watching rupaul for the first time and learning about all the overcorrecting that had to be done for some of the vaguely transmisogynistic stuff that was said (and apologized pretty sincerely for) way back when and just getting so frustrated at the insistence on separating queer identities into neat little categories and gatekeeping who is and isn't allowed to use what words it just sucks

like babes it is not transmisogynistic to call drag queens things like girls and ladies and women because gender is a performance and words don't mean anything. it sucks that so much of the terminology on the show had to be changed and sanitized because some feds decided it was making fun of trans women when the reality is just that drag queens and trans women have TONS of overlap in identity and experience because they are sisters that is the point! we are a community! of people who overlap and divert and shit! which is why there is a ton of queens on that very show who wound up being whole ass women later!

i understand why people wouldn't wanna hear things like the t slur on tv in the modern day and age but ru's response to that being "...people call us that too?" was so fucking on POINT like a transphobe doesn't fucking care if you're ~technically~ a woman or ~technically~ a man if they think you look a certain way they are going to point at you and call you the same slurs. using my own experience, i hate it when i hear bi girls say they cant reclaim the word dyke. you think some homophobe on the street is gonna care you date men sometimes? no! they're gonna see you with a girl and scream dykes.

every so often i remember the proposed childhood flashback scene in TR in which loki would have bullied thor and i get so angry steam starts coming out of my ears. mhm yeah that's totally the power dynamic at play and would not be retconning anything significant at all, that's why the scenes that made it into the movie include one where thor casually threatens to murder loki using the symbol of his superiority in the eyes of their father, one where thor bulldozes over loki's protests about "humiliation" and uses him as an inanimate weapon by physically throwing him across the room, and one where thor just straight up tortures loki while giving him a smug speech about how LOKI needs to do more self-reflection 👍 i know it's literally not real and can't hurt me but jesus christ the amount of victim blaming you have to be doing to even come up with that concept...

I AGREE its so crazy how zap gags weren't a thing.... like TTCC really popped off with that one! i understand TTR is moreso sticking closer to the way TTO was but WOW zap just feels so natural with a REALLY good mechanic that uses strategy in using squirt and its just so good.... also my favorite track

YEEEPP!! That's how I feel about it. Squirt and zap just mix well together. I also think the addition of an 8th gag track was also a good move, allowing for a nice rotation of combinations (like how lure-trap and throw-drop are together as a combo). And also its a nice even number. I also think it helps utilize squirt, idk just feels good to do in general. Of course, I don't really have anything to compare this to and it's just me speaking as a player of (currently) one server, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
