ok so what if the reason bono!reader is scared of falling in love is because her mom left

because her dad has expressed how they were in love before she was born and that after he doesnt really know what happened

what if she subconsciously learned that she was unlovable because her own mother chose to leave her behind

what if she never expressed that to her father and it finally came up when he caught her with mick and after how they talked about why she didnt just tell him

that all this time people have expressed to her that they love her so deeply both platonic (the engineers, mechanics, strategists, etc.) and romantic (mick) but it never really stuck with her because she couldnt get over her mom not loving her enough to stay

and since she thought that everyone saw her as the perfect kid and person that if she admitted that there were parts of her that werent perfecy and their were parts of herself that are dark and twisty that they would also leave her like her mom did

because the things they loved about her were going to be overshadowed with the fact that she didnt feel loved even though they said they did

and she strives to be perfect in order for them not to leave her

bono thought that his ex leaving didnt affect her that much since she never really knew her, but it absolutely did

I agree with everything. Her mom's departure probably still haunts and she probably still has trouble closing cycles, leaving people when they're bad to her that's why she chose to stay single because she once dated a guy and he was absolutely terrible for her but she didn't wanna break up because she thought it mean giving up on him, not trying. somehow that's how she pictures her mom leaving: giving up the relationship with her dad and, even worse, giving her up. she knows mick is a good guy, she knows he's sweet and would never let his problems get to her the way her ex did, but they're good friends and starting to date would mean somehow -in her head- ruin the friendship, and what if he realizes later that he doesn't love her like her mom did? what happens when mick leaves her?

bono baby hates goodbyes, she would never show up to those work parties in the garage to say good bye to a team member, she would send them a gift, act as if they were not leaving, and cry all alone at home :( bono baby loves people but she's afraid people don't lover her back.

ahhhhh this scenario has been in the back of my brain for the longest time but-

imagine dom!jay coming home at like 3am when he said he’d be home at 11pm. he tried slipping under the covers silently and cuddled you, whispering im sorry’s to you until he felt better. the next day, you didnt say a word to him at breakfast, which is expected. he showered you with im sorrys and I love yous, but you just ignored him. he tried explaining that he went out drinking with the members, but that definitely wasnt an excuse not to tell you. It wasnt until he came home later that night when you finally said something to him. “princess?” jay called out, taking his coat off and setting his keys down, flowers and candy in his hand for you. he walked up the stairs and turned the corner to your shared bedroom, his steps halted. he saw he back of your figure, dressed to the tens in his favorite white lingerie perfecy paired with white thigh high socks. you seemed to be holding something, perhaps a gift for him he thought. he walked over to you, smiling to himself. “hey-“ he smiled, before you turned around. his eyes traveled down to what was in your hand, to his extreme shock; the flogger he used on you when you were acting bratty or being bad. “welcome home…….. princess” you said, toying with the tails. you fake smiled with dead eyes, biting your lip as you pushed him on the bed.

and the whole night, you’re just saying the exact same things he tells you when he doms you 😵‍💫😵‍💫
