Bananas In Adventure Time

Many of you might remember the endless use of bananas in the episode “Return to the Nightosphere” and “Daddy’s Little Monster.” This is my favorite joke in the show because it is just a nice nod to the history of comedy. 

In the beginning of the episode the boys wake up in a jail cell in the Nightosphere, surrounded by bananas. When approaching a guard Jake asks what’s up with all the bananas- the guard responds in disgust. Every time Jake asks about the banana the Nightosphere demons are grossed out by him.

Later in the episode it’s shown that the bananas are used as “weird punishment” on the demons. The punishments include endlessly barfing bananas and having bananas seemingly defecated out of their ears.

I think this is a nod towards the banana peel slip gag which (maybe) was meant to be a “polite” way to represent slipping on animal droppings. So, yeah... the bananas are poop.

I love the way that bananas are used in this show in general. There’s many gags and nods towards using bananas as funny little props. Finn even does the classic banana gag himself in “Blenanas”

Idk maybe there wasn’t any thought put into it- maybe it was just to be funny but it’s still interesting to think about.

The story of the lucky three-tailed Kaminoan Spongeworm

So there was this myth floating around back on Kamino: The lucky three-tailed Spongeworm

First thing you need to know about Kaminoan Spongeworms is that they only have two tails, they're really slow, and they stick to the stilts of Tipoca City.

They kind of look like this (Can't really draw, sorry):

Sometimes, when we did amphibious training drills near the stilts, we could see them crawl up and down on them grazing for algae. One of my batchmates heard from one of the older cadets that one of his batchers swore he saw one with three tails. Of course, everyone said he must have a defect in his optical nerve, because there is no such thing. And then someone else said they saw one too. And they both said, that they only saw it for a second or two and that it quickly scurried away.

Yeah, right! Total Banthacrap! Spongeworms don't do anything quickly! That's why we called the slowest cadet on the running track The Spongeworm. Because he's slow.

Anyway, the next day, both of them were choosen for specialized training. One became a Dive Trooper and the other was trained as a Medic. And then it happened again and again. At least twelve cadets, that I know of, saw a three-tailed Spongeworm and then got chosen.

So of course, every time we went into the water, we would keep an eye out for a Spongeworm with three tails for good luck.

I never saw one of them, but sometimes I wonder what specialty I would've gotten if I did.

Idk he seemed to be having a lot of second doubts, I don't think he's going to make Marwa a vampire on purpose. I can totally see it as an accident, or someone else biting her.

Guillermo was amazing this episode, ofc.

Now, I may be very much reading into the lines here, and I'm sorry for that, but I think Nandor is starting to like Guillermo?

We haven't seen Marwa be so affectionate with Guillermo before, and that could just be wedding night happiness, or gratefulness towards him, but Nandor's wish for Marwa to want what he wants?

This is very much wishful thinking, but something to look into
