Okay, so I know that the eggs being a distraction has been a theory and it makes a good amount of sense as a way to keep people from thinking about leaving the island

HOWEVER

The only flaw in this is that the eggs can be killed, having only two lives each. If the Island is perfect and the eggs are meant to keep them there WHY is it that they can be killed permanently. Wouldn’t you want them to be able to live forever so the parents never feel the pain of loss? Even if the idea is that grief will drive them to find answers, that’s not how everybody will react. What if somebody wanted to leave because of the egg death?

Whatever game the Island is playing, the possibility of the eggs dying is not an oversight or flaw in the system, it was meant to be this way. Which adds more credence to the Threatening Video being from somebody else, as suddenly wiping out all the eggs would throw a massive wrench into the plan.

Ah fuck. Fucknuggets and fiddlesticks, Roxanne's inner monolog went as she stared down at the dirty little orange ball of fluff that impeded her way home.

It was a kitten. A small one. Tiny, helpless, sopping wet, and cold. Roxanne felt a pang of pain surge through her chest at the thought.

Gently, carefully, and quickly, she scooped it up with one hand, immediately placing it up against her chest as she huddled around it to keep the snow and cold at bay.

It's eyes were barely open, two little dark grey dots barely catching some of the luckily full moon's light. She might have not seen the poor little thing if not for it.

She had half unzipped her very oversized jacket when it started squaling, a high pitched but quiet, squeaking mewl. It was crying for help. For its mother. For someone or something...

"Ssshhh, sshh." Roxanne whispered into the frigid air as puffs of steam rolled off her lips. Carefully, she pulled her free arm inside from her sleeve and tucked the kitten up under her roomy, warm coat. "It's ok. I'm here now. You are safe..."
