@mossyent . sniper verse starter
It was Cassandra's first time off-base, but really, this was just another base. Less secret, sure. Still not exactly freedom. Her eyes scanned everything around her, a little frown knitting her eyebrows together. But what could have looked like innocent curiosity was in fact careful planning. This was it. Her first real shot at running away with Mina.
For now, though, she still had to play along. After 2 years of somewhat excellent behavior, they had loosened the leash. She couldn't ruin everything by being rash. So, she smiled at the man -tall, very tall- she had been paired with. "Hello," she said politely Well, coldly, really.

Ya-ha-ha! You found us!!
I kept forgetting to post these so now I will do so while I'm thinking of it. Here's Bast's (@purpledemoncat) and my Korok Girl outfits from Renaissance Faire last month!
I knit the ponchos, she made the masks (BAST post a picture of your mask I just realized you cannot really see it in these photos!), and we had a good time! I even got a little hip purse shaped like leaves, lol. It rained on us and we had to ditch our berries but it was still very fun.
My poncho is Tricandia by Beyenbergerin Design and Bast's is Spindleshanks by MMario, both on Ravelry and both very fun to make!

We screech and we laugh and we make gifs. But have you considered how utterly excruciating it is to realise that the one person you trusted to have your back, doesn't? That in the end, for whatever reason, they did not choose you?
If they ever want to be together, an apology dance is so far from being enough it's heartbreaking. Somehow, they need to process their emotions. They need to re-establish a trust that's been broken. They need to convince one another that, given another choice, they would put Us first.

i feel like most dc fans tend to automatically decry whatever content is "bad" in the sense that it's either harmful to their favorite character's development or cringe or something similar but why does no one ever decry content as "bad" in the sense that it's uninteresting.. tired of seeing the constant takes about dick being the bestest big brother ever to jason like it's genuinely so boring idk why they did it

i think what hits most about nobara's backstory is everything that's left unsaid and peaks from between the lines. it's the fact you can easily infer that something was wrong without ever having clear answers on what exactly was wrong. but if you can relate to the feeling of wanting to escape a place and the alienation from everyone around you, especially when you're brought up in small communities, then you can certainly understand, if not fully then partially, nobara herself and the struggles she might have had to face all by herself for a very long time; maybe even the importance fumi and saori had in her life and the pain from having to part from them; and, perhaps the selectiveness in letting people in that she later on develops as well.

@mossyent goes on an awkward road trip 🚗
Cassandra wasn't usually uncomfortable around Reggie, she even enjoyed his company a lot. But the "events" that had unfolded in Seattle's undercity certainly made things a little bit more awkward, now. Not that she blamed him for it. She understood better than most how some things could just make people... snap. But it was difficult to act as if nothing had happened. She could still feel the barrel of his rifle, pressed against her forehead.
"So... How are you feeling?" she finally asked, partly to break the silence that had settled in the car, but also because she was genuinely worried about him. It was always a lot easier for Cassandra to worry about everyone else but herself.

"The newly widowed Elizabeth (Woodville) was exceptionally vulnerable. Several of the trustees responsible for her jointure refused to hand over the manors that were meant to sustain her in her widowhood. Moreover, her brother-in-law, Edward Grey, had seized estates that her son Thomas should have inherited from his paternal grandfather, while her mother-in-law’s new young husband, Sir John Bourchier, had prevailed on Lady Ferrers to settle her principal properties on them jointly for life, ensuring that Thomas would have to wait far longer for this inheritance too. Rivers and Scales were pardoned in July 1461 and swiftly moved into the Yorkist establishment, which perhaps explains the success of the chancery suits Elizabeth launched to regain her jointure. Her son’s inheritance proved harder to recover. By 1463, Rivers was often in (Edward IV's) company and on his council, but Elizabeth needed someone with much stronger influence over the King. She turned to a distant kinsman, William, Lord Hastings, the King’s chamberlain. Hastings drove a very hard bargain for his aid but it was probably amid these negotiations that the King’s desire for Elizabeth was kindled."

You ever get nicely into studying but then have to stop to take your recently broken glasses to the optician and when you get back there's suddenly this block stopping you from studying and suddenly it's 2.30 am and you only now open your notes and then it's 3.40 am and you have to go to sleep because your exam is in 5 hours and you are utterly fucked and you really should have studied during those 6 hours you've spent scrolling on phone? Did I mention the exam is for 5 credits. Yeah
