SCENARIOS WITH UNDERTONES OF TENSION

1) one muse quietly sits beside the other while they cry so they won’t be alone and to make sure no one bothers them.

2) one muse rests their hands on the other’s shoulders from behind,  intending to soothe them and intimidate an unwelcome third party. 

3)  one muse pulls the other into an alley or small space to avoid a third party,  their faces a little too close together. 

4) for our muses to get in an argument but after one muse steps closer while making a point,  they get distracted by how near they are.  bonus points for eyes wandering to the other’s lips. 

5) for one muse to firmly grab a hold of the other while arguing,  the touch slowly growing gentler as they recognize how strong their emotions are for them. 

6) one muse discovers the other has placed themselves in a dangerous,  under cover situation and steps in to help but gives them a severe look when no one is watching to indicate their disapproval. 

7) one muse is in a precarious situation and thinks the rival muse is going to expose or betray them,  but instead they help. 

8) one muse can tell the other is hiding something and grabs a hold of their shoulders to keep them still and make them admit it. 

9) one muse gives the other a brief casual touch,  unintentionally stirring up emotions in the other who swears the warmth lingers on their skin. 

10) one muse is in danger and the other takes hold of their hand to lead them to safety. 

11) one muse is trying to intimidate the other in an attempt to push them away,  but they step closer instead and refuse to let it affect them. bonus points for answering gruffness with gentleness. 

12) a rival or antagonistic muse requires help and coerces the other into giving it to them,  but it leads to them protecting the other muse with a little too much care. 

13) rival or antagonistic muse gets hurt defending the other,  who then forces them to let them treat the injury. 

14) one muse figure out the other is hiding something from them and thinks it’s a betrayal,  only to confront them and realize the other was protecting them  (  possibly at great cost or sacrifice  ). 

15) a muse who is a rival or claims dislike of the other gets angry on their behalf and does something to get revenge for or protect them. 

16) one muse tries to pick a fight with the other because they’re upset,  but they refuse to participate and hug them until they stop struggling. 

17) one muse has been holding a grudge only to discover the other has been secretly doing something to help them. 

18) one muse broke the other’s trust and gets hurt doing something rash to try and win it back. 

19) one muse gets hurt trying to help the other which leads to an argument,  resulting in the one who was being protected to proclaim how much they care about the injured party. 

20) one muse gets hurt trying to help the other which leads to an argument,  resulting in the one injured to proclaim how much they care about the one they were protecting. 

21) antagonistic muse sets out to kill the other,  however the target is too accepting of their fate which makes the antagonist hesitant and curious. 

22) one muse briefly touches the other but when they start to withdraw,  the other places a hand over theirs to keep it in place. 

23) one muse hugs a gruffer or rival muse and refuses to let go until they hug back. 

24) an antagonistic or rival muse is given an act of kindness which baffles them and leads them to stare at the one who gave it with a puzzled expression. 

25) a rival or antagonistic muse ends up being the unlikely person to be there when the other finally breaks down over something they have been suppressing for the sake of their loved ones.

can be used as starter or plotting prompts! 

1) one muse putting their hand over the other’s mouth while they have sex.

2) our muses with unspoken feelings forced to share a bed and end up cuddling. 

3) our muses have unspoken feelings but one of them is upset so the other holds them.

4) our muses have a very strong bond, but haven’t admitted to romantic feelings and one of them just comes and cuddles up to the other for comfort. 

5) sender is in a vulnerable state and the only person they trust is receiver,  who approaches them to try and help.

I’m hoping to find a club to meet like twice weekly on campus so I can be accountable for some dedicated writing time but I’m having a hard time finding one ☹️ if anyone has any tips or know how I can do that safely online I would appreciate it!

Gosh every time I reblog this there's new shadow and bone content to lose my mind over with you somanywords, lol.

I think they played up more of the funny, charismatic parts of the characters, while exploring the dark parts, but there wasn't as much character stuff in the two next episodes I suppose. But I really love Wanda and Vision, romantically, and T'Challa and Nakia are just god tier. All of the relationships in Black Panther, romantic and platonic are god tier, tbh. Platonically, I thought most of the few female interactions we got in Infinity War and Endgame were fun, but I want so much more of those.

Gosh, you know it’s been crazy lately! I haven’t been around much on tumblr or AO3, I apologize, but I’m so busy trying to finish out my senior year of high school! it’s crazy to write that, but yeah, I needed to figure out what college I’m going to next year, as well as managing being captain for the spring track and field season and finishing out my academic year. 

on the more exciting writing side of things, I’m currently managing five projects right now? which is exhausting and slightly obsessive and takes up way too much of my headspace, so I’m trying to figure out to balance doing what I love and not unhealthily obsessing over it, y’know? I’ve got two original projects, two fanfic projects (including Blood Magic) and a partner project I’m currently very hyped about. 

I finished Ruin and Rising, which was a five star read, and I’m currently getting through King of Scars which is seriously a treat. 

But what about you somanywords?? How are you doing? what are you reading/writing/doing lately?

I did slide that in a little too casually, didn't I? haha.

I got my copy through this random contest thing she did, where she would post a bookstore every day at 9am and the first fifty people to preorder from that store got their copies with the personalization and the signature! I actually cried when I found out I won because Leigh Bardugo is my favorite author and her books just mean so much to me.

I am watching FATWS, it's going slow because I'm actually trying to watch it with my family, which is slowing me down lol. I haven't seen episode 4, so no spoilers, but so far I think there's some heavy handed allegory and symbolism that frustrates me, and I wish Bucky and Sam were more how they were the first episode, but overall, I think it's really good. I've loved the MCU since I was a kid so getting to see it on the small screen and getting to watch them really delve into complex emotional story-telling is incredible. I'm so happy with the direction they're going, and how much more space there is now to tell more delicate and drawn-out stories. Hopefully they keep it in good-taste and with good writing, but yeah I'm surprisingly optimistic. I'd love to see another female centric story like Wanda's, but with slightly better execution.

you all know that Leigh Bardugo stanning hours are 24 f***king 7 around here, but lets talk specifically about our favorite main characters and their particular ways of seeing themselves. Leigh Bardugo has an incredible way of not only proving the personality of a character, but making it permeate the entire story, including all of their inner thoughts. It's especially clear in the way they address and think about themselves. I've attached my own summarized versions of each character's arc and how they deal with it, the way they think about it, and why it makes sense for their character's personality.

Alina Starkov (who is caught constantly between Mapmaker and Saint): Am I worthy of Mal? Yes, you have tremendous power that might quite possibly save the nation. But is that just ego talking? No, the Darkling is interested in you. In a perverse kind of way though, right? Doesn't matter, you're powerful all on your own. But is that what I want? Yes, it is, it's who you were meant to be. But is that what I want? Everybody loves you, everybody needs you. But is that what I want? You can defeat the Darkling, you could defeat death. But isn't that power corrupting me? You were you all along, with or without the power.

Nikolai Lantsov (who is more in touch with himself than any other character in the Grishaverse is): "Hi, my name is Nikolai and just so you know, I use suave humor and impeccable wit to cover up the fact that I know I am almost ambitious to a fault and terrified of failure. If there's anything else you'd like to know about me, just ask and I will tell you all of it. In the most brilliantly interesting and well-phrased way as possible, of course."

Alex Freaking Stern (who is far smarter than she gives herself credit for): *realizes and understands that she's a product of the life she's been dealt and a system working against her, but also that she has made some really bad life decisions and needs to face the consequences of those, and that overall, it's not too late to start making the choices that will ultimately prove the worth of her life in the long run*

Kaz Brekker (who rationalizes instead of overcoming): There's No Problem Here. Just some Good Old Fashion Revenge thirsting. No Problem Here, just Brilliant Heisting and No Emotion. There is No Problem Here. No Trauma Here, no sir. Wait. Maybe there is something there. But I've been ignoring this for too long. Maybe it's too late. But maybe it's not. Maybe, I can be the Right Man for her. Maybe she's the reason to Address My Trauma. Maybe I'M the right reason to Address My Trauma.

Perhaps this is the reason her characters feel so distinct and beautiful and complex in my head, because their way of thinking about themselves is so human. There's a filter over everything we see in life, and that applies to even our most inner selves, and in these examples, we see that each of these character's self-talk is congruent with how they view the world.

its been weird being off the internet for so long and coming back and realizing the SHOW DROPS IN LIKE LESS THAN THREE WEEKS. I'm trying to balance the hype but I can't barely contain my excitement. All of the photos and clips that dropped today certainly aren't helping. and Six of Crows is my comfort novel so I totally do not blame you.

Also, I don't mean to flex but this is one of the only groups I'm a part of that knows what this means so: I got my Rule of Wolves signed and personalized with my name in it by Leigh Bardugo. AHHH. I scream every single time I open it. It's one of my most prized possessions now.

And yes, let's talk about writing soon when I can properly be in the right brain.
