The way people talk about season finale like "Marinette f*cked up so badly" as if she gave miraculous to a terrorist. Her plan was literally flawless and clever and her attentions pure, Félix f*cked up, not her. How long are you going to hold her accountable for his actions and defend him for the same thing?

Marinette: Alya, what the hell?! These are all my exes!
Alya: Well, I thought they could provide some insights that might improve your love life. Gentlemen, and ladies, as you may have guessed, you are here because you have all dated this great girl. Yet, somehow, things didn't work out. My objective is to figure out why.
Nathaniel: I don't know. The word "self-absorbed" comes to mind.
Luka: And pretentious.
Nino: Definitely pretentious.
Kim: And she's got a big eggo!
Alya: Okay, we seem to have a theme going here.
Marinette: Oh, come on! You're all just mad because I didn't wanna be with you!
Zoé: I think Marinette’s a wonderful girl. She's just having a difficult time coming to terms with her own sexuality.
Marinette: Shut up, Zoé.
Alya: She’s my favorite.
Kagami: She doesn’t care who she hurts as long as she gets what she wants.
Félix: Super insensitive.
Nino: And she’s a creep!
Everyone: *Laughing*
Alya: Yeah, that was pretty clear by the survey. Okay, now who wants more juice?
Kim: *Has his glass topped off* This is great! We should do this every Saturday.
Marinette: No, no, we're not gonna do this every Saturday!
Zoé: What's wrong? We're just being honest.
Marinette: Oh, oh, you want honest?! You're just a replacement for you trash sister! *Points to Nino* You’re a coward! *Points to Luka* You’re nothing but a therapist with a shit dad! *Points to Nathaniel* You refuse to socialize unless Marc is around! *Points to Félix* You have weird goals! *Points to Kagami* You can’t even stand up to your own mom! *Points to Kim* And you’re the reason I am what I am today!
Kim: Sure! Blame the jock!
Marinette: *Points to Alya* And you!… You’re more of a joke that everyone in this room!
Alya: … *Takes a sip of her juice* … Get her!

So we're going the Feligami route, huh?
Disclaimer: I am well aware of the contents of the leaks. However, I will not discuss them in my posts out of respect for my fellow Miraculers that wish not to be spoiled. So, please, if you read this and are aware of the spoilers as well, refrain from discussing them. At the very least don’t do it on the notes. Please and thank you.
Before I say anything else, I want to first make it clear that this is in no way meant as an attack towards Feligami shippers. Just because I don't share your enthusiasm for the ship doesn't mean I'm going to declare war on its supporters. I just...I just need to get this out of my chest. Because I have so many feelings, and thoughts, and opinions regarding these two as a couple and its execution...and not necessarily of the good kind.
Tumblr media
You might be thinking my main beef with Kagami and Félix dating may come from the fact that, morals aside, these two are too similar.
Both are intelligent, capable, well-educated kids from rich families who at first glance have a more dignified and serious vibe going on as opposed to Adrien's more laid-back rich kid energy. A perfectly crafted image of elegance and aloofness that underlies strong emotions, a mischievous side, and a warm heart (which in Félix's case sort of contradicts his gremlin child personality from previous seasons, but that's a topic for another day).
However, while that does play a part in my disinterest in the ship, it is actually the least of my concerns.
So please let me explain why I just can't help but roll my eyes at this development:
1. It's rushed and feels forced:
Leaving aside the obvious reality that it is that Félix has only been featured in 7 episodes in the entirety of the show (with his Multiplication appearance being important but minor), there is also the fact that these two have interacted thrice in all that time.
With their first interaction back in Gabriel Agreste being reduced to giving a side-glance to each other. And not even a friendly one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Truly, they are soulmates...
Now, the irony doesn’t escape me regarding the fact that some of the Love Square issues come precisely from the fact that it’s taken them too long for Adrienette to be canon. One of my personal issues with Feligami happens to be that their relationship came a tad too soon.
Can you please explain to me how do we go from “I begrudgingly acknowledge your existence” to “I can’t stop thinking about you”? I’m sorry, but that is too much of a shoujo manga cliché even for Miraculous.
Mainly because that was basically the kind of dynamic Marinette would have had with Félix had he remained Chat Noir and Astruc, being cognizant of this fact, chose to scrap him because of that.
Because at least Marinette crushing on Adrien after thinking he was a jerk comes from the fact that he went out of his way to apologise to her, make amends, and show he is truly kind at heart. Feligami just comes out of nowhere.
Moreover, their current relationship status also feels forced due to their previous interactions. I’m sorry, but let’s face it, nobody in their right mind would think falling for or even trusting Félix/Argos is a good idea.
If my memory doesn’t fail me, in Multiplication Ladybug and Chat Noir declared Félix as a public enemy due to willingly betraying them and allying himself with Shadow Moth, which directly resulted in him getting the miraculouses and becoming Monarch. (I could be mistaken on this one, though)
And as former miraculous holder, someone who is aware of the fact that the power is granted by sentient beings whose fates are unknown to them, there is just no way Kagami would come to even consider trusting Argos.
And don’t try to bring her friendship with Lila up because at least there she has the excuse of not being aware of the full extent of Lila’s maliciousness and manipulations. In Félix’s case, she is 100% aware of what he’s capable of.
Hell, he literally snapped her loved ones out of existence! And regardless of how terrible Tomoe is, she is still Kagami’s mother and she loves her. Just how she adores Marinette who, to her knowledge, Félix almost killed for real.
Tumblr media
And you expect me to believe she would just move past that? Please, don’t insult me like that.
As much as I love my girl Kagami, there really isn’t enough content between these two to justify either of them falling for the other.
Which sort of leads us to my next point...
2. The implications behind the ship:
There are a lot of unfortunate implications between their interactions. The kind that makes this pairing becoming canon very questionable because it just wouldn’t bode well in any long-term relationship, let alone a real one. And this actually comes from both sides.
But let’s start with Félix, okay?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ah, yes. The ring close-up.
What was originally meant as a “mere” confirmation of the fact that Kagami is most likely a sentimonster as well (a shock in itself if you didn’t buy the Sentimonster Theory), has the unfortunate side effect of implying the main, or even sole, reason Félix ever developed a crush on her is because the two are sentimonsters...and that’s it.
Which is a terrible thing to base an entirely relationship on, because it would mean that Félix isn’t in love with Kagami as her own person. Because, quite frankly, he barely knows her to really come to appreciate her as such. But rather, his interest is born from the fact that the two are one and the same.
It just reads as Félix being desperate for companionship, instead of actively looking for Kagami’s companionship.
And speaking of things that just don’t bode well...Kagami’s side in all of this isn’t much better.
Ever since she was first introduced as Adrien’s potential alternative love interest, or more accurately, ever since Frozer, Kagami has made it a point to let Adrien know she wishes he were more proactive and assertive, which sort of culminated with that harsh phone call from Risk.
Tumblr media
And would you look at that!
Aside from his more manipulative side, being more proactive and assertive than Adrien sort of is Félix’s deal! Looks like Kagami finally found her match after all...
Sigh...
All that would be fine and dandy if it weren’t for the fact that all of season 5 so far, and especially Protection, have shown Adrien finally taking measures to try and be more in control of his life. Which good for him! We all know he needed the character development. Unfortunately this also comes with the canon fact that his new personality also reignited the flame of Kagami’s love for him. Which, again, was the main conflict in Protection:
Kagami trying to keep her own growing feelings and jealousy in check now that Adrien and Marinette are an item.
And where does this leave Feligami at?
Well, coupled with the fact that for some weird reason the Fathoms and Agrestes couldn’t be bothered to give their children individual looks, that is to say, that Félix is a carbon copy of Adrien and that Kagami was once again in love with him (Adrien) because he was finally turning into the kind of person she always dreamed he would be...let’s just say it all feels as if Kagami is projecting her feelings for Adrien onto Félix, rather than learning to love him for who he is.
And that is just not fair for either character. Because it feels as if neither Félix or Kagami are being loved for who they truly are, but for what the other wants them to be. Which is the wrong approach to any relationship.
4. Kagami deserves a girlfriend
5. Even though my previous point is (half) meant as a joke, given what’s happened in Pretension it still holds a certain weight. Mainly because what ultimately seems to endear Félix to Kagami is the fact that some of his mannerisms remind her of Marinette.
I'm not making this up. Félix suddenly acting like a mess around Kagami could not be any more of an obvious parallel to Marinette's own bouts of nervousness around Adrien throughout the show.
Let’s that sink in for a minute, okay?
You’re telling me, Kagami for the most part is justifiably and understandibly hostile towards Félix, but the moment he starts acting like Marinette her whole demeanour softens? You say that she cares for Marinette so much that anything that resembles her becomes an immediate soft spot for Kagami?? And I’m supposed to believe she’s falling for Félix instead of getting deadass gayer for Marinette each passing episode????
Tumblr media
Now, if that’s not a comphet narrative when I see it...
Which, combined with my previous point about Kagami projecting her feelings for Adrien onto Félix, only gives further credibility to the popular “fanon” idea that Kagami is bi. Now, if you could just let her meet some nice girl from her fencing class and let her explore that side of herself in peace instead of forcing her into a nonsensical relationship, that’d be great.
6. It just reinforces the show’s blatant amatonormativity
Believe it or not, this is actually my main beef with the pairing. This is what makes me grit my teeth and roll my eyes in annoyance.
I get it, I get it.
“Miraculous takes a lot of inspiration from rom-coms”, “it’s a show based on magical girls; of course romance is important!”, “the Love Square is one of its main pillars, what did you expect?”
I know.
However, and I cannot stress this enough, you do not need to be in a romantic relationship to be happy and fulfilled. Not only because of the existence of these wonderful groups of people called aromantics and aroace people, but even the most straight, cisgendered, hopeless romantic can be perfectly content single.
Also, being in a relationship is just not something Kagami and Félix’s characters need. But the writers insist that being romantically involved with someone is the only viable happy ending for anyone.
In Kagami’s case, in my humble opinion, taking control of her life from her controlling and strict mother while working on building stronger platonic relationships with her friends would be a very satisfying way to conclude her character arc. Because as touching as it was to see everyone assuring Kagami that they love her in Perfection, aside from Marinette and Adrien the only person her age she’s been interacting with is Lila.
Not exactly the image of honesty and genuine support one would expect in a friendship, huh?
Maybe it’s just me, but seeing the once lonely and socially awkwad Kagami aurrounded by people she’s actually friends with rather than kids that hang out with her by association (that is to say, they are either Mari or Adrien’s friends too and that day they just happen to be all together) would feel like we’ve come full circle.
From the aloof and lonely girl that is only focused on being the best and making her family proud we met in Riposte...
Tumblr media
...to the warm and happy girl who greatly values her social circle she’s slowly been turning into.
Tumblr media
And as for Félix...
Well, truth be told, the show hasn’t really given us much to work with. But maybe a happy ending for him would be if aside from finally being free like he wants to be, he rekindles his relationship with Adrien. If the two really were close in the past, then it would be a pity to lose that.
Tumblr media
But no.
Instead, the show just has to reinforce the idea that the only way you can possibly be happy is by being in a romantic relationship. Never mind if they have neglected that subplot for so long it just comes completely out of the blue and feels unearned.
I love Miraculous, I love the Love Square, and I am a shipper first and a person second, but this is ridiculous and a huge disservice to all parties involved.

It's finally out
Anyway do you want monster/human romance where everything was going pretty okay actually until a corpse shows up to chuck a spanner in the works? A stupid amount of world building for oodles of noodles in the sea and other seafarer species? Luka mentioning he wants to eat Gabriel in the first chapter because he's that much of a bastard? There's all this and more!
This fic is currently rated Mature and is primarily Félix/Luka.

JLB Miraculous Reviews: S5E2 Multiplication
(Obvious Spoilers for Miraculous Season 5)
Tumblr media
Oh Alya honey, what has happened to you lately? I thought we agreed on leaving all this nonsense in Season 3? Some things never change, I guess.
Let's go into Multiplication: the second episode of Miraculous Season 5.
We begin with Clara Contard reporting about Monarch's appearance and threats, wondering about how he got ahold of the Miraculouses. Ladybug starts to tell Cat Noir about the possible reason of the loss of the Miraculouses. She states that she thought she gave the Dog Miraculous to Adrien, but she actually gave it to Félix pretending to be Adrien since the two of them look so alike I blame the animators.
And because Cat Noir actually has a brain for once, he suggests that both Monarch and Félix made a mistake as this proves that the two of them have a connection. Just as they were about to fly to London to find Félix, they're interrupted by Su Han who decided to be a guardian for once.
(These are just the English subtitles, as the English dub hasn't been released yet.)
Su Han: Ladybug, you were supposed to protect the Miraculous. You have failed in your duty as a guardian.
He has the balls to say that Ladybug has failed her duty as a guardian when he literally has done even less work as a mentor than Master Fu's incompetent ass did when he isn’t yelling at Marinette.
We then cut to Gabriel de-transforming in his lair. He then threatens the Kwamis that they're all under his control and so does their powers. And it's only a matter of time for him to get Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous.
We go back to Ladybug defending herself as well as Cat Noir from Su Han's protests.
Ladybug: But I was protecting the Miraculous.
Su Han: So explain why they aren't with you anymore? All fifteen that were in the box, including the Rabbit. What will happen if Monarch decides to use it to change the course of time?
Cat Noir: He's already tried to. But don't worry we've got it back and have put it in a safe place. We gave it to someone who is amazing.
Ladybug: And we'll do the same with all of the others.
Cat Noir: And we finally have a clue that will lead us to Monarch.
Ladybug: So instead of blaming us, why don't you help and trust us, Grand Master?
And because Ladybug and Cat Noir have a point, Su Han kneels down and apologizes to her, saying that he got distracted by stupid reasons modern life and cat videos for four months and that he should've guided her instead of being against her since he has been guardian longer than she has. And in this rare moment of guardianship, Su Han jumps back to Tibet to get some backup, meaning he probably won't appear for a couple of episodes or worse, the whole season.
The heroes transform into their space power-ups to fly to London. Ladybug searches for more information about Félix and surprisingly, he has his own Wikipedia page. It's revealed that his name is actually Félix Fathom, son of the late American billionaire Colt Fathom and aristocrat Lady Amelie Graham de Vanily (so does this mean that Adrien is royalty?). He's a triple medalist of Kung Fu and horsemanship, a chess prodigy and the youngest person to graduate highschool in England. So basically, he has accomplished more in his life than we ever have.
Cosmobug and Astrocat arrive at Félix's home and asks Amelie about his whereabouts.
Amelie: My son wasn't home today when I woke up. I wasn't worried because he was supposed to visit his cousin Adrien in Paris. Those two are inseparable. But Félix didn't return any of my calls, so I called his uncle Gabriel. And he said that he hasn't seen him.
Cosmobug: But, he was in Paris. I talked to him.
Amelie: Oh Cosmobug and Astrocat, I hope nothing bad happened to him.
Cosmobug: Be calm. He should appear at his uncle's house.
Astrocat: Or maybe he's coming back to London already.
Amelie: Thank you so much for the support you are giving to me.
We'll go back to this later.
Cosmobug and Astrocat leave Félix's house. They didn't even bother checking the whole house to see if he's there. We then get a beautiful scene of them talking upon the night sky.
Tumblr media
They wonder if they are wrong about Félix and are having doubts. Astrocat suggests that they find other clues since Monarch is going to keep attacking and that they're going to find out what happened to Félix together. And Cosmobug says that until then, they're going to be more careful than ever since Monarch is apparently so powerful even though they screwed up the many chances of winning against him in the last episode. The two of them then go back to Paris, where we get two good character moments of Marinette and Adrien.
We get a sorrowful scene of Marinette having flashbacks of the Kwamis being cheerful and playful, but they're not really there. It clearly highlights how impactful the loss of not only the Miraculouses but the Kwamis is to her. It shows how guilty Marinette is of failing to protect them. She calls Alya and asks for her company, trying to pretend that she's okay.
We also get a scene of Adrien having a flashback of Félix talking to him in Risk. He blames himself for letting Félix manipulate him and that he should have listened to Marinette. He also has a vision of Marinette telling him that why doesn't he just tell his father the truth. Adrien remembers this and goes to his father's office, as we finally get to see Adrien stand up to his father.
Adrien: Father, I have an important issue to talk with you but I don't know how-
Gabriel: Tell me quickly, Adrien. I'm very busy.
Adrien: I don't want to be a model anymore.
Gabriel: Okay. If that is what you want. Something else?
And that's basically it. What, were you expecting something more dramatic? Maybe an argument between a father and a son? Something that would actually change their relationship forever? OF COURSE NOT! Despite being built up as a very big deal for Adrien's character, Gabriel is somehow okay with Adrien not wanting to do what he wants anymore. You'd think with how much of a big deal this was, there'd be more tension in Adrien and Gabriel's relationship now, but Gabriel is just perfectly fine with this. Well, that was anticlimactic. Although, I wouldn't say it was bad either, as it definitely gave Adrien character growth.
We then go back to Marinette blaming herself for what happened while Alya reassures her that it's not her fault. Marinette says that everything has happened because she confused Adrien with Félix while Alya tells her that Félix was pretending to be Adrien and that anyone would have been fooled by him. But Marinette declares that she loves Adrien so she should've known him well and not be fooled by anyone who is pretending to be him, to which Alya disagrees and states that they have "been through so much together". Is this really important right now?
I hate to break it to you Alya, but the two of them have not been through so much together. Yes, Marinette sticks up for Adrien at times but outside of school interactions, Adrien and Marinette rarely spend any time together nor developed their relationship outside of alternate timelines I'm looking at you Cat Blanc and Ephemeral. Seriously, we are five seasons in and the only times Adrien ever spent time with Marinette were times of his social or work obligations where many people were around and Marinette happened to be there, times where he bumped into her in public with no plans of hanging out with her and times where he was only asking her for a favor. To put it in simple, Marinette and Adrien's relationship is as of classmates or acquaintances, not super close best friends who have been through so much together that the show claims them to be. If the show desperately wants to say that Marinette and Adrien are so close, then make them actually spend time together without the help of any outside forces and develop their relationship in the process. Just make them hang out sincerely. This is one of the problems the Love Square has that made a portion of the fandom lose interest in it. Also why bring up the Statue Scene again when it's literally one of Adrienette's cringiest moments and Marinette's worst moments with Adrien.
And because Marinette believes that it's her love for Adrien that caused all of this and not Félix, she tries to not have a crush on him anymore, even though we know that's going to turn out for her.
Alya: Hello, do you remember the times when you tried not to like him?
Yes Alya, I perfectly remember the times where you keep making fun of Marinette about her crush for Adrien and constantly pushing her into situations with him when she's clearly uncomfortable all because you want them to be a thing. I perfectly remember Frozer, where you discouraged Marinette for trying to move on because the two of them are "made for each other". And I definitely didn't forget the New York special, where you literally trapped them in a room with a fake supervillain just to get them to confess their feelings for each other, all while Marinette is moving on from Adrien and in a relationship with Luka. So don't you dare try to say that because you are literally one of the reasons why Marinette can't move on from Adrien. Just let her move on because what relationship she and Adrien has is none of your concerns. Sure, you can be supportive of Adrienette but don't go overboard with it to the point where Marinette doesn't feel comfortable around Adrien anymore.
And while they were talking, Adrien suddenly calls Marinette. Even though Marinette doesn't want to answer, Alya, as the good friend that she is, answers for her. Alya tells Adrien that Marinette isn't here right now. Adrien tells her to tell Marinette that his father gave him permission to not be a model anymore. Marinette quickly steals the phone from Alya and is glad that Adrien finally talked to his father. Adrien then tells a speech of how special Marinette is to him, which surprisingly, she responds to normally.
Adrien: I wanted to tell you. Since I started school, everything has been so new to me. There are still lots of things I don't understand but one thing I'm certain of is that my life would be very different without you. You've always been by my side. For every problem, you've given me great advice. You are special. Thank you, Marinette.
Marinette: You're welcome.
Adrien: It's true. I want you to know how important you are to me. And I hope one day, I can do as much for you as you did for me.
Marinette: How wonderful. I'll see you tomorrow then?
Adrien: Sleep well, Marinette.
Marinette: Ok!
While I do think that Adrien falling for Marinette was a bit rushed since their relationship hasn't got that much development, it's still sweet to see how much he appreciates her as a friend or more. And how ironic that while Adrien is a little flustered while talking to her, Marinette responds in a completely normal tone without even blushing at the sight of him. The tables have turned, I see. Marinette, of course, denies everything and Alya, like all the other Adrienette shippers watching this episode, gets frustrated.
Meanwhile, at Adrien's house, Adrien lovingly gushes over Marinette because she's so special to him. He doesn't even bother to deny anything to Plagg when he teasingly calls him out and says that she's no longer "just a friend". I guess they're flipping the Love Square now, I see.
Nathalie arrives at the Agreste Mansion and glares at Gabriel. Gabriel takes a quick glance at Nathalie and looks away.
Tumblr media
So I guess they're no longer on the same boat then?
Nathalie then goes to check on Adrien in his room. She's relieved that Adrien is safe and unharmed. I'm predicting that since Nathalie doesn't want to help Gabriel anymore (and that sticks till the very end), she'll begin to reconnect and rekindle her relationship with Adrien and probably defend him from Gabriel if he ever tries to do something to his son. Hopefully, they don't kill her off for her redemption.
At the very next day (so I guess parts of Risk, Strikeback, Evolution and the first part of Multiplication all happened in just one day), Alix's father, with Ladybug's authorization, announces to the whole class that his daughter is gonna withdraw for a while as she's been chosen as a superhero to travel through time to protect the Rabbit Miraculous. He also assures them that she'll come back when Monarch's defeated.
Okay first of all, why would Ladybug authorize him to tell the whole class that Alix is a superhero? Wouldn't that jeopardize Alix's secret identity? What if with this information, Monarch finds out and uses it to his advantage? Sure, Alix would be safe but what about her family? What if Monarch does to Alix's family what he did to Alya's in Sentibubbler? I thought Ladybug herself said that nobody should find out the secret identities of the Miraculous holders?
Lastly, why would Ladybug even trust the class with this information in the first place? How is she so sure that this will end well? Chloé (who has literally worked for Hawkmoth multiple times) and Lila (who she doesn't even trust at all) were both in that room. Not to mention that if any of them gets akumatized, then Ladybug will have to worry about them spilling the information to Monarch.
Seriously writers, you couldn't bother finding another excuse as to why Alix couldn't attend class for a period of time?
Tumblr media
With this announcement, the teachers try to hype up the students and tell them how they don't need to be superheroes to support Ladybug and Cat Noir. How ironic, considering all of them, except for Lila, became superheroes. Mylène expresses her fear of Monarch and Max states that Monarch has majority of the Miraculous and has a big shot of winning. Nino tells him that he isn't really helping. Ivan calms Mylène down and suggests that they do yoga so that she can lessen the fear she has. And Marinette agrees of helping balancing the emotions of who's afraid as fear can't control them. Rose exclaims that Monarch won't win if they think positively. The rest of the class cheers while Chloé mocks them for being afraid, proposing why they don't just give Monarch what he wants. She tells them that they are in this situation because of Ladybug and Cat Noir's incompetence, while promoting herself as Queen Bee. While she is true, Lila explains that Ladybug and Cat Noir are still young and they had to make a few mistakes with that much power and responsibility. She says that they need to forgive Ladybug because fighting a supervillain shouldn't be a job for a kid.
I can't believe I'm saying this but, Lila is definitely right! Even though I know she's just lying, Lila absolutely makes a great point. Ladybug and Cat Noir are just kids (although it doesn't excuse some of the more incompetent decisions they made). And it isn't their job to fight Monarch because they're still kids. I don't know what Lila ate to make her say these things but these are definitely facts that majority of the fandom who are very hard on Marinette and Adrien needs to hear.
A scene shows of Ladybug and Cat Noir starting on keeping an eye for Monarch to battle him on the Eiffel Tower. Another scene shows of Adrien walking down the stairs when he suddenly notices Gabriel and Tomoe alone in his office talking, to which his Bodyguard closes the door behind them.
Tumblr media
Adrien's mind: So Kagami's gonna be my stepsis now?
Also, Nathalie is apparently very replaceable because Gabriel has a collection of a million women in his closet who is willing to do evil with him.
Another scene shows of Adrien getting of his car and meeting up with his friends at school. He sees Marinette and tries to kiss her on the cheek as a greeting (even though he didn't do that to Alya and Nino for some reason), but Marinette, being visibly uncomfortable, stands back and offers him a handshake instead. Oh boy, it gets much worse later.
The next scenes show Parisians doing their best to cope with Monarch's threats. Mylène and Ivan opens a yoga club. Nora, with Alya and Nino, practices kickboxing with standees of Shadow Moth.
We also get a scene of Adrien and Lila getting digitalized with the help of the Tsurugi company, serving as a solution for Adrien not wanting to model anymore.
Basically, all of this scenes are part of a montage showing a course of weeks passing in Paris. However, these attempts eventually died down when weeks passed by and no akumatization had occurred. Nadja reports that Monarch hasn't attacked since weeks. Even Ladybug and Cat Noir acknowledges this while playing cards at the Eiffel Tower, as well as the fact that Félix hasn't appeared. So, has he given up? Let's see. Of course he didn't.
The next day, Adrien arrives at school and attempts to kiss Marinette again. This time, Alya PHYSICALLY PREVENTS Marinette from avoiding the kiss.
Tumblr media
This has so many problems. Alya... why?
1. It doesn't matter if it's just a friendly kiss or a greeting kiss! If Adrien wanted to kiss Marinette as a friend, shouldn't Alya and Nino be getting one from him as well, since they're his friends too? And if it were really with friendly intentions, shouldn't Adrien be giving Marinette cheek kisses pre-Multiplication?
2. Marinette is visibly uncomfortable! It doesn't matter if he just wants to kiss her as a friend or it's a French thing. It's still wrong for Alya to force Marinette onto Adrien not only once but thrice! Why are Adrien's feelings put on a pedestal while Marinette's feelings are disregarded and shrugged off in this situation? This is super uncomfortable and unfair for Marinette!
3. It doesn’t excuse Marinette being physically restricted by Alya! She was already avoiding the kiss and had already told MANY TIMES to Alya on how she wants to move on. Even if she secretly loves him deep down, she should not be forced to get kissed and her so-called "best friends" should respect her decision. What Alya and Adrien are doing to Marinette is making her feel uneasy and distressed. This is borderline harassment in Marinette's case!
Luckily, Ikari Gozen interrupts the unwanted kiss and jumps to Collège Françoise Dupont. She destroys the school with her bokken and rampages around Paris, attempting to destroy the city and create a new one. Because Alya actually remembers that she is Marinette's confidant, she pulls Marinette to a safe place to transform into Ladybug. Adrien also goes to the train station to transform into Cat Noir.
Ladybug and Cat Noir arrive on top of the Arc de Triomphe, where Ikari Gozen plans on destroying. Cat Noir comments on how Monarch came back just to akumatize Ikari Gozen again. Ladybug stresses that they didn't fight her alone before (as they had the help of Ryuko) but Cat Noir reassures her, saying that they always used to fight together, just the two of them.
Ikari Gozen notices the heroes and ridicules them about how they're too antique to be heroes and that Paris needs "modern heroes". I wonder if this is part of Gabriel's plan and partnership with Tomoe at the end of the episode. We'll get to this later.
Ikari Gozen tries to hit Cat Noir with her bokken but is stopped by his staff. Ladybug tries to get the bokken with her yo-yo but misses and Ikari Gozen flicks her away, throwing her to the trees of Jardin des Tuileries. Cat Noir checks up on Ladybug to see if she's okay but in doing so, Ikari Gozen successfully destroys the Arc de Triomphe.
Ikari Gozen swiftly runs to the Grand Palais to destroy it next but is distracted by Cat Noir, who has activated Cataclysm. While Ikari Gozen is focused on attacking Cat Noir, Ladybug successfully ties her yo-yo around her bokken. But unfortunately for her, Ikari Gozen activates the Mouse Miraculous power, multiplying into twelve versions of herself.
Tumblr media
This gives off major Attack on Titan vibes.
Ladybug and Cat Noir are shocked that Ikari Gozen (or as Cat Noir said, Ikari Dozen) used the power of the Mouse Miraculous. The Ikari Dozen clones go berserk and destroy everything that they deem "less modern" in sight (so, she's basically reverse Bakerix). That includes the Montparnasse Tower and...
Tumblr media
NOT THE EIFFEL TOWER AGAIN-
An Ikari Dozen clone tries to hit Ladybug and Cat Noir but is unsuccessful, destroying the Grand Palais in the process. While fighting the clones, Ladybug suspects that Monarch gave Ikari Dozen the Mouse Miraculous while Cat Noir is proud that they'll reclaim another Miraculous back. Spoiler Alert: They don't.
Ladybug and Cat Noir hide under the debris of the destroyed Grand Palais, surrounded by the rampaging clones. Ladybug conjures her Lucky Charm, getting a fishing rod. She tries to think of a solution, highlighting the fishing rod, Collège Françoise Dupont, Ikari Dozen's bokken, a pillar that fell down inside the principal's office and Cat Noir in her vision. She now has an idea of the plan, telling Cat Noir what he should do.
Ladybug then distracts the Ikari Dozen clones and lures them away while Cat Noir escapes. Ladybug lures them to Collège Françoise Dupont, signaling Cat Noir. The original Ikari Dozen tries to hit Ladybug but misses, completely falling for her trap and putting her bokken inside the principal's office. Cat Noir uses the fishing rod to bring the pillar down and gets the bokken stuck. Ikari Dozen tries to get her bokken out but Cat Noir cataclysms it, releasing the Akuma. Ladybug purifies it, releasing the Ikari Dozen clones out of existence. Ladybug and Cat Noir pound-it and Mrs. Tsurugi is returned to her normal self. Tomoe explains the "reason" why she got akumatized. Ladybug asks Tomoe to check if there's any Miraculouses on her clothes and to their surprise, she doesn't possess the Mouse Miraculous. They suspect that this must be Monarch's surprise for being MIA for weeks. Ladybug then uses Miraculous Ladybug, gives Mrs. Tsurugi a useless Magical Charm and they leave.
Tomoe gets inside her car and tells Tatsu to take her to her office. With her special hi-tech ring, she calls Gabriel.
Gabriel: Tsurugi-san.
Tomoe: The prototype worked, Gabriel.
Gabriel: Very well. Let's go for the next step.
And as of this episode, it's revealed that Tomoe Tsurugi has became an ally of Gabriel and through what I've heard, she helped him create these technological rings to allow Monarch to transfer the powers of the Miraculous to his akumatized villains that wears them, with herself serving as a test subject. I wonder how would Kagami react to her mother siding with a terrorist. Also, good move Gabriel. This is actually a smart plan. I wonder how they created this rings though.
We then get an ad of these rings, named Alliance rings, a project between the Tsurugis and Agrestes. And...
Tumblr media
My eyes hurt just seeing him in... this. Moving on.
The Alliance rings have four modes: Assistant mode, Akuma alert mode, Call mode and Navigation mode. Assistant mode can answer simple questions, solve math problems and launch other applications or applets and the digitalized versions of Lila and Adrien seem to be the only models of the assistants in Assistant mode. Akuma alert mode notifies the user if there is an active Akuma attack near them so that they can get to safety quickly. Call mode allows you to receive and start video calls with other rings and presumably phones as well. Navigation mode shows a map and gives general or complete directions to a destination. If you ask me, Monarch can DEFINITELY use this rings to his own advantage. I wonder how is he going to fail now. Probably through plot armor
While holding their promotional campaign, Gabriel makes a gesture to Lila and Adrien to come to the stage. On stage, Adrien asks Gabriel.
Adrien: Listen father, is this why you digitalized me?
Gabriel: Yes, son. I'm freeing you from your model career. That was what you wanted, right?
While this is definitely heartwarming, I won't be fooled again this time! This is just one of those times where Gabriel tries to act like a good father to Adrien in one episode and then becomes a piece of shit to him again at the very next episodes. Nice try writers, but you won't deceive me again.
So the episode ends with a post-credits scene where Amelie knocks on Félix's bedroom for tea time. While Félix sits on the couch and opens his laptop, Amelie reveals that she lied to Cosmobug and Astrocat.
Amelie: Don't worry, darling! Mother is here to protect you from the superheroes that think that you are a villain.
Isn't he though? This could mean two things, either Amelie is oblivious to Félix's actions or she's onboard with all of this, and I think it's more of the latter than the former.
When his mother leaves him be, Félix pulls out the Peacock Miraculous and wears it, letting Duusu out.
Duusu: Where is Nathalie? Are you my new holder?
Félix: I am way more than that, Duusu.
I wonder what he means when he says he's more than that. Who am I kidding, he's definitely a Sentimonster along with Adrien.
But yeah, Multiplication was honestly a fine episode for me. It's definitely better than Evolution. It had many problems, but not as big as Evolution's. I can even say that it's better than most Season 4 episodes.
For the most part, it had good continuity from the Season 4 finale. Ladynoir working together to defeat Ikari Gozen was also a highlight in this episode for me. The first half of the episode literally had more plot progression without feeling rushed than half of Season 4 in general lmao. The characters begin to have more agency in the plot. It's good to see how Nathalie really cares for Adrien and I hope she does get character growth in the future. The short Félix and Lila appearances were also nice. As anticlimactic it was, Adrien standing up to Gabriel is a nice setup for his character. And as we all suspected, Tomoe and Gabriel work together. I wouldn't be surprised if Audrey is also involved in this Evil Rich Parents society, based on the Feast and Gabriel Agreste episodes.
Of course like I said, there were many problems with this episode. Su Han's scene where he explains his lack of appearances last season is a big joke and just goes to show that his whole character has been nothing but useless whenever he doesn't yell at Marinette. Alix's reason of absence could've been explained in another way without exposing her identity. Seriously, did the writers just not think of saying that Alix went on another country with relatives or something? But I guess the secret identity rule is practically ignored since it really only applies to Chloé and not the other heroes who got their identities exposed. Adrienette's portrayal in this episode is weird at best while creepy and uncomfortable at worst. The way he fell for Marinette seems really rushed but Adrien expecting her to be okay with kissing her is outright irritating. He didn't even ask her for permission just like he did in Cat Blanc. I know that he likes Marinette now for some reason but that doesn't excuse him kissing her without her consent. She even backs away from him every time he attempts to kiss her, visibly uncomfortable, and he still doesn't get the hint. It's definitely gonna leave a bad taste to the audience, especially since it teaches kids that kissing someone without their consent is definitely okay, as long as you like them. How on earth did they think that we would be okay with this? And to be honest, this isn't even the worst part of the episode. Because...
Tumblr media
Yes, what Alya did in this episode definitely deserves a spotlight. This is probably one of Alya's unlikeable moments in the series. Instead of respecting Marinette's wishes to move on from Adrien, she still pushes her to him even though she's visibly uncomfortable. Because God forbid Marinette actually tries to grow as a character and as a person and not let her life revolve around a blonde guy. It's stuff like this that I really wonder why Marinette is still friends with Alya when most of the time, she teases her and forces her out of her comfort zone, which a real best friend shouldn't do. Plus, why is Marinette's feelings for Adrien your priority right now and not how to get back the Miraculouses from Monarch? I seriously hope they don't revert Alya back to her Season 3 self because I actually liked her in Season 4. God please help us.
These problems really drag this episode a bit for me. Then again, these choices just got to me personally. I feel like if those things weren't there or were done much better, things could have made this episode a lot better for me personally. I can definitely see why a lot of people really like this episode, but I'm honestly not too obsessed with it. So, I'll give Multiplication a 7/10.

How about Canon!Felix for the bingo?
Tumblr media
You know, I was one of the people that were under the impression that GDV and PV Félix were more similar than Adrien and PV Félix, mostly because I only knew GDV through some felinette fics, and in there, the characters were mixed around all the time. But, nah, they’re completely different, and it turns out I don’t really vibe with GDV all that much. At least, not in comparison to PV Félix. Were him from another show, or simply didn’t share Félix’s name, I might’ve vibed with him more, but as it is, blorbo space for Miraculous is already full and I’m kinda salty so many people mix him up with PV.
Haze loves him, tho, so he gets to hang out in an area nearby in my brain, where I sometimes visit to turn him around a bit (not salad spinner level, tho). Oh, and the “everyone else is wrong about them” isn’t for me, btw, it’s for my friends that like him (everyone’s wrong except them and those who passes their vibe check).
Some final thoughts: Arguably the best character in the show, has a magician vibe (which is always neat), has a long name, something my brain thinks it’s neat for some reason (doesn’t mean I won’t make fun of it [also, I’m choosing to ignore Félix Fathom]), so, ye, a cool character stuck in an awful show that I don’t vibe all that much with and wish was named something other than Félix.

hey I figure that you’re probably tired of talking about the Sentimonster nonsense but I genuinely still can’t stand that it’s an actual thing. The wildest thing about it is that I JOINED the fandom because of the Sentimonster theory, actually got excited for it and looked forward to hints, not believing the skeptics or the salters bc it didn’t seem like such a big deal—that is until I saw with my own eyes how SO MANY FANS said with their whole chest that, in “Ephemeral” Adrien HAD to be a Sentimonster or there was no other “sympathetic explanation” for why he didn’t de-akumatize himself or fight off Gabriel.
Seeing the victim blaming in real time was such a punch in the gut—and then they just kept on coming!! It finally hit me how damaging the entire thing because for the show as a whole. If even regular fans that weren’t even known for salting could so willingly disregard and ignore genuine abuse coping mechanisms in favor of magical BS… it was such a dark time. Abuse Apologism and victim blaming in a whole package
Sometimes, when I write about Miraculous, I pretend I'm writing about a show that only had three seasons. That's what the "zagulous fandom" tag is for; it's for posts that are about the parts of Miraculous that had Zag's executive control keeping Astruc in check. I also kinda accepted long ago that my blog's kind of a support blog for people who are against the Sentihuman concept.
When I first heard of the expanded Sentimonster theory, the one that went "all the rich kids are Sentimonsters", I instantly went: "You do realize how making victims of child abuse nonhumans with questionable rights minimizes their victimhood and excuses their abusers, right?" people told me I was making stuff up and whoopsie doo, the writers did exactly that.
Neither Gabriel nor Tomoe faced any consequences for abusing Adrien and Kagami because, after all, since they're Sentimonsters, the real abuse was that they didn't have their Amoks so giving them their Amoks resolves all their problems. The only abusive parent who gets acknowledged as such is Félix's dad, who is dead by the time we hear about any of this, because we can't have abusive parents face consequences for their actions because that might upset people or whatever excuses Astruc's giving for Gabriel's vindication now.
This also minimises all the affects of the abuse on the kids, since they can be handwaved away with: "They were just programmed that way." Kagami's bad social skills aren't because her mother isolated her, it's because she forgot to program Kagami with those skills. Félix's villainous behavior isn't because his mother is overly permissive with him, he was just programmed that way (by the eeeeevil Colt). Adrien isn't a people pleaser because he's repeating his abuse coping mechanisms with his overly controlling girlfriend to keep her happy the same way he did to his overly controlling father, he was just programmed to be the perfect doting son and boyfriend.
You'll notice how neatly this ties into the crew denying that Chloé was abused in any way ever by her clearly abusive mother. Chloé wasn't made into a Sentimonster, so we can't have her bad coping with her abuse be excused by "Sentimonster programming", so now the writers are just gaslighting the audience and saying: "Chloé wasn't mistreated by her parents which caused her to act to out to get attention (which she literally stated to be her motive in season 3), in fact, she's the one who's been terrorizing her poor, innocent father and he needs to be protected from this naturally occuring evil hellspawn."
All child abuse in this show gets excused.
Of course, now the writers have an added reason to make sure Adrien's abuse gets excused in particular: because they made Marinette benefit from it. As I said, Adrien is repeating abuse coping mechanisms learned from dealing with his father to keep Marinette happy. He's always prioritizing her feelings and never brings up his own problems, and this is good for Marinette, because she can just enjoy having a perfect boyfriend who caters to her every need and doesn't have problems of his own or with the ways she treats him (for all she knows). She's even maintaining this status quo by lying about Gabriel to Adrien, so Adrien won't get upset (and have emotional needs that she would need to help him with). Either we have to excuse Adrien's abuse, or we have to admit Marinette is benefitting from the fact that Adrien was abused, and even taking advantage with the way she makes no effort to improve their communication on her end, preferring to spy on Adrien and lie to him instead of just talking to him like an equal.
The show writers are also allergic to following through on their creative decisions, is what I think. They put all these different victims of child abuse and neglect in the show, and then dehumanized these children in different ways so that they wouldn't actually need to say anything about that abuse they wrote in and they can instead pretend it was never there. This is why I also think that, no matter how much the show's defenders insist the story isn't over yet, we will never be getting a proper resolution to the Sentinonsense.

Encanto info from Jared Bush's Q&As
This is a little place where you can find (hopefully) a lot of info Jared has said in his Q&As. This is if you wanna check smth and don't wanna go on a hunt to confirm it since it's been so long. Idk if I got everything, I highly doubt I did, so if you have a piece of info I don't have and have a link to it, I can edit it on. Ngl I'm also kinda doing this for myself cuz I was curious to know everything he's told us. I'll mostly summarize the answer so it isn't longer than it needs to be, but I'll also copy+paste if I'm too lazy.
The info here kinda varies from interesting, to obvious stuff, to potentially pointless but really any of it can be used to do whatever.
Some of the answers he provided aren't concrete solid ("I think __ would happen", "I always thought ___", etc), so take this all with a grain of salt. I'll try to phrase the uncertain ones differently so you know they're not 100% (probably, possibly, might, etc). If the answer he gives is completely up to interpretation, then I won't include it. Some might be repeated cuz I don't feel like looking back to see if he answered the same question twice.
Just to warn you guys before you click "keep reading", this is a LONG post, so if you don't want it fill up your page, don't click it unless you really wanna read everything.
Antonio's Birthday Q&A #2 (5/21/23)
Canon universe:
Dolores never truly believed Bruno was still around. She heard stuff, but everyone told her he was gone, so she thought she was imagining things. "I knew he never left" was her way of saying "I shouldn't have doubted myself."
Antonio was a shy kid and animals are were easier for him to make friends with.
The potteries in Bruno's room were because it was fairly public for people who want visions, so they're probably a nod to that.
When Pedro went to the attackers when he died, he was planning to reason with them.
Luisa's associated with donkeys because they’re beasts of burden and that’s how everyone treated her.
Mirabel has her embroidery because she loves her family, but potentially also because she subconsciously want to make sure the villagers know despite having no gift she is every bit a Madrigal.
Isabela might potentially secretly like Pepa's chaos.
Julieta's really good at hiding her feelings about the pressure of being the town's healer, but she's also a naturally strong person.
There's a reason why Bruno's single but Jared didn't tell us.
Bruno's favorite food is Ajiaco, but potentially also big butt ants.
Julieta probably noticed Mirabel wasn't in the pic at Antonio's ceremony immediately after it was taken, but Mirabel had already left by then.
For a while, Bruno's limit for future seeing was until the fall of Castia, but now it's limitless.
Alma didn't necessarily approve of Agustín at first because he wasn't overly spectacular or confident.
Mirabel and Camilo got along well when they were young, but after Mirabel's ceremony, Camilo felt more pressure to perform and show off.
Even before his gift, Bruno probably worried and wondered about the future, which is what caused his gift.
The Madrigals mostly assumed Bruno had somehow left the Encanto after his disappearance.
The birth of the miracle happened near the turn of the 20th century, and Antonio's ceremony was 50 years later.
The 5th birthdays for the Madrigals is the big one. The others are "regular".
Camilo often annoys Isabela for fun and also because he's a bit envious of her. They're kinda opposite, perfect vs a clown.
The post-movie relationship between Mirabel and Isabela is probably mischevious.
Bruno probably already was breaking from pressure when Isabela was only in single digits.
Alma was loving to all her grandchildren, but sometimes it felt conditional due to her expectations. She wasn't self-aware enough to realize.
Félix can play the tiple, but not shown in the film.
Agustín and Félix probably wore their respective colors before marrying their respective wives. Their colors are also a nod to regionality.
Alma might've seen cracks before Mirabel saw them at Antonio's ceremony (not at the moment tho), giving her a reason to actually believe Mirabel and pray to Pedro.
Based off the book "Mystery in the Rainforest", Dolores and Mariano are engaged and planning a wedding soon.
There is a school in the Encanto, but since it's closed off and was formed in the beginning of the 20th century, new info would cease.
Pedro might've been the one to know sewing and embroidery. He taught it to Alma, who taught Julieta and Mirabel. She probably taught others but Mirabel did it the most.
Bruno's door might've started glowing again during his vision in Antonio's room because Mirabel is making him feel included in the family (and therefore Casita) again.
The Madrigals do have friends groups, just not shown.
Camilo's gift can be tiring. Like an actor playing their part.
Mirabel probably would've had a negative or even traumatic impact from the fall of Castia, mostly due to a near death experience.
The Madrigals have never tested their gifts beyond the Encanto, so it's still a mystery on what happens.
Antonio probably can talk to animals from different countries, not just Colombia.
Camilo sometimes tries to impress everyone with his gift.
Mirabel's birthday became "stressful" ever since her 5th.
Isabela would probably help Antonio decorate his room with crazy plants.
Behind the scenes:
5/21 is Afro-Colombian Day, which is why that's Antonio's bday.
There used to be a deleted scene of Mirabel getting grounded by Casita.
The Guzmans originally had the same number of family members as the Madrigals, and each member was like a doppelgänger of each gifted Madrigal child, except Mirabel, who was represented in the Guzman family by a goat.
There used to be a scene where Camilo's gift goes haywire at night or smth (can't figure out the full pic for this one).
Writers considered early on that Mirabel would want to leave, but they decided that from a character and cultural perspective, leaving her family would have been the absolute worst thing she could imagine.
It's never been established how long the ceremony doors appear before the ceremony, but 9 months has been considered.
Early versions would show that Alma had strict parents. It may or may not be true now, but it would make sense.
Mirabel used to have a gap in her teeth to show her quirkiness, but was removed because they wanted to show it in other ways.
Encanto Disney+ Hollywood Bowl Q&A (12/28/22)
Cannon universe:
Emotions can sometimes affect Bruno's visions.
Camilo often helped take care of babies even before Antonio's birth. He was just naturally good with them.
The stairs in Bruno's room probably grew as he became more distanced, so they probably lessened when Casita came back.
Luisa's favorite sister is probably Mirabel.
Camilo would probably sometimes be happy that Isabela found her true self, while also a bit jealous. It depends on the moment.
The Madrigals' reaction to someone entering the Encanto would probably be chaotic.
As a way to protect them, Alma was always a little strict on her family.
Julieta and Agustín often worried how Mirabel was doing, especially for Antonio's ceremony.
Alma tried to show she loved Mirabel in her own way after her ceremony and before the movie.
Camilo's experience being the only boy in the house for a while was...interesting. Not the easiest.
Pepa and Dolores' gifts have caused some difficulties between the two.
Especially post-movie, Bruno, Agustín and Félix would be a ridiculous trio.
The candle is now gone, but a new miracle took its place.
Félix and Mirabel have a good relationship, especially post-movie.
Isabela's 5th birthday was the first gift ceremony for the grandchildren.
Bruno was probably superstitious before moving in the walls.
Before the house fell, Alma probably wouldn't like Dolores marrying Mariano. After, she'd accept it.
The other Madrigals might have hidden potential in their gifts, much like Isabela did.
The townspeople mostly either put the Madrigals on a high pedestal or see them as equals.
Isa probably had at least one flower she'd intentionally give Mirabel allergies with.
Bruno was probably a bit popular at one point.
Adopted Madrigal kids that were 6+ would probably still get a gift.
Mirabel's near-sighted.
Camilo's probably gotten in trouble for his disguises at times.
Bruno's mostly a rat guy because he's around them the most.
Pepa has a sweet tooth but doesn't let her self have too much due to her weather.
Isabela can grow trees and crops.
There's no definite reason why Isa was the favorite grandchild, but being the eldest didn't help.
When Alma said "the magic is strong, and so are the drinks", she was really trying to get everyone back to the party.
The gifts can tire out the Madrigals if used a lot, sometimes physical pain can occur.
Alma might have siblings, but it's not confirmed.
Behind the scenes:
There used to be a scene of Mirabel getting grounded. Idk if it's the same scene as the previous one mentioned, but the context of the question might suggest otherwise. ("What would've happened to Mirabel if she was found after the dinner?")
There were versions in the end credits of everyone reuniting with Bruno.
There is potential for a Madrigal with OCD, autism, etc, but not yet confirmed.
Triplet's Birthday Q&A (8/17/23)
Cannon universe:
Bruno and the grandkids now watch telenovelas together.
Julieta's favorite food is probably ajiaco.
Mirabel's first word would potentially be "sita" because she loved Casita but couldn't say the full word.
Dolores' room has a lot of soundproofing.
The reason Mirabel seems to interact with Castia the most out of the Madrigals is because she was mostly an outsider, with only Casita to talk to.
Encanto is a hidden place, so simply finding it is near impossible.
There are respected town elders in Encanto, but Alma is considered the founder.
Pedro said something to Alma before he died, potentially in Spanish, but it's not confirmed what.
In terms of personality, Mirabel is the closest to Pedro.
For adoptive kids, Casita may be able to anticipate the arrival of someone new even before the family is consciously aware of it, giving them a new door.
Bruno's a fan of chocolate.
Mirabel loves every color. She has no known favorite.
Julieta got married first between her and Pepa.
Bruno's rats aren't sentient like humans, so Bruno would have to train them to do whatever.
It's possible another Madrigal felt resentment towards Bruno after he left.
Julieta's gift possibly only works with a combo of cooking and giving, but not confirmed.
Bruno learned how to use his gift through practice and invented customs. It was complicated.
Julieta probably needs to know the person's injury before healing it.
The majority of the Madrigals' dominate hands are right. Julieta and Antonio are left handed. Luisa is ambidextrous. It's unsure, but Mirabel is potentially left handed.
Mirabel's favorite food is arepa con queso.
Antonio's favorite snack is nailed rice.
Agustín and Félix have jobs in the town, but not confirmed what.
In a book, it was mentioned that Bruno was the golden child of the family. He probably fell from that position in his late teens.
Agustín's favorite meal from Julieta is chocolate santafereño.
Gifts can possibly be repeated, but not in the same generation.
The refugees/townspeople had brought everything from home they used to start farming when the Encanto formed.
Isabela and Mariano still have a good relationship after the movie. Neither were too wild about the engagement.
The bedrooms can change if their owner wants them to.
The gift ceremonies will now be different without a candle.
Madrigals still do the traditional quinceañera.
The Encanto doesn't have electricity.
Bruno has left the walls a few times for a break.
Isabela will probably keep switching up her outfit now that she can.
Luisa has always felt protective of Mirabel.
Behind the scenes:
Casita used to have shown that it has only 1 bathroom, which was located in the back right corner under Bruno's tower.
There was a deleted scene where Julieta yelled at Alma in front of the entire town after Mirabel went missing.
Julieta is the one singing w/ Mirabel during the "constellations glow/the seasons change in turn" lyric.
There used to be a version of Bruno using water with his vision.
The line said by Mirabel, "Even in our darkest moments there's light where you least expect it" was cut after Lin Manuel Miranda wrote Dos Oruguitas and the emotional thrust of Mirabel’s words needed to evolve to encompass what she’d just learned.
There was a Waiting on a Miracle reprise that was cut because they felt they didn't need it.
The concept of a new door appearing was considered to start with the doorknob.
No one intervened during Alma and Mirabel's argument because the writers felt that it was Mirabel's moment to shine.
VERY early on, Bruno (then known as Oscar) was Mirabel's estranged cousin.
Indestructibility was a gift they wanted to use. It was actually Pepa's original gift.
Dolores' Birthday Q&A (8/31/22)
Cannon universe:
People in Isabela's position wouldn't really have the chance to have authentic relationships because they're hiding their true self. This could potentially apply to Isa herself.
Before Mirabel's ceremony, her family was excited for her. After, the family’s ability to see Mirabel clearly was too obscured by their unhealthy dynamics but were probably unaware of that until Mirabel brought it to light.
Bruno's oversized clothing was by personal preference, potentially because of his awkward nature.
Before Isabela showed up in Bruno's vision, another person was there, who is possibly a young Alma. While not confirmed, it is implied in Jared's answer.
Félix and Agustín already had gifts, just not in a way that others could see.
Isabela lets herself break the rules, so while not confirmed, it's possible she could recreate mythical plants.
The town probably functions like a combination of where everyone came from.
The triplets used to have little meetings in Bruno's room when they were little.
Behind the scenes:
There used to be a scene where Bruno revealed he had a secret elevator in his room.
Agustín's Birthday Q&A (6/19/22)
Cannon universe:
Part of what fuels the miracle is unconditional love. When Mirabel and Isa showed that during What Else can I Do?, it affected the magic.
Julieta often gives people the food they like rather than something random.
For a long time, Isabela was the favorite grandchild for Alma. Before her ceremony, Mirabel was. After Casita's rebuild, many dynamics changed.
Agustín was born in the Encanto, but his family was from a city, so he was raised with the city-vibe.
Luisa's favorite food is bandeja paisa.
Every gift can be affected by emotions in some way.
Casita probably helped Bruno hide, but not confirmed.
If Mirabel and Bruno decided to leave the Encanto after Casita fell, the entire family would've fallen apart.
The only people in the Encanto were the ones who traveled with Alma. They all got there at the same time, no one got in or out.
Behind the scenes:
There used to be an exit for Bruno's wall room behind the family tree, but it wasn't used.
Antonio's Birthday Q&A (5/21/22)
Cannon universe:
Mirabel's canonically 5'2.
Mirabel has good relationships with Pepa and Félix. Félix loves everyone and likes hanging out with pretty much anybody. Pepa is a good tia, she’s just very emotional, but for most of the movie (and her life before) felt she had to bottle her emotions which only made them worse.
Bruno probably doesn't need the sand for visions, but as time went on he added his own superstitions.
The color of the magic in the end changed. It wasn't the color of the candle anymore, but the colors of Mirabel. What that means? No one knows.
Bruno "felt" his vision cave collapsing and investigated. That's how he knew it was destroyed.
Camilo couldn't really hold a form forever because of how tiring it could be.
Mirabel did have a quinceañera.
Casita has a mind of its own with its own emotions. Sometimes it could play pranks on the Madrigals or be too upset to move anything.
Behind the scenes:
Earlier versions had a negative dynamic between Mirabel and Camilo.
The gifts are based off family archetypes. Antonio is a shy kid but opens up to animals.
Random Q&A (3/19/22)
Cannon universe:
The main reason for Mirabel and Isa's falling out was because they couldn’t see the difficulties the other was experiencing, because they were fixated on their own struggles. They were probably closer when they were younger.
Despite being shy, Antonio does have friends in the town.
Due to the triplets' bday being the same day as Pedro's death, it's a mixed day.
Pepa can try to stop natural disasters, but doesn't usually succeed.
Mirabel would sometimes have sleepovers with her sisters when they were younger. There was a deleted scene showing it.
The pink cloud scene in Surface Pressure represents the stuff Luisa wanted to do without the pressure.
Behind the scenes:
Tbh there wasn't any answers that could qualify as behind the scenes sooo... 🤷
Stuff that didn't come from Q&As but is still good info
Madrigal Birthdays (I'm not doing a link for each, just take my word for it lol):
Félix: November 11 (11/11)

narcos fandom smut alphabet - finished!
you know what goes really well with summer sunshine and narcos tv rewatches? SMUTTY FIC!
Tumblr media
(they put that bisexual lighting on Isabella for a reason, after all!)
this was our first month of prompts over at @narcosfandomdiscord! for every letter of the alphabet, we had two smutty prompts that fanfic writers used for inspiration. 🥰 our group ambition was to create at least one fic per letter—26 new narcos smut fics during the month of July—and we totally smashed it, in large part thanks to prolific work from @salt-is-a-terrible-currency. happy reading!
if you prefer reading on ao3, check out our collection. all fics tagged as #nffalphabet on tumblr. and it's just that simple 🥰
if you have any questions, you can message us on tumblr or join our narcos fandom discord here!

Marinette just FORGIVES Félix? He sexually assaulted her, stole her kwamis and sold them to slavery, made her look like a fool for believing he's Adrien, she had nightmares and PTSD and trust issues and he made her give up on her feelings for Adrien in fear of failing to be a good hero again and she spent half of the season hating herself for what he did to her and then she lets him join her team?

TRICK OR TREAT!!!!!!
*nervously opens door a week later and shakes meagre candy bowl*
okay this is a core four scene from a fic that never came to be but i like this little bit so it might as well see the light of day!
Once they’d all dropped off their bags, the group reconvened in the kitchen.  Nino broke the silence. “So, uh…we have lots of food.” Marinette nodded slowly, still eyeing the immaculately stocked fridge with wide eyes. “Lots of food.” They all continued to stare. Frankly, this was more time than Adrien had ever spent looking inside a fridge. He was used to having meals prepared for him, and even having constant access to a fridge at all was pretty new to him. Plus, even in London he tended not to linger in the kitchen, preferring to grab something quickly and sneak back to his room before he risked running into Félix. “We have lots of ingredients,” Alya amended, her words earning a round of nods. “But does anyone actually know what to do with them?” Adrien’s stomach growled. I sure hope so. Nino glanced at Alya. “I mean…your mom’s the chef?” “And?”  “Um. Nothing.” He turned back to the fridge. “Well,” Marinette said, “it can’t be that hard. I mean, I know how to cook in theory—how to use a knife, the stove, that sort of thing. I just didn’t plan for this. Like, how are we supposed to decide what to make? How do we find a good recipe? Do we even have spices?” “I saw some salt and pepper on the dining room table,” Adrien said. Alya patted his shoulder. “Oh, sweetheart. Those aren’t spices.”

You know, now that the S5 finale aired, I can finally say goodbye to this piece of shit show. Not even gonna bother watching S6 or any future seasons or specials. They assassinated all of their characters at this point, the damage has been done. There is no point fixing it.
I'll see you all later when Awakening premises on the 28th.

The Madrigals and Anxiety
so, I think it's not a controversial statement to say that anxiety runs in the family... what I find oddly cute is that a lot of nervous ticks or outbursts are very similar to those of other family members, but let's proceed with order.
Alma, Isabela
Alma had it hard. I think homegirl is the culprit, but she probably had an anxious gene in her before everything.
do we need to explain what her anxiety looks like? absolute perfectionism to the point of insanity so people won't turn on her, constantly making Bruno check the future for possible dangers, self-soothing behaviours (asking Pedro for help, wearing the mourning shawl), always needing to keep a watchful eye on everyone, you name it.
The perfectionism moved straight through to Isabela. There's a whole song about not meeting expectations, so I don't think I need to go fruther into it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pepa
Pepa is another obvious one. Her anxiety is palpable throughout most of the movie and it is, unlike her mum, mostly related to things that are not life-or-death situations (Antonio's party needing to be perfect).
She is constantly seen spiralling and using self-soothing rituals (hair touching, "clear skies"), often to no avail.
Her mood swings and irritability outbursts are also proof of anxiety.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bruno
Before you come at me!! He clearly has OCD... It's in the script so it was meant like this. And I know people say he was just superstitious, but I come from a very superstitious culture and it's not like that 😭
I can prove it!!
Throwing salt. It is usually done after you have spilled it. Bruno had not spilled any salt before the throwing over the shoulder. It is an act that is meant to cancel bad luck from an extremely specific action that he had not done.
Knock knock knock knock knock knock on wood. You are supposed to knock twice, say it once, only after someone has said something good you don't wanna jinx or bad you wanna prevent. Bruno hasn't been talking to anyone in 10 years, it's just a ritual to him at this point OR it's a reaction to his own thoughts. Superstitious people don't do things based on their thoughts: that's OCD. Also the number of knocks and the one on the head is oddly specific and not related to any superstitious beliefs as far as I'm aware.
Fingers crossed. Again, you do that when you are hoping for something good, but nothing happened he might want to cross his fingers for, it's just another ritual. Also, all of these rituals are kind of contradicting each other (hoping for something/trying to prevent something), he's just trying to bring as much good luck as possible.
I'm not saying he is not superstitious, he very much is, but his superstition pathologized to the point of becoming an illness. This is not how someone who's simply superstitious acts.
He also has a generally nervous attitude and lots of self-soothing movements, like the rubbing his arm we'll get to later.
The only other explanation could be that he thinks he is the bad luck, but that still does not explain things like the crossed fingers.
Tumblr media
Julieta, Camilo, Mirabel
They don't look like they struggle a lot with anxiety (I am only talking about the actual condition, not genuine worry that has a reason of being like Casita breaking or not receiving a gift). They are all very accustomed to dealing with anxious family members though and they are good at it.
Mirabel is probably the more anxious among the three, but she is also an incredible supporter for Toñito, who's not getting his own section simply because his fear was very much justified, but for a literal 5yo his anxiety shows great promise of becoming just like his mum's.
Honourable mention in this section goes to Félix and Agustìn, we stan some supportive husbands and fathers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luisa
My baby. The first time we see her as being relevant plot-wise is literally because her eye was twitching. Her character arc is learning to chill. I rest my case.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dolores
Now, Dolores is a bit trickier, because she is not as loud as the rest of her family. She does always seem to be extremely on edge though and she is often doubting herself (she stopped believing someone was in the walls despite hearing Bruno for 10+ years because they told her it was not possible).
I don't know whether it's canon or if I've read too much fanfiction, but her room is supposed to have some degree of soundproofing, that she doesn't use because she needs to hear if her family needs help (Luisa's eye twitch).
Finally...
The similar twitches and anxious responses
The arm-rub of Luisa and Bruno (+ supportive sisters <3<3<3<3<3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The hand movement while screaming, like mother like daughter
