The History of Fonts: Early Examples
The first typeface widely used and produced was created by Johannes Gutenberg and was used in the first printing press in 1440. The Black Letter typeface was created to mimic the font used in handwritten manuscripts. Today we can see examples of Black letter in many Newspaper Publications, and in brands like Corona and Steinlager.
Shortly after Gutenberg In 1470 Nicholas Jenson created a more simple typeface that could be replicated easier and didn’t take up as much space as the first one. This was the creation of the first Roman typefaces. Many after Nicholas would adapt their own versions of the roman style typeface. Many of these typefaces are still very common such as Baskerville, Times New Roman, and Caslon.

Poles, podiums, and the best of the rest.
Who are all these handsome young men in colorful jumpsuits that seem to have taken over your dashboard this year? And where exactly are they going in those really fast cars?????
Over the past few years, Formula 1 has spread into all corners of culture, and Tumblr is no exception. People around the world have learned about F1’s 70 years of history, its international circuits in cities like Monaco and Abu Dhabi, and its Grand Prix schedule of Free Practice, Qualifying, and the races themselves. Tumblr being Tumblr, though, it’s really all about the drivers: 20 of them per year, two for each of the ten official teams. Add in all the other assorted characters that orbit around the current grid, and you have quite the lineup to follow each weekend.
F1 and its fast boys have been appearing in our Week in Review lists as far back as 2020, and on last year’s Year In Review Athletes list, drivers took up a healthy 6 out of the top 10 spots. This year, the sport’s domination of the dashboard kicked it up a notch: There was an 18% increase in engagement with the Formula 1 tag in 2022 compared with last year, and Lestappen (aka Max Verstappen/Charles Leclerc) became the very first F1 ship to hit a Week In Review ships list on July 10, 2022.
A lot of this might have something to do with the growing popularity of Netflix’s Drive to Survive docuseries, which follows the twists and turns of each F1 season, shining a light on the personal lives of the drivers and their team members. Tumblr’s interest in the sport just feels natural: with all of its drama, excitement, and contained, charismatic, and frequently controversial ensemble cast, it seems tailor-made for Tumblr users who enjoy sports anime and adventure dramas.
So, what’s the pitch for F1? Whether you root for the underdog or support the champion, there’s a storyline for you. The interweaving backstories of the drivers, many of whom have grown up driving together since they were kids, are like catnip to Tumblr’s love for characters with history. And, of course, there are the races themselves—high-tech cars going hundreds of miles per hour. What’s not to love?
Or, as @gaslightgirlsummer puts it: these men are all millionaire tax evaders trying to kill each other and/or themselves in the fastest cars on the planet (that are worth more money than most people will ever have in their lifetimes) on a weekly basis.
Whether a longtime fan or newly interested, you’ve probably seen F1 around Tumblr this year, featuring in fan art, GIFsets, and a plentiful amount of very silly memes. But, in case you’ve ever been curious about who Tumblr loves the most, here are the top 35 Formula 1 tags in 2022, featuring not just current drivers but retired drivers, reserve drivers, upcoming drivers, race engineers, and team principals, too.
Lewis Hamilton

You asked, and I answered.
Alright, buckle up folks here is my overanalyzed date possibilities list.
First, let’s list out everyone who has been a driver since Max joined in 2015. There are 46 of them (including temporary subs and those who didn’t finish seasons).
Now, let’s cut everyone who joined after 2021 as per your previous answer. Down to 41:
Lando Norris,Yuki Tsunoda, Lance Stroll, Mick Schumacher, Nikita Mazepin, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Max Verstappen, Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Sergey Sirotkin, Nicholas Latifi, Pascal Werhlein, Carlos Sainz, Antonio Giovinazzi, Daniil Kvyat, Kevin Magnussen, Rio Haryanto, Stoffel Vandoorne, Felipe Nasr, Jolyon Palmer, Esteban Gutierrez, Will Stevens, Roberto Merhi, Sergio Perez, Marcus Ericsson, Brendon Hartley, Valtteri Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo, Nico Hulkenberg, Sebastian Vettel, Romain Grosjean, Lewis Hamilton, Robert Kubica, Nico Rosberg, Pastor Moldonado, Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Kimi Raikkonen, and Jenson Button.
Age has to come in now. No one more than 10 years older. That leaves us 33 people:
Lando Norris,Yuki Tsunoda, Lance Stroll, Mick Schumacher, Nikita Mazepin, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Max Verstappen, Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Sergey Sirotkin, Nicholas Latifi, Pascal Werhlein, Carlos Sainz, Antonio Giovinazzi, Daniil Kvyat, Kevin Magnussen, Rio Haryanto, Stoffel Vandoorne, Felipe Nasr, Jolyon Palmer, Esteban Gutierrez, Will Stevens, Roberto Merhi, Sergio Perez, Marcus Ericsson, Brendon Hartley, Valtteri Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo, Nico Hulkenberg, and Sebastian Vettel.
Then we can cut the REALLY irrelevant (aka people everyone forgets existed) drivers because she simply would never date one of them. Now we’re at 25 options:
Lando Norris, Yuki Tsunoda, Lance Stroll, Mick Schumacher, Nikita Mazepin, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Max Verstappen, Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Nicholas Latifi, Carlos Sainz, Antonio Giovinazzi, Daniil Kvyat, Kevin Magnussen, Stoffel Vandoorne, Felipe Nasr, Sergio Perez, Marcus Ericsson, Brendon Hartley, Valtteri Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo, Nico Hulkenberg, and Sebastian Vettel.
Let’s cut people based on whose vibes would NEVER work with her (and Estie Bestie because he doesn’t work with Max so by extension her). Down to 15 options:
Lando Norris, Lance Stroll, Mick Schumacher, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Max Verstappen, Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Nicholas Latifi, Carlos Sainz, Kevin Magnussen, Stoffel Vandoorne, Marcus Ericsson, Daniel Ricciardo, and Sebastian Vettel.
Now we can cut Max and Mick. So 13 options.
Then we can cut some for not being willing to make a move or not interested. Which leaves us 10 options:
Lando Norris, Lance Stroll, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Nicholas Latifi, Carlos Sainz, Stoffel Vandoorne, and Marcus Ericsson.
Now, I think we can cut Alex and George because I don’t think they would get along. So we have 8 left. So we need to consider Lando, Pierre, Carlos, Lance, Charles, Latifi, Vandoorne, and Ericsson. All could vibe IMO.
One date with Lando. I know they’re friends now but I could see him making a move when he realized Max wasn’t before a mutual friend zoning occurred.
Pierre and Carlos would both be ballsy enough to ask her out and I think she would consider a date with either of them. Both are former Max teammates too so they could’ve gotten close then. Both kinda cocky.
Lance is one of my personal favorites. He’s funny, kinda fiesty at times. I don’t think she would care about the nepo aspect and he’s friends with Mick so the intro is there. Plus we’ve seen the pic of her and Lance so we know they’re at least casual friends.
Charles could work too. Casual with Max, not over the top, good driver. No obvious reason against him.
Latifi is funny, doesn’t take himself too seriously, and could’ve been a single date.
Vandornne is also Dutch. Could be a pro there for them. Maybe met him a bit growing up because of it. Don’t know enough about his vibes to totally rule him out. He’s a Formula E champ, which would be a pro.
Ericsson is also there. Does decent in Indy which is a plus. I just have a feeling it’s not him for truly no real reason.
My guesses at which I’m order or likelihood is:
Lando
Lance
Pierre
Vandornne
Carlos
Latifi
Charles
Ericsson
I feel like I have to have at least 1 of the 3 in those final 10. I’d like to think all 3 but there could be a curevball in there idk. There’s also a shot in potentially missing someone in my original 46.
- 🤠

If all f1 contracts were to end tomorrow and you could build a new grid where money wasn’t an object and there are no constraints on which drivers could go to each team (alpha tauri isn’t junior Red Bull, teams with Ferrari engines don’t need a Ferrari driver etc), what would your grid look like?
I’m assuming we’re putting everyone in like, new regulation cars or smthn for the purpose of this bc the idea of putting George and Lew in the current redbull system depresses me but if it’s the only car that can win I’d do it. I’m also assuming that any F2 or “retired” drivers are magically prepared and Ready mentally to join F1.
Mercedes:
Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. Yes they’re the perfect line up, kiss my ass.
Redbull:
Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly. It’s their team now and it’s got more vibes than ever. Horner and Marko are not involved.
Ferrari:
Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc. Dragging Seb bodily out of retirement to see him cut his hair and wear red again.
Alpine:
Esteban Ocon and Jack Doohan. What are these vibes? Nobody knows but they’re in love with Mick Schumacher.
Mclaren:
Stoffel Vandoorne and Nyck Devries. Stoffs a good egg he can come back, and I accidentally forgot nyck when I first wrote this and he’s more interesting than oscar.
Aston Martin:
Lance Stroll and Nicholas Latifi. Nepo babies who are actually nice team.
Williams:
Susie Wolff and Frederik Vesti. Fred deserves to go to Williams like most future Merc drivers (Nico, Val, George) and needs a good older mentor to guide him. Susie should have gotten a seat when she was a driver.
Alpha Tauri Williams 2:
Alex Albon and Jenson Button. I was originally gonna put these guys in Williams but I need it for others. This is now Williams 2
Alfa Romeo:
Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou. It’s perfect already no notes. No wait one note, Fred Vasseur as TP again
Haas Audi:
Mick Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen. Choosing to assume Haas management is just dissolved and sold to Audi or something so AR stays. This Duo was cute no notes.
———
I really wish I knew more drivers to make this more fun lol, I was mostly just removing the ones I didn’t care for and shuffling shit around to make good pairings for the drivers I did
(Drivers removed - Verstappen, Pérez, Alonso, Norris, Sargent, Hulkenberg,, Piastri (sorry Oscar), Sainz)

EXCLUSIVE: Clan Fraser continues to grow in numbers as Tony Curran (Defiance, Red Road) has joined the Starz prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood as Lord Lovat, Jamie Fraser’s grandfather, in a series regular role.
Production recently kicked off on the new series, a prequel of the Starz hit period drama Outlander, in Scotland. The original series stars Caitríona Balfe as Claire Fraser and Sam Heughan as her husband, Jamie Fraser. The franchise is inspired by the work of Diana Gabaldon, who serves as a consulting producer on both shows.
Blood of My Blood will explore the lives and relationships of Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) and Claire’s parents, Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine). The 10-episode series will center on the two parallel love stories set in two different time periods, with Jamie’s parents in the early 18th century Scottish Highlands and Claire’s parents in WWI England.
Matthew B Roberts will serve as showrunner and executive producer on the series. Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis, who developed Outlander for television, under their production banner Tall Ship Productions will also executive produce the series alongside Roberts and Story Mining & Supply Company. Outlander: Blood of My Blood is produced by Sony Pictures Television and will be available across all Starz platforms in the U.S. and Canada.
This is Curran’s second series for Starz currently on the slate. In addition to the Outlander prequel, he is set to star as King James I in Mary & George, opposite Julianne Moore and Nicholas Galitzine portraying the titular mother and son who are scheming social climbers. The seven-part limited series, premiering on April 5, is inspired by the scandalous true story of a treacherous Mary and George Villiers who schemed, seduced and killed to conquer the Court of England and the bed of King James I.
Curran trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama who rose to fame in the TV series, This Life. He has worked extensively across TV, film and theatre both in the UK and US.
Recently he starred alongside Martin Compston and Ashley Jenson in the onscreen adaptation of Andrew O’Hagan’s acclaimed novel Mayflies* for which he was nominated for Best TV Actor at the Scottish BAFTA Awards and won Best Male Actor at the Scottish Television Awards.
Earlier in 2023 Curran also appeared in the second season of Your Honor with Bryan Cranston alongside the 10-part investigative drama series The Calling written by David E Kelly and directed by Barry Levinson.
Additional credits include Outlaw King alongside Chris Pine, Florence Pugh and Aaron Taylor Johnson, the Showtime drama series Ray Donovan and the film version of the Emmy award-winning drama Deadwood, among many others.
He is repped by Innovative Artists and Link Entertainment in the U.S. and Scott Marshall Partners in the U.K. as well as Brecheen, Feldman, Breimer, Silver and Thompson.

When you hear about the toxic environment within Aston Martin's F1 team it becomes very easy to realise that maybe there is a 'culture issue' within F1 as a whole because it isn't just Aston Martin, it's been RBR and it's been Mercedes and it's been Mark Hughes and it's been Nelson Piquet and it hasn't just happened to Lewis or Alex or Zhou Guanyu or Nicholas or Yuki or Kamui Kobayashi or Pascal Wehrlein it's happened to the people without a platform to say anything - thankfully Aidan Louw found his platform but there are countless other people within F1 being discriminated for Sexuality, Gender and Race.
There is also the different ways in which drivers of color are spoken about within F1 as an organisation and also within fan communities. It's the way Yuki and Lewis are aggressive but Max and Kimi are passionate or just 'being themselves. It's the way Lewis is a tax evader but Lando and Jenson live in Monaco because they want to. Its the way Sir Lewis Hamilton is just Lewis Hamilton but then Sir Jackie Stewart is Sir Jackie Stewart IN THE SAME ARTICLE. It's the way Kamui is aggressive but people running other people off the track is a mistake. It's the way Lewis' actions at Silverstone were a 'tactical foul' whereas Max's brake check was a 'silly mistake'. It's the way Lewis should have retired to preserve Michael's legacy but Sebastian can beat Schumacher's 7 WDCs. The way these drivers have been treated will inform you of the way the workers with no voice have been and will continue to be treated.
I can understand why there is a culture issue within F1, and it's simply because F1 as an organisation haven't really done anything to dissuade their own people and by extension their fans from being racially discriminatory. It's mainly because these rich white men that are the bosses in F1 haven't really experienced the sort of discriminatory behaviour the ethnic minority drivers have and why would they change a system that has always worked for them. Why would they try to make it better for 'the others'. But I think another thing that plays a big role is the fact that the heads of F1 haven't really called out the racial abuse that these drivers have been confronted with. Barcelona 2008 for example, the blackface wasn't really focused on and really Lewis should have 'expected hate' - it ain't just the head office - so if F1 and these drivers can't even pretend that these drivers who are being discriminated don't deserve it than why should the fans and that's why I believe a large majority of racial attacks have occurred in recent years because of a 'they don't care so why should I' attitude.
Also I think we have to think about the fact that maybe, behind closed doors a large group of individuals associated with F1 have used derogatory language, we now know that because of Piquet's interview and also Bernie's interviews that they're not scared to say it in front of the cameras. And if they're not scared to use a racial slur against Lewis or talk about how he was allegedly taking it up the a*s and that's what lost him his 2016 championship in blatant homophobia than what might they be saying behind closed doors. What must they be saying to Lewis himself, Lewis who whenever he tries to say something about he's being treated is 'crymilton' and 'whining' and 'moaning'. Like I said, if they can treat the drivers like this what stops them from saying anything to the 'little people' the ones without a platform or power to say a thing.
There is a culture issue within F1. The people who can't see it are those who are privileged enough to not have it happen to them.
Things have to change. Really and truly things have to change. Not just for Lewis, Zhou Guanyu, Yuki, Alex, Kamui, Pascal, Nicholas but also for the countless kids vying for a spot in F1, kids with the talent to be a part of the greatest motorsports category in the world, kids who don't even have a fighting chance right now because they're not white westerners.

Williams show off F1 2023 livery and confirms Gulf partnership
Williams show off F1 2023 livery and confirms Gulf partnership By Balazs Szabo on 06 Feb 2023, 18:37 Williams have revealed the striking livery of their 2023 F1 car, the FW45 while the Grove-based outfit also announced a major partnership with Gulf Oil. Formula One's Grove-based squad Williams has shown off the livery that will adorn the FW45, the team’s new challenger for the 2023 FIA Formula One World Championship season. The British outfit has also revealed new partners, with Gulf Oil, Stephens, Michelob ULTRA and PureStream joining the team from the 2023 season. Following a difficult season, Williams have shown off the new car, the FW45 that is an evolution of the team's 2022 F1 car, the FW44.The floor edges have been raised to satisfy the updated 2023 FIA Technical Regulations and the team has taken the opportunity to heavily evolve the sidepod concept, which has been made possible by optimising the power unit cooling layout. There are also modifications to the front suspension layout as well as the major external aerodynamic surfaces. The FW45 will hit the track at Silverstone on 13th February, with both race drivers, Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, undertaking driving duties. Williams Racing Brand Ambassador and 2009 F1 World Champion Jenson Button will also be in attendance to see this year’s car complete its first laps. Commenting on the announcement, Chairman of the Board Matthew Savage said: "As Williams Racing continues its transformation, we’re proud to unveil this year’s livery. We are excited about this year’s car, and I cannot thank the entire team at Grove enough for their hard work to get ready for the season. "I am delighted to welcome both new and existing partners to our journey. With our new Team Principal James Vowles joining us later this month, as well as our exciting driver line up of Alex and Logan, Williams Racing will be giving its all in 2023," Savage concluded. For the 2023 F1 season, Williams has an updated driver line-up, with Alex Albon beginning his second year with the team, after an impressive season in 2022, scoring points in multiple races. American driver Logan Sargeant replaces Nicholas Latifi, after climbing the ranks from the Williams Racing Driver Academy. The 22-year-old will make his F1 debut at the upcoming Bahrain Grand Prix. Albon added: "I’m really excited to be starting back for another year with the team. The car looks great and will hit the track at Silverstone. The team has worked really hard last year and over the winter to address some key areas in our car, putting in the work to try and maximise what we get out of the car for 2023, so I’m looking forward to seeing what the FW45 can do. We also welcome new partners to the team this year, so it’s great to have them onboard." Sargeant commented: "I’m really excited for the season to get started after what, for me, feels like a long winter! I’m super motivated and we’ve put a lot of hard work in. The car is looking amazing and it shows the huge effort the team has put in the off season, so I’m looking forward to getting started at Silverstone before heading out to Bahrain." via F1Technical.net . Adobe Fonts: "Hightower’s wide proportions and deep color were calibrated for small text sizes. Its organic forms and details also work well in headlines, adding complexity and subtlety.”
