Doritos Tangy Ketchup Review
Tumblr media
I heard about these from a friend and as a known ketchup lover, I had to go check them out. I checked a few stores near me, and luckily I was able to get my hands on a bag (also managed to get the Hot Mustard ones too, but those will get their own review). They were apparently initially released in September 2022 but this is the first I'd heard of them - I haven't paid a lot of attention to new chip releases since the 2013 Lay's Do Us A Flavor campaign ended in such a fiasco. (Those Chicken and Waffles chips were disgusting.)
Anyway, I digress. Onto the chips.
The ketchup taste is a bit subdued at first, and as with all Doritos there were some chips that were inconsistently dressed with the powdered flavoring. It took me a few chips before I could really taste the ketchup flavor, which is prominent, surprisingly rich, and complements the corn chip flavor quite well. I was a little worried that it would be an odd mix, but Frito-Lay has done a great job.
It's a typical Dorito, so nothing to be said about the chip part. Ketchup chip enjoyers may liken these to Herr's Ketchup Potato Chips, or to the long-gone Ketchup flavored Lay's (gone from the United States, but forever in our hearts). However, these have a bit of a bold and rich take on ketchup. It's not Heinz or Hunt's or Red Gold, it's your weird cousin's artisan homemade ketchup cooked slow and with extra spices. The garlic and onion flavors are at the forefront along with the tomato flavor, and after eating a few chips a surprise heat starts to sizzle. It's not THAT spicy (I'm a white guy) but it's noticeable. Toward the end of the bite the sweet flavor really hits, and then on the way down the spice lingers along with the classic corn chip flavor.
I can't stop eating them. These are absolutely fucking incredible and I'm considering buying a bulk order if I can. 10/10.

Taste Test: Bubly and Chinese Lay's
Tumblr media
For a bit of a change of pace, I figured I'd write about some snacks I recently tried.
Apparently these are the two most popular Lay's flavors in China, so they've been made permanently available here.
As we all know GG is a snack lover, and he especially loves Lay's chips. He used to endorse them a while back and there have been occasional rumors that he'll be endorsing them again (they never materialize into anything).
I've seen photos of GG eating cucumber Lay's in the past, but unfortunately I couldn't find any for this post.
Here's one of his old ads.
The man can make even chocolate covered potato chips look appetizing.
I am actually glad that he doesn't endorse Lay's anymore, because I have a weakness for Lay's potato chips and I don't need any extra excuses to indulge!
Western Paranoia
Tumblr media
They really want the consumer to know: while these are Chinese flavors, they are made in Canada! Don't worry, honorable Canadian, these were made in a trusted Canadian factory with trusted Canadian ingredients, not in some shady Chinese factory where who-knows-what is being thrown into the mix! 😅
Cucumber Lay's
Tumblr media
These chips were a real shocker. I don't know what I was expecting, but these look like sour cream and onion chips, and they taste... like cucumbers. Not like pickles or marinated cucumbers or something, but like cucumbers plucked fresh out of the garden.
They also smell very strongly of fresh cucumbers, the moment the bag is opened. I found it off-putting.
...
I respect that these chips exist, but I wouldn't choose to eat them. 😅
My partner, on the other hand, has already devoured half the bag. I'm at least glad they won't be going to waste!
Verdict: 1/5 🏞️🏗️🏗️🏗️🏗️
Chicken and Tomato Lay's
Tumblr media
Chicken and tomato... I was trying to think of any occasion in my cooking where I would put these two ingredients together, and I really couldn't. Maybe in a chicken taco or something? Or Chicken Parmesan (which I'd probably never make)? It seems such an odd flavor combination to me for some reason.
These taste exactly like tomato and chicken, and it's surprisingly good. The chicken flavor is savoury and the tomato flavor is a bit sweeter, so those who are into the whole 'sweet and salty' thing might really enjoy these.
My only complaint is that they are a bit too sweet for my taste (sweet in the way store-bought ketchup is sweet, as opposed to sweet like candy). I am much more into savoury flavors than sweets, and this was just a bit over the edge of sweetness to where I don't think I could eat many of these.
Verdict: 2/5 🐞🐞🪳🪳🪳
Blackberry Bubly
Tumblr media
Wow, I was NOT expecting how amazing this would be. It is fresh and fruity with absolutely no sweetness. It smells as good as it tastes, too, and fills the air with the refreshing smell of berries.
I have always scoffed at the idea of paying for what is just flavored club soda. It seems perverse and excessive in some strange way. But when I tried this I immediately knew that I was going to be buying more Bubly, without a doubt.
And then I reflected on it some more and realized, pretty much everything we drink, whether tea, coffee, ginger ale or whiskey is all just flavored water in the end.
The fact that this is really simply flavored is a feature, not a bug.
I love that there is a delicious, refreshing fizzy drink option that has no sugar and absolutely no sweetness (nor any chemicals or food colorings). Bright and clean and flavorful. This will be perfect in the summer.
The funny thing is, I don't even like blackberry. At least, that's what I thought before I tried this. Blackberry wouldn't have been my first choice by any stretch of the imagination. But the only single cans available were blackberry and lime and I felt lime was too generic a flavor to really get the 'Bubly experience'. After all, club soda with lime is something I'd probably normally drink in the summer.
But the blackberry is absolutely delicious. So fruity and refreshing.
I can now confidently buy the grapefruit Bubly I've been eyeing every time I'm at the grocery store. I'm sure I'll drink every can. Maybe I'll post about it once I've given it a try...
Verdict: 4/5 🛼🛼🛼🛼⛸️
Anyway, hope this was interesting. If I come across anything else that I think is relevant, especially if it's something GG and DD endorse, I'll try to do something like this again.

5月25–27日 | Traveling to Tokyo
It has been almost four years since my last trip to Japan! Needless to say, it felt pretty surreal flying back. Travel days are always my most dreaded days when it comes to trips, especially with the combined flight time being over 17 hours!! We left Orlando around 7 AM and arrived in Tokyo around 2 AM EST.
•••
Canada Experience 🇨🇦🍁
Tumblr media
On our way to Tokyo, we had a connecting flight from Toronto, my first time in Canada (even though it was just the airport). It definitely solidified my curiosity about visiting the country in the future. There is so much to explore in Canada (it’s a big country!!). Perhaps I’ll have to make a travel blog/vlog for Canada in the future 👀
On the topic of Canada—While we were in the Toronto airport, I had a couple of culture shocks. Firstly, one of my classmates found and bought ketchup-flavored Lays Potato Chips!! I did not even know a flavor like that existed. Of course, you would think that the way we Americans consume ketchup, we would have that as a flavor, but I guess not. You can watch my travel vlog to see our reactions to the chips! We also tried Tim Horton’s, which, to my uncultured American knowledge, is Canada’s version of Dunkin’ Donuts.
Narita Airport ✈️🧳
We landed in Tokyo around 3 PM JST (about 2 AM EST) and proceeded to navigate through customs and to the airport hotel. I was able to utilize my Japanese in the process of getting through to the Tobu Hotel. It shocked me how willing other Japanese people were to converse in Japanese. I have previously heard from other foreigners that, regardless of one’s Japanese abilities, Japanese people would often speak to the person in English.
Tobu Hotel 🏨✈️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We stayed at Narita Tobu Airport Hotel the night before our program began.
After settling into the airport hotel, there was suddenly lots of shaking. It was then we quickly realized that an earthquake was occurring. It was pretty surreal to experience my first earthquake the first day I was in Japan.
The airport hotel was very foreigner friendly (particularly for English speakers), with English-speaking staff, ATM converters, free shuttles to and from the airport, and western-style meals at their breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet. Unfortunately, since we only stayed the night, we couldn’t fully utilize their amenities, but I definitely will return the next time I fly into Japan.
Arrival to Ryokan 🏨🎍
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We met up with our group in the morning at Narita Airport and headed over to the Ryokan we will be staying in Tokyo. A ryokan is a traditional Japanese inn. The one we will be staying at specifically is for tourists. It was a personal culture shock to go from a Western-styled hotel such as the Narita Airport Tobu Hotel to the Ryokan we are in now. The sleeping accommodations are traditional futons on tatami mats, and the firmness of it took a moment to adjust to personally. The Ryokan also has an onsen that I have yet to try, but once I do, I surely will write about it.
•••
With that, I was officially settled in Tokyo, starting my month-long adventure in Japan as well as my student blogging journey.

Note
I hear they also have ketchup flavored lay’s potato chips in Canada. Have you seen that at your local grocery store? (Speaking as someone who’s never been out of the states.)
Lays? No. But ketchup flavoured potato chips are quite common.

RDR2 Boys Cooking + Eating Habits
Arthur
Somebody else on here wrote some headcanons about Arthur not being able to cook and just eating microwave food all the time and I just have to say…. That’s canon
Lowkey though he’s trying his best to get better at cooking
Probably the only thing he knows how to make is pasta
He adds a bunch of random frozen veggies to water as the noodles are cooking
And then smothers the whole thing in butter and calls it a meal
Or he puts marinara sauce on it straight from the jar
And yes, that means it’s cold
He’s also getting better at friend rice, too
But he’s really bad at actually making rice
If he doesn’t add too much water… He burns the bottom
Charles makes a mental note to buy him a rice cooker for his birthday
Makes his own popsicles out of random fruit juices and eats them 24/7
Thinks this qualifies him as a chef
Eats pickles and olives straight out of the jar with a fork
And sauerkraut too probably
Just goes over to john’s house on his pizza nights
Puts ketchup on eggs
John
Pizza dad
Probably orders pizza, salad, and a 64oz soda twice a week
Everything else is just Dino chicken nuggets, Eggos, hot dogs, quesadillas, and frozen peas and corn
Food you feed to little kids, basically
Mostly because he does have a little kid
But also because it’s easy and takes minimal effort and he doesn’t mind eating it, too
Abigail would be mad but she has no room to talk
The most you’ll see him actually make is buttered pasta (like Arthur) or sometimes beans and rice
Abigail bought them a rice cooker a while ago so that’s one thing he doesn’t have to worry about
Probably always has some type of dessert laying around
Doesn’t mean it’s good, but it’s there
Abigail buys a bunch of those gross, low calorie ice creams and John ends up having to finishing them
Family lunches consist of a bologna sandwich on wheat bread with American cheese and mayo, a piece of fruit, a bag of chips or crackers, a go-gurt, and some gummies
And yes he makes them for himself and Abigail too
They’re all eating good at the Marston household
(Not really)
Charles
Everything he cooks are things that can’t be made in single batches
Lots of healthy soups, chilis, stew, etc…
Most of the time, he makes too much of whatever it is so he always has leftovers
Everyone is jealous when he brings them for lunch
Probably finds all of his recipes in the newspaper or random magazines he reads while at the grocery store checkout line
Everyone is like, “Charles… Why are you reading Women’s Fitness?”
And he’s like, “Check out this salad recipe, though”
Puts hot sauce on everything
Salad, macaroni and cheese, hamburgers... You name it
And he’s the king of snacking
All of his snacks are healthy, though
Raw veggies and fruit and quinoa chips from Whole Foods or something like that
Nobody likes this
He’s one of those people who brings hard boiled eggs everywhere as a “snack,” too
And yea, he puts hot sauce on those, also
He really likes those weird protein bars that are hard to bite into and taste like chalk
The flavors are either normal stuff like white chocolate macadamia or Protein Power Punch with whey, chia and seaweed
There’s no in between
He’s also a charcuterie board legend
Hosea is jealous of this talent
Micah
Spends all his money on take out
He’s totally one of those weird people who’s entire trash can is just filled with take out boxes and cans of coke or beer
Constantly eating fast food
You ask him what he bought at the supermarket and he’s like “Pub mix and bud light”
SIR
Everything that he does manage to cook only involve one step of preparation
Unseasoned, fried meats and boiled veggies
Sometimes scrambled eggs and bacon
If he’s feeling fancy, he will make plain sandwiches
This is very rare, though
Can and will complain about anyone’s cooking
Even if it’s good and he he likes it
There are certain people he can’t do this to, though, or they won’t let him eat
The only person’s cooking he doesn’t complain about is Dutch’s
Constantly snacking from an entire party sized bag of chips
And yes, he eats straight out of the bag and wipes his fingers on his jeans
His oven is dirty
Hosea
A meal for him is probably a handful of almonds and an applesauce or yogurt cup
He is constantly making a bunch of those Tik Tok recipes where you just put a bunch of random stuff into your crock pot and add ranch seasoning and cream cheese
*insert all of those memes about mom pulling out the crock pot*
If you complain, he says “Well, you’re always welcome to cook, too”
Wears an apron when he cooks
Constantly eating plain toast with butter
And bananas
And cheese sticks
Thinks that this makes him “healthy”
Definitely likes to snack on those cocktail fruit cups and canned mandarin oranges
His entire freezer is just full of ice cream
It’s all weird flavors like Cherry Garcia, chocolate banana, and pistachio though
Everyone hates him for this
Raisins are his late night treat
Has a secret stash of candy no one can find
That’s okay though because it’s mostly Werthers Originals
And Chiclets gum
He picks out all the orange ones, though
Dutch
Tries to re-plate takeout so he can call it his own
Everybody sees through this but they stopped commenting on it like four Thanksgivings ago
Buys a bunch of those meals from Costco that all you need to do is heat up in the oven
He does like fast food but only from the less popular places
Carl’s Jr., Wendy’s, BK, Arby’s, etc.
A&W, too, because he’s old and weird
He can totally cook, he just never does
It’s just normal stuff like spaghetti and meatballs or chicken and rice, though
Tuna fish casserole
He over-seasons everything, though
Mostly because he’s trying to prove that he’s a good cook
Eats dessert twice, every night
Once right after dinner, and then later when he’s feeling like a treat
Will eat in bed
Uses a little bib and tray and everything
Likes pumpkin and sunflower seeds
Would eat hot wings with gloves on
He’s the one who taught Arthur to put ketchup on eggs
Kieran
The second I realized that Kieran would probably be white trash, my life changed
Hamburger Helper meals for LIFE
That one cheeseburger pasta? Kieran probably eats that three times a week
He 100% makes the ketchup-butter sketti from Honey Boo Boo
“It’s been a while since I done had roadkill in my belly”
His favorite dessert is ambrosia salad or that weird yogurt/Cool Whip covered jello that was popular in the 2000s
Probably has a TV dinner every once in a while, too
Instant mashed potatoes and minute rice type of guy
Also gives me big microwave cheddar broccoli vibes
I’ve said this before, but his house is probably stocked with all kinds of on-brand goodies
Probably always has some kind of chip and cookie around
Eats dinner in front of the TV
Dips french fries in mayonnaise
All of this said though, he isn’t a picky eater and will eat whatever is put on his plate
That’s why he’s great to take to restaurants, because he never complains
Honestly it’s just so sweet to think of him making big crockpot meals to share with ppl even if his cooking is a lil.... strange
Javier
Thinks that the hot dog combo from Costco is a suitable dinner
Also gets hot food from the grocery store for dinner a lot
Literally will just heat up a can of something and eat it plain
Beans, chili, soup…
Doesn’t doctor it up or change it at all
He’s happy to share but no one wants any
Chips and dip, 24/7
And it’s just Tostitos Hint of Lime chips and hummus
Probably puts hummus on everything, too
Corn chips, tortilla chips, tortillas, vegetables, sandwiches, etc.
Will put anything in a tortilla and call it a sandwich
Eats leftovers cold
The rest of the gang thinks this is a sin
Makes stir fry with whatever is laying around the house
It’s a little gross because he will try to add leftover beans
Refuses to eat fast food
The only exception he’ll make is for french fries and ice cream
Walks around and eats at the same time
Isn’t above asking the other boys to share with him
Despite the fact that this only happens if what they’re eating is good
Which is almost never
Sean
Sean can’t cook. That’s the end of it
The most he can make is that weird microwave Mac and cheese where the pasta is boiled in the mug??
He never does it tho and just sticks with the normal, frozen Mac and Cheese you can microwave instead
Uses his microwaving ability to make mug cakes
And microwave scrambled eggs
Burns his popcorn every single time
He’s probably set of the smoke detector or fire alarm multiple times
He’s Irish though so of course he’s addicted to potatoes and cabbage
And since he’s from the UK, he likes stuff like beans on toast and marmite
He’s a little nasty too so catch him eating bologna sandwiches on wonder bread
Not even the Marstons are that bad
When he does get takeout, he overspends trying to use a delivery app
He’s like, “And do I need the extra side of special sauce for $5…? Yes.”
Cooks like this

@joonkitty @mosaic-marquise
alright it’s Chip Time
(this got surprisingly weird and long, so it’s under a cut to spare everyone)
Lucifer - fussy bitch only eats homemade artisanal chips. y’know. those sharp bastards that cut your mouth up and don’t super even count as chips? those ones. Also he’s not a fan of snacking. He.. wears gloves, for one. But it’s also because if he starts it becomes a compulsion while he’s working and, listen, he doesn’t have that much time to devote to the gym alright.
Tumblr media
Mammon - Doritos are little gold things so it’s his go to chip. Cool Ranch Specifically because he is also Cool. I love you Mammon, please never change. Besides Beel he’s the only valid one amongst the sinblings.
Tumblr media
Leviathan - HE WOULD HAVE PICKED DORITOS IF SOMEBODY HADN’T CLAIMED THEM FIRST... IT’s NOT FAIR. EVERYONE KNOWS DORITOS ARE GAMER CHIPS.... But since he can’t pick Doritos he’ll go with Calbee Baked Shrimp Chips. Fuck you that they’re not really ‘chips’. It has Chips in the name and that’s good enough, why does everyone always judge him??
Tumblr media
Satan - Salt and Vinegar Kettle chips are the only things in any of the three realms as bitter and full of violence as he is, so naturally those are his chips of choice. The blood flavor is an additional bonus for him.
Tumblr media
Asmodeus - Can you even imagine Asmodeus, Cardinal Sin of Lust, eating a potato chip?? I can’t. I literally goddamn cannot force my brain into doing that thing. That was until I remembered Lay’s Poppables Exist. And Now that’s what he chooses as his ‘favorite chip’. Disgraceful.
Tumblr media
Beelzebub - A True Demon of Taste, Beel’s favorite chips are the All Dressed Chips from Humpty Dumpty. These chips are the fucking best shit in the entire world. NO I am not biased. A close runner up are ketchup flavored chips, which he’ll eat with the dill pickle chips. truly Beel is the only person I respect on this list. (and mammon, i also love and respect mammon.)
Tumblr media
Belphegor - An Evil Creature with horrible orange little hands, he insists that cheetos are his favorite chips. “But Belphie,” The Masses Cry, “Cheetos Aren’t Chips, They Aren’t Even Made Out of Potatoes! They don’t even have Chip in their names!” And Lo, Belphegor Did Look Upon Them With A Shit Eating but Adorable Smile and Say “Die mad about it.”

French Canadian Cooking 101
So I was discussing French-Canadian food and I came up with the idea of making a little guide for Writeblr and @caz-writes. So for anyone writing or roleplaying in Quebec here’s what the locals often eat!
Side note on other cuisines: Quebec is a very diverse province and Quebecers eat a variety of dishes of foreign origin. Couscous is always popular, so is spaghetti, Chinese-Canadian cuisine resembles American-Chinese food a lot, with a big emphasis on starch.
I’ll put the rest under a cut because this will probably a long-ass post.
Poutine
Tumblr media
Everyone knows this one, the queen of fast food. (Poutine is feminine in french) at its base, poutine is fries (preferably “brown and greasy” rather than light and crispy) with gravy and cheese curds.
However, poutine doesn’t stop there, any poutine restaurant worth its salt will offer dozens of topping options. such as various meats, sauces (including spaghetti sauce) The Diallo restaurant chain for a time advertised hundreds of possible combinations.
Paté Chinois
Tumblr media
Despite the name, it’s not a paté in the traditional sense. Also, despite its name translates to ‘Chinese paté’ is has nothing to do with Chinese cuisine. What it is, is a layer of mashed potatoes over a layer of creamed corn itself over ground meat, typically with onions.
It’s a simple hearty dish that’s often eaten with plenty of ketchup and I spent most of my life despising. (My mother’s was inedible...)
Hachis
Tumblr media
Probably the simplest and laziest dish on the list, Hachis is chopped potatoes and ground beef cooked together, typically with onions and Worchester sauce as seasoning and sometimes with whatever vegetable you have laying around as leftover. Some liquid is generally desirable.
Ragout de pattes et boulette (Leg and meatball stew)
Tumblr media
This simple stew is a mix of pork hocks and meatballs along with potatoes, cinnamon and cloves are often used as a seasoning. The base typically includes finely chopped onions and garlic.
Tourtière
Tumblr media
Depending on where you are, tourtière can have very different meanings. In Montreal, it’s typically a simple ground-meat pie, but in some region like my mother’s native Lac-St-Jean, it means cubes of meat with potatoes. Cinnamon, Clove, and nutmeg are often the spice of choice to give a kick to this dish.
Either way, this is the iconic Christmas dish in Quebec.
Cretons
Tumblr media
Cretons is a simple paté of finely ground pork, fat, onions, and spices. It’s typically served on toast, often with mustard. It’s a breakfast item and many restaurants will include it as an option with full breakfasts or on its own with toast.
Soupe aux Pois
Tumblr media
This very hearty wintery soup is made of split yellow pea and salt pork, along with carrot, onions, and celery. For those who can’t be bothered to make it, it’s easy to find in large cans.
Montreal-Style Smoked Meat
Tumblr media
This dish was created by the Jewish population of Montreal and is a Deli favorite (with Schwartz as the uncontested king of smoked meat.) Smoked-meat consist of slow-smoked marinated beef brisket. It’s served with mustard on rye bread.
It’s not really something people make at home, although pre-prepared packages of smoked meat are easy to come by in grocery stores. Typically served with pickles and marinated peppers.
Montreal-style bagel
Tumblr media
Montreal-style bagels are thinner, denser, and sweeter than their New York counterpart and are always cooked in wood-fired ovens. The two predominant varieties are poppy seed and white sesame seed.
Orielle de Crisse (Pork Rinds)
Tumblr media
A traditional food, pork rinds are known as Orielle de Crisse (Lard ears). Not much else to say there.
Full Breakfast
Tumblr media
Many restaurants in Quebec serves full breakfast, which here typically means; your choice of two eggs, toast, baked beans, sausage, ham, bacon, fried potatoes, baked beans, and fresh fruits. This also typically come with a choice of jam, peanut butter or cretons for the toast.
Fêves au Lard (Baked Beans)
Tumblr media
Baked beans are a traditional breakfast item and come in several varieties; old fashioned, in tomato sauce, with maple, or molasses. Most people buy theirs out of a can, ready to eat.
Cabane a Sucre (Sugar Shack)
Tumblr media
Okay, so it’s not a dish, but an important and (admittedly odd) element of Quebec food culture. La Cabane a Sucre is a restaurant located among maple forests where people come to get maple candies and eat.
Cabane a sucre typically have a flat price for all you can eat breakfast items such as egg, pancakes, hash browns, toasts and etc. Obviously maple syrup is plentiful.
It’s common for schools and community centers to organize trips there. Because they are remote they tend to have other attractions to keep quests such as discotheques, winter games, sketch artists and the like.
This is also where you can get the following treat;
Tire a la Neige (Maple Taffy)
Tumblr media
Okay, so this is probably the most aggressively Canadian thing ever. Maple taffy is made by taking hot maple syrup and pouting it in thin strips on clean snow and letting it crystalize. That’s it!
Pet de Soeur (Nun’s fart...)
Tumblr media
Okay, so ignoring the bizarre name, Pet de Soeur or politely known in English as nun's pastries are rolls of pastry dough with cinnamon or molasses in between the various layers, which is sliced into disks and then baked.
Queue de Castor (Beavertails)
Tumblr media
No this has nothing to do with actual beavertails, no rodents were harmed in the making of this iconic carnival dish. Beavertails are at their core a sweet fried dough.
Where they shine is the many, many different toppings you can add to them; from spreads, spices, fresh fruits, it’s hard not to find one that’ll do you good.
Bûche de Noël
Tumblr media
This cake is a staple at Christmas celebration and is easily bought in stores around that time of the year.
Tarte au Sucre
Tumblr media
This traditional Quebec pie is about the simplest you can get; a firm mixture of flour, butter, salt, vanilla, cream, and brown sugar or maple syrup.
Sucre a la Crème
Tumblr media
Can’t be bothered to make a pie? You can basically make this little confectionary. It’s sugar, cream, maple syrup, and vanilla mixture that’s boiled and then set to cool in square molds.
Pouding Chômeur (Poor Man’s Pudding)
Tumblr media
Not the custardy type pudding, is a little airy sweet bread typically served covered in caramel sauce.
Ketchup Chip
Tumblr media
It’s a stereotype at this point that Canadians love ketchup and... we put them on chips so we can’t exactly argue against it... This one is a bit more Canadian than Quebecer but still very popular alongside the ‘normal’ flavors.
Another popular unusual flavor is dill pickle chips, generally Lay’s.
Clamato and Ceasar
Tumblr media
I don’t think anyone but Canadians would think to mix spices, clam juice and tomato juice, bottle it and sell it, but here we are. Clamato is a local drink and quite iconic.
the Ceasar is a cocktail of clamato and vodka, typically with a rind of celery salt, a few dashes of Worcester sauce, tabasco and garnished with a celery stalk and lemon wedge.
That’s about it, folks! I’ve probably left a few things out and might make some latter addendum but for now this is my little 101 into French-Canadian food.

Ham flavored chips are delicious, yeah, but the ones of tumaca or garlic are the best, especially if you leave them open for a couple of days
I really want to try those garlic ones. I love garlic.
I’m going to buy chips now… though we don’t have those flavours here. We have flavours like Ketchup (which might be my favourite), Dill Pickle, Poutine (because of course we have to have that, it’s meh tbh).
Though the weirdest flavour I have ever seen is
Tumblr media
Ummmmm. Potato flavoured chips… okay?
Lays celebrated Canada’s 150th with a flavour for each region. And this one was a finalist for the Maritimes.

What is something each of the guys has eaten, they liked, but they will never admit they liked? SSiYC
Sans: Soap. He said a bad word once and Papyrus washed his mouth out…turns out he thought it wasn’t half bad, but then again, he eats ketchup straight from the bottle so what kinda judge is he.
Papyrus: Dog treats. The non-smoking kind. He wanted to try what Undyne was always feeding the dogs so he ate one, and it tasted like bacon. However, he had to pretend it was a dare because Undyne definitely caught him.
Red: Ketchup chips. There’s these lays potato chips that are ketchup flavored and he’ll never admit that he’d eat them like the world was ending.
Boss: Mustard. He always pretends to hate it because he thinks it’s unhealthy to chug it…but he does like it when he dips pretzels in it.
Blue: Honey-Nut Cheerios. If he bought them, Stretch would eat them all and then Blue would be sad.
Stretch: Kale. He’d heard it was bitter, but have you tried it in a smoothie?
Black: Barbecue chicken. He lost a bet and had to try it, and after years of getting mad at Mutt for his BBQ habit he couldn’t just admit he likes it.
Mutt: Peanut butter cups. If he admitted he liked them, then Black might feel guilty about eating them all, when Mutt only pretends not to like them so Black can eat them all.
