☀️ Apollo ☀️

His wrathful/true form takes on an appearance similar to Leto

Info ☀️

- Since Leto is their mother, Hera is particularly resentful of Artemis and Apollo. Hera is not happy about any of Zeus's affairs obviously but this one was particularly angering because it was with an immortal (and titaness) instead of a mortal.

- Apollo knows about how Hera tormented his mother during her pregnancy and is resentful of Hera in return.

- He's very busy, since he is the god of many, many things (prophecy, music, poetry, archery, healing, protection of the young. There's more than this btw)

- He is very much loved by mortals and he enjoys it. He often visits the many temples built for him, giving gifts and prophecies to his worshippers

☀️ Artemis and Apollo

- Like I said on Artemis's post, Apollo and Artemis are twins but they aren't similar in appearance (plus that's not how opposite-gender twins work anyways lol) There's very contrasting appearance between them along with pretty opposite personalities.

- They have a great relationship between each other and are both pretty competitive, especially when it comes to archery

- They're always trying to do things for Leto, who is ostracized for being the last titan not locked up in Tartarus or forced into servitude, along with being hated by Hera.

I probably might as well do a Leto post sometime since I've done Artemis and Apollo lol

Can we talk about how much Artemis is a coward and sucks in her role???

Let’s go over her story so far.

1. She got bad vibes from Apollo at the coronation and gained the epithet “protector of women”.

2. She finally learns Persephone was assaulted by Apollo and that her brother is a predator.

3. She learned Daphne was almost killed by Apollo after trying to expose this information.

4. When she’s finally able to confront him, Apollo just goes dead silent and refuses to talk at all.

Now cut back to this episode. Despite knowing Apollo better than anyone AND being one of the only female olympians at the meeting, Artemis chooses not to go at all. Artemis is supposed to be a warrior! A badass protector of women and girls. She’s also the princess of Olympus!!! She’s literally on equal footing as Apollo for claim to the throne. By not going to that meeting she gave her voice and power away. She chose the easy and comfortable way out instead of confronting her abusive brother. And to add insult to injury, instead of sending another woman to fill her position she sent Hermes. The comic relief alternative love interest for the victim of her brother. Artemis does nothing to earn her title and it doesn’t seem like she wants to even help her friend Persephone at all.

Here’s some more art and panel redesigns 🤭 life is pretty hectic rn so I don’t have a whole lot of time to work on very heavy text posts but I do still try to do art stuff where I can

Some notes:

Here’s a fun drinking game: take a shot every time Rachel forgets to draw Hades and Persephone’s wedding rings

Here’s another fun drinking game: take a shot every time one of the characters looks emotionally constipated in what is supposed to be an emotionally charged scene

Please don’t actually, I don’t want to be responsible for anyone here getting alcohol poisoning

Also I redesigned Artemis!

I designed her to look much younger than any of my current designs and future designs because I feel like very often in the myths she is depicted as a young girl or a young “maiden”

I did stick to the antler cliché bc duh. However, similarly to how male deer, moose, elk, etc. can shed their antlers, so too can Artemis! And as a fun bonus they never grow back the same 😀

Also as a personal head cannon (bc I wanted to incorporate the moon somehow) I had her eye be gouged out in a shooting accident with Apollo. Zeus then took a bit of the moon and fashioned Artemis a new eye and it follows the lunar cycle!

Guys I'm having a crisis I can't remember if I ever posted about Artemis not being a lesbian but instead being aroace. Did I post it???? Did I dream it??????

Whatever it is, forget it anyways because I might've been wrong!

*gasp!* Shocker!

Artemis, aroace or lesbian?

Ahh, Artemis. Goddess of wildlife, hunting, protecting women, and virginity!

And not only Artemis, but Athena and Hestia too. Together, they were the only sacred virgin godesses in Olympus that even Zeus didn't dare to bone. Now, I want to state that Greek mythology is very inconsistent, and sources vary for literally everything. Not to mention, labels are overrated and if we absolutely have to, it's safe to say most gods are queer at best.

Artemis is often depicted hunting with a group of nymphs that she trained and regularly hung out with. Said women were also required to never marry and always be virgins, but that last part is kinda iffy. You see, virginity in ancient Greece isn't what we consider virginity today. The ancient Greek word for virgin, parthenos, roughly translated to maiden/unmarried woman. A "virgin woman" most likely meant just an unmarried woman who didn't have heterosexual penetrative sex.

In several myths, it is stated that Zeus, in order to seduce Callisto, a worshipper/hunter friend of Artemis, turned into Artemis to fool her, and took her to bed, which implies that Artemis may or may not have been more than friends with Callisto, or at least Callisto had the hots for Artemis.

In conclusion, Artemis was either technically a virgin goddess or literally a virgin goddess.

Does it matter either way? Nope! Do with this info as you will.

with Lore Olympus ending imma say that the 10 year skip was disappointing I know I wasn't the only one who was interested in seeing how Persephone handle taking over her mom's role? How she learned more about her powers? Did she find out any new information about Hades and how his relationship with Minthie was from Minthie point of view which has Persephone kind of rethinking her whole entire relationship with a guy she's only known for weeks or months???? Or did she learn anything new about what a fertility goddess was and why was so important that people are so interested in her

Also there was literally no point of bringing Eris into the story and being the one who blessed Persephone with wrath when Artemis and Apollo had wrath too, so it means Persephone didn't have to be blessed she just had a normal reaction and made her lose control Eris did not need to be shown she didn't have to be mentioned well she could have been shown but she didn't have to have anything to do with what Persephone did at all she could have just came to trial because she was interested to see all the chaos that was happening that's it

And😬 Artemis wow just wow, protector of women... I don't know what was the point of giving her that title yet when she has not done anything to protect women like at all and why didn't we get to see her having a conversation with Persephone on what happened why were we just giving hints why didn't we see her talking to Apollo but we didn't see them talk at all which is weirs you found out that your twin assaulted your friend in your house and we're not even going to get nothing from that also her relationship with Leto who again we don't even see in the story

And then Persephone going to the underworld and fighting Kronos which wasn't even a fight you've seen enough fighting scenes to know that that was not a fight she did not fist fight that creep which also heart easily defeated him possibly because he still was regaining some of his power I mean he was trapped in the Underworld/ Tartarus and is a time God got beat by a goddess who still doesn't know much for her powers is weird I know some people going to hate me for saying this but the 10 year Gap was something I was looking forward to see because I want to see how Hades and Persephone handle being separated to see what the Demeter was up too but was surprisingly not surprised that it was a let down I feel bad for saying it but I know we were kind of expecting more from 10-year skip

Artemis Redesign

I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out.

Colour scheme based off of OSP's design.

Two toned hair with the white hair being underneath the blue ombre hair on top.

Ear piercings. She has two on the other side.

Silver deer antlers.

Her mask has tiny gemstones that have the phases of the moon.

Silver-gray eyes with a Cresent shaped eyeshine.

my favourite thing about this panel in episode 63

is that rachel did not move athena for twenty three panels

^ this is at the beginning of episode 63. rachel literally kept athena and the background the exact same, blurred it slightly, and put hestia and artemis in the forefront. you can tell she's still got the vacant smile even blurred out. rachel's been doing the png thing for a while

#anti lo #anti lore olympus #am i rereading old chapters to prepare myself for the next release perhaps #like it's such a small thing but it's very telling imho #u can tell that athena IS drawn INTO the scene - her body more or less adapts to the surroundings #so rachel likely drew that panel with athena and artemis with the background in mind and present #but then she zooms out and uses athena as the backdrop #as a sin it's not particularly egregious and if it was like this one thing i'd ignore it #but knowing rachel starts just throwing pngs onto flats pretty early in the series ... it's not a good look #anyways!
