Because why not. So I finally managed to get Die's and Toshiya's picks. Those are little things that make me happy. Because life is about enjoying the little things.

Finally I have my lovely teacup duo! Some time ago I bought this Rosenthal studio linie teacup but there was no saucer. I've been looking for a saucer since then. And few days ago I finally found it in Germany. The saucer is in perfect condition and to my surprise it was made for Rosenthal's 100th anniversary. I really love this set. It was designed by Tapio Wirkkala and it's called Composition Eisblume. Scandinavian design is just timeless.

Several days ago I found my very first doll I bought as an adult. That was the beginning of my doll collection. Back then I wanted to buy a Monster High doll but I missed every single one I really liked. So I ended up with Ever After High Cerise Hood in its basic version. Some time later I thought I'm not fond of that doll to the extent I want to keep it, so I sent it to a friend who was making OOAK dolls. I was very surprised when she sent the doll back to me but it was now completely different. She made a lovely OOAK doll - did the repaint, reroot and even sew the clothes. I really like the new look of that doll. It had a black faux leather jacket but unfortunately the leather started to peel over time and moreover it stained the doll's forearms. I really don't know what to do about those stains, I tried acetone but it didn't work. I suppose I should sew some kind of mittens. Anyway, I'm not gonna get rid of that doll because it reminds me how my collection had started.
These days I have no time to take decent photos so I just took those snapshots on my way home from shopping. That colourful graffiti simply caught my attention, finally some nice art instead of just random scribbles. And since it's spring I took a photo of blooming white lilac.

Waiting for a suburban train was an opportunity to take some photos of old mosaic wall panels. Although the railway station looks shabby, those colourful mosaic panels are like hidden art pieces. And the last photo is a mirror mosaic swallow that someone has placed on the wall of 1920s building.

So I bought this Ken BMR1959 to turn him into my OOAK doll. Unfortunately I'm not an artist therefore I need to find someone who can do the reroot and repaint this guy for me. I suppose it won't be easy. Well, if that fails, I won't whine. He's not so bad after all, even in his original form and despite I hate that kind of hairstyle on men.

That was a spontaneous purchase. I decided to give Mattel just one more chance. The first attempt to buy a decent doll was a failure since it had uneven eyes and chipped paint on lips. I immediately returned that sh*t to the store. The second doll that came was OK with only super tiny painting defect on its left eyebrow. But that really doesn't bother me. His hair was rock hard so I had to wash it thoroughly. And I put the head on Made to Move body. He looks so much better now. I bought him a handmade jeans outfit. He's gonna be my 1/6 scale OC.

No luck with catching plectrums or drumsticks during gigs so I bought that one. I've been into j-rock and visual kei for so long. I attended many concerts though not as many as I wanted. I hope I'll be able to see and hear more bands. I'm so happy all those Japanese artists came to my country and gave such wonderful shows. I still have their photos, posters, autographs and some merchandise gadgets. I've even written some reviews of the shows. Music is truly something that connects people regardless age, nationality, faith, etc.

And so spring has come to my country. It's warm at last and full of fresh green. Trees and shrubs are blooming. Pink and white blossom visited by bees and butterflies are so eye-catching that I feel tempted to take a lot of photos. And after many days of cold and rain it's very refreshing to take a walk in the sunshine, breathing in the delicate scent of white blossom.

I decided to take some abstract/artistic photos having in mind the tips from Bryan Peterson's books on photography. The weather wasn't nice so I only went to the nearest park and took several photos of some graffiti and puddles. The last photo is a kind of pun. That little bird's name in Polish is mazurek (Eurasian tree sparrow) and 'mazurek' is also a traditional sweet Easter cake - so that's my 'mazurek' for Easter. :)

Spring has finally come. And I decided to welcome the season with some artistic and cultural events. I spotted two Spring themed murals and an old house number lantern. A walk in a remote district allowed me to take photos of some stone sculptures from 1978-1980. Even without looking at the titles it's quite easy to guess the meaning of those artworks.
I also managed to attend DIR EN GREY concert in my city. I had marvellous time! I haven't been to any concert for a really long time so it was a very refreshing experience. Die was gorgeous as always and, oh boy! he does know how to seduce his fans with his gaze and facial expression. Moreover, Die's and Toshiya's stage outfits let us admire their shapely legs.

That was totally spontaneous. I bought a second-hand Pilot Barbie 1999, got rid of her damaged body and put the head on Made to Move body. The skin tone match isn't perfect but I don't mind. I've always thought that particular Barbie with Mackie mold resembles Harry Makepeace from "Dempsey & Makepeace" so yeah, it will be my own Sgt. Makepeace. I intend to give her some 80s clothes and props. Meanwhile, that jacket belonging to Jazzie is the most 80s looking piece I have for my 1/6 dolls. Of course my pretty detective needs a gun and badge but I didn't have time to prepare them in advance. The motorcycle belongs to Flavas doll and I used it just for this one photoshoot. Some time ago I got second-hand Flavas dolls Tre and Kiyoni but without a motorbike. Last week I managed to buy the bike and I really like it despite all the scratches and loose mirrors.

That's what the doll and the bike looked like when I got them. I had no intention of keeping the doll's original body so I really didn't mind buying it damaged. The bike is in decent condition and so is my Tre. I just need to give Tre a wig or something 'cause his flocked hair is almost gone.

Since I'm into mid-century modern design, I couldn't miss the chance to buy that lovely sugar bowl. It's a project of a Polish designer, Jozef Wrzesien. It was created in 1959. The sugar bowl is a part of a coffee set called 'Iza' sold in variety of colours. That particular manner of painting was one of the most popular, thus the set wasn't pricey. Perhaps if I were money-oriented collector, this would bother me, but since I collect items just for fun, it's OK not to have any valuable things. I just like the shape of that sugar bowl, it reminds me of a small pumpkin.
Another thing I got some time ago is a keychain designed by Karim Rashid in cooperation with Troika. A simple form and vivid colour is something a minimalist would definitely like. I am a minimalist in many ways so that keychain immediately drew my attention.

Time's slipping through my fingers. I feel like nothing I do makes sense. All is meaningless. So why should I struggle? I'm too tired to drag my ass out of here and take some decent photos so here are some crappy ones.
The sculpture in the first two photos is "Self-acceptance". Perhaps it drew my attention because I still lack self-acceptance no matter how hard I try to be good to myself. Is it better to stop chasing dreams? Can I call not expecting anything from life a real freedom? If only I knew how to clear my mind... Seems like nothing works for me.

So here are some shots from my city, architectural monuments from 1920s. I'm not particularly interested in architecture but I do appreciate its visual side. All those details, decorative elements make a building unique.

Last Sunday I went to Wola, a more industrial district of my city. There is a place called The Sculpture Square where metal sculptures are gathered. Those abstract sculptures were created in 1968. They require some maintenance but are still fascinating.

Hikaru is showing off his six-pack abs. He was my grail doll. I love that sculpt - it's a perfect Asian boy. Carmen of Little Rebel Doll did a wonderful job. I have a weakness for monolid eyes and big lips so I just had to add that head to my BJD collection. It's been 6 years now since I got him. He's on Luts Senior65 Delf body. And it's so damn heavy compared to my MSD dolls. He's posing nicely although I wish his knees were double-jointed. As my original character he's hafu, Japanese-Korean, 25 years old and openly gay. He's keen on art and works in a small antique shop.

I didn't have time to celebrate my Valentine boy's birthday (yes, it was on February 14) so I'm doing it now with this photoshoot. I really can't stop raving about him. Tristan is just pure perfection. It's been a year now since I got him. My friend did a splendid job giving him such a lovely faceup and making a wig. Today he borrowed a shirt from Oriana and I have to say it suits him. And he got a gamepad to play some games. However I suppose he'll be more busy having sex with his boyfriend than playing games.
