One day, Steve, Robin, and Eddie all leave Hawkins together. Nancy's already gone off to take the journalism world by storm. Jon and Argyle are taking it easy, traveling, having a good time. And the kids are still in school.

He fucking loves it. He didn't realise how much he missed swimming, being on a team of actually nice fucking dudes who care about the sport. And they're good. But the kicker? So is Steve.

And he didn't really realise it until now. He knew he liked swimming, he knew his coach back in Hawkins likes him, he knew he got made co-captain. But a part of him started to wonder if people complimented him because he was popular and mean. If he got made captain because his dad was rich and influential. But here at college no one knows who King Steve is. No one can see his hair under his swim cap. He's just Steve, a good fucking swimmer.

He comes back from practice to his and Robin's apartment smelling of chlorine and his fruity shampoo, duffelbag slung over his shoulder. His wardrobe is slowly filling with more swim team shirts, hoodies, a professional track suit for meets. And so Robin and Eddie slowly steal his old Hawkins Swim Team shirts, wearing the soft worn cotton as pajamas.

Eddie isn't in college, doesn't want to be, but doesn't mind being dragged to the occasional college party. He got a job at a small hole in the wall music store, and has started up Corroded Coffin in the apartment he shares with Gareth and Jeff. (He stays over with Steve and Robin as often as he can).

Robin is acing her classes, is in Band, and has befriended a small group of other queer women. And you just know on swimming meet or competition days Robin is going to support Steve with Eddie and maybe some of her queer friends - all of them chanting Harrington. And Steve blushes, he's never really had people support him that much before. Tommy and Carol weren't the type ya know?

But now he has Robin, his best friend, love of his platonic life. He spots her wearing his old Hawkins Swim Team Captain sweatshirt with his last name on the back, cheering as loud as she can in the stands.

Next to her is Eddie, still dressed as metal as ever, smiling and laughing and happy to be there. Steve locks eyes with him and smiles when Eddie gives him a little wave, trying to ignore the swooping in his gut. He's bi, he's out, he knows what a crush feels like. He knows he's falling for Eddie but it would ruin him if he confessed to Eddie and got rejected, or they stop being friends or or or. So Steve keeps silent. But maybe he makes sure to stretch and flex his muscles when he knows Eddie's watching.

And Steve's team wins. And they keep winning. He goes to classes and studies with Robin, he goes to Corroded Coffin gigs to watch Eddie (because they're finding their feet in the local metal scene), they go to gay clubs together all 3 of them and walk home at 3am singing at the top of their lungs.

Steve swims laps alone in the dim light of the evening. And Eddie shows up. And they have their first kiss at the side of the pool, reflection of the water reflecting off their faces

Steve and his team make it to the big final competition. And he's nervous as hell. And him and his coach and the whole team agree that they're taking this fucking seriously. So they go for The Big Shave. Going full swimmer and shaving their bodies.

The three of them are all crammed into their tiny bathroom with a trimmer and a pack of razors. Steve shaves his face as normal, a tape playing faintly from the player in the living room. Next is Robin, who teaches Steve how to properly shave his armpits and his legs. Makes a lot of dumb jokes and helps him with the itching. He does a run through with the trimmer, then shaves his legs. Repeats the same with his arms and they help him with the tricky areas. They all agree its fucking weird. Last is the chest hair. The jungle. The one Eddie has been moaning about missing for a solid week. Eddie, who loves to run his fingers through the hair, rest his head on Steve's pecs as they rest in bed together. He gives Steve's chest hair a proper funeral and pretends to cry when Steve is all clean shaven. Robin is so used to Steve walking around the apartment shirtless that she keeps doing double takes whenever she sees him in the corner of her eye.

Competition day arrives, and the kids head up from Hawkins for a weekend in the big city. Chaperoned by Joyce and Hopper? Nancy and Jon and Argyle? idk? And sitting with Robin and Eddie. Steve's never had a crowd that big before. Never had people love and support him like that. He can see El and Will have crafted a sign. Lucas whoops. He knows Dustin's going to be making a joke about his bare chest and how he finally "tamed that jungle" and proceeds to try his hardest to cheer the loudest. And Eddie, his boyfriend, wearing a college swim team shirt underneath his leather jacket, following Steve with his eyes.

Steve and his team win, and he wants nothing more than to run to the stands and kiss Eddie senseless. He's missed him a lot, as Steve's training got more intense. Eddie would stay the night so they could snatch moments of time together but Steve would be awake and showering by 6am to eat and head to the gym. Kissing Eddie as he leaves, smiling fondly at Eddie's sleepy grumbles and mumbles, shuffling into the warmth of where Steve lay. But now he's here and swimming is over for the competitive season and Steve can relax. Take Eddie out on a date. Actually sleep in for once. Wake up with Eddie wrapped in his arms and then stay in bed until Eddie wakes up himself, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes and snuggling into Steve's now bare chest.

Eddie finds Steve, sitting on the side of the pool, goggles tossed by the edge. Steve looks up and has as good as permanent indentations around his eyes and across his nose. His chest is heaving, hair and body wet. He’s a mess, he’s also the most beautiful person eddie has ever seen and it takes all his strength not to blurt it out. Maybe not tonight, maybe not ever, not if it means he might lose Steve. Eddie doesn’t think anything is worth that.

Steve being bullied into the edge of the booth as his hawkins family take him out for dinner. in all honesty, i was very aware of the scene that you were referring to when i saw your request. i was also thinking of making a set for that scene but it got buried in all the current series i am watching. the scene itself was already beautiful and to be honest i am not good at scenes with sunset gradient. and i guess that's another reason why i didn't made this set until you requested it. and so i took it both as a challenge and an opportunity. who knows, i might end up gif-baiting other people to watch it?? lol

and yes!! i did have fun making the set. i had to combine some gradients with different blending modes and i had to manipulate the level adjustment layer a lot for each gif. i was very concerned that i might end up ruining an already beautiful scene so i tried not to deviate too much from the original colors but at the same time still incorporate my own coloring style.

i hope you don't mind me putting the comparison of the original vs my coloring. this is just to show you how much i had fun making this edit. i am also very satisfied with the result if i do say so myself. hehehe. ^^

bokuyaba is a dark horse anime series for me. it's something i watched simply because i wanted to explore different genre every season. i was thinking of dropping it after 1-2 episodes but i'm glad that i didn't. i am not an avid fan of romance, especially if the main characters are young but this series has something special to offer. it's one of my favourite romance anime now with school setting.

Scara is so cute and lovable when he isn't being a bully. <3 originally, he was going to be very mean and it would be more so punishment sex than anything, but I liked the idea of Scara softening over the fact that it's your first time as well. Even he can be sentimental at times hehe!!

And cooking for you yes!!!! Beyond the death threats, he cares in very subtle ways and one of those is making sure you're always fed. It's perfect domestic malewife energy. Scara just wants you to be content when you're here as his kitten-captive-roommate???? All of those things... orz he's a loser, but he's a loser who cares and isn't that so sweet!!!! ^v^

re: how did I even find that post: I went through ALL of the tumblr search results for Lorroakan at some point. I AM insane about him, but there's also not that much to go through.

I went through all of the Minthara tumblr searches before I started this blog, I checked all the tags. I was starving for anything. So I feel you, I'll definitely start including him more in my "several characters" works.

And yes that's what I had in mind about reader! Being in college with him. Be it college for wizards or just an unrelated degree he was pursuing at the time. But like think fantasy college? With balls, gowns and suits? I wanted to have that romanticised dark academia fantasy with him.

You meet him there and start dating after becoming friends? Maybe Lorroakan was charming yes but kinda of insufferable to be around because he is one of those smart people who thinks being a genius excuse being rude.

And you were one of the few people who didn't take shit from him, at first you were enemies type of deal but eventually an attraction matured between you too. Because oh, you realised you find him talking down to you kinda hot and he realised how you're the only person willing to tolerate him and spend time with him.

Then actual feelings beyond lust or loneliness develop, where you open to one another, start enjoying each other's company. He gets used to your nagging and you get used to his insufferable attitude. You have a perfect dynamic where only you two can understand each other.

He opens up to you about his fear of dying, how he has been doing research and reading any book he can get his hands on. He tells you how he fears losing his humanity if he becomes a lich or a vampire so those options of immortality are off the table. How he fears losing his passion for knowledge and magic, fears not remembering his love for you.

So he wants a way to keep his soul and min intetact but achieve immortality. And no not become a god, he sees it also as losing his humanity, same thing with being a God's chosen, they're nothing more than lapdogs.

Isn't it adorable just how he said that he trusts you in chapter 5?

This is like the Ovenist second time working with Nasir (if it's different in your canon then whoops) and Nasir feels like he could put his trust in you. Something deep in his gut says "this feels right. I should trust them" in a world/job where he has to be careful with his information. Where he has to hide and keep to himself. And when he saw the Ovenist something in him felt like he could trust them.

Like he fully and faithfully believes that you didn't steal the dough. (after a few mandatory questions due to the job but still). Anything you say is truth to him because he has seen what the Ovenist will do and CAN do. Definitely did not do a background check on them (because they wanted to know the basic info or what's know publicly)

Do you think that when he left in chapter 4, he still thinks of the Ovenist? Wondering when's the next time they will drop by again? And when he heard that something happened near their shop he took this chance.

Like he gave his number out for "work purposes" and he can have yours. You know. For the case. *screaming* did you think he planned this out too? Or was it just perfect timing? X)

Less than a month to go, Bandits!!!!

Today I want to draw your attention to the font options. The full game will have an open dyslexic option to make it more accessible or provide a bolder font for those who would like one.

Ross assisted in helping us make it look presentable. Initially it said “spacing who?” and was all crammed together, then it decided to be a free and independent font and burst from the confines of the dialogue box. But now it’s found a happy medium.

This game in a nutshell? Let’s hope they last, Tom!

We also added a message that pops up letting you know when you unlocked the Side Story, and that it needs to be beaten in order to unlock the final route. The lack of communication left a couple beta testers a bit confused as to why the Alma Mater was incomplete. Their confusion is your benefit! Mwahaha!

AND! I got through all of the beta tester feedback! Made the last group of glossary cards including octave and piccolo. Fixed some more typos though I’m sure some will still slip through. Gotta keep telling myself that no matter how perfect we try to make it, perfection doesn’t exist. :P

Alex still needs to finish her play-through. She has Tom and Final routes left.

I knew how I wanted that confrontation scene to go down but I still got so swept up in the emotions of it all and was trying to balance the dialogue and narration so carefully. the 'he hated-' bit especially was really hard to get just right but I'm so so proud of how it turned out

hello !! okay oh my god first of all,, i didn't mean to not have any writing stuff out. i'm just genuinely super duper busy and tired all the time. my school's like, so far away that i have to wake up at 4 am just for a 7 am assembly. then class ends at 4 sometimes 5 pm so literally i go home, do homework and sleep. no more scrolling on tumblr or having personal time fjsjjfkskdck,, alot goes on nowadays that writing (even socializing in the internet) becomes somewhat of a luxury :((

i feel fine though, it's just a reality i've yet to get used to !! my school's very nice and i like it there, distance is my only issue so it affects my time obvi aaaaa

but tbh, my inconsistency springs from (and i don't want to be mean either, i'm just being as truthful as i can so people know the realities of being a writer here) the lack of engagement in my posts.

i post writing stuff and they'd reach 100 or below notes. that, to me, isn't enough fuel for me to write with passion :(( sure i'm grateful, but i wonder sometimes what i have to do to get more people to see and acknowledge my works. i write for others, rarely or never myself so ofc i'd feel a lil down in the dumps with small interactions and notes :'>

so, now i'm kinda just... stuck. i don't really have writer's block, but i do feel like i need my works to be ABSOLUTELY perfect and polished so it gets seen. and liked. and most importantly, reblogged.

hello!! i would like to first preface that i'm a fan of your writing (ao3 user sonwar) from your kpop works (namely the seokhoon (seventeen) titled 'do you know my heart? (i can't be without you)' in 2020. and if i remembered you wrongly, and you have in fact never heard of this fic or the kpop group before please feel free to delete this ask i apologise deeply aaaaa (whoops ahahaaa im sorry if that's the case)

today. as one does, i was thinking of this fic: its definitely one of the bigger fics the seokhoon tag has seen, and also one of those fics which leave a kind of Impact. even as i ponder seokhoon today as a writer myself, i find so many of the symbols and metaphors i use in my writing to have come from that fic. (if you remember) the ideas of jihoon admiring seokmin's singing & calling him the best singer—i took that and i turned it into a kind of how jihoon's music has been made real vs seokmin's which comes more as instinct—and jihoon, who is in awe of this. and of course seokmin thinking about jihoon all the time—that's something that i genuinely hold so close to my heart. it's so sweet and just soooo seokmin. aaaaaa

your writing there has such a tender and sweet quality to it that ive been striving to achieve—emotion comes across in a way that is. muted (i mean this positively). i feel comfortable reading it because it never feels shocking everything just feels so natural. those 33k words are a source of comfort. i love and value growth in characters/the progression of time in fic, and oh man!!!! you really show the emotional growth of seokhoon so incredibly well in that fic. its so good to me. it feels so alive because of the references you made but also because of how you wrote them. to create life!!! it's so incredible because. its all just so rich and perfect and good and i'm so grateful that ive been able to read this and have it affect me on such a level. my comment on that fic does nothing to live up to what i actually thought of it and now even if i cant convey my appreciation on the fic comments itself, i tried to find another way to reach out to you (hence, this lengthy anon ask)

hi anon! you have me right, i am responsible for do you know my heart (as well as "when i'm with you i bloom" and "i'm dying to be taken apart" in case you were looking for me...) i had sort of decided i was going to keep my kpop fandom side off tumblr, since i have found it to be sort of unwelcoming towards kpop, for whatever reason? but your message was so touching i'm throwing that out the window and doing whatever i want anyway! (more under the cut <3)

Letting you know off the bat that your message made me! incredibly emotional and teary eyed! Thank you very much for your kind words, you really can't know how much it means to me, and I'm so glad you reached out to me this way as well! I genuinely got so excited when I read your ask, I'm always happy to talk fics and even more happy to talk seokhoon, as I don't have many people to discuss them with! So thank you! The reason why I orphaned my old fics is...probably a lot more simple than what you might be thinking? The truth is, after posting those three seokhoon fics (which I wrote in pretty quick succession to each other), I went about two years without writing anything at all because I didn't have the bandwidth for it, and then I wrote The Mystery of The Pears in some kind of fugue state over the course of a couple months, and when I read that back to myself I felt that my writing had grown so much, I didn't really want that writing to be associated with my writing of a few years ago. But, to be honest, I re-read my Seokhoon fics again a few weeks ago and found that I enjoyed them much more than I thought I would, and much more than I did when I first wrote them, so I wonder if it's less that my writing has grown and maybe more that I've learned to be kinder towards myself...that'll teach me to orphan fics without completely thinking it through first, I guess. (that being said! i'd like you to know i am still planning on writing more seokhoon! seventeen is very near and dear to my heart, like. i really can't put into words the love i have for those boys, which is to say that i'll probably be a carat for as long as they're seventeen, and maybe even a little longer than that. plus, i feel personally tasked with bringing more seokhoon into the world, so, you know. currently, i'm really trying to finish a seokhoon fic i promised a friend MONTHS ago, even before tmotp was finished, and then i have about...3? seokhoon wips i've started and would like to finish? whether they all get done is to be seen, but hopefully!) Anyway...I have to say, I really love the way you took my little headcanon about Jihoon admiring Seokmin's singing and devolped it further! It's something I think a lot about, too, I think it's so interesting that, objectively, Seokmin has a much wider range and capacity as a singer, but that ever since Jihoon was a trainee he's been told he "already knows how to sing" and "doesn't need singing lessons." It makes me wonder how Jihoon approaches singing, if it's something that he considers more physical, like a muscle that he can control, rather than something emotional, which I think might be closer to how Seokmin approaches singing. I mention this because, considering that Jihoon is also the one making guides for the others to follow and the one directing them in the recording booth, I'm a litte curious about how those different approaches meet together in a more practical way, if that makes sense. I do still think it's something Jihoon would admire and think about a lot if only because it would be so different from his own approach. I also have some theories about certain songs in their discography being written specifically for Seokmin's voice (Same Dream Same Mind Same Night immediately comes to mind, I really think out of all their songs, that's the one that showcases the style Seokmin's voice is suited to the most and he really shines on that song...)

I am of the belief that Seokmin would have been watching Jihoon a lot longer than Jihoon would have been watching him...something about admiration that shifts and changes the closer you get to it...And I don't think Seokmin knows how to not take care of people, it's just who he is, but I also think that feeling is heightened a little bit with Jihoon specifically, who takes on a lot of responsibility without ever complaining about it, and who describes himself as someone who deals with things on his own. I think (and I've seen him) he would try to find ways to make things easier for Jihoon without him having to ask for it first, so that's where that comes from. I think muted is one of the sweetest ways anyone has described the way I write emotions. I like the idea of emotions that come easily and gradually, like. Slow drip love rather than sudden and all-consuming (and, that way, when trying to convey something that is bigger and overwhelming, it's easier to contrast those two emotions against each other), so thank you very much for that. I also think it's very funny you mention the way I wrote the progression of Seokhoon in that fic because, while I find your words incredibly kind and I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed it, and I can still sort of see why I wrote that fic the way I did, I do sometimes consider sort of re-writing a different version of that fic because I'm so sure I could do it better now...nowadays, I think the timeline would be a little different? Idk. Something for future me to consider... Anyway! Thank you, again, for such a lovely ask, I really am so very thankful, and I'm so glad you enjoyed my Seokhoon. has too many cardigans for his own good tbh. when he's on a downer he has a very specific one that he'll wear, an indicator he's veering towards a depressive episode. that cardigan will be on him for days on end without removing it. it's just a comfort thing for him and something to keep him tethered to reality i guess

still a v soft person despite of all the shit he's been through. though this does leave him with a barrel of insecurities which he still quite obviously struggles with today. is an actual teddy bear, has a lot of love to give and just wnats to give it!!! to anyone who allows him

should probably come with a warning that says: FRAGILE. HANDLE WITH CARE.

will do anything for anyone but this also leaves people to easily take advantage of him, even if sometimes they don't mean to. he has become a bit better than that over the years but old habits die hard x
