What an encouraging thought.
You’re a better writer than you were yesterday, and you’ll be a better writer tomorrow than you are today.
Writing is funny like that — there’s no real point where we max out our writing skills. We just keep getting better and better, day by day, word by word.
The more we fall in love with writing, every single second we spend on our craft… We get better. And we’ll never stop getting better. We’ll always get better.
I think that’s beautiful.

Writer’s Block
Give me a word to describe this empty feeling inside
I want to write but I have no words
Help me to explain the heartbreak I feel
When my tongue can no longer express what I need it to
What am I to do when there is so much to say and no way to say it?
Please give me the strength to muster out some long-lost syllables
Whether they be eloquent
Or Raw and cutting
Just as long as they help me speak my mind.
Because I am so hopelessly lost
So scared
So helpless
I’ve been stitched up
Sealed.
But there is so much left inside of me,
I’m bursting at the seams
And all there is to do is wait
Wait for something
Anything I suppose, Ugly or otherwise
So, I’ll ask you again
Give me a word to describe this empty feeling
Maybe you’ll awaken a forgotten spark inside me
Then I can feel like myself once again.

My favorite Tolkien quote. I absolutely love this part of the book. Everytime I read it I have to stop and think for a while.

What is Love?
Love is a funny thing. It starts with infatuation, but turns into something much stronger.
When you first start to love someone you feel the need to fill every space with something, wether that be words or entertainment. But as you grow in your relationship however, things change.
You begin to enjoy the silence together, the little doldrum chores of everyday life become fun just because they’re there.
You begin to miss them at odd times, like right before you fall asleep and when you first wake up in the morning.
Before, long poetic messages that rambled on and on couldn’t begin to say half as much as you wanted them to. But now, a simple touch says everything and more.
