God alone is Almighty, not the devil.
We are told in Psalm 24:1: “The earth is the LORD’S, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it.” We belong to the Lord.
Scripture also tells us the devil is the “ruler of this world” (John 12:31) and that he is the “god of this world” (2 Corinthians 4:4). The devil has no power over the children of God, but only over the “children of wrath” (Ephesians 2:3) — the ones who are not born-again Christians. He is the ruler and the god of those who opposes Christ and His kingdom.
The devil will not rule over hell. As a matter of fact, he’ll be “thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever” (Revelation 20:10). Such a destiny isn’t only fated for the devil, but all who follow him. All who are not in Christ are His enemies. You are either with Christ or you are against Him. Remember Christ’s own words: “He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters” (Matthew 12:30).
There is only One whom you should fear: God. As Ecclesiastes 12:13 tells us: “The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.” Worth noting this is a fear to be encouraged, for it is a reverential awe of God.
Another important point to make is that Satan not only knows Scripture inside and out but he also knows God. Beware of being a great theologian like the devil — knowing God without having a heart for Him.
Ultimately, the devil, along with all who oppose God, will kneel before the King of kings (Philippians 2:10-11).

Scripture Study: the devil
Mind you not the last piece of notes with random penned words, haha, one was just writing to write. Honestly, one quite likes the way cursive feels to write. Especially if one is getting into an ’academia’ mood, haha.

Women Do Not Have Authority Over Men
1 Timothy 2:9-15
[9]In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
[10]But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
[11]Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
[12]But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
[13]For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
[14]And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
[15]Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
Because of the sins of Eve being the first to eat the forbidden fruit, women are to be silent, shamefaced, and in submission of men, who God created first.
God wants us to be beautiful in other ways, ladies, so don't try to be as men and take authority where it was not given to you. Yes, we live in times where men don't do their part, but that doesn't exempt women from doing their's. Men have their own instructions, let women heed God's instructions for them as well.

The need for progress. I need to progress not because the world is but because staying still is hurting me, it hurts my spiritual life.
"Don't stay still for long!" I tell myself. Stop, breathe give it all to Jesus. I can do anything with Him. He is the one who can take my worries, my problems and make solutions.
“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Timothy, Protege of the Apostle Paul
Tumblr media
BibleArtLibrary / Getty Images
Even though he was young, Timothy was respected by fellow believers. Paul regarded him as his spiritual beloved and faithful child.  He was Paul's successor.
Bishop Nonon Orjaleza enumerated Timothy's qualities during the Year of God's Supernatural Manifestations Conference 2024.
What makes Timothy outstanding?
1. Heart connection
"Just like Timothy, connect to your Pastor for your heart to be understanding." Bishop Nonon told us. Followers must maintain an intact relationship with their leaders. We must have an amenable character like Timothy who agrees with his spiritual father (1 Corinthians 4:17). A child who does not rebel.
When Paul picked Timothy as his successor, he realized this young man would be trying to convert Jews, so Paul circumcised Timothy (Acts 16:3). "When we become Christians, we also get circumcised. However, not by the genitals but by heart." Bishop Nonon explained. A circumcised heart will be from dirt. "Allow your leader to perform a surgical operation on you." Bishop Nonon went on. This conveys that disciples must be teachable for his or her leader will correct them.
2. Faithful and Loyal
Based on Philemon 2:22, he was a dutiful child for he has been serving his spiritual father in spreading the gospel. "Another one is Shammah who is working under the shadow of King David, serving behind the scenes." Bishop Nonon preached.  2 Samuel 23:11- Next to him was Shammah son of Agee the Hararite. When the Philistines banded together at a place where there was a field full of lentils, Israel’s troops fled from them. He was one of the three mighty warriors. Fearless as he is, he didn't back out, and shed blood for his King like a loyal warrior.
3. Kindred heart and spirit
"Having a connected relationship with your leader will result in soul ties." Bishop Nonon shared. 1 Samuel 18:1 states that "After David had finished speaking with Saul, the souls of Jonathan and David were knit together, and Jonathan loved him as himself."
"Paul shared how genuine and exceptional Timothy is in his life and in God's work as stated in Philippians 2:19-21." Bishop Nonon said. In 1 Kings 19, God instructed Elijah to anoint Elisha as his successor. When Elijah anointed Elisha, he decided at that point to leave his parents’ home and follow Elijah. Followingly, Elisha became Elijah's servant. In essence, he was an apprentice and would assume the mantle that Elijah left. "Elijah's spirit is connected to Elisha's spirit." Bishop Nonon expounded. They are intertwined. "This is double portion anointing!" Bishop Nonon exclaimed. Bishop Nonon defined God as a multigenerational God. He multiplies his blessing for every descendant. Bishop added, "On the other hand, Gehazi's bloodline is multiple leprosy." This suggests that it is a curse when God does not intervene.
4. Excellent attitude
1 Timothy 6:20- Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith.
Timothy seemed to be affected by his youthful insecurities. In 1 Timothy 4:12, Paul advised him not to allow anyone to underestimate him due to his age. Paul encouraged Timothy to set an example for all believers in his speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. Timothy was unselfish, always bringing glory to God.
Furthermore, Timothy grappled with fear and timidity, but Paul provided reassurance in 2 Timothy 1:6-7. Paul reminded him to kindle the spiritual gift bestowed upon him and emphasized that God had granted them a spirit characterized by power, love, and self-discipline, not one of fear and timidity.
"Mature attitude, mature actions." Bishop Nonon enlightened. Spiritual maturity has the power to help us transcend barriers such as age or other obstacles.
5. Energetic and Enthusiastic
Timothy has been always interested in and excited about Paul's passion. Passion for the ministry (1 Timothy 1:18; 4:14; 6:20). As good as a student, he co-labored with his teacher.  In Paul’s second letter to Timothy, he points out that, “you know what I teach, and how I live, and what my purpose in life is. You know my faith, my patience, my love, and my endurance” (2 Timothy 3:10-11 NLT). Paul sets the pace with his life and challenges Timothy to learn by keeping up and emulating his lifestyle. Timothy and Paul are in the yoke with the burden of the Lord's Kingdom. "Timothy is very self-driven. He has a running condition. Disciples must have a running condition not running condus-on." Bishop Nonon quipped. Kondus-on is a Bisaya word that means pushed forcefully. Disciples must have an initiative to serve God so that leaders will not drag them to church every time.
6. Diligent and Competent
For this reason, Paul urged Timothy to shun all enticements to seize worldly riches and power. Instead, he was to diligently fight the battle for the Christian faith against the false teachers at Ephesus (Eph. 6:11-12). Paul invested in Timothy to help him grow spiritually. Timothy is "‘inwardly strengthened." "Focus on Timothys who are Gospel-deliverers." Bishop Nonon exhorted. "Timothys are assets of God. They have a burning passion for making disciples.
7. Multiplies
"Teach others as well." Bishop Nonon highlighted. "God will operate in the same spirit. Same Pastor, same anointing." Bishop Nonon went on. He also quoted Job 8:1-7, learn from the great men of God.

I think one of the biggest tragedies of Laios & Falin and their relationship is how much his actions impact her life. But like. Specifically how much they WOULDN’T impact her life as much if they weren’t both stuck in such a shitty abusive situation.
This part of the Falin-tries-makeup daydream hour comic is what got me thinking about it again because truly it just... it seems like such a like an offhand comment that I'm sure Laios didn't mean to be cruel or anything. That's just like. A little kid not thinking about what they are saying. ESPECIALLY when the kid in question is Laios.
Tumblr media
But man they depended on each other SO much as kids. Too much. It really feels like they didn't have any other source of positive reinforcement, or anyone else to share themselves with. So of course an offhand comment like that has a huge impact on Falin.
Or this little bit from one of the flashbacks:
Tumblr media
This tears me apart. Do you think it tears him apart to think about? I think it does. I think Laios holds every small failure to care for Falin against himself.
Tumblr media
And then there's the Bigger stuff. The way that him coping with his own trauma ended up impacting her.
Like his interest in monsters. Like him going to find a ghost, and accidentally revealing Falin's magic to the whole village in the process.
Like him needing to leave. And leaving her behind.
He shaped her life so much, and he carries so much guilt for it. And again, there should have been other people there to help. The same things that made Laios need to leave home are the things that made his leaving so hard on Falin. She ate alone after that. She shouldn't have had to eat alone just because Laios wasn't there.
She was 9 when he left for school, and he was 11.
Tumblr media
Nine. And Laios feels like he failed her because he didn't stand by her through this better. As an eleven year old.
Tumblr media
Both of these kids deserved so much better from the world.

Which Bible is Right for you?
AMP-The Amplified Bible is an English language translation of the Bible produced jointly by Zondervan and The Lockman Foundation. The first edition was published in 1965. It is largely a revision of the American Standard Version of 1901, with reference made to various texts in the original languages.
Tumblr media
KJV - King James Version - A great Bible for all to own. Written in Old English, typically hard to understand.  Printed in 1611 it was a collaborative effort of 47 scholars.  Widely accepted as an accurate translation, yet difficult in todays terms to understand however the difficulty of this one is a must-get!
Tumblr media
NKJV - New King James Version - A great study Bible. This one is for anyone who finds the 1611 KJV way too difficult to read or understand. The NKJV is written in a mix of old and new English. So for the everyday reader, it is a great one to read and also a must-get!
Tumblr media
NIV - New International Version - Common Bible Study Translation, easy and relevant reading, It has sold way over a million copies however it is missing certain key scriptures. I strongly advise against this Bible as while it may be really easy to understand. It is known as a "thought for thought" translation.
Tumblr media
ESV-The English Standard Version is an English translation of the Bible. It was first published in 2001 by Crossway. The ESV is based on the 1971 edition of the Revised Standard Version text.
Tumblr media
NASB - New American Standard Bible - Common Bible Study Translation, readable and known for accuracy. It pays close particular attention to the verbs in order to give the reader the same sensitivity to passages being read in the Greek, Aramaic, or Hebrew forms.  Highly literal version.  ESV - English Standard Version - Common Bible Study Translation, easy to read and known for accuracy.  Known as a "word-for-word" translation.  It is the most translated into the most accurate English word of this time.
Tumblr media
NLT - New Living Translation - Good Bible study version.  One of the easiest to read and translated into the current language. I personally find it very easy to understand it is known worldwide for accuracy but it's not recommended alone because of the non-word-for-word translation.
Tumblr media
The following Bible versions I DO NOT recommend for accuracy but are widely read for reasons of delivering a message to a specific age group including teens and young adults.  Not to be used for study, memorisation, or preaching without other versions included.
NIV- The New International Version is an English translation of the Bible first published in 1978 by Biblica. The NIV was published to meet the need for a modern translation done by Bible scholars using the earliest, highest-quality manuscripts available. I personally call it the politically correct Bible.
The Message - Dynamic version with very modern English.  Paraphrases without complete accuracy to verbs, or literal translations. I do not recommend it as it is way too simplified and does not have enough depth.
Tumblr media
LB - The Living Bible - Modern English, not recommended.  Paraphrased and considered inadequate.  Known as more of a commentary than an accurate translation of the Bible.
Tumblr media
Thoughtfully consider purchasing a Bible that is easy for you to read.  You are then more likely to spend time reading it.  A large type is helpful, as well as margins that are large enough to add notes.  There are also a number of additions in certain Bibles with maps, a cross-reference system, concordance and a dictionary.  These tools are necessary for any serious study of the Holy Bible. I own a KJV, NKJV, NLT, and ESV. I mostly read the ESV or the KJV.

Thomas was doubting Christ’s resurrection (John 20:25), while Peter sank while walking on top of a body of water (Matthew 14:28-31) and he also denied Christ three times (John 18:15-18; John 18:25-27). We will all struggle with our faith at times. As we are told in Scripture, Christ told a man, “All things are possible to him who believes,” and the man replied, “I do believe; help my unbelief” (Mark 9:23-24). That man knew he had faith, but it wasn’t what it should’ve been.
No one has perfect faith, there’s always room for growth; not even Christ’s apostles had perfect faith. Thankfully, it’s not about us but it’s all about Him. As D.A. Carson said, it’s not about “the intensity, or the clarity, of the faith exercised. But [we are saved] on the ground of the blood of the Lamb.”
I like how John Owen put it, “A little faith is no less faith than a great faith; yea, a little faith will carry a man as safely to heaven, though not so comfortably, nor so fruitfully, as a great faith.”

the Bible is a historical document, just not in the way a lot of people think it means when historians say that. regardless of your belief system and no matter your personal feelings, the Bible is a primary source and primary sources cannot be discounted on grounds of "but I don't like it". people not understanding this concept is why you can’t adequately discuss anything concerning said source with them because they kneejerk into “IT’S ALL FAIRYTALES AND LIES!!!” or sometimes “everything happened exactly like that and there’s no debate”. in both cases a regrettable lack of nuance, but far worse so in the former case because those people pretend to be in the camp of “rational science”. something something please develop some historical literacy before you engage in discussions pertaining to (ancient) history.

God's Secrets are His, God's Word is Ours
Deuteronomy 29:29
The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
Though God hasn't told us even about the world, it is not for us to know or discover. He has told us what He wants us to know and understand, and for that we ought to be exceedingly grateful that He has shared such valuable wisdom so that we may not be lost! And it's free!

The Book of Joel
This month I was studying Joel mainly because it's short and it's the holiday season (there's so much to do), but as I was studying Joel I was taken aback by how much we can take from these 3 chapters.
What first blew me away was the way Joel was written. It almost feels like a fever dream. We can see it in chapter 2, Joel goes back and forth between his present future and the future-future (The Period of Grace and on). How much God revealed to him increases the mystery that surrounds him.
Who was he that God revealed so much to him? That he was privy to information that only the likes of John and Daniel were given?
Another point that touched me deeply when I was reading chapter 2 was God's bond with Israel. His love is deep and beyond comprehension. The blessings that he has reserved for His special chosen people.
26 "You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame. 27 You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God and there is none else. And my people shall never again be put to shame.
"...my people shall never again be put to shame." Even when they rejected Him, God show's his mercy. While some of these promises are solely reserved for Israel, it is true that God extends his love and mercy to whomever He chooses- even when we in our humanity can not understand it. What a reminder that God's love is great, even when we ourselves turn from Him.
I'll leave this here for now.
