astrology observations pt. 13
Hello, everyone! 💜 I am back again with the observations after a long long time away from tumblr; I am taking sidereal birth chart readings, for those contact me at my email: [email protected]. Enjoy!
sidereal cancer is a natural yearner similar to sidereal taurus and libra, however it is not exclusive to a romantic interest. the yearning transcends romance, it goes to the past, friends, family, older versions of the self.
sidereal leo is pedantic about their goals, they like to track their progress and also keep their spaces clean and pleasant looking.
9th and 12th placements are experimental, they may not believe in the concepts presented to them but they do not reject them. 12th housers especially may even try them out and embrace something just to feel what it brings to them as an experience simply,
people put sidereal leo on a pedestal and look up to them because of their skills and the way they carry themselves, their wisdom too (magha nakshatra) but they feel like an impostor often and don’t even like being noticed in that way, they mostly prefer recognition for certain skills.
7th housers can’t learn their most valuable life lessons and develop themselves to their fullest potential without their 1:1 connections. be it business, friendship or romance. they take the wisdom from those unsuccessful relationships and use it to strengthen their 1st - sense of who they are outside of the relationships.
8th housers have a tendency to not let their traumatic experiences go and this stunts their ability to grow emotionally. (2-8 nodes especially here) they have a tendency to always remember the people closest to them did that affected them so deeply where they don’t even get out of this deep whole of negativity, this breeds chronic low self worth (2H) and no motivation to be more.
1st housers when not evolved may be tricked into giving a lot of attention to the 3D and associate 3D themes with what makes them “Them”, they may define themselves as their career and hobbies. this is a recipe for existential crisis because once those 3D elements change (they will) or are no longer interesting to the masses this individual essentially “loses value”.
sidereal taurus moon vs sidereal scorpio moon have polarizing approaches to lively aspirations. due to the exaltation of the Taurus moon and this sense of natural internal security they are born with has its downside, that shows up in someone as not striving for more than the ”comfortable” lifestyle and not really having build any special skills to achieve milestones. this makes them prone to falling into depressions later in life (and issues with overeating/drinking often). sidereal scorpio moons are not “blessed” with this sense of internal comfort, the hardships they face early on makes them motivated to rebuild themselves and acquire skills which are important for success. the other downside is they have to learn how to appreciate their achievements and not just diminish them and going for the next, taking time for a little rest now and then is okay, scorpio.

Money in Astrology
Tumblr media
Hey yall! I’m back today with a new post that’s going to discuss all things about your money! Yes, you can use astrology to help better your financials and what you can do to live a comfortable life that suits you!
To understand your money situation, you need 3 different charts to look at, Look at this like a cake, there’s 3 charts which means 3 layers:
First layer is your Natal Chart: this is the base on how to gain money. It’s the abilities you were born with and what you’ve learned from past lives
2nd layer is your Progessed chart: this is the 2nd layer to how to gain money. Progressed chart is the stage you are in life currently
3rd layer is your Solar Return Chart: this is the final layer to gain money. Solar return aka “your birthday” is the overall energy of that year for you.
The frosting of the cake is you putting this all together.
For one example: let’s say in your natal chart you have a Gemini 2h, Progressed has Cancer 2h and Solar has Aquarius 2h. Let’s put it all together.
So let’s say you’re a writer for a journalism company because Gemini rules over writing and Journalism. This is what you were naturally drawn to do to make a living. Now let’s say 10 years has passed by and now your 2h is in Cancer in your progressed chart. You’re still a writer because that’s still your natal placement, but now you want shift things up so instead of working for a company, you work from home (Cancer 2h)writing from a blog/website you created, something like Patreon. Instead of the regular 9-5, you make your own money but still doing what you original love which is writing. Now let’s say you want to know how your upcoming year financial will be. So you see you have an Aquarius 2h in your solar return chart which is perfect if you have an internet type of job that you’re trying to grow. Aquarius rules online and groups of people so your subscribers may grow that year which means more money.
Now planets in the 2h, and aspects if you have planets in the 2h influence this as well. Like if you have Aquarius moon in the 2h, you may feel alienated from you family during this time because you’re so focused on your blog. Your subscribers may start to feel more like family to you etc.
I know that was a long example but I want you all to really understand how to interpret this in your own lives and charts. I have Virgo 3h so I’m all about the details 🤪
Now that we got what kind of charts to look for and how to interpret them, let’s discuss what to actually look for in these charts!
1. The 2nd House + Planets in the 2h(if you have any), if not look for the 2h ruler + planetary degrees and house degrees (if your using Placidus house system)
-the 2h rules over physical money in general so this is is where you first look to get an idea to see what you can do to make it. This house is where you will start to build your wealth. 2h also rules over our values and assets. How you value and see money based on your upbringing can be seen here as well.
2. The House where Taurus rules in your charts
-Taurus rules the 2h naturally so wherever it rules in your charts, that’s an area where you can make money from as well.
3. Your Venus sign + degree + house placement + aspects to Venus
-Venus rules over money because it rules over Taurus. So even if you don’t know what to do by just looking at your 2h or Taurus house, look at your Venus placement
4. The 8th house. Use the same process for this house as you did the the 2h.
-the 8h is the opposite of the 2h. The 2h is physical money but the 8h is the power of money. It’s how you use your money in your life. 8h also rules other people money such as your partner. You can gain money through inheritance, you can have lots of debts too. 8h rules over loans as well.
5. Scorpio. Use the same process as Venus
-Scorpio is ruled by modern ruler Pluto and traditional ruler Mars. Pluto means “wealth” . I personally think it shows the power of wealth. Mars rules over action, Passionate and drive. You can make money and build wealth by using your Scorpio placements and house. What are you passionate about, what the thing that lights your soul on fire? That’s what you can make money from. Scorpio rules over alchemy, you can turn your passion into a goldmine. Money can change and end lives which is very Scorpio energy
6. 11th house
-not many people talk about the 11th house when it comes to money but it does play a role. It rules over “collected wealth” because it’s what you’ve been saving during your working career years. Using derivative houses (counting the houses) STARTING from the 10th house, it’s 2 spaces away from the 11h. So 10, 11=2 because we only counted 2 spaces over. The 2 represents the 2h.
If you’re confused about the derivative house method, go to my pinned post and scroll to learning tools and scroll down to derivative astrology post to get a better idea.
-The 11h also rules over connections and networking. You can literally make money based off of who you know and who knows you.
7. The house Aquarius sits
-like I said above, Aquarius rules over groups of people and networking. We are in a digital age now so making money off the internet is easy to do now compared to 20 years ago when technology was just coming up. Social media influencer is an actual career now that comes with lots privileges if you stick with it and meet the right people. Also look and see where Uranus and Saturn sits because aqua is ruled by both of these planets.
Thank you all for reading and if you need a birth chart, I’m open to help ya! Look at my pinned post for more details

Weekly Recap | April 1st-7th 2024: Podfic Edition!
Tumblr media
Like I said in my other post, the rec was getting too long so I had to split it. But that just means these wonderful podfics don't have to share the spotlight!
As you might have noticed, I've been listening to a lot of podfics by MistMarauder and Rhea314 recently, but if you have anyone else to rec, please share!
🔥 [Podfic] my heart's a secret (tell me you'll keep it) by MistMarauder/ @mistmarauder (Getting Together | 30-45 minutes | Teen): Or, Buck tells Chimney a secret. This proves to be a mistake.
🔥 [Podfic] To Build a Home We Deconstruct Our Rituals by MistMarauder/ @mistmarauder for letmetellyouaboutmyfeels/ @letmetellyouaboutmyfeels (MArriage of Convenience, Post-S4 | 5-6h | Explicit): After the shooting, Eddie realizes he needs to put some things in place. Like who will get his assets if he dies. Who will speak for him if he ends up in a coma. What might happen if his family contests Buck's guardianship. Luckily, he's got a simple easy-peasy solution that won't result in insanity, catastrophe, or heartbreak: Marry Buck.
🔥 [Podfic] of men and of angels by MistMarauder/ @mistmarauder for extasiswings/ @extasiswings (Eddie Queer Awakening | 1.5-2h | Teen): Eddie Diaz learns a lot as a kid. Boys aren’t soft. Boys don’t cry. Boys don’t kiss boys. As he gets older, he realizes that everything has exceptions. Boys can be soft sometimes. Boys can cry sometimes. And some boys kiss other boys. But Eddie likes kissing girls. And since he likes kissing girls, that’s the end of the story. Isn’t it?
🔥 [Podfic] Leading with the Left by MistMarauder/ @mistmarauder for letmetellyouaboutmyfeels/ @letmetellyouaboutmyfeels (Canon Divergent, Pre-Canon, Stripper Buck | 10-15h | Explicit): When Buck said he was a "bartender" in "South America" what he actually meant was "stripper" in "Mexico." And when Eddie said, "What's your problem?" what he actually meant was, "Is this about the time you gave me a lap dance?" In other words, there's a few things the 118 doesn't know about Buck. Or Eddie. Or Buck and Eddie's relationship.
🔥 [Podfic] baby, say you'll always keep me by MistMarauder/ @mistmarauder for hattalove/ @hattalove (Friends To Fiances | 1-1.5h | Teen): or the one in which joking about being married to your best friend is all fun and games, right up until you realize that you're not laughing.
🔥 [Podfic] I Hate Accidents (Except When We Went From Friends to This) by MistMarauder/ @mistmarauder for morganofthefairies (Marriage of Convenience, Post-S4E14 | 1-1.5h | Explicit): Buck and Eddie had always been unconventional. Neither of them gave it much thought – they were just them. Buck and Eddie – partners, best friends, co-parents – just as entangled in each other’s lives as any actual couple in the 118. Or, the story of how Buck and Eddie went about their relationship in entirely the wrong order.

𝓨𝓾𝓷𝓪'𝓼 𝓽𝔀𝓸 𝓱𝓾𝓷𝓭𝓻𝓮𝓭
𝓯𝓸𝓵𝓵𝓸𝔀𝓮𝓻𝓼 𝓼𝓵𝓮𝓮𝓹𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓻
𝓬𝓮𝓵𝓮𝓫𝓻𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷
The moment I've been waiting for has finally come! As I indicated in the headline, I've reached 200 followers here on Tumblr, thank you all so much, this truly means a lot to me, also thank you for the feedback I always got on my works and even my random shitposts! <3
and to celebrate this very important and remarkable life event— I had planned a sleepover celebration which consists of games, questions, asks, and of course, requests! <3
The sleepover will be a week long, from September 15th till the 21st of the same month where you can submit asks and requests!
As for games, I have a list of them!
Kiss/Marry/Kill: you give me three characters and I will sort each one in one of these categories! (make it hard for me)
This or That: you give me two things/characters and I get to choose one that suits me better! (for example: night owl or early bird?)
make an assumption: you literally make an assumption about me and I either prove it or deny it!
never have I ever: you ask me about things I did or didn't do!
exchanged ships: you basically give me a character that you find as my significant other, and I will give you a character in exchange and why I think it's the perfect character for you!
Q&A: you can ask me about anything, whether it's my favorite food or even what fabrics do I prefer to wear, ask whatever you want!
Girly talks: just talk to me about any girly topic you want and we'll establish a good conversation! Let's talk about books or authors, favorite poetry pieces, maybe movies we loved in our childhood, or even your favorite outfits back when you were a 10 year old! Literally anything!
Rate my music taste: give me a song/artist and I will rate it from 1 (absolute flop) to 10 (total banger)! — (this is absolutely done just for fun).
I wanna write you a song: start with a phrase and we will make a totally original song together in the reblogs!
Note on prohibited things that I won't be doing or answering:
No nsfw/dirty asks, writing requests or questions, it's uncomfortable for me, and it's an all-ages-friendly celebration. No further elaboration, please respect this. <3
AND FINALLY, THE REQUESTS!
As for writing requests, I will be taking fluff/angst/violence (blood and gore—due to the nature of the characters I write for) x female!reader requests only. And of course you can request the prompt you desire. <3
As for the characters, here's a list of the fictional men that I would be writing for:
Matt Murdock/Daredevil
Tristan Thorn
Michael Kinsella
Daryl Dixon
(might consider writing for other Charlie Cox/Norman Reedus characters. example: Ian Hamilton, Henry the vampire, Scud, Murphy MacManus, etc.)
You can ask for prompt included in this list or ones you come up with yourself:
Intimate moments
Gestures that make me feel love
Romantic rainy day prompts
gentle things that makes me fall harder in love
fluffy comforting/sick dialogue prompts
lighthearted first kiss scenarios
Sparring prompts
Forced proximity prompts
Date prompts masterpost
Note that I will be tagging the fic requests with #yuna's 2h sleepover celebration so that they're all sorted there, but they will be sorted in my main masterlist as regular requests! <3
tagging my moots to spread the word sorry for being a little too annoying hehe (and I tried to tag as much as possible but my memory is messing around with me I'm sorry if I forgot anyone) @v4leoftears @remonemo @fizanotfeeza @netflixmatt @bellaxgiornata @farfromstrange @itwasthereaminuteago @loveroftoomanyfandoms @little-miss-dilf-lover @tongueofcat @mattmurdockscox @courtforshort15 @chvoswxtch @mattmurdocksscars @kal-0n @murc0ck @babygrlmurdock @galaxies-and-moons-and-cox @acharliecoxedfan @mindidjarin @she-likesorchids @munsonownsmyass @saintmurd0ck @murdocklorian @abbyhaslongshorts @theradioactivespidergwen @softasawhisper @peterman-spideyparker @mattmurdocksstarlight @netflixmatt-main
That's basically everything I have for my first sleepover celebration, feel free to submit your requests and games anytime! Thank you for coming to my sleepover tonight! <3

April Check-In
HI! I AM NOT DEAD I PROMISE, ANON!
Just... Ugh... It's been a stressful end of the month. I have not kept up with the weekly devlogs at all, partly because I had little to share each week, but also IRL was just too much. Head seems out of the water for now. Though I will be MIA for the rest of the week.
Onto the usual index:
Recap of last month’s progress
IF Events in the Next Month
Plan for the next month
Still long post under the break. If you want a mini version, head on over to itch.io as usual!
March Progress
From last month, what did we do:
Complete my French Comp entry. ✅ Not only did I write it all in less than two weeks (and it was full of typo that was so embarrassing), I also managed to...
Complete my SpringThing entry. ✅ Because that's the same game but in English.
Play more games! ✅Obviously having finished playing the Smoochie Jam AND all the French Comp game (quite a few good ones, voting was so hard), but also the SeedComp! and the Revival Jam (maybe?). The harvest of games for this month was bountiful!
Finish the Code Ch5 ❌ of Harcourt and edit Ch6 ✅
Finish fixing The Roads Not Taken. ❌
Things, it turns out... No, really...
Yay! Still managed to make a decent chunk of stuff.
Let's start with the bummer: still haven't fixed the borked games. Yeah... I really should sit down at some point and get down to it. BUT I did get some feedback for the Egg-game, and got extra code to fix the container issue. So... I just need to get to it.
Still haven't worked on coding on Harcourt, though I finished my part of the edits of Chapter 6. The file, full of comments, is back on his desk which... Well. Herm. MelS's computer just 💥(not like fire everywhere, but sudden forever black screen), corrupting about half of his data... which included his progress on that chapter and the endings. We've been working on getting his data back (tbh this project is the least of his worries, more important stuff is still gone), so hopefully we can get him back to editing and writing by next month (best case scenario). YEAH...
But before that happened, I managed to finish Les lettres du Docteur Jeangille for the French Comp, at the last possible minute yet again. I had the idea for month, but didn't start working on it until I was truly done with Teatime with a Vampire. It still managed to write over 15k words in 18-19th century French style (and full of typo because, only two weeks...) in essentially 1 and 1/2 week. EPISTOLARY STYLE game :D
After that was done, I got to play the Smoochie Jam and the French Comp games (it's on the IFDB), and started with the SeedComp entries (it's hidden because I'm the organiser). Lots of fun little game, some very sweet and humorous, some VERY DARK, some suuuper hot, and some that required a bit of noggins.
And halfway through the month, I sneaked a mini-parser game for the Revival Jam. I wanted to try my hand out with the old-style Speed-IF jams, that ran all the way back at the start of the century, which were just 2h long. TWO HOURS! No preparation, just you starting to code and stopping after 2hs. I tried my hand at Inform but... didn't have time to learn a whole new program and make my mini puzzle work in time. So I switched back to Adventuron, and managed to make something... in just over 2hs... I ended up Reviving old versions of the EctoComp instead (3h limit). Still it was fun to try to make a parser game in such short amount of time. It's called FIA: The Vacuum Cleaner, it will take you maybe 5min to play. And... it was so fun I kind of want to make basic micro-parser in that little universe. Some sort of multi-episode series where you have a small puzzle in front of you to solve. Like an intro to parser type of thing. Maybe in different parser programs? We will see. I might end up popping up here and there as tiny little games.
When THAT was done, I went back to work on the English translation of Jeangille, cutting it so close for the SpringThing deadline I thought I would not make it (for real, my files were sent at 23:58! I honestly don't think this was my bestest translation. It probably would have needed a few more rounds of polish and maybe some beta-readers but... :/ the computer explosion happened in the middle of all this so. I guess it was enough... I hope it was enough... But yay! I made it! No bug! Probably just typos! I didn't manage to make the cool animation tho...
AND I updated my website to add all of these juicy thingies!
AND AND! I was interviewed by the Rosebush Magazine last week!
So that was my month. We did good, we did bad, we are exhausted.
What’s happening in April?
Oh wow, already April. WHAT DO WE HAVE HAPPENING? So much, we have so much happening.
First off, we have competitions looking for voters:
Vous pouvez lire le français ? Venez jouer et voter pour les entrées du Concours de FI Francophone ! La date limite est le 4 avril.
Also on the 4th of April, is the deadline to vote for the SeedComp! (@seedcomp-if) games! You can find the forms here. We really really need voters!
The Spring Thing just released a new harvest of games (including meee :P ), and will open voting in a bit less than 2 weeks. Come play!
Looking to create some games instead?
The next @neointeractives jam just opened for submission! Come participate in the Dialogue Jam!
Looking to attempt creating a parser that is easy enough for beginners? Come check the Text Adventure Literacy Jam! You need a tutorial and 5 puzzles to solve!
If you want a deadline to finish your project, maybe check out : Finish Your Project Jam 2024
And for lovers: Amare Games Festival 2024
On the shorter side, and in May: Narrative Design Awards 2024 (ranked), 🔥 Fuck Capitalism Jam 2024 🔥 (unranked)
Interested in other IF events?
April 1st is Source Code Amnesty. Come share the code of your creations! (I've added a bunch of mine on Github today)
You can now register to attend the 2024 Edition of the Narrascope! IRL or Virtual, there are a lot of great talks this year!
We had so far 10 actual entries for the Interactive Fiction Showcase 2024 ! If you made something in 2024, consider showcasing it there too!
Note: @neointeractives will have jams all year long. One a month/or so. And the next Planting Round of @seedcomp-if will start as soon as the results are dropped.
The PLANtm for April
I, erm... should take it easy this month. But also, actually finish stuff, because the more I start, the more I have to fix/finish and it's becoming A LOT...
Play more games: I haven't covered the Revival Jam yet (I'm getting on it!) and the SpringThing has just started. So I have a lot of new treaties just for me! (And also that 2nd Rank is so close I can taste it!).
Finish the Code of Ch5 of Harcourt and edit the Ending Chapter: the latter should be easy since it is pretty short. The former... I just need to bite my tong and get to it! It should probably take me a day to code those last passages...
Finish fixing The Roads Not Taken. Or An Eggcellent Preparation. Maybe the other parser too (it just needs a smidge of polish).
Complete the TALJ entry. The deadline is at the end of the month. I already have the basic structure. I need: a tutorial, commands to actually make the game work. And words. So many words. (Did I mention here I'm making a maze?)
I think that's good. I'm trying REALLY HARD not to tack on another Neo-Interactives entry (we're doing dialogues and I LOVE THOSE). But I WILL TRY MY BEST TO KEEP IT FOCUSED ON THE CURRENT PROJECTS!
~
The 2024 To-Do List:
LOL, I've only done the website! :D
The hopefully maybe easy to handle To-Do:
fix the bugs in EDOC + overall the French version to match (waiting for Adventuron to get the French language)
fix the bugs of TRNT + find a way to add the missing pieces (giving up on the translation)
fixing the interface of LPM and the popups + check animal interactions
figure out the One-Button JavaScrip/jQuery issue...
edit the loading screens of the completed tiny games to include the program/format logo at least.
The 'Need a Bunch of Content to update but it's planned!' To-Do:
Update my website (bunch new title - also I don't think the logo clicky thing work...) + redo my itch page
Finish TTATEH (MelS dependent - this year should be it - for real)
Finish Exquisite Cadaver (half-way mark by this summer - manif)
Finish P-Rix - Space Trucker (main path at least)
Update CRWL (it's been almost two years... I'm getting ashamed)
The Unlikely But it Would be Dope To-Do
Finish The Dinner as it was planned (and translate)
Finish In the Blink of an Eye as it was planned (and retranslate)
Finish The Rye in the Dark City
Fixing TTTT (at least fixing, maybe try adding some storylets)
And finally The 'It's impossible, but one can wish' TO-DO:
Remaster SPS IH (if I managed to start this after completing the rest... I'm going to eat a whole sheet cake).
Start the IFComp project (2025? Might end up being a ST?)

I spoke with psychologist soon 2 weeks ago via phone. She was kind woman but at the same time I, at times, I wondered didn't she listen to me at all :'D (and I have to see her again in next month!)
Like when I told her about my (and siblings) childhood, being isolated completely in the middle of nowhere, abused etc. her reply was: "Didn't social workers step in and take you away?" My reply: "How could they? They, like anyone else, didn't know what was going on in our house. We never told anyone. I mean how could we? This kind of life was NORMAL to us. We didn't know about any other way to live."
I also told her how I get tired, pissed and completely exhausted even after being 2h around other people (like during my regular food shopping trip) and her reply was: "Oh, we need to get you out and be around people! We need to get you back to school and study!"
How I can possibly do that? Sit 8h around random, unknown, people in tiny glass room, get anxious and exhausted after 2h at MAX, losing my focus etc. Not gonna happen. I just know (been there and done that). I seriously worry I might have autism and ADHD because many symptoms match for those both too.
She put me in waiting line to see and speak with therapist. She warned me that the line is LONG but I can wait. She also recommended me to speak with doctor and ask her to do me "work ability test". I don't know how that is done, how accurate it is and so on but I guess I could ask about that from the doctor when she calls me on Friday, asking how my depression & anxiety pill is working. Because, seriously speaking, the way how I am, I just KNOW I can't work normally like normal people. I just can't. I have no energy, strength or anything else for that.
Anyway, about the pills. So far they've been good! I still get little anxiety attacks when I start to think and worry about future, phone calls or meetings with doctor / therapist etc. but luckily my sister is with me currently. Her company has been SO HUGE thing to me! I fear and worry how I will be able to be alone after she goes back to her home...
Pills' side effects: They make me tired. That's why I take the pill in the evening. They also make me sweat quite lot during the night. I haven't seen any nightmares but very vivid and weird dreams instead. I still wake up 1-2 times each night which exhaust me too but hey, this all is STILL an improvement! I think? :'D

The crazy thing is as our attention spans slowly get destroyed by social media, movies are getting longer and longer. No the actual crazy thing is that movies that should ideally be watched in 1 sitting are getting long while tv series that are structured for watching over a longer period of time are so short nowadays, people have started binging them. No the actual actual crazy thing is that I accidentally zoned out in the middle of Oppenheimer (but it was still a great movie) but I watched jury duty in one sitting
Well, movies aren't getting longer. I know there's this belief now that all of a sudden, a lot of productions are taking more than 2h 30 min, but it has always been a thing, ever since they discovered a way to do it. Abel Gance's Napoleon, made in 1927, was a 4h film. Which I have managed to watch in one sitting, mostly uninterrupted (apart from bathroom break). That was some more than 10 years ago. I don't think I would have that same patience now.
So, I would say that a film could have a runtime of 90 min, 120 or 200 and a lot of us would still pick up our phones simply because our short attention span, a consequence of the media on our phones. I don't need to open twitter while I'm watching 40 min of an episode. Especially when there's nothing urgent or interesting happening online. But I find myself doing it. And I hate it. It's a matter of controlling ourselves, but it can be difficult if we scroll through apps so many hours in a day. It is bound to have an influence on our viewing experience.
There's many factors involved too. For example, if I'm watching something in a movie theater, I'm not touching my phone. Perhaps I'm looking at the time, but I'm not taking it out to scroll or answer texts. For me, it would feel disrespectful for the other people around me. That way, I'm paying full attention. But a movie theater room also offers less distractions. The way it has been conceived (the almost full darkness, a big screen, the audio system) is all there for the viewers to immerse themselve into the story. Nowadays, we can use our phones at home because we can rewind back if we missed anything so who cares, right? We're looking up info about the film/show in real time while watching it. Our viewing experience is mediated through our phones.
It has also changed the very basic fabrics of cinema because the language has to evolve in a way. It either adapts or reacts to current ways of viewing. It has definitely changed some understandings in the context of reception studies, apparatus theory, etc. I mean, that happened the moment we could rewind a vhs tape, but I'd say our current ways of interacting with the medium has brought much bigger changes.

Can you please do a small free chart reading for me?
the main themes in your life will likely revolve around creativity of some sort and the impact other people have in your life. your ascendant ruler (venus) is in the 5th house of creativity, beginnings in romance, fun, hobbies, and children, and is conjunct jupiter and the part of fortune which shows your relationships and the connections you make will be very impactful. this shows you are a very loving and kind person, and you attract people who bring you some sort of luck. the ruler of your midheaven (saturn), which is the highest part of the chart and indicates things regarding how people perceive you, your long term goals, career, and who you evolve into, and the ways in which you stand out is conjunct your ic which shows you might prefer to work in the comforts of your own space rather than be in a very visible position. your goals may come from an emotional place rather than being driven to have success. you also have neptune in the 10h, so you might not have as much clarity in terms of what you want to do/be in life. with saturn being conjunct the ic, your family members could have restricted you in some way. maybe you feel/felt as if they're controlling or too authoritative. your childhood might have had a lot of ups and downs. your 12h, 4h, and 7h are ruled by the scorpio sun and libra mars within your 6h, so in this lifetime you will likely work a lot towards certain aspects of self improvement. taking care of your health is very important, so I advise you to do that. you may feel that your relationships, specifically your family members and intimate connections somehow play a big part in your physical and mental wellness, so a challenge you may face is learning to separate yourself from the other in order to obtain healthy relationships since your 6h is heavily emphasized. the north node is in your 12h of isolation, spirituality, things hidden beneath the surface (the sub/unconscious), mental health, and dreams. these are things you may feel uncomfortable digging into and facing, but eventually you will have to as the north node pushes us towards the topics of whatever house it's placed in. it's your nodal return at the moment, so self improvement might be something you're working on right now, both mental and physical as the 6h-12h axis are being highlighted. you also have a moon-pluto opposition, so you may have cathartic, turbulent feelings and be somewhat possessive and face control issues, especially within your intimate 1-on-1 relationships, and your finances. moon-pluto oppositions specifically within the 2h-8h axis shows that financial stability is something you heavily strive towards, as you may feel it plays a big part in your emotional wellbeing.

100 Days of Productivity - initial plan
so, i’ve decided to kickstart my new account with 100dop. i’ve done it before, several times, but not since starting uni - in fact, not since i was still trying to pass my a levels while dancing fulltime.
my start date for the challenge is the 19th of December, 2022, and my end date is the 28th of March, 2023, bringing me nicely to the start of my Spring break, during which i’ll be working fulltime for 3 weeks before returning to uni for the last fortnight of classes before exams.
i’ll be differentiating my overall goals for my 100dop into minimum, realistic, and stretch targets, as well as having weekly checklists which i’ll prepare in the style of bingo cards. these will be flexible depending on the commitments i have week to week, with lighter non-course related goals during my January exams, and a shorter long run on weeks i have sports fixtures, for example.
health goals:
gain weight: starting weight 47kg
minimum: gain 3kg (~0.25kg per week average) to reach 50kg
realistic: gain 7kg (~0.5kg per week average) to reach 54kg
stretch: gain 13kg (~1kg per week average) to reach 60kg
improve lower back flexibility: starting sit & reach test score 3cm
minimum: achieve 8cm sit & reach score
realistic: achieve 13cm sit & reach score
stretch: achieve 20cm sit & reach score
improve speed: i need to start timing my runs as i don’t know what time i’ve been running halves in
minimum: achieve 2h30m half marathon
realistic: achieve 2h half marathon
stretch: achieve 1h30m half marathon
academic (course related) goals:
class attendance: i missed wayy too many lectures & seminars (mostly seminars) in semester 1, gotta fix that
minimum: 75% attendance
realistic: 90% attendance
stretch: 100% attendance
read & annotate papers: i read a grand total of 5 papers in 12 weeks in semester 1, so again,, gotta get my shit together
minimum: 14 papers (1 per week average)
realistic: 70 papers (5 per week average)
stretch: 100 papers (7 per week average)
study hours, outside of class: yeah i straight up didn’t do this in semester 1 unless bullshitting assignments at the last minute counts
minimum: 70 hours (5 per week average)
realistic: 210 hours (15 per week average)
stretch: 280 hours (20 per week average)
hobby goals:
extracurricular sports: i’ve spent the last 2 months on concussion protocol so actually training’s been off the cards (i do contact sports), but i’m returning to my darling aerial arts in january and will also be training again if i’m allowed
minimum: 1 aerial and 1 other per week
realistic: 2 aerial and 1 other per week
stretch: 2 aerial and 2 other per week
duolingo & drops: i lost my 500+ day streaks to a depressive episode in february and simply never used them again
minimum: 3 days per week
realistic: 5 days per week
stretch: 100 day streak on each
creative writing: i need to start writing consistently again and perhaps post my fanfics
minimum: 14k words (1k per week average)
realistic: 70k words (5k per week average), 5 ao3 uploads
stretch: 140k words (10k per week average), 14 ao3 uploads (1 per week average)
if you’ve read all this way, thank you so much!! i hope you’ll stick with my 100dop journey (and feel free to send me motivational hate to help keep me accountable!!)

Sun, Taurus, Scorpio, 1H, 2H and 3H
I don't know what is happening with the formatting but it is being difficult. Every time I try to bold a question to make it stand out more clearly various squares and sections of the post are highlighted instead. I can get it to bold, but it looks strange.
sun ⇢ name 5 things you like about yourself? I do not mind admitting it has taken me a long time to like myself, but you know what? I do, for the most part. 1) I like the detailed distance my genetics has seen fit to give me, I like the way it allows me to pick up various things quickly, to sit outside situations, to be who and what I am. It makes me weird by general standards, cold sometimes, overstimulated others, but all in all, it is me. 2) I like being able to write. 3) I like being able to art, be it to draw, to music, to theater, to film... 4) I like the black, red casted eyes and the family I share them with. (My God that sounded creepy, sorry.) 5) I like the history of my name, both my legal one and let's face it, the one my family chose after which seems to be more my name than the full thing. I've come to terms with many things. The person you will be with the longest is yourself. Make peace. Be your own friend. It doesn't happen overnight.
taurus ⇢ what's your favorite food? Arguably, coffee, but I've been craving steak fondue for years now.
scorpio ⇢ do you feel comfortable talking about taboo things? Depends on what they are?
1H ⇢ describe your style Off work? Baggy t-shirts often with graphics, either cargo or uniform pants, a hoodie, things that block out texture and senses. Work is somewhat a more formal version. I would like to change my style but the lack of resources, mostly stores, prevents that. Online shopping, while an option, often presents a host of issues both in sensory and sizing. If I could afford to wear a suit, I would probably do it just for the hell of it. This has reminded me, I need a pair of boots.
2H ⇢ do you have any object that you like a little too much? what is it and why? I have many objects of sentimental value but they are just that, objects. I would be sad if something happened to them, but it is unlikely the world would end. If it did, I would be too amused by the coincidence to care. That said, most of the objects that hold such value to me are tied to family members or memories. And then there is the bed where I sleep. That object I am fond of. I keep trying to think of something specific, some one thing, but nothing seems a good fit.
3H ⇢ what are some of the topics you like to talk about the most? Well clearly I won't shut up about Star Trek and the other sci fi of that period... Music, art, history, languages, cultures... Horsemen, Sherlock Holmes, classic lit, most BBC programming, neuroscience, physics... I am willing to discuss most things, frankly. It's all fascinating on some level.
Thank you!! <3

75 soft (attempt 4): day 1
[x] morning walk/run or yoga x6/w
hip & hamstring yoga - is it just me or are these the most satisfying muscle groups to stretch.
[x] meditate x at least 15min every afternoon
some times i wonder if i'm in a deeply meditative state or just sitting and napping.
[x] study 28h this week: 2h 12m down
Tumblr media
focusing was such a struggle today. it was the lovely breezy-ness outside my window that helped me through what little I did accomplish.
Tumblr media
[x] evening wxo x6/w
30m resistant band wxo
[x] [x] [] 1 raw veggie or a fruit x3 meals
- my "salad" omelet - an omelet topped with lettuce, cherry tomatoes, jalapenos, oregano and grated cheese
- decadent delish date-peanut-banana milkshake as a morning snack: yes, this was incredible tasting, but i think it's too carb heavy for me - 10min later i napped for an hour straight. the nap might just have been a PMS thing, but yeah, i'd say this makes a kickass pre-wxo shake, not a study break snack.
[] 1400cal x6/week
ate 385 cal extra!
i've been ravenous today. i think it's largely a PMS-time issue, which i made worse by some poorly timed simple carb-heavy meal choices. breakfast was great (the omelet), but i think the shake for a snack and instant pasta for lunch screwed me over. i ate a bunch of street snacks from the little vada pav cart near our place (a mirchi pav, 3 kappa with coconut chutney and a rose infused chai) and only then did i feel full. greasy af but full. i was almost ok with a super light dinner. really ok, tbh. but then i got annoyed w A over something stupid and it felt like i could only sleep in peace if i ate a chocolate pastry - so that's what i did. Dora Milaje is losing her mind, ofc but i have to tell her - maybe sometimes fulfilling that chocolate cake craving is ok.
from tomorrow i'm going to put a little more thought into my food choices. i'm thinking volume eating, lots of fiber for long lasting fullness and satiating fats for the PMS-food derived dopamine-kick.
[x] progress picture/day x6/w
[x] 3L of water/day
[x] brush before bed
[x] no media consumption (one movie/d allowed) - for freezes and PMS days

DRIVE REVIEW: BAIC B40 Plus Turbodiesel Manual And Petrol Automatic
Tumblr media
The first thing that strikes you about the BAIC B40 Plus when you get up close and personal with this brand-new SUV contender is how well it appears to be built. The doors open with a smooth action and close with a reassuring “thud” that speaks of solid construction, proper design, engineering and attention to detail in terms of build quality.
All this may sound a bit patronising, but as South Africa has often been seen as “virgin territory” for some rather questionable motoring conveyances in the past few decades, it is worth pointing out that this comparatively unknown quantity from China is not a Johnny-come-lately on the motoring manufacturing block.
This was reinforced in the launch presentation at Hartbeespoort Dam this week when we learned that BAIC has been building SUVs like this for some six decades. It has its roots in military go-anywhere vehicles, where BAIC, having established itself as a manufacturer in 1958, was a forerunner in developing all-terrain vehicles long before China embarked on globalisation for its motor industry.
BAIC’s entry into the sales field here started in a low-key fashion in 2016, but with the announcement that it would invest some R11 billion in a plant in the Coega Industrial Development zone outside Gqeberha. That plant is now a reality. Assembly has already progressed from semi-knocked down kits from China to completely-knocked down assembly of its D20 hatch and sedan and X25 small crossover vehicle.
The just-launched BAIC B40 Plus off-roader will be assembled from semi-knocked-down component kits initially, but plans are to begin CKD production in Coega in about 12 months. To date, BAIC has appointed just eight dealers country-wide, but this will be ramped up as CKD production comes fully on stream.
You can order the new BAIC B40 Plus in two basic forms. The first is the petrol 2,0-litre version with a six-speed automatic gearbox. The second option is a 2,0-litre turbodiesel, with a six-speed manual. It is believed that an automatic version of the diesel model will arrive here within the next 12 months.
We sampled the diesel model first, with its six-speed manual ‘box and four-wheel-drive system that includes two-wheel-drive, four-wheel-drive and low-range operation. The switch to change between 2H, 4H and 4L operation is rather strangely located high up on the dashboard, where you might expect to find a radio-volume control.
But as most of our launch drive was located at the ADA off-road driving centre near Hartbeespoort Dam, this proved to be very handy. At ADA you need to keep your eyes on the track ahead, watching out for stray branches and lurking sharp-edged rocks, and don’t need to be searching for some button located under the steering column.
The interior of the BAIC B40 Plus pretty much lives up to that build-quality promise noted above, regard the door operation. The leather trim we experienced was of good perceived quality, and although there are body-colour dashboard panels to chime in with the exterior paint choice, the whole package is fairly tasteful, and the quality of plastics used in the interior is quite good.
There is plenty of space in the BAIC B40 Plus, which incidentally only comes in four-door, five-seater form. The rear legroom is more than adequate and particularly impressive is the boot area. With the seats raised this measures 532 litres and rises to 965 litres with the rear seat backrests folded.
The first thing we noted about the diesel manual model is that the clutch action is rather too sharp and that it is easy to stall the vehicle. As we got used to the clutch take-up, we noted that part of the problem is that the turbocharged 110 kW turbodiesel with 350 N.m of torque at 1 800 to 2 800 r/min only starts boosting properly at about 1 500 r/min. BAIC staffers are aware of this, and as production ramps up on the B40, they will be exploring a software solution to get the engine to begin boosting at lower revs.
It wasn’t a big deal, but something that could lead to irritation amongst owners who have to contend with stop-start traffic on their commute. Another fix, which we would recommend, would be to fit a shorter first-gear ratio. Travelling on the narrow tracks on the ADA course in High range, first gear was sometimes too fast for the prevailing conditions. But, thankfully, selecting a low range instantly solves this problem.
The BAIC B40 Plus is not fitted with any differential locks but rather uses electronic sensors to individually equalise wheel rotation when travelling over extremely undulated ground. This proved quite effective when negotiating very difficult rock inclines. The trick is to keep momentum and keep feeding in the power. The compromised wheels spin and then the ones with traction get power transfer, and the job is done!
The second, really impressive aspect that we enjoyed about the B40 Plus is the ride over really bad dirt roads. Massive bumps and dongas are easily ironed out by the long-travel suspension, and the ride in serious off-road conditions is extremely comfortable. This would be an ideal vehicle to use when visiting game lodges that are only accessible by badly corrugated roads, as the B40 soaks these up like child’s play.
Next, we tried the petrol version with its automatic transmission. Its 2,0-litre four-cylinder develops 160 kW at 5 500 r/min and 320 N.m of torque at  1 750 to 4 500 r/min. In low-speed rock-crawling situations, the automatic is much easier to operate than the manual. The ratios (aided by the torque convertor action on the automatic gearbox) meant there was no chance of stalling at low speed in high range, and in low range, there was plenty of torque on tap to handle difficult climbs with uneven surfaces.
The last stage of our launch drive was a short trip on tar roads. The long-travel suspension on the BAIC B40 Plus may have led us to believe that the on-road ride would prove to have a fair amount of body roll, but we were pleasantly surprised at the degree of on-road cruising-speed stability, and the relative accuracy of the steering.
So, would you be happy to pull up in a BAIC B40 Plus and park in front of your favourite table at the pavement café? Well, unlike some Chinese (and Indian) offerings, we reckon the BAIC stylists have also done an excellent job in making this serious off-roader easy on the eye. We note that BAIC’s global operations include a styling studio in Turin (Italy), and checking out the various wheel options and trim embellishments on the various models, we reckon this is a vehicle that is going to create a stir of positive variety. Also, you can then tell interested parties that you definitely won’t be shaken when the going gets tough (okay, okay, but Bond movies are a hot topic at the moment).
Another enticing aspect for the summer months ahead is that the roof panels are individually removable, to create an open-air experience for those occupants who enjoy the topless lifestyle.
Vehicles like the Indian-built Mahindra Karoo Pik Up have begun gaining serious traction in this market, due to their honest approach to an alternative and affordable lifestyle vehicle. The BAIC B40 Plus may well find itself doing likewise, as the range is priced at between R549 500 for the entry-level B40 Plus Diesel six-speed manual to R629 500 for the B40 Plus Petrol Automatic in so-called “Champion” trim.
These prices include a five-year/120,000 km warranty. A four-year/60 000 km service plan is an added-cost option. We believe the pricing is probably fair, given that the least expensive (but admittedly more powerful) Jeep Wrangler costs over R750,000. But given that the BAIC as a marque in South Africa has lots to prove, we are somewhat disappointed that they didn’t find it possible to come in under the R500 000 level for the base-line B40 Plus.

10. What do you value in friendship and tell me about your best friend?
One thing I value in friendship is quality time. My best friend is someone I met in sophomore year of high school. We met because we were put in the same table in Algebra 2H. We clicked right away talking about our common interests like Jungkook and kdramas. It never felt awkward with and and it always felt like we've known each other for ages. We always found time for each other despite our busy schedules and we always have things to talk about. This person is beyond amazing, she's extraordinary in dancing, singing, academics, acting, and taking care of her brother. She is so humble even though she is one of the most talented people I know. Over the summer, we hung out almost twice a week and it would never be boring because she always cracks me up with her silliness. Did I mention she's super funny too? We even went to Seattle over break and that was so eventful and definitely one for the books. Even though she goes to school in socal now and we talk less, I still feel happy for her every time she accomplishes something. I know I can always count on her being there for me and she is someone I can talk to about anything and won't have to worry about what they might say back. She's really special to me and I hope we'll be lifelong friends. I can't wait to see her in the summer and go on our super and unfortunately expensive big trip.

Somehow I managed to set myself out of the normal schedule at work and instead of one 1-2h event a month, I have six of those in May, plus a face-to-face meeting with a person who's co-working on an event with me. Why do I do this to myself, none of these were put on me by my workplace, I just hoarded things myself because I can't say no to the people I'm cooperating with locally. (there would be 2 more but I just can't make it to those so they'll have them without me)
>:I I'm missing my dad's 50th bday because I can't time plan to save my life and don't have time to travel 5h one way to attend the party in my hometown. (I'll go visit home in the summer so it's fine though)
After May it'll be more quiet and then I've got almost three weeks of vacation days in July, and then this job ends at the end of August, which is sad bc I love the people I work with, but also I'm looking forward to it too because change is always cool (as long as i don't end up unemployed long term again sdfdhg)

New JAC T8 Double-Cab Bakkie Is A Best Seller In South Africa
Tumblr media
The 2023 JAC T8 is the most advanced pick-up ever developed by JAC Motors in its 50-year history. The eye-catching T8 leads JAC Motors’ charge in the rapidly growing leisure-orientated pick-up segment. Locally, the JAC T8 line-up comprises a 4×2 and 4×4 double-cab and fits in above the T6 double-cab range.
The company introduced its pick-ups and light-duty range of trucks in the local market in 2017. Since then, the brand has grown its footprint to more than 50 dealers across South Africa.
Karl-Heinz Göbel, Chief Executive Officer of JAC Motors South Africa, says: “The new T8 bakkies arrived in South Africa before lockdown in March last year. We distributed the stock to our dealers but could not officially launch our new flagship to the market.
“The initial demand for our newcomer was excellent despite the impact of Covid-19 on car sales, and now, only one year later, the T8 is our bestseller.”
Powerful drivetrain
The all-new T8 double-cab boasts JAC Motors’ proven and reliable 1.9-litre turbo-diesel engine developed in cooperation with the German company FEV. The highly responsive common-rail diesel engine, fitted with an intercooler and Electrical Variable Geometry Turbocharger (EVGT), delivers 100 kW @ 3 600 rpm and 320 Nm torque between 1 600 to 2 600 rpm.
The powerplant is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission that effortlessly reigns in all the torque available throughout its powerband. The smooth transmission of power to the wheels ensures a relaxing driving experience. With average fuel consumption of 8 L/100 km (4×2), the 76-litre tank will give you an approximate range of 950 kilometres.
“The reliability of JAC Motors’ products is fantastic and serves as a primary motivator in our worldwide sales approach, with many customers and big transport fleets vowing for this incredible attribute,” says Göbel.
Tumblr media
Chassis configuration
The all-new T8 double-cab is based on JAC Motors’ 8th-generation international platform, which provides increased stability, safety and comfort.
The T8 features a double-wishbone independent front suspension with coil springs, resulting in superior handling and passenger comfort. It can better suppress body roll with stronger lateral rigidity, especially when your vehicle is laden or encountering severe off-road conditions.
The T8 supports a rugged ladder frame suspension, including rear integral bridge support, ensuring no job is too big for the newcomer to JAC Motors’ light commercial range.
The T8 double-cab is 5 325 mm long, 1 880 mm wide, and 1 830 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3 380 mm. The turning radius of the T8 is 6.2 metres, making urban- and off-road driving easy.
The double-skinned load-box of the T8 measures 1 520 mm × 1 520 mm × 470 mm and is sprayed with an anti-scratch and corrosion-resistant truck bed liner. The T8 carries a full 1 000 kg load and has a maximum Towing Mass (Braked) of 1 780 kg.
Off-road credentials
The T8 4×4 features the reliable ESOF electronically-controlled time-sharing four-wheel-drive system from BorgWarner. With the press of a button, the driver can switch between two-wheel drive (2H) and four-wheel drive (4H) up to 80km/h.
The T8 4×4 also offers a low-speed four-wheel drive (4L) selection, a torque amplification mode, which enhances its off-road ability. The 2H, 4H and 4L functions can be selected through buttons neatly located on the dashboard. An electronically-controlled diff-lock ensures that no obstacle is too big for the all-new T8.
A customised style bar, rear step bumper and heavy-duty rock-sliders complement the rugged look of the 4×4 derivative. The T8 has an approach angle of 29.6⁰, a break-over angle of 23.5⁰, and a departure angle of 22.4⁰, with a 210 mm ground clearance.
“The rugged-looking T8 double-cab is the perfect lifestyle bakkie. It will appeal to families who love adventurous outdoor activities, of which there are many in our beautiful country,” says Göbel.
Modern lifestyle design
The contemporary design of the T8 complements its workhorse aesthetic. Its striking appearance consisting of neat creases, design curves and a stylish front fascia makes it stand out from its rivals.
The front of the T8 adopts a large-area hexagonal air intake grille and a thick electroplating decorative strip connected to the stylishly designed Xenon headlamps with built-in Daytime Running Lights. Fog lamps are integrated into the front bumper. The JAC badge, boldly embedded in the grille, further contributes to the T8’s overall rugged design.
The T8 features bold black wheel arches, running boards and a style bar to round off its striking appearance.
