I kind of forgot to post anything, but I put together an image with some composers that I know of/like.
Guess who's my favorite :)

I think that if I were required to spend the rest of my life on a desert island, and to listen to or play the music of any one composer during all that time, that composer would almost certainly be Bach.
- Glenn Gould
Glenn Gould plays Bach's Keyboard Concerto in D Minor. In 1960.
Glenn Gould made his television debut on CBS's Ford Presents "The Creative Performer" with Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic.

Mendelssohn:
My absolute favourite violin concerto. That dramatic first movement with the gorgeous second theme. The most EXQUISITE second movement (when the violin hits the high C my heart just melts). The super joyful and fun third movement. The fact that each movement flows into the next. Please vote my boy Mendelssohn please my heart will be as happy as when it listens to this piece Recording: Hilary Hahn (YouTube link: https://youtu.be/SDwKJ6bBXEA?si=w7wQwK-NliQiCLVV). I travelled to another country just to hear her play this live. She is THAT GOOD 😍
It's brilliant

Bach violin partita BWV1004 transcribed for what looks to be a liuto attiorbato
Xavier Diaz-Latorre
The liuto attiorbato (theorboed lute) and longer arciliuto (archlute) were used in Southern Europe for solo and accompaniment. They retained the old renaissance lute tuning of ascending fourths with internal third, and appended long contrabass diapasons: the liuto attiorbato had double-course diapasons in octaves and the archlute had single-course diapasons.
Northern Europe preferred the French lute, which was shorter, with double courses throughout (top two courses single instead of the usual first course single), and was tuned in the D minor nouvelles accords.
Bach owned two French-style lutes. It is uncertain whether or not he wrote any of his own solo lute works for any kind of lute at all, or the seaworthy keyboard imitation Lautenwerk. His pieces are not particularly idiomatic to lutes, unlike those of composers who themselves played lute, like Bach's contemporary Silvius Leopold Weiss, whose mastery of the Dm tuning is evident in his compositions.
Anyway, Bach sounds good on everything.

Hi everyone!
Back in April, I was talking about my undergraduate senior recital and encouraging people to watch the live stream. While the livestream sadly had some technical difficulties, I was provided with a wonderful video of almost the entire recital afterwards.
If you were unable to watch the livestream but are still interested in watching the performance, please do go and listen! (It is about an hour though, so make sure you have time, haha!)

Sunday Pipes #129
Yesterday, while running some errands around Nashville, I was listening to the WQXR app via Bluetooth in the car when I heard a version of this piece. Powerful, and from one of the comments: “The beautiful sound of the organ played by such a talented organist is food for the soul” J.S. Bach – Jesus Christus, under Heiland  (BWV 665), courtesy of the Netherlands Bach Society.

“LIGHTNING BOLTS SHOOT FROM MY FINGERTIPS!!!!! I’M LIKE A GOD IN HUMAN CLO-“ *GETS ABRUPTLY AND VIOLENTLY STRUCK BY A BOLT OF LIGHTNING AND IS IMMEDIATELY INCAPACITATED*
*lies on the floor unconscious as the camera pans out from above set to a slow organ rendition of Bach’s BWV 645*
*a team of paramedics eventually shows up with an ambulance*
*fade to black as music gives way to silence*
Saul Goodman was quickly transferred to a nearby hospital for immediate medical treatment.
He made a full and swift recovery and was quickly discharged within the following week.
There were no survivors.

the second movement sends me straight to heaven Recording: Yehudi Menuhin & David Oistrakh https://youtu.be/DJh6i-t_I1Q?si=4-PTB71BkEbSFWOv
THE multi-instrument concerto. Maybe the first real concerto a baby violinist learns. I am no longer a baby violinist but every time I try to play this piece it still has something to teach me. Major nostalgia-fest thinking of all the teachers and friends I've had the privilege to play this with over the years. It's perfect.
