I've been thinking: what happened to the rest of the Tyburs after the Rumbling?
They still have a political position in the new world or they are seen with suspect after lying about their role in overthrowing Karl Fritz for a century? Willy is revered as the man (martyr) who tried to unite the people of the world against a menace that turned real since he sacrificed his own life along with his sister's? Or the public sees his death as something he deserved since the Tyburs, who ruled Marley in the shadows, failed to stop the inevitable letting the military taking awful decision and neglecting their duties and allowing, with their disinterest, the Rumbling?
In the manga we didn't know if Zeke's grandparents survived, and we have seen in the anime that they didn't. The Tyburs are not mentioned even in the anime, or I just missed some scenes?

I was just wondering, in regards to my earlier repost......would it have made a lot more sense to position the Tyburs as Eren's main opponent in saving Paradis and thus making them a more proactive presence, regardless of whether the Rumbling remains canon?
The Tyburs are as I said before, an utterly underwhelming factor of the story given how quickly they are killed after the truly baffling revelation that they are Eldian themselves governing Marley. And General Theo Magath hardly justifies his involvement as he too is killed off criminally early in his campaign to stop Eren and perhaps even is too quick to see the error of his ways in the pacing of the final arc. Sure him seeing how badly Marley screwed itself is a slightly better executed "arc" compared to Gabi's bullshit story where she still faced nothing for her crimes, but his impact is still middling by the time he dies with Keith at his side.
Perhaps if Willy had been leading the charge and Lara was actually built up as a warrior in her own right and not some random homemaker lady with no plot or personality to go by....or if someone else had been given the bloody Warhammer and actually executed its awesome power.....I mean it's an Eldian clan willing to wipe out their own kind up against the Eldians determined to reclaim their place in the world, I feel like the points expressed through characters like Magath or even Garbage Braun could have been better conveyed through the Tyburs going up directly against Eren rather than further distracting us with one plot that proved inconsequential and several character arcs that further distracted from the main flow of the story.
And to those of you still foaming at the mouth at Willy's iconic death in "Declaration of War", save your spazzing out for someone who gives a damn, that episode is as shit as the rest of this three year long final season. It's a stupid death when you consider how it voided such a puzzling revelation on Marley's side of the story.
Obviously I haven't worked out all the finer details so I'm sure there's some holes in my logic.....but I feel like several major points could have been salvaged with a different approach here. Something I think worth discussing.

Shout-out to @glassesntea for their original post on the topic of the Tyburs. I think if you're going to introduce this kind of information into the story, you should follow through on it. Make it come full circle. Isayama really dropped the ball on this, harder than when Gabbitch Braun was dropped on her head at birth.

Attack on Prime Chapter 84: Curtains Rise
Summary: The stage is now being set for the next chapter to begin, and both sides prepare for the onslaught that will no doubt come their way.
Sneak Peek:
Megatron returned to the island, landing right in front of the neutral ship before stepping inside. He walked down the hall and noticed a light emanating from one of the rooms. Megatron peered inside, and found Wheeljack working on a model of…a human-sized arm. The Wrecker looked back at his data pad, resting against the wall, before making a few more changes in the arm’s structure.
“I see you’re productive,” Megatron remarked as he leaned against the entrance with his arms crossed.
“Yep,” Wheeljack shrugged, “I should have the arm working soon enough for your little human friend.”
“He’s not my friend,” Megatron proclaimed.
“Whatever you say, Buckethead,” Wheeljack waved off, “Are you sure this plan of yours is going to work?”
“I don’t know,” Megatron answered, “But it has to be something better than the alternative.”
“I just find it funny that you of all people want to save humanity.” Wheeljack couldn’t help but chuckle at the irony.
“…why are you helping me?” Megatron asked him, “I could be using your resources against you and take over the island myself.”
“Oh that’s simple: Hanji trusts you,” Wheeljack answered with little hesitation, “And also your little human friends that hang around you and ask for your help. Seems they’re working with you willingly. It’s impressive.”
“Again, they’re not my friends,” Megatron corrected.
“My point is you changed.” Wheeljack careened his helm over to the former warlord, “Never would’ve expected it in a million years, but only on this world. Right?”
“I’d advise you to lower your expectations.” Megatron warned, “That’s exactly what the Commander has done.”
“There it is again,” Wheeljack smirked.
“Enough.” Megatron stood up and stormed out of the room, not wanting to acknowledge that Wheeljack may have had some truth to his words.

the tyburs are my Only serious gripe with any of this story, a way grosser flirtation with antisemitic tropes than any of the johannine "devil" language, imo. we mostly learn about them from magath calling willy marley's "true ruler" but i would have Far preferred to hear more resentment from actual eldians like what porco expresses (brocialist galliard). it wouldn't be a massive adjustment to downplay their influence to like, your average makapili/chinilpa who sold out their own ppl ultimately for not even a real seat at the table of their conquerers; idk, make their position way more precarious and conditional, a warrior unit in fancier dress...
AU idea where the seven titans (warriors or proto-warriors and attack) team up and steal the warhammer à la grisha with the founder? but what generation—kruger and ksaver? or mayyyybe this is a zekey eldian restorationist angle

I just had an epiphany about AOT: Willy Tybur is inspired by William Shakespeare. The first name and literally the focus on him having created a theater production are a reference to Shakespeare. The attack on Liberio laying waste to the theater production itself might also be a reference to the fire that destroyed the Globe Theater in the 17th century.
