Do people still do AH Minecraft fics anymore? I remember back in the early days we were awash with them but now people only seem to do the GTA or supernatural creatures ones, if any. Just asking because I've been rewatching YDYD2 (unfortunately containing ryan sex offender haywood, but I'm finding it easy enough now to just tune him right out) the Twins being absolutely feral in a button filled bunker is making me want to write nonsense

bro, i'm the worst person to ask.

i read fic sometimes, but the reason i had to stop was because the front page for AH stuff on ao3 was filled with shit that featured ryan "sex offender" haywood and/or his characters. no matter how many things i put in my blacklist, a fic with him in it would slip through the cracks, so i just gave up out of frustration.

so like, i bet people still do write minecraft fics, but they feel harder to find because of all the aforementioned bullshit. it's likely a mix of that and fic writers just being burnt out. most days, it's burnout from general everyday life, but if the writer became a fan before everything from last year happened, that can be another motivation killer.

no matter the reason, just write your fic anyway. you obviously want to write it, and that's enough motivation to start. other people enjoying your fic and giving feedback is another bonus :)
