I know the irony of posting this here, but dear people, the amount of time and peace you have if you put your phone away for the day, or just a few hours, is wonderful and necessary.

I still remember the time when there was no portable internet and I was reflecting with someone on the peace and immense amount of time there seemed to be, concluding that a very large part has to do with not having to be constantly engaged. Being able to reflect, take quiet time out, not having to be entertained every second of the day.

I've taken to doing this more often lately, and the peace it gives me to just sit, draw, read, pray.. in silence, just being in the now and being thankful. I can warmly recommend this to everybody here. If you feel overwhelmed, like you have no time, like you're too tired to do anything but scroll- put it away and just be. Pray, sing, stare out the window. We weren't meant to spend life on a screen as big as your hands in a world so vast and beautiful.

okay i would like to be in a studio ghibli film but NOT for the cute houses or beautifully animated bread or even the magic. it’s like….u know how almost every ghibli film involves the main character going on some kind of lifechanging journey wherein their self-image solidifies & their heart grows & they flourish and mature in all that independence & form unexpected bonds with the most wonderful people along the way? i’d like to be in a ghibli film for that specifically

30.10.21// It's beginning to feel like winter and I'm not ready to let go of my iced coffee. Anyway, I started re-reading this beauty. I've been on a re-reading spree, I finished the first four books of 'The iron fey' series a few days back. It brought back 10th grade memories, the first time I'd read it. I looked up its tag on Tumblr and realised that it has a small, yet loyal fanbase here.

look i will be the first to admit that the narnia films aren't perfect but gods if prince caspian didn't do an absolutely incredible job at capturing some of the intense bittersweetness and nostalgia associated with the idea of kings and queens returning to their lands thousands of years later in the bodies of children?? which is a premise that makes me go absolutely feral and lewis did not do enough with but, like, the scene where they stand in the ruins of their castle and realise how much time must have passed? "you were older then"??? the whole scene where they arrive at aslan's how and the pevensies walk together slightly ahead of capsian??? the paintings of them on the wall that have clearly been there for ages, the way that mr tumnus's lullaby plays whilst the camera zooms in on the painting of them? the history book that has them in it?? the ending scene, with regina spektors absolutely iconic song?? the brilliant juxtaposition of their childhood in london and adventures in narnia?? just i cannot express enough how much this movie makes me feel things

21.10.21// just rewatched Prince Caspian and observed that it's almost 2022 and I'm still mad about the silver chair not being made. And, I'm almost 24 but the last scene where Lucy realizes that it's Peter and Susan's last time there still makes me ugly cry.

It's been months since I posted anything here. I wasn't in the right mental state and a lot has happened. I hope to continue posting pictures of coffee, books and films I've been obsessing about more frequently.

P.S - the picture shows today's coffee and a bowl of apple with cinnamon. Having black coffee with this combination has become my new favorite thing. Don't know if it's healthy though.

It was a wholesome day. I did some exercise after a long, long time. It felt great. I have to start going to bed early because I function well when I wake up early. After years of experimentation and frustrating alarms, I've figured out that I am a morning person.

This picture is from day before's journalling session. I was inspired by the arrow painting sticker to go for a Greek theme. I've still not finished it. I'll certainly put it on my instagram when I'm done, though. In case anybody's interested, here's the link. There's other dark academia and aesthetic stuff too!

Today was great! I washed my hair (which is a monumental task because of the freezing cold weather), cleaned my room (finally) and had a wholesome lunch. My to do list included filling in the 'intentions for the year' section in my journal, get some physical activity and study in the evening (I simply couldn't get myself to do that because I was too lazy). But it's okay.
