“haha…i got you! i won’t let you go, unless you agree to join my next experiment!”

X proclaimed cheekily from behind you as you felt his hand wrap around your waist and his cheek rest on your shoulder, locking you in a tight hold. you stifle the urge to groan, looking at the clock on the wall indicating how late it was getting. curse him and his never-ending pool of ideas, it would be the death of you one day.

“it’s late already…” you yawn, covering your mouth with your hands. you feel him tut disapprovingly behind you, the smooth texture of his gloved fingers wiping away one of the stray tears that escaped from your eyelids.

“but i had never planned a plan b in your absence…” X sighed, a pout beginning to form on his lips. your eyes met his heterochromatic ones and you felt yourself cave in yet again to his puppy dog expression.

you’d sacrifice some sleep if it meant that he’d release all these pent up ideas in that genius head of his. that should warrant some deserved cuddle time afterwards…until his next great invention or so he said.

“you’re lucky you’re so cute…i’ll do it but you owe me,” you relented, to his glee. you gasped as you felt him press a quick kiss on your lips, releasing you from his embrace and dragging your flustered self behind him to the area of his lab.

“great! let’s get going then, time’s ticking!”

“observe carefully!” x keeps a firm grip on the milk jug. slowly, he pours the steamed milk, allowing a steady stream of milk to flow into the cup of expresso. when the cup is three-quarters full, he lowers the milk jug to the cup and the foam on the milk forms a circle, before he pulls the jug to form a small heart on the side of the cup

“behold! a heart. would you like to try? “ he offers you the cup of coffee. “there's room for another heart. we can make a butterfly,” x smiles.

gingerly, you take the cup and the milk jug, and you begin to pour. x’s pretty hands, used to give life to delicate little machines, made controlling the milk so easy. you lower the milk jug to try and replicate the heart.

“ah, your hands are shaky,” x comes behind you and gently positions his hands over yours, “here, allow me.” you can feel his breath on your neck as he slowly guides your hands to tilt the milk jug. you feel your heart begin to quicken and try to concentrate on forming the heart, but its hard when you're more focused controlling your shallow breathing. you can barely feel your own hands anymore. but x's hands direct yours, and under his guidance, your hands glide over the cup, and you manage to make a decent looking heart.

at least, for a beginner.

“you made a pretty nice blob,” x comments, and you can practically feel his teasing smile coming from behind you.

“hey!” you set the coffee cup down to swatt him on the shoulder. “you guided my hands,” you huff jokingly, “shouldn't you at least take a bit of the blame?”

“yes, yes,” x smiles, and he picks up the coffee cup from the counter and takes a sip. “it’s delicious. the flavor is just right.”

“really?” you take the coffee cup from his hands and lift it to your lips. immediately, a bitter taste fills your mouth. “it’s so bitter,” you pointed out, “ wouldn't you want to have something sweet for once?”

x only smiles in response. “i have plenty of sweet things everyday. for example-”

you barely get to respond before you feel his hands gently pulling you closer and his lips tenderly locking onto yours.

Your suspicions were confirmed correct as Medicine Pocket sneaked up behind you, with no regard of your current situation and hugging you.

"You should have seen your expression."

Medicine Pocket then promptly exited stage right, leaving you alone with your giggling friends and a flabbergasted expression.

Later, don't be a menace to society and give Medicine Pocket some hugs and kisses, won't you?

X is very obvious when he is jealous. Therefore, you should have known that he would sneak up to you like that.

"Boo!"

He then bear hugged you, wrapping his arms around your slender frame. You're now stuck with a living, breathing, genius of a teddy bear.

"Sometimes I don't understand why your name is just the letter X," you interrupted him as he rambled about his newest invention. You got his attention by asking him, "Well, that's an answer I can't explain!" He said with a smile while still holding onto his invention.

You tilted your head to the side a bit and looked into his eyes. "Aren't you bound to find out one day at least?" you asked him, hoping for a positive answer. "Hmm… I guess so, but that's something for us to find out in the future," he replied, looking back at his invention in his hand. He seemed to want to ask you a question, but before he could finish, you interrupted him with a quick "Yes, but I'm hoping it's not harmful... I don't want to have that incident like last time happen again" You said to him. He nodded his head, and then gave you the invention into your hands.

You examined his latest invention, which looked more like a piece of jewelry than an actual invention. "Did you create this yourself, or did you buy it?" you asked him, studying what appeared to be a ring. "It's not just any jewelry! It's a ring that can remind you of someone," he said proudly. "I don't understand. How can a ring remind you of someone?" you asked him. He let out a soft sigh, and you looked at him with a confused expression.

"It is like friendship bracelets, but it's a ring instead of a bracelet," He said to you as you thought about it for a bit "Oh... friendship bracelets like those bracelets children make for their friends?" You asked him. You put on the ring noticing his name was engraved in the middle.

It took you a few moments to remember that a friendship bracelet, but ring versions are called promise rings "It's called a promise ring" You told him "Yes, it is" He replied to you.

As dense as you were you didn't think about it much and thought it was just for fun "Well, thanks for today's 'new' invention. Let us be honest though it really isn't new if it has already been made" You said chuckling a bit. He looked at you with his usual smile that never changes one bit "You're saying the truth so my bad for saying it was a new invention" He said to you.

You looked at the clock noticing break time was over "I'll check up on you tomorrow with your inventions. Bye, X!" You said to him waving goodbye before leaving to rush back to your office.

MEDICINE POCKET is very clear about their boundaries; they do not take crossing them lightly. while you are their lover and significant other, they still make a line that you should not cross.

. though, a contrary belief is that medicine pocket would reciprocate your manner. i believe that either way, medicine pocket would find your behavior endearing.

. medicine pocket would often let you work alongside them - that is, if you don't mind. they would let you take notes for them, telling you to 'do as i say,' or 'write down what i say'.

;; OVERALL medicine pocket would be ( somewhat ) compatible with a clingy partner. just as long as you don't bother them as they're working, they would enjoy being in your presence and having you cling onto them.

X is rather indifferent to this. unlike medicine pocket, he does not necessarily have a sense of boundaries; he does not mind whether you cling onto him or not, he acts just the same.

. x is used to charming people with his personality and looks, so he did not seem to take notice of it at the start of your relationship. he found it amusing, and would oftentimes return your gestures.

. there is a chance of x taking advantage of this scenario to make you test his inventions for him ( of course, he makes sure they're safe to try first ) but otherwise, nothing serious.

;; OVERALL i find x to be a sort of 50/50 in this case. he could be considered more compatible, but there are some contradictions in my head. he is pretty questionable, really ...

PAVIA doesn't want anyone digging into his business. he doesn't want you asking him questions about his work knowing you wont get any answers, he would be happier with someone understanding of his boundaries and line of work.

. i have a headcanon that his wolves get clingy whenever they're hungry - so pavia is quite used to clinginess already. in general, he wouldn't mind if you were touchy with him. you could just lay your hands on his chest, sit on his lap randomly, and he wouldn't care all that much.

. the only problem that pavia has with this is the countless questions you ask him. about his past, about his work - he dislikes having someone pry into his personal life. other than that, he really just doesn't care.

;; OVERALL i don't exactly believe he's all that compatible with a clingy s/o. yes, he likes your touches and affection, but he does not need you smothering him! he needs to do his work as a mercenary, and prefers keeping you out of it.

ZIMA would have to take time to warm up to your clinginess at first. he appears awkward and gruff at first, but eventually would be willing to engage in it.

. he was but a lonely poet before he met you, with nothing but wild animals to keep him company - he considers himself lucky to have you in his life. about your clinginess, he does not mind it much.

. physical affection isn't something he's used to, and it's something that you introduce to him. he has no trouble in showering you with words of affirmation and small gifts, but he's quite iffy with other love languages.

;; OVERALL zima enjoys bathing in the warmth of his lover, a deep contrast to his life in the cold. i believe that zima is one of, if not the most, compatible with a clingy s/o.

HORROPEDIA is completely inexperienced, but that doesn't stop him from reciprocating your affection.

. he'd get caught off guard each time you touch him - he just doesn't strike me as the guy that's really used to physical touch. sure, eventually he wouldn't start to mind it much, but at the start of the relationship he's a bit sheepish with it.

. when he starts to get used to it, he likes to return your affections. he'll often have you by his side, but there are still times where he needs some time alone. if you can respect that, the relationship will be long-lasting.

;; OVERALL compatible! he enjoys your presence, and you enjoy his too. horropedia does not have any objections to your clinginess, and likes being showered with your affection.

SIX does not know how to deal with your clinginess. is he supposed to entertain you? he was more used to blending in with the background, he is unfamiliar with your touches and affection.

. six is curious by nature, and he starts to wonder why? he could understand it from a medical standpoint, and it's not like he would really mind your clinginess - perhaps you have some emotional wound that you would like him to heal?

. unless it bothers you, six wouldn't be as affectionate. he's been so closed-off and distant from his friends, learning how to love and be affectionate towards somebody again must be hard for him.

;; OVERALL makes a decent couple. while six takes a lot of time and space to get used to it, he likes your affectionate gestures, despite not returning them as much.

The very first person I though about when I read this was X... I think you and X would get along very well!!

X would tease quite a bit when you first met, but as the two of you grew closer, HE was the one being teased (not that he was complaining)

It kind of became a little challenge between the two of you, seeing who would be the first to break under the teasing

He thinks you're adorable, but sometimes he gets a little confused at how lazy you are (that feels mean to say I'm sorry 😭)

He tries to get you to participate in his little experiments with him to get you going <3

He makes some weird contraption where when you start feeling down or super tired, just not wanting to do anything, confetti will fly everywhere along with a little note to keep you motivated (whether or not this works or is just annoying is up to you LMAO)

He loves your jokes, he thinks they're so funny (even when they're not)

Sometimes he doesn't get it though, so you might need to explain the joke to him..

All in all, he loves you so so much though and wants to spend time with you allll the time

It was 3:47 a.m. when you stirred awake. You could feel the immense heat radiating off your body and soaking into the sheets. Although the outside of your body was burning, it felt as if the inside couldn’t warm up at all. Every now and then your body would tremble without any warning, even though it wasn’t technically cold. Your PJ’s were absolutely soaked in your own sweat, which (as gross as it is) somewhat helped cool your burning form.

Sitting up was a chore. When you did, it was hard to stay upright. Your head was foggy and you couldn’t think straight, but the feeling of your wet shirt clinging to your sides reminded you why you got up in the first place.

You immediately trudged yourself over to the bathroom and stripped. The mere sight of your soaked sleepwear made something deep within you suggest to burn it. Sadly, the sweat that drenched it would stop that from happening. You wanted to take a bath at first, but a shower felt more desirable. When the hot water beat down on your back you almost immediately felt better.

However, all good things must come to an end and it was soon time to step out. You were well-bathed, smelled nice, and the fogginess in your brain had completely gone away. After drying your hair and changing your bed sheets (which were also quite damp), the weakness started to kick in again.

Every joint in your body ached and your head followed soon after. You ended up crashing in the bed again and pulling the clean sheets up to your chin. Looking at the clock on your nightstand, you saw it was now 4:12 a.m. and a wave of drowsiness fell over you. It was a wonder how you were falling asleep with the severe aching you felt in your bones. The last thing you remember doing is texting your partner X;

“Can’t make it to work today :(”

“Got sick so I’m staying home.”

. . .

X saw the message long after he received it.

“I’m sorry I didn’t see this!”

“I’ll come check on you later today, I hope you get well soon!!”

X has experience in nursing and human health as a whole. During his free time he works as a volunteer at many of the hospitals of Abel City, so he’s learned a thing or two. It’s also notable that when a robot contacts a common virus, they share the same symptoms as an ill human. X had only found himself in in this situation only once or twice, but to him it was hell.

He can’t help but worry about you throughout the day. He knows you can take care of yourself, but the aching dread always finds a way to sneak in.

How high is your fever?

Are you drinking enough water?

Have you eaten anything today?

What if you’re already severely dehydrated and he doesn’t know it?

He’ll just start spiraling and continue to get more and more anxious with anticipation. Usually Zero has to call him out when this happens, and thankfully he doesn’t pry into what’s got him worked up (X would feel embarrassed admitting that he’s probably freaking out about a common cold or something.)

When he’s done with work for the day, he’ll go to the convenience store and pick up a six-pack of your favorite flavor of sports drink and pick up a hot bowl of soup he ordered from a popular restaurant in town. Robots often pick up food to deliver, so X figured the weird stares he got had to do with the fact that he still had his Hunter gear on. Shrugging it off, he finally makes his way over to your place.

X knocked 3 times before letting himself in. He announced his arrival as to not sneak up and startle you, but he learned it was all for naught when he spotted you fast asleep on the couch in the living room. He tip-toed over and gently placed his hand on you forehead and cheeks to feel your temperature. You definitely had a fever, but it wasn’t something to be too worried about.

Deciding not to stir you awake, he gracefully draped a thin blanket over you and left the soup on the side table for you to find. Sneaking his way into the kitchen, X put the drinks he bought into the fridge. He removed one from the pack to make a drink in one of those Yeti cups, so the ice would last a lot longer while you slept.

He stole one last glance at your sleeping figure before he left. Your face was flushed and saturated in color due to the fever, but you showed no signs of discomfort. Instead, you looked rather cozy in the blanket he provided you. You were completely at peace.

X always found it sweet that humans seem to hoard blankets to make their comes more comfortable for them. Or how they provide them to their friends and family so they can bask in that comfort as well. You were certainly no exception.

Content with his coddling, X showed himself out with the full intention of revisiting the next day.

"good morning. i had a dream last night. in my dream, i...you wanna know?"

you looked up blearily with a wary glance shot in the direction of the genius boy you loved so. you loved every part of him, even the parts that drove you mad such as this. but maybe early morning shenanigans was a little too far for you? not that you had the heart to tell him though.

"what did you dream of this time? i hope it's not another variation of the goldberg machine...it didn't work last time, in fact, it went up and burned the blueprints for my project." you yawned sleepily, stirring the steaming cup of coffee.

X merely shook his head profusely as he gestures for you to go over to him with a cocky smirk beginning to bloom on his lips, the smile that you'd fallen victim to countless times and this time you find yourself falling into his trap again.

“come here and i’ll tell you…”

you heaved a sigh, getting up from the dining table to move closer to him, only for him to seize you by the waist suddenly. you gasped in shock as X danced around the dining room with you in his arms, twirling and dipping you close to him. you could feel his breath hovering over your lips, the smell of his favourite scented tea latched onto his coat, feel the way his gloved hands sent electrifying shiver up to your spine as he held you tenderly.

"i dreamt of kissing you. now...should we make that a reality or overrule this as a theoretical possibility?" X murmured lowly, his mismatched eyes gazing deep into your soul. you could see sparks fly as his lips met yours, electrifying you and bringing you back to life.

maybe his dreams weren’t all bad if it meant that you could kiss your boyfriend senseless.
