I don't think Jack deserves to die, and Will definitely doesn't deserve to kill him. I want Jack to retire and live a long, peaceful life, and die painlessly, if he can. However, I don't think he would (or could) let go of the nagging feeling that Will and Hannibal are alive, though.

okay but does anyone listen to bronski beat and does anyone GET IT. they released an album, completely unashamedly gay, in the 80s, during the AIDS crisis, during a time of insanely rampant homophobia and over the top conservatism. they released an album with the age of consent for homosexual activity in every european country listed on the sleeve and the phone number for a legal advice hotline for queer people etched into the grooves of the vinyl. they released an album with the opening track dedicated to a hate crime victim, featuring vocals from an openly gay choir. they released an album with songs about homophobic violence, the dangers of following the bible too closely, about leaving behind everything you know and starting over, about homophobic family and homophobic bullying. they wrote about being gay and being proud of it and knowing that there is nothing wrong with who you are. in the face of all the hatred going on in the 80s they released an album that was in-your-face gay and fuck-you queer, and i love them for it.

You know, one of the most interesting thing about BG3 to me is that all the different choices and RP moments you can make mean that it's very easy to have a multitude of playthroughs that don't neatly fall into the boxes of "good" or "evil" runs.

The other interesting thing is that whenever Larian talks about their game, it feels like this was a complete accident.

#bg3 #the “true good” path has more content than any other path #because Larian did not expect a worldstate where the tieflings were dead for any other reason then because the player murdered them #and they wanted to have consequences for players doing the “evil path” #which is also just. maybe the consequence should be anything besides having less content to playthrough #but they did THAT bc they assumed people would mostly be doing evil playthroughs for their 2nd or 3rd run when they'd be tired of sidequest #Larian writes Ascended Astarion's romance a very specific way because the writer assumed people who romanced him on that path #only cared about the sex and power #so your tav/durge gets pigeonholed into a very specific personality #and these are only the things I know for sure bc they've been outright stated in interviews or tweets from writers #i know they can't account for every playstyle #but I never felt this way playing a bioware game #the whole 'oh I clearly am not meant to rp or play this way' feeling #im caught between being glad to have more rp choices but wondering if its worth it when i get punished for taking them

ok i NEED to know more about titan beetle, her design is so cool!

for sure!!! she was the daughter of a relatively average aristocratic family and was expected to marry some random rich dude and play pretty housewife for the rest of her life- and that’s what she expected to happen when she entered an arranged marriage with 22yrold Goliath Beetle at 18 years of age.

what she wasn’t expecting was to fall in love. hard. something about the man drew her in and he seemed to reciprocate, if only in surface level ways. which was enough for her- until it wasn’t.

Goliath Beetle was not a nice man- Titan would find that out when he revealed his crime empire to her, but she was too blinded with infatuation to care. they would rule the world together.

years went by and Goliath became more and more distant, barely interacting with his wife and burying himself in his work. he barely even reacted when she told him they were going to have a son. Titan loved him, but they were both just going through the motions, doing what society expected them to. happy family, a wife who cooks well, soon a son, maybe a dog.

and then she found out he was cheating on her. she didn’t know why she didn’t expect it sooner. they were both pretending to be people they weren’t, a picture perfect marriage crumbling at the seams.

anyway. you know the story. overwhelmed with guilt, Goliath shot himself five times in the head and Titan had to raise a baby as a single mother while also juggling keeping a crime syndicate up and running. yada yada yada. twelve years before present day she’s finally got by the authorities for tax fraud and sent to a maximum security prison- but it’s 12 years later, her sentence is almost up and she’s about to re-enter her sons’ life.
