i know pirates of the caribbean would have never been made today (on-location practical effects film) but if it WAS...
we'd absolutely have another "Introducing Disney's First Ever LGBT Character!!" moment, and of course everyone would be like "oh yeah, jack sparrow is bisexual, we're aware, got it." and then disney would be like "No."
and so we'd be like, "Oh, okay, Pintel and Ragetti are definitely not related and there's something homeoerotic going on there. Cool. We support that." and disney would go "No..."
and then they'd point to this fucking picture
Tumblr media
"Maccus, the shark-headed first mate, has unrequited feelings for Davy Jones..." and there'd be an approximately 0.5 second scene where Maccus looks at Davy out of the corner of his 3rd eye and goes "Davy....." and Davy ignores him and disney is like "We're so brave for this."
and it'd be another goddamn gaston/le fou situation where half of y'all would be going "oh my god slayyyy love is reeaaalll" while the other half are pointing out how weirdly homophobic it is to have the cursed, PERPETUALLY DAMNED, ANIMAL-LIKE men be hinted as gay
and the fanart would be vile

Kaz, picking Jesper and Wylan up from the stadwatch cells: Weird choice for date night.
Jesper: Where did you take Inej last weekend?
Kaz: That wasn't-
Jesper: Where?
Kaz: *incoherent mumbling*
Wylan, who just wants to go home: Louder.
Kaz, groaning: I took Inej on an excursion to the tunnels under Ketterdam.
Jesper: Tunnels?
Kaz, muttering: Sewers.
Jesper: That's all I wanted.

Do you think since Nightwing was willing to kill the Joker for Jason, that he has more loyalty to Jason/other Robins than he does to Batman? He knows Bruce better than anyone, so he should have accepted why he didn't kill the Joker himself
Short answer: nope. I personally don’t think there’s anyone Dick is more loyal to than Bruce. (He can be so intense and explicit about it, too.)
Long answer:
Ohhhh honey I don’t even know where to start with Dick’s loyalty to Bruce. It knows no bounds. It really knows no bounds. You can’t get Bruce out of Dick’s veins, he’s in that deep.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even when Bruce “did bad things/was an asshole” Dick would defend him and make excuses for him in front of others. And it doesn’t surprise me at all because that’s his Dad and Dick is an insanely devoted kid; no matter what happens he’ll always be loyal to Bruce. You could call it endearing, a character flaw, a blind spot– really depends on how you look at it.
Okay so let’s talk about the Joker Last Laugh fiasco! -war flashbacks-
(I went back and hate-reread the whole thing just for you, anon🫶🏼)
(I have qualms with some of the writing in this story but for the sake of this ask I won’t nitpick)
“Dick killing the Joker” did not occur in a vacuum so let’s analyze what happened before, during, and after. At the start we see Dick trying to get Babs to relax and take a break from her work (in addition to obsessively watching the Joker’s every move via CCTV). While they’re out Babs talks about how she wishes they could just be rid of the Joker permanently. This train of thought comes up again and again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She says she wants him dead. His answer is “we don’t do revenge”. That’s his moral code courtesy of Bruce. It makes several appearances in this story.
Dick keeps trying to reason with her and talk her down, even though he was also traumatized by what happened to her. When recalling what the Joker did to Babs and the immediate aftermath of it, Dick (in his head) describes those as the darkest days of his life since his parents’ death.
This shows us that Dick is deeply affected by the pain his loved ones go through and that he reflects on it. And then, amidst all the chaos, news reaches him of Tim’s presumed death at the hands of the Joker, and it’s like the final straw on top of the mountain he’d already been carrying on his back. Jason’s death. The attack on Babs that continues to cause her immense pain. And now Tim? It’s too much, the pain and rage tips him into a breakdown. Even Babs later tells Tim that Dick was acting different and “changed” after he found out that Tim was presumed dead. He even subtly blames himself by saying “we weren’t there for him.”
Dick’s not in his right mind at all when he goes to the cathedral to face the Joker, and it’s obvious. He doesn’t say a single word, immediately starts throwing punches, and when he finally speaks he explodes
Tumblr media
He’s so out of it that when he sees Tim he thinks it’s a trick. He’s having a full-on breakdown. I wouldn’t call that “willingly” doing anything. Because when he does snap out of it he goes right back to the moral code he’s been preaching all along and is utterly shattered by his own actions. The first thing out of his mouth is “what have I done?”
Tumblr media
Bruce is there to resuscitate the Joker to save his son from the mental toll that killing would have on him, but it still isn’t enough. He’s completely dismayed and just walks out in a daze all alone.
After walking out, he beats himself up, isolates himself from everyone, ignores Babs’s calls, and even considers quitting crimefighting all together because he almost killed the Joker. Which he thinks is a massive failure. I repeat, Dick thinks almost killing the Joker was the biggest failure ever. He breaks the moral code once and can’t bear to look anyone in the eye anymore. I don’t know if we want to call that “willing”.
TLDR; the aftermath of his breakdown in Joker Last Laugh is actually a classic example of his undying loyalty to Bruce. Everyone except Bruce basically tells him hey it’s fine maybe you did a bad thing but you’re human and we wanted Joker dead anyway, and you know what Dick does? Turns inward and dismisses all attempts at comfort, because the one person who matters most and whose opinion reigns supreme didn’t tell him that it’s okay: Bruce.

it’s the final scenes of s5, after the mandatory time skip, the kids are having a final hang out before summer starts and some people leave for vacation
the camera pans over to the parents in the kitchen, comparing photo albums of their kids over the years, crying at how much they’ve grown up. karen makes a off-hand comment about how annoying it is that “mike refuses to smile in any picture” but then joyce looks over confused, asking “what do you mean?” before sliding over her own album to reveal pages of mike and will pictures where mike “mom 🙄🙄 can i go now 😤😒” wheeler is grinning his ass off in every single photo
joyce starts talking with the sinclairs and karen is left holding a picture of little will and mike: mike’s arms are wrapped around will and will laughs at the camera, but mike’s eyes, mike’s blinding smile, is directed at will and will alone. the camera zooms in on karen as a small, fond smile overtakes her face and her gaze shifts to the other room, where byler sits curled up next to each other on the couch, their pinkies entwined just out of view. will is laughing at something dustin has said and mike, her disgruntled and annoyed and constantly fighting the world mike, is smiling big and bright at the boy next to him.
a quiet laugh escapes karen’s lips as she watches mike lean down to whisper something in wills ear, watches the blush and fond smile bloom on will’s face as mike pulls will closer, and she softly whispers, ‘well, stranger things have happened’

OH NO NOW IT’S CATCHING
NOT THE MARKETPLACE HIMBO ;_; His Kenergy was unmatched
The split screen between Fai and Kurogane as they go Full Intensity Mode is FANTASTIC though. Kurogane’s sword is OUT and READY FOR THREATS.
Luckily the people mostly just seem to be threats to themselves more than anything at the moment but it’s good to be prepared
Tumblr media Tumblr media
OHHHHHHHHHH Oh dear that is bad
The time loop could sustain itself comfortably potentially forever as long as everything was the same and there were no changes, but the second they arrived things grew less and less stable, and the more new things they did the more this escalated.
To the point where now when they’re asking new questions people all around them are just coming apart at the seams and the entire time loop is collapsing.
The really interesting part is that this is probably a bit of a parallel to what Evil Wolverine is doing to the universe at large - where things are all nice and working just fine as long as everything is contained within the rules that run the universe, but the more Evil Wolverine pokes holes in the timelines and disrupts things with his plans, the more the logic of the universe starts to collapse around itself and things just generally start falling apart. It’s like a slowly escalating entropy scale that suddenly starts to tip the heavy it gets - and I assume his plan is to get it to flip entirely so he can finally just do what he wants and the rules can’t stop him.
Tumblr media
And CONFIRMED: Kurogane and Fai both read them as alive, so they are living beings in some sense or another.
Which has that LOVELY CLAMP TWIST OF THE KNIFE, where we could already guess that they were alive due to the cues given, but they didn’t confirm it in the narrative until AFTER they all started falling apart right in front of us.
:D It’s the CLAMP way!

As much as I don't mind epilogues in the credits and bonus credit scenes, I miss watching bloopers at the end of movies. I want to see the humanity. I want to see how many times it took to get a scene right. I want to see someone slip, or get tongue tied, or when no one can keep their composure. I want to see the actors laughing and having fun making the film I just enjoyed.

The Biodiversity Saga - Parting Words and Sources
This is my final post in a series I’ll be making on how to increase biodiversity on a budget! I’m not an expert--just an enthusiast--but I hope something you find here helps!
Tumblr media
Finally, at long last, it’s almost time for me to shut the fuck up. But before I go, I just wanted to say a few things!
First things first, every little bit you do counts! And I genuinely mean that. Even if you can only do a handful of these things, or even just one, that’s better than doing nothing. I know it can feel like it doesn’t matter in the long run, that you’re not having an impact--especially when you’re first starting.
But the ecosystem wants to work with you to grow back and be biodiverse. Even just doing some of these actions will help the ecosystem gain resilience and build itself back. Once you get the process of increasing biodiversity started, it can and will build on itself after a while in a positive feedback loop. Something as simple as mulching or composting will bring decomposing bugs, which bring pest-hunting bugs and birds. The birds will bring seeds in their poop, which then drops more native plants into the mix. As those plants grow, they’ll attract more diverse insects to the area, which’ll then attract reptiles and amphibians to eat the insects. The cycle you start will continue. You can certainly do more actions to speed things along, but they’ll happen nonetheless.
So no matter how big or how small. Whether you can spare a few potted plants on a balcony or patio space, or are collecting seeds to turn your backyard into a wildflower meadow. Whether you’ve got a birdfeeder, or a birdhouse, or even just some tomatoes and beans and sunflowers. Whether all of this is feasible for you, bit by bit, or if all you can do is know how to help and talk to people about it. I see you. And I appreciate the work you’re doing to improve our world for the wildlife we share it with.
And I’m sure the wildlife appreciate it too. Even if you don’t see it directly.
With that being said, in a reblog I’ll be linking additional sources, if you want to do some additional reading. Whether you use these links to do further research, to help decide what route you want to take on your next project, to win an argument/support your arguments, or to 'well, actually' me in the comments, I hope they're of help to you!

god one of my pet peeves is when i will say something general like "it's so annoying that everyone drinks" and someone will respond with "uhm not EVERY single person drinks you are wrong" .........bitch...........rarely in the history of language when someone says "everyone" do they mean "ever single person without exception or nuance"
