Fascinating crew of folks together on this:

If the trajectory is anything like it is/was for visual art, the plea here may very well be too late. Generally, computer-generated “content” isn’t really an issue… THE ISSUE is the data sets used to train the algorithms.

Our stance: If one has not provided express consent for one’s work to be used in data training sets then plagiarism has occurred.

Having a kind of insider knowledge of how these “AI” and algorithms work, I’m confident in that stance.

Here’s hoping for the best… but the world tends to let down those who simply hope….

In the meantime, visual artists can and SHOULD disrupt the development of these algorithms as much as they can.

Useful tools like GLAZE and NIGHTSHADE exist and should be used whenever possible.

Possibly my biggest art influence, knowing of his passing was like getting hit by a freight train. Farewell Toriyama, you won't be forgotten.

Sometimes the lack of which is, ironically, inspiration enough, lol.

Briefly spotlighting "Micro Bruise"

The single cover for “Micro Bruise” is a sort of nod to Nine Inch Nail’s “Pretty Hate Machine” cover. Bearing similar pallet and ‘visual-essence’.

The song is an exercise in navigating a nearly static rhythmic base and exploring different stylistic approaches within that boundary.

A lot of cool sounds heard are actually bass guitar (provided by the incomparable James Bradshaw).

The video is an ambitious selection of eclectic flashing nightmare images. If it makes you anxious, it’s meant to make you anxious.

Tis a Good’n. If you’re not aware, Band Camp is going through… well, some THINGS at the moment, the long term effects of which are yet to be seen. So for the time being we’ll still be releasing music there. We’ll let you know if or when that changes. That said, we’re working out some additional ideas for distribution including some nifty FREE options that may get rolled out here in the near future. “Free”, after all, is the tastiest flavor of anything really. At this stage for Maid, eyes and ears are the most important things for us. They’ll keep the wheels a’turning and the good stuff a’flowin’.
