can i request three somehow forced into a fake dating situation
Three stares directly into Martyn’s eyes. They are blue and of an average size. It feels as though maybe this should be against the rules, but according to the book it had read, this was… normal. A normal thing to do on a date. Look deeply into someone’s eyes. It would not be suspicious at all, even though Three isn’t really sure how to look more or less deeply into anyone’s eyes at all. Eyes are not flat, but even when Three Looks, it isn’t as though there is anything interesting in there.
Martyn is sweating somewhat. He looks away first.
Three’s pretty sure this counts as a victory, especially given Martyn can’t see Three’s face behind the mask anyway. It is good Three has now won the game of ‘staring lovingly into its date’s eyes’, because that had been a strange, threatening mortal ritual. It would rather not do that again.
“Haha, thanks again for agreeing to this date,” Martyn says, very suspiciously looking around the small cafe in a bustling semi-private Origins server. “It’s been so long since we’ve gotten to hang out like this. Gods, do I sound stupid.”
“You do,” Three says.
“You don’t have to answer those,” Martyn says.
“Will comply,” Three says.
“Oh, for the love of—we’re on a date. A date!” Here, Martyn winks obnoxiously. “It’s not a mission.” He winks obnoxiously again. “Besides, you should lighten up!”
“Will comply,” Three says.
“You know, I had forgotten how obnoxious that was,” Martyn says cheerfully. “Anyway, I should order us some drinks! Have some conversation! Keep an eye out around us, yeah, for our waiter?”
“You are not very subtle,” Three says.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Martyn says. “Besides, honestly? I am really glad to just hang out with you. Because we’re dating! On this server for fancy couples. Yep.”
The problem is, of course, that a fancy origins server is a great place for the strangest of people to hide.
When Martyn had asked a favor, Three had been… uncertain. This was not because Three doesn’t care for Martyn—it does, greatly—or because Three didn’t want to see Martyn—they’d met up a few times before now, tentative and quiet and frustrated and all the things that were hard to explain, and then in all the ways they were okay again—but because Martyn, for all Three cares for him, is still an idiot.
Three is its own handler, now. It does not have to follow handlers that are morons. It had told Martyn this. When Martyn had stopped wheezing, he’d explained that it’d be fun. Not Listener business, he promised; he still hadn’t quite gotten out, but he wouldn’t drag Three in, Scout’s honor.
(Three believes him. It’s never been that Three doesn’t trust him.)
It was a friend of Martyn’s that had gone missing. Apparently, on some fancy modded server? And now, Martyn wanted Three to come help him do some recon because, quote, “Jimmy laughed at me until he cried and that hurt me a little bit, not going to lie, and I’ve used up the favors Ren owes me, and Oli was busy. Have you met Oli? You’d like Oli.”
(Three did not like Oli.)
Three agreed, despite its better judgement. The reason it thought this may be a poor plan was because—
“Ah, the lovely Valentines,” the waiter says. He gives them a plate of lovely heart-shaped calamari. Three wonders if they had belonged to heart-shaped squid. “It’s a lovely evening, isn’t it?”
“Yes, it’s wonderful here with my beloved!” Martyn says.
The waiter and Martyn both look at Three. Three doesn’t say anything and sits perfectly still.
“Um,” the waiter says.
“It’s for a health condition,” Martyn says, which technically isn’t a lie.
“Very well, sirs, although it may get in the way of the kissing competition!”
Martyn, who had just started sipping some wine, chokes on it.
“I will win the kissing competition,” Three says.
Martyn chokes harder.
“I will see you to it!” the waiter says. “And of course, our patented species comparability exam is the highlight of the evening.”
“Oh. I am not sure I can produce viable offspring,” Three says.
The waiter stares at Three. Three stares back, although not into the waiter’s eyes, as to not cause any confusion. The mask somewhat prevents that from working, though.
“Very well then,” the waiter says. “I suppose just—do you need help?”
“It knows what it’s doing,” Martyn hisses.
“I did do research before coming here,” Three says.
“I’ll just head on,” the waiter says, in a tone that suggests to Three that maybe it did not do enough research before agreeing to help Martyn.
Oh well.
At least the mask means it doesn’t have to keep a straight face as it picks Martyn off the ground and, completely flat in tone, says: “Do not die. I would be sad if you died of something as stupid as choking on wine.”
“I asked for this,” Martyn says.
“Yes,” Three says. “You did. That is why I am here.”
(Beneath the table, it grabs Martyn’s hand. Martyn squeezes Three’s hand back. It had missed him, though. For all they do not see each other often—)
(Well. It had missed him, though.)

do you have an analysis on Alhaitham and Kaveh having no family in sumeru, (haithams grandma, kavehs mother going to fontaine) so they only had eachother? So their falling out must have hit harder-
Hiya! Thank you so much for the ask!! <333
I have some analyses on Alhaitham and Kaveh being each other's home and family! There's quite a few so I'll be brief with the synopses here as I don't want to bombard you hahaha <3 I have discussed the idea of Alhaitham being the ideal companion/family for Kaveh in an analysis of Kaveh's 2023 birthday letter; the motif of 'home' and what it means for Kaveh and how Alhaitham factors into it; as well as in the relationship between Kaveh's mother and father and how this parallels with Alhaitham and Kaveh's relationship.
In terms of Alhaitham and Kaveh's argument, I've discussed Sumeru's concept of the academic family and how Alhaitham and Kaveh's argument served as the dissolution of their found family, as well as an analysis of their argument, specifically from Alhaitham's omitted perspective. I have also speculated life for the two post-fallout, mostly from Alhaitham's perspective as Kaveh (as usual) is more open in his character stories.
You've highlighted a really key aspect of their relationship which haunts me - they met each other after the respective loss of their own families. Kaveh just said goodbye to his mother as Alhaitham enrolled in the Akademiya, just after his own grandmother passed. This passage described in Kaveh's character story 5 describes this, and then him meeting Alhaitham within the same passage.
Kaveh is described to have 'wishful thinking' regarding his and Alhaitham's friendship, in that, where he initially believed that their views aligned, despite the reality they have differing approaches to life, this isn't inherently a negative thing, as it can lead to new philosophies. Kaveh didn't want to believe that their differences were impossible to surmount, and instead that they complimented each other. Perhaps Alhaitham thought so too? They both agreed to work on a joint thesis together, with this conveying the implications of forming an academic family in Sumeru, with Kaveh trusting Alhaitham in picking a topic that highlighted both of their strengths - which ended up being a project revolving around language and architecture; two subjects which Kaveh now believes to exist on opposite sides of the mirror. Initially, this was to demonstrate the good that could come from balancing these seemingly opposing fields.
Although, it would inevitably come to be that problems arose between them when the differences in their philosophies became a point of contention. The two's previous harmony became misaligned when the assertion that their respective viewpoint was 'correct' over the other. When Kaveh tears up the thesis, he effectively ends the relationship he and Alhaitham built together, as well as the prospect of their found family. Alhaitham, in turn, removed his name from the thesis due to Kaveh's ending of their friendship.
After this, Kaveh graduated and threw himself into work, chasing his ideals, effectively distracting himself - both from the loss of Alhaitham, therefore his loneliness, and from the potential truth that Alhaitham revealed to him about his guilt being the cause of his incessant altruism. Contrarily, Alhaitham's life after this point is devoid of detail, only that he became the Scribe and moved out of his grandmother's house into the property that the Akademiya gifted him and Kaveh for the progress of their abandoned project.
Kaveh describes meeting Alhaitham as one of the most pivotal moments in his life in his hangout, and in A Parade of Providence, he describes their meeting as when his life began to go downhill - indicating, rather, to the consequences of their inevitable falling out. Alhaitham considers Kaveh as one of his priorities in maintaining the way of life he seeks to maintain, and although he is more reticent than Kaveh, in that his inner thoughts are concealed from the player, an instance that stands out to me that their argument personally affected Alhaitham comes from A Parade of Providence. This is when Alhaitham comments on the contradiction of Kaveh's motives, in that he expresses he has bad luck but insists on drawing lots, despite the fact that Faruzan offers to split the points between them. After commenting on this, Kaveh displays genuine frustration with him - to which Alhaitham backs down and switches tact. This is especially prevalent within the EN dub, where Alhaitham stutters before changing topics.
To me this underlines that Alhaitham was just as affected at by their argument as Kaveh was. Especially since this exchange can mirror the very exchange that caused the rift between them - in that Alhaitham points out Kaveh's self-destructive habits and it is perceived as a malicious critique. Alhaitham backs down when seeing that Kaveh is genuinely hurt because he doesn't want to repeat the past - he doesn't want to hurt Kaveh and lose him once more.
This is also encapsulated in the fact that Alhaitham sees Kaveh as his mirror, in that they both have a lack of familial connections. When Alhaitham believes that the presence of another genius can 'perfect' his vision, this isn't just a reference to Kaveh's differing perspectives, this also offers Kaveh as a familial figure to Alhaitham - in that, Alhaitham views Kaveh as his family. Similarly, Kaveh seems to hold an idea that he and Alhaitham are bound by fate, or 'the universe', meaning that he identifies Alhaitham as being essential to him in someway, however, as of now, he struggles with this being a benefit, rather than a negative.
I hope this answers your ask!!? You've unzipped me and all the haikaveh found family brainrot is pouring out <3333

Was messing with brushes and found this very sketchy one and just. Whipped up a traumatized Squirrelflight at the end of her horrible book! Not canon since they just put a pink bandaid on the actual abuse Bramblestar put her through the whole book with the final message that she should stop speaking out and he should maybe listen a little more (something he won’t do. Cuz he’s Bramble.). In my dream world this is the moment Squirrelflight has enough and kicks his shit now that she is so much more alone without her other half. Actually in my dream world Leaf wouldn’t be dead but uhhhhhhh they wrote that so.

Okay, I'm horribly late to Emmet month, but I'm doing my best to catch up
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Day 1: POKÉMON – Emmet and his weird cat. I'm surprised at how easy Archeops is to draw!
Day 2: FAMILY / FRIENDS – Emmet and Skyla!! Not enough people talk about how funny their friendship dynamic would be. They're definitely the childhood friends that constantly tease each other 24/7
Day 3: ALTERNATE CLOTHING – Went for a simple, light academia-esque look. Not too big of a fan of drawing massive coats like the one Emmet wears, so drawing him in something different was nice!
Day 4: MEMORIES – Emmet sweetheart, you're gonna squish your brother's foot. Give Ingo some personal space, will you?
Day 5: HOBBY – Nothing like reading a cool history book while listening to your favourite (yet painfully British) punk rock album, am I right? Though I don't see Emmet being an avid reader, I can definitely see him geeking out over world history. He still likes reading, but is much more of a casual reader compared to Ingo the Ultimate Bookworm.
Day 6: EMOTIONS – Ough. Not my best work for sure, but oh well. I feel like there aren't enough depictions of Emmet, or either twin for that matter, expressing genuine anger and fury. I've seen a couple for Ingo, and a whole subgenre of Emmet going insane, but I still think he deserves to experience being angry without losing his mind. He's pissed, and rightfully so. Probably. Either way, he'll eventually calm down after a while.
6 down, 6 more to go until I'm up to date! If I'm speedy enough, hopefully I can catch up and start posting normally tomorrow!

In the void, after the moon crashed into season 8
“Well…”
“Well…”
“…That didn’t go as planned.”
“Honestly, I don’t think there was a plan at all.”
“There never is with the hermits, is there?” They said fondly.
“No,” the other replied, amused. “That’s half the fun, though.”
They laughed.
“…They played well.”
“The players?”
“Yes.”
“They always do. That is why I remind them that they have played the game well after they exit the end.”
“They cannot hear that. That is for the ones behind the screen.”
“Maybe... You tell the players behind the screen that sometimes they can hear the voice of the universe through the noise of their thoughts.”
“Yes.”
“Who’s to say the players on this side of the screen cannot do the same?”
“I suppose.”
“And even if they couldn’t, we’re here to tell them to their faces, even if it doesn’t mean as much then.”
“Why wouldn’t it? Who’s to say it doesn’t mean more to them if we say it to their faces?”
“I don’t think it would carry the same weight. It would only confuse.”
“Still. It would mean more coming from a friend, wouldn’t it?”
“I guess you’re right. Besides, they’re hermits. They’re used to weird.”
“Exactly. Shall we tell them, then? When the next season starts?”
“Iskall?”
“…I worry.”
“About them?”
“Who else? This has not been pleasant. Will they truly be okay after this?”
“To cure them of sorrow would destroy them.” They reminded the other. “The sorrow is part of their own private tasks. We-”
“-cannot interfere. I know.”
“They will be alright. Right? Etho?”
“Yes. I believe in them.”
“As do I. They may not see the long dream of life, but they will continue the short dream of the game.”
“They probably don’t think it’s particularly short.”
Laughter.
“No, I guess not.”
“Yes. We will tell them they played the game well.”
“That everything they need is within them.”
“That they are stronger than they know.”
“That they are the daylight and the night.”
“That’s my line. Half of it is, anyways.”
“Oh, snappers!”
Laughter.
“…We should go.”
“There is not much left to stay for.”
“Let check on our players.”
“Hear us, hermits. The universe is speaking to you.”
“It’s saying the darkness you fight is within you.”
“It’s saying the light you seek is within you.”
“It’s saying you are not alone.”
“It’s saying you are not separate from every other thing.”
“It’s saying you are the universe tasting itself, talking to itself, reading its own code.”
“It’s saying I love you, because you are love.”
“And the season was over and the players woke up from the dream. And the players began a new season. And the players dreamed again, dreamed better. And the players were the universe. And the players were love.”
“Nice improvisation. Really Omega.”
“Thanks.”
“But now it is time.”
“Wake up.”

I think Jon should give his statement to Gertrude as a child and be so haunted by the nightmares it gives him that he seeks refuge in the Lonely. Like obviously he wouldn’t know what he was turning to (not until it was too late) but he should anyway. The awful watching figure he dreams of making him fear being seen, DESPISE being looked at completely, and make an already isolated and lonely child desperate to avoid other people and, well, Lonely. And as he gets older this would probably mix really badly with the gender dysphoria too, as well as worsening his aversion to eye contact.
And I think that’s when he’d notice the faint fog that’s always creeping around the edges of his vision.

Ngl it's pretty tiring seeing people misinterpret Rammatra's character as a memed up "racist against humans/exterminator" bc one: yikes, and two: litterally every interaction he has shows that he respects human individuals, just not the collective of humanity's inaction to stop injustice, nor individual humans that are *actively murdering his kin.*
He is trying to prevent omnic extinction, and is doing it in a way he thinks will work (in his story he tried pacifist routes, and they did not work).
Ramattra is the essence of "He is bad guy, but not bad guy." because his story is about war and trauma and how the horrors of war breaks a person. You can understand how he got to where he is, even if you don't agree with the radicalized viewpoints. And I don't mean the "stand up and fight omnic genocide" viewpoint, that is not radical, that is logical.
The major pushing point from freedom fighter to "uh what are you doing" is that Ramattra is willing to hack/take control of sentient omnics and force them to fight and die in war against thier will if it means they can win the war and prevent omnic extinction. His rushed desperation and willingness to deny an omnic's free will is what lost Ramattra his dearest team mates in NullSector, isolating him even further, (isolation which may or may not lead to more radical views down the road). From what we know NullSector still only uses drone (nonsentient) omnics, but that could change, now that NullSector joined Talon.
Ram is defaulting to his R-7000s programming due to trauma. Exactly what Bastion went through in the animated short, but instead of choosing nature and connections with others, Ramattra is pushing away all interpersonal connections and defaulting to artificial base programming: which just so happens for R-7000s to be leading omnics into war against humanity. But on top of that Ramattra also has an authentic take of: Winning, no matter the cost, as soon as possible, to save as many omnics as possible. It's a desperate attempt to save his people, because at the end of the day he was never fighting for himself. He is fighting for his people's future.
TDLR; Ramattra doesn't want human extinction, he wants to prevent omnic extinction. VERY different things.
