Chapter 15: Best last day ever!

I didn’t know how long I was asleep for but by the time I woke up we had returned to the lion temple. I rubbed my eyes and looked around, there were many celebrations going on. Probably due to the fact that the missing members of the lion tribe were finally found. Though I just found myself really tired to be honest, I didn’t want to go to sleep yet. Or more retrospectively I couldn’t, all these thoughts were running through my head and I couldn’t get them out. Like I didn’t know what was exactly going to happen tomorrow or if the machine would even work, no who am I kidding of course it’ll work. I reassured myself, Gaster probably knows what he’s doing. I took a seat on the steps of the lion temple and just thought, I was frankly worried. I was glad everyone was safe, but I was worried that me and Asriel could be stuck here for longer. I felt a light tap on my shoulder and turned around, expecting Laval but actually it was Li’ella which surprised me since I expected her to be taking part in the festivities.

“Do you mind if I sit here?” She asked.

“Oh sure I don’t mind at all.” I answered, moving up so she could take a seat. “Why aren’t you taking part in the festivities?” I looked at her as I curled up into a ball.

“Oh it got a bit too loud so I’m taking a moment away from everything” She answered, taking a seat next to me in the process. “I just like to sit on the steps but it looks like you beat me to it.”

“Oh yeah.” I chuckled, “Sorry about that.”

“It’s fine honestly.” She smiled at me, “It’s better than being cooped up in a cell for twenty four hours. Thanks again by the way.”

“Li’ella it’s nothing. Though I still don’t understand Crooler’s plan.”

“I think she wanted to make some type of mind-controlled army with us. And I think she used Asriel for testing. I don’t exactly know though.” She scratched the back of her head, “Doesn’t really matter anymore.” She sighed.

“Look, don't worry about Crooler.” I said hopefully, “If all goes right she’ll change for the better.”

“I hope so..” There was an awkward silence before she continued, “How did you get wrapped up in all of this?”

“Oh. That in fact is a long story.” I began explaining everything to her, only leaving out details about Laval and Cragger’s relationship. Once I finished I sighed, “Honestly it was pure coincidence I came across them in those woods anyways.”

“Well I’m honestly glad you did.” She answered, “I wish we had more time to talk. You seem like a nice person Sho.”

“Well there’s still tomorrow and I don’t think I’ll leave the lion temple until I have to go back to my realm. So we have some time to hangout.” I smiled at her, “Although I think I’ll mainly stick with Laval.”

“Understandable.” She responded, “Laval is a nice guy. I should know I used to date him.” She laughed.

“Oh. What happened there?” I asked curiously, “You don’t have to answer if you don’t have to”

“It’s fine.” She smiled as she explained, “I guess we sort of fell out of love, which is alright. I still remember fondly about the time I spent with him, we split on decent terms.”

“That’s nice.” I answered, “It’s nice you two are still friends.”

“Yeah. I don’t really let it get me down anymore, we’re still friends and that’s all that really matters.”

“Yeah. It’s all that could’ve happened, plus Laval doesn’t have a bad bone in their body to hate someone unless they did something like, REALLY bad.” I yawned, “I might just head up to bed, really tired after today.”

“I understand, you had to go through alot.” She stated, “I’ll see you in the morning Sho. Goodnight.”

“Night Li’ella.” I answered as I walked away. Though I didn’t go straight to bed, I watched the festivities as I walked by. Only stopping to watch Laval and Cragger dance which made me somewhat smile. Once I had gotten up to my room, I changed back into my clothes and put on my headphones. I scrolled through my songs until I got to I’m still standing by Elton John, although the song was rather energetic I didn’t care. I laid down in my bed as the song played and my eyes drifted off to sleep.

I woke up the next morning still feeling rather tired. However, with one good stretch I was ready to go, I left my room and went to look for Asriel who I found just looking outside his window. I walked up next to him. “How are you feeling Asriel?” I asked him. “Oh…not particularly great.” Asriel answered, turning to me, “I thought that everything would be normal once I was no longer under Crooler’s control but…I remember everything. It felt like someone else was in my body but I could still see what I was doing..”

“That means you remember..”

“Yeah I remember nearly choking you out, I remember what I said to you… I remember stabbing Lagravis…” Asriel wiped his eyes, “And I feel so guilty…I wish I did something, I wish I fought back…” I put a supportive arm on Asriel’s shoulder.

“That isn’t your fault. Crooler used that weird plant thing to manipulate you, you didn’t have a choice.”

“But I nearly killed both you and Lagravis Sho. What I said to you was horrible.”

“You're not a criminal, Asriel. You’re not a bad person, you were being used by Crooler. Don’t forget that.” I hugged Asriel, “It’ll take time to heal but trust me it will get better.”

“Thanks Sho. You're too kind for this world…” Answered Asriel as we stopped embracing.

“You're welcome, wanna go and find Laval to hangout for a bit?” I asked him. “Just to get your mind off things.”

“Sure if you want.” Asriel responded, looking sorta down. We both left the room looking for Laval. Knocking on their door in the process.

“Give me two seconds!” He shouted, “Okay you can enter!” We both entered Laval’s room which was seemingly a mess, giving the impression he had only just woken up. “Hey Sho, Hey Asriel.”

“Hey Laval.” Asriel waved at Laval, “How have you been?”

“Alright to be honest.” Laval smiled at Asriel, “Got to dance with my friends and Cragger last night so it was pretty good.”

“Sweet!” I responded, taking a seat on Laval’s bed, “Well me and Asriel probably have a couple of hours to kill before we return to our realm. So what should we do?”

“Hmmmm.” Laval thought for a moment, “I was gonna say let’s have a speedor race but I doubt Asriel would want to do that again.”

“Yeah you’d be right about that.” Asriel answered bluntly, leaving Laval thinking for a moment.

“Hmmmmm.” Laval hummed for a moment then looked up at my hair then came up with an idea, “Wanna try on my crown Sho?”

“Wha- Really?” I looked at Laval confused, “C’mon man I won’t be able to pull it off.”

“It’ll be fine.” Laval reassured me as he took it off, their mane flopped down which kinda covered his eyes, “The comb-thingies will hold it up.”

“Whoa man your mane!” Asriel gasped, “It looks really nice.” Laval smiled at this.

“Thanks man.” Laval responded as he handed me the crown, “Not many people get to see my mane like this so take a good long look. Also Sho just push your hair back then put the crown on. The comb-thingies should do most of the magic”

“Oh alright.” I did what Laval had told me to do, pushing my hair back as I carefully placed the crown on my head. “How do I look?”

“Oh like a prince!” Laval complimented, “You should look in the mirror man!” I looked in Laval's mirror and he was right, I did look like a prince.

"I look dapper!!" I gasped, looking in the mirror in astonishment. "I actually look amazing!"

“You really do Sho..” Asriel muttered, also taking a look in the mirror, “Man, I don’t exactly look the best right now huh..?” I turned to Asriel. “NONSENSE!” I shouted jokingly, “Sure you may look slightly tired and you basically were forced to do stuff you wouldn’t normally do. But other than that you still look amazing!” Asriel gave a slight chuckle and looked at me.

“Yeah…” He mumbled, we heard a knock at the door and turned to it. Seeing Li’ella appear at the door. I waved at her as Laval jumped up.

“It’s so good to see you again Li’ella.” Laval laughed as he hugged her, “Nice to see you're doing well.”

“Thank you Laval.” Li’ella responded as she returned their hug, “I’m just trying to get used to everything again to be honest with you. With being in captivity for three months..” She sighed.

“Yeah I understand that one-hundred percent!” He chuckled, “It’s going to take awhile to re-adjust to everything.” Li’ella gave a genuine smile to Laval.

“Yeah I guess that’s right…” Li’ella muttered, “That’s not why I’m here though, I’ve come to tell you that Cragger’s here-”

“Wait- Cragger’s here?!” Laval grinned, he then turned to me. “I’m gonna need that crown back Sho-” I took the crown off and handed it to Laval as I sorted my hair. I also watched as Laval tied his mane into a ponytail with my hair-tie which I didn't really mind if he kept.

“Here ya go Laval.” I said as I turned to Li’ella. “It’s nice to see you again too.” She gave me a smile.

“It’s nice to see you too Sho.” She walked over to Asriel and gave him a hug, “And how are you doing Asriel?”

“Better…” Asriel gave a faint smile as they embraced “I’m doing better.” There was a sudden PING! from my phone and I quickly checked it. It’s from Gaster.

8am Gaster: Sho everything is ready. Get to the origin point and say your goodbyes to everyone.

I didn’t respond to the message, I honestly didn’t know what to do. I thought we had more time. I thought to myself as I sighed, I looked up at Laval, Asriel and Li’ella.

“What’s up Sho?” Laval asked curiously, tilting his head to the side like a confused kid. I stood up.

“It’s time to go.” I said rather bluntly, helping Asriel to his feet.

“Oh right!” Laval responded, jumping to his feet. “I’ll tell Cragger to help give you both a ride to spiral mountain.” I saw Laval smile, was he planning something? I thought to myself as we left the room. We walked through the empty corridors of the lion temple and down to the courts where Cragger was found.

“Took you long enough.” Cragger joked with a tiny laugh as he grabbed ahold of Laval’s hand. “I’ve parked my speedor just outside the temple!”

“Actually Cragger. It’s time for them to go.” Laval turned into mine and Asriel’s direction and he continued with his faint smile

“Oh right.” Cragger mumbled, “C’mon we got no time t-” He was interrupted by someone shouting.

“WAIT SHO-” I looked in the direction of the shouting and saw Lavertus running in my direction. He seemed to be carrying something, “Before you go I decided to spend all night making you something.” I looked at him curiously as I looked down at what he was holding. He was holding some sort of brown satchel, though the button on it seemed custom made specifically for this satchel. The button itself was in the shape of a lion head and shined like gold. “Even though you're from a different realm, you have the heart of a true lion so I wanted to make something to represent that!” He handed me the satchel and gleamed with true happiness.

“Whoa!” I looked at the satchel shocked, “This is sick! Thanks man.” I swang the satchel over my shoulder and smiled.

“Your welcome Sho! I’m really gonna miss ya! Or am I?” He then laughed at his own joke which in retrospect was rather cringey but I couldn’t help but chuckle. “I’m just messin’ I am actually gonna miss you. Welp, see you in another lifetime human!” And like that, Lavertus turned away and walked back into the lion temple. I stood there slightly confused before getting a tap on the shoulder.

“C’mon Sho.” Cragger said, almost as if he wanted me to follow him to his speedor. I followed him and hopped onto his speedor with Asriel hopping onto Laval’s speedor, soon we began getting on our way to spiral mountain. As we travelled I couldn’t help but feel…I dunno, sorta of a melancholic feeling. I didn’t understand why..

We soon found ourselves back at Spiral mountain. Back at the beginning I thought to myself as I hopped off Cragger’s speedor to suddenly be greeted with a hug from Gorzan.

“Don’t go so soon dude!” He shouted, almost upset, “We’ve just met and you're already leaving?”

“I have too.” I murmured, reciprocating the hug, “I don’t belong here Gorzan.” I quickly looked around then realised that most of Laval and Cragger’s friend group was here; Eris, Razar, Rogon and Worriz (which surprised me since I thought he hated me). The only person that wasn’t here was Bladvic but that could be summed up to him sleeping somewhere on the way. I looked at Asriel who began to speak.

“You came here to see us off?” He asked in a faint tone.

“Yeah!” Eris exclaimed, “You're both chill and honestly fun to hangout with so this will most certainly be sad."

"I only came because Razar forced me…" Worriz grumbled, looking at the raven embarrassed.

"Oh shush my dear wolf friend." Razar booped Worriz's nose with his hook which made him noticeably blush, "You think I'm missing the send off of someone who gave me such a rare trinket?!"

"No.." Worriz mumbled, turning away from the Raven to hide his embarrassed look. This made me laugh. I looked down at my phone, I need to message Gaster.. I thought to myself before turning to the group.

"Why don't we all get a photo?" I asked charismatically, "It'd be a nice way for me and Asriel to remember yall."

"A photo…?" Rogon looked at me confused, "I dunno what that is but it sounds fun!" He then grinned as grabbed Eris' hand, which took her by surprise but she ended up smiling. "C'mon let's do it!"

"I second that!" Laval exclaimed as I began posing for the selfie.

"Ready…?" I posed my phone up as I threw a peace sign and everyone got into position. I clicked the camera button. There was then a small click and I looked at the photo on my phone. "That looks brilliant!" I complimented. I then opened my message app and clicked on Gaster's profile.

8:35am Sho: We're here. Open the portal. Gaster: Right, brace yourself.

Suddenly, there was a shining blue light which contrast the scenery. The portal was open and we're actually going home I thought to myself as I looked at the portal. Asriel waved at everyone and walked through the portal, however I hesitated. I don't know why I'm hesitating, was it because I was gonna lose two friends…? I wandered as I looked back at the rest of the group, or more specifically Laval and Cragger.

"Sho are you alright…?" Cragger asked me as I looked at him.

"Yeah you seem to he holdi-" Laval was interrupted by me running up to both of them and hugging them.

"No matter where we are, we'll still be friends right..?" I asked, almost crying.

"Yeah…yeah…" Laval answered as he wiped my eyes. "Sho no matter where you are, your always a beacon of hope. That similar hope is found all over chima. So I'm sure we'll stay friends no matter where we are."

"I agree with Laval." Cragger mumbled, looking like he was about to cry, "We'll always be friends man. Nothing can change that." We soon stopped embracing as I looked at the portal. I looked back at the entire group then gave them a genuine smile before stepping through.

The dim-atmosphere of the Laboratory was almost blinding to me as I stepped through, it was a stark contrast to chima that's for sure. I looked over at Asriel, who seemed to be hugging his parents and Akemi. Akemi was holding him tightly, almost unwilling to let go which gave me a slight chuckle. As I heard the portal close behind me, I looked straight-ahead and I saw them. My parents, Grillby and Sans. 

"Dad…" I murmured as I stepped towards them, embracing Grillby first before sans joined in. "I'm so sorry… I should've explained everything I-"

"Sho it doesn't matter…" Grillby muttered at he pet my head parent-like, "What matters is that you and Asriel are safe… How about we get you home and make you a nice mug of hot chocolate then you can explain everything alright…?" I looked up at Grillby then nodded.

"That sounds nice…" I murmured, not letting go of Grillby.

"your gonna be alright kid…" Sans commented in his usual tone, "your going to be alright…". I felt a sense of hope, everything was back to normal and…I was home.

Epilogue 1 ->

Alrighty Chapter 15, I wanted a nice "ending" to the story. And this was how, though I did still have some ideas left for two epilogues. This chapter is meant to have a bit of a slow feeling which it's able to perfectly achieve I think.

Welcome, demigods, to the Hallowed Woods Mountain Resort !!

As the demigods step through the portal, all their weekend luggage in tow, they find themselves in the lobby of the Hallowed Woods Mountain Resort in Colorado! Before them is a luxurious and grand foyer, made of gorgeous stained wood and old stone, with high ceilings and tall windows that let the sunlight from outside spill in. In fact, looking through those windows, the demigods can see the vast and breathtaking view— an expanse of snow and trees for almost as far as the eye can see. They’re nestled comfortably in the middle of these woods, private property on the side of a mountain, and the entire place is reserved just for them, though the nearby mountain town houses locals and other tourists.

Marina gathers them in the lobby, a pleased and bright smile on her face, standing next to the ever-radiant, revered, and friendly Aphrodite. The goddess claps her hands excitedly, eyes sparkling, both in delight at the fun she hopes the demigods will have on this excursion, and also because she knows the whole weekend is basically dedicated to her. She thanks the demigods for their time and their honor, then passes the baton to Marina, who happily informs them again of their room assignments, lists all the various activities and amenities available to them for the next two days, and lets them know the resort’s event hall will be all decked out for them for tomorrow’s ball.

“We sincerely hope all of you take the weekend to relax and enjoy yourselves, you deserve it more than we can say. Make some memories, demigods, and we can’t wait to see you all at tomorrow night’s masquerade!”

- anyone signed up for a mystery date will have been given a location and time to meet their date right before the ball, feel free to plot that with your partners as well! generally speaking, no one knows who the pairs are in character, but you can make decisions on your own about how/when/if your characters would discover who their dates are.

- remember that Aphrodite only appears as her FC Jiu when she’s hiding and blending in with the demigods, but when she’s publicly showing up as Aphrodite, she takes another form so she can keep that illusion going. she’ll be around for most of the weekend, however as soon as the Masquerade Ball starts, she will be heading back to Olympus since it’s kind of awkward for her to be present at the same event where demigods will be making offerings to her all night, but she’ll feel all your blessings from Olympus!

When she was found by Eren and returned to the Walls, Levi had a mixture of emotions that he just couldn't control; Anger, Happiness, Relief and Shock. Erwin Smith: Amaris was Erwin's lover when she was a scout, she of course, was in love with Erwin and thought he felt the same. Only to be betrayed by Erwin and the Council as a "Secret Weapon" of humanity. Resulting in her turning into a Pure Titan for most of her life. As a replacement for the former strongest soldier, they read her letters to her Mother and Levi, resulting in Levi becoming Humanity's Strongest. Hanji Zoe: Amaris was Hanji's mentor whilst she was training to be a Scout. Amaris taught Hanji about Titans and to be careful around them, but Hanji, being a titan fanatic took her superior's words in but still gets carried away. Amaris also considers Hanji to be the most trustworthy in the Scouts. Eren Yeager: Though Amaris thought he was an annoying little runt at first, she loved the fire in his eyes. It reminded her of Levi when he was young. She found Eren surrounded by a bunch of thugs and decided to save him, much to his displeasure, leading to him explaining that he can handle himself. But was secretly in awe of her hand to hand combat skills and strength. Mikasa Ackerman: Amaris doesn't really interact with Mikasa unless calming her down from one of her panics over Eren. Amaris is considered a mother figure in Mikasa's eyes resulting in her being over-protective. Armin Arlert: Amaris believes Armin is the future of humanity's survival, even more so than Erwin was. Though she doesn't interact with him either, she give him wise advice when he needs it. Hannah Magnolia: Hannah was like a sister to Amaris. They did everything together; from stealing to fighting. Up until her death from a gang fight, where she was stabbed in the stomach. She was the older sister of Isabel Magnolia. Margo Church: Margo was another friend of Amaris, also considered a sister. She was stabbed in the throat, trying to protect Amaris from a thug. She was known as the peacekeeper of the group, and never was one to start fights. FACTS: Amaris is Pansexual and Demigirl. She loves tea, but prefers hot chocolate  more. She likes cleanliness like her brother, but isn't as bad. Amaris looks a lot like her mother when her hair is grown out. She know her brother is secretly obsessed with her but ignores it. She thinks Eren is annoying yet cute. Everything she does is for Levi and her Mother. Since Attack On Titan is based in the 1800's, incest was found in many families to make a bloodline stronger, so my character can be paired with Levi, but mainly Eren. Hi I'm the anon who asked about the Yabami Radio :) I was wondering if you remember anything Kaji talked about in that radio? cus i know that naomi watanabe who hosts the radio can be really comedic! so i was just curious to see what kaji and naomi talked about?

Hello! I assume it’s this ask? (⊙ꇴ⊙) 

I really should have answered this earlier cause it’s been so long that my memory is fading (￣ー￣；

One of the things that definitely left an impression on me though, was when they asked Kaji to demonstrate Eren’s line from AOT (the usual “I’ll exterminate them all”), Watanabe pointed out that Kaji was very professional in how he naturally adjusted the distance between himself and the mic when he raised his voice, by moving his head slightly diagonally away from the mic, in order to avoid the sound from being “cancelled out” for being too loud (this is a voice acting terminology “マイクを吹く”, I’m not sure if there’s a better word to describe it in English but that’s the general gist of it) It was something I was surprised someone other than a voice actor would notice, cause being mindful of the mic is something that all seiyuu watch out for. Kaji responded saying that the mic is every seiyuu’s good buddy, so it’s important to treat them gently (wait, I’m not sure if he said this here or in some other program but it’s something along these lines (^▽^;)) 

Also, the theme was on “下積み時代 | Early years”、so they mainly asked him about how he fared back when he first started out as a voice actor. He talked about how his agency back then (Arts Vision) is quite a large agency, so it was difficult to even be given a chance to participate in an audition, this is because each agency is allowed a limited number of slots for each audition: as in each agency can only send out a certain number of voice actors to represent them in an audition. So if you’re still new, the agency is more likely to give those slots to more experienced veterans. Therefore, being in an agency with many people like Arts Vision made it hard to even try for an audition, let alone get a real voice-acting role. He mentioned that during that period, he obviously had to work multiple part-time jobs to feed himself, but even that made him question himself if there’s something else he should be doing to improve as a voice actor. When he gets a day off from work, he would gather with a group of other young voice actors at Yoyogi Park to practice reading lines, because they didn’t have a studio to practice in or the leisure to spend money at Karaoke so often. Interestingly, this is where the comedians (the other two hosts) could relate to, saying that they used to practice skits at Yoyogi Park too, in fact, it is also where a lot of aspiring entertainers go to for practice (like you’d see people playing instruments etc.) It’s a free public space after all. Kaji then talks about how if you ever hear people shouting weird things like “This is my power!” (or some chuuni-esque lines) from behind the bushes at Yoyogi Park, those are most definitely aspiring voice actors (ᗒᗨᗕ), “so please watch over them kindly”.Apparently, the comedians have spot people saying lines like that at Yoyogi Park before too. I’m definitely going to spend one whole day at Yoyogi Park the next time I go to Japan (￣`Д´￣)9

Chapter 14: The Battle of the Outlands.

I woke up the next morning and groaned. Alright today was it. I thought to myself, grabbing my glasses and placing them over my eyes. Either we fail miserably or we stop Crooler. I looked around the room thinking to myself for a moment, a part of me still hoped this was some sort of dream that I was in a coma when the machine exploded. However that wasn’t the case, this was real. I was going to fight in a battle in a couple of hours, I got out of my bed and looked out at Chima. I didn’t realise how beautiful it was. The past couple of days have been so stressful and taking this moment to breathe and take in the scenery was just great. Soon I heard my door open and turned to see Laval standing there.

“How ya feeling Sho?” He asked me, he walked next to me and began looking outside with me.

“I dunno to be honest.” I responded with a sigh, “I’ve just been so stressed the past few days that I just need a moment to myself before this battle”

“I understand what you mean.” Laval looked at me, “I used to do this alot during previous wars. Mainly when Cragger was under the persuader plant.” I looked at Laval, I sat on my bed.

“Really?” I asked curiously, one question lingered in my mind. “Did…Did it hurt fighting Cragger?”

“Huh?” Laval seemed somewhat taken aback by my question, he smiled painfully “Yeah… Especially now that I realised I love him.” He turned to me “But I’d rather not focus on the past!” He grinned, “Cragger has clearly made up for what happened.”

“Yeah” I smiled. That was awfully wise coming from Laval I thought, “Yeah I guess you're right.”

“Yeah. Why are you asking this anyways?” Laval turned to me, “Is this about Asriel?”

“Yeah..” I responded looking away from Laval, “I…I dunno it’s just that I’m worried about what happens today..” Laval sat next to me and patted my back.

“It’ll be alright Sho.” Laval muttered, “Asriel will be alright.” I rested my head on Laval’s shoulder like a little kid would do with an older sibling. Frankly I was scared, and I’m sure my facial expression conveyed that enough. I didn’t know what was going to happen, Laval took notice of this and decided to change the subject. “You know the first thing I’m going to do once all of this is over?”

“What?” I murmured, looking at them with curious intent in my eyes.

“Go on a date with Cragger when I have the free-time to do so!” He grinned although I could tell there was a slight blush coming through their cheeks “And I mean a proper romantic date! Not like speedor racing or anything, plus it’d be a break from all the king duties”

“Really?” I asked, I honestly felt proud of them both. “That’s great!” I smiled.

“Thanks Sho.” Laval responded, “Anyways, what’s your love life like?” He turned to me with genuine curiosity.

“Eh, I’ve always been more of a third wheel.” I answered, shrugging my shoulders. “The whole ‘boyfriend-slash-girlfriend’ thing never really interested me.”

“Oh.” Laval responded, somewhat pleased with my answer. “I mean understandable, that sort of stuff isn’t for everyone.”

I nodded my head, “Even when I was younger I always found it weird, it's something I never understoo-”

"Laval? Is Sho up?" I heard Lavertus shouting.

"Yeah give us ten seconds!" Laval shouted, "C'mon Sho, we have a long day ahead of us."

I lept off the bed and nodded as I I held my hand out. Laval grabbed it and jumped to their feet with a little wobble. Laval embarrassedly grinned and I just chuckled. We both left my room and went to find Lavertus. We found him in the throne room and he seemed to be hiding something behind his back.

“Uncle Lavertus, you wanted to see us both?” Laval asked, trying to peek behind Lavertus' back.

“Yes yes!” Lavertus said with a grin on his face, he seemed to be working on something almost in a world of his own. Lavertus began to take some measurements and I just looked at him confused as he turned around to back what he was doing “Hmmmmm, you both are similar heights…”

“What’s this about Lavertus?” I asked, trying to peek at what he was doing.

“No peeking Mr.Sato!” Lavertus responded, covering up whatever he was doing. “You both need to wait. Although I’m almost done!” I sat by the pool of chi orbs, patiently waiting for Lavertus to finish whatever he was doing. Soon he called us both back over and me and Laval stood there waiting to see what he did. “So! I’m sure Laval that you know that I’ll be battling in the shadowind armour.”

“Yeah you mentioned this to me last night.” Laval responded, I looked at them both confused.

“Well, I thought of something brilliant!” Lavertus responded, He revealed two suits of armour similar to what he was wearing. Almost identical copies, the only difference is that they were modified. I looked at Laval whose eyes were gleaming with excitement whilst I looked puzzled. "I thought since they'll probably target Sho why not have three Shadowinds running about?"

“Wait what hold up-” I looked at Lavertus confused “Why are you doing this exactly?”

“Well.” Lavertus said in a David Tennant-esque way, “I believe that the soldiers will try and target you if they find out you are fighting. So I created replicas of my suit for you, then I realised that we are completely different height-wise so I decided to also make one for Laval!” He gave me and Laval the armour “Try them on please!” I looked at Laval who was staring down at the costume in awe, I looked at it slightly puzzled. But I thought that the points Lavertus had brought up were good ones, I would be targeted for my lack in skills with a sword so anything would help. So I left for my room and walked upstairs as I observed how to get the outfit on in the best way possible. I removed my jacket, although I did feel slightly weird without it on, and gradually got the armour on. Though it was slightly big it did work and I placed the helmet on top of my head, which tinted everything in a cyan colour which took some adjusting to. I left my room, being careful not to trip on the red cape that followed me behind. “How does it fit?” Lavertus asked, looking at me with a curious look in his eyes.

“It’s alright” I responded, taking a seat and removing the helmet “Just tryna adjust my eyes to the cyan lenses you’ve used.”

“Oh they do take awhile to adjust to.” Lavertus responded, taking a seat next to me “However I think everything looks nicer in cyan personally so I’m not complaining about it.” This made me chuckle, though I kind of disagreed with his point of everything looking better in cyan. I heard footsteps and looked up to see Cragger up-ahead. He walked up to us and took immediate notice of what I was wearing.

“Whoa Sho! You’ve got your own Shadowind costume?!” He gasped, looking at me in awe.

“Not only me.” I responded as I stood up and stretched, “Laval also has one, and to be honest I think it’ll look better on him than me.” I looked at the helmet, which was shaped like a lion head, yeah this will definitely look better on Laval. As I thought this I saw Laval walk into the room, and yeah my assumption was correct. I looked back over and smirked as I saw Cragger’s face, he looked flustered by seeing his boyfriend in the suit which made me laugh to be honest.

“How does it look?” Laval asked, not noticing Cragger behind him. “It fits doesn’t it?”

“Yeah it does” Lavertus affirmed, adjusting the outfit slightly. “And I’m also not the only one who thinks that.” Lavertus pointed behind him and began to laugh. I soon began to laugh alongside Lavertus as Laval turned around and saw Cragger behind him, both of them got incredibly flustered over this which honestly I found funny. Laval removed their helmet to reveal that their cheeks had gone bright red.

“Hey Laval.” Cragger muttered, covering the blush on his cheeks with his tail and yet failing to do so as the redness on his cheeks was obvious to make out, “You look good.”

“Thanks mudlover.” Laval responded, placing a careful kiss on Cragger’s forehead. He then turned to me and Lavertus, taking time to compose himself before speaking, “Also Sho you should take this.” he handed me a satchel full. I grabbed it and looked at it carefully.

“What do I need this for?” I asked, looking at Laval as he continued to compose himself.

“If your going to be looking for Asriel inside of the base then you might as well get some chi to the prisoners” said Laval, he had a very strict sounding voice which sounded quite similar to Lagravis actually. He walked over to the chi pool and picked up some orbs. Placing them carefully into the satchel, I took one out and looked at it carefully.

“What’s the use of chi exactly?” I asked as I placed the orb back into the bag.

“Well…” Laval thought for a moment, “We’ve based our entire society around chi basically. They can also be used to power ourselves up, giving us more energy and or power.”

“Oh so like Adrenaline.” I said briefly “Wait then why does Crooler want it then?”

“That I don’t exactly kno-” Cragger placed his hand over Laval’s mouth.

“She wants to seize chi for herself and take out the lions.” He said bluntly, “She’s always had something against the lions, even since we were younger.” He then looked at Laval with a sorry look in his eyes “She used the persuader plant on me to try and take out the lions. But Laval honestly helped me snap out of it. Multiple times in fact.”

“And again you're welcome.” Laval said jokingly before turning to me, “Do you understand why she’s such a threat now to our way of life?”

“Yeah I think so.” I thought for a moment, “But why is she like this though?” I looked at Cragger, as he seemed like the one to answer this. Cragger yet again had a sorry look on his face.

“Well, I was kinda the favourite twin.” He’d mutter, “Which caused Crooler to be sort of neglected.”

“Oh.” I said as I looked down at the satchel. There was an awkward silence, though the information was somewhat useful it was actually kind of upsetting. Though I don’t understand Crooler’s motivations, maybe I could talk to her. Lavertus tapped my shoulder and we all looked at him.

“Get your masks on. I think the lion army is about to begin setting off.” He stated as armed forces began walking out of the temple and to their respective vehicles.

“Right.” Laval muttered as we all put our helmets on, bringing back the cyan tint from before, “Let’s get going, Sho you’ll be hopping into the lion tank with me.”

“Oh alright.” I answered, as I followed Laval out to the lion tank. The suspense was tense and I didn’t know what to expect going into this battle. Laval and Cragger were seasoned fighters whilst I was a kid whose biggest battle was trying to get a bargain at the shops and my first and practically only lesson on sword fighting was yesterday. I sighed, but then I saw Laval turn to me and smile.

“You okay Sho?” He asked as we continued walking, their eyes showed concern but also confidence.

“Yeah… just worried that’s all.” I responded, “Just never been in a battle that’s all.” Laval sighed and looked at me, I could tell he was struggling with what to say.

“Look Sho.” He muttered, “I can’t promise you won’t get hurt, but I do promise that Asriel will be alright. We’ll make sure no harm comes to him.”

“Right…” I responded again, with less confidence than before. I’m guessing Laval could sense my confidence getting lower as he went silent for a moment before speaking again.

“You know there’s this thing that Cragger said once that for whatever reason I still think about today” Laval turned to me, “‘Water is like friendship, it only pulls you down when you fight it. Let it flow! and it shall lift you up and carry you along to all the places you ever wanted to go.’. Something along those lines,  whenever I’m going through some sort of rough patch relating to friendship I just think of those words and they help.” I smiled a tiny bit.

“What’s with the water comparison?” I asked curiously.

“Oh! Well I nearly drowned and Cragger used a comparison of friendship to describe swimming” He laughed, “But I’d rather it be said with the term friendship in mind.”

“Yeah, that fits better.” I grinned, though my mood was still rather down about everything, however Laval’s words did help. And made logical sense too surprisingly even though he used the comparison incorrectly it still made me hopeful. We both soon got to the tank and hopped in. I took my seat and took off my helmet and looked down at it, with hope that this battle wouldn’t end with my death.

We soon found ourselves going through some sort of jungle area, but it was a lot more dangerous and we were overall rushing to get through the area as fast as possible and to the hideout that Lavertus had found. He was leading everyone to the area which seemed to have been cleared out of any dangerous plant-life from what I heard Lavertus saying as we rushed to the area. This was proven to be fact by the time we reached Crooler’s base, as it seemed most of the surrounding area was chopped down for this base to exist. Laval and I both got out of the tank and walked up to Laval, I placed my helmet on my head again and took a steady breath.

“We all know the plan right?” Lavertus looked at me and Laval, “We all know what’ll happen?”

“Yeah.” I muttered in-between breaths, “Rescue the captives first then find Asriel.”

“That’s right Sho!” Lavertus responded, “This feels like I’m looking in a mirror or something.” I heard Laval laugh while I chuckled. “Sho you wait over there until the battle starts, when you hear Laval roar sneak inside and give the satchel to the captives so they can join the battle. We have spare swords for them.”

“Oh alrighty.” I responded, “I’m gonna get going. Wish me luck I guess.” I waved goodbye to Laval and Lavertus and walked up to the base and stood by the wall. Just waiting. Waiting… I can’t believe I’m about to do this. I thought to myself, I’m about to fight in a battle to try and rescue my best friend. I’m sure Laval has felt these exact feelings when he was battling Cragger but… it hurts. It hurts a lot. I don’t want to hurt Asriel or anyone frankly. I sighed. “I’m really gonna do this aren’t I..?” I muttered to myself before hearing Laval roar. I looked towards the entrance of the base and saw a couple of different animals exit through there, many looked ready to fight in this battle. Once most if not all of them ran past, I slipped in. I didn’t know the general direction but I wandered about just looking for the prisoners. It was taking what felt to be around two hours but soon I came across this prison area, most of the animals in there were in fact lions. Many of whom looked like they haven’t eaten in days, one of them came up to the bars. She looked to be a lioness wearing almost a worn out tunic attire.

“Guys someone’s here!” Rest of the prisoners turned towards me, “Lavertus, you came to help us!”

“Lavertus?” I laughed a tiny bit, “That’s a first.” The lioness looked at me confused, “I’m guessing your Li’ella then?”

“Yeah.” She muttered, “Wait, if you're not Lavertus then who are you?” I took my helmet off and threw it onto the floor.

“I’m Sho Sato.” I said as I took the satchel off my shoulder and handed it to Li’ella “And Laval told me to give this to the prisoners.” I looked as she opened the bag, revealing a blue glow on her face. She looked back up at me as she took one of the orbs.

“Thanks Sho.” She smiled, she plugged the orbs into some sort of chestplate. Then a ginormous version of herself appeared for two seconds then disappeared, revealing that blue glint that Lagravis had. She soon began to pass around the chi.

“Don’t worry, I’ll pick the lock. I ain’t no Akemi but-” Li’ella reached round the lock and with her own hand alone, shattered the lock almost effortlessly, “WHOA-” I gasped. Chi is so powerful, I thought to myself as I placed the helmet back on my head.

“Thanks Sho.” Li’ella said as she ushered all the captives out, “And also, Asriel is somewhere in the base. I don’t know why Crooler decided for him to stay here but I can’t read her mind.”

“Alright. Thanks Li’ella.” I muttered as I ran, looking for Asriel. I placed a hand on my sword, my nerves were getting the better of me again. I heard footsteps behind me and turned around as I unsheath my sword. Only to be face-to-face with Asriel.

“Sho. What are you doing here?” He asked as he summoned a chaos sabre, I looked at his eyes and that red glow was still there. He was still under the control of the persuader plants.

“I’ve come looking for you!” I responded, my voice began to tremble, “Asriel this isn’t who you are man!”

“It is and we both know it.” He answered threateningly as I took the helmet off as Asriel seemingly knew it was me, “This is my destiny! To always be some sort of antagonist.”

“Asriel we both know that isn’t true” I shouted, “You aren’t a bad person man!”. Asriel began charging at me as the chaos sabre and sword connected making a silencing clashing sound.

“You lie Sho!” He shouted at me, “Crooler’s right all you do is lie your way out of things!”

“I-” I was astounded, Crooler made up these things about me not only to keep Asriel in her little trap but to also try and push me away. I, however, stayed firm and kept Laval’s words in my head. “Water is like friendship, it only pulls you down when you fight it.” I looked at Asriel, “Asriel that’s Crooler getting to you man! Don’t let her!”

“You're lying to me again?!” Asriel grabbed my neck and held me up in the air, “You're just a pathetic liar Sho. And I don’t need that.” Asriel gripped tightly on my neck, I was sure he was going to choke me out if I didn’t say anything.

“Asriel…I’ve spoken to your parents.” I muttered. “What..?” He dropped me as my sword fell on the floor next to me, “You're lying again.”

“Would I lie about this though?” I asked him, “Asriel, our realm and chima are connected and gaster used a signal booster to contact me.” I could tell Asriel was thinking.

“Sho….” I looked in his eyes, as I saw the red glow flicker.

“Asriel I get that you miss your family.” I said, standing up as I took deep breaths, “I miss mine too. And they certainly miss us, so please Asriel…fight Crooler’s control.” I could tell Asriel was fighting the control of Crooler and honestly I was scared, all my defences were down and one good slash at my chest could kil me.

“Sho…” Asriel muttered as the red glow in his eyes disappeared, “Sho what have I done…?” I hugged Asriel as I began to cry. To be honest I’m not the one that’s supposed to be crying but this is the first time in what four days I’m actually talking to Asriel. The Asriel I know, and frankly I was happy I had someone who I considered my brother back.

“I sososo sorry Asriel!” I wept into his shoulder, “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you I’m sorry for causing any of this!”

“Sho..” Asriel hugged me, “None of this is your fault. I honestly don’t blame you for anything.” He then looked at what I was wearing, “What are you wearing?” He asked.

“Something that Lavertus made for today…” I muttered with a slight smile.

“Well it fits nicely” Asriel complimented as he stopped embracing me.

“Asriel what are you doing?” I heard a voice and turned to the direction of it. Crooler. “Asriel you were meant to kill him, not hug him. Are you insane?” stepped in front of Asriel.

“What is your problem?” I asked, trying to keep myself from punching her, “Why are you like this man?!”

“It’s my destiny!” She responded, snapping her jaw at me, “It’s my destiny to control all of chima!”

“You shouldn’t put all your hopes into destiny!” I answered back, “Destiny can be changed and or be wrong all-together depending on the interpretation!”

“Wrong…?” Crooler muttered. I can tell she was confused.

“Look Crooler, I know what you went through.” I said with a tremble in my voice. I could sympathise with her. “And I get it. I also wasn’t given the best hand at life, but I didn’t make it my whole personality and based my aspirations on it. Our childhoods don’t dictate who we are.” I can tell she was thinking.

“But…I…” She shuddered, “This is all I’ve known!” She snapped at me, “All I know is neglect and favouritism towards Cragger!”

“And I get that it sucks Crooler.” I said bluntly, “And blame your actions on Cragger, on Crominus and Crunket. I don’t care. But all of this, that’s your choice my friend!” I could tell Crooler was thinking, and I didn’t blame her. She just had her entire philosophy and motives broken down by a random sixteen year-old human.

“Into the fort!” I heard Lavertus’ voice and me and Asriel turned our heads in the direction of it. However when we both turned our heads back to Crooler. She had vanished, I didn’t know what to say. I just wiped my eyes of any emotions I had and just looked at Asriel. 

“We should probably find Laval.” I muttered, as we both began walking.

“Yeah..” Asriel responded. We both exited the base as celebrations occurred. Crominus and Crunket both walked up to me and Asriel.

“Is Crooler with you two?” Asked Crunket with concern, “Is she alright?”

“No she isn’t.” I responded, “She actually disappeared, we didn’t see where she went. And FYI, you two need to stop playing favourites and love your children equally. Cause that's what motivated Crooler.” Me and Asriel walked away to find Laval and Cragger, leaving Crominus and Crunket rather shocked at my response.

“Asriel you're alright!” Cragger shouted, walking up to us both with Laval following behind. “And not too injured I see too!”

“Yeah. Sho didn’t put up much of a fight really.” He responded, “I just want to go back to the lion temple..”

“Right.” Laval answered, “We’re all about to begin heading back anyways if you two want to hop into the lion tank.”

“Wait before you do.” Cragger tapped my shoulder, “How’s Crooler..?” I looked at Cragger.

“She’s…alright I think. She disappeared.”

“Alright…” Cragger sighed regretfully and let me, Asriel and Laval walk to the lion tank. Laval and I helped Asriel into the lion tank as we both got in. Laval started driving the tank as sat next to him. I looked at Asriel who looked overall worn out and decided to take a photo of him to send to Gaster.

3pm Sho sent a photo. Sho: Too tired to call but Asriel’s alright. Gaster: Okay Sho. I’ll tell Toriel, Asgore and Frisk immediately. The machine needs at least a day of charge before we can get you two home. Sho: Alright Gaster. See you tomorrow.

“Asriel we have one more day here before we can go home.” I muttered, looking at him.

“Alright.” He responded briefly before resting his head. I decided to do the same, resting my head on Laval’s shoulder.

“That was so scary…” I muttered as I yawned.

“Don’t worry Sho it’s over.” Laval responded almost parent-like, “I’m proud of you man. It's not everyday a kid can just rescue his best friend like that. That's honestly something you should be proud of Sho.”

“Thanks Laval.” I answered as I gradually fell asleep, with a smile. Which frankly hasn’t happened in awhile, just knowing Asriel was safe and that I would be going home soon gave me something I haven't felt since Asriel got kidnapped.

This chapter actually came out quite nicely, even though it is a bit Steven Universe-Esque. I wanna focus on one specific part of the chapter actually, the moment between Laval and Sho actually not the fight itself between Asriel and Sho (even though I think it came out quite nicely as it showed Sho's almost inability to fight his friends.). Throughout the past couple of chapters I've been building up Sho and Laval's friendship but realised they only really had one moment togehter, that being chapter 3. And I didn't have a somewhat decent way to peak their relationship so I wrote this moment where Sho actually opens up a bit to Laval. And even though it's short I absolutely love it, two characters who I think are too kind for their own good (I'll develop Sho more in Halcyontale btw dw abt it) that are so similar yet different. Just opening up to eachother. Laval opens up about S1 and Sho opens up about his worries about Asriel, it all works nicely!

Bibliography for my term paper on evolutionary studies of homosexuality

A large part of this paper was critiquing how these studies were being done, and that included citing some pretty egregious examples of using out of date and discriminatory language. Some of those words are included in the titles. Please take care of yourself when reading these. 1. One Piece (1999)

One Piece es la historia donde un joven llamado Monkey D. Luffy que quiere ser coronado como el “Rey de los Piratas”. Se remonta a lo más antiguo de la era de los piratas en donde Monkey quiere hacerse dueño de un legendario tesoro llamado “One Piece”.

One Piece está basado en el manga escrito e ilustrado por Eiichiro Oda. Actualmente cuenta con más de 929 episodios y continua en emisión. Entre sus géneros destacan la acción, la aventura y la fantasía. Sin duda, una obra que se deja querer y cuenta con sus años de historia. ¡Es uno de los mejores animes del momento!

2. Fullmetal Alchemist (2003)

Fullmetal Alchemist ha sido creado por Hiromu Arakawa. Se inició como un manga del género de aventura, fantasía, ciencia y ficción. Posee dos partes en anime, la primera se televisó de la mano de Seiji Mizushima y la segunda por parte de Yasuhiro Irie.

Se basa en un estilo steampunk que simula la revolución industrial. Dentro de esta serie se encuentra un universo ficticio. En donde la alquimia se usa como técnica más avanzada conocida por el hombre. La historia cuenta con los hermanos Edward y Alphonse Elric. Su objetivo se centra en buscar una restauración de sus cuerpos a través de la piedra filosofal. 

3. Dragon Ball Z (1986)

La primera publicación de Dragon Ball Z se hizo en 1984 y se hizo en la revista Shonen Jump. Nació como un manga creado por Akira Toriyama. Esta historia conocida por muchos, incluye a Goku y sus aventuras. Este es un guerrero saiyajin cuyo propósito es tratar de proteger la tierra.

El planeta se ha visto asechado por seres que la quieren conquistar. Y sumergirla en un exterminio total de la humanidad. En el año de 1986 pasó a ser un anime dirigido por Minoru Okazaki en los estudios de Toei Animation. 

Contó con 153 episodios, un número bajo en comparación con el manga que contó con 519 capítulos. Sin embargo, Okazaki estructuró el anime en tres secciones donde pudo mostro todo el contenido original del manga. Luego de esto fue ampliando la serie hasta crear Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Z Kai y Dragon Ball Super.

4. Naruto (2002)

Originalmente Naruto se lanzó como un manga en el año 1999. Ha sido creado por Masashi Kishimoto. Para el año de 2002 se lanza como un anime y se transmite por TV Tokio. Su director, Hayato Date creó 220 episodios de esta serie. 

Este anime trata sobre un ninja adolescente llamado Naruto Uzumaki. Él busca convertirse en un Hokage. Es una especie de líder de aldea. Su propósito es lograr el reconocimiento de alguien importante para su comunidad. Es reconocido como uno de los mejores animes a nivel mundial. 

5. Naruto: Shippuden (2007)

Es la secuela de Naruto. Se basa en el relato original de la historia extraído del volumen 28. Allí se narra el regreso de Naruto a su aldea. Esto, tras dos años y medio de entrenamiento con Jiraiya.

Al llegar se reúne con sus viejos amigos en busca de crear el grupo de los 7. Este equipo ha sido renombrado y ahora lleva el nombre de “Equipo Kakashi”. 

En esta parte, todos, incluyendo a Naruto, poseen un nivel mayor de madurez. Allí ya ha aprendido a controlar el chakra del Kyubi. Su estreno se hizo el 15 de febrero de 2007 en TV Tokio. Se compone de 40 episodios. 

6. One-Punch Man (2015)

Nació como un web comic manga el 3 de julio de 2009. Luego se hizo un remake en el año 2012 y para el año 2015 se lanza como anime a través de TV Tokio. Su creador original ha sido por el dibujante japonés cuyo seudónimo es One.

Se trata de una ciudad en Japón llamada Z, cuya metrópolis ficticia desencadena hechos extraños. Hay monstruos que causan desastres en la ciudad. Para detenerlos aparece Saitana, un superhéroe muy poderoso quien derrota el mal con solo un golpe de su puño. Cuenta con 12 episodios y desde 2017 está disponible en Netflix.

Esta historia cuenta con grandes dosis de comedia. Cada uno de sus personajes le aporta un toque especial a la trama. No faltarán las risas, por eso, este es uno de los mejores animes del momento. ¡Tiene segunda temporada y dos OVAs!

7. Death Note (2006)

La historia narra la vida de un estudiante de secundaria llamado Light Yagami. Un día se topa con un cuaderno que contenía poderes sobrenaturales. Este se titula “Death Note”.

El libro tiene el poder de matar a personas únicamente escribiendo su nombre en este. Sin embargo, para que esto tenga efecto se debe conocer el rostro del individuo en cuestión.  

Con este poder, Light trata de eliminar a los peligrosos delincuentes que azotan la ciudad. Sin embargo, sus planes se verán frustrados por un detective llamado “L”. ¿Cuál de los dos ganará esta guerra de ingenio? 

Una historia que atrapará tanto a jóvenes como adultos. Este sin duda, debe estar entre tu lista de vistos. Es uno de los mejores animes de misterio. Cada episodio te envuelve. Tiene 37 episodios y dos especiales. 

8. Attack on Titan ǀ Shingeki no Kyojin (2009)

Cuenta con 25 episodios más 8 OVAs. Trata sobre un mundo completamente devastado, tras el ataque de un grupo de gigantes que han devorado a la población del planeta.

Sin embargo, algunos sobrevivientes han logrado crear un espacio seguro rodeados de una gran muralla. Todo cambia cuanto un titán gigantesco crea una grieta enorme en la misma, permitiendo el paso de otros titanes. La vida de Eren Jaeger, no será la misma tras eso. 

¿Por qué este es uno de los mejores animes? Batallas alucinantes, excelente animación, una banda sonora increíble y una trama sólida basada en el manga de Hajime Isayama. Si aún no lo has visto, debes hacerlo sí o sí. 

9. Cowboy Bebop (1998)

Esta serie japonesa es muy diferente al resto. Fue creada con escenas cinematográficas, con colores de alto impacto y una banda sonora muy impresionante. Se produjo el 3 de abril de 1998 de la mano de la empresa Sunrise. Dirigido por Shinichiro Watanabe y escrito por Keiko Nobumoto.

Este anime narra la historia de un equipo de cazadores de recompensas. Se desarrolló en un futuro en donde la raza humana se ha ubicado en diferentes planetas del universo. El grupo navega por el universo a través de una nave llamada Bebop. En ella están Spike, Jet, Valentine, Ed y Ein. Su objetivo es perseguir a los malos y en cada episodio el tema es diferente.

El éxito de este anime ha originado el desarrollo de dos series de manga, videojuegos, películas y un proyecto en imagen real. Sin duda, se trata de uno de los mejores animes de todos los tiempos. 

10. Pokémon (1997)

Esta serie ha sido creada por Satoshi Tajiri, Ken Sugimori, Game Freak y la empresa Nintendo. Este equipo organizó para crear una de las sagas de más interesantes del mundo anime. Se llamaba originalmente Pocket Monster, de allí se abrevió y ahora se conoce como Pokémon.

Su popularidad trascendió a tal punto de crear un mercado global sobre esta marca. Desde juguetes, ropa, utensilios, figuras y más. Para el 1 de diciembre de 2006 ya Pokémon había alcanzado 340 millones de ejemplares vendidos en videojuegos.

Pokémon trata sobre otra especie animal. Estos tienen poderes y son entrenados para batallar en una lucha entre pokémons. Los entrenadores viajan por el mundo ganando medallas en cada combate, en donde su principal protagonista es Pikachu. ¿Uno de los mejores animes? Claro que sí. 

11. Hunter x Hunter (1999)

Es un título que se basa en la historia creada por Yoshihiro Togashi. En ella el protagonista es un niño de 12 años llamado Gon Freecss. Su objetivo es encontrar a su padre por lo que toma la decisión de convertirse en cazador. Durante la historia, Gon va conociendo nuevos amigos que lo ayudarán en su aventura. 

Actualmente cuenta con 62 capítulos que se transmitieron por Fuji TV en entre octubre-1999 y marzo-2001. También contó con un OVA de 30 episodios y una adaptación que buscó ser más fiel al manga. La misma, fue emitida en el 2011 y tiene 148 episodios. Uno de los mejores animes, sin lugar a dudas. 

12. Code Geass (2006)

Es un anime desarrollado por los estudios Sunrise. Dirigido por Goro Taniguchi y escrito por Ichiro Okouchi. Este producto se estrenó el 5 de octubre de 2006 bajo una primera temporada. Ha sido licenciada por varios países. 

Su segunda temporada se estrenó el 27 de noviembre de 2016 y se tituló Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch R2. Este anime trata sobre una guerra declarada a Japón la cual perdió. Esto de la mano del Sacro Imperio de Britannia en donde se activaron cuerpos robóticos para ganar la pelea.

Esto originó que Japón perdiera su libertad y derechos, incluso su nombre, pasando a ser ahora el “Área 11”. Sus habitantes son llamados “Elevens”. El protagonista, tiene como objetivo destruir Britania para así vengarse por la muerte de su madre. Ideal para los amantes de la acción y las tramas psicológicas. 

13. Code Geass: Lelouch of the rebellion R2 (2008)

Continuamos con Code Geass, pero esta vez con la segunda parte. Y es que se necesitaba más de uno de los mejores animes del 2006. Esta continuación fue emitida por primera vez en el 2008 y contó con 26 episodios. 

Aquí el protagonista, Lelouch vi Britania parece no recordar su pasado y lleva una vida normal. La rebelión negra fue suprimida y su cabecilla Zero está desaparecido. Aunque muchos intuyen que está muerto. Sin embargo, tengamos en cuenta que Zero es la identidad enmascarada del protagonista. ¿Regresará este con su rebelión?  

14. Bleach (2004)

Aquí nos adentramos en la historia de Ichigo Kurosaki, un joven de 15 años de edad que absorbe poderes, de forma accidental, de una shinigami. Al obtener estas habilidades, tiene como misión guiar y proteger a los espíritus. 

El anime cuenta con 366 episodios y fue finalizado en el año 2012. Cuenta con muchos seguidores y hasta el día de hoy sigue marcando una pauta. Por esta razón, es uno de los mejores animes del momento. Cada arco y cada escena de acción son increíbles. 

15. Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995)

Se le conoce como Evangelion y es una serie anime creada por los estudios Gainax. Fue dirigida por Hideaki Anno. Si eres amante del anime, mejor dicho, si te consideras un buen otaku, esta obra debe estar en tu lista de “vistos”. Ten presente que es considerado como uno de los mejores animes de todos los tiempos. 

Cuenta con 26 episodios. Los mismos fueron transmitidos entre octubre de 1995 y marzo de 1996. Sin embargo, el manga de Evangelion se mostró en 1994 creado por Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. Esta es considerada una de las producciones anime más grandes del mundo.

La historia es profunda y compleja, se desarrolla en un mundo futurista donde los ángeles parecen querer acabar con todo. En medio de todo esto, se conforma un equipo denominado NERV los cuales pilotan unidades robóticas para combatir a los ángeles.  

16. Baccano (2007)

Este anime sabe enmarañar varias historias hasta convertirlas en una sola. Lo curioso, es que no hay un solo protagonista, cuenta con distintos personajes que lograrán atraparte a su modo. La trama se desarrolla a finales de los años 30. Cuenta con 13 episodios y 3 OVAs. 

Si vas a ver Bacanno ten presente que para darle un buen cierre tienes que ver los OVAs, es en estos donde todo queda mejor explicado. En resumen, la historia se centra en alquimistas que buscan la inmortalidad, pero a la vez resaltan otros sucesos como la lucha de bandas. ¿Uno de los mejores animes? Claro. 

17. Claymore (2007)

Es un anime de 26 episodios que te atrapará desde el primer minuto. Se basa en la historia de Clare, una Claymore. Ella, cuenta con dotes increíbles de lucha y debe ir de pueblo en pueblo para derrotar distintos monstruos. Las escenas de acción son impecables y en cada arco nos presentan nuevos personajes. 

Por eso, y por ser muy fiel al manga, esta historia se encuentra entre nuestro top de los mejores animes. La animación es muy buena y tiene sus dosis de momentos emotivos y luchas alucinantes. Eso sí, todos los seguidores recomiendan leer el manga. 

18. Yu-gi-oh! (2000)

¿Quién no conoce este anime? Es probable que lo hayas conocido en tu infancia o en tu adolescencia. Y si no lo viste, quizá seguro conociste a alguien que jugaba o coleccionaba las famosas cartas del duelo de monstruos. Acompaña a Yugi Muto en esta segunda adaptación del manga. 

Cuenta con 224 episodios en los que encontrarás acción, aventura, comedia y drama. En el camino Yugi participa en distintos torneos y hace grandes amigos. En medio de eso, se presentarán distintos giros y arcos que te robarán el aliento. ¿Este entra en los mejores animes? ¡Obvio! 

19. Steins; Gate (2011)

Nació como un videojuego para Xbox 360 de una novela visual japonesa. También tuvo versiones para Windows (2010) y para Playstation portable (2011). Fue desarrollado por el equipo de ADV Stoi Kagaku. El juego se desarrolla bajo un esquema de decisiones no lineales con múltiples finales.

Se basa en una historia en donde Rintaro Okabe y sus amigos, encuentran una manera de enviar mensajes al pasado. Sin embargo, a medida que ahondan en esta cuestión comienzan a ser perseguidos por una organización secreta. ¿Evitarán ser capturados? Uno de los mejores animes que debes ver. 

20. Soul Eater (2008)

Soul Eater no podía faltar en nuestro top de los mejores animes de la historia. Cuenta con una historia sólida y con 51 episodios que no te puedes perder. Fue emitido por primera vez en el 2008. La trama transcurre en instituto Shibusen. 

En otras palabras es una escuela para técnicos de armas de Shinigami. Sus estudiantes tienen como objetivo conseguir que sus armas ingieran 99 almas de personas malvadas. Pero no solo eso, también deberán capturar el alma de una bruja. Solo así podrán llegar a ser un Death Scythe. Pero, ¿Lo lograrán? 

21. Detective Conan (1994)

Detective Conan es un anime que cuenta 974 episodios y que sigue en emisión en la actualidad. Está basado en el manga escrito e ilustrado por Gosho Aoyama. ¿De qué trata? De Sinichi, un famoso detective de 17 años que tiene gran éxito con todos sus casos. 

Sin embargo, su vida cambia cuando sigue a un par de hombres sospechosos quienes tras percatarse de este hecho lo envenenan. Cuando pensaba que iba a morir, Sinichi despierta descubriendo que se encogió hasta quedar como un niño de siete años. Esto en vez de detenerlo, lo lleva a tomar una nueva identidad para seguir resolviendo casos.  

22. Psycho Pass (2012)

Esta es una obra maestra sin lugar a dudas. Es uno de los mejores animes de todos los tiempos. Te mantiene al borde del asiento cuando lo ves. Se ambienta en un mundo futurista en el que se puede medir el estado mental de una persona. Incluso, este puede definir los cargos laborales. 

Gracias a este escáner, se puede detectar a los posibles delincuentes, pero ¿Realmente es una bendición? Aquí nos adentramos en la mente de una serie de personajes que sabrán atraparnos. Cuenta con 22 episodios y una trama que se irá desarrollando en cada capítulo. Al final, puede que te cueste identificar quiénes son los malos y quiénes los buenos. 

23. Berserk (1997)

Es una manga creada por Kentaro Miura. Se adaptó al anime bajo un estilo épico fantasioso oscuro. ¿Uno de los mejores animes de la época? Sí, aunque resalta por tener un toque bastante oscuro. Algunas de sus escenas son fuertes y puede que ter perturben un poco, sin embargo eso es lo que lo hace único. 

El anime cuenta con 25 episodios. Sigue las aventuras de Guts un mercenario tuerto que caza demonios. Tras conocer a Griffith, forma parte de su banda y desarrolla sentimientos por sus compañeros. Estos se convierten en una especie de familia. Sin embargo, la historia tomará un giro imprevisto cuando su mejor amigo sea la persona que le cause más daño. 

24. Monster (1997)

Se basa en una serie de manga escrita e ilustrada por Naoki Urasawa. Nació en 1994 en la revista Big Comic Spirits allí se compilaron los 18 volúmenes. En el año de 1997 se hace el anime con 64 episodios. 

Esta serie narra la historia de un neurocirujano llamado Kenzo Tenma. El mismo, se encontraba descontento con las políticas en el hospital donde trabajaba. Un día, decide poner la vida de un niño por encima de la de un político de renombre. 

Lo que pareció un hecho basado en su descontento, fue el punto de origen de una serie de crímenes que se desarrollarían más adelante. Resulta, que el pequeño al que Tenma salvó se convirtió en un asesino en serie. Pero no solo eso, una serie de sucesos llevarán al protagonista a tener que involucrarse en todo este asunto. Una joya de los mejores animes psicológicos. 

25.-Rebuild of Evangelion (2007)

Esta es una serie de películas que son catalogadas como el remake del anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. En el caso de la primera película, es una adaptación bastante fiel de los seis episodios del anime. Sin embargo, deja de lado factores psicológicos para centrarse más en las luchas y la acción. 

La segunda película llegó en 2009 y por el camino que siguió se ve que han buscado seguir un camino alternativo. Es decir, con guiones completamente nuevos que no se apegan al anime original. Pero, eso no le quita mérito y se convierte en un largometraje animado digno de disfrutar. Al igual que la tercera película y una cuarta que actualmente tiene un retraso indefinido. 

26. Samurai Champloo (2004)

Es un anime desarrollado por los estudios Manglobe. Se realizó con un gran equipo como el director Shinichiro Watanabe y el diseñador de personajes Kazuto Nakazawa. También participó Mahiro Maeda, diseñador mecánico. 

Este anime ha sido el segundo trabajo de Watanabe desde pues de Cowboy Bebop. La serie se hizo con 26 episodios y se transmitió en Japón el 20 de mayo de 2004 a través de Fuji TV. 

Esta historia está ambientada en una versión ficticia del periodo Edo en Japón.. Gira en torno a Mugen quien se describe como: imprudente, libertino y espadachín vago. 

También está Jin, un estoico ronin y Fuu una intrépida joven quien solicita a los dos personajes su acompañamiento para encontrar al samurái japonés con olor a girasol. Ha sido todo un éxito esta saga de anime y por eso está en nuestra lista de los mejores animes de la historia. 

27. Gurren Lagann (2007)

Su nombre completo es Tangen Toppa Gurren-Lagann. Es un anime creado por Hiroyuki Imaishi. Se transmitió por primera vez en el año 2007 a través de TV Tokio. Tiene dos películas recopilatorias lanzadas en 2008 y 2009 respectivamente. En la primera había escenas de animación muy novedosas. La segunda, ha sido el final del anime.

Se ambienta en un futuro donde la tierra tiene por líder al Rey Espiral, llamado Lord Genome. Este obliga a los habitantes a vivir en el subsuelo. Allí la condición es de alto riesgo. Ante esto, un joven excavador llamado Simón se une a su amigo Kamina para tratar de subir a la superficie esta civilización.

28. Ergo Proxy (2006)

Una serie de anime del género ciencia ficción, que involucra temas de cyberpunk y psicología. Fue producida por los estudios Manglobe y dirigida por Shuko Murase. La serie la ha escrito Dai Sato y se transmitió por primera vez el 25 de febrero de 2006. 

Fueron 23 episodios. En 2007 llegó a los Estados Unidos y se transmitió por Fuse TV. También llegó a mercados australianos, británicos y canadienses. Ergo Proxy trata sobre una ciudad llamada Romdeau.

La misma, había sido construida con el fin de proteger a los habitantes de la tierra. Esto, tras una enorme catástrofe que los abatió. A pesar de ser una ciudad utópica llena de paz, comienzan a generarse hechos violentos.

29. Rurouni Kenshin ǀ Samurái X (1996)

Este anime cuenta con 95 episodios y fue emitido por primera vez en el año 1996. Su historia está basada en el manga de Nobuhiro Watsuki. En esta acompañamos a Kenshin, un experto samurái que durante un tiempo de su vida fue el asesino más famoso de todos los tiempos. 

Sin embargo, con el paso del tiempo él desapareció y buscó continuar con su vida bajo el anonimato. Por lo cual, se convirtió en un mendigo que busca hacer el bien. Además, se hizo la promesa de no volver a matar a nadie. A lo largo del anime, conoceremos su historia, la cual, seguro te llegará al alma. Sin duda, uno de los mejores animes shonen. 

30. Ouran Highschool Host Club (2006)

La serie está basada en una estudiante becada de nombre Haruchi Fujioka. Ella entra en la prestigiosa academia Ouran. Toca temas cómicos de cómo se relaciona la joven dentro y fuera de la institución. A su vez, hace chistes satíricos y estereotipados del manga shojo.

Todo inicia cuando nuestra protagonista de forma accidental rompe un jarrón del selecto grupo de anfitriones de dicha academia. Resulta, que el costo de tal objeto es sumamente costoso y ella deberá formar parte de los anfitriones a modo de pago. Lo divertido, será que por su apariencia ellos la confundirán con un chico y eso generará momentos alucinantes. 

31. Kimi ni Todoke (2009)

Si te gustan las historias románticas este es uno de los mejores animes que puedes ver. Nos muestra un amor que se va desarrollando de forma lenta, pero súper tierna. En 25 episodios acompañaremos a Sawako, quien sufre en la soledad porque sus compañeros de clases le tienen miedo por su similitud física con la chica de “El Aro”. 

Todo comienza a cambiar cuando el chico más popular de la clase, Shouta, habla con ella. Pero no solo eso, él la anima y la apoya para que ella pueda relacionarse con los otros. Aquí es donde va aflorando un amor dulce, lento y maravilloso. 

32. Doraemon (1969)

La historia se centra en el gato cósmico Doraemon. El mismo, es enviado al pasado para ayudar al joven Sewashi Nobi. ¿La razón? Mejorar la vida de su tatarabuelo y que los descendientes de este tengan un futuro mejor. Sin duda, se trata de una trama muy entretenida de ver, además tiene sus dosis de comedia. 

Contó con una primera adaptación en el año 1973. Sin embargo, la que tuvo mayor repercusión fue la segunda emitida en 1979. ¿Sabes cuántos episodios tiene? 1787. La tercera adaptación, la cual vio la luz en el año 2005 cuenta con más de 950 episodios. 

33. Inuyasha (2000)

Esta historia se basa en el manga escrito e ilustrado por Rumiko Takahashi. Se adaptó al anime por Yasunao Aoki y Massahi Ileda. Se ambienta en Japón, en el periodo Sengoku. En 167 episodios, podrás vivir las aventuras de Inuyasha y Ahome. 

Este anime tiene aventura, comedia, romance, acción y una historia bastante sólida. Eso es lo que atrapa de Inuyusha, que tiene un poco de todo y por esta razón, conquista a más personas. 34. Tokyo Ghoul (2015)

Tokyo Ghoul es un anime que te atrapa desde el primer episodio. Podríamos catalogarlo de gore, puesto que tiene algunas escenas fuertes. Entonces, si te gusta la acción y una temática algo oscura, esta historia es para ti. En primera instancia, nos presentan a Kaneki. 

Este joven se enamora a primera vista de una hermosa mujer. Resulta que decide acompañarla puesto que las calles son inseguras, pero cuando están solos, él se percata de que ella es un Ghoul. Ella intenta comérselo, pero el protagonista se salva por suerte, aunque queda moribundo. De allí en adelante, descubre que para salvarlo tuvieron que ponerle órganos de su atacante. 

35. Violet Evergarden (2018)

Es una serie de novelas ligeras de origen japonés que han sido escritas por Kana Akatsuki. Su ilustración estuvo a cargo de Akiko Takase. Estas novelas han sido galardonadas en la 5ta entrega de los premios Kyoto Animation Awards 2014. Ganó en tres categorías como son novela, escenario y manga.

Se hizo una adaptación al anime en enero de 2018. Tuvo una película animada en septiembre de 2019 que se estrenó en abril de 2020 en Netflix. Este es uno de los mejores animes emotivos que puedes ver. La historia se centra en Violet, una joven que fue usada como un arma de guerra. 

Cuando los enfrentamientos terminan, queda sola en el mundo pues la persona encargada de ella está muerta. De allí en adelante, Violet está en la búsqueda del significado de las últimas palabras que le dijo su “Mayor”. Lo que él dijo fue “Te amo”. 

36. Anohana (2011)

Su nombre completo es Ano Hi Mita Hana No Namae wo Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai. Se traduce al español como “Aún no sabemos el nombre de la flor que vimos aquel día”. Se abrevia AnoHana es un anime producido por A-1 Pictures. Dirigido por Tatsuyuki Nagai.

Se basa en la infancia de un grupo de amigos quienes se distancian tras un fatídico accidente. En este pierde la vida Menma. El personaje principal es Jinta el cual, un día ve a su amiga Menma. Su espíritu, apareció frente a él para que la ayude a cumplir una promesa que todos hicieron antes de que ella muriese. 

37. Monogatari (2006)

Monogatari significa “Historias” y se ha desarrollado de una serie de novelas ligeras japonesas escritas por Nisio Isin. Las ilustraciones han corrido por cuenta de Vofan. Las novelas han tenido varias adaptaciones.  

Empecamos con Bakenomogatari que se estrenó el 31 de diciembre de 2014 conformada por 4 capítulos. Se transmitió en un especial de 2 horas. La adaptación del anime Owarimonogatari se hizo el 3 de octubre de 2015. En enero de 2016 se estrenó otra adaptación llamada Koyomimonogatari. 

Esta historia se basa en Koyomi Araragi, un estudiante de tercer año. Este forma parte de un instituto de humanos tras haber sido un vampiro por largo tiempo. Este joven se ve sorprendido por Hitagi Senjougahara, quien cae sobre sus brazos y nota que no pesa nada. 

38. Clannad (2007)

Narra la historia de un joven llamado Okazaki Tomoya. Quien pierde a su madre y es cuidado por su padre. Ante tan difícil situación su único protector se vuelve alcohólico y apostador. Esto hace que el protagonista trate de frecuentar su casa lo menos posible y tenga una personalidad algo melancólica. 

Un día, conoce a Furukawa, una joven que lo ayudará a cambiar su modo de ver el mundo. En 23 episodios, conoceremos también a otros personajes. Este es uno de los mejores animes de la historia porque aflora muchos sentimientos. También, te garantiza que vas a soltar una lágrima sí o sí. 

39. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (2019)

Su adaptación al anime se produjo por el estudio Ufotable. Se estrenó en abril de 2019 y finalizó en septiembre del mismo año. En su último episodio se reveló una escena inédita en el arco Mugen Ressha. Si quieres ver uno de los mejores animes más recientes, este es uno.

Kimetsu no Yaiba lo tiene todo. Escenas con una animación increíble, acción, aventura, drama, comedia y hasta su ligero toque de romance. Acompaña a Tanjiro en la búsqueda de encontrar una cura para su hermana. ¿Qué le pasó? Esta fue atacada por un demonio y se ha convertido en uno.  ¡Recomendado 100%!

40. Sakura Card Captors (2000)

Este anime consta de 70 episodios. Tiene grandes dosis de comedia, aventura y romance. Su estilo es shojo. ¿De qué va la historia? Se trata de una pequeña llamada Sakura quien por error libera unas cartas que se encontraban en un libro. 

El guardián de dicho libro, le dice que por haber liberado las cartas será su misión recuperarlas. Sakura, adquiere algunas habilidades especiales que le ayudarán a enfrentarse a cada carta. Este es uno de los mejores animes de la historia porque conecta con toda una generación. 

41. Trigun (1998)

Se transmitió en TV Tokyo en abril de 1998 finalizando en septiembre del mismo año. Se hicieron 26 episodios y una película animada titulada “Trigun: Badlands Rumble” que se lanzó en abril de 2010. Si te gustan las escenas de acción en un ambiente futurista, pero a la vez inspirado en el viejo oeste, Trigun es para ti. 

En los 26 episodios conocerás a Vash la Estampida, quien vive en un constante duelo con su hermano Knives. Este anime tiene un estilo propio que lo hace diferente y único. Por eso, es una joya recomendada en el mundo de los otakus. 

42. Parasite (2014)

Es un manga escrito e ilustrado por Hitoshi Iwaaki. Se publicó por primera vez en 1988 en la revista Afternoon hasta 1995. En 2014 y 2015 se hicieron adaptaciones de películas live action en los estudios Toho, Japón.

El anime se basa en la historia de Shin’ichi Izumi, un adolescente de 17 años que vive con sus padres. Una noche llegan unos gusanos que salen de la tierra y se alojan del cerebro de los humanos. 

Estos entran en las cavidades y se hacen huéspedes de ellos. Sin embargo, como el protagonista tiene audífonos, el parásito que intenta poseerlo no puede entrar por sus oídos. Entonces, lo hace en su mano. ¿Qué sucede al final? Ambos terminan cohabitando en el mismo cuerpo y tendrán que sobrevivir juntos. 

43. Boku No Hero (2016)

Este es un anime que cuenta con cuatro temporadas. La primera fue emitida en el año 2016 y cuenta con 13 episodios. La segunda, la tercera y la cuarta tienen 25 episodios cada una. Si te gusta la aventura, la acción y los dramas escolares Boku No Hero es para ti. 

Toda la trama se desarrolla en un mundo donde la mayoría de las personas tienen poderes, o mejor dicho, dones. Nuestro protagonista, forma parte de un grupo desafortunado que nace sin poderes. Sin embargo, el sueño de este es convertirse en un gran héroe y esta determinación logra que otros deseen ayudarlo. 

44. Sazae-San (1946)

Este anime cuenta con el record Guinness por ser el más longevo de todos los tiempos. ¿Te haces una idea de cuántos episodios tiene? Preparate, porque tiene nada más y nada menos que 8100 episodios. Se basa en el manga que lleva el mismo nombre creado por Machiko Hasegawa. 

Esta es una historia de comedia donde no podremos evitar encariñarnos con Sazae-San, quien es una mujer de pensamientos vanguardistas. Con ella, veremos de primera mano a una familia moderna de Japón. Además, atravesará por situaciones jocosas, como por ejemplo cuando forme parte de un grupo de Feministas. ¿Uno de los mejores animes de todos los tiempos? Por supuesto. 

45. Skip Beat! (2002)

Este anime les encantará a todas aquellas mujeres amantes del josei. Tenemos a una protagonista quien da todo para que su amigo alcance la fama, pero termina decepcionada cuando se da cuenta de que él solo la ve como una esclava. Aquí llega el momento en el que nuestra heroína busca reinventarse. 

Es genial porque se trata de una historia cómica, de superación y con sus buenas dosis de romance. Resulta, que nuestra protagonista incursionará en el mundo de la actuación para demostrarse que ella si vale. En el proceso, conocerá a personas que la ayudarán y la inspirarán. Tiene 25 episodios. 

46. Lovely Complex (2007)

Lovely Complex es una historia que nos muestra que cuando se trata de amor, no importa la apariencia. En especial, el tamaño. Con 24 episodios nos sumerge en la historia de Risa y Otani. Ella alta y el bajito. Al principio, parecen detestarse, pero luego trabajan en conjunto para conquistar a las personas que a cada uno les interesa. 

¿Qué pasa después? Ya te lo imaginarás, comienzan a sentir cosas el uno por el otro. En este punto veremos sus miedos, sus inseguridades y la vergüenza que han experimentado cuando los ven juntos. Más tomando en cuenta porque les hacen muchas bromas con respecto a sus alturas. Si te gusta el romance, debes verlo. 

47. Akame Ga Kill! (2014)

Este es un anime de 24 episodios que vio la luz del sol en el año 2014. Es ideal para los amantes de la acción, el drama, la aventura y la fantasía. La historia se basa en un joven que quiere ganar dinero y llega a la capital con el deseo de formar parte del ejército. 

Sin embargo, una vez allí se da cuenta de que las cosas no eran como él esperaba. Tatsumi, se termina uniendo a un grupo de revolucionarios. A medida que se involucre con estos, les tomará cariño e irá perfeccionando sus habilidades de lucha. Pasará de ser un niño algo miedoso a ser un luchador. 

48. Sailor Moon (1992)

Este anime de 200 episodios recorrió el mundo hasta convertirse en uno de los más conocidos a nivel global. Se basó en el manga shojo escrito e ilustrado por Naoko Takeuchi. Si te gusta el romance, la fantasía, la aventura, el drama y la comedia, esta historia te atrapará. 

En Sailor Moon nos muestran la vida de una joven común y corriente. La misma, es bastante torpe y en ocasiones llorona. Una noche, todo cambia, cuando se topa con un gato negro que tiene una media luna en la frente. El animal, le dice que ella tiene como misión convertirse en Sailor Senshi, quien deberá enfrentarse a las fuerzas del mal haciendo uso de sus poderes. 

49. Kenichi (2002)

Este anime se emitió en el 2006 y contó con 50 episodios. Se trata sobre un joven que sufría de intimidación. Por eso, participa en un dojo en el que hay varios maestros de artes marciales. A lo largo de esta historia con algunos toques de comedia vivirás las aventuras de Kenichi. 

Un punto interesante es que lo acompañarán desde sus 15 años hasta que se hace mayor. Porque sí, es una historia con un final cerrado y que te muestra una cucharada del futuro de Kenichi. En resumen, si te gustan las artes marciales este es uno de los mejores animes para ti. 

50.-Saint Seiya (1985)

Conocida en Hispanoamérica como “Los Caballeros del Zodiaco”. Este anime se basó en el manga escrito e ilustrado por Masami Kurumada. Se publicó por primera vez en diciembre de 1985 en la revista Shukan Shonen Jump hasta diciembre de 1990.

Se adaptó al anime con 114 episodios, un OVA de 31 episodios y un OVA de 13 episodios. En total fueron 158 episodios. Además, cuenta con 5 películas animadas, una de animación CG, varias precuelas y secuelas oficiales de la obra original. 

La historia inicia con el nacimiento de Atenea quien reencarna en un bebé lo que genera que los entes del mal busquen destruir la tierra. El caballero del zodiaco Sagitario para salvarla, se la entrega a un turista japonés. Tiempo después, dicho hombre sería el origen de los nuevos guerreros que deberán proteger a Atenea.

Terza stagione dell’anime prodotto da WIT STUDIO e tratto dal famoso manga di Hajime Isayama, edito in Italia da Planet Manga.

Tutta Le attività al di là delle Mura sono interrotte mentre alcuni soldati armati di pistola chiedono a Eren di consegnarsi. A conoscenza della sua capacità di trasformarsi in un Titano, lo vogliono utilizzare per i propri scopi. Eren dovrà affrontare scelte difficili in questa nuova stagione, alcune cambieranno per sempre il suo destino, altre modificheranno radicalmente la sua percezione del mondo.

Okabe ha fallito. Siamo nella linea di universo β, dove Kurisu Makise non esiste: è morta il 28 Luglio 2010. Di conseguenza, lo scienziato pazzo Kyoma Hooin è svanito, lasciando il posto a un uomo scoraggiato, che fa di tutto per non confrontarsi con i ricordi. A scuoterlo sarà l'incontro con un conoscente di Kurisu. Scoprirà l'esistenza di una macchina in grado di conservare la memoria umana, un sistema per risvegliare ricordi e per avviare una catena di eventi a cui sarà difficile porre rimedio.

La storia narra di Yugi Muto e i suoi amici che sono all’ultimo anno di liceo e stanno decidendo cosa fare in futuro. Nel frattempo Seito Kaiba ha commissionato degli scavi per recuperare i pezzi del Millenium Puzzle, nella speranza di far rivivere l’anima del suo rivale Atem per far aumentare il proprio punteggio. Ma gli scavi vengono interrotti da Diva, che sfida Kaiba a Dual Monsters… Yugi e Kaiba si sono già scontrati diverse volte in passato. Ma in questo duello metteranno in gioco l’orgoglio e tutte le esperienze passate…

Film record d’incassi in Giappone, basato sull’omonimo e anch’essa pluripremiata opera di Fumiyo Kouno, edita in Italia da Kappalab. 

Suzu Urano è una giovane e allegra ragazza che nel 1944 si trasferisce nella piccola cittadina di Kure, sulla costa nella prefettura di Hiroshima, dove sposa Shūsaku Hōjō, un giovane impiegato che lavora nella locale base navale. Nel 1945, i bombardamenti delle forze armate americane colpiscono Kure, con effetti devastanti per tutti i cittadini e il loro modo di vivere. La vita di Suzu cambia in modo irrevocabile, ma con perseveranza e coraggio continua a tirare avanti e a vivere la vita al massimo. Questa bellissima e tragica storia dimostra come anche di fronte alle avversità e alle perdite, le persone possano riunirsi e ricostruire la propria vita.

Diretta e sceneggiata da Sunao Katabuchi assieme a Chie Uratani e animata presso lo studio MAPPA, la pellicola è già disponibile in home video.

Tokyo Ghoul:Re [DOPPIATO IN ITALIANO]

Terza stagione delle serie basata sull’omonimo manga di Sui Ishida e sequel diretto di “Tokyo Ghoul”, entrambi editi in Italia da J-POP.  Prodotta sempre da Studio Pierrot, questa volta la serie è diretta da Odahiro Watanabe (Soul Buster).

Tokyo, due anni dopo l'attacco all'Anteiku. L'atmosfera per le strade è cambiata grazie all'influenza della CCG. Eppure qualcosa, all'ombra dei grattacieli della metropoli, continua silenziosamente a muoversi. Sono i Ghoul che hanno fame, di sopravvivenza. A imporsi su molti di loro è l'Aogiri Tree, organizzazione terroristica che punta il dito contro le azioni senza scrupoli della CCG. Per sradicare la minaccia, la CCG istituisce un team speciale: la Quinx Squad. Tra di loro c'è un tale Haise Sasaki, mezzo ghoul e mezzo umano, la cui identità passata è avvolta nel mistero...

I primi 12 episodi sono andati in onda la scorsa stagione. La serie tornerà con la seconda parte ad ottobre.

Never-Ending Man: Haiyaho Miyazaki

Documentario, già disponibile in home video, dedicato all’intramontabile regista che con il suo genio creativo ha rivoluzionato la storia dell’animazione mondiale.

Diretto per NHK da Kaku Arakawa che ha seguito Hayao Miyazaki (La Città Incantata, Il castello errante di Howl) per oltre 10 anni, documenta il riavvicinamento del maestro al mondo dell’animazione dopo il suo ritiro annunciato nel 2013, stavolta col supporto di giovani animatori di CGI. Miyazaki, da sempre amante dell’animazione a mano libera, ha incontrato diversi ostacoli, ma senza perdere l’energia di un tempo.

Tokyo Ghoul - Il Film

Pellicola live action diretta da Kentaro Hagiwara (della quale potete leggere la nostra recensione) ispirata al popolarissimo manga di Sui Ishida, edito in Italia da J-POP.

Il film conduce gli spettatori in una Tokyo contemporanea non troppo dissimile dalla realtà, dove la vita scorre serena nonostante la minaccia dei ghoul, creature simili agli esseri umani ma che non possono nutrirsi di altro che di carne umana. Ken Kaneki, un giovane universitario timido e tranquillo, si trova adescato da una ghoul, Rize. Per un caso, o forse per mano di qualcuno, la caduta di alcune travi d’acciaio travolge lui e la sua carnefice. Ken, in fin di vita e incosciente, viene salvato grazie al trapianto degli organi di Rize e da allora la sua vita cambia totalmente: assumendo le caratteristiche biologiche dei ghoul, diventerà incapace di nutrirsi di cibo normale e ne sperimenta la fame devastante…
