Четверг сдержанных песен с хрипотцой, где бушуют страсти и завораживает аккомпанимент!

Самое замечательное в этой песне - её целостность. После речитативного припева следует более мелодичный предприпев, который идеально подводит к протяжному куплету - и хотя предприпев для этого и нужен, настолько органичным он бывает далеко не всегда. Немного выбивается из общей картины бридж, но это законы жанра, которые Капальди решил не нарушать. Занятное украшение в обоих куплетах - повтор слов, который нужен, конечно, не ради лирики, а ради ритма. Нервный текст о неудавшейся любви прекрасен целиком, но у меня мороз по коже от строчки "If only I'd have known you had a storm to weather".

Послушайте Капальди, послушайте Кэмпа, который выпустил эту песню тремя годами позже, и никогда так не делайте! Шутка, Кэмп тоже неплох, иначе его бы тут не было, но до ужаса вторичен. Тот же речитативный куплет с горизонтальной мелодией и распевный припев, тот же чуть нестабильный ритм, тот же резкий финал на припеве, та же манера исполнения, пусть её и не защищает авторское право. Из принципиально нового - более энергичный бридж с плавно-напряжённым He loves you, He loves you, He loves you. В общем, получился эдакий фанфик, где можно без потерь запеть припев от Капальди.

А вот это - уже совсем другое дело, хоть и в абсолютно том же стиле. Но мелодия развивается иначе: суетливость появляется в предприпеве, куплет более спокоен. В припеве Уолкер обошёлся без лишних слов, кроме заглавных, и не зря: в паузах здорово слышно клавиши и струны. Кстати, в финале за счёт этого получается одновременно и концовка на припеве, как в предыдущих треках, и фейд! Во втором припеве исполнитель поддаёт огня по-хорошему надрывным вокалом, а в третьем - аккуратненько, филигранненько затихает. Неплохая, хоть и не уникальная идея - использовать в бридже мотив предприпева с новыми словами (кстати, песня-то практически и не про любовь) "Hiding from the truth ain't gonna make this all okay". У этой композиции есть версия с электроинструментами, но уж больно она писклявая, что сбивает весь настрой и отвлекает от вокала.

Элегантная в своей простоте песня, куплет-припев-аутро, ни предприпева, ни бриджа (хотя есть пара вокализных и одна инструментальная вставка). Сюда попала за всю ту же манеру исполнения и предельную целостность. Мелодия с вариациями повторяется от строчки к строчке, в припеве это постоянное движение вниз после скачка вверх, которое создаёт слегка меланхоличное настроение на фоне мажора. Аккомпанимент, на мой вкус, даже несколько избыточен: хватило бы фортепиано, с которого всё начинается, и акустической гитары. С другой стороны, в инструментальной части немного ненавязчивого электро - в самый раз. Лучший момент в тексте - "You fireproof my skin / And let it all sink in".

Отличная песня с нарочито ровным вокалом (снова), где вся соль - в аккомпанименте. Начинается с гитарного боя на вальсовый счёт, потом добавляется фоно аккордами, к припеву вступают ударные. В конце второго куплета есть пауза перед припевом, а после него - мощный инструментальный бридж с вокализом.

В плане текста мне очень импонирует строгая рифма - откровенно говоря, в песнях она не очень-то обязательна, музыка и так держит ритм, да и белые стихи - вполне продуктивное направление. Иногда немного наивные строки даже вызывают ощущение, что имеет место рифма ради рифмы, но они прекрасны в своей непосредственности. Как тут: "You took my soul and wiped it clean / Our love was made for movie screens".

Кстати, в плане вокала, на мой взгляд, более интересная версия была на британском шоу The Voice, где Дэвид Джексон пел в нижнем регистре - в оригинальном фальцете мне не хватает глубины.

However, Melissa becomes seriously ill with an aggressive type of cancer, prompting the resumption of their relationship and a multitude of difficult choices. Awhile back, I found a Xian song from a favorite artist of mine about Jesus in the wilderness, when He wandered the desert for 40 days and nights. J mentioned it is one of his favorite passages because it shows Jesus' assurance of being God's beloved, even in the darkness and wilderness. Since then, I associate the song with J.

Of course, I've been listening to it on repeat since Saturday and noticed a lyric, "There is joy on the horizon." Joy was a big theme in J's sermons and was repeatedly described during his ceremony. So now the song is just furthering the spiral...

O cantor gospel Jeremy Camp, de 46 anos, recentemente compartilhou em suas redes sociais como uma grave doença cardíaca o aproximou de Deus. Diagnosticado com fibrilação atrial, um distúrbio do ritmo cardíaco, Jeremy passou por duas cirurgias nos últimos meses.

Confiança em Deus

Em um vídeo no Instagram, ele relata como a experiência o ensinou a depender mais de Deus. “Sempre lutei para fazer as coisas com minhas próprias forças”, confessa Jeremy. “Mas essa doença me mostrou que não tenho controle sobre tudo. Ordinary Angels is the latest film to feature Hilary Swank playing a real-life character, and it's directed by Jon Gunn, who's made a name for himself both writing and directing films that tell real-life stories. He's written American Underdog, the film about former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner; I Still Believe, a film based on the life of Christian singer Jeremy Camp; and Jesus Revolution, based on a true story, while the last movie he directed, The Case for Christ, was also based on a true story. According to Swank, Gunn was the perfect choice for a movie like Ordinary Angels, and she really appreciated his approach to filmmaking.

Ordinary Angels is now playing in theaters.
