Jazz joins the Suicide Squad to save Danny

So! Danny got caught by the GIW. And it was Public too.

Jazz can see absolutely no way to save Danny. The GIW Base is heavily fortified, she has no help aside from Tucker and Sam, and public opinion is against Ghosts, so nobody would want to help her protest his Capture. Maybe a few teenagers from the high school, but absolutely none of the adults would help.

So she does the one thing she can. She contacts Amanda Waller.

Waller had previously approached her Parents about buying some of their tech off them, for her "Specializes Task Force" to use in case they ever came up against a Ghost.

From the short interaction Jazz had with Waller, she knew one thing.

That Woman would do ANYTHING, to protect the Government she worked for.

All Jazz needed to do, was offer her something that outweighed the value of capturing Danny. Information. The Infinite Realms, the True Biology of Ghosts, the Psychology of Ghosts, the Power Structure of the Realms, and so much more. Waller needed to know everything she could about the Realms to feel secure, to feel like her Country was safe. She needed Information.

And Jazz had that in spades.

As the daughter of the Leaders on Ectology, and a friend to multiple Saptient Ghosts, including the Kings and Queens of various Realms, she was uniquely qualified to provide all this information.

And Waller was impressed. But she still felt like she needed a little more, and seeing as Jazz was a highly trained Martial Artist due to her Mom, and had been taught enough about mechanical engineering by her Dad to constitute a Major in in, she saw potential.

She saw a Pawn. Perfect for placement on Task Force X. Her Suicide Squad had been missing an extra member recently, and Jazz was the perfect fit.

So they made a Deal.

Danny Fenton, also known as The Phantom, would he released from Government Detainment, alongside any other Sentient/Sapient Ghost in their possession. They would he protected from further Detainment until further Notice, and the Town of Amity Park would be left alone by the GIW Indefinitely.

In return, Jazzmine Fenton would be hired on as Amanda Wallers On-Call Consultant for anything related to Ghosts and the Realms. Additionally, she would be employed as a Part Time Member of Task Force X, answering the call of Duty whenever is is directed as her, No Questions Asked. (Or the deal would be null and void)

But she would Endure it. Because she and Waller had one thing in common.

She would do Anything, to protect her little brother.

Chloe is the worst character written in the show, along with Lila The Plot Device, Adrien The Lack of Importance Main Character, Marinette The Wasted Potential, Emilie The We-Know-Next-To-Nothing-About-Her-For-5-Seasons, and Gabriel The Dumbest Villain To Ever Exist (except that one time in Heroes’ Days special). The writers made her evil, then make us sympathize for her, then make her so vile she’s practically not even a human.

This short fic here is my way to keep her being as evil as she is, but give her a reason why she’s becoming even worse than before.

Chloe is many things, except dumb. Sure, she admits, there were times where she’s so dense with obvious facts and her grades are above average literally because of Sabrina. But, socially, she’s practically a genius. She’s aware of how people perceive her. She’s aware of how much people hate her, so much that she can feels it on her skin.

She always told herself, “People are jealous because you have the power while they don’t”, “That’s just how common people sees those with power”, “They’re losers who can do nothing but envying those above them”.

Reasons after reasons she told to herself, more than half of them that she actually believed. So she has no reason to actually care about their feelings, no reason at all. Because that’s what she knows. That’s what she’s been taught by her mother: If you have power, put people who don’t have it in their place. That’s all she ever knew.

So, she put people in their place. She made their life suffer. She made them serve her. She made them fear her.

Being mean is power. Fear is power. More power means she’s exceptional. Being exceptional means her mother will approve her as her daughter. That’s all she knew.

Until one day, she no longer knew anything.

Ever since Heroes' Day, she’s been having conflict with herself. She found it exhilarating to be helpful. She felt joy to protect people. She was proud of herself, in a way that she never felt before. That was the moment she realized how it feels to be kind. To be not mean. To have power and use it not for her own personal gain (well, half of it).

These new feelings felt great. She wanted to do more of it. But she knew she cannot do that as her civilians identity. She knew she can only do that when she’s Queen Bee. And she knew she can never be her ever again, since her identity was exposed, by herself.

Anyone would say, “Oh, just do it then. People will love it”. Yes, people will love it. But the one person she wanted to impress will never love it.

Audrey Bourgeois sees kindness as something the lower class do because they don’t have the power to make other people do things for them. She sees it as weakness, as something ordinary. Something unexceptional. Chloe cannot let herself be unexceptional.

It’s killing her inside. After finding out a new feeling that made her feel like someone new, someone better, she had to choose between being that new person or to impress her mother.

She remembered all the vile things she had done, especially to that baker girl. She remembered why exactly she hated her. Indeed, it was because she’s just a baker girl and it’s not that hard to make her suffer. But more than that, she knew she did it all out of jealousy.

Chloe was jealous by how easy it was for that baker girl to receive her parents’ love. How easy it was to love them, and to be loved back. That baker girl never had to work so hard to receive love. Not the kind of love where your father buys you everything, but the pure and kind and gentle love.

Chloe dreamed about it, just enough to sometimes wake her up at night with bitter reality greeted her. How it would feel to be loved unconditionally. How it would feel to be able to be kind because you’re able to. That sweet dream slowly turned into her nightmare.

None of that will ever happen. That beautiful dream will forever stays a dream. It will appears in her sleep, but never in her reality. She had to accept that, and live with the bitter and violent reality that she’s facing.

So, she made her choice. She chose to be mean. She chose to have people hate her. She chose to be worse than ever before, even if that means losing her childhood friend.

Everything, for that approval.

Everything, for that love.

Everything, to be exceptional.

According to NBC here in the US, the missing titanic sub has been found. As debris. Off the bow of the Titanic wreckage.

And it looks like the sub suffered what we all suspected, and what was undoubtedly the more merciful of the two options: a catastrophic implosion from the pressure.

Also, more info has come to light about the fishing trawler with the hundreds of migrants that sank cataclysmically off the coast of Greece, indicating that the greek coast guard knew about the vessel AND how much trouble the vessel was in, and were towing it at a speed that made it capsize, at which point they unhooked the tow line and watched the trawler sink without helping the passengers to safety. Despite a bunch of other ships trying to help as well throughout the whole ordeal.

So a lot of people are dead, all because of regulations (and the lack thereof) regarding sea-faring vessels and rescue protocols. People shouldnt be allowed to make a business charging a ton of money for a ride on an uncertified, unsafe, un-seaworthy ship going deep into the ocean with no distress beacon or tether to the mothership. People also shouldnt be allowed to enact laws that criminalize the ferrying of refugees, which then force the refugees to hitch rides on fishing trawlers, and which also prevent people from helping those fishing trawlers full of refugees due to fear of legal consequences.

Hopefully BOTH of these events spark changes on an international scale in terms of what is legally allowed to be sailed, who is legally allowed to be the passengers, and what the rescue protocols are in the event of disaster for any seafaring vessel, illegal or not. It shouldnt be just the global 1% who get 24/7 search parties and remote-operated submersibles helping rescue them.

Imagine Annabeth and Percy have a kid early, unplanned and it kinda fucks with their finances so Percy drops out of school to get a job so he can care for the kid and support Annabeth in school. At first he gets a job teaching kids sword fighting but then he hears about underwater welding which pays well because it’s dangerous but Percy is a child of the sea so it’s much less so for him. His boss is even willing to give him flexible hours which means Annabeth doesn’t have to take their kid to class anymore and they can actually afford daycare (why does is it the price of a mortgage nowadays???). A huge financial burden is lifted and Percy doesn’t mind the work so it’s good all the way around.

Fast forward to when Annabeth is done her masters in architecture and lands a job at a top firm. They’ve got savings and have Annabeth’s income to rely on. Percy heads back to school and finishes a degree in marine biology, going on to research some really niche topics like how underwater welding impacts the environment and shifting from there until he’s a well known expert in the field.

Just them finding their way. Supporting each other and landing on their feet no matter what

Escaped clone au

You know all those fics where Danny and Damian are twins but everyone first assumes Danny must be a clone? How about an au where Danny is Damian's clone who escaped the League after he was assumed dead. Damian could even have been the one to have "killed" him, back when Danny was a newly created, fully brainwashed clone minion and trying to kill Damian himself.

Danny gets adopted by the Fentons and canon goes on as normal, until Dan. Witnessing what would happen to the world should he turn evil really drove home to Danny how dangerous he is.

Even if he was confident he could be trusted with his absurd amount of power (which he isn't), what if the League of Assassins found out about him? Does he still have programming triggers from his evil assassin clone conditioning?

So, Danny does the responsible thing: he goes to Batman to turn himself in.

Cue Danny showing up on Bruce's doorstep with ghost hunting equipment, intel on the afterlife, and an almost unbelievable backstory. Somehow he still managed to be more well-adjusted than Damian.

Here's how I'm thinking Danny leaving the League went down:

After surviving his wounds but failing his mission, Danny (then an unnamed potential Damian replacement) knew there was no point in returning to the League. As a failure, he was meant to be disposed of. He even thought of simply allowing himself to perish, since that was what the League would do.

But he couldn't help but feel as though that would be a waste of a resource. Surely he could be of more use to the League alive than dead?

That tiny bit of rebellious logic is what caused Danny to go into hiding, only living on based on the off chance he would find opportunities to further the League's goals. Obviously, that mentality didn't last long after being exposed to the real world and meeting one Jazz Fenton.

Being adopted by the Fentons was the best cover Danny could have asked for, since any odd behavior he couldn't hide while he was learning how to be "normal" was totally overshadowed by the sheer bizarre eccentricity of his new parents. He was still the neighborhood weird kid, but even that was a major upgrade from disposable tool, so Danny considered it a win.

Imagine you fall in love with a god. His eyes always peer at you through your son and for his safety you give up everything. EVERYTHING. your dreams. your safety. your relationship. your potential. your love. you tolerate a horrid HORRID man and his addiction and his abuse and the pain...for him...your son. the one who smiles like the sun and has the eyes of the ocean.

AND THEN everything you have kept him away from, comes rushing for him at the bloody doorstep and not only do you have to let him go to his father's world, you also have to leave him not knowing if he'd actually stay safe...

THIS is why i loved that detail in the books that Sally was against sending Percy to camp...because she had given up everything for him. Despite all her strength and motherly love you have to admit there was also a co-dependency between them. Only she could keep Percy safe and Percy could only trust her because he was a 'problematic child'. They loved each other but it was bound by desperation too...

While the show could not express it in the detailed way the books did I still love how that tension was so palpable. Especially when she was struggling and stood in the rain listening to music...because not only does the water soothe... it hides away the tears too.
