Here’s the sketch I’ve been working on! Aviva dragging Zach to their next class in high school!

I like to imagine that Zach and Aviva were originally friendly rivals as kids in science camp and that they ended up going to the same high school after staying in touch as pen pals since their summer camp days. Their friendship picked up right where it left off, the two sharing a passion for science and bioengineering, however Zach began developing a crush on Aviva since she was the first person that was genuinely nice to him.

Aviva’s teenage design is based around her outfit and hairstyle as a child and her outfit and hairstyle as an adult. Similar for Zach, although I based his design more off of his outfit and hair as a child as I think the form fitting clothes and hair gel would have come into play when he started Varmitech Industries.

I love to imagine backstory for the crew and the villains! I’ve had some ideas recently about doing some “Wild Kratts: The College Days” drawings or fics, mostly of Aviva, Koki, Jimmy, and Zach, as I feel like they all went to the same college together. It would definitely be a fun concept to explore!

What is Zach’s job after he becomes good? Does he still invent just not use animals?

Hello, thank you so much for this ask! I am sorry it took me forever to get to it, but I’ve been thinking on it for a while and considering how these questions play into the greater role of my Wild Violet AU. And, after the events of the Our Blue and Green World special, I feel it is the perfect time to address this!

The short answer to your question is exactly how you presented it: Zach does continue to invent after he forgoes a life of villainy, and he simply does not use animals as the power source anymore.

But, there is more to this part of Zach’s story in my AU: Namely, he not only continues to be an inventor, but he becomes a member of the Wild Kratts Team alongside his wife Violet. Specifically, Zach and Violet join forces with Aviva and the rest of the Wild Kratts gang to create and utilize inventions that will benefit the greater creature world around them.

A detailed and long winded explanation as to why and how this happened can be found below the cut!

Within my Wild Violet AU, Zach turns from a life of villainy after the birth of his and my OC Violet’s oldest daughter Varina Virginia Varmitech. Immediately following her birth, Zach and Aviva have a discussion regarding the importance of a happy, healthy, comfortable, and full life for all living creatures, more of which can be found at this post!

This discussion helps Zach to come to the realization that he no longer feels the burning desire to be a villain like he once did; he in fact may not want to be a villain at all anymore. In the month after Varina’s birth, Zach and Violet are kept apart from Varina because she is in the NICU. They spend as much time with her as possible, and the Wild Kratts crew come by to visit the new family as well (either with Varina in the hospital or with Zach and Violet at Zach’s headquarters).

Zach and Aviva manage to rekindle their friendship during this time. At first their interactions are still tense, but they eventually become as close as they were as kids at summer camp prior to their falling out (I’ll be posting more on this, in response to another ask, soon).

Aviva becomes such a strong source of encouragement to Zach as he struggles through the first months of fatherhood. And during this time, she continuously encourages him to truly consider turning from a life of villainy as he expressed following Varina’s birth. Zach begins to consider what his life may look life if he’s not a villain, and he goes to Violet with dilemma.

Zach: “I just don’t know what I’ll do if I’m not a villain…”

Violet: “Well, what did you do before you became a villain?”

Zach: “I invented…I dreamed of becoming the World’s Greatest Inventor…”

Violet: “Then there’s your answer: Invent. Make the inventions that will help you to achieve that goal.”

Zach: “But…Aviva…she made my greatest invention…the Creature Power Disks…how can I compete with that?”

(PS: I will give moor info on this in another post very soon!)

Violet: “Who says you have to compete with her? Why can’t you make an even greater invention that the world will always remember you for? I’ve been telling you for years that you’re capable of anything you set your mind to, and you are!”

Zach: “I know…but…I just can’t do what she does alone. Sure, I have you and the Zachbots, but I really want to make a difference like Aviva has, and I just don’t think we can do that by ourselves.”

Violet: “Yeah, I think you’re right, you’d need a well formed team to reach your goals, and a team of a husband, wife, and an army of robots isn’t enough…”

Zach: “What are you saying?”

Violet: “Maybe we should ask some Wild Rats if they’d like for a couple of Wild Violets to join their team?”

Zach: “You mean work with the Wild Rats?!?! Invent with Aviva?!?!”

Violet: “Bingo! Zachy is the winner!”

So, Zach and Violet join the Wild Kratts Team and Zach and Aviva become invention partners working to better the world around them through their inventions! I have yet to determine the exact nature of their joint inventions, but they typically contain the basic components included in Aviva’s previous inventions: Animal inspiration.

I also think that together, with the help of Violet and the rest of the Wild Kratts Crew, Zach and Aviva embark on a mission to find a cure for cancer. Again, I am not 100% sure of the way in which this would occur, but I think they may discover a plant with extreme healing properties, and Zach and Violet realize that these properties may cure cancer. Aviva, then, assists them and together the three of them and the rest of the team create this much needed, life saving cure.

I’ve been wanting to make something with this song related to my interpretation of the Zach x Aviva relationship for so long! In my mind, these two are the definition of a romantic relationship gone toxic.

In the world of my fanfic, Zach and Aviva had once dated, but the relationship ended sour for both parties. Aviva especially ended up with much trauma related to Zach, haunted by the man she used to love but knowing that he’s not the man she fell in love with anymore.

For years I’ve thought this song perfectly describes that relationship and I finally decided to draw something for it! I thought Aviva would look perfect in Taylor Swift’s dress from the “Haunted” cover art, Zach’s figure looming over her as she tries to break free from the relationship, but remains forever haunted by all that transpired between them.

I’m so proud of this drawing and I think I’m really getting the style of the show down! This was my first attempt at a Wild Kratts style background and I think it looks pretty good! Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy my art! Let me know what you think of it!

So, I imagined Violet and Zach going on a double date with Ari and Martin. For some reason, it seems to me that our s/i-s would get along well when there would be an awkward s i l e n c e between Martin and Zach at the same time, when one watches the other so that he doesn’t do anything wrong x'>

Uhhhhh, for starters, this is absolutely not idiotic and unrealistic, I love this so much, and I totally could see this happening! This absolutely needs to happen!!!!

Violet has never been an “official villain” in my book, she is sort of a devoted assistant/sidekick like Dabio and Rex. Similar to them she would do anything and everything to make her villain, in this case Zach, happy. But where she diverts from Dabio and Rex is in the fact that she absolutely loves animals and nature. Violet has been known to sabotage Zach’s evil plots in order to ensure that the animals he is trying to make robots out of are healthy and safe.

So, in a way she does underhandedly help out the Wild Kratts team, which is why she has a decent relationship with them (besides Aviva, but that’s a different story, lol) despite how they view Zach. And since Ari is Martin’s special someone, Violet would similarly be able to develop a decent relationship with her too!

I’m unsure what Ari’s exact backstory is, but I can’t help but think that maybe she and Violet crossed paths prior to their romantic relationships with Martin and Zach. Maybe they were friends at some point, but they grew distant (I’m just thinking it happened when Violet was in the toxic relationship with her ex before Zach). Eventually they reconnected once Violet started working for Zach. And despite knowing Zach is a villain, this does now change Ari’s opinion about Violet, because she also knew, most likely, how strongly Violet felt for Zach prior to the beginning of their romantic relationship.

Perhaps this is all too far fetched, but it all seems reasonable to me! Therefore, I imagine that Martin and Ari would be willing to invite Zach and Violet on a double date. And Zach and Martin are just glaring at each other the whole time, while protectively holding onto their loves 🥹.

Zach uses his Varmitechnology to mind-control a bunch of meerkats to bring his former colleague/campmate gifts.

I don’t headcanon him having feelings for her in the actual show, don’t get me wrong. But they must have had some sort of friendship at one point. Maybe that’s a strong word, or some sort of rapport at least that they worked together long enough to know that significant information about each other. 

I just like the scenario in my weird mind.

I’ve figured it out- Detailed Roles for Kratts x Family!

Martin

Agent Blue is a spy based in the U.S., born and raised in New Jersey. Just like in canon, he’s that fun-loving, laid back, joking Martin we know through and through. He manages to find humor in and smile in every situation that he finds himself, whether it’s having to kill, defusing bombs, having to get close to his target, joining groups that threatened national safety. He takes on the alias Martin Kratt in this mission to stop Zach, Donita, and Gourmand.

Chris

Agent Cadmium is a Hungarian spy, born in Budapest and raised in various cities across Hungary and Austria, seeing that the two countries work closely together when it comes to trade and national security. Cadmium’s mother, Agent Jade, was a spy who mainly took missions gathering intelligence for other spies with missions more dangerous than her own, and as he grew up, Agent Jade and her supervisor took to training him for spy work when he came of age. He takes on the alias of Chris Kratt in this new mission, partnered with U.S. spy, Agent Blue.

Aviva, Koki, and Jimmy Z

These three are still the trio we know and love- an inventor, a mechanic, and laid-back pilot. The three of them met in college, Koki and Aviva being roomies and dual majors in biology and engineering, and Jimmy being an aero-engineering teacher’s assistant while going through pilot training. The three of them came together in the plans for the Tortuga, Aviva’s biggest invention yet, and have since been dying to achieve their dreams of traveling and advocating for wildlife conservation and research. When the Kratt brothers are introduced by a supposedly renowned conservationist, they’re more than happy to take the Bros onto their team, unaware of the spy antics that lay ahead.

For this AU, Donita and Gournand will remain ordinary. Zach, on the other hand...

Zach Varmitech is a “genius robotics inventor” by day, but when night falls, he takes on the alias of the Silver Prince, an assassin feared by all across the globe. He’s a master of the trade, skilled with weapons, combat, and poisons alike, all of which he can’t use on his new rivals if he doesn’t want his ass on the line. He’d be found out as an assassin in no time at all. So he hides behind the whiny, cowardly exterior, obvious to the fact that two spies have been sent to stop him from committing his crimes against nature.

Still not sure who our telepath is gonna be- I may just create an OC but we’ll see!!
