This new semester you decided on working for your college's library. You loved reading and you go there pretty frequently so you thought that this was the perfect job for you and you can also have some extra credits

The first days there you notice a particular student entering the library at the same time every day, five o'clock to be precise. At firts you didn't pay much attention to him, he was like every other students after all.

But as the time passes by you find yourself looking for him every afternoon, hoping to see him again at the same time.

He was pretty - a pretty handsome guy to be fair - so it was obvious that he would eventually catch your attention. He also has a unique and calm aura, making him more interesting to you.

This is how we ended up in this exact day. The day was pretty boring, not many people entered the library and you spent most of your shift seating behind the desk and organizing the shelfs.

The sound of the door opening caught you attention. It was him, the boy with pretty eyes. Looking at the clock you smiled, five o'clock, right on time.

He, as usual, when straight up to the 'romance novel' shelft. You wanted to talk to him so bad, but how he will react if you just approached him out of the blue ?. So, when you saw him grabbing one of your favorite books you knew you couldn't let this opportunity slide away.

— 'That's one of my favorites books' you said, standing behind his back. He turned around as soon as he heard your voice, smiling at you. He was tall, his frame almost towering you, and he was even prettier up close.

— 'Really? i didn't know that you were into this type of books' actually he knew it perfectly, he saw the same exact book on you desk the other day that's why he choose it.

You didn't notice but since the first time he entered the library he was enchanted by you. Images of you behind your desk with your glasses on and you hair up in a messy bun keep repeating on his mind since that day, he then started frequenting your workplace more.

— 'I actually love romance novels but this one is amazing really, the characters are so well written that you empathize a lot with them and the plot is like strangers to loves and-' you looked at him for the first time and you were shocked to say the least when you found him looking directly at you, totally hypnotized while listening to you. — 'I talk too much don't i?' you look at you feets trying to avoid his gaze.

Jungwon giggled, putting on of his hand under your chin and lifting your face until your eyes met again. You almost melt under his touch. — 'Not at all, i love hearing you talk' he said almost whispering, you didn't realize how closr both of you eere until he backed up a bit.

He handled you the book — 'Sadly I have to go now i have some things to do but i will come back to rent this book okey?'. You nodded, you were completely out of words and your heart was beating fastly. — 'See you around pretty librarian'.

Then he made his way towards the door and, before closing it, he gave your the sweetest smile ever showing his pretty dimple.

You stood there with the book in your hands. When you were about to put it back on the shelf you saw a piece of paper sticking out tje side.

You picked it up and opened it. You put your back against the shelf and slid down until you were sitting on the floor smiling at the note.

Luckily, you spent most of your time in the library which was in the Ever side of the school; so for the most part, you didn’t see Lesso.

Except for staff meetings…

That was only the beginning…

But the worst of it was that you found yourself gravitating to Lesso’s taunts and jeers.

Yea, they hurt, but she was like a fucking magnet…

After a particularly brutal staff meeting, in which you had to excuse yourself because you and Lesso had gotten so heated, you rushed to the teachers quarters to compose yourself.

Lesso had gotten you to the verge of tears this time.

And she had had the biggest fucking Cheshire Cat grin while doing so…

But that wasn’t even the worst of it.

The worst of it was the ever growing wet spot in your knickers accompanied by a tightening coil in your stomache.

You rushed into the female staff shower quarters (yes the school was old fashion, dormitory style in that way), slamming the door shut behind you.

You stripped and quickly turned on the hot water to try and calm yourself.

this helps him a lot with art and he's actually pretty good at it even though he's not as passionate about it as he is with football/soccer

he started drawing through doodling his favourite manga characters and he's able to recreate art styles almost perfectly

he's actually pretty careless when it comes to his schoolwork (esp for STEM) so sometimes he'll hand in incomplete work bc it looks like he's already filled in certain questions

like no. you doodled an eye instead of solving for "x"

he canonically hates science, but if he had to choose one branch as his favourite, it would be chemistry (not boring & derivative memorization like bio but not absolutely insane like physics)

something might contradict this in canon but i hc his handwriting is pretty shitty lmao

since so many sports anime characters look like him (nanase haruka, kageyama tobio, etc) i like to pretend they're all cousins and they meet up at family reunions to compete to see who's better at their respective sport

so yeah despite having no siblings he has a shit ton of cousins who he's really close to

he was conceived by accident 💀 his parents love and coddle him despite this

despite showing the exact opposite of the typical symptoms (great spacial awareness, scarily good empathy, etc) i still say he's got autism lmao. he just has a really unique type yk

his hobby is canonically walking, but i wanna expand on this a little bit

he somehow doesn't listen to music on his walks

furthermore, he rarely ever brings his phone out on walks at all. he likes being at one with his surroundings and he doesn't want his phone to distract him

which is understandable. unless we're talking about how he'll sometimes walk 2+ hours to go to a friends house AND HE DOESN'T HAVE IT?? NO GPS??? NO MAP NOTHING

he's just spent so much time walking around saitama he has a map of most of it installed in his mind

he really doesn't use his phone much at all. he has a few accounts in case he wants to check something out, but he doesn't post anything + barely follows anyone + even has a blank pfp on everything

he apparently received 0 valentine's chocolates in the previous year, but a few ppl from school had a crush on him

he's not popular or anything but some ppl over the years thought he was a genuinely sweet guy and quietly observed him from a distance

he's completely oblivious to this

his school friends all have way more romantic experience than him and they all tease him for this

he gets really frustrated about this and tries to convince himself he likes certain ppl in hopes of something sticking

when he genuinely likes someone he's oblivious to this too lmaoo

he's the type of guy to take dodgeball in PE wayyy too seriously

the first time he swore was when he was eight and got mad at his teammates for slacking off

he got in trouble for this and never swore in front of an adult ever again

(the lack of any physical adults in blue lock made him fall back on his foul mouth)

his fav class is PE in canon but i think i remember something about isagi hating baseball? that might have just been someone else's hc but yeah

he enjoys basketball and badminton, but he thinks volleyball is mid

the one time his school tried floor hockey he enjoyed it well enough

american football is just way too confusing for him

he had no backup plans in case football/soccer didn't work out, but he'd be fantastic in psychology and/or politics

I forgot if you talked abt this, but does the whole "being on the same level as mochi" thing ever come up in honest conversation between them? Seems like an entire...thing that really influences lime's choices when it comes to the main conflict. I would think either some time after mochi's over her initial jealousy, or heck wayyy after they stop the witch king

oooo youre right i dont think ive talked much about it or at all.,... but YEAH a very key part of limes character is his need to be on the same level as her...partly a pride thing, partly a "i dont feel like i have the right to stand beside her unless i can compete with her" thing

(sorry for the long post rambles, apparently i have a lot more thoughts on this than i thought it did)

but actually this comes up WAY sooner, its WAY too big of an elephant in the room post-timeskip to go un-talked about. pre-timeskip lime could kind of quietly work away at trying to be better, but post-timeskip the m-34th thing is too obvious of a flag for mochi to think everything is okay with him

i think the issues really starts to be hashed out when mochi, at some point (relatively quickly after they reunite), brings up the notion of him quitting the m-34th. to an extent she understood why he joined, he gave her a bunch of reasons why he joined the regiment in the first place (jumping around a bunch of excuses like "They have good benefits" / "I was bored" / etc before finally telling her the truth that "I wanted to find you"), but what she didnt understand is why he stays in

she gave it a bit of time, they went through the whole "well you left me" vs "you joined the organization that exists to kill us" -> "call it even, water under the bridge" thing, and she thought that after a few weeks (months?) he would quit and just be part of her guild again, but he doesnt.

and when she asks him about it, he dodges the question, gives shit answers, dismisses it, a bunch of different things with the underlying message being "I'm not leaving you, but I'm not gonna quit working for them."

and she doesnt want to give him the "choose me or them" ultimatum either (even though pom seems all for it), because 1.) it feels like a shitty thing to do to him, if hes fighting this hard to stay in she doesnt want him to be unhappy, and 2.) shes afraid he might actually choose them

she starts to think a lot of things, that maybe he harbors some bitterness towards her, maybe he doesnt want to put all his eggs in one basket, maybe hes secretly feeding them information on her behind her back, ALL kinds of things.

eventually (and upsettingly) she gets the truth from clarinette. it takes fucking clarinette babbling her mouth away for mochi to get something that she hasnt gotten from lime himself. clarinette (in her delulu) wants to brag a little in the vein of "Haha he confided in me and not in you haha," and mentioned that when she asked him why he stays, he told her "The m-34th makes me stronger" or something along those lines.

and mochis first thought is "I can make him stronger too, he doesnt need to go to them."

and when she CONFRONTS him and tells him this, he gives her a flat "No, you can't." and it FEELS very cold when he says it. she can see the bitterness (bitterness???) behind his eyes when he says it. and its not a bitterness TOWARDS HER, its more of a "I spent 2 years before you left trying everything I could to make myself worthy of you this, and it did nothing. I would take 1 step forward and you would take 5. I'm not going back to that."

so this confrontation became one of those make it or break it conversations for lime, because his only two options were 1) tell mochi the actually pretty embarrassing and pathetic truth, or 2) risk losing her because shes already doubting him enough as it is

i think he probably tries route 2 first though. and whatever it is he tells her, he can see something in her eyes (mistrust? failing faith? fear?) which tells him "Oh no, oh shit, oh god, backtrack you idiot, BACKTRACK!!!" because if he lets this narrative go on for even a few minutes more, hes not going to be able to come back from it.

so he eventually actually does tell her the truth!! and he hates doing it. he really does feel pathetic. its so petty and stupid, he thinks. he shouldnt be trying to compete with the cat witch, hes supposed to be supportive. but he fucking hates being ONLY supportive. he wants to add something, contribute something meaningful, not just be a little accessory/sidekick to mochi.

and (as already mentioned) he cant do that without the m-34th. pre-timeskip he felt useless. and relative to mochi, he was. she wont say it, but she didnt need him. she would reassure him and tell him "You're amazing Lime!" but deep down she knew that after Amanita was dealt with and she was the full-fledged cat witch, she could do all of it on her own (and proves it when she leaves and takes none of them with her). she liked having him there (obviously), but anything he could do she could do better.

he felt like he just took up space, and when she left without telling him or taking him with her, it essentially proved his point. it was not even just a "I dont need you" thing anymore, it was now a "I don't need you, and I also know you don't have the means or ability to change that" and that fucking HURT.

the m-34th though....those guys really honed the shit out of his strengths. on an insane level. they gave him so many skills and tools as a black canvas to do SO MANY THINGS and SO WELL, and maybe this does bring up some resentment to the guild and magic?? that he had so much untapped potential that mochi could just not bring out in an effective way, it essentially bottlenecked him (not her fault, its hard to build the talents of an anti-magic person by using magic).

but these guys...as "bad" as they are (so the witches say), they gave him (and still give him) the power to change that which he hated about himself the most. so that "I don't need you, and I also know you don't have the means or ability to change that" thing can finally FINALLY be met with "Yeah you do, and yeah I fucking can."

so all these feelings manifest as "I won't leave the m-34th because they make me strong enough to stand by your side and not at your feet." AND THEY DO!!!!!! and he probably doesnt say those words directly but everything he DOES say communicates it enough for mochi to see it

(and he probably tells her all of this. she just listens)

so mochi, eventually, understands this. it took the whole pre-timeskip period and some of the post-timeskip period to get there, but she understands him a little more now (and a side of him she didnt know was there). i dont think theres anything she can do to change this aspect of him, but she at least understands his reasons and respects his freedom to pursue that which gives him peace, even if it conflicts with her uh.....occupation (nature?) as a witch. she also can tell him, without any lies or nice little reassurances that "You really are amazing, Lime." in a way she could never be, and he got there on his own, without her. i think shes happy just to know the truth, and know that hes not like betraying her or something. also she probably finds it kinda sweet that he works so hard to stand by her, but tries not to let it go to her head (or her heart) because at least half of it is a lime pride thing and not a mochi love thing

he also throws in a very lime-esq ending on it like "There I said it happy now??? Never make me talk about this again." while completely red-faced. he really does hate this side of himself but he cant help it.

he also cooks you a three-course-dinner using all knowledge he has of the food you really like because nothing can stop him from making this day as special as he can

he also prepares a little gift for you - a silver necklace with a tiny heart on it

brushes it off when you assume correctly that he spent wayyy too much money on that

overall it’s a very comfortable and romantic evening you spend together

Ten:

wants it to be fancy and to impress you

so he plans to take you shopping to some expensive stores, where he lets you pick out your own Christmas present (he WILL complain if you pick something comparably cheap askdjflaks)

for dinner he reserved a table at a famous restaurant, because he wants to ensure you get only the best food

he insists on paying for everything, because he wants to make you feel special

only when he’s sure you’re full and content does he take you back home

at the end of the day you cuddle up in bed, spending some quality time together before drifting off to sleep in each other’s arms

Winwin:

he takes you to meet his family

spending holidays with his loved ones is very important to him, and so he’s happy he gets to celebrate Christmas with both his family and his s/o

takes extra good care that you’re comfortable and tries his best to do whatever he can to help you feel at home

a pretty calm evening spent with good homemade food

later on you all exchange presents and then you play some games together

even though everything seems to go well, you boyfriend is still a bit worried that maybe you didn’t feel fully comfortable after all when you two go to bed

however, you assure him that you had fun and he shouldn’t worry so much, before falling asleep together

to him this is the perfect opportunity for some quality bonding time

that’s why he convinces you to cook your own Christmas dinner together

this will obviously end in a big mess, and not every one of the planned dishes turns out as it should

however, you have a lot of fun preparing everything, and that’s what counts!

there may or may not be a minor food fight happening at one point, which just ends in kisses and hugs uwu

overall it’s a very fulfilling experience, and you have to realize you’ve made way too much food lol

the evening ends filled with laughter which eventually fades into a more calm mood when you go to sleep

Hendery:

he’ll go with whatever you want to do

whether you’re visiting your family or if you want to go Christmas shopping or go out to get food - he’ll tag along

will offer to buy you snacks and street food whenever you pass by something that looks tasty (really he just wants to try it himself so he’ll hope you say yes)

will basically just spoil you all day

he’ll convince you to just order some good food, because “we could never make it as well and efficiently as a restaurant can anyway”

however, afterwards he’ll demand cuddles and praises for taking care of you so well all day

you can’t tell if he’s joking or being serious, but you were planning on thanking him anyway, so you grant his wish

just wants to have fun with you

he takes you ice skating while it’s still daytime

if you’re not good at it he will teach you how to do it, but he will also ask you to race him, mercilessly leaving you behind and comforting you with a big hug after you lost :’)

you return home when it starts getting dark, where you order some food from both your favourite restaurant

it’s nothing out of the ordinary, but somehow the way his eyes sparkle when he looks at the cutely decorated tree and then you still makes the day feel special

after dinner you snuggle up on the couch and watch some Christmas movies you’ve seen countless of times before, until the day finally comes to a peaceful end

okay this is gonna be very long and extremely rambly and not very planned out ok? ok. spoilers under the cut

FINE. I LIKED IT. WHATEVER. hit me with a car.

obviously there were parts of it that i didn't like. obviously there were moments that i felt were out of character. nevertheless, i had a lot of fucking fun while reading it. i love nico and overall i'd say i'm happy with where the story leaves him. yes, this book's existence is extremely unnecessary. but i appreciate it for what it is.

okay let's get the main things i didn't like out of the way:

nico would NOT know who lil nas x is. also why was the montero music video mentioned in a book for middle schoolers.

i understand the role that nyx is meant to play in the story and the message of it but idk i kinda wish they did her character a bit differently. she really reminded me of white diamond from steven universe i'm so sorry.

speaking of nyx that WHOOOLE weird "our children" thing with nico and the cacodemons. that made me very uncomfortable.

last nyx complaint the final confrontation with her ended pretty anticlimactically. kinda like with gaea, it felt like the way to defeat her was a little too simple. but y'know i haven't really been satisfied by a final battle since tlo so. that's just how it is.

it felt like will was kiiiiinda useless for a lot of it. obviously he was important for the story but i wish they had let him do some more cool stuff besides occasionally shooting some light lasers. i get he's a healer but why didn't he bring a WEAPON??? like at the very least he could have had a bow or a knife. y'know we haven't really had a character who uses a blunt force weapon as their main one besides hedge. i would've liked to see will with just a baseball bat or something LMAO.

kind of an add-on to the last one i think that will was nerfed wayyy too much. it makes sense that the underworld would weaken him, but it sometimes felt like they were stopping every five minutes to let him rest. we've seen before that he's quite strong and athletic, i just feel like he should've had a bit more stamina.

there were a few dialogue moments that sounded like they came from some extremely online gay teenager and not nico and will. "bisexual chaos" haunts me. he would not fucking say that.

NO HAZEL APPEARANCE and NO REYNA MENTION. this is the worst one.

i feel like tartarus should've been more physically dangerous. like they fought some monsters here and there and the terrain was hard to navigate but most of the dangers that they dealt with were more mental/emotional. you could argue that we got the physical danger from percy and annabeth's journey so that's why this one focuses more on the mental danger and i could see why you'd think that. but idk sometimes it felt like it was a little toooo easy y'know.

there were some parts of the backstories and flashbacks that were inconsistent with the previous books, like nico saying he spent weeks at camp half blood when he first arrived when he was actually there for only one. but continuity errors are just par for the course with these books at this point so it honestly doesn't bother me too much. we make our own canon.

i'm not a fan of the name cocoa puffs. i feel like they could've come up with something better.

i'm sure there are more that i'm forgetting, but those are my main gripes. okay now onto the things that i liked!!!!

the book was fun. it was just fun. there were some jokes that i genuinely laughed at and there weren't really any points that felt like a slog to read through. i was pretty consistently entertained the whole time.

WILL AND NICO WERE CUTE OKAY. THEY WERE CUTE. maybe this is just 12-year-old me talking but i sincerely found their relationship very sweet. it's abundantly clear how much they both care about each other and what they're willing to do to protect each other. they mean a lot to me okay.

i want to specifically draw attention to the part where it was revealed that nico gave will his skull ring and now he wears it on a necklace. absolutely devastated me. changed my life. people died. in a good way.

I LOVEDDDD the tension and conflict that will and nico had between them for most of the book. it made their relationship so much more believable to me! they haven't even been together for a year! they're complete opposites! they had very different upbringings! they're in an INCREDIBLY STRESSFUL AND DANGEROUS SITUATION in an environment that is literally designed to dig up their biggest frustrations and insecurities! they're going to clash and have fights and have very different worldviews that they need to work through. that doesn't make them a bad couple like i've seen some people say. tell me you've never had a loved one say something hurtful or ignorant to you. tell me you've never said something hurtful or ignorant to a loved one. you can't! because you have! but if you love each other you talk about it and work through it and try your best to understand each other!!!!!!

adding to the last one i like how the conflict got resolved by will realizing he needs to put in more effort to understand nico and nico realizing he needs to open up more to allow will to understand him. open and honest communication and a willingness to be vulnerable babey!!! if you want to be loved you have to submit to the mortifying ordeal of being known!!!!!!!

I LOVED. THE DREAM SEQUENCES. they all went so hard. some of them were downright disturbing. good shit.

even if they had some continuity errors, i enjoyed the flashback scenes and the backstories. we got quite a lot more than i thought we would. i was not expecting to see the entirety of nico's first journey through tartarus. it hurt me a lot.

i think it's cute they're making it canon that nico and will knew of each other since pjo. they were in each other's orbit before they even knew it. it actually got me thinking about some of my own relationships. i have a friend i knew back when i was 4 who i completely forgot about for years, only for us to reconnect by chance when we were 12 and be best friends ever since. i have a friend who was a vague acquaintance of mine for years, but then one day we somehow started talking more and now they're one of the closest friends i've ever had. idk. something about meeting someone once at the wrong time and then again at the right one.

nico was very cool. he was also a massive dweeb. he can do both. i love him.

i like the cacodemons as a very literal metaphor for learning to live with your trauma and the "worst" parts of yourself. celeste vibes dare i say. also nico just has a bunch of lil guys following him around now and i think that's neat.

fuck man. i like seeing nico be happy. i like seeing him in a happy relationship with someone he loves and who loves him just as much. i like that he's still learning to let go of his grief and move on. i like that he's hopeful at the end of the book that he can actually find happiness. he's always been one of the most tragic characters in the pjo-verse and it's so nice to see him just being HAPPY.

despite how hard to believe it was i did really like the little dream scene with the whole di angelo family. nico got to talk to bianca and maria one last time, he got to hug his dad, he finally got to rest for a bit. it was very cathartic and i maybe cried.

this book's message was very clearly for young queer kids who don't have everything figured out yet. you're allowed to change. you don't have to always be one thing. your past doesn't define you. you can find love. you can have hope. no matter how badly written you believe the story is, no matter how inconsistent you believe the characterization is, it's hard to deny how important these messages are and how badly some kids need to hear them. if the book has one redeeming quality, it's this.

so. yeah. i liked it. i had a good time. there's more that i could say but i would honestly just end up adding onto this forever. people who don't like the book have plenty of valid reasons to feel that way, even if i may not agree with some of them. at the end of the day, this story and these characters are not real. please be nice to each other and try not to take things too seriously. we're all just a bunch of late teens and young adults reading a book series for middle schoolers, and i think that's beautiful. thank you for reading if you actually made it this far, i know it was a lot. peace and love on planet earth.

Ahh, thank you! Okay, so first, the game is gonna look really different in my storyline because A) accidentally made Rodolfo and Alejandro a two for one package (i'll explain in a moment) so Rodolfo is just kind of gonna have to be there for most of the scenes he wasn't and B) not a lot of the game actually makes sense with the new context (ironically the alone mission is completely fine). Personally, I'm fine with putting Rodolfo in more because he's my favorite character and I love writing for him, and C) a few missions are getting ret conned because they make no sense in the new context and also, I don't want to write them.

Second, I am probably gonna use this magic system for my next book because Anon, I have already spent wayyy too long coming up with details for it.

Anyway, let me tell you about the characters and stuff. Basically, first, I gotta get this out of the way, without thinking I made this idea where there are people born with mostly supplemental powers or powers that rely on others. (Rodolfo, for example, and Price). In most countries in North and South America, they pair up a physically powered person (called Elementals because I am lazy) with one of these supplemental/reliant powered people. A few examples are mirrors, healers, and those who can just magnify or mute powers on their own, but also Prisms. Ergo, Rodolfo and Alejandro are "bonded" and each other's "pair". Do you see how this accidentally makes them inseparable lol? (Also I have put too much thought into their relationship if anyone wants me to make a post just about that)

Prisms are also seen as kind of useless in other parts of the world where they're more rare.

Soap, specifically, is going to have this bias, though he doesn't realize it and gets better lol.

There's also a lot of bias for other Magi (my chosen name for these people unless it is problematic in which case, no it is not and I will change it) between each group of Magi. Like, Torches hate Blizzards and Aquifiers for obvious reasons, everyone hates Mirrors because they "steal" abilities, etc etc. (See how I put too much thought?)

Basically, i have a lot I have to preface for the characters. Normal racism and stuff still exists as well, but that's to be expected.

Oh and all characters have like One almost special move that they do (some have more but it’s mostly one) because I’m trying to stick with video game elements

Some details from my character notes I'm making:

Ghost

Same backstory just a little more fitted for this AU.

Spirits are rare and Ghost is one of the few left in Europe

For Spirits that are found and scouted for the military, almost all do solo missions. Ghost is the first in a while to work on a task squad.

Spirits can see each other when they’re “Cloaked” and this is why Ghost can’t cloak and find Johnny as Graves has several searching the town

Reason why spirits are so rare is they have to pull themselves back together and some “cloak” for the first time and just can’t pull themselves back

Cloaks involuntarily when he’s nervous

He ends up accidentally bonded with Soap and so can “blow” things up into shadow just by touching them

Can make parts of his body cloak without the rest cloaking (his special move)

Soap:

Was the most powerful Firecracker on his training unit, but has really bad impulsive habits which held him back a bit

Wasn’t scouted, still tried to sign up at 16 several times

Soap, due to bond, can use Ghost’s knives to blow people up into shadows

Gets hit in the alone mission with bullets that block his power, leaving him defenseless for the entirety of it

Smells like gunpowder all the time

Still a very proficient sniper

Calls Ghost’s ability ��poofing” and gets his life threatened by Ghost

Gaz:

Was scouted at 18 and was the most powerful Telekinetic in his training unit

Still considered one of the most powerful

His special move is called “flicking” as he can send small objects flying at roughly the same speed as a bullet and is fairly precise with it

Keeps a bag of marbles that Price occasionally refills so he can use them to flick

He and Rodolfo break a window because both and curious how big of an item Gaz can flick when he’s magnified

Smashes a giant rock over someone at some point

Still fell out of a helicopter and had to use his abilities upside down

Found out his ability by breaking a window when playing marbles as a kid

Price:

Despite not being that great of a Prism, is a very very good soldier

Prisms in England usually get put in charge of Units and Squads due to their ability being helpful in keeping control of their men

Can just turn off powers like a light switch

Has a potential secondary ability because his senses are incredibly heightened

Can still feel abilities like other prisms

Alejandro:

Joined at 18 and Rodolfo followed, them being paired was only natural because of their already existent bond

One of the most powerful torches

Actually another reason Elementals are paired with someone is so if they get to be a problem, their pair can just be taken out which does pretty severe damage to the Elemental

Special ability is just straight lighting himself on fire and fighting people

When Rodolfo is magnifying him he can make giant fireballs

Doesn’t physically touch anyone anymore because he’s burned several people (including Rodolfo)

When he gets angry, his skin smokes and becomes too hot to touch, so Rodolfo mutes his powers

Not at all useless without Rodolfo but because of their trust, Rodolfo has a lot of control over Alejandro’s powers so Alejandro can just focus on fighting and keeping them both alive

Blood boiling is an accident thing, not something he has much control over

Tattoos glow when he’s using his ability. I think that is a cool trope

Rodolfo:

Is a fairly powerful prism, hence why it was even more natural for him to be paired with Alejandro

Alejandro doesn’t even know he can mirror because they’re very looked down upon and exploited by militaries everywhere

Special move is actually magnifying someone’s ability to the point they “burn out” and die. Doesn’t use it often because he loses all of his abilities for a while afterwards

Doesn’t stop him from blowing up a Firecracker in front of Soap because Soap asked if he was defenseless without Alejandro

If a Prism dies, their pair can “burn out” and die, so Prisms have to be trained really well in self defense, so Rodolfo is far from defenseless

Gets “has to be kept alive” privilege from the Los Vaqueros due to being Alejandro’s pair. In general in the Los Vaqueros, Prisms and healers are well protected not just for them but for their pairs

The fire in the one scene is replaced with him being stabbed and sprinklers being on because the whole fire element doesn’t make sense with Alejandro’s ability lol

Has a burn scar on his neck and cheek from getting into a fight with Alejandro. Doesn’t talk about them much

I have details for Valeria and Graves too (also a lot more for each character. Like a Lot More.) And I just have like way more details about the worldbuilding in general. Again, I’m a fantasy writer, magic systems are my favorite part, so just ask me anything, I can and will answer it

ik it's a bit of a far-fetched question since she was barely around to be a MOTHER, much less a grandma, but how would Sally get along with Yogurt and Granola?

in a hypothetical universe where she survived and her family was better off mentally a LOTTT of stuff in the parfait au wouldn’t have happened. Probably including granola in the first place. But I’m going to ignore that. Rambling with drawings under the cut!

DISCLAIMER. None of this is canon bcs sally is dead and gone 💔

If she had lived she’d have gotten along with the kids well enough! They’re part of her family obviously and sally really likes babies. she and yogurt specifically get along swimmingly. They were both wild children even if it was under different circumstances. Yogurt was left heavily traumatized from his first few years of life so it takes him a really long time to like people. Once sally got his trust she spent as much time with him as she could. He’s her favorite easily. Of course she wouldn’t say that out loud but everyone can kind of tell. Whenever she’s visiting he wants to sleep with her but it takes wayyy longer for him to like Wilbur than Sally so his grandpa has to sleep on the couch 😔

Also like I’ve mentioned before sally makes jewelry out of little shells and things!!! But unfortunately granola really hates having things around her neck and wrists so it alllllll ends up going to yogurt. Which he isn’t complaining about of course. Sometimes yogurt and her will go out to the shore and collect shells to make into jewelry. They can spend HOURS just with each other just carving little holes into things.. it distracts sally from how offended she is that granola loudly complains about having to wear anything sally has made while she’s visiting.

The one real big connection granola and sally do have is siren stuff. If sally had lived she’d have been able to teach her son the sort of communal telepathy sirens do. And other magic shit of course. So she’s also very insistent on granola learning it at the first sign granola has siren magic. It’s all very boring a tedious to granola though and she gets very frustrated at not getting the hang of it immediately and also having to keep in the same place for such a long time. It’s entertaining enough when she’s a little baby but as the years roll on and she can’t get herself to do it it just makes her bitter and angry at sally. Eventually because of her tantrums H talks fundy into not making her do it anymore since it’s obviously really upsetting granola. Which in turn makes Sally angry at fundy and it’s this whole horrible ordeal which makes sally like H even less than she already does.

Once they all calm down sally does apologize to granola. The meditation sessions are way less frequent and much shorter and SURPRISE. Granola actually does manage to get the hang of it in a lower stress situation. But ya sally still doesn’t like H for a variety of reasons. H and Fundy sort of have their own way of communicating that annoys her and she also thinks he’s not a great influence on her son and his kids. Which is probably true but tbf she and her husband didn’t do amazing either.

Despite H trying to be polite sally is always angry at her for one reason or another. ESPECIALLY while fundy was carrying. (She was sort of mad that had happened in the first place). After granola was born their relationship improved a little bit but definitely not enough for them to hold a conversation together. H is one of the very few things that set fundy and sally off . whatever. They seem to be enjoying each other somehow so she won’t push it too much. But she will still be side eyeing him every time they’re together. At least he’s funny

7. What's one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them?

Oh god this is one hell of an ask. There’s so much about Riku that has changed since I first conceptualized him but I think a big one is his personality. Something I’ve noticed about him is that because I’ve had him around for so long, whatever I’m interested in tends to rub off on him a little as a character both in terms of design and personality. For example when Hades released and I played it I kinda saw parallels between Riku and Zagreus and kinda took a bit of inspiration from him and put him into Riku if that makes sense? I don’t really know if that’s a good thing lmao it’s just something I personally have done for a long time (and sometimes I’m not even aware I’m doing it either). Although I will say that I am very happy with how he is now, this was more when I was still building on his personality and fleshing him out as a character!

He started out as a much more cool guy kinda character, one who was very relaxed and non serious (almost to the point of not really caring) when in the real world but in the Metaverse he was more focused and would often come up with battle strategies (and this used to be the original conflict between him and Makoto). Now I would say he’s a lot sillier overall I guess and also I think he’s more caring than when I originally first created him. He really does have a heart of gold and he cares so much about those he loves he ends up doing really stupid things because of it. In the Metaverse now he’s also wayyy more charismatic and treats everything like a game (think Dante… yeah I know) and is constantly shit talking his enemies. He knows when to shut up and get serious though. Sometimes.

25. What is your favorite thing about your OC?

Everything? OK but seriously I have a lot because Riku is so important to me but I think ultimately the thing I love most about Riku is actually how he’s effected me creatively. I started doing art again (did it a lot when I was younger then stopped cause of school actually) and even tried digital art for the first time back in 2020 and nearly 3 and a half years later and I haven’t stopped. All so I could draw this silly guy. He’s really helped me realize my passion for character design and kinda rekindled that feeling for art I had when I was a kid. And not to mention I’ve spent years planning and creating this AU and even writing stuff for him too. Wasn’t expecting to get so introspective and personal bu uh there you go.

HOLY SHIT HI KOTO ANON!!! UR ASKS R LIKE… SUPER COOL. Anyways this ask is unrelated w/ koto-anons ask, i just think they’re cool,,,

anyways, more shiobi brainrot and expanding on my last ask abt kakashi because oh my fucking god, these bitches make me so fucking sad. (also the fucking naruto timeline makes my head hurt so fuck the timeline!)

Ever since he was little, Obito would always make up stories about his team in a fairytale-esk way. For example: “the white wolf who's always a stickler for rules!” and “how he saved a princess!” (this is kinda relevant idk– i wanted to include this part into the confrontation but things just don't work out)

Later on, Obito would die during THE mission– with shisui’s genin team dying within the same month. Shisui was well, inconsolable. That doesn’t help with the fact that the Uchiha clan is now looking at him with those eyes and– obito-nii please. I'm scared. please come back… – and how he’s now treated as a weapon.

Then boom Inoichi and Shisui bonding time. (more like therapy sessions but shhh…)

During this time, Shisui has never seen Kakashi ever since Obito’s death. And with the rumors of Kakashi being well… a friend killer. Uhm. yikes.

Later on in his life, he was well recruited into anbu– he saw like kakashi in his hound mode (kakashi’s inner thoughts: oh god oh fuck– OBITO’S LITTLE BROTHER. IS IN FUCKING ANBU. FUCK. (kakashi’s a mess and i love him))

He passes yada yada. Skipping to Kakashi’s and Shisui’s confrontation–

“S–Shisui...?” and just like that, the air within Shisui’s lungs [just evaporates.] He knew that voice– no, he knows that voice. [smth smth about being obito’s teammate)

His mind is clouded with denial, grief, and.. and..

… and anger. [so so so much anger boils inside Shisui]. He wanted to yell why Obito died instead of him. He wanted to sob into him knowing that his older brother’s death didn’t go to waste and how he knew he cared way too much about his teammates and and– He wanted to attack Kakashi right there and then because how dare he–!

He… … feels a lot of things about Kakashi and it takes [his entire willpower to not contort his face.] “... I hate you so much,” He blurted with [such venom in his voice]. He knows he shouldn’t let his anger get the better of him– he knows it isn’t kakashi’s fault but… feelings are so so irrational, aren’t they?

Hou– Kakashi [took a step back– no, backpedaled.] and and … fuck.

“I’m… For what it’s worth, I’m.. I’m sorry,” Kakashi said, his voice hitching. “Sorries won’t bring Obito back.” He spat, before walking away from him.

Ok so, i cannot believe i actually wrote that WHOOPS. Is Shisui a bit ooc? Maybe but shh! Anyways! After that, they both tip toed towards each other before they decide to actually get to know each other and bond through the trauma they both went through.

Shisui never knew how Obito truly died just that he knew that Kakashi had Obito’s eyes (and for all that he hated Kakashi, he knew he wasn’t a bloodline thief.) and then boom trauma bonding then boom Shisui died presumeably from suicide. (which uh… not the best move Shisui)

Kakashi just went straight to grieving mode because he lost the last connection to Obito and spent his life devoted to protecting Naruto because he isn’t gonna lose another precious person of his.

This is just a rough idea, my daydreams are wayyy more in depth but i need to get this outta my system lol.

It is currently 11 pm. I think I have a problem with asking during ungodly hours <3 ALSO IF ANYONE ELSE WANNA WRITE ABT THIS… PLS DO. I DON’T HAVE THE MOTIVATION TO WRITE 😭

I love Carson with my whole heart he is everything to me

What happened to that whole thing where the purrgil were ship destroyers? Like that’s their whole introduction was in Rebels where everyone’s like “These things are dangerous they just wander and destroy ships don’t go near them that’s all they do”

And then Ezra (I think I don’t exactly remember) is like “actually they’re pretty smart. Also they use hidden hyperspace lanes to travel. So they’re actually pretty cool” and THAT was just a thing in like season 2 or something wayyy before the finale.

But now they’re just weaving their way through the ships??

I guess you could argue that Ahsoka was like “hey could you not” and/or the captains were moving the ships around the purrgil but still they’re known to be super destructive even if the ships try to avoid them?

In terms of my cohort, I definitely do feel younger than them. Less experienced. That really manifested, for me, when the ones in my evodevo class were sharing their ideas for the final project. Their ideas just seemed so much more mature (robust, specific, identifying resources relevant to them and finding ways to relate this project pretty closely to their interests) compared to mine. And it's like, I don't know.. I mean I know I'm not supposed to be comparing myself to other people when I can help it. But I don't know how much of their.. intellectual/research maturity(?) comes from having years more than me to devote to research on a basically full-time basis before starting this program. And I don't know how to go about trying to catch up without burning out? I don't even know if that's the right way to think about this, I don't know if it's even a problem at all. I don't know what my advisor thinks and a large enough part of me is too afraid to ask.

I feel like I'm a ways out of my depth.

I don't feel too much different, but my advisor being the prof kind of helps. Like, he has some ideas for people/resources I can look into for data.

Finished my braids. They're a bit boneless ha. My parting technique needs work, the front and back are def unbalanced density-wise (I only used four bundles out of the eight I ordered). But that's okay just in case I'm not feeling the color and want to take them out quickly. I didn't really even try to "tuck" so my roots definitely show through, especially in the bigger sections at the back. I mean, no one would ever think I was a natural ginger anyway and that wasn't the goal. Ultimately, I think the color is cute, and having so much left means I should be able to do another set some day, or maybe I can use this color for accents around the bangs/temples with my typical black. I'll give it a week to decide how I really feel about it. Pretty sure I'm going for minitwists next, though. Maybe twice. Just to give my hair some time to breathe.

Read through my SOP to my current uni last night to prep for tomorrow's talk and boy I sure did sound confident. Like, the words are certainly mine, but the tone is so unlike me. I fear the woman who wrote that (...in an afternoon, no less).

Anyway I got some good feedback from my advisor on my talk today. Implementing it now. It's a lot of little stylistic notes. I'm worried that I'm going to go over time. We'll see. It's not for a grade in the typical sense, but I'd argue that this is just as if not more important than any "grade" I'm getting in my other classes. Coursework is a semester-long endeavor. Several intense weeks. I'm going to be in this department for years. Gotta make a good first impression.

[edit, a few hours later: spent wayyy too long trying to perfect this presentation when the best thing i can do for myself rn is go to bed]

Today I'm thankful that listening to vgm doesn't hurt as much anymore.

(vgm is entrenched into my personal brand at this point so I've got some catching up to do if I want to keep my steak of 6(?) years straight of having a vgm composer as my top artist, and Vincent Diamante deserves it by now tbh. unfortunately listening to the skyrim ambience while watching a 12-hour landscape walk on youtube isn't counting for anything)

hello stardew! this is red (21+, they/them) and i’m super excited to be here! i’m bringing senlin to pelican town, who is a bit of a handful and also rina’s stepbrother at the winery (yes their family is mr. worldwide). i’ll put a really short little overview of his sitch under this and a few plots i’d really like, so feel free to drop a like on this post if you’re interested in anything, or just plotting in general!

senlin’s basically spent almost his whole life here! he’s sort of never had a normal childhood for several reasons, one being that his mother and father got divorced really early, which uprooted them into a different country. after the divorce, his father packs everything up, risks it all on purchasing + starting up a winery business, and moves them to pelican town all the way from taiwan.

after a long struggle between insisting he did NOT stay up all night playing games and his father finally realizing that this isn’t normal, he’s diagnosed with narcolepsy at age 15, which pretty much means he has trouble staying awake during the day and will sometimes pass out against his will

anyway so the diagnosis made things a lot easier for him because it finally gave him a proper support system

outside of that, he’s very interested in taking over the winery business when he gets older, so he’s enrolled in a few business classes that he takes primarily online

he’s a hobbyist musician, who plays the ukulele and kalimba. relaxing means taking your little instruments to the grape field and playing music for the farm dogs while feeding them treats for staying...

but when he’s not doing that, he’s being a menace to society: including but not limited to putting googly eyes on all the town signs, sling-shotting rocks into defected bottles of wine by the edge of the forest, being really bad at skipping stones, pushing his own limits a concerning amount which lands him at the clinic too much...

with that out of the way, here are some plots i’d really love to write!

zoom call crushie: someone he develops a puppy love crush on because they’re in the same online class (could be a gen ed?) and tries to flirt via zoom chat - but when he sees them irl around town he doesn’t know how to act

pre-est friendships: others who’ve been in this town for a long time; they’re already accustomed to each other, and he often shows up randomly to say hi and make you try a wine grape from a recent harvest

the worst tour guide ever: someone who’s new to town who he shows around with wayyy too much enthusiasm, maybe ends up taking an impromptu nap midway and it gets kinda awkward

lost pets: your dog’s been missing for a bit too long now and you find senlin with it and think he’s a dog kidnapper or something

drinking buddies at the saloon: maybe senlin’s had some insane idea for how a certain cocktail mix might taste really good and he’s pestering your muse to try it

the clinic: a nurse or employee there who has to see him way too often unfortunately because he does not understand the concept of being careful / or maybe a fellow patient who also has to visit a lot, and they bond in the waiting room

apparently i never talked about survivor ! danny on here. so here's a little bit of info on that:

i think the funniest idea to go with on this is literally nothing changes - character wise for him. he's still a narcissistic serial killer back home, he's just a survivor in the realms instead. probably wouldn't of gotten taken by the fog right after roseville though. i'd say a few months before he came to florida.

definitely not the most altruistic. he'll prioritize his own well-being above all else. HOWEVER, he understands that in order to increase the chances of getting out alive, they need to work together. which is... easier said than done. his entire life, danny has pretty much worked alone.

so what that means is this. he will pay close attention to who he gets put into a trial with. he will analyze how they perform in these situations and deduct who the weakest links are. he's more likely to throw those people under the bus especially if they're not contributing anything to getting out and spend the entire time hiding and running away. but also,, it's the sadistic, horror loving part of his brain too who can't pass up the chance to witness terrified people being hunted down and killed. he justifies it by saying they weren't being any help, but he's also just 👀

he's a stealthy bitch. LITERALLY a bitch to find if you're the killer, because he's just that good at hiding and sneaking away. and he's smart, too. he's very good at predicting where the killer is gonna go or do, and similarly with survivors. seems to always be at the right place at the right time, because of it. he's notable for pallet stun or flashlight saves bc of it.

he kinda. has a masochistic mentality regarding it. because the fucked up horor loving gremlin in his brain is pretty hype about being in the trials, even if it's utter hell. he over all just seems wayyy too comfortable with the way things are, and honestly it wouldn't be shocking if other survivors were like 'dude wtf' @ him.

OH YEAH, and his perks! which are basically just a reverse of the ghostface perks.

takes one to know one

you're intimately familiar with the ins and outs of what it takes to be a real killer. because of this, you have a special bit of insight when it comes to predicting where and how the killer will strike next. every time the killer goes into it's special power, their aura becomes highlighted to you for 8 seconds.

the years you spent on the move and covering your tracks has taught you a thing or two about making a grand escape from the scene at large. when injured, press the action button to activate this perk, hiding your scratch marks and pools of blood for 15 seconds.

teacher's pet

the entity is entertained by your antics and the stakes your presence brings to the trial. if a survivor is picked up while you are within 8 meters of the killer, you are granted the ability to call upon the entity to block the nearest hook for 25 seconds.

Due to Gokay not sleeping well and others with jet-lag, today (Monday) was a really slow morning. I got up around 7:30, Adam was already up. He got Turkish coffee around 8:30, and I worked until about 9a. Gokay and Carley woke up around 9:30. Gokay and Adam went back out for Börek and we had that for breakfast until about 10:45, at which point we decided we needed to get going. By the time we were all dressed and ready we left around 11:30 in a taxi to old Istanbul. With traffic and putting in the wrong Uber address 😅🙃 we got to Gülhane park around 12:30p.

We strolled from the outside edge of the park in towards the entrance to Topkapı palace. We didn’t like the look of the line, so again Gokay saved us with his Turkish and we found a short line and got our museumpass which will get us into all the museums in Istanbul throughout the week. He got a Turkish citizen version, which was less money but doesn’t get him into as many places.

The palace itself was enormous! It’s hard to describe and I took wayyy too many pictures, so here are a few. Thinking about what life was like there was interesting, but difficult, since it doesn’t at all match our existing mental models. For example, it was hard to get a sense of what these rooms would have looked like with furniture, since they were mostly empty. Or anything to do with the Harem, the place where all the women stayed, and where no one else was allowed, unless you were a special protective eunuch or the sultan/emperor.

After that we walked down the hill towards the mosques (there are many!). Sadly, the three we saw today were mostly being renovated so we didn’t get the full experience. First, we did Hagia Irene (Aya irini) - a former Orthadox church that was NOT turned into a Mosque due to using it for weapon storage, and today was 90% was covered up with restoration scafolding. Next we went to Hagia Sophia - a old Byzantine cathedral that was changed into a Mosque (1453AD), which was then changed to a museum (1934), and has now been changed back to a Mosque (2020). Sadly due to restorations, they have closed the second floor with the beautiful paintings on the walls and ceilings. We took a break and did a quick trip into the awesome cisterns under the mosques while the call to prayer happened. Then we made our way through the square/park between the mosques to the Blue mosque (Sultan Ahmet Camii) to finish our day. This one was the most covered of all of the mosques, we saw a little bit of the dome and two stained glass windows. However, we did get an interesting historical lesson from a tour guide (for free!) because Gokay spoke with him in Turkish. We learned why Mecca is important - God put Adam and Eve in different places on earth when he kicked them out of the garden, so they spent their time crying, praying and walking and found each other in Mecca. And we learned a little more about prayer times.

We ended our day with dinner at a historic and famous kofte place (Sultan Ahmet Koftecisi), which was definitely a much needed rest after pretty much 5 hours on our feet, but which we all agreed hadn’t been the best meal we’ve had in the 2 days here, not that it was in any way bad! Although, we tried the deserts there, they were a little lacking, so we ended up at the dessert place a couple doors down which had some amazing Baklava and Turkish delight in the window to try “Sticky ice cream.” We tried both types, beaten and cut. And had a few pieces of pistachio baklava and Turkish tea with it.

We headed home using public transit, but then switched to a Taxi for the rest of the way. Getting home every night we are sweaty messes (plus some jetlag) so the last couple of hours are showering, making phone calls to the US and getting ready for bed. As a PS, throughout this day a TON of bug bites started showing up all along my arms (this is who I am… they just love me). I was going back and forth between whether they were mosquito or bed bug bites because mine are just lines up both my arms (which was like a pattern). In the end it was 2 hungry mosquitos who we killed when we got home.
