SO I know I’m like, super late to the party, but I finally got my hands on Robin 2021 and there is literally no one for me to talk to about it so now I’m just screaming my thoughts into the void ✌

First off, before i even bought the first two issues, I read through a lot of other people’s opinions on it to kinda get an idea of where it was going characterization-wise for Damian, and because of all the mixed reactions, I figured I should just read it myself and find out. Now I am the FURTHEST thing from a comic book authority, so like, this is truly just an opinion piece but if it convinces anyone to give the run a chance, then yay!!! Honestly, I’m really glad I gave it a shot because I’m genuinely hooked! I’m actually excited about this series (and it scares me lol)!!!

I'm gonna separate my thoughts into two sections: characters, and story, mainly for my own ease, but also if anyone cares more about one thing or the other it's easier to distinguish. But,  the line is a little blurry so if I end up getting a little too much into the characterization in the story section, just bear with me lmao. OH and I'm going to try and keep this as un-spoilery as possible but we'll just have to see. SOOOOOOOO

Characters

I think it goes without saying that Melnikov's art is absolutely gorgeous, and really does show how much Damian has grown up. It makes me want to sob its so beautiful, everyone is so pretty, even the guy that looks like a washed up, high as fuck Tony Stark lmao. But moving on to the actual characters,

Rose Wilson

I honestly don't know too much about Rose, I haven't read enough about her to say anything about her characterization and how it compares to her other appearances, or whether or not she is OOC, but so far, I'm enjoying her taking up the "big sis" role, like, immediately lmao.

I don't know how much I trust her yet, but I definitely get the vibe that even if she does betray Dami in any way, she's probably gonna stick her neck out for Dami again and he's probably gonna do the same.

I'm really intrigued about her motivations for being here. Obviously, Respawn has something to do with it, but I want to know what's up with that. I've seen a lot of theories and I'm so excited. Also side note, that Black Swan chick is hot, and I can't wait to see more of her in action!!!

I feel like Ravager knows a WHOLE lot more than Dami does about the interesting things going on on the island, mainly because she's been doing a lot more sitting and waiting than he has as of yet, but I'm hoping to see more of the two of them doing detective-y sleuthing together. We love a mysteryyyy

Flatline

Okay but real talk, why does she look like a character straight out of Monster High

Honestly tho, I dig it. It's cute! She's cute! She isn't annoying (yet) but I don't know if I care too much about her other than she would make a cute friend for Dami.

I think the problem with DC is that they know people LOVE Harley Quinn and they try so hard to make characters just like her but it always falls short, so honestly I am a little wary of her character development in this run, but I'm willing to give her a shot since her little coffin purse on the cover of the second issue is so damn cute. I'm a slut for character design, okay?

Oh speaking of Flatline and Dami, I don't ship it and I don't want them to force a romantic relationship into Damian's "coming of age"/"soul-searching" moment okay? Because that's what this run is about, at least to me! More on that in the story section!

They're literally 13/14 years old. That's 8th-9th grade, babes lets think about that for a minute

Also let's stop the whole "lets introduce a female character just to make her a love interest!" bullshit okay?

Basically, Flatline is interesting, or at least has the potential to be, but I don't want to get my hopes up because DC is notorious for disservicing their female characters 😕

I think the mixed reaction to her is valid, I don't think she's had much time to make a solid impression yet, so I guess you'd have to read it for yourself. Personally, I don't understand why people immediately hate her, especially because she's like, 14, and what kid that age isn't annoying? like at least a little bit lmao! But, yeah. I don't trust her either but literally everyone on this island is sketchy at least and a murderer at best, so hey 🤷‍♀️

Damian

His new outfit lmaoooo at first I was like "WHaT is this child wearing? You'd think Dick would have rubbed off on him and taught him what good taste looks like" but then I saw the later outfit, with the gold patterning and those sleeeevessssss ugh and I take it all back. A Fashion Icon TM. Truly stunning. A sight to behold. So proud, look at him go 😪

I think there's a lot of different opinions on Damian's characterization in this run, and I can definitely see where its coming from, but I disagree with the notion that Damian has been done dirty and reverted to a blood-thirsty, feral child.  And I have a LOT of opinions on the whole "feral" thing regarding Damian period (but that's for another time).

I don't think of Dami's rampage as a regression for his character. He's letting of emotions right then and I think its very similar to him venting. Its just not verbal, its physical and he knows he's not going to have to grapple with the consequences of his actions on the first kill. He knows he's technically not doing anything wrong.

He is clearly upset at Bruce and his failure to protect Alfred, and while Dami and Bruce are really often described as being very similar personality-wise, they are still distinctly different individuals who came to their current moral codes in vastly different ways. Bruce came to his "no killing" rule on his own; he made that decision for himself. It wasn't taught to him, it was a moment-of-truth kind of situation. Damian, on the other hand is in a vastly different situation.

Dami is, I think, at the beginning of the climb to his own moment-of-truth. He is in his rebellious phase like Dick, where he's gone off to spread his wings. It's not his conscious intention (at least that's not the vibe I got from reading the first two issues), but its directly underlying his "mission".

Damian is growing out of the expectations of his parents and into his own person. We all know he's been thrown from one moral code to another, both drastically different from each other. I don't think its a regression for him to lose his way a little, because realistically, he's going to have to in order to find it, specifically a moral compass that he forged on his own. He's just what? 14? Like hell a kid his age wants to listen to any form of authority. He's as stubborn as it comes. Damian needs to come to his decision regarding the path he takes in life on his own. It can't be made for him. He's seen and lived both sides of the coin, and I don't think he should be forced just yet to choose a side or pave a middle ground, but I do think that he should get the opportunity to see and experience all the gray areas on his own.

I think I'll transition from characterization to story here, because let's face it, this story is about Damian dealing with his confused emotions right now, in the wake of losing Alfred, a man that kind of acted like a grounding presence, a voice of reason, or a moral compass for him (and honestly Bruce and the rest of the bat crew if we're honest).

Story

So there's a lottttt going on in the story that is really enticing and exciting, and I'm really interested to see how it all plays out.

All the rules to the tournament are so, sketchy? Like they don't sound like they are meant to be sketchy, its basic safety and guidelines or whatever but with all the glowy green shit and the stakes of the tournament? Yeah, you can bet your ass its the "no fighting at night" and other shit is gonna be broken, and that's likely when the fun begins *insert evil laughter*😈

I was slightly put off by the whole "let me teach you to have fun" thing with Rose, because it's not like Dick, Steph, Jon, and like the Titans haven't done that with him too, but eh, not something I'm too concerned about. It's definitely just a segway to get us introduced to more characters that might become Damian's friends which will be interesting considering what Mother Soul said about fraternizing.

And that's another thing! I want Damian to make some friends! I know he already has some, but here's the thing: I think he's already been struggling with belonging, and he's definitely been feeling the disconnect between his life and other kids', whether they're supers/vigilantes or not. I think it'd be nice to see Dami have the experience of meeting people who he at first thinks are just like him!! and then realizing that maybe he doesn't really fit in here either, and that it's okay to feel like you don't belong, as isolating as it may feel at times. It just means you have a set of values. I want him to realize that its not always a bad thing, and you learn more about yourself and your own heart this way.

And from there,,, lets talk about the thing that stuck out to me the most in these two issues! GUILT!! It's mentioned SOO many times already, and I think its going to be a really fun, heartbreaking, and interesting aspect to explore about Damian. Is it guilt about his actions? Leaving behind family? Not being able to save Alfred? Not being a perfect example of Robin? He may call himself Robin but he doesn't sport the OG look or symbol like before. I love that his guilt takes on the form of Alfred though, or at least his conscious. I think it'd be really interesting to see this conscious disappear when Dami strays too far from his center, and when he finds it again, it reappears.

I really think that seeing Damian's actions in this run as a failure of character development is an unfair assessment, though. You can't do everything right in order to grow! You have to screw up, lose your way, experiment with life to find your fit, right?

Something tells me he doesn’t care for the tournament itself, but the end result, and the people behind it and more about WHY it was hidden from him. I mean he finds out the tournament TRULY begins once everyone has died once and tHEN he kill everyone? Felt to me less like a “killing spree” as everyone put it to a calculated decision to get the tournament going. He literally cuts Mother Soul off in the middle of her speaking to start fighting at the beginning

Anyway, just my thoughts lol. I do have some issues with the past two issues, and I might make a separate post about that, but honestly not enough for me to dislike Robin 2021 so far. I mean, besides the very obvious white-washing in the second issue, because DC can absolutely do better. And they should. It’s like they thought we wouldn’t notice???? But besides that, story and characterization-wise I’m looking forward to more. Here’s to hoping it stays that way, just with a better colorist!

Trolls Ideas and Maybe-HCs

Just some Trolls headcanons (sorta). Had to write them down before I forget again. Might actually scrap a few....

   Indie Trolls aren’t really their own tribe. Instead, the label “Indie” indicates Trolls that have left their parent tribe to explore the world, their music evolving and adapting to their environments and experiences. Usually, these Indie Trolls came from the Rock tribe, most of them very confident in their toughness to survive out there in the world beyond and probably rebelling against their parents (the latter of which usually ends up with a search party being sent out and the runaway being grounded for life, after getting many backslaps and hearty congratulations for STICKIN IT TO THE MAN if only temporarily) 

   No Pop Troll has actually left to explore and become an Indie due to traumatic Bergen holidays

   The Techno tribe’s dash ability cannot go through solid objects. They’ve tried. Best case scenario, they got a concussion from smacking into said solid object (namely walls) too hard. Worst case scenario, and thankfully this had only happened a handful of times and none fatal, they find a part of themselves stuck INTO the solid object. Very painful and resulting in the loss of stuck body part (think intangibility, but solidifying while still stuck in something)

    Rock Trolls are not so much fireproof as fire-resistant. They can still get burns if they stay in the lava for too long, though they do heal quicker from burns than other tribes

    Every single Rock Troll has been dared to jump into their main / biggest volcano’s caldera at least once. And they’ve all accepted it and jumped into said lava at least once. And after getting rescued, got yelled at by each and every health worker, at least once. Bonus cool points if you do it again and with an acceptable flip

    Country Trolls spend at least an hour each day for a siesta. Especially if they’re working in the fields

    Both Country Trolls and Rock Trolls like spicy food

    Only some Funk Trolls like spicy food too, especially curry, but most of those live in a smaller and static desert town instead of Vibe City

    Whether because of shared far-reaching ancestry or not, both Rock Trolls and Techno Trolls can hatch with big eyes (tho more for Techno Trolls than Rock). These big eyes, and bigger pupils, help see better in the darkness of underground tunnels / cooled vents and deep ocean depths, respectively

   Classical Trolls can be either rather scatterbrained or hyper-focused, the latter of which is usually when they’re playing / practicing their instruments. The giant metronome in their village not only keeps time for their music, but also literally as a timekeeper. At the top of the hour, it plays a loud but harmonious melody to remind people in case they forgot any appointments they have, meal time, etc

   During the Bergen escape, King Peppy hid both Harp and Pop String in his hair. He let Little baby Poppy play with it as a distraction from the scary noises of pickaxes & shovels tearing through the ground and some of the other Trolls’ terrified screaming. He also quickly made sure to tell Baby Poppy to put it back between the hair strands when she was done. She did; she’s a good baby after all and likes her Dada being happy and proud of her. Sadly, she forgot all about the pretty glowy string in favour of the cowbell, which was a gift from Dada and gifts are the bestest!

   When the Pop ancestor played all the strings, other genres got caught in the melody and were converted. Smidge, Biggie, Fuzzbert, Legsly, Skyscraper, etc are descendants of those converted Trolls

   Because this was the 1st time anyone tried to play all the strings under a single genre, some of the converted Trolls were able to keep some of their free will. So when the other Tribe ancestors stole back their strings, they managed to save some of the converted Trolls, voluntary or as an unwitting distraction for their escape. Unfortunately, no one knew how to turn them back, not even the Pop ancestor after having noticed that their tribe is suddenly a lot bigger. Eventually, they began to develop music, that, while mostly Pop, had enough of its own flavor to be considered a Sub-Genre, usually a different language or accent. This is why the Bounty Hunters have the basic Pop Troll shape

   Notably, the Funk ancestor managed to save a couple of extremely sparkly Trolls. They later became Disco Trolls

   Before their UFO, the Funk tribe traveled across the desert from oasis to oasis that were scattered throughout. In one of the bigger ones, and deep within the desert, they managed to create a town for their older and less-able members to settle down. Once the UFO was built, some moved in and others stayed in the town

   This town was where the rescued Trolls stayed, especially the Disco Trolls. The rescued Trolls even had a section of the town all to themselves and were a bit isolationist. Unfortunately, this was built and perpetuated more out of the Funk Trolls’ fear that the rescued Trolls would lose their battle of resistance against the call of Pop and leave to return to the Pop tribe, therefore telling them where they, and their Funk string, were hidden

   The sparkly Trolls that didn’t escape eventually became the Glitter Trolls of the Pop tribe

   Before the Pop ancestor stole the strings, there were a lot of mixed couplings and some of the children even had bits of physical features from each of their parents. After the separation, most of these mixed families were torn apart, whether by choice of following their own genre or by force via Pop conversion. Over time, these mixed physical features were essentially bred out until they more resemble their tribe’s single genre. However, sometimes these physical differences pop back up. Whether Branch is descended from a pre-Separation rock troll mixing or from a converted one is up for debate (like how every human is far, far, FAR distantly related to Africa, so not exactly a direct Rock-descendant)

   After the separation, the Pop ancestor faced backlash from their own tribe, notably the ones that had lovers and family from another genre. But the converted Trolls defended their master and so the scrapbook’d history, in the Pop ancestor’s pride, told of the cause of the separation being about musical disagreements instead of a takeover

   The truth of the separation was kept only to the Royal family. After a generation or two, the Royals began to fear what the other tribes would do to them out of retaliation for trying to take over. So they kept to their isolation, discouraging their tribe members from seeking out their origins or distant family members, especially if they had physical indications of such

   This fear got so bad that they wouldn’t contact for help when the Bergens invaded and captured the Pop Trolls

   After a few particularly bad Trollstices (there must have been a Bergen baby boom), the Royals were desperate enough to try to call out for help. Unfortunately, their numerous attempts failed as the critters they used to send out their letters were seen as pests to be exterminated by the Bergens and were promptly swatted or squished. Any Troll that managed to slip through the bars were promptly eaten. Much sadness was to be had at the loss of some of their closest friends. Not wanting to lose more of their friends and discouraged by all their failures, they stopped trying

   The other tribes barely knew that there were Bergens except for passing rumors brought by Bounty Hunters and Indie Trolls that saw them from afar. To the other tribes, they were big, ugly creatures that tend to destroy stuff in their way in anger and misery. Since their own tribes weren’t at immediate risk, they didn’t think too much of them except to hide themselves a little more or perhaps move to a more secure location

   The Techno tribe were actually settled closer to the main land, like the beach, but rumors of the Bergens had them fleeing a little farther into the ocean depths. The Funk tribe upgraded the boosters on their UFO

   If anyone (mainly older generations and the leaders) noticed or figured out that these giants seemed to have settled near where the Pop tribe were supposed to be (believing that they haven’t moved at all from the Troll tree since the separation), they kept it to themselves. A few of the more vindictive ones may have called it karmic justice

And that’s all I’ve got for now. I got tired (exhaustion tends to lead to rapid-fire ideas popping up tho). I've also got some AU ideas, but I'll post them separately. This is starting to get a little too long...

Overall, 75.4% of the total vote went in favor of the animation this week, with 33.8% of viewers stating they felt as though they were watching a movie, 32.4% enjoying the fluidity, and 9.2% enjoying the upgrade from the stiffer animation in the previous season. 10.6% felt the rotoscoping and cinematic shots were a little too over the top for an anime, and 10.6% are indifferent. A small handful aren’t enjoying the cinematic animation at all.

To recap, “Grice” is the name of the person who recruited Grisha Yeager into the Restorationist group, and is the one who was kicked off the wall for the restorationist titans to chase after once they were transformed by Marley. Not sure yet. But, Falco and Colt seem to be really caring and aware of how the Marlyeans treat Marly-Eldians (at least compared to the other warrior candidates). Also, when we saw their parents they seemed kind too, showing lots of concern for Colt. Maybe they learnt what the former restorationist/other Grice was doing and his cause of death and sent their kids to the warrior program for the same reason Grisha and Dina did Zeke? My bet is Colt & Falco are the restorationist Grice's nephews?

Pieck deserves a colorful pie chart, and she got one! 25.7% say she’s best girl, 22.9% think she’s utterly adorable. 13.6% of viewers already knew about Pieck before getting to this point and were unsurprised. At a tie, 11.4% of voters think that it’s amazing, or they were shocked to find out that the quadrupedal nightmare titan is really just a short, cute woman.

I worked it out last episode since the armbands appeared to indicate the 'type/status' of Eldians, but I was a bit surprised last episode I thought from the trailer the red bands may be special lineages i.e. Ackerman, Oriental clan, and Riess/Fritz. Still think she may be from the oriental clan though since the only characters we've seen with a similar appearance to her are Mikasa and her mother.

While we did get teased about Ymir’s fate in Season 3, seeing the scene in full can definitely have more of an impact. 37.5% of respondents have accepted the notion of Ymir dying, and feel that it was a decent end for her character, all things considered. 22.9% are in complete and total anguish over her fate, and 20.1% are simply just disappointed and had hoped to see more of her. A very small percentage think that this is actually a red herring, and that Ymir is somehow still alive somewhere.

This arc isn't really doing it for me. The story is only interesting when it focused on the 104th.

If their goal is to make me sympathize with the Warriors it ain't working, I frankly don't give a crap about their sob stories and want to see Eren and friends wreck shit for them

Animation and graphics quality is amazing. The sea was CGI too which feels a bit too detailed compared to other things. The plot and vibe is amazing. I like the WW2 style of things. There are so many interactions coming just the thought makes me hyped up. I can easily rewatch it and notice new details and i enjoy it too. Feels really packed and intense.

Solid, loved the animation props to MAPPA, cant wait to see Reiner's character development.

Kinda just people walking around with HELLA ptsd.  Overall kinda vibey Very reminiscent of seas 3 part 1. I will say kinda tgf about these knew kids accept Colt, just wanna see the ogs and Jeans side part. I also HATE Reiner but.........dare I say.....he's growing in me???? Not gabi tho 

Great episode, the trailer's beginning to make a lot more sense now. I didn't expect that guy with the long blonde hair declaring Eren as the enemy (from the trailer) to be part of the Tybur family (maybe I'm wrong here but he looked identical to one of the Tybur family members in the photo Zeke showed.) I assumed he was maybe the Marley leader haha. I think he may be the warhammer titan but it's hard to tell at this point. Regarding the Tybur family, another curious thing is how they are celebrated internationally not just domestically for their help during the great titan war. I am curious whether Marley only treat the Tybur family well because if they didn't that would create issues globally? It seems like the Tybur's have lots of power. But, I wonder if the war hammer titan will be a letdown... I thought it would be the 'big boss' of the titans but after learning that titan doesn't go through training like the other titan shifters and never fought I feel like it's a 50/50 on whether the shifter will be strong or not... I also feel like the guy Falco spoke to was Eren, and this could hint at Eren noticing and possibly trying to indoctrinate Falco? and he was possibly watching Reiner talk to the kids? That was probably Pieck though. Curious how Pieck's father was shown but not mother, he also didn't look like he was from the oriental clan maybe we have another Mikasa on our hands (half Ackerman/Oriental clan) that would be cool, maybe a little bit fanservicey tho.

Ok, so. My dsmp fantasy au.

First off, we've got Philza, who is an Aasimar. (Basically half angel) He doesn't appear to have wings most of the time, but when he does, run. He's full powered and TERRIFYING. For a long time, he thought he was just a normal human dude who just had an insatiable wanderlust. Then, in one of his journeys, he got a girlfriend, and they became the best battle banter couple ever. It's awesome. One day, due to plot reasons that I haven't decided, they get in a battle with a small group of soldiers from a raiding army (with a few other people probably). They got slightly seperated, as you do, but he wasn't too worried, because his girlfriend could hold her own. But then she screamed because she got slashed in the stomach badly. Phil rushes over, SLAUGHTERS the dudes who attacked her, and cradles her in his arms, trying to save her. She dies, but her last words were something like "I knew you wouldn't abandon me." So Phil is PISSED, and suddenly dark wings sprout from his back, and his eyes go all light green glowy, and the soldiers who didn't run at that sight got murdered. After all the enemy soldiers are dead, he promptly passes out.

After that, he wanders around some more, and eventually becomes the protecter of a town. A raiding army comes in with the same insignia as the group that he and his gf were fighting when she died, and well. At this point Phil has a good handle on his power. He knows how to keep control of it. But the rage that fills him when he sees this group trying to take this town from him? He's not having it. He loses control again, and says something along the lines of "You cannot take these people from me too" and yeah. I'm sure you can see where this is going. After that he joins the rebellion to defeat that army.

Second off, we've got Wilbur. Wilbur is also an Aasimar. His voice sort of has some undertones of guitar chords in it, and it sounds cool. He got adopted by Phil *waves hand* sometime. For the longest time, Phil had no idea why that was, but one day Wil talked about feeling like he had wings, and then bring sad when he remembered he didn't, and Phil, who experienced that same thing was like, ah. He's Aasimar.

Techno, a beasthide shifter, probably got adopted when Phil was protecting that city. When he saw the army, he grabbed his weapons, and rushed to defend the city, even though it seemed hopeless. Phil saw this, and really asked "is anyone going to adopt this child?" and didn't wait for an answer.

Tommy's human, but Phil keeps an eye on him just in case, because fate hates him, apparently. (Tommy really is human tho. I think.) Tommy had tried to steal from Techno, and Techno laughed and called his stance pathetic or smth, and Tommy tried to argue, so Techno taught him how to actually stand and throw a punch and stuff, and oh look, Tommy's getting dragged to their home to get some food and to learn how to fight, and he just never left, because Wilbur needed a babysitter for Fundy who wouldn't read stuff like the Iliad to him.

Tubbo's a tiefling, and Tommy kind of found him one day, and was like "yes this is my brother now we're keeping him" and Phil was too nice to say no.

spoilers for Bounty of Blood under the cut, keep reading at ur own peril. Also some Guardian Takedown spoilers for anyone who hasn’t beat it yet

tl;dr: a comparison between something taken from BL2 and a thing taken from Bounty of Blood. more spoilery tl;dr below the cut.

also the siren thing is not spoilers so i’ll share it here for anyone curious, it’s just this: siren tattoos are blue but when lily absorbs eridium in 2, they turn pinkish/purple. just like how vaults do from bl1 to bl2. they’re white/blue in bl1, then purple-pink in bl2 (and tps), y’know, after Eridium begins erupting from the ground. just a neat little detail i noticed that im not entirely sure was intentional but im gonna believe it is.

tl;dr: Gythian Blood = Core and the Ruiner is of Eridian Origin even tho everyone in the DLC likes to say it was created with Jakobs’ bioengineering. disclaimer: idk if I’ve found every hidden ECHO so I may be missing a few things but I have done every side quest and took ample screenshots of all important dialogue in the DLC : )

it's not like we can do an actual comparison because we have no idea what the natural fauna of gehenna was like before jakobs came and mutated everything with core unlike pandora where we know what skags and rakk and shit were like BEFORE the eridium crust erupted. 

altho!!! there's a neat comparison between joey ultraviolet and rose. like obviously he wasn't getting tattoos and was just doing lines of crushed up eridium but the point stands they both have glowy eyes and unique powers so i don't necessarily think this means rose is a siren just because she has magic powers especially when we know she got the whistling passed down to her from her grandmother. 

especially because we've never seen a siren interact with core before. altho that leaves the question we have seen core tattoos now what are eridium tattoos like? actually rose's tattoos were on her right arm obviously she isn't a siren as we know them right now (I saw a post on reddit where people thought rose was a siren) 

of course that brings up the point perhaps siren tattoos ARE eridium tattoos. but then we hear the general's log about how the devil riders were tattooing a man with core and blood so obviously they're not ‘naturally’ occurring unlike siren tattoos. so odds are they're probably not equivalents but something interesting i thought of while thinking about this is how well siren tattoos compare to the Vaults from borderlands 1 and borderlands 2″

there are some things i wanna note

1) People throughout the DLC say the Ruiner was created by the Jakobs corp (the company) thru bio-engineering but I’m 99% sure that’s not true. The paperwork seems to me like they found the egg somewhere on Gehenna and decided to roll and experiment with it like all corporations do when they find weird alien shit. so maybe they experimented with whatever was inside the egg, but I don’t think they actually created it entirely

2) The Ruiner’s design reminds me a lot of the Warrior.

3) Core immediately reminded me of Gythian Blood from Guns Love and Tentacles and I don’t think that’s coincidence to have 2 back-to-back DLCs where the big bad is focused on green death juice. I think Gythian Blood and Core are of the same stuffs.

4) Therefore, I think the Ruiner is (mostly) of Eridian origin (if you haven’t already guessed). 

This gives us an amazing look into how the Eridians actually create their beasts!!! And I’m so happy they showed us this.

(side note, Interitus Regina (the long name for Ruiner) literally means Destruction Queen and I think that’s beautiful <3)

i mean the idea that they plunge them from orbit to create an explosion similar to a nuke is fucking horrifying (but holy shit I love it so much ahhh it’s so cool!!!!)

the one side line from Oletta about how the company couldn’t control the Ruiner deffo makes me double down on this theory. I’m not entirely sure how Rose’s grandma knew about the whistling (I don’t think I’ve found every echo log in that area YET), but I would bet it was part of the testing given how many fuckin’ tape players they have throughout the facility. The Warrior was controlled by verbal commands via Jack, so it’s possible that the Ruiner was intended to be controlled similarly, but Jakobs intervention (or something like the way Rose hatched it) fucked it up.

now we know the Warrior was created to protect the Vault of the Destroyer (hmm.) so what the heck was the Ruiner created for? Ruiner is a name given to it by Jakobs/the people of Gehenna so we can’t really assume, but then again the monster names are pretty apt in this series even tho they probably technically shouldn’t be. 

it was only an egg, so maybe it was another test of Core? A Vault Monster incubating until it was ready to protecc and attacc but was never hatched because the Eridians ‘sacrificed’ themselves before it could? (I’m still not convinced the Eridians are the good guys. Listen. LISTEN. The guardian takedown is something to think about, BUT it doesn’t disprove that theory and I’ll stand by it because I 100% trust the Overseer more than bitchpants mcgee over here who thinks he’s soooo special for no reason fuck you and your dumb ‘I did what the Watcher could not’ bull you haven’t done shit.) ok sorry im done he just angers me. stupid guardian man. your whip is stupid and you should feel bad. oh also I totally called us actually being Guardians thru Guardian Rank before the game came out aha yeah.

I definitely think Gythian was a test/use of Core from the Eridians. We see in Bounty of Blood that core seems to mutate more the physical (and occasionally mental) parts of people, like with the crew challenges u do for Juno with all the weird hybrid people and whatnot. Gythian had the whole ‘the heart still beats’ thing going on (which is definitely a physical mutation if i’ve ever seen one), plus the whole, you know, mind control and shit. Which is p similar to what the menta gnats can do when charged with Infused Core. And keep in mind in BLaT we see DAHL notes on what happens to test subjects when injected with Gythian Blood. They mutated physically and went insane.

What im saying is Sirens and Eridium and Elements are connected, so what does Core equal? body/mind sure but are there unique creatures for core (yes holy shit I’m not talking about h2o au for once and FINALLY they gave us a canon name for the green stuff!!!). If not, I’d love to see a Siren interact with Core to see what it does to them. seriously why hasn’t tannis interrupted us yet. horrible excuse for a science lover (kidding kidding, I love her). I’d also really love a fuller rundown on what the hell Rose’s powers were. Because the whistling thing seemed to just be her grandma’s thingie passed down to her from her mom

I’d love to know if the core gives her immediate future sight or just increased perception or reaction times. there’s a huge difference but she seemed to be able to shoot the gun outta the sheriff’s hand near immediately and it seems kinda implied its because of the core (or at least because her eyes are glowing green)

there’s a possibility she has some unique core powers/possibly implants because of her relations to the project in the first place, or as leader of the devil riders after looting the facility. it’s really hard to say without more info and like i said im not sure if i missed an ECHO or two or not regarding her backstory :( 

Her hair is also green which I just noticed. Maybe she has core powers bc her grandmother got suuuuuuuuper irradiated/influenced working on project horizons and it passed down thru her n Rose’s mom, to Rose. Tannis does have a line about Sirens having unique hair colors and, if Sirens are linked to Eridium, perhaps those linked to Core also have unique hair color. Could also explain why only Rose seems to have those whistling powers. That said we don’t really see anyone else trying that whistling thing out afaik and idk if it was, like, a special ability or a certain tone/ditty or w h a t. 

i know being vague with everything gives them more creative freedom to create amazing characters and scenarios, but dammit I want A N S W E R S.

Like... we all know Jakobs fuckin sucks, look at what they did on Pandora. anyway all that aside, this is definitely by favorite borderlands dlc by a LONG shot. Nothing comes close. Ahhh the lore, the nuclear aspect, the a e s t h e t i c (seriously, have I mentioned how much I adore Trigun???), the art, the music, the cryoslinger, the fact I can bust out going beeEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAans like Ray Chase at any time and it will MAKE SENSE. I love all of it.

oh, also, Rose is totally not dead. C’mon, they couldn’t find her body. She pulled a Lilith. “Are you sure she didn’t just suffer a wound that LOOKS fatal, only for her to come back in a blockbuster sequel...?” is a line from mr Jones himself (the movie guy)

I just hope when she comes back she gets to meet Captain Scarlett. I’d love to watch their interactions plus pirates and or ninjas. That’s 2 DLC villains now that have vanished without a trace. And I like Captain Scarlett way more than Rose (seriously I spent the entire beginning of the DLC complaining about how her voice bothered me- I was so happy she was a villain, I was hoping that was the case).

Have to preface this with the warning this is the blocking out stage that comes well before any finishing stuff, it’s 3 different docs shoved into one post (hence why the last bit kinda repeats itself), but I’m sick as hell so just take it author notes to myself and all. will probably clean up in distant future, but until then...

im just really proud of the concept, okay. the execution of the rest may or may not leave something to be desired, though. :p

Lewis’s dying wish is to not let his beloved remember this… except oops it catches Arthur too, bc mutually pining ot3 is my jam. vivi being so much closer gets hit so hard to the point of not knowing him at all, art is further away so he doesn't remember the cave, but more specifically Lewis death.

it absolves mystery of being a complete dickwad and not telling Arthur this search he's killing himself over is in vain, bc every time he says anything about lew being dead art blanks out and can't hear it (glowy light eyes included)

the thing is Arthur is actually mentally unable to comprehend the idea of Lewis being dead. it's not denial, not naivety, the death magic literally short circuits his brain when the idea is even brought up. then he's totally out of it for hours and has massive migraines and he just wants to find Lewis because Lewis will make the pain go away Lewis will make it all better he just needs to find him.

eventually when art is chomping at the bit to go and “find” Lewis, mystery assures he'll keep  them safe, and if they do by chance find his spirit he can hopefully put an end to the curse. art will probably go mad otherwise cooped up when he thinks Lew is in trouble alone somewhere, and may do something rash without them instead if they don't.

she makes connection after mansion based on behavior of ghost, tender to her but almost sole focus on Arthur. doesn't voice to Arthur obv but asks mystery.)

yes- now vi knows who ghost was and connects dots from what art recollects from ghost truck (he doesn't believe it was really Lew so no worry abt painting bad light of it, she fumes and hates this former boyfriend even more

tells lance herself, he has his own suspicions based on Arthur's first recount of what happened to him with the ghost, he deserves to know and mystery is gone with shiromori.

vents and rants to the older mechanic because she's so upset about it, and how horrible this supposed friend is to someone working so hard to HELP him, and she DATED such a horrible person and-!

lew in the background super confused at first bc doesn't she remember him? gets upset and angry bc it must be Arthur's fault somehow!

art overhears tho, goes into meltdown bc she hates Lewis? but he's the best kindest gentle person and- no offense Arthur but she's not the most persuaded by his arguments after the guy had literally thrown you off a cliff -what no he didn't what are you talking about no the ghost wasn't Lewis couldn't be Lewis stop sAYING THAT IT HURTS IT HURTS LEWIS MAKE IT STOP

Random game idea that came to mind: clockwork man simulator

I dunno, i just got the general image in my head of a soft homey aesthetic equivelant of that terrible game about the androids. Itd be more like just a life-living game, like stuff like animal crossing or harvest moon. Just fully exploring the perspective of these creatures and the world that created them, rather than BOOM ACTION SETPIECES or whatever

I only have some scattered ideas for it tho, and not really any idea of a main plot or gameplay gimmick or 3 act structure or like.. Anything to take this from idea to game, lol.

SO ITS MISC IDEAS TIME

* more of an olden timey fantasy style instead of sci fi. Youre still an artificial person created to run errands for humans, but youre more of a combination of clockwork and magic. There's still an element of being made of inanimate object parts but there's also some glowy energy core or something. Possibly would be interesting if it was something unusual to use as a power source? Like i dunno, a bell or an acorn or a teacup or one of those rocks with the hole in it that sometimes wash up on beaches. Or just a glowy orb of Generically Defined Energy Substance, which flows through you like aesthetically pleasing glowy veins

* you're a service clockwork homunculus thingy, bought by a disabled person who needs help around the house. PERHAPS A SWEET OLD GRANDMA! Whatever i decide on (IT'LL PROBABLY BE THE GRANDMA), your owner is a kind person who sees you as part of the family and feels guilty using an android as they believe you are absolutely a real person and wish they could set you free. Unfortunately theyre kinda one of the people who needs androids the most, as they dont have any family who can help them. At the same time though, they are very old and quite resigned to nobody caring about them, plus theyre just a good person who'd put your life over their own. So i feel like the plot would literally start with this person trying to set you free and you are just like "i do npt understand the concept, that is not in my programming". Its become kind of a morning routine now to hear "youre free! Get out, dammit!" and have a brisk argument over breakfast that inevitably always ends with you refusing. Grandma's prpbably got so desperate they're resorting to tactics like trying to trick you into getting on the bus out of town or "if you dont leave im gonna hold my breath and i wont stop til i pass out". All inevitabley failing! So they just try and help you understand your sentience and become more independant, encouraging you to take free time every day and go around the town to enjoy yourself. Which is kinda a concept you dont understand yet, so its just like MISSION RECEIVED: WALK IN CIRCLE AROUND PERIMETER OF TOWN. And its kind of a hit and miss experience because the people in this town have never seen an android before- this magic is usually a thing for rich people and this proposed scheme of disability assistance androids is still in its test run. Some people are suspicious or hateful, but there are others who welcome you to the village and brighten up your day. Not just a world of 100% everyone assholes to make a melodramatic point delivered awfully through racist stereotypes.

* i think a good subplot with this disabled grandma would be to show her regaining her independance too. Like she starts off quite fatalistic and used to nobody caring about her, all this mobility aid stuff is new and she feels like its too complicated and she'll never get it, or its too expensive and she doesnt deserve it, or all the nonsense that ableist society drills into people. But with the support of her new friend and access to more tools to help take her life into her own hands, she starts regaining hope again! Like ironically she felt like her previous carers were all the kinds of awful things people expect these androids to be. Robotic, emotionless monsters who dont care about the person's feelings and comfort, and certainly not independance. She suffered from a lot of the same nightmares that androids do too: being forced into a rigid schedule, limited in her options, deprived of basic rights, being told how she's supposed to feel, etc. But to an android that all seems like an inefficient way to do things! My function is healing and human healing efficiency is decreased in this circumstance! I am incapable of ignoring data due to personal bias! Basically imagine MAGIC BAYMAX ok. Anyway this plot would progress with grandma regaining her smile and eventually itd be a super happy day when she's able to get her new wheelchair that she can wheel to the shops on her own without needing someone to push her. Itd be really sweet from the player's perspective to get used to saying goodbye to her every morning and then suddenly you see her wandering around the shops with everyone else and she can become a part of the vibrant town too. Im thinking give her more complex AI than all the other villagers even, like give her a more complicated set of actions and move routes and stuff like SHE IS EVERYWHERE and she is LOVING IT! Life is back where it belongs: in the hands of the person living it! And it also intensifies the message of android slavery not being necessary or moral or good. Like i mean here this lady benefitted from getting an android but literally all she needed was a friend, a healthcare professional who gave a shit, and affordable access to mobility aids. Humans could have done that if they werent lazy assholes! And this android deserves the right to the same uplifting independenceifying experience they helped this grandma have!!

* random idea: all the events you encounter on each daily walk are actually stored in your inventory as items. Memories of experiences, good or bad, become literally experience for you! They each affect stats in different ways because of what you learned from that moment. Maybe bad experiences give you combat abilities and good ones help with your daily life skills and development of personality? And its possible to crack or even shatter a memory, if new experiences end up clashing with it. Usually its just 'oh i learned the more advanced version of this skill through better understanding of why humans do it', but also traumatic memories damaging good ones, and good ones helping ease traumatic ones. And maybe you could solve puzzles and make friendships through using these memory items? Youre faced with a challenge and have to make the connections in your mind to figure out which past experience is relevant here. And becoming more talented at something would help narrow down the choices you get given? And being unskilled would do screwy stuff with the interface like putting the correct option far away near the bottom or mixing up the names and icons of each memory. (Dunno how i'd program that though!)

* Maybe character customization similar to Medabots? The games were so cool and ahead of their time, you get to collect hundreds of different robot base frames and then mix and match the parts to make your own cool aesthetic! Shame it was only used for fighting though, that could be cool in a more social game too! Like go out wearing different fashions to help befriend different people, but its more fun cos its ROBOT FASHIONS! 'hey grandma do u think fred will like this arm or this arm?' She fusses over you all excitedly cos you showing an interest in fashion is a good sign of developing free will! Though you still get stuck in logic loops of 'you should wear what you like best, honey' 'HUMAN OPINION IS OF HIGHER PRIORITY' ...god i think i just made this character so i can ramble Relateable Social Anxiety Moments BUT ROBOTS

* possible ideas for Memory Events you can find around town! Meeting a cute neighbour cat- a fascinating creature you were not programmed to deal with, as you're a hospital android who isnt even meant to leave one single room for your whole life. You get absolutely entranced by the confusing small carpet with legs, and spend all morning interrogating it on why it wishes to rub its face on you. Why is your motor overheating, tiny carpet? Human master, how do you troubleshoot this noise?

* Another idea! You get 'mission: count the steps on the stairs to town' popping out of nowhere, and at first you ignore it because this is an illogical directive that does not come from a human. But it keeps happening every time you go here!! You try finding new ways to get to town crossing through fields or forests or walking directly into the path of a horsedrawn carriage, but ALAS it seems the only efficient path is those curious curious steps! Only then do you finally realise the mystery command is coming from yourself! You're not used to this strange concept of just..wanting to do something, all by yourself. You talk to your human and she says that's 'natural curiosity', 'personality', 'free will'...things that seem impossible to understand. You ask her to take you back to the shop to get this fault fixed, but she says its good and you should try acting on it. But it'll serve no purpose!! BUT AAARGH I HAVE TO KEEP SEEING THOSE STEPS EVERYDAY!! Eventually you do count them and you find it makes you satisfied for no logical reason. And that was the end of that small crisis, but you'll forever be confused by the whole thing! The next week you're like "what if i organized all the blue things with the blue things" and youre intensely frustrated at yourself. Human grandma says this is a "taste for fashion" but you remind her that you do not have a tongue. (And then she gets you the robo parts catalog and you unlock customization. Yay!)

* Possible idea for a sad subplot! A new human visits the village and he seems very strange, sometimes seeming kind and other times being angry and standoffish. You think its a simple 'jerk with a heart of gold' story but the truth is a lot stranger! It turns out this stranger is actually an important bishop in disguise, and he has multiple androids acting as body doubles to protect him while he's on the road. Theyre supposed to just be empty husks who only know how to imitate, but they clearly have their own personalities! You're tasked with finding all these runaway androids and returning them to their master for a reward, leading to a goofy lil game of hide and seek with twelve of the same guy. But it starts to get a bit sad because they're all convinced theyre the real one, and whenever they stumble into holes in their memory they freak out. When they all see each other gathered together its an absolute despair explosion and theyre forced to face the truth. And you can help them bond together as brothers and develop their own individual identities, even helping them pick out their own new faces from your set of fashion roboparts. Sadly you cant keep them here for long because itd obviously be suspicious to have exactly twelve new people move into the town right when twelve bots went missing. So you get help from one of grandma's friends to send them off in a stagecoach to another town where they can find employment and start their own life disguised as humans. The asshole bishop obviously doesnt react well to his androids vanishing into the night, but he never thinks of blaming you because after all you're only an android and you could never choose to help others out of all that free will you dont have. He just berates you for being so incompetant as to fail his quest to find them, and you get your reward taken back. Oh no~ i am~ very ashamed~ i will go tell my human that my ocular circuits require recalibrating~ (internally: HAHA YEH FUCK U OLD MAN) Grandma is super proud of you!

OKAY SO THE ANIMATION MOVIE!

Right so I pretty much loved it??

this here now is quite a detailed take on it cos i guess i’ve talked back and forth about it so much i need give a conclusion

First of all: the set up, that also was the first eps that dropped on cw seed, is pretty much the weakest part of the film in my opinion. also for the film they got bit beefed up with other surrounding world and mood building stuff which helped.

So! Does it live up to the comic? well... yes and no. it has the wireframe of All His Engines but it does divert from it a lot. Most of the diversions are to cater to a certain idea, establishing the Hellblazer universe and tying into material people who know the motion work know. It’s not necessarily a bad thing tho, quite the contrary at one part or another: there is one plot twist early on that might actually be slightly more interesting than All His Engines had. The adaptation of the story clearly aims to bring more insight to Hellblazer as whole rather than adapting AHE, which im not opposed to at all if done well (originally i was really surprised by the choice of AHE to begin with). Unfortunately in some key parts of John’s history as well as key parts of AHE plot, this falls flat and dilutes some potential outcomes. Where it does live up to the comic tho is obviously the basis of the plot but also has very much the vibe and style of the comic (interesting as the art actually is very different and not to my taste). The comic clearly served as a platform to build this story from and they were very respectful for it as a source. They also took off some little off-character and off-canon things the comic originally had, altho on the other hand they did change and remove bits of AHE that were important for that storyline and suspense of it. There is a twist at the end that arguably, in it’s essence, is even more All His Engines than the comic actually was.

How it stands with Constantine Episode 10, Quid pour Quo? Well it’s quite at the similar place as ep10 and comic. I think the animation has more of the vibe of the comic while the liveaction follows the storyline more closely. The animation makes some huge diversions of the Hellblazer canon which i get to later on while Ep 10 sticks very much to the comic established histories of the characters and to execute the 2/3 of the AHE plot in the episode. I think personally that the comic still manages to be the most interesting of these three and the motion ones are tied at very close second place. Mostly cos the animation fucked up at places and the comic edges up by having amazing lines no one bothered to include.

There is a lot i really loved. In general the whole thing’s actually pretty great? I might need to actually rewatch the whole thing without pausing every 5 mins to write down thoughts or tumblr posts haha. I think it held itself together and someone not so emerged into the comics wont even be bothered by the things i find annoying.  It has a much of a noire theme like original comic did and is something i absolutely love. the other thing i did love was that it wasnt taking itself too seriously either and was very much funny when it needed to be and also when things were just so over the top. Just like Hellblazer is, that is very much a Hellblazer approach in tone. I did love the ‘party’ scene so much, it made me so happy in all it’s ridiculousness and how it was right down to the tee my interests ahah. There was couple non-comic plot twists I didnt even think to wait for and i did love some and appreciate others. John was very much in character, probably the most since Constantine, at least in live action, maybe even in comics. I did also really love how people reacted to him cos that’s another people get wrong a lot. He was called out for being a fucking idiot and a bad person but still getting appreciation and interest from his peers and demons trying to fuck him up. All the time they stuck to All His Engines as a reference point it was as good as it gets with these things. Loved Asa the Nightmare Nurse so much! She was cool! Also John got thrown around and had his ass kicked I also like that a lot like all you know. Those little inner demon gremlins were cute too i love them

Obviously there are some problems and things im gonna nitpick next. I’ve talked to an extent about the whole Newcastle thing being SO WRONG and how it could’ve been done right... or at least less wrong. I think on my first watch i initially said i don’t care that much but the more i thought about it and now that i watched it again.... i don’t like it. not one bit. I did also initially say I’m not bothered by the fact that ‘Chas’ in this is actually like Chas and Gary and couple other Newcastle people merged together but... in the end that bothers me too. I would be less bothered if these actually served the plot but they dont. AHE doesnt have these and it still works. You dont need “DEEP WHOLE LIFE OF FRIENDSHIP AND SHARED TRAGEDY” to make a mens’ friendship meaningful, that’s just toxic masculinity. Honestly as much as i love Newcastle as a plot and them introducing Nergal to the mix here worked, i dont think the whole 10-15 mins of botching it was worth it. Either do it well or leave it as a vague thing. One other big thing that always bothers me is the magic stuff. While this did try from time to time to have John just draw symbols, bleed a bit and chant some shit to call up some bigger magical entity, it did also make John do some glowy hands magic shit and referred to him as gifted or some other bs. That’s STILL just WRONG. Why is it so hard for these people to understand? HNGH. There was also some dumb bits here and there like John driving which annoys me so much. The end im not quite sure how to feel about but it’s also VERY MUCH AHE (to the vibe of it, not the actual end of AHE). I still dont like the art and i think they are dumb for the whole “London Hospital” thing, tho I’m mostly just amused by that. They did change some stuff from AHE which i thought was really cool on AHE so that kinda bugged me a bit. Not going too much into the details but it’s the usual diluting of comics plot twists. One big thing for me tho was the lack of a clear “trial and error” plot which is the key part of the comic’s plot structure and also was very much present in the Constantine episode but was missing from the movie. The movie on the other hand followed a different Hellblazer plot structure where “John has an absolute solution which has a huge cost but wont use it until the end”. They gave Chas’ sex scene to John which is a bit unfair. Also the lack of lines like “we bend down and think of England” and John’s joke about skull being a bad condom cos it’s got holes is a huge loss on it’s own too.

And against JLD movie? I do like this way better. Not gonna get to too many details here but this obviously is a Hellblazer based thing and not DC/N52 thing. Ofc this one has bit more canon fuck ups cos it tried to get to so many things but as a whole i think it’s better than JLD and a good adaptation of All His Engines.

tldr; it’s a great little movie and very much enjoyable. it has some obvious flaws but keeps up to the comic vibe, characterisation and plot.

Reveling in Richonne

#90: The “Few More Days” (7x12)

Y’all we’ve arrived at the final Richonne moment of 7x12! 🎉And it is an adorably perfect moment if I do say so myself. 😊

So the Trash Lady clearly folds and gets in formation once Rick lays out the deal of their negotiation. You can tell that Rick is still super annoyed and frustrated that these Garbage Patch Kids are so difficult and I love that Michonne sees that he's upset and she makes her way over to him.

Like this is a wife that is so in tune with her man and knows exactly how to comfort him and reach him for whatever occasion.

And so they stand in front of each other, all up close and personal as usual. Like for real they are standing super close in this public place and I love it cuz it just further proves that these two are 100% magnets. 👌🏽

And, looking all glowy and peaceful, Michonne tells him "You get a few more days, before what happens next." I've mentioned it before, but I have to say it again; I really do adore the tone of the way these two talk to each other. 😍

Like she's just so uplifting and gentle with him in this moment and again she's saying his words back to him with the whole "what happens next" and “few more days” cuz she knows that’s what he’s been wanting. 

It’s also cute that she tells him you get a few more days cuz you know she means “a few more days out there with me” lol. And Rick also knows this and he proceeds to have the cutest dang reaction. 😋

Like he really hears her out and then legitimately visibly perks up upon realizing this means they get more time together.

It's adorable the way he curiously and happily says, "Few more days?" Like y'all this man was super annoyed just seconds ago and now his entire demeanor has changed and he's practically cheery. 😊

And Homeboy low key looks entranced too lol. Cuz they were already standing super close and then he steps even closer to her. Like all of a sudden no one else was even there anymore, it was just the two of them.

Hearing that he gets a few more days to just be with her is music to his ears. And it’s clear this woman holds the keys to his heart, y'all.

Plus, it's cute that the writers do this cuz, throughout the whole episode, Rick consistently wanted a few more days and so it's nice that they end with him getting what he wanted from the beginning. Like it feels full circle. And we actually get a rare TWD happy ending. 🙌🏾

And I love that Michonne one; knew how to lift Rick's spirits in this moment two; put a positive spin on this frustrating gun situation by reminding Rick this means a few more days to just live and three; when Michonne then replies, "That's right. We'll find more, figure it out. Soon. In a few more days.” It shows how she's evolved too.

That talk with Rick in the van has opened her own eyes to know that time is limited and so you can see that she too is excited for and plans to cherish these few more days they get. 

Originally, she was so ready to just get this fight started and over with but now she’s okay with the fight being put off for a little bit. This lets us know she’s come to terms with how short life can be and so she’s ready to make the most of their time as well. They’re fully on the same page once again. 👌🏽

And it’s sweet how positive her words are too. Like she really is Rick’s cheerleader and she’s confident that they’ll figure things out so long as they figure it out together.

I just love that, despite the gun situation being unnecessarily prolonged, they're both low key happy that it means more time together. Like basically, this implies that R&M got a “Say Yes 2″. 😋

They spent a whole trip together and yet here they are excited for even more time. That's how you know it's the real love. 💯

Again this was such an amazing husband and wife moment and what made it even better is that after that proposal it feels like they too know that they're husband and wife.

Like they look at each other like they're married and they know it. And I love how visibly happy you can tell they make each other. Just the idea of a few more days is enough to make them leave that junkyard feeling like they won. 😊

And then they walk off holding hands cuz TWD has no chill. 😂 I love it! Them holding hands here just lets you know that they really do know they're married and that those magnets are alive and well within them.

I adore that this is so natural for them and that, not only are they unafraid of PDA, but they do it so often and wherever they go. Here. For. It. 🙌🏾

And as they hold hands and walk off, looking like royalty, we all watched them from above, in our newfound place in Heaven. 😇 It was great.

This was legit my mood as R&M concluded what was basically a beautiful Richonne bottle…

Like you just had to turn up for all the gold that we witnessed in this episode. Richonne completely delivered in 7x12 and it was tens across the board. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I know the episode technically ended with Rosita and her foolish plan but, for me, that handhold was the end.

(Side note tho: Rick was looking real refreshed when he was talking to Tara at the end of the episode lol. Like that was def a man who has had a nice honeymoon vacation 😂)

I remember when it ended I was like TWD should make it mandatory to have a Richonne bottle each season cuz the amount of A1 Richonne goodness in this episode was everything. 💯😊

It was so great to see Rick and Michonne just get to be Rick and Michonne, and revel in Richonne, as well as be so human and multidimensional and playful and heartfelt. Like I got my life and was buried all at the same time. 🙉😊

This episode truly was such a meaningful love letter to Richonne and a reminder of why Rick and Michonne are truly the GOAT.  👌🏽😋

A1 :  Wes Anderson directed mayhem similar in tone to The Grand Budapest Hotel covering his life in short so far (I would’ve said Satoshi Kon too but he unfortunately passed years ago)

Q2 :  What would their soundtrack/score sound like?          

A2 : Yoko Kanno, which speaks for itself because how do you even begin pinpointing Kanno’s work to one thing

A3 : Haven’t rly yet but I’d like to, love the idea of that (and the one time I did “write” for him tumblr ate it)

A4 : I was playing with CC a year ago and when he came out I loved him immediately
