comedy films aren't my thing and Wilson hasn't crossed my personal radar much besides Zoolander, which is a delightful film, I found it very interesting and wasn't necessarily expecting just the thunderous amount of applause and huge reception that Wilson got from the audience. He's very popular.
During the panel, every so often a little piece of paper, like 2x2 inches, the kind you'd use to create the effect of dumping a bunch of confetti, would fall from the rafters above the stage and slowly float down until it landed on the stage itself in front of the panel. The first time was peculiar, but it continued to happen five distinct times throughout the panel and became a bit of a running joke.
Before the Q&A, they screened the finale episode, and they did not have their tech sorted out. The film didn't play at a consistent 24 fps and there were parts that lagged and slowed down the motion on screen. A minor thing really, but for an organization whose sole purpose and mission is media (Paley), in a venue (the Dolby Theater) that hosts the Oscars and should be technologically state of the art, you'd think they'd make sure they could play video at proper speed. I just thought it was a funny issue for a media organization to have.
Tagging @delyth88 since I know you were interested in hearing about it.

J2 JIB11 Panel
The stars aligned and this year both boys were able to attend JIB which means we got a j2 panel! 🙌
There was a cute and funny moment at the beginning of the panel because Jared went to give Jensen a fist bump but he didn't notice and I guess Jared told him and he cracked up laughing and then they fist bumped. Jared shares that their flight got delayed, and that morning he was signing something and a fan asked him how he was and he replied that he was good that he actually felt awake even though he didn't look it and she just went "oh, i know. your face" 😆 To be fair, both of them do look and sound tired.
Also, you'll notice both are wearing Gucci jackets, they were a gift to them and M from Daniela the organizer of this event.
Jumping into the questions, first one up is: Has there ever been a moment on set where they had to overcome their, or one of, their greatest fears to shoot the scene? For Jared the thing that comes to mind is French Mistake. He says it's one of the most nervous times he's been on the spn set due to all the comedic stuff. He didn't feel comfortable doing comedy as Sam, so he would get really nervous when Sam had to be funny because he was like "Sam’s not really funny he’s kind of just chill". He got really nervous shooting some of the comedic scenes but that otherwise it was pretty fun even the stunt stuff.
Jensen agress and says he doesn’t think there was ever a greatest fear moment while they were filming spn. That they’re doing network tv which is pretty tame in the world of television and they don’t really write stuff that he thinks would be too out of their comfort zone, and after a few seasons the writers knew what their comfort zone was and kind of played in that and utilized it. He was more uncomfortable doing stuff in The boys.
Jared says he looked comfortable, and Jensen replies "it’s called acting dear boy. I was not comfortable". He says that he was very nervous in a few of those scenes, so much so that he called his mom and told her she'd want to skip the show, that she was not the target audience.
Jared asks him if he has ever shared the story about him calling Kripke and saying he was unsure about some things. He has. Jensen says there were a few scenes he was asked to do that he didn't know he had a line but Kripke found it and Jensen couldn't cross it, he has children who may grow up and see this. Says he thinks there was supposed to be more revealed when Soldier Boy was revealed for the first time and there was supposed to be a little bit more intimacy when Soldier Boy had his fun with the ladies. And he once again shares about how his first day on set, the very first scene he had to film was stepping out of the capsule in front of his new cast and crew butt naked.
Jared makes a joke that he has some of the behind the scenes stuff and he’ll post it later and Jensen quips no pun intended 🤣 We know you do baby 😏
Jared also adds that the most nervous he ever got on the set of spn for another person was the scene where Sam gets hit by a car. It wasn’t him, and their stunts while not dangerous were intense but they felt they could take the hit or do whatever but when his stunt man Mike Carpenter did that scene, he had short hair so they put a bald cap on him and put like a thick liquid padding and then the Sam wig and that’s all he had covering his skull for getting hit by a car. And with this type of stunt there's no way to really control it like the way you land, you just have to try your best not to land on your skull. So they do it the first time, they're watching it wondering if he's gonna get up he does, then the second time his foot got caught on the bumber and he got dragged, and the third time he got up and usually stunt actors and actresses they can have like a broken bone and still say they're all good and ask if they need to do it again but this time he got up and said he was done.
Going back to The Boys, Jensen tells the story about how there's a scene where he picks up Karl Urban's character Butcher, throws him over his head and slams him into a desk, obviously this was done with a stunt guy who was wired up cause Jensen's supposed to be super strong flinging this dude over his body with one arm. So at the appex which is when he's right above Jensen's head, they let the wires lose and Jensen actually slammed him as hard as he could into the desk, they’re not slowing the guy down and the first time he did it Jensen was surprised and was like "omg are you okay???" The dude popped back up, said he was fine, to do it again to which Jensen was like ' I don't wanna' but they did and once Jensen got used to it he felt like a beast. x
What's the stupidest injury they’ve ever got on any set? Jared asks, "how much time you got?"
Jensen says they both have a list of these but the first that comes to mind he thinks it was Wendigo, when he was pulling the gun out of the back of the Impala- Jared corrects him this injury actually happened during Hook Man. Basically, he was grabbing a riffle and he pulled it from the center of the gun and the butt of it got caught on the edge of the trunk and the barrel came up and hit him on the eye, and split him open. He says it was pretty stupid and self inflected too so he has no one to blame but himself.
Jared tells the story of how when they filmed the scene where Leviathan!Sam and Dean rob the bank, they’re supposed to fire off some rounds to get everyone’s attention but his gun was too high so it was out of frame and couldn't be seen so he was asked to keep it lower so he did thing is this is a gun he had never shot before- Jensen says that if it had been a normal gun Jared would have been fine but that this one was a weird russian fully automatic machine gun. Anyways, they do the next take with Jared holding it lower and as he starts firing, something is hurting, he can immediately feel something is wrong so he stops and says he thinks he has to do something different and he looks over at Jensen who's kinda looking at him- Jared had managed to burn himself with the hot brass casings as they were ejecting so he had a bunch of ash burn marks, some of which were bleeding from the impact, across his face. Jared also mentions that it was happening so fast that if it had been a bit lower it would have gone right into his eyeball. Let's all be thankful that did not happen! But also, Jared, how are you going to say y'alls stunts weren't dangerous and then tell stories like this.
Also, right before he tells this story he tells Jensen that he's going to know right away where he's going with this and he's right because the moment he says Leviathan!Sam and Dean in the bank Jensen laughs and says this is one of his favorite Jared bonehead moves, and when Jared is telling the story Jensen says that what he loves is that Jared kept going even though he was being hit in the face. x
If they were to attend a con to meet people who would their dream guests to meet be? Jared says this question is similar to the question of if you could have dinner with somebody who would it be, and his initial response to that is are they going to be honest like if he met Obama or some other world leader would they tell him the truth or would they give him canned answers. He thinks he would probably go mostly to musicians, like Eddie Vedder, he thinks actors bore him cause he is one. He finds himself boring so he feels like the soundtrack of his life is what he would go to; Jensen agrees, he goes with musicians as well even though they don’t really do cons that's more an actor thing to do that being said he thinks Keanu Reeves is an interesting guy. He’s trying to think of who he would want to listen to answer questions and speak about things involved in the industry, he wouldn't mind listening to some of the Marvel cast like RDJ strictly for curiosity purposes not like 'omg Iron Man!' but because he thinks RDJ is an interesting fellow who as a lot of interesting things to say about topics he could related to so he would do it more out of curiosity. x
Would they talk about their tattoos?
Jensen says he hasn’t gotten anything new in a while the latest was a little thumb one he got with JDM. Basically they were at a friends (he doesn't mention her by name but Sophia Bush) wedding in Oklahoma and D and Hil were doing something with the bride which meant they had the afternoon free so naturally as one does with JDM you go for beer and tattoos. Jensen says Jared has gotten a few more than he has recently.
Jared replies there’s a few on the list he hasn’t gotten yet, but he has the basquiat crown with JDM and Jensen which they got at JDM's wedding, the day after spn finished he got one with his friend Bruce which is like a geometric design that when asked about what it is he jokes it’s an iphone update it didn't actually have a meaning it's just a random design that he liked how it looked, a star on his bicep, a "come and take it" kind of thing which he says is really cool because he thinks a month later after he got it come and take it become a women’s right thing in Texas, and he also has an homage to Dr. Seuss story Oh, the Places You'll Go! with a T for Tom, A for Austin which is Shep's name and a little moon for Odette.
They ask if the fan has any tattoos, she does, she has an AKF one and also one for the band A-ha who sing Take On Me and Jared comments he and Jensen have both tried and failed to do the high note from that song. I would love to have seen that. x
If they were to go to comic con and dress up, what would they dress up as? Jensen says his go to would be Red Hood and Batman since he already has those costumes, but the fan says besides those and as he's thinking Jared says Bullwinkle 😂 And Jensen laughs and says, yeah, Rocky and Bullwinkle. I would pay money to see them dress up as Rocky and Bullwinkle 🤣
Jared also says Boba fett, he’d like something with a mask cause he’d like the experience of being around people who are passionate about stuff and not have it be flavored by like "aren’t you that guy who was on Gilmore Girls?” Jensen says he'd go as the screen character cause that just seems very comfortable.  x
What has made them remain best friends for so long? The boys joke, Jared saying it's been way too long and Jensen saying that for the most part it’s been contractual 😂
Jared says it's never been bullshit. Since day one they’ve gotten along and the why? Who knows. They have a similar up bringing and background and likes and dislikes and he thinks primarily it's that they got to see each other during their highs and lows. They went through a lot, 15yrs is kindergarten through college and he saw Jensen and what he was going through more than any other human being on the planet and vice versa Jensen saw Jared and what he was going through, his good times, his bad times, everything in between and so you kind of get to really know the soul of somebody not just who they are at their best. You go to a set anywhere you'll probably enjoy most of the people for the first couple of hours, then they get tired or they've had a bad day and they're an asshole or a jerk but he thinks for them it was just like 'hey, you all right?' That it's like they've known each other since birth even though they've actually known each other less than 20yrs. They kind of had a fastforwarded into the fire and they had each other's back and he guesses that's why, that he wishes he knew. Jared, my darling, you just described soulmates! That person who from the moment you meet you feel like you've known them your whole life with whom you have a connection and a bond that you can't explain- that's your soulmate! 🥹
Jensen thinks there's also that SPN is the biggest thing that has happened to their careers so far, and arguably it's one of the biggest things that has happened to their lives, it's certainly changed both their lives from pre-SPN to now and to have another person understand the multitude of levels on how that changed your life to the degree in which he and Jared know each other he thinks it kind of bonds you in a way that's really indescribable. Nobody understands what his life has been like for the past almost 2 decades more than Jared does because he was pretty much right next to him the whole time and he was also going through the same stuff both personally and professionally that Jensen was going through and that really bonds people in a way that's really indescribable. And that it's a good thing they got along and that they laugh at the same jokes, and like the same music, and cheer for the same sports teams that there's just a lot in common thankfully so when they were put in that situation where they were gonna be side by side for as long as they were it was really easy and enjoyable.
Jared also comments that he thinks in general, not just with working relationships or friendships, but with romantic relationships as well or family relationships he thinks it's extremely important to be able to tell somebody when something hurt you or bothered you, and vice versa to listen when someone goes like 'hey, this happened and it felt off base or it didn't feel cool' and for that person to listen cause if you're really good friends with anybody or are close with anybody you'll have disagreeements and you'll go 'well, here's where I'm coming from, help me to understand where you're coming from' and you'll listen and be like 'got it, let's move forward. ' So it's important just with anybody that you care about to shoot straight. x
A big part of acting is dealing with rejection how do they both deal with keeping motivation in trying to act when getting rejected? Jared says this reminds him of a story of when he was still on Gilmore Girls.
He was auditioning like half a dozen times a week for other projects, and he had bought a house in the valley in LA, and a friend of his then girlfriend came over for like a housewarming party and he was showing her around and by his bed in his bedroom he had a stack of 12 or 15 scripts all stuff he was reading and hoping to get an audition for, and she looked over and asked if those were all the auditions he'd been on, Jared kind of laughed and told her to follow him and walked her over to the garage where he had cardboard boxes full of scripts. He had 300 to 400 scripts of auditions he had been on in the past 3 to 4 years.
He thinks the way he deal with rejection now is to treat auditions or meetings as maybe it’s my performance, maybe this is my chance to play this character and also now that he and Jensen have been on the producing side he realizes how silly casting sometimes gets, there can be 5 people who do an amazing job but they're going to be acting with a brunette and they don't want them to look to similar so they decide to go with a blonde or vice versa, or someone is 5'11 and that's too tall to play a 14 year old because they'll be acting with someone whose 5'3 so it comes down to random things. And that's helped a little bit, seeing the vagaries of casting and subtle nuances that don't even really make sense so he tries to go 'all right, I do my best and if that's the last time I get to play the character then so be it'. (sidenote: Jared pulling out the fancy words, first time in my life hearing the word vagaries)
Jensen says he thinks as one gets older your way of dealing with rejection changes. He and Jared have had really great succes so far in their lives and in their career so when there's rejection now he thinks they can both stand firm on the fact that they've been validated by a multitude of people and their career reflects that so that if somebody says 'no, we don't want you for that role' or 'no, we don't like that idea for a show that you're pitching' they'd be like okay, maybe it's not the right time, maybe they just don't see that vision, maybe they're looking for something else- at this point he quips that maybe they want somebody that's not so oddly tall and Jared quips back or oddly bowlegged 😆 But also that as Jared said knowing what they know about being on the other side of it has really kind of drawn the curtain back and see how a lot of times how ridiculous this process can be in getting to that final stage. So, he thinks they deal with it a little differently now. That early on, when they didn't have that affirmation to kind of rely on it was just thick skin, you had to develop thick skin, somebody says you're not good enough you had to know in your heart that you were good enough and that person just didn't see it. x
Last question, what does Dean mean to Jared and what does Sam mean to Jensen? Jared starts to answer that now, after a couple of years of spn being over cause it's been around two and a half years since they finished filming and I guess the fan thought Jared was throwing an indirect about asking this question after spn has been over for a while so they say it's because this question was prepared a long time ago, and Jared has to clarify that's not what he meant- it was actually a little funny, the fan didn't say it in a rude way or anything like that more like a clarification.
But anyways, Jared says he has more hindsight now and that he'd rather answer this question now than 2 or 3 years ago so where he stands now it's difficult for him to try and differentiate what Dean meant and what Jensen meant all he can say is that he learned a lot from both and a lot of the reason he's the man that he is and the actor he is is because he spent 15yrs looking at Jensen and then they're calling action and he was looking at Dean so it's hard to kind of really parse out exactly what he got- says he got his dad voice from Dean to which Jensen says that so has he, Jared continues saying he learned every step of the way and he thinks it was really exciting. That a lot of what he really liked about Dean was his keep going attitude and that's very similar to Jensen kind of like 'yeah, this sucks but we gotta get through it' or 'all right, we're tired it's 16hrs, it's 4am, it's raining or freezing in Vand and we have to do a fight scene but all right it ain't gonna do itself let's go do it' so that kind of evoked something in him.
Jensen concurs that it's the same for him but also that he knows Sam is a part of Jared, that Sam resides in Jared's personality so getting to see as many times as he did Jared bring that element of himself forward and then take on the embodiment of Sam was like getting to see a specific micro aspect of Jared and how he can mold that and play with that and tell the story using that and he's always thought that he was very gifted in doing so and now he's doing it with another character. He thinks he and Jared, because they weren't classically trained as actors and didn't have any formal training to speak of at all they had to learn to use what they knew and that's essentially themselves, Dean is certainly a part of his personality that is exaggerated, Sam is also a part of Jared's personality that is exaggerated so they got to play this kind of exagerated versions of themselves with each other and then they'd yell cut and they'd go back to being themselves so he really feels it's just part of the package that he got with Jared and he'll forever be grateful for that and he looks forward to the next time he gets to see him morph into Sam. Those are lovely answers 💕

For book ask game, no. 13, 14, 18, 25, 26. Thx :D
Ooh thanks for sending me more book asks!
13. Name a book with a really bad movie/tv adaptation:
Watchmen (2009) by Zack Snyder was a pretty mediocre adaptation of the graphic novel by Alan Moore, from what I remember of both of them (haven't revisited either of them in a long time, but distinctly remember having this opinion back when I first read it... like oh ok, so THIS is what it's actually supposed to be like).
I feel like as a director Zack Snyder is very good at creating epic movie trailer moments or music videos with stylish visuals (this trailer for it looked pretty exciting to me at the time it was new):
youtube
BUT then once you go to the theater and try to sit through one of his movies they usually just end up being just the most soulless drawn-out superficial and boring stuff, like watching a 3 hour long commercial. From what I remember a lot of the creative and innovative storytelling and the depth in the original Watchmen comic comes entirely from how it is presented to the reader on the page, too (with stuff like the layout of the panels and the stories-within-stories "Black Freighter" chapters that were cut out of the film entirely that cleverly parallel the present-day action, etc). Definitely recommend reading the graphic novel over watching this movie!
14. Name a book where the movie/tv adaptation is better than the original: Requiem for a Dream (2000) was a better experience as a crazy edgy depressing movie than it was as a novel by Hubert Selby Jr. to me:
youtube
I first saw this movie without having any idea what to expect when I was about 16, and even though it's pretty shocking in parts and upsetting to watch I remember really loving it back then and thinking of it as one of my favourite films at the time (I think I had a higher tolerance for certain kinds of edgelord stuff in my stories back in those days sometimes too, haha). This movie has always felt bit like a comic or a live action horror cartoon to me somehow? I think that it kinda goes too far a bit and nearly verges on comedy instead of tragedy at the end due to just how absurd and nightmarish it gets, but perhaps that almost unbelievable heightenedness of it all is kind of why it often feels a bit like a comic or a cartoon to me, too. And I still think there's quite a bit here to enjoy even despite the edginess as well. I think the acting is often very good, the soundtrack and the sound effects and the stylish visuals are great, and that the whole thing effectively creates a lot of very strong emotions like tension and dread and tenderness and wistfulness and loneliness and horror. It's maybe the only Darren Aronofsky film I actually like?
HOWEVER whenever I read the book that it was based on a few years ago I could barely get past the stylistic choices of the writer to enjoy what was being said (he wrote it in the 70s in sort of a dated stream-of-consciousness type writing style without many paragraph breaks or any quotation marks for separating the dialogue or the inner monologue from the prose, which I just found really annoying and off-putting to read). And the part about the book I liked the best, which was the colourful and extremely memorable dialogue and the slang that the characters use, was taken almost verbatim from the book and brought to life well on the screen too, so the whole time I was reading it I was just wanting to hear it said by the movie characters again instead. idk, I think it's a movie I'd definitely watch again sometime, but not a book I'd ever read again. Just more entertaining and less of a slog that way.
18. Which character from a book is the most like you?
Oh, very good question! Hmm... there are certain characters I relate to a lot for various reasons, but i don't know if anybody would say I'm extremely like them, probably? Of the books I've read more recently I feel like I'm sort of a bit of a Frodo character or something, maybe... his personality and his peaceful lifestyle before he gets sent on his adventure just feel very much like how I'd probably be living and socializing with everybody in the Shire myself, and the way he handles stuff like the burden of the ring on him and his reasons for doing things and how he worries about his friends who insist on sticking by his side and acts sort of secretive and more reserved feels relatable to me as well.
25. If you could be a character from a book for just one day who would you be and why? (Bonus: any specific day in the story?)
I want to be Wilbur the pig from Charlotte's Web getting a buttermilk bath and then eating the trough full of leftovers he gets (as a kid I remember thinking the lengthy descriptions of all the table scraps he was eating sounded really good for some reason, and the buttermilk bath sounded delicious to me as well lol).
26. If you could be a character from a book for their entire life who would you be and why?
I think it'd be pretty fun to be Lestat from the Vampire Chronicles because from what I remember he never feels guilty or angsty about much for too long, and he just knows how to have a good time no matter what. Even when he gets super bored or super depressed and then goes catatonic for a while he always eventually manages to bounce back and find something or someone new and interesting to get enthusiastic about and involved with again. He experiences things deeply and in an open-minded way while still never getting too burnt out by it or jaded about it either. If ever I were cursed to become immortal then I think his is the kind of personality that would make it the most enjoyable, anyway.

Snippet of the WIP you are currently working on?
trust doesn't come cheap, aka where Regis learns who brought his body to Cerberus and confronts Miranda about it, among other things.
“But you do have me, and I’m here however you need me,” Zaeed replied, leaning in close.  Regis closed the distance between them, more free and open with his affection now that he met up with Kaidan, that they were able to clear the air and open the possibility for more.  That their triad can and will continue one day. Zaeed pushed him up against the wall, the same spot where Regis first saw him on Omega, threatening a target. The feeling of the cold, hard panel sent a shiver down Regis's spine, heightening the intensity of the moment. Regis let out a pleased sound, letting Zaeed take over despite where they were, submitting to his advances. Regis moaned against his lips, about to grind up against him, but someone cleared their throat a short distance from them.  “I wouldn’t say this is the best time and place, Commander.”    “And why is it that you care, Lawson?” Regis asked with a hard glare, his earlier desire replaced by irritation at the intrusion.  She stood with an arched eyebrow, a hint of curiosity in her expression. She folded her arms across her chest, seemingly unfazed by the situation, her confidence unshaken. Changed out of her normal Cerberus dress “whites,” she wore a long khaki coat belted around her body, a clean and pristine look that suited her well. Out of all the fucking people to interrupt… but perhaps this was a good opportunity to go ahead and get that damn conversation out of the way.  Zaeed slowly pulled away, tilting his head to the side as if to ask if Regis was going to go ahead and deal with what he learned from Aria.  Regis nodded, answering the silent question. “I assumed you wouldn’t want the crew to gossip about your love life,” she replied, keeping her expression neutral.  “Or perhaps even beyond that.  Word travels fast about you.” Regis wouldn’t have called it concern, the barb at the end seeming to signify she was talking about the Alliance being aware of him… and all his connections there.  As if she was baiting him, dangling the knowledge that she knew about his relationship with Kaidan. And what that could mean if he were to learn of this "affair." “You’re right.  Word does travel fast about me.  Shame that it took me a while to learn who exactly handled my body here on this fucking station,” Regis said, watching her eyes widen in recognition.  The truth hung in the air between them. She stepped back.  The gravity well stirred.   “I knew your word was full of shit, but I never expected this,” he continued, staying against the wall.  “We are going to have a long talk.”
I think I've seen most of my fellow writers tagged so... if you see this and want to share, go ahead :D

🥤 ⇢ recommend an author or fanfic you love i answered this already, but let's do another rec! and let's make it another stranger things fic since that's what i've been reading lately. i really have been loving the fics where steve and eddie were friends/romantically involved secretly pre-s4, so here's another one:
the man that i could be by ohstars (26/26 | 325k+ | Ex) steddie; post-s3 canon divergent; fix it; angst w/ a happy ending; steve-centric
"steve harrington isn't straight. it's been a few weeks since he sat on that bathroom floor at starcourt with robin, where she shared her biggest secret with him and unintentionally unlocked an entirely new side of steve. since he’s had to come to terms with being open to exploring that side of him, but he's finally acknowledged that he's most likely, definitely, without a doubt into guys." -- after coming to terms that he may be queer, steve harrington does a little exploration on his own and meets the one and only eddie munson. just as things are going well and accepted the fact he's falling for eddie in their own little bubble, steve's world is shaken by a tragedy he can't quite talk about. and when the dust settles and he's nearly ready to put the pieces back together, his worlds collide when he realizes his eddie is the same eddie playing d&d with the kids. the same eddie who's now wanted for murder thanks to another upside down monster. how will he save the day when he can barely focus watching his ex mingle with his monster fighting team?
🔪 ⇢ what’s the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project? uhhh, i don't know that i've ever researched anything SUPER weird, but for taste your beating heart i did research into the believed magical properties of different flowers and stages of the moon. that's not something i personally, as someone who doesn't even buy into zodiac signs as anything more than fun nonsense to read with friends, would have ever researched but i went pretty deep to get that info.
🎨 ⇢ link your favourite piece of fanart and explain why you like it here's a random deepcut: i LOVE this hamlet piece from @binary-bird that's set post-canon as horatio's haunted by the ghost of hamlet and set to the lyrics of tranquilize by finish ticket. i have reblogged this piece SO MANY times and i will continue to do so—something about inversing the traditional black-and-white of the comics so that the panels are flooded in black and the characters/text is in white feels v apt for a ghostly apparition. also it's just??? so appropriate for horatio to be haunted by the ghost of hamlet, when the play is full of ghosts (and questions as to if the ghosts in question are real! is hamlet truly haunted by his father? is he going mad? is he using it as an excuse to avenge his father's memory? in this new scenario: is horatio truly being haunted by hamlet, or does he just miss hamlet SO MUCH that he's imagining his vision coming to him?) i love it

Now that we're entering into 2024, I'm asking some artists and writers that I follow:
1) What is the one piece you're most proud of from this past year?
2) What are some pieces that you would have liked more people to see? If you can include links, I'd love to go check them out!
3) What were your top three favorite pieces (art, comics, fics, etc) that someone else has made this past year?
(As always, no pressure to respond! Feel free to just ignore, or let me know if you'd rather I not send you these kinds of asks in the future.)
Hi! Happy New Year!
Those questions are difficult in a sense they make me reflect on the whole year and my memory is very bad so it's weird to think about it. But I'll do my best with the answers!
1. 2023 was the year I started to draw digitally. I got an Ipad for christmas 2022 and I just got sucked into making art. I did draw traditionally here and there, but it was nowhere near the amount of drawing I do now. So I am mostly proud of the overall progress. When I look at the early pieces now, I can see how much better I've got. There is still a lot of work to be done but so far, I'm happy with where I am. As for singular pieces, I'm strangely proud of this one panel from the comic I was working on:
Tumblr media
It's certainly not my best work, but it took me so long to get the perspective right and just. I would do it so much differently now and I hate how the sink looks but just the amount of work I've put into figuring it out makes me really happy.
Also, this drawing of my OC and Mikey! I just love it so much and it makes me feel so good.
Tumblr media
I am also crazy proud of those two drawings. First, cause it took forever to draw all the dark void thingies, second because I love the perspective and the lighting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I know you asked for one piece, but how do I choose? They are all so different!)
As for writing, I'm most proud of the fist fanfiction I finished since high school and writing it was really like a gateway drug back into fandom culture. It's called Happy Birthday and it's a fanfic for Riordanverse, which was my main focus this year before I got sucked into turtles some time in August.
2. This light study and this mini comic
3. Again, how can I choose when there are so many crazy talented artists? So much amazing things got made. So I'm just gonna list some that had the most impact on me. First, this comic by @phoebepheebsphibs, which I saw on tiktok before I even watched Rise and it made me cry so hard I went and watched the whole show and now I'm here with a big ass turtle obsession. Secondly, everything that @tangledinink is doing, but especially Gemini. Thirdly, The Little Prince by @beannary . Fourthly (I do not believe it's an actual word) Kid Leo AU by @angelpuns. And yeah I guess I have to say Cass Apocalyptic Series by @somerandomdudelmao but like, everyone is gonna say that, it's such a basic fucking bitch answer but it's so good.
Thank you for the ask!

Here is the Ask Us Anything episode of the podcast.
They had so many questions sent in the could do like 20 episodes of this format.
Did they get to choose where they sat in the choir room? Most of the time the cast got to choose their spots. Sometimes they would choose based on the storyline for that episode. Some directors like Paris would assign them seats. It also depended on the scene and how shots were set up.
What was the hardest song they had to sing on the show? Kevin’s top 3 are Footloose, At Last, and PYT. He had a 102 fever when recorded it. Jenna’s were Dog Day’s, Because You Love Me, and Gangnam Style.
Easiest song: Jenna - Flashdance & Kevin - Stronger by Brittany Spears
What was your least favorite character storyline? Jenna - Artie’s STD storyline & Kevin - Anytime Artie responded to a serious situation super insensitively and Artie’s STD storyline. He said it was fun but insane. Taylor Swift visited the set during this episode. She was working on something at Paramount at the time.
What song would Tina sing from Taylor Swifts first Midnights album? Jenna and Tina would sing Mastermind.
Was there really so much drama like the media reported? There was not so much drama on set. There were peaks and valleys. It was a large cast and sometimes emotions ran high.
Have you signed any NDA’s that keep you from talking poorly about another costar? No, no NDA’s were signed during glee or post glee that would stop anyone from talking about anyone else.
What were there favorite memories from filming in New York (Season 2 finale)? They thought it was going to be long and crazy shoot. They only filmed for like five minutes because the fans were crazy. They had a lot of downtime and fun. They celebrated Jenna and Dianna’s birthdays and watched the royal wedding. The script was not finished and they were shooting with 3/4ths of the script. There was paparazzi everywhere. Kevin felt so lucky because they got to shut down areas of Central Park and Times Square. He felt like a rockstar. Jenna was home and said it was nice to be home.
Thoughts on the glee novels released in the first few seasons? No thoughts because they did not know there were novels.
Favorite Amber Riley performance? And I’m Telling You, Ain’t No way (Kevin said the tour version was unreal. She made it look so easy), and River Deep Mountain High.
Jenna watched a YouTube video ranking all the Tina songs because she didn’t remember all the songs she sang. Now she is going to go down a rabbit hole and watch them for all the characters.
Were any of the guest stars divas? No. The guest stars were usually the easiest, coolest, and happy to be there. Gwyneth, Kate Hudson, and Sarah Jessica Parker were all awesome. Kevin said he remembers Kate Hudson hanging out in base camp and asking if the schedule was always crazy. She would hang out with the cast all the time. Everyone was really really nice.
Did being the only two OGs that graduated in season 5 bond you together? Jenna said it didn’t feel like they were the only OGs. They had Chord and Darren. Everybody else felt like they were part of the crew. They only found out they were juniors at the panel at Comic Con when they announced it to everyone. They were happy to be in the choir room for another year. It meant they still had a job. They didn’t know if they would bring everyone to New York. They still had a check for another season.
Is it true that the writers would add storylines about you in real life to annoy you all? They definitely wrote from truth. They saw relationships and friendships forming. They saw certain things and situations happen and they will get to those in the podcast soon. The writers were inspired as they got to know the cast better. They did write to truth but not all of it. They didn’t do it to annoy the cast. Jenna was in musical theater and had crushes on a lot of gay men which inspired Tina falling in love with Blaine. Jenna said they will talk about that storyline.
There were a lot of questions about everyone hooking up. The questions were wild. Kevin said just think about your college years. There was no drama. There wasn’t a lot of cross pollination happening as Jenna put it. She said its also not their story to tell.
How did you feel about season 6? Did you feel like your characters were pushed out? Jenna said no she didn’t feel like she was being pushed out. It was a mutual thing between her and the producers. It was something she wanted to do and she was fine taking a small step back. She felt removed from the show. Kevin felt removed as well. The felt disconnected because they were so used to being their all the time. Kevin liked where their characters ended up.
Did Jenna do the ad libs in Express Yourself? Jenna said she doesn’t know. They all did al libs in that song. She doesn’t remember.
Kevin said Phil the sound man would have the studio file of all the tracks and when they would lip sync he would turn up the ad libs so they could hear them. Kevin’s would ask him to solo out things for him because sometimes it was hard to tell who was doing the ad lib.
What is the best prank you have done to a cast mate? Kevin and Jenna both said they were not pranksters but were pranked by others. Telly, Diana, and Naya were egging people like Pretty Little Liar like A. Jenna came back to her trailer one day and there was an A on her vanity mirror written in Sriracha and an empty bottle and they left some secret about her. This went on for weeks. When they went on tour they got Samsung phones and they would get mysterious texts from A.
They had the auction winner Madeline from Snixxmas on the podcast.
Are there any specific storylines that resonated with them? Kevin - Kurt & Burt storylines. It was nice to see a healthy gay son and accepting father relationship. It helped transform people’s views on how this can be done in healthy and productive way. It’s also Jenna’s answer. The winner said the college storylines resonated with her.
Do you have a favorite season finale? At some point 2009 was supposed to be the finale. Jenna said it could have ended their for her. Kevin said season 2 when they filmed in New York. It was chaos but it also felt like they had finished their exams and go to have fun. There was one day in New York where Kevin and Jenna showed up to work in the same outfit.
Do they have any other favorite directors? Outside of Ryan, Ian, and Brad they enjoyed working with Eric Stoltz. He came to work in a suit. He expected them to be prepared and didn’t want them to rely on the script. As intimidating as that could be he was so into the characters. It meant a lot to have someone thinking about the characters outside of the scripts. It could be daunting having a new director. Eric did it in a respectful way but also took charge. There were directors that let everybody else take the lead and that makes for a really messy time behind the scenes. They would ask Ryan to bring back Eric because they loved him.
They asked Madeline what her favorite glee song is and she said it is I Believe In A Thing Called Love. She likes a good rock song.
They asked her what is one of her favorite group numbers? Adele mash up of Rumor Has It and Someone Like You. Kevin said that one gets better with time.
Does she have a dream storyline? She would have loved to see more Tina and Artie. Kevin and Jenna said great answer.
Come back next week for another recap.

I felt like A LOT of the funniest J2 moments from this weekend's panels had a physical component (like them doing an extended bit performing actions in sync), but here's a more serious question that comes across well in text alone. Although it's a lot of text. Really a lot, they were both kind of long-winded, so I'm putting it mostly under a cut.
Fan: Can you tell us about an emotional experience you that had with a fan, like an emotional connection you had with a fan at a convention?
Jared: He can, yes [pointing at Jensen].
Jensen: I'm glad you asked that. Um, yes, there's countless interactions and encounters with people who, if you wanna call them fans, but I call them like-minded individuals, 'cause I, too, love this show and love these characters and love their stories, so I guess I would be a fan, too? But, uh, having interactions with you guys is - that's the unique thing that this is. And I think a lot of people don't understand that when we talk about coming and doing these shows. People are like, 'Why do you think there are people still showing up at these things, you've been doing them for so long?' And I'm like, 'Well, it is the show, but I also think it's this community that has kind of grown with these things. And I also think it's the fact that he and I show up here because we wanna see your faces. [Jared nods] We get to see - you know, when you're working on a set doing a tv show or a movie or something, there's not an audience there to give you feedback. It's not theater. It's not that kind of a situation. So a lot of times, the only kind of feedback you get is critical, you know, it's critics. Saying, 'Oh, this show sucks and here's why' or -
Jared: Yeah, no one ever says, 'Oh that was good' it's like, "Well, this is why that was bad'.
Jensen: Yeah, that's why they're called critics, and you don't get fan reaction. You don't get the people who really love the show or people that the show touched. So all of this has been one incredible journey into just that. Into getting a reaction, feeling energy - Jared and I have said before, but this is your first con so I'll repeat it - we come to these things because it gives us fuel. It gives us fuel to go back on set, keep pushing, keep fighting and keep telling these stories with these characters and digging deeper and trying to layer as much as we can, because we see the impact that it's making right in front of us [gestures to audience]. You don't get that if you don't come to things like this or you don't get to have interactions with people. You're not gonna get that, all you're gonna get is some critical writer who has an axe to grind maybe against a showrunner or something. So all of these interactions mean something to us and it's hard to pick one, I would just say the totality of it is really the most inspiring thing for us and what we really get from this? You know some of you say 'You have no idea what the show means to me'. Well, you have no idea what the show means to us, and you have no idea what you mean to us, because without you, we wouldn't have the show.
Jared: Yeah. 100% what he said? As well, I think for me, I think to try and be an actor or actress or writer or storyteller or director or whatever? You have to have empathy, you have to be interested in other people and their lives, and understand that their lives and experiences are different than your lives and experiences. And so for me it was really difficult at the beginning, 'cause I meet some people and they were so ... grateful? or flattering? Where they'd be like, 'Oh my god, I watched this with my brother or this with my mother or with myself and it meant something to me and I got out of a bad place' and I would take that on. Then the next person would be like, 'Hey! That was a cool fight scene!' And I'd be like, well, I guess they don't really like ... So I was kind of going like bing bang bing bang [makes fast rollercoaster up and down hand motion] bing bang bing bang. And then as I've grown older and had kids it's gradually gone from [makes slower rollercoaster hand motion], like, perceived highs and lows to this really cool spot where even in situations like this, someone will come up and be like, 'Hey, I was in a bad spot and my mom and I watched Supernatural before she lost her life to cancer or something' but the next person will be like, 'Well, I don't have a story like that'. But for me, I've learned that everybody is on - getting to meet so many people in so many cities, I feel so blessed because I've really realized that everybody is in a different stage of their journey, you know? Some people might be listening to an album or watching a tv show or a movie or reading a book and it's really poignant in the moment and they're able to kind of take some lessons and pull them in and then some people might be like, 'I just kinda think your clothes are cool' or something, [Jensen tries not to laugh] and they're both 100% correct. So I think my learning that you're going to meet a thousand different people and they're all at a different point and the show means something differently to all of them at a different point in time. It's certainly - and I've been public about this - but there were times in Supernatural where I didn't want to be alive, and there were times I was on top of the world. And so, going like there's the same story essentially I was telling and a part of, I have the same friends and family and crew and fellow cast and ya'll. So it was like, alright, how do I think about that as far as everybody out here is just a human, like I am, and like he is [points] and we're all gonna have [Jensen makes a see-saw motion with his hand, audience laughs] - he doesn't falter, he doesn't, but uh, most of the rest of us do? Or feel like we have, and so I feel like the, to borrow his word, the totality of the experience, that's continuing thanks to ya'll, has been the most special part. [Jensen nods] Thank you.
Jensen: I will say, real quick? Like a few years ago I was in the airport and I was standing behind this well-dressed guy in a business suit, this man, and he had carryon luggage and we were waiting to board the plane. He kinda turned around and did a double take and was like, 'Hey, did you used to be on that show Supernatural?' I was still on the show. [Jared laughs] And I said that, I was like, 'No. I didn't used to, I'm currently still on the show.' He's like, 'No way! That's still on?' He goes, 'I remember watching that when I was a kid!' And immediately, I was like, 'How old are you?!' And he was like, twenty three or something and he was going on a business trip, like somewhere. I was just like [makes turn around a shoo motions], 'Get on the plane.'
Jared: Leave.
Jensen: Get on the plane. But even that experience with that fan was, uh, very memorable. So whoever that guy was, thanks pal, you made me feel this small [pinches fingers together] that day.

I got a couple of questions and also wanted to share my love for TWD.
Does Daryl still carry Beth's knife around? Is Lydia? I've been rewatching s10 in preparation for rewatching s11 with my best friend, it'll be the first time watching s11 for her. And I've been trying to spot it.
Secondly, I wonder if you have any thoughts about this. I've noticed the friendship between Daryl and Connie, and it seems like their either alluding to a relationship or the shippers are just loud. And Daryl and Leah had a relationship, a unhealthy one albeit, and Maggie was the divide and ultimate choice between them for Daryl. It made me theorize something happening similarly with Connie and Beth. Not Daryl killing Connie to protect Beth, but rather between them both, he chooses Beth, maybe symbolically instead of something clique and out of character like them fighting over his affection.
My friend and I eagerly await the final episodes of the flagship show. It's so bittersweet. We love Daryl and Beth and I've told her there are theories that Beth may come back. Even if she doesn't, I'm excited and hope they end the show strong. All 3 spin-offs sound amazing, and I can't wait to hear about Daryl's spin-off, we've got so little information on it, perhaps because their waiting for a reveal. 😊 I only recently started watching TWD four years ago, shortly after my mother died, and it helped me engage in something and process my grief a little (I've still done my own work on my grief). I love zombie apocalypses, and beautiful characters and stories. These characters are like a second family. And I'm a big sucker for unique storytelling, excellent cinematography, and small character beats. I love how films and tv are made, and hope to have a YouTube channel one day where, among many other video ideas, I discuss and analyze TWD.
That was quite a lot, my apologies. But I wanted to ask and then I also felt like sharing. I'm loving the recent posts. Happy to be part of Team Delusional/Defiance. Have a lovely day.
Thank you so much for sharing! I absolutely loved this! I'm so glad the show helped you process your grief, and gave you so much comfort and hope. It's been that for many fans, and that's why the show is so popular. I agree that the characters feel like family.
I also want to say that I love that you said the show is amazing and you're excited for the spinoffs even if Beth doesn't come back. Don't get me wrong, I totally think she will and that's a big part of the reason I continue to watch. But so many people are always declaring they will be done with the show if something doesn't happen: their ship or what they want to happen in the plot or whatever. I think the show is amazing regardless, so thank you for saying that.
As to your questions, a couple of years ago, a friend of mine managed to ask Norman a question on one of his panels. She asked if Daryl still had Beth's knife and he said yes. He didn't hem or haw over it. Just, "yes, he does." So, Lydia isn't carrying it. If they were going to do something like that, they would make it very obvious. Daryl still has it somewhere stashed away, and if Norman knows that without having to defer to one of the writers, that tells me they have plans for it that Norman knows about.
As for Daryl and Connie, it's been pretty well established now that they are just friends. I actually wonder if she *might* die in 11c. No way to be sure, of course. We'll just have to wait and see. But Norman is heading off to do the spinoff, and Lauren Ridloff (who plays Connie) will not be involved in that. In fact, she's already gotten another job on another series. So, whether she dies or not, it doesn't look like she'll be very heavily involved in the show moving forward. If they don't kill her off, they could always bring her back down the road. I wouldn't mind that in the least. But either way, Daryl and Connie are never going to be romantic. They've told us that several times on the show.
Hope that helps! Hope you keep watching and loving on TWD. And I'm glad you, and all of us, are part of Team Delusional too! Xoxo! 🍁💞

I personally thought that the AI art and AI writing thing was a bipartisan issue.
What I mean by that is that I thought that the reason AI Art and AI Writing has the most criticisms is because leftists would lose their hold in culture, their influence to the masses and the fact that a machine can do what they do but simpler is fact of that.
I don't like It'sAGundam for the record, I find his voice a tad insufferable and very annoying. Saying that of course, would get me labeled an SJW but I digress. He reviewed the trope of One Piece, the part where the MC goes and collects friends so that he can reach a goal, and said that it's done so many times that an AI would be able to do it. I find that statement to be a support to my initial belief that AI is a threat to the woke left. That the woke left will now be bereft of their influence in the modern world. No more Captain Marvel, No more Miles Morales, no more woke Marvel, no more Te-Nehisi Coates, no more woke writers, no more.
Just don't let Chuck Dixon get a movie, fuck. Although if the anti-woke would hear that I'll be labeled an SJW, fuck.
Christ Almighty, I want to say that the woke and anti-woke are equally bad. I already saw examples of the woke disowning me and being vile to me for making opinions which I am prepared for cause I've been with the anti-woke for years now but in recent years I've mellowed out and have circled to going full purple-pill with a more bluish hue.
I did grow up with Tumblr and Pinterest so I was used to a lot of woke concepts but then again I saw them a lot and I really am very pissed at some concepts like those LGBT drawings or that the trannies unite bullshit. Gets irritating cause those are so immature and fail to see the reason those are made. TumblrInAction would've been better, y'know? They know their stuff and they really are neutral at times. I still question Reddit keeping KotakuinAction but TumblrinAction is a no-go? What the actual fuck? TumblrInAction had more substance to it. Fuck. KotakuinAction has a lot of nutcases in my experience so keeping that shit around is more beneficial in the long run cause they need a Boogeyman to point to.
Someone to blame.
I started this post cause I thought AI art and AI writing is a left vs right issue. It isn't. Oh, god I remember kukuruyo saying to me that Jujutsu Kaisen's women are drawn that way cause he has difficulties in drawing them and that the fact that the JJK author said he draws his women conservatively because the parents are watching is a woke talking point. I am subscribed to that fuck's webtoon by the way because I need to appease my still active anti-woke side. I need to.
Where was I? Oh yeah. I got the answer that AI isn't a right vs left issue from KotakuinAction. I asked. That really helped. And that started a roll for me in really posting my thoughts on that subreddit. I did for a while. Asked about the translation and localization issues. Got some good answers but also got some typical answers. I've considered many of them but Christ.
I've made two posts about it and I've only gotten three answers that are the best. I really loved those answers. They were, in my opinion, nuanced and brilliant. The rest, when considered with my experience doesn't really hold water for me. Perhaps I haven't experienced a terrible localization yet. Wait, Seven Seas. I have seen Seven Seas and I have seen some shit with them that even pirating them is not a fucking option anymore. Fuck them. Christ, them and their insistence on injecting woke bullshit. I was reading this magical girl manga and in one of the panels, the main male MC said that men are trash. That's just fucking bullshit, man. I severely doubt that's what he said and worse part is that there is no other translation online for that chapter aside from the official one by Seven Seas. Fuck.
I am now currently reading Webtoon. Starting with I'm the Grim Reaper again and frankly, I've applied some of the anti-woke rhetorics I've learned recently and it's not helping me out. Fuck that shit. Fuck thinking I'm a villain. Fuck thinking that I should be a victim. I am capable of making my own choices. Regrets are better when you've made the jump. Fucking bastards, why'd I ever respect the anti-woke?
There's this post on Tumblr about a dude saying that one of his favorite YouTubers is It'sAGundam and I don't blame him. His like Nux for Western society. He really is Nux, thinking about it. I liked Nux when he made the Fairy Tail defense video. I found it genuine and really touching.
I should stop but I have a lot to say. I want to stop but I have a lot to say.
I SHOULD STOP BUT I HAVE A LOT TO SAY!!!!!
Stopped.
Thanks for reading.

J2 Chicon Main Panel 2023
The panel starts with Jared telling us he’s finally getting his knee looked at to get it fixed! He's getting it treated by a doctor right there in Chicago. Actually, his appointment was today, Monday, so hopefully, that went well 🙏He's been putting it off for a while so I'm glad he's getting treatment and I wish him a full and speedy recovery.
On to questions, why did Dean decide to get killed at the end of the series? I’m typing it as it was asked people.
Jensen jokes that if you look closely, if you play it in slow motion you can see him steering and telling the guy where the nail was, telling him to put him on it and end this misery 😂 But seriously, no, he did not choose that and neither did Dean but it was something that was heavily talked about and discussed. They knew that ending when they started the season and it’s no secret that it took him a while to come around to it, he didn’t want to see Dean die either but something they were talking about earlier in their meet and greet is that when really important characters get killed in shows, movies, and stuff it unfortunately does suck sometimes but it does make for good storytelling and good drama and that’s what they’re in the business of doing.
Jared says that Jensen’s not joking between s14 and s15 they knew 15 was gonna be the final season and they met with Dabb and Singer in LA who kinda told them the short pitch, they didn’t know what every episode was about or what every scene was about but they told the boys what they were working towards, and it kinda caught them both off guard and Jared thinks probably every season of SPN in the writer's room started off with one idea and it changed but he thinks he and Jensen both chatted about it in the earlier parts of season 15 that it kinda made sense in the storyline because he thinks if Sam had died first and Dean knew he had taken Sam out of college to bring him back into the life that would have been the end of him he wouldn’t have been a very happy fellow. So, he thinks it happened for a reason but it is SPN they can have people come back to life. And hopefully, we get to see the boys ride again. x
Other than each other who were their fav actor or actress in the show to play against? That gave them a lot to work with
Jared says one of the people who gave the most did it in a weird way cause he gave so little and that person is MC 🤣
He says he's teasing...but for like 2 days a month the guy was on set but in seriousness he loved Sully, he feels Sully was to Sam like C was to Dean. There was stuff the boys shared with a confidant they wouldn’t share with each other not because they wanted to keep secrets which they did often but you get to see a different side of Dean with C, and a different side of Sam with Sully. He also really enjoyed working with the Marks both Pellegrino and Sheppard.
For Jensen there’s are a lot of characters and a lot of actors that were really fun to work with he names two off the top of his head: Ruth, he says she came every day and was one of those actresses that would show up on set and elevate everybody’s performance levels, and it was so fun to watch her work but also be in a scene with her, another one is Lisa Berry and the funny thing about her is that she’s actually a big fan of the show so when the cameras weren't rolling she'd be like 'oh this is so cool don’t tell me anything I gotta wait for it to come out' and then they would yell action and she’d snap right into character that she's so good and again so fun to work with.
Jared asks Jensen if he remembers the snake guy in Yellow Fever, and Jensen replies that how could he forget cause when the snake started to crawl over his shoulder, Jared got up and left the room and all he heard was Jared going 'nope nope nope nope' 😂 Meanwhile, he couldn’t move cause he had 180 pound snake on his shoulder but the reason they mentioned the guy is that the actor who played him was a fan of the show and he said that all he had read was his scene so not to tell him anything else cause he wanted to watch it when it came out. x
What made them get into directing, what made them want to do it, and does Jensen have a future in directing?
It was a natural progression for Jensen, he kinda took an interest in wanting to know why the director would put the camera in a certain place, why they would have it move, why that lens would help advance the story especially and he really just kinda became interested in knowing more about it because he thought it might help him with his performance in front of the camera. It didn’t but what it did do is got him interested in storytelling from the other side of it, and the questions and talking with Kim Manners and Bob and Phil and all these guys who were masters of their craft he just kinda naturally became interested in it, and it was actually Kim Manners who told him he would be directing one of the eps one day and Jensen's reaction was to scoff and be like 'what? no'. But it came to a point where he said that if he talk to the producers and feel comfortable enough with giving him this responsibility he would do everything in his power not to mess that up so they did; it wasn’t something he demanded in his contract, he said if you trust and believe in me enough I will do the best I can and they did so he did it 6 times. At this point, he doesn’t have any directing gigs lined up, he is certainly open to it but right now there’s nothing like that because there’s a strike going on. But he does enjoy it and hopes he gets to do it more in the future.
Jared says he came in and was a natural he was beyond a natural he was…supernatural. x
If they were to create a bucket list what would be on that list?
Jared immediately goes: words probably 🤣 He doesn’t think he gets a vote in this but he’d like to become a grandparent sometime, and he doesn’t know, there are a lot of things he'd like to do.
Jensen also doesn’t know, he says has more of a not bucket list but it rhymes with that which makes Jared say bucket fist- I can't with him.
Anyways, for Jensen it’s less like I really wanna do this and it’s more I’ll do it why not; he’s traveled to a lot of places, and he’s sure there are places he'd like to see but he hasn’t sat down and made a bucket list yet.
Jared mentions that he wanted to go to Poland and then he got to go, he was excited and it was a joy x
What cologne are they wearing?
Jared has four different colognes: BLEU de Chanel, he was gifted a Gucci Guilty and Salvatore Ferragamo, and he has a Tom Ford one as much as I tried I could not hear clearly which one he has but I think it might be Fucking Fabulous. And, yes that is a real name of a Tom Ford parfum.
Jensen's is just a beard balm that’s called spicy wood.
Jared cannot resist and starts to make a joke about Jensen liking wood on his- and then cuts himself off. No comment x
What do they remember best from each season?
Okay, so the answer to this was a little over the place, especially near the end cause they needed the fan's help to figure out things from the later seasons I'm gonna do my best to recap it but it is going to be condensed and paraphrased for the sake of clarity. If you wish to watch the full moment, which was fun, I always provide timestamps.
From s1 Jensen remembers having divers hold his feet and hold him underwater with a young child in Dead in the Water and that was a very freaky feeling being held underwater especially when you’re responsible for some other person's child. Jared remembers, from that episode, the hot tub they had set off camera because the lake they were filming in is super cold and they had to be in there so long there were concerns they could become hypothermic so they set up a hot tub so in between takes they could warm up.
From s2 Jared mentions cutting his scalp off but that was actually s3 so Jensen shares about s2 that in AHBL pt2 when Dean gets thrown against the tombstone by YED the tombstone had been foamed so he could really dive into it but it only covered the arch, the base was still stone and he was young and stupid and he gave it a little extra, he turned at the last second and his ulnar nerve also called the funny bone hit the corner of the stone and he says his whole arm went numb then felt like it was on fire. But he didn’t yell cut cause it was Fredric Lehne's coverage so he just slowly rolled over and his arm was vibrating it was one of the most grueling pains he’s ever experienced and to this day that elbow, which is his left one, is much more sensitive if he bumps it even slightly it’s like hitting his funny bone all over again.  They continue, in s2 Jared also broke his wrist and in season 3 he ripped his scalp off. For s4 they mention Ruby being played by G, season 5 is Swan Song, Jensen mentions he had a thing on his eye like the prosthetic and the glue started to melt and that season was also assbutt and the bottle not breaking.
Season 6 was soulless!Sam and Jensen remembers the shirtless pull up scene cause of course he does, for s7 Jared mentions Dick Roman, turducken, and Bobby dying.
Jensen: Season 8
Jared: was great
Jensen: season 9 was fine 😂
They continue, and this is when fans really started helping them out cause these men were struggling, for 8 Jared remembers the trials, at 9 is where Jensen says it starts to get really fuzzy.
From s10 Jared remembers not from set but from Van the 200th episode party, and Jensen remembers there was a high school musical episode. They continue with the fans help at s14 Jensen recalls the "marionette fight" between Dean and Lucifer and does a hilarious demonstration, he says it was the worst moment in his and Pellegrino's career they were just holding each other in the air thinking they’ll never work again. Wrapping it up with s15 Jensen says rusty rebar, and Jared says the wig was his I’ll never work again moment. Jensen says he remembers watching that episode and going 'oof what dead animals did they put on his head?' when he saw the wig 😂
Is there a weapon they think they didn’t get to use enough or a weapon they wish they had?
Jared answers the throwing stars, they never got to use them and he always thought it’d be clever for them to put salt on them or something. Jensen always thought it would be like a scene where Sam walks out and Dean’s mounted a 50 cal to the roof. Jared thinks if they had that and hula hoops filled with salt they’d still be alive. Jensen also mentions if they put their pistols on a bungee.
Jensen will say this, the angel blades they had- they had many cause they would constantly break. They had several variations the real ones cast out of metal and then ones that are called rubber weapons but which are actually hard plastic those things would break if you looked at it wrong, they didn’t work very well but the metal cast ones had such an even weight distribution on it. He misses spinning them and doing tricks with them, they would get into trouble with Robin from props because they would be playing with them and she'd have to take them away. They would also play with their flashlights and I don't know how to describe the noise that Jared makes when talking about this but it is so funny 😂
In the Star Trek fandom there is a hand sign for when you recognize a fellow fan or even come across one of the actors, what is the SPN hand sign?
The boys have nothing. They throw some ideas around, and then someone in the crows says rock, paper, scissors which makes Jared remember and share that while he was on vacation in Mexico with his fam he had a dream that he and Jensen were playing rock, paper, scissors, that is funnny and cute x
Last question! In the 15 seasons of acting out constant trauma how did it affect them? And how did they take care of their mental health?
Jared says there’s so many ways to think about this, and he never thought about it, but because they were playing in a sci-fi world there are no boundaries, they got to explore and play multiple characters and they both had wins and losses so long term it helped him learn to be curious, short term there were days he would get home after a really hard emotional scene completely exhausted, they’d have whole days of doing fight sequences and they'd be sweaty and tired but get home and be feeling great but then they'd have days that were emotionally draining for Sam and Dean and get home and be like 'I can't move' and feeling like they'd rather run 10 miles. At which point, Jensen says that Jared would run.
They’d get home late, and even if they didn't have a lot of hours before they had to go back to set, Jared would still get up and run his 4 or 5 miles, and Jensen would be like did you run? And Jared would tell him yes. And Jensen says Jared did this not because of physicality but it was mental for him, he needed to get up and have that moment. Jensen sounds so domestic talking about Jared going on his morning runs, and knowing what he needs for his mental health 💕
Running didn’t work for Jensen, for him what worked was burying himself in the work every day, and if he wasn't working he was moving traveling somewhere, or doing something to keep busy, busy was his buddy. x

Okay so context first: The cast and writers did a panel (I think for S2) but since it was prerecorded online because of lockdown there weren’t any fan questions. So instead they decided the first half they would ask each other questions in character and then out of character plus writers for the second half.
Note: both of Ryan’s questions were to Ace, and I was half expecting “What are your intentions with my daughter?”
But Carson ended up mentioning something about the Drew’s having a secret family pancake recipe. (It might have actually been Kate’s grandmother’s, but I don’t think Scott knows Kate’s maiden name so he just said it was a Drew tradition.) And he said he would pass it to Nancy once she had hit a big milestone in her life, like when she gets her own apartment.
So in the fic, Dads and Ace are hanging out in the kitchen while Nancy is upstairs. Carson tells Ace the story of when the pancake recipe was passed down to him and how he used the famous pancakes to propose to Kate. The next week Ace brings Nancy breakfast in bed.
OKAY. So there is a LOT to unpack here....
1) Where is this panel, how did I not know it existed, and where can I watch it???
2) PANCAKES??? Idk if you know this about me but I am HIGHLY emotional about Nace and pancakes.
See also:
- Ryan making Nancy pancakes in memory loss fic and Ace making the comment that they taught Ryan how to make them
- Ryan coming over in Feline Hungry to make said pancakes for Beatrice (even though he’s still kind of bad at making them and he uses too much flour and burns them a little)
- Callback to all of this in Sandwich Night where Ace comments on how it was much easier to teach Ryan how to make grilled cheese than pancakes
So now you add to that the layer that they are in fact KATE’S PANCAKES and I’M— 😭
3) I just wrote an entire fic surrounding grilled cheese and making it the “Drew way” (butter on both sides of the bread, like Carson makes it for Bess in 2x09) so now I have a LOT of EMOTIONS about Nancy getting her grilled cheese recipe from Carson and her pancake recipe from Kate 🥺
4) All of this to say THIS SOUNDS AMAZING AND I LOVE IT AND I NEED IT

For the writer ask game, how about 1, 3, 18, and 32 (sorry, I'm being greedy 😅😘)
Ask me a weird question
1. What font do you write in? Do you actually care or is that just the default setting?
At the moment I write in the default setting for google docs most of the time. When I first started writing, there was a fanfic writer whose work I super enjoyed, and I really liked their tone and it fit with what I wanted to do. Their fics were always posted in a certain font and so I did most of my writing in that font--I think it was honestly just like, Times New Roman 10, it wasn't anything super fancy. I also wrote in Notepad rather than Word a lot (this was in the Days Before Google and the Cloud) because the interface was simplified and it was just easier concentrate without all the extras and the help and Clippy and whatever. Also my writing buddy at the time used a Mac and .rtf files were easier to send to her than .doc files.
3. What is your writing ritual and why is it cursed?
😂 I don't feel like I really have anything resembling a ritual, it's mostly just grabbing the time when I can? Most of the time that's sitting in an armchair in my bedroom with my laptop, with noise cancelling headphones on so that I'm not distracted by whatever chaos my offspring are perpetuating. Mostly I write on the weekends while my husband spends time with the kids, but I'm hoping to start getting in some weekday afternoon time while the kids are in school. So far that has been prevented by a seemingly never-ending stream of appointments for various family members, but I'm hoping that will die down in a few weeks. (Maybe. We have to see a whole new doctor this week and who knows what they will want to do, but my fingers are crossed that this will be a 'not a big deal but we should monitor it, get some more imaging in a few months kind of thing.)
It's cursed because of Discord. (I love you guys though 😁)
18. Choose a passage from your writing. Tell me about the backstory of this moment. How you came up with it, how it changed from start to end. Spicy addition: Questioner provides the passage.
Ummmm I'll come back to this. I have to think and look at some notes. 😆 I'll reblog this with the answer once I have it.
8. If you had to write an entire story without either action or dialogue, which would you choose and how would it go?
I would almost definitely choose without action...but I think I could do either? My stuff is generally introspective enough I could go without dialogue, and it would be a lot of introspection and reflection, maybe someone taking care of a loved one who is incapacitated and can't speak back, so everything would be internal and conveyed through actions. But, I think it would be a lot more fun to do a dialogue only piece, and it would probably be like those comic panels or cartoons when someone is stuck in the dark and they can't see anything so the panels are just black, and you have to infer everything that's going on from their conversation.
32. What is a line from a poem/novel/fanfic etc that you return to from time and time again? How did you find it? What does it mean to you?
This is one of those questions where your mind just goes blank when someone asks you. 😂 I quote things all the time, there are lots of little lines that come to me in my daily life, I know there are, and yet. Consciously trying to bring them up is incredibly difficult. I know there are a lot of things from The Lord of the Rings, which has been my absolute favorite book for years and years and years (do not speak to me of the movies, I have not managed to watch them all the way through without rage quitting even a single time). I tried to read it at ten and failed and then a year later, I managed to read the whole thing, and now I practically know it by heart. There's a lot of things from movies and such, funny lines that stick with me that I use all the time. This habit has become weirder as I get older, because I haven't had a lot of mental energy to consume new things so my references are aging as I age.
The one thing that comes to me in the moment is a line from LotR when Gandolf is telling Frodo the history of the ring, and Frodo passionately wishes that Gollum were dead, and that he deserves to be dead. I'm quoting from memory so the wording might not be exactly right, but Gandolf says, "Many live who deserve to die, and many who die deserve life. Can you give it to them?"
It was just a really poignant moment that stopped a very human and emotional moment of Frodo's right in its tracks, and it ties directly into the third book when Frodo meets Gollum and realizes that he can't kill him; it's the planting of a seed of compassion that bears fruit later in the book, and ultimately saves everyone in the end.
Gollum still dies, but not until you've had ample opportunity to see the tragedy of his life, and you feel no satisfaction, no vindication, or very little, that he got what he deserves. By the time he dies, even with all the horrible things he does, you (or at least I) see him as a victim and feel sorry for him, even if you are still glad that he dies, because really what good could come from him being alive at that point.
Also, I was a huge fan of @cleolinda 's Movies In Fifteen Minutes back in the day, and there's a line in one of them about a King Arthur movie where the heroine says "The Romans wouldn't let us have sleeves" and Arthur says, "Baby, when I'm king, you can have all the sleeves you want," and my husband and I still quote it at each other. Especially when Starbucks is out of cup sleeves. 😂

Hi MissJacki! I had an ask all ready for you months ago and realized I never actually sent it XD I hope you still do asks and find it a good enough question to answer :)
Do you think there was a reason why the writers made Sam drink demon blood to take on Lucifer but didn't have Dean do anything to take on Michael? I guess they may have just forgotten, but it's always bothered me. What are your thoughts? (sorry again for taking so long)
Hiya Nonnie! Happy to see you! That's a very good question and I definitely do have an opinion about it. On one hand, it's reasonable to think they just forgot. I mean Jared himself said, when asked the same question at a con panel a couple years ago (was it you?), that Sam didn't need the demon blood to take on Lucifer because he was Lucifer's True Vessel, he needed the demon blood to kill Lilith because it made his powers strong. After he killed Lilith, the Demon Blood arc was finished. Much to the groaning of the audience who remembered that it carried into S5 with My Bloody Valentine and Swan Song where he actually drank it again to make his powers strong.
So sure, it's possible they forgot when it was time for Michael to wear Dean, maybe they could have had him inhail Angel Grace? But I don't think it's that simple. I don't believe that Sam had to drink the blood to take on, or to allow Lucifer to wear his vessel, but to take him on, or to fight him.
What we learned about the demon blood, is that it made Sam's powers stronger and stronger. Physically he was strong enough to contain Lucifer in his body, just like Dean could physically contain Michael. They were their True Vessels, so why would they need extra help?
Later in Swan Song when Sam is going to take on Lucifer, it is to purposely overpower Lucifer and throw him in the pit. As a human, as strong as Sam is, he can't do this. He needed his powers to be extra strong, stronger than they were to kill Lilith, thus needing to drink more demon blood than he ever had. Lucifer wanted him to drink it so he would be strong enough to kill Michael while he was wearing Sam. Nick had to drink demon blood to be barely strong enough to contain Lucifer (because he was not Lucifer's True Vessel)
You will hear a lot of fans claim that Sam's love for Dean made him strong enough to overpower Lucifer, and as lovely as that sentiment may be, it doesn't fit. Neither Sam nor Dean in their human form were strong enough to defeat either of the Archangels. They couldn't even defeat regular Angels or demons without supernatural help ( the angel blade or demon blade for example) so it wasn't a matter of Sam's love for Dean that made him that strong (unless you're gonna tell me Dean doesn't love Sam as much and should have been able to defeat Michael if he did) but it was Sam's love for Dean that brought him forward.
By the time Lucifer got to Stull Cemetary, he had buried Sam. He'd basically convinced him that this was his destiny. I imagine while Sam looked out over the bodies of his demon-possessed friends that he killed, just like he had killed Brady, that he though this was indeed the reason he was born; so Lucifer could beat Michael. His love for Dean kicked in as Lucifer nearly beat Dean to death. Sam watching this, feeling it, hearing Dean "It's ok Sam, Im not gonna leave you" seeing the army man and the highlight reel that ended in the brohug, is what made Sam say "Fuck this shit" and bring him forward. Having drank all that blood made him strong enough to take over and throw Lucifer (and sadly himself) into The Pit.
Remember that while Michael wore Dean, Dean could come forward, but he didn't have the Supernatural strength that Sam had, to overpower Michael.
When Sam confronts Lucifer in s11. Lucifer wanted his vessel again. He told Sam he needed "Someone who's strong enough to hold me" that means his Vessel was strong enough even without demon blood, but, as Lucifer once again beat him and Dean and threatened Dean's life, Sam couldn't even hit him hard enough to hurt him.
So in conclusion, I believe the demon blood made Sam strong enough to fight Lucifer and Dean didn't have an elixir to make him strong enough to fight Michael, though both could contain them in their bodies.
Make sense?
I hope this helps!

I'll be honest, I'd found the relationship stuff alright so far. That said, it seemed almost out of nowhere for Julie-Su to be acting like her and Knuckles were a thing (unless the idea was that he was supposed to just know, which is stupid- fuckin' communicate), aside from that one kiss that clearly left Knuckles confused.
Vector being kinda a shit head and "wantin' to hit on babes" and the like "without ever gettin' weighed down by a ball and chain [Marriage]" fits well enough with the character they established for him at least, and frankly, I was fine seeing that plot play out- hopefully ending with the whole thing as a lesson to Vector to be less of a sexist dick or something, IDK- character growth, or maybe some karma.
Now, this comic is NOT new to relationship drama- that's why Geoffrey was first introduced, and I've been variably tolerant of it. But ultimately, the best relationship elements of the story, in my opinion, have been those built around genuine care between characters, and how they communicate their care and navigate their relationships with each other.
Like, Geoffrey and Sonic fighting over Sally fuckin' sucks (for SO many reasons, but let's ignore the accidental pedophilia issues in this case- still so many problems). Meanwhile, having Sonic get a bit insecure over Knuckles and Sally, ending in him asking Sally a question that leaves them both thinking "Ahh, haha, he/she cares :3" is great. The first is plagued by inconsistent writing (it seems like half the writers want Sally and Sonic to be very loosely a thing, while the other half want them committed to each other), Geoffrey never seemingly having respect for anyone EXCEPT the girl he wants to bone (coincidentally the princess), and there never being a proper scene of Geoffrey really respecting Sally beyond a surface level it feels like. Meanwhile, we have been learning the history (slowly) of Knuckles and Sally, and we see a clear respect they have for each other- meanwhile, Sonic and Sally bounce off each other constantly, having genuine issues and some fights between them, but also often resolving them one way or another; we have scenes where they just talk, where Sally confides in Sonic and he supports her; Sally mourns the death of Sonic AND Knuckles when they get nuked in Robotopolis, and Sonic is horrified to see a roboticized Sally- hell, the BEST scene that ever happened involving the Geoffrey/Sonic/Sally love triangle was when Sally was "dead" and Geoffrey and Sonic screamed at each other "You killed the woman I loved" "You only love yourself, I'm the one who loved her" because it was all built on genuine heart and emotion.
I don't know. I'm not a romance person- romcoms and love stories and (generally) romantic will they/wont they sitcom type shit just doesn't do it for me. I love The Night Circus (go read it, the love story is generic but the fantastical imagery IS SO GOOD!!!!!!!), and I can bear a romantic subplot just fine enough- The Seven Realms is a series with romance and some love triangle esq stuff at it's core, and I still love those books (the dance and proposal in book 4 is SO good- but I have personal reasons to love that).
Still, I'm not an active fan of this space of tropes. I just... want genuine affection and character insight and to see what happens when two characters are put together- some ships are fun in the same way a car crash can be, just watching as two characters interact like water and oil under the heat of romance, while other times these stories are great because of how they humanize the characters and help draw out deep down pieces of them.
All this ranting... the reason I started typing this is: I absolutely hate the trope their setting up in the included panel, I hate it so much, whyyyy?????????? I was having a decent time...
Tumblr media
To my understanding, this isn't the end of relationship drama in the comic, it might get worse, and... oh boy. I know there's bad art we've yet to see, and quite likely some stories that'll be worse than what came before. To be honest, I've found most of the comic to be, at worst, low quality and/or convoluted; plenty of it has been enjoyable, with some fantastic art, some really cool and wild ideas, and some great character stuff and all around good execution- not all of it certainly, it started off as nothing Loony Toons bits and even later hasn't been consistently good at all, but more and more it's been getting better in my eyes.
But I worry that, what's to come, might be the bad stuff people attribute to Penders. It feels like everyone makes fun of or complains about Knuckles The Jesus and how convoluted everything is and Geoffrey St. Pedo, as well as the art, but I've yet to see that horrible Vector dancing image, or stick-thin-limb Sonic in need of a haircut, and I worry that the genuinely bad quality writing is yet to come...
