If you haven’t got a black candle, white is a good substitute. If you don’t have all the ingredients for the banishing mixture, just use what you do have, but you can substitute any spice with finely chopped up rosemary. Vinegar is crucial as it helps to make a paste that you can then dress your candle with. Let the candle fully burn out and melt onto the paper and then throw the remnants of the spell in the trash as a symbol of removing the people/person/things and their influences from your life. This means it’s particularly good as a cleanser and to purify any area of negative energy. Many Witches use salt to create boundaries in spells and rituals by using it to draw a protective circle around them. It’s also good for home protection - sprinkle salt around the outside of the house. If this isn’t possible, dissolve a few spoons of salt in hot water, then once it cools, spray it on the threshold of your home. It’s time to look to others for help and support in moving a creative idea forward. Everyone has their own skills and talents and and the people around you could really help you to get you where you want to be. Be clear about you want to achieve and plan how you’ll work towards your goals. This card offers encouragement that you’re on the right track and you are making real progress, even if you can’t don’t necessarily feel you are. Just make sure you are well prepared and organised and you’ll achieve you goals. 3. You need to have a clear plan about what you want to do, how you want to do it as well as what this inner change means to you. Folk practices have their roots far back in time in a much older way of life and have been created and shaped by the people and the culture they originate from. It’s something I have found that I’m practicing more and more in my own Craft over the last 3 months as I research the folk tales and magick associated with the place I was born and now live. Folk practitioners don’t necessarily follow any deity but they can follow another religion such as Christianity which shapes their magick. Many Witchcraft traditions like traditional and Wicca have merged folk magick into the way they practice the Craft. Folk magick is usually of a practical nature which is meant to solve the common problems within a community such: healing, banishing evil/negative forces and bringing good harvests. Hey lovelies! 💜 Just stopping by to introduce myself to anyone who has just started to follow me. I’m the face behind The Witch of the Forest🌳🧙🏻 My name is Lindsay and I’m nearly 39 years old. I was born & live in South Yorkshire, England with my two black cats called Luna (long story 😂) & a mischievous tuxedo cat named Merlin. I’ve got 9 piercings & 10 tattoos. I must admit I have a weakness for men with tattoos too, especially sleeves 🤭 I have been a practicing witch for 16 years, ten of those being in the broom closet where I was unable to be honest about my beliefs and practices as I was married to a Church of England priest (I became a witch after I got married). My sun sign is Taurus, my moon sign is Gemini and I’m an Aquarius rising. I’m an empath and even after all these years, I sometimes struggle to protect my own energy in certain situations. I’m getting better with time with the more I practice protection. My ancestors, familiar and household spirits form a central part in my practice. I’m also increasingly bringing more folk magick into my Craft as I connect with the traditions and practices of the place I come from. I am an writer and published author. It’s a dream come true to be able to say that! I’ve written four books and created a tarot deck, to help those at the beginning of their Witchcraft journey or those that have been practicing for a while but want to deepen their Craft (order them from the link in my bio). I’m also a spoonie - I suffer from fibromyalgia, chronic daily migraines & hypermobility and have done for over 13 years.
