Sometimes Shane wonders about what happened to his dad, wonders why he left him and his mom, wonders why he loved them so little. Sometimes Shane wishes he could meet him, good old Jonathan Walsh, and show him exactly what his carelessness caused. Maybe they'd talk. Maybe they'd sort out all the differences. Maybe Shane would get the chance to punch Jonathan and release all the hurt of having to grow up without a father around. Left to be confused and scared and called the son of a bastard.

But Jonathan wasn't entirely to blame. Annie had her faults, too. She wasn't the mother of the year in King County. Bare minimum doesn't excuse her terrible habits, no amount of kisses from the past could heal the wounds that Annie left. But Shane finds comfort in that she did more than Jonathan. In the very least was there at the start, didn't leave him completely, was close enough to visit. Underneath a tombstone, next to Byron and Jean, but still within King County.

Sometimes Shane hates his father so much. Only knows his face from an old photo that Jean held onto and put into an album, one single photo, but sees him in the faces of the Walkers that are put down. Brown hair and curls like his, brown eyes, light freckles across the neck. Sometimes Shane hopes he's dead. Preferably from those Geeks who prowl, torn and ripped to pieces, screaming in agony. But sometimes Shane feels sorry for Jonathan. Hopes he's happy wherever he is, wherever he ended up, hopes he found the dreams that he couldn't find with his son and wife. Sometimes, but not every time.

Sometimes Jonathan Walsh crosses his son's mind. And when he does, he lingers for awhile.

KidKillerLaw HCs - General

When Law is around for an extended amount of time, it's not uncommon for Kid's coat to go missing. Law likes to wear it or use it as a blanket because one, the style of coat reminds him of Corazon, and two, it smells like Kid.

If Law is awake when Kid finds him, he'll take the coat back, but if he's asleep, Kid will leave him alone. Killer is likely to join Law in taking a nap under the coat

Kid and Law get crazy bed head, and they will somehow look very disheveled when they wake up. Killer wakes up looking perfect.

Law is touched starved. He tries not to show it in public often, but sometimes he will walk up behind Kid or Killer when they're busy and just lean his head against them.

In private, Law is the little spoon who likes to be squished between his two partners.

Kid isn't big in PDA, but he doesn't say anything when Law leans against him. Killer doesn't mind the PDA, and when he can, he will wrap an arm around Law.

They all wear makeup to various degrees. Kid likes to wear eyeliner and lipstick, but he has worn a full face of makeup before. Killer prefers just lipstick. Law uses concealer on his eyebags, and sometimes he wears eyeliner.

Killer is the best cook of the three. He does most the cooking for the Kid Pirates after all(with the help of Heat sometimes). He knows all their favorite foods and what they do and don't like. He thinks cooking for them shows his appreciation.

Kid is banned from the kitchen. Man cannot cook to save his life, and he has caused more fires than Killer can remember. Law is a decent cook, not the greatest but not bad. However, he forgots to eat a lot so most of the time, Killer has to cook for him to get him to eat.

Law and Kid can and will get so immersed in their hobbies that they forgot to eat or sleep. Killer is there to snap them out of it and force them to take a break. They act annoyed, but they really appreciate it

Short Masaomi headcanon before I head out, but I feel like he's kind of a bad driver. Since he's always so busy and constantly getting driven around to save time looking for parking and such, I would bet he doesn't often put his driver's license to good use. So, in the rare event that he does drive, he sorta drives like a newbie. I'm talking 10 miles under the limit, shaky hands on the steering wheel, abrupt stopping, and constant confusion on what street signs say. When Seijuro gets his own license, he's constantly having to help his dad figure out how to drive and is also perpetually in fear of losing his life whenever he has to sit in the passenger seat.

Tf2 mercs + birthdays hc:

I don't Scout likes birthday parties. Mostly because they bring up bitter memories of deflated balloons and empty chairs: how he was stuck in a beat-up birthday hat with nobody else around, all at work or in jail or in a fistfight, waiting for a man he never knew to come up and celebrate with him. He for sure had faith his dad would eventually show up. Eventually I think he stopped caring about birthdays--or acting like he cared--and left the celebratory events to someone else.

Demo has mixed feelings on them. On one hand, opportunity to get wasted + have fun + party + good food. On the other, his birthday parties were always. Tense. Very overbearing parents and all that--made it a little hard to enjoy his presents when it felt like there were strings attached. Overall, the sentiment is positive. Some of his better memories came from big DeGroot birthday celebrations, full Scottish style.

Engie doesn't really…Have any I don't think? In my min his family celebrated them much--he doesn't strike me as the kind of person to care much about birthdays.

Heavy loves them! They remind him of his family and his sisters. He's an acts-of-service kinda person, so he'd often decorate their cabin when birthday season ran around. Sometimes his ma would scrape enough food by to make some banger piroshki. He treasures the warm memories he has of his birthday. Sniper is in a similar vein as Scout: bitter! Especially post comics Sniper. Birthdays molded from a small celebratory event and a good slice of pie to a harsh reminder of what he lost. A reminder of the people he lost all for a bunch of useless fucking rocks. I think he's not a big guy for grand gestures anyway, so when his birthday rolls around (if he even remembers it) he doesn't do much other than call home to a phone that'll never pick up.

Medic likes celebrations and tends to go all out. Okay, yes, he is being dramatic, but his general philosophy live life to the fullest and cuss out anyone who doesn't like it. In my mind he has a thing for birthday steak, not cake: probably from the whole being the kid of a butcher thing.

Spy has a very. odd stance on birthday parties. She never got any, I don't think--old money family and all that--and the loneliness which came from her birthday isn't something she's fond of. That being said, he's got the energy of someone who would like birthday parties. In a very odd way. Spy is the best at giving people well-matched gifts and, on occasion, some scrapbook pages. Don't ask how he knows that or where she got that picture. For you own health, just. Don't.

Doing my own version of this post explaining why Mhoirbheinn is so doggone obsessed with Balmoral.

There has always been a rumor mill in regards to the king and his Royal Protector. They appear to be on good terms despite their positions, even bantering and addressing each other in a casual manner. This doesn’t interrupt their business and it’s not as though they are together all the time. So, professionally, no one has any reason to question it. Most only have a general idea of Balmoral and Mhoirbheinn prior to their current status. They both had served in the military when they were teenagers and by their own skill had worked up to where they are currently. It is difficult recalling a time they weren’t in each other’s company. Some would assume that they were childhood friends but those that have survived long enough could say that it was in through the military that they met and had gotten to know each other. And that seems…odd in some respects. Because there is unspoken devotion that is carried by both. And because neither speak of it to anyone else, no one truly knows their dynamic. Whether they are simply a chatty royal and their more stoic watchman. They are long time friends that simply continue their shenanigans to this day. If they are dating or simply fucking…no one knows. But there are many bombastic side eyes in regards to the times that they are pointedly alone.

Mhoirbheinn, likewise, had had very few close relationships before meeting Balmoral. Namely only one-- his glamoured mother. Even with the love and care she showed Mhoirbheinn up until her death, even then the years spent together retroactively took on a different tone in Mhoirbheinn's mind after the incident where he removed her glamour and subsequently realized she would, if allowed her own mind again, truthfully always view him as a monster and hate him. He lost her that day in a way far before she was actually cruelly taken from him by his brother.

After that and the following massacre, Mhoirbheinn had nothing. His mother dead, everything and everyone he had ever known all gone. He had never set foot much farther than the manor, and his only purpose in life-- being a potential spare heir-- had been burned to ashes by his own hands. So Mhoirbheinn, in the course of his confinement in the dungeons for the murders, was completely aimless and alone in life. No one to care for him, no one to notice if he even died. But then he met another soldier, one who he'd end up chatting with whenever it was his shift to watch the prisoner.

Mhoirbheinn had never had any friends, much less interacted with anyone his age, but here was this person who was witty and interesting and actually enjoyable to talk to. Mhoirbheinn began to look forward to his visits. Mhoirbheinn would also attempt 'break outs', more exercises in seeing if he could manage it against the soldier more than anything. It was during one of these though, where Balmoral had Mhoirbheinn pinned, weapon to his neck, that the other could have easily slit Mhoirbheinn's throat and be done with it. It'd be the easiest thing, wouldn't it? If Mhoirbheinn actually escaped on his watch, Balmoral would undoubtedly pay for it with his commanders. It was the logical, albeit cold-blooded thing to do, but logical and cold-blooded was Mhoirbheinn always came to expect. It was what he was used to.

But Balmoral drew away.

That single act of mercy, of a kindness with no obvious benefit from it, some of the first that Mhoirbheinn had ever experienced, was kind of the true start of it all for Mhoirbheinn. Even after his release he found himself gravitating towards Balmoral and staying around him because he had no place else to go in the world. The only, albeit tenuous, tether he had was to this soldier that he was somewhat friendly with and who had been nice to him.

Balmoral came into Mhoirbheinn's life during a time where Mhoirbheinn had lost everything and had nothing else to cling to. Balmoral then became that thing. Regarding the healthiness of Mhoirbheinn so closely attaching himself so wholly to someone this close after a traumatic event while not having had the time to travel and/or grow his experiences and expand his horizons? Wellllll yeahhhhh, not great. There's a definite unhealthy co-dependency that had developed at that time as a result of both of their respective pasts and traumas. Even if neither knew it about the other, they both needed someone who they could be close with and trust him. Mhoirbheinn feels like he owes Balmoral immensely for the support and strength that the other had, even unknowingly, granted him during a very turbulent time in his life.

And whenever Bal looked at him with love in his eyes, his sight was clear and focused-- for the first time in his entire life, eyes that looked at him lovingly without a single trace of glamour within them.

I think the funniest thing is how if someone were to try to bring up Emrys betraying Rome and siding with Vortigern as some kind of terrible thing he did he just…wouldn’t react. He doesn’t care what people think of his actions because he’s so firmly convinced that he did what was right.

Oh the other hand calling him Ambrosius is a surefire way to actually make him angry. He doesn’t even like it when Uther calls him that despite allowing his troublesome younger brother to do so.

KidKillerLaw HCs - Getting Together

(They're my favorite One Piece ship,, they mean a lot to me)

Kid and Killer grew up together, and they had been in a relationship for about a year when they got to Sabaody Archipelago.

Kid enjoyed teasing Law when they first met, especially when it came to battling the marines, but he also found him attractive during the battle. Killer would later share he felt the same.

Kid and Law did end up having a conversation before they both left the Archipelago for good, and their crews seems to be on decent terms with each other

From then on, they kept appearing on each other's lives. Whether it was the Heart Pirates resurfacing around where the Kid Pirates were or the Kid Pirates docking on the same island as the Heart Pirates.

During one of these unplanned meetings, Killer let it slip that he was afab, and Law mentions that he was too and asked if Killer needed help with anything. Law gets Killer on T, and keeps the door open to give him any gender affirming surgery one day.

This really pulls on Killer's heart strings, which in turn pulled on Kid's. They agreed to start officially pursuing Law as a third partner. Law,, can't pick up on a social cues and doesn't realize this

Before Law becomes a Warlord and after the Kid Pirates lose the battle against Shanks, Law and his crew helps patch up the Kid Pirates and stay around while they're recovering. Law was the one to amputate Kid's arm.

One night when Law is doing a quick check up in Kid's and Killer's room, Kid stops him from leaving the room, but words can't come out to tell him why. Killer motions Law to sit on the bed, and he did.

Few words were spoken that night, and none of them will tell anyone how it happened. But when their captain never appeared in the morning, Penguin and Shachi found Law fast asleep, squished between Killer and Kid. They left them alone, but teased the crap out of Law later in the day.

No one ever says anything. It's just understood that the captain of the Heart Pirates and the captain and First Mate of the Kid Pirates were in a relationship, and that their crews were now allies.
