Apologies! I looked for your preferred pronouns but didnt spot them specifically so I’m going to use they/them just so I dont misgender you 😬

How did you come up with your werewolf? Did you have a clear vision of them? Or did you go through a couple versions before perfecting them?

Those are actually my preferred pronouns! They/them but I also accept he/him. I'm non binary, trans masc. If I ever get misgendered I try not to take it personally because I don't actually label it anywhere. The only thing I have on my profiles is 'Enby'. So Naoma started out very different when I was a kid. But they have grown with me as I've gotten older.

^ This is the first character I used for myself a LOOOOONG time ago.

^ Second version after I was allowed to be online.

^ Really short lived version

^This version I used for a really long time and made some minor adjustments a bit later on.

^Minor changes, got rid of the gold and just made the limbs black, added a stripe and tail pattern.

^Another set of minor changes, but started drawing more anthro rather than feral. But because people were getting too much NSFW art WITHOUT my permission I decided to make a whole new design for them.

^ I spent DAYS trying to figure out a design for Naoma. I wanted more natural colors and pattern. So after like 2 weeks or so I came up with this design.

^I ended up making making their limbs black again and stopped using gradients.

^But with a friends input and my own want, I changed up the pattern, added more red and changed the limbs color. It's been like this ever since. (Ref base is by twistedhound) Naoma means everything to me. They are me in every single way. I draw them being an Idiot, I draw them being sad, angry, hungry, depressed. The scars they have, I also have. Eye color, eyebrow buzz. hair style(The fluff being tied back into a little pony tail/bun). So this is them now. I know this thread was long and I'm really sorry for that, but I hope it was fun to see the evolution of my fursona. Small little tid bit, Naoma is a Eurasian Dire Werewolf and stands at 14ft tall on their toes. All the art in the thread is also by me over the years, except the ref sheet by Twistedhound

I recreated the older ones but they should be how they were.

It is something, that I owe the existence of my Fursona to Pony Town.

1 - This was the first ever version. Started as a white pegasus. I was not even trying to make the hair like aurora borealis on purpose, but when I realised it looks like that it felt very fitting.

2 - Still a pony, though now bat pony. I also changed the colors. I like these much more, though the markings still went through changes.

3 - This was the final design for the pony universe. I wanted to go wild with anything I liked. It was supposed to be mutation brought by drinking blood of a god (my MLP universe is weird).

4 - This was when I changed him from Ponysona to Fursona. I liked them too much to want it to be tied to something of not my full making.

5 - Decided to change the way her hands looks like and added face markings.

6 - The current design. I decided to drop the wings and make the horns smaller. Also the ears are not that tall anymore.

two anatomy practices trying to build critters from skeletons. first one is a monkey mutt, bottom is a....... mutt. already bored of the monkey and wanting to redo the bottom cfgsd

i am mentally disabled and struggle to visualize 3D images in my head, i can barely see images in my head period anymore. trying to draw is a nightmare because i'm going off memory, and not visual memories. just informational. so lots of reference images and 3D models are needed buT WAIT it's hard to take in 3D information as well. i'm constantly bumping into shit and making weird mistakes movement wise. so i bought some 3D models (toys. they're toys. but cool way... way too expensive ones...) to try and figure this shit out. ontop of all that i just can't focus or remember shit so i lose interest or forget what i'm doing constantly.

but i enjoy the challenge if i'll be honest. i have learning disabilities but i'm not intellectually disabled, so doing things that makes my mind work really helps keep me going. it's just a matter of following through mostly.

about the pieces themselves, the monkey was a mix of a bunch of different primates (mainly marmosets, sportive lemurs, and bush babies but others). and the other guy is like... dinosaur + crocodilian but a mammal / canine / kangaroo thing idk i'm just like "awoogoa i can't just choose one fucking animal for my sona like every other furry!!!!! i gotta choose 5439053405!!!!! cause animals are fucking RAD"

wait, tags. self inserts and sonas r separate things? i thought they were basically the same 🤔

Usually that's the deal, but with my Monstersona it's a bit more complex.

Let's start from the beginning: one must assume that all my self inserts are facets of me both in terms of personality and physicality (as they should. I am learning to love myself as I am ffs), but they still need to adapt to the world they're put in, which means there are some rules that I cannot break (but I will still bend and twist them to my likings where allowed) in order for them to fit the canon while still representing myself.

And that's the basics. Now, for the (r)evolution.

You see, despite being born as a self insert (or rather, the cursed appearance of another self insert), as the years went by, my Monstersona started changing and growing to the point of becoming their own character, free from the boundaries of the canon they previously had to be molded into: they have shed their original role, they no longer have to cut parts of themself to experience and interact with a fictional universe/story, for they've been reborn into something more.

They're me and I am them.

With time, they've grown on me and I started identifying with them more and more to the point that now they're what I would like to be in terms of appearance (the day I'll manage to make a fursuit for them it's over for y'all hdjdxbd). Peak body image. Gender, even. And it's not helping that I've learnt about otherkin and therianthropy because oh boy, I have been questioning some stuff lately and uhmmmmmmmmm. Yeah.....

Anyway!! Long story short, they are versatile: they're what I want to be perceived as and an icon of what I feel it's my true self (sona), but they can also turn go back to their roots as a self insert when needed, with minor tweakings in their appearance/lore/powers/etc. (see Blasphemous, GAOBAM, Deltarune...).

And that's it baby! Idk if it makes any sense!! It's too early to make essays aaaaaaaaa

By some sheer coincidence, just before the Pokemon leaks dropped I had this really vivid dream about an anthro cat character with magic powers. (Said magic powers worked just like the animus magic in Wings of Fire.) No one actually knew that he had the powers except for a few people, and he mostly used them for mischief. He had a whole backstory and everything, except for a name, and that sucks because I would totally have named my Sprigatito after him if my brain had bothered to conjure one up.
