Thoughts on Kuzukoma (Nagito x Fuyuhiko) and Komazumi (Nagito x Mahiru)? I just really love Nagito ships that pair him with a stern-but-caring tsundere that knows when to call him out, but will also provide positive reinforcement.
Mahiru and Nagito reminds me of one of my favourite (however, platonic) dr comics. So I do enjoy the idea of them, as Mahiru would be one of the few people that could keep Nagito in line. As after a while she may be able to pick up on his suspicious behaviour.
Tumblr media
Not to meantion the two of them together would probably help keep others in line, from preventing Teruteru's uhhhh... behaviours, to telling Kaz to clean up.
Tumblr media
While Nagito is a bit fickle, at least he's dependable in taking care of others. So he would probably tidy up for Mahiru, which she would like.
Tumblr media
Fuyuhiko and Nagito I haven't thought about as much, but I imagine he would be more agressive in how he cares about Nagito. Like constantly checking in on him, and ensuring he is taking care of himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not to meantion Fuyuhiko trying to teach Nagito to put himself first once in a while, since we all know Fuyuhiko's stance on people that don't think much about themselves.

Secret Life finale highlights for me:
- "My strategy: Kill Skizz and Tango. Will happen at some point... Or, just maim them and watch them die in a corner." - Scar
- Scott on Grian's loyalty: "I have never seen a man drop a pair of sunglasses faster in my life [than last season after Joel died]."
- I think I reblogged someone's speculation weeks ago that at the dawn of final session, everyone's task book would just say "Win Secret Life." Congrats to them for Apollo's gift of prophecy.
- Martyn's beat of pause before saying to Joel "Welcome to the Out of Context video."
- At the start of the season, Etho said Joel was the first one he wanted to kill because "He's cheeky." When Joel is asked who he wants to kill, he says "Etho." Glad you're enjoying your rivalry, boys, smh...
- Joel, once again giving into his Shrek origins, watching Bdubs' wool globe go up in flames and chirping "My world's on fire; how 'bout yours?"
- Tango does not break his "pathetic death" curse. Just blipped out of existence. Love that for him.
- Spitting, crying... BigB panics and flees into his creepy backrooms for safety. Immediately vanishes into the tunnel maze. Scar pursues and skids to a halt because he hasn't seen it yet and is thoroughly creeped out.
- Scar coming up to surface and trying to describe how BigB disappeared. Martyn looks down at where they're standing and is just like "Oh, that's the backrooms." Mental image of Scar as that meme that goes "The. what."
- Scar describing BigB as a sneaky squirrel. "Squirrel" was the name of BigB's horse in Double Life.
- Joel's anxiety about entering a Nether portal on the final episode, specifically because of how he and Etho perma-died in Double Life
- Whatever was going on with Martyn flinging ender pearls up the ladder seconds before he died
- Additionally, people in the background commenting that they think Martyn's teamed up with Cleo and the only reason he was near them was an attempt to bear down and kill them
- Scar to Bdubs, watching Cleo and Etho from a distance: "Look at this- Mom and Dad are bringing their new ugly stepson to meet us, Bdubs." /camera pans to the warden chasing them
- Bdubs tells Scar that Cleo said he was her favorite son and Scar IMMEDIATELY, without responding or even waiting for Bdubs to finish his sentence, jumps a wall and books it to Cleo to confirm... Mental image of him swinging dramatically over it with one hand, his shawl billowing behind him
- Scar chases Cleo while they're both being pursued by a warden, asking her if he's her favorite son. Doesn't let up until she assures him she "just said it to keep Bdubs happy." what is wrong with the Clocker family.
- Joel somehow pulled off a beautiful PVP kill on Skizz despite having only 2.5 hearts
- In earlier episodes, Joel had people say "The florist sends his regards" on his behalf before striking. Before killing Skizz, he says "Scar sends his regards" since Scar really wanted to kill Skizz but bequeathed the fight to Joel instead.
- Scar trotting up to Etho and Cleo, who are watching him from a cliff, and announcing "I am not up to anything nefarious!"
- Scar's weird spiky wall design is really pretty
- slkdjfskldjfsklj?!?!?!? I had a bullet point on this list that said "Honorable non-finale mention to Scar getting both the Green and Yellow kill on Etho this season" but now I see I need to correct that:
- Shout-out to Scar killing Etho - in Etho's front yard - THREE TIMES this season. Etho rushing back to his base, tripping over his feet and saying "I'm going home, everybody- I'm dying at my home-"
- Scott to Scar: "I went down to BigB - to get him - and I see what you mean; he does just talk his way out of things so you feel bad; you just leave him." / Scar: "That's why you don't let him speak. You just inner monologue. You start talking about Star Wars so you can't hear his charms."
- As Scar drives his sword into Cleo, he says "Good-bye, Mom- This is for you telling Bdubs [he's your] favorite." Geez, dude. Scar killed both his parents; this family is a mess. Bonus points for Joel fumbling in the background like "Oh my gosh- Scar, you savage-"
- I watched multiple POVs until I was caught up to the standoff between Gem & The Scotts vs. The Mounders... So picking up from there with Scar's POV b/c his is the one I randomly started with today: I love how Joel basically went "I am once again throwing caution to the wind and charging into battle with a murderous Red rage in my eyes and no one behind me" like he ALWAYS does.
- Bdubs and Scar decide to back him up... Amazing.
- Scar has gotten 4 kills (Tango, Etho, Cleo, Impulse) and he was super close to getting BigB as well before Scott sniped the kill. Geez... The man is vicious today. During Limited Life, Grian made a comment that went something like "Of course Scar is only destructive / successful when I'm not on his team" and honestly? Yeah...
- Pearl begging Scar to kill her- Pearl warning Scar that if she perma-kills Gem, she'll go up 10 hearts- Scar refusing, insisting that he doesn't want to turn on her because it feels lame...
- Scar got Gem, he got Gem... GeminiSlay is DOWN!
- SCAR SWEEP WITH THE BOW!!
Oh my goodness, I saw his episode title ("Can Villain Scar Win?") and the words that went through my head were "Welp, that's a spoiler that he's dead." I see I was wrong.
GG, SCAR WIN!!! Man who wanted so desperately to have friends, only to trip and fail time and time again... GoodTimesWithVictor!!
My heart, Scar letting that zombie knock him down to half a heart... playing up like he didn't just watch the lightning bolt mark Pearl's demise. He wanders, calling out to Pearl, asking where she went... quietly giggling and muttering to himself as that zombie pushes at him... GG, Scar. GG.
My goodness, is this the only time we haven't seen the winner die in their perspective? Scar slams that success button for winning the game, gets 5 hearts, turns back, and that's it... That's the game. End scene.
What a LAD!!

Okay so Gem throughout Secret Life (and also the one episode in Limited Life) has been so fascinating for several reasons. (hello i'm back, yes this is the brain rotates the gem post, welcome.)
so first off everyone is fairly Aware of her pvp prowess, GeminiSlay is a name they know. So for the most part, no one tries to fight her. She's brought down by fighting blazes & an enderman, the red horde going after everyone (them fighting back) and eventually Scar's bow, and then by and large Grian's tnt minecarts before Pearl and Scar together kill her in a 2 v 1 fight (that for the 1st part mostly-ish bows, something she isn't quite as good at). People talk about how they don't want to fight Gem. Not unless they have to.
This affords her a level of safety. If they're scared of fighting you, they don't go after you.
And then she's the New person. She's the only New Person. She's cheery and happy even as she goes on her murdering sprees. Even Lizzie and Mumbo, not back since Last Life, have a different edge to them and then they're out so quickly they don't reach the line where the server goes into murder and betrayal. Cleo says it in the last session: Gem doesn't know what is about to happen.
And she doesn't. Not in the way everyone else does. It is a murder game, and Gem treats it as such, but she doesn't get the weight of what happens in those last sessions.
She loses her first life and is mildly bloodthirsty, she opens the end, sends in greens in hopes of getting more yellows, she gets a task that says kill every non red at least once and does so without hesitance, she turns red, succeeds 5 red tasks in her next episode and gets her two teammates to sacrifice themselves to her along with killing Pearl, and she smiles throughout the entire thing.
When the last session starts she's happy, ready to go out and murder some more people, and sure it's a bit "erie" and "quiet", but she's having a great time on the murder camel, looking for Skizz, figuring out how they can kill Etho/Cleo/Grian.
The other players Know what's about to happen, and she doesn't. Scott stays with her almost the entire episode. He knows what's going to happen. He already decided how he's going to die.
And then they come back from the Nether and Gem loses about 30 of her hearts, she panics slightly and a bit more when she finds Grian behind a wall (alone and down a bunch of hearts her first thought is run), but she goes back to the fight, kills Grian herself, and, oh, it's only them and the mounders left, time for the last battle apparently. She tries getting her murder buddy on their side again but Pearl refuses and it's not like she's leaving the Scotts, so they shoot arrows and run around the server a bit before retreating up the stairs back to their base. Pearl shoots her, Impulse dies, and Gem is starting to think they are going to as well (it's fine, that's what the game's about), but Bdubs and Joel are killed pretty easily and then she and Scott are running again (run, shoot, run again, why'd it have to be a bow fight?), there's a close call with Scar (it's fine, she gets away, where's Scott though?).
But I don't think she really gets it yet. Not until she joins back up with Scott and the first thing he says is "I need you to kill me. I've got 2.5 hearts, you need to kill me." And Scott throws items at her, food and an end crystal, and takes off his armour and Pearl and Scar aren't far behind...
Gem doesn't even get time to process. Pearl and Scar weren't far behind. She runs and fights and holds her own even in a 2v1, but it doesn't matter.
Gem is the new person. And she makes it all the way to 3rd, she's proud of that, should be proud of that. But she only thought of it as a fun murder game right up until Scott died. Sacrificed himself for her.

Say my name
Part one of the Crosshair x you Series
Wordcount: 2.5 k
Rating: Explicit
Summary:
You work alongside Rex‘s team on their base on Teth to help them locate Tantiss, when Clone Force 99 arrives you can‘t take your eyes off their sharpshooter Crosshair. And when Rex asks you to question Crosshair about Tantiss and you two are left alone things get spicy.
Notes:
This started as a quickfire one shot taking place in Episode 6/7 of the BB season 3 I had to write after watching. It‘s doesn’t deviate from canon besides you are there. Fingering, blowjob, unprotected sex, season 3 made me fall for Crosshair, send help
—————————————-
The ancient stone walls of the monastery on Teth echo with the whispers of rebellion, a haven for those who dare to defy the grip of the Empire. In the heart of this bastion Rex has gather his allies and made a temporary commando central where you operate from. You got to know Howzer during the uprising on your home planet Ryloth and after he deserted you decided to join him and his brother in their fight for freedom. For the last weeks, you had stood by Captain Rex's side, aiding him in his quest to dismantle the Empire's grip on the galaxy and trying to locate Tantiss, an imperial base of which you knew little more than the name and that clones were held captive there. In the dimly lit commando room, you hunch over a datapad, the glow of the screen casting eerie shadows across your face. Your fingers fly across the keypad, deciphering the encrypted data from a device confiscated from an imperial assassin clone. The tension in the room is palpable as you wrestle with the complex encryption, each passing moment hopefully bringing you closer to unlocking the coordinates within.
Captain Rex's footsteps echo in the silence as he enters the room, his presence gentle yet commanding attention. "Any progress?" he asks, his voice betraying a hint of anxiety.
You look up from your work, exhaustion etched into your features. "I don’t know if we’re going to get anything out of it, Rex. But I haven’t given up hope yet" you reply, your voice tinged with determination.
Rex nods, his expression understanding. "Alright, I'll let you work. Just wanted to give you a heads up—Clone Force 99 will be here soon. One of their own was on the target list of that assassin. I figured you might want to talk to them. Two of them escaped Tantiss, maybe they have some bits of information that will help" he informs you, his words carrying a weighty significance.
Moments later, the distinct sound of a shuttle's engines fills the air, signaling the arrival of the legendary Bad Batch. As the door slides open, you can’t help but feel a surge of excitement mingled with trepidation. These were no ordinary clones; they were living legends, heroes of the republic turned renegades.
"Hey, Rex!" greets Hunter, the leader of the Bad Batch, with a nod of acknowledgment. Wrecker, the tallest, follows behind him, their presence exuding an aura of strength and camaraderie. And then there was Crosshair, his piercing gaze scanning the room with an intensity that sends shivers down your spine. Beside him stands Omega with her hound, the young girl who had captured the hearts of the Bad Batch with her unwavering courage. You try to maintain your composure as you greet them, but the sight of Crosshair makes you tingle. He nods in acknowledgment, his gaze lingering on you for a moment longer than necessary.
As the group settled in, you find yourself stealing glances at Crosshair, unable to tear your gaze away from the enigmatic sharpshooter. There is something magnetic about him, a silent allure that draws you in despite your best efforts to resist. Over a simple meal of spicy stew, the conversation flows freely, filled with tales of daring escapades and narrow escapes. You listen intently, hanging on every word as the Bad Batch regaled you with stories of their adventures. But amidst the laughter and camaraderie, there is an underlying tension, a sense of unease that hangs heavy in the air.
After the meal, Captain Rex suggest that you have a conversation with Crosshair to glean any additional information about the Empire's base on Tantiss while he takes the rest of the batch to the captured assassin. You feel a flush of heat rise to your cheeks at the suggestion, but you nod in agreement, your pulse quickening with anticipation.
You lead Crosshair to a secluded chamber in the upper floor, you usually come here if you need a quiet moment to think and you find solace in its simplicity and the view over the jungle surrounding the fortress. You sit cross-legged on the floor amidst a sea of scattered pillows and you motion for him to join you. His presence is a potent mix of strength and arrogance, a contradiction that both intrigues and unnerves you. "So, what do you know about Tantiss?" you ask, intimated by his presence, your voice barely above a whisper. Crosshair's gaze meets yours, his expression unreadable. "More than I care to remember," he replies, „but nothing that will help you I’m afraid“ ,his voice tinged with bitterness. "The experiments they conducted there...they were beyond anything I could have imagined."
As he continues to speak and tell you all he knew, you can’t help but notice the tremor in his right hand, a subtle reminder of the horrors he had endured. Without thinking, you reach out to touch his hand, offering a silent gesture of comfort. But you quickly draw your hand back and apologize, you clearly overstepped his boundaries.
The tension between you is palpable and for a moment, neither of you speak, lost in the tangled web of emotions that envelope you. And then, without warning, Crosshair leans in, his lips capturing yours in a searing kiss. It is a collision of passion and longing, a desperate plea for solace amidst the chaos of war. As the kiss deepens, you feel a wave of desire washing over you, igniting a firestorm of longing within. In that moment, all thoughts of duty and honor fade away, leaving only the two of you, bound together by a shared desire for redemption and salvation.
Crosshair's lips collide with yours again, igniting a wildfire of desire as he draws you closer, closing the space between you completely. His kisses hungrily trail down your neck, each one sending sparks of ecstasy coursing through your veins. As his hands explore your body, you feel a surge of anticipation building within you. Before he removes your shirt, his eyes seek yours, silently asking for permission. You respond with a nod, your lip caught between your teeth in anticipation.
Your top vanishes under his touch, revealing your bare skin to his hungry gaze. Crosshair's lips find your breasts, kissing and biting gently, sending waves of pleasure rippling through you. You reach for his armor, but he gently pushes you back, a silent command for you to yield to his control. He bends down to kiss you, his hand slipping into your trousers, finding you already wet and ready for him. Surprised by your lack of panties, he slides into your folds, eliciting a moan of pleasure from your lips and with a hunger in his eyes, he pulls down your trousers, his gaze fixated hungrily on your exposed body. Seated against the wall, your back pressed against the cool surface, Crosshair hovers over you, his lips trailing kisses along your neck. His fingers find your clit, rubbing it in slow, deliberate circles as he slowly slides two fingers into you. You moan with pleasure as he explores your depths, his touch sending waves of ecstasy coursing through your body. "Tell me what you want me to say," you whisper, your voice dripping with desire. "Say my name," he commands, sliding another finger into you. And as you moan his name, your climax already looms dangerously close, the tension building with every passing moment. "Come for me, baby," he murmurs, his grip tightening as he drives you over the edge. With his permission, you tip over into ecstasy, crying out his name as pleasure washes over you. Crosshair watches you with a smirk of satisfaction, enjoying the sight of you unraveling before him. "Such a good girl," he says, slowly pulling his fingers out of your wetness and licking them clean, savoring your taste.
As your orgasm subsides, you gently push him onto his back, whispering, "Please let me take care of you." and you begin to remove his armor, piece by piece, the sound of clanking metal echoing through the room. With each piece of armor that falls, his resistance weakens a little more, and as he finally gives in, his desire for you grows stronger with every passing moment. You want to give this man all the love and attention he deserves. Your arousal grows stronger with every piece you remove until he is down to his blacks and you can see the bulge that has already formed, his cock already so hard for you. When you finally remove the last piece of fabric you shiver. His cock already glancing with precum is so hard and so big, you already feel your pussy tingling again still sensitive from your first orgasm. You take a moment to admire him, his lean toned body is covered with scars but he is so beautiful and you feel proud that he lets you take care of him. With a tender touch, you trail kisses down his body, your fingertips tracing the scars that mark his skin, touching him with softness where he only experienced pain. With each caress, you feel him relax under your touch, his tension melting away in the warmth of your embrace. Leaning in close, you brush your lips teasingly against the tip of his cock, eliciting a sharp intake of breath from Crosshair. With a satisfied grin, you swirl your tongue around the head, savoring the salty taste of his pre-cum. His fingers thread through your hair, urging you onward as you take him deeper into your mouth, your lips stretching to accommodate his impressive girth. You moan around him, the vibrations sending ripples of pleasure coursing through his body. With each bob of your head, you take him further into your mouth, your tongue dancing along his length in a sensual dance of passion. His grip on your hair tightens, his hips rocking rhythmically against your movements as he seeks release. Your tongue swirling around him as you tease him to the brink of ecstasy. You feel him growing harder beneath your touch, his desire for release building with every passing moment. A low growl escapes his lips, a primal sound of desire that sends a shiver down your spine. But you want to prolong his pleasure, to savor every moment of this intimate connection and with a sultry smile, you straddle him, rubbing your wet pussy against his cock, feeling him throb with anticipation. "Tell me what you want," you whisper, your voice husky with desire. "Fuck me," he groans, his voice thick with need. "Fuck me like there's no tomorrow." and with a slow, deliberate motion, you slide onto his cock, feeling him fill you completely. You moan his name as you begin to move, the pleasure building with every thrust. The sensation of being stretched around him is exquisite, every inch of him pushing you closer to the edge of ecstasy. You rock your hips against his, setting a rhythm that drives you both wild with desire. Crosshair's hands grip your hips tightly, guiding your movements as you ride him like there’s no tomorrow. Each thrust sends shockwaves of pleasure coursing through your body, igniting a fire deep within your core. You lean forward, capturing his lips in a passionate kiss as you grind against him, the heat between you building with every thrust. His tongue dances with yours, exploring every inch of your mouth as if he's trying to memorize the taste of you. With a loud groan, he finds release, his warm cum filling you as you cry out his name in ecstasy. This was all you needed to tip you over the edge again and your orgasm washes over you once again. You sink down onto him and nestle your head into his neck, whispering his name softly. "Crosshair," you murmur, your voice filled with tenderness, content that you could give him some moments of ease.
As you both slowly come down from your climax, your fingertips trace over Crosshair's body “Whenever you need some ease, you know where to find m..” you whisper but before you can finish your sentence, a loud boom echoes through the room, shattering the tranquility. An explosion rocks the forecourt, and in an instant, Crosshair springs to his feet, pulling you close to him protectively. "Stay behind me," he commands, urgency lacing his tone as you both hastily dress. His movements are swift and efficient, his hands deftly securing his armor with practiced precision. You reach out to help him, but he's already finished, his skilled hands working with lightning speed. The comm in his helmet crackles to life, and you hear Hunter's voice, frantic with worry, asking about your safety. "Where are you, Cross? Are you safe? Is... the girl still with you?" Hunter's voice crackles over the comm, and in the background, you can hear Rex calling out your name to Hunter. Crosshair's response is swift and assured. "Yes, she's here. We're okay," he assures Hunter, his voice steady despite the chaos unfolding around you. "Our location has been compromised. We need to get out. Meet us in the back room she can lead you there. Rex has another way out." "Understood," Crosshair answers over the comm, and then the line goes silent. He turns to you, his eyes a mixture of determination and concern. "Listen, you have to follow my command now," he demands, his voice firm. "Stay close to me, no arguments. I won’t let anything happen to you. I'll get you out safe if you show me the way" he adds, a hint of affection in his tone. You nod in agreement as he reaches for the door, his hand trembling slightly. With a deep breath, he pushes it open, ready to face whatever lies beyond.
You and Crosshair navigate through the chaos of the main hall, debris and panicked voices filling the air. Crosshair keeps a protective arm around you, his protective presence a comforting anchor amidst the turmoil. Together, you manage to slip into the back room, your heart pounding with every step. Crosshair's keen eyes scan the surroundings, ensuring your safety before allowing himself a moment's respite. "You did good," he murmurs, his voice low but filled with gratitude. His brothers, along with Rex and a few others, are already gathered in the room, their expressions a mix of tension and relief at your arrival. Rex wastes no time, swiftly pushing aside a stack of crates to reveal another exit, a contingency plan for situations exactly like this. As you begin to move toward the newly revealed exit, Crosshair remains steadfast at your side, his protective instincts kicking into overdrive. Wrecker, unable to resist the opportunity for a bit of levity amidst the chaos, can't help but interject with a teasing remark. "You seemed to have a good talk, CROSSHAIR, heh?" Wrecker jests to his brother, a mischievous tone in his voice. You blush but Crosshair's response is swift and sharp, his tone laced with a hint of annoyance. "Jealous?" he snarls, his words clipped as he protectively guides you towards the emergency shuttle stationed further down the stairs and as you make your way down you feel his warm cum oozing from your still sensitive pussy leaving a sticky trail in your trousers.

So, a while ago I thought about making a character design for Scar, because I want to get better at drawing. That made me think "hey, I wonder how many scars Scar would actually have".
So I've gone through all his hardcore series and made a list.
So, baseline premise of this list: if an attack does at least 3.5 hearts of damage it was added to the list. This damage only counts on Hardcore mode or on red life of the life series, because in my mind when you respawn it clears any injuries that you got from after you set your spawn, like a check point. So, injuries from non-hardcore series don't count, and green and yellow life injuries don't count.
Injuries that happen close enough together that the game adds up the hearts together (for example, two arrow shots that happen close enough together where the heart lost flashing adds both of them together) gets counted as one injury for the purposes of the list.
There are two exceptions for this:
In The Crafting Dead the mod that he uses has a bleeding effect that happens sometimes after 2.5 hearts I think? I included all of that. This same mod has a leg breaking effect that's based off of distance fallen and that counts too.
Injuries that cause final deaths always count, no matter how many hearts they cause.
What is included in the list:
The order of the injuries gained (chronological from when the series happen)
The series where the injury was gained
The episode
Timestamp
Who caused the injury
What caused the injury (like weapon)
How many hearts were lost
Location of injury (usually things like "left side" because it's difficult to be specific)
Angle of the attack (if it happened below, above, or at the same level of him)
Armor/Clothes
Notes
My headcanons but that's for me
Series that are included on this list:
Scar Goes Hardcore (this series didn't actually make the list, as far as I can tell he doesn't get an injury that would make the list. He doesn't even die, he just stops playing this series as far as I can tell? But I did watch all fifteen episodes)
The Crafting Dead
Third Life
Last Life
100 Hour Hardcore
Double Life
Limited Life
This is an ongoing list so as Scar does more hardcore stuff it'll be added. I did my best with this, so let me know if I've made any mistakes so I can correct them!

speaking of things that were brought up in the show once and then never spoken of again, im honestly astounded that the revelation that luther was sending letters to mac and dennis was destroying them has seemingly had no impact on the characters beyond tggth. ik the fans probably discussed it more when the episode came out (which i wasnt there for) but its such a huge reveal like…mac who is ignored by his father 99% of the time was actually receiving letters from him and both of his best friends knew and didnt say anything. id love to see that revisited.
Tbh I think that one’s definitely a dead and buried event as spoken between Mac and Dennis, but I definitely wouldn’t say it’s had no further impact on the characters.
Mac’s internal struggle with his dad loving him certainly continued, and from what I see, it was pretty heavily built off the basis of Dennis destroying the letters:
Mac’s ‘PTSD’ nightmares are between him killing his father, just as he hopes he’ll say he loves him, and Dennis making a move on him, finally returning physical affection. I’d say that’s a good idea of how Mac processed/was processing what Dennis did. Mac’s mind seemed to be rationalising that he would kill his father by his own hands if he had access to him. Dennis physically destroyed the possibility, ‘proving he loved Mac’ (and further in Mac’s mind, Luther would kill Mac, given the opportunity).
But then, Mac does ‘kill’ [his relationship with] his father by his own hands when he comes out to him. His father doesn’t want Mac’s true self, and won’t listen. So when Mac does have a way to express himself in return, it hurts him. (Again, further affirming himself that Dennis cut off a potential relationship to protect him).
Now what’s really interesting is that they chose to go with letters again, in connection with Mac’s father, they further cast GSC to play his Uncle, made him gay, and weaved the idea of Mac having kids into the play. Isn’t that just all, a lot to chew on…
Honestly it’s hard for me to properly space it out, so I hope the following makes sense (and I am responding to this while on NYC transit, but what better place to dump my brain out):
I think the letters from Luther to Mac being destroyed by Dennis was a solid base they continue to build around through now. I mean, it’s certainly no coincidence that they decided on letters to be his family legacy, letters his mother destroyed before Mac could read. And then it can’t be a coincidence that the last time Mac spoke to his father, the first time he spoke to him since he found out about his letters, he expressed he wanted Mac to have children, and now Mac is telling his Uncle who looks like his father that he wants these new (old) letters for his children (alongside the theme of ignoring a shared sexuality). That’s not a coincidence, I really hope it’s not.
So I think it remains unsaid between the characters for a few reasons. 1. The confessions from TGGTH went down with the ship for all of them (stuff it down with some brown, bury it under the booth, kick it under the kegs). 2. Mac sees it as a twisted act of love from Dennis, so why teeter with that? 3. It’s a base plot device they continue to build off of for now that, maybe, eventually they’ll address, if we ever work back around to another Mac finale (We can see a theme of things being unburied… Or they’ll just let the insane analysts like me draw dots and connect lines and spout my shit through the rest of time.)
Though those are just my thoughts, certainly RCG will have to talk about it when they get to Seasons 11-13 on the Podcast, so that’s something to look forward to in 2.5-3 years!

Fixing TUE Part 2.5--How I'd change Dan's story.
This is my take on Dan's narrative as "Danny's evil future self" in my analysis of The Ultimate Enemy. You can find part two here:
(Part 2), Part 2.5, (Part 3)
The episode tried to play the "alternate timeline evil self" straight, but turning Dan into a Danny and Vlad fusion causes it to veer off the "Dan is Danny turned evil" mark and contradict the episode's previous setup.
I'll admit, I got a bit negative in the last post, so it's a good thing this is more about ideas for improvements.
The obvious choice is either: make Dan literally just Danny/Phantom as an adult, turned evil (to play into the original narrative) or keep the fusion aspect and subvert the narrative.
So, while it'd make for a much more straightfoward/correct "villain self" story if Dan really was just if "Danny woke up and chose violence", I think I'd stick with the fusion aspect. Because that leaves so many interesting questions to explore about identity and moral responsibility--and it'd create an interesting twist on the typical "alternative villain self" trope.
Let's say that the new version of the episode follows a similar portrayal of Dan to canon initially--"Dan is Danny's evil future self", "Danny is going to become Dan" (without Clockwork's commentary, since he knows better)--and Danny agonises over it (after he actually makes legitimate moral mistakes in the episode and feels guilty about it, like actively abusing his ghost powers to cheat the CAT).
Then he finds out how Dan was actually created, and it's treated like a plot twist. The final act reveals that Dan is a fusion of two ghost halves, and Danny's not responsible for Dan in the same way he thought he was. Alternate!Phantom is still a part of Dan, but Dan and Danny's dynamic is different now.
In-universe, maybe the reason Dan only identifies as Danny is he didn’t want to remember the truth of his creation, and went into complete denial. The fact that he was born from Danny and Vlad's deep grief/loss/loneliness/emotional pain was too much for him to confront. It was one massive, overwhelming, toxic concoction. So, he decided he’d rather forget it. Since Vlad’s human half was still alive somewhere and could meet him again (reminding him of his fusion nature), his mind could’ve chosen to disconnect from the Plasmius component of his identity.
Instead, he deluded himself into believing that he was just a Danny who turned evil after he lost his loved ones and “purified” himself of his painful human half, since Danny’s identity was the most convenient to appropriate (with his human half being dead,  and all) and the fusion woke up with Danny's logo.
Ironically, he didn’t actually lose his painful emotions. The halfa-splitting sorted deep emotional pain into the two ghost halves—based on the mental states/desires of the halfas when the separations occurred (eg., Danny’s desire to remove his pain). Rather than “ridding himself of emotions”, he became that negativity/pain incarnate, and it came out in the most destructive and monstrous way possible. After all, anger and wrath can come from a defence/vent for unacknowledged pain.
When Danny learns of Dan's backstory, he has to take a step back to process it all. He knows that Alternate!Vlad's too weak to kill him, even with the Ghost Gauntlets, so he reluctantly trusts his nemesis(...?) and makes a deal--if Vlad knows anything that could be used to stop Dan, give it over to Danny and he can go after Dan himself to undo everything in the past. No fight for the sake of a cutaway gag, here--we get some relationship development (on Danny's end, at least).
Vlad reluctantly agrees (he believes there's no way Danny can win, but he doesn't have much else of a choice--he's backed into a corner, and just thinks "What the hell? I've got nothing...")...and that triggers him to admit what happened ten years ago. Then he gives Danny the Ghost Gauntlets willingly and gets all serious:
"...Daniel?"
"...Yeah?"
"You have to promise me one thing?"
"What do you mean?"
"Just swear it!"
"O-okay, okay! Jeez! I swear. Happy?"
Vlad looks down pensively before his sunken, hollow eyes bury into Danny's with alarming clarity.
"If you fail...NEVER go to me. Leave Amity Park, move to another country, hide in the Ghost Zone...I don't care. Just...stay away from me, at all costs. If I chase you, run. Run like the world depends on it."
For someone who's never seen Vlad want nothing to do with him before...acting more like Danny's response to Vlad's advances in the past...it's bizarre. It prompts him to question what's really going on in Vlad's head in his own timeline, and what if there's something still in him like this?
So Dan's backstory actually affects the plot, and plays a role in the climax of the episode. And even though he doesn't show up in person, we address Vlad's responsibility in Dan's creation and he gets to contibute, willingly and meaningfully--by providing Danny with Dan's backstory (not just the Ghost Gauntlets Danny stole from him in combat).
It could come into play as a psychological weapon, to shatter Dan's denial— “I’m not you, Dan…I CREATED you!”, “You’re not me, you were MY MISTAKE!”, causing Dan to have a third-act breakdown (technically not main!Danny's mistake, since he's not Alternate!Danny, but he's putting it in the words Dan used in order to correct him). Then the Ghostly Wail can finish him off...or maybe he's strong enough that the Ghostly Wail doesn't end him, and it's the shock of the revelation that immobilises him enough for Danny to get him into the thermos.

Chaotic Card 15- Maxxor
Here he is, the leader of the Overworld tribe, Maxxor! this art done by Khary Randolph, Etienne St.Laurent, Maxxor inherited the role from his father, who we haven’t seen in the show. Hopefully retired, but considering Maxxor is a punch first and ask questions later, they probably died in a war. His advisors are the hero Intress, muge Najarin, and the Danian ambassador Raznus. Possibly others too, but these are the confirmed ones in the tv show card lore.
Tumblr media
Stat Spread:
Courage: 90-110
Power:55-75
Wisdom: 70-90
Speed: 40-60
Energy: 55-65
Mugic Counters: 2
Elements:
Fire
Air
Earth
Water
Ability:
Maxxor is able to use his Mugic Counter to heal himself or an ally, just like Donmar. This is very useful, but similar to what I talked about in Laarina’s post, you need to make a decision; Make a team with 8 Mugic Counters, to use this ability? Or pick 2 cards to not use, or ignore this ability? It’s something to consider.
Playstyle:
Maxxor is good, in any deck, Wisdom with Bodal, or a courage based one with Frafdo. You might even have all three front liners in an Earth based deck, with him, Crawsectus, and Maglax. Maybe you even put him in the middle for the support as a healer or to cast Mugic. He is good in many decks...but not great. He has no ability that gives him a damage buff, but a Battlegear could fix that. He’s a jack of all trades, but master of none, and as the series went on, we got better healers who can increase the maximum energy of a creature instead of just healing damage., and better offensive Creatures with high Disciplines and damage buffs like Crawsectus. If you have him, and are playing any of the first 3 sets, he can fill in any space in just about any deck. I’d recommend him over Donmar due to the higher stats, but there is also other Creatures I’d reccomend over Maxxor.
Biography:
Okay, so there’s a lot to go over here! We learn more as the tv show goes on, but Maxxor is the Leader of the Overworld, and willingly goes on one man missions for recon or to re route enemy armies. Preferring to settle things with his fists than his words, he needs his advisors to help him see reason. In the TV show, also called Chaotic, MajorTom is the protagonist of the show, and in his friend group, the one who mainly uses Overworlders. He idolizes Maxxor, and does everything he can to help the Overworld tribe.
Tumblr media
Chaotic only lasted 2.5 seasons, due to a lawsuit that 4Kidz created. They claimed that, they weren’t making enough money for the work they made in creating the tv show. That TC Digital Games, the card producing side owned by Bryan Gannon, (also it was a subsidiary/child company of 4Kidz) was getting too much of a profit. Notably because it was about money, all the cards in production had to be stopped. A lot of store even took cards off the shelves. The online tcg website was down and the show pulled from air. All of this was done because it was about money, so they needed to stop all incoming profit streams before discussing how the profit was split up. Also interestingly, this lawsuit came after 4Kidz lost a lawsuit against Konami, for breaking contract and making dubs in languages other than English.
With Chaotic, 4Kidz did not lose their case; instead, they went bankrupt and bought out, twice. for 10 years. Because of this, the case was closed, with all rights going towards TC Digital and Bryan Gannon, now the sole owner of Chaotic. Most of the episodes (one is gone, and another is only half there) is on a youtube channel called Chaotic and I implore you to watch it.
The show focuses on Tom Majors, getting a code that his friend Kaz tells him to connect to his Chaotic account. It will let you play Chaotic, “for real.” Eventually he does so and finds a VR world called Chaotic, where you can challenge people to drome matches. 7 dromes, which act as simulation rooms; because when your Creature fights the enemy’s, you become those Creatures and duke it out to decide the victory.
On top of all of this, you’re able to travel from the online world to Perim, the land where all the creatures actually live. You can scan Creatures with a Scanner, what is essentially an advanced phone circa 2008, or Battlegear, Mugic, Locations, to then use in future drome matches.

Kamigami no Asobi/ Ludere Deorum (Anime) Critic, opinion, whatever (no major spoiler)
So, I just end to watch this short anime (12 episodes) and I’m like MEH. I don’t care about the game, truly, I give 3 fucks. Is only about the anime.
Tumblr media
The basic plot is “A bunch of gods from different religions have to take classes in a school with a human for a REASON”. And at first, when you see which gods are (Japanese, Greeks, Nordic and Egyptian) you can think: Ok, this will be great! Like, knowing that Greeks, Nordic and Egyptians in some point fight historically between them, the god’s relationships must give a lot of drama and conflict, right???
WELL NO, ZERO. The story now is “Everyone love the human, plot less deep than a paper” ISTG.
Let’s start with the only woman in the series, a girl that’s so annoying that make me want to rip off her hair. Zero personality, she only adds something because the rest of the gods are pretty much teenagers with the mindset of a 10 years old child who seems to never see humans in their lives for more than 5 minutes (which in some point it contradicts it because one of the gods almost marry a human??). Typical lady who can’t stop to cry for legit anything but, somehow save the world and somehow know how help everyone…
The gods are just plain stupid, which, coming from beings hundreds of hundred years old, HOW THE FUCK? The only ones are the two who are like on top the school, Zeus and Thoth (this last one was my main reason to see this anime), who act a little more as millennial old god. One of them literally have the attitude and personality of a toddler…
The only big GOOD APPLAUSE to this anime was make the Egyptian gods (Anubis and Thoth) NOT WHITE and neither with “people of color offensive stereotypes”. Are the same, act the same, as SHOULD, but brown skin color.
But the rest is a little meh. Both are the only different ones, the Japanese gods look just as the Nordic and Greek. Their “god form” is a mix of Sailor Moon style with some vague representation of their characteristics.
Their personality are based on one quote of wikipedia, ignoring the 99% of their original lore, their relationships are also very basic. Half of the screen time are just simping over the girl, trying to see who will keep her as if she was just a prize and not a being with own brain (hello misogyny my old friend) and she is pretty much a toy with no self-love or even the ovaries to speak (she shutters and say “but” all the time).
They also end shirtless or semi naked way too often to be barely 12 episodes long and make me think, whoever made it, was thinking in “I will make a bunch of hot dudes, showing tasty meat, to make the girls see this anime”.
Another issue with the design is that they look pretty similar. Except the change of the hair color and style, they are the damn same, to the point of be hard to identify them at first, even the girl has THAT FACE. Again, only is easy for the Egyptians gods and Zeus. They are all so absurdly THIN like, damn, they have muscles but, you know, to have these muscles, do you have bones below or something? They are eels…
Their conflicts seem so damn deep in some point that make you think “ok, now the drama start!” but no, all is fixed in one chapter as if they put the issue under a rug.
The names are a big “wtf”. The character Melissa is showed as if is going to be important but I still try to figure out why the fuck they made him/her.
Being an old shitty person a side, I can say, even so, they somehow manage to be charming enough to make you get a little sad when the bad shit happens. After all, they are just a bunch of bimbos: no brain, pretty, nice guys.
There are a few plots twist that can make you say “cool”.
Background and scenery are great, night skies were my favorite.
Score: 2.5/5 and 5/10. Is fine if you are bored one day and want to binge a fast show without need to think, but don’t expect too much. And kinda avoid it if you are fan of any of these gods (much less a nerd of their mythology) or you will end spitting foam and cursing in old latin.

THE MANDALORIAN Season 3 Premiere Review (Chapter 17: The Apostate)
Tumblr media
Image via Lucasfilm
Note: there will be minor spoilers ahead for this episode of The Mandalorian.
After two great seasons of the first live-action Star Wars TV show, the lone Mandalorian Din Djarin is back; and after one less-than-stellar spin-off, little Baby Grogu is also back. Before I get into the meat of this review, I have to address my feelings going into this season. I loved the first two seasons of The Mandalorian. It was exactly what I wanted to see from the franchise after Lucasfilm was acquired by Disney over ten years ago, and it was the king of the Star Wars Disney+ shows until last year’s Andor.
Click here for my video reviews for Season 1 and Season 2
The Book of Boba Fett however was an underwhelming mess and acted more like Season 2.5 of The Mandalorian. There were points where it felt like the show was more interested in catching up with Din Djarin after saying goodbye to Grogu and leaving him with Luke Skywalker at the end of Season 2. That whole concept might’ve been enough to cover Season 3 alone. So the decision to have the little one leave Luke to rejoin his Mandalorian father figure in the finale completely devalues that emotional goodbye and left me concerned about what Season 3 would actually be about.
Click here for my video review of The Book of Boba Fett
So jumping back into The Mandalorian proper, Chapter 17 titled The Apostate is probably the weakest of the Mando season premieres. Maybe it’s because of the bad taste that The Book of Boba Fett left me with, but it felt quite underwhelming, though not a bad episode at all.
THE GOOD
One thing that The Book of Boba Fett did reveal during Din Djarin’s time without Grogu was that he was no longer accepted as a Mandalorian by The Armorer after she learned that he removed his helmet in front of the child. This first episode is a good setup for Din’s journey to redeem himself and be admitted back into the creed. There are points however where I did want to grab Din Djarin by the shoulders and tell him that the way of the Mandalore that he believes is not worth it.
Tumblr media
Image via Lucasfilm
Like the Jedi, the Mandalorians can be looked at as an allegory for many religious groups in the real world. However, unlike the Jedi code, the Mandalorian creed is different depending on what certain tribes choose to believe. The Children of the Watch, the tribe that Din Djarin was taken into as a foundling is presented as a radical group that will disavow you as soon as you break their most important rule. Bo-Katan straight-up refers to that group as a cult at the end of the episode when Din asks her to travel with him to Mandalore. She is clearly disenchanted that her group abandoned her after she failed to reclaim the Dark Saber from Moff Giddeon in Season 2 and her attitude at that moment is entirely understandable. Though she committed a lot of sins prior to her debut in The Mandalorian, I found myself siding with Bo-Katan on this issue. I questioned why Din even wants to seek redemption from a group that didn’t even thank him for saving their lives from a giant crocodile monster at the beginning of the episode. Knowing that Bo-Katan will play an important role in this season, (based on Katee Sackhoff’s credit as a starring role and not a co-starring role) it’ll be interesting to see how these two will play off each other. Will Din also be disenchanted with the Mandalorian beliefs that he’s known his whole life? It’s the hook that leaves me excited for the rest of the season.
Tumblr media
Image via Lucasfilm
Of course, the show looks great thanks to Dean Cundey’s cinematography and the exciting action scenes. These live-action Star Wars shows have always impressed me with their movie-level production quality. Obviously shows like Game of Thrones have demonstrated that television can look as grand and cinematic as any blockbuster movie. For a franchise that originated from a film that changed the industry forever, it’s impressive that these shows look just as good as the movies that have come before them. That opening with the giant crocodilian creature gave me a big old grin on my face, especially as a fan of giant monsters and creature features. The space battle between Din Djarin and the pirates is also a lot of fun and introduces us to a fun group of villains that are probably going to pursue Din and Grogu across the galaxy.
THE BAD
Tumblr media
Image via Lucasfilm
I am by no means a Grogu hater. The little guy is adorable, is responsible for a lot of the show’s humor, and is never annoying. However, as of writing this review, I do not believe that Grogu needed to be here. What made Grogu in those first two seasons work was that he was the central focus. Season 1 was about protecting him from other bounty hunters, and Season 2 was about finding a Jedi to take Grogu away for training. Since Din and Grogu were reunited so quickly (in a spin-off), it seems like the little one’s only purpose in this season will be for marketability. I know I’m giving off grumpy old man vibes with this criticism and maybe Jon Favreau has something special up his sleeve for Grogu and why he needs to be here. I did chuckle at the moment when Grogu hugs an Anzellan (Babu Frik’s species from The Rise of Skywalker) like it’s a pet, so it’s safe to assume that Grogu will once again provide much of the show's comic relief (and plenty more internet memes).
OVERALL
Tumblr media
Image via Lucasfilm
While I went into this first episode with the bad taste of The Book of Boba Fett in my mouth, I finished it with optimism and interest in where the story will go. The next episode seems to be a side quest to fix IG-11, the droid that ended up being Grogu’s babysitter at the end of Season 1. It also took me back to the first season which feels more like a self-contained story and won’t feature other pre-established characters from other movies and shows the way Season 2 did. It’s nice to get back into the saddle or in this case the cockpit of an N1 Naboo Starfighter.
RATING
GOOD, BUT NOT GREAT

rules: tag people you want to know better and/or catch up with, then answer these questions below!
thank you @derpinathebrave for the tag! ♪(^∇^*) I answered a similar version of this not too long ago, so I've changed up the answers for some of these (like the ship one, i have so many ships, i can answer so many different versions of this LOL).
four ships:
Victuuri (Victor Nikiforov/Katsuki Yuuri) from Yuri on Ice. Love wins, and individually these two intrigue me so much that my YOI fics are the longest works I've ever written, and also thanks to this fandom for making me watch and now become a pretty fervent real life figure skating fan.
Kiryuu Joshua/Sakuraba Neku from The World Ends With You, specifically, the 2007 game version (because I'm still mad at how the 2021 anime changed their final confrontation). The partnership, the betrayals, the choices made when the chips are down. Trust your partner indeed.
Touya Akira/Shindou Hikaru from Hikaru no Go. Every couple of years I go insane on May 5 about this series and these two but anyway it's 2.5 months too early. Eternal rivals, soulmates, forever bonded together in pursuit of the Hand of God. This ship has everything.
Dreamling (Dream of the Endless/Hob Gadling) from The Sandman. I'm TV series only but like. We all saw episode 6 right? Like, the chemistry is off the charts.
last song: Someday by OneRepublic (this feels like a very IceMav-during-DADT-era song..)
currently reading: 羽生結弦アマチュア時代全記録 aka the complete record of Hanyu Yuzuru's figure skating amateur era. I can't actually read much Japanese (I am navigating this book by reading all kanji as their Chinese meaning) but frankly I'm mostly here for all the gorgeous pictures of Yuzu included in the book.
last movie: Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. I really enjoyed it! The animation is great and I loveeee every single entrance the Wolf has. Just excellent.
craving: sleep grrrr let me sleep or at least nap in peace ummm something sour and tangy, like lemonade or some kind of lemon/lime-based dessert.
not tagging anyone this time since i already tagged folks last round; feel free to pick this up if you'd like!

New Post has been published on Harold Gross: The 5a.m. Critic
New Post has been published on http://literaryends.com/hgblog/three-body-san-ti/
Three Body (San ti)
[2.5 stars]
The Three Body Problem, by Cixin Liu, was one of the most celebrated and respected hard science fiction novels of the last few decades. It is Russian-novel complex, but utterly consistent and fascinating. It was ripe for a media treatment… and there are two.
The second arrives in March 2024 on Netflix by way of the Game of Thrones team. But the first was a 30 episode extravaganza from China, where the book was originally written. I have higher hopes for the Netflix production having seen the teaser recently, but the Chinese original, while a commitment to be sure, is a fascinating example of adaptation. Whether you love it or hate it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a single book (or half a book in this case) given that much space to exist in broadcast media.
So, to explain that… Three Body is the first in a trilogy of books, so when I saw a count of 30 episodes, I assumed it was covering the entire scope (10 per book) or at least a truly detailed dramatization of the the wide-ranging first book. I was so wrong… and that is part of my fascination with, and frustration with, the series.
As with all adaptations, there are changes in the broadcast series from the book. Some are interesting, but many are rather off-putting, ultimately. And the pace of the reveal is even slower than the book… which is saying something. I can’t say I understand the reason for that change in particular. The story barely has any pace until the 19th episode. I don’t mind philosophical musing and discussions, but I know the story and holding it back as long as they did was not a way to hook folks in my opinion.
Add to this the additional challenge that some of the main motivations were being rewritten even after they’d been established, sometimes more than once. While I accept that the reasons we do things are often many-layered, you shouldn’t shift the main drive, or even deny it, once things are codified. The core act in this story is set up and reconceived many times over the episodes. Some reasons dovetail nicely, others don’t.
Ultimately, the conclusion  of the series sells a very different ending than the book. And again, I emphasize this doesn’t even quite cover the first half of the book. However the final frame leaves you with a definitive “The End,” implying there is no more to come, so whatever you’re going to take from it, you’ve a finite pool of action and dialogue. That ultimate message isn’t entirely incompatible with the original trilogy, but it is reductive and unsatisfying for those who have read it. If you haven’t, well, you’d have to let me know. I can’t forget the story enough to approximate that experience.
And now a moment about subtitles… I expect some variance in quality of subtitles, especially in TV. But around episode 19 the translations got really, really bad. Like they read as nonsense bad. If you didn’t know the story, I’m not even sure if you could follow the plot at that point, though I imagine you can make some guesses based on what you know and then what you learn. The Dali-esque lyrics and music that run before and after each episode don’t really help either, implying meaning that mostly had no place in the story as shown. And many of them are in English. Or at least they are using English words…I still don’t know what a lot of them meant in context.
I will say that some of the direct dramatizations were exactly what I’d pictured (in a good way) and that the finale is as spectacular as the scene they took it from  in the book. The coda that follows is where the story completely petered out for me. Perhaps they intend to follow it up, but I’m assuming this is all we’re going to get. To their credit, the did bring it to a final moment and message. And neither are out of sync with Liu’s, but they’re delivered in a way that feels unfair and unfinished after such a long journey, and very myopic. Again, I have more hope for the Netflix version, though they too could foul it up big time if they try too hard.
While not streaming generally, the Chinese version has been available via PBS. And, if nothing else, read the original book, it is truly spectacular and translated beautifully by fellow author Ken Liu (no relation). The second book’s translation is less adept, but the Liu’s reteam for the third book in the series. And the whole journey is on a universe-spanning scale that is truly amazing to travel.

Season 2 (2010)
This was the first Drag Race season I ever watched, which was about 2.5 years ago. I remembered Season 2 as this high-drama trainwreck. On second viewing, it's not as crazy as I remembered it being, but there is a fair amount of drama still. I called it a trainwreck because of the final 2. The edit does not shy away from showing how obnoxious Tyra is, while Raven seemed like she was going to be an early boot. But this isn't an underdog F2 either. Actually, I'd go as far as to say this is the most unlikeable F2 in the show's history. Moreover, Tyra's win has aged pretty poorly and it casts a dark shadow over the season. Otherwise, this is the first season that actually feels like I'm watching RPDR. Say goodbye to the Vaseline filter and the tiny Werk Room! However, the early seasons have an underwhelming feeling to them? There's very few acting or comedy challenges (there's only 2 of them here), and when there is an acting challenge, the queens are only given like 2 lines of dialogue each. This season also has the first Snatch Game, but it's clear that most of them didn't know they had to be funny in it. Additionally, the runway looks are just so... basic by today's standards. Untucked was on fire back then though. Season 2 definitely peaks in the wedding dress episode. Them all calling out Tyra on the main stage is one iconic moment. Challenge-wise, the Burlesque show is something they'd never do today lol, and it's so strange to see the queens in a different venue from where the show is filmed. The dancing was fun, but selling pies in the streets was pretty cringe. The book covers were mostly blah too. The Makeover continues to have the worst judging.  And the finale music video dance scene got pretty violent. Jujubee's eye got poked!
Queens Ranking: 12. Tyra Sanchez I have to put Tyra last for her problematic behaviour after the show. But even if that never happened, she'd probably be around 9th for me?, so it's not like she was one of my favourite winners anyways. She had the most impressive runways this season, and she was funny in the Disco Shorting ad, but her attitude is AWFUL. It's so odd to see someone this negative actually win. She acted overconfident and bratty. She annoyed everybody with her singing. She took a nap in the Werk Room. She put in 0 effort when she had immunity. But it's not just that. While I do think her 3 wins are justified, I actually think she could've been bottom 3 in 4 other challenges, including both her immunities (her Beyonce sucked, her Rocker Chick wasn't rock, her book title was wordy and she forgot the drink name, and her partner's make-up in the Makeover was bad). But she knew exactly what the judges wanted from her on the runway and she delivered there. Although it did feel like pandering at times. Still, the kind of drama she brought isn't the kind I stan someone for. 11. Raven And the runner-up is right down with her. Raven is the mean and cold-hearted one of season 2. She looked down on her competition and she just seemed so... unpleasant to be around. Her sour attitude is what landed her in the bottom 2 twice at the beginning of the season. She did not want to play that chicken, and it showed during her performance. And she could've been bottom 3 (again) for the Snatch Game with that boring Paris impersonation. Granted, she had some of the more polished runways, and she improved in the latter half of the season. But I'd enjoy Raven a lot more if she didn't have a stick up her ass for the entire season. She just kept talking s**t about Mystique or Nicole or Tatiana about how they didn't deserve to be there. 10. (Kylie) Sonique (Love) Lip sync gymnastics aside, Kylie is pretty invisible on this season. I would never expect her to win a future All Stars season based off her original run. 9. Morgan McMichaels Maybe a controversial ranking. Morgan was the initial frontrunner who crashed and burned mid-season. She had one of the more famous lip syncs too, but I did not like her in Untucked. Yeah, she deserved the curtain design challenge win, but that's mostly because... I disliked most of the outfits from that challenge. Otherwise, she totally bombed the Snatch Game as P!nk, and then got outshined by Sahara in the episode 5 lip sync. 8. Nicole Paige Brooks She's so aloof. It feels like she's playing a character the entire time. I laughed during her Werk Room entrance, but she didn't deliver much after that! 7. Pandora Boxx Pandora was one of the best performing queens this season. She was in the "tops" for many of the challenges, but she always got overshowed by someone else and she could never get a challenge win. I liked her Carol Channing in Snatch Game though. But the issue with Pandora is that she comes off... dry? I don't know, there was just something missing with her. She might be my least fave Miss C winner - I'll have to wait and see. That said, I did feel emotional when she talked about her attempted suicide. And I didn't agree with her being in the bottom for the Makeover challenge. 6. Sahara Davenport (R.I.P.) Maybe she was a bit forgettable on this season, but she seemed so sweet, warm, and down-to-Earth. She shouldn't have been bottom 2 in the first episode either, but it lead to an energetic (albeit messy) lip sync to kick off the season. She was decent in the Disco Shortening ad too. And then she did a ballet performance in her Swan Lake outfit for that episode 5 lip sync. 5. Mystique Summers Madison Mystique got picked on and she gave us "BITCH I AM FROM CHICAGO" but she was so out of her element in the competition. Her runways were pretty bad, especially the Curtain Couture one with the headpiece and the Country Realness one that was sooo plain. But the way she did the splits during the first runway was a LOLWTF moment. And then she won an eating challenge, which the other girls immaturely laughed about. 4. Shangela Her inexperience really showed in that first runway (why was there corn?!), but I wanted to see more of her, and I'm glad we did! She left the first ever lipstick mirror message which is iconic. And what she lacked in experience, she made up for in charisma. It felt like there was missed protentional when she went out first. I'll have more to say in her future appearances. 3. Jessica Wild I wasn't expecting to rank Jessica this highly, but she really gave her best effort despite the language barrier. She did a much better job than Raven as the chicken. I think she should've been top 3 in the Snatch Game as Ru. And her hairflips during the Rocker Chicks challenge was fun. The thing about Jessica is that she felt isolated from the rest of the queens; as if she existed in her own space. I don't think she was ever involved in the drama? Ultimately, she went home for not speaking well in a speaking challenge when she's ESL... but I didn't like the cover anyways. 2. Tatianna She was so good as Britney in Snatch Game and she called out Tyra on the main stage during wedding dress episode ("I don't think that you're seeing that Tyra is a complete bitch"). In other words, Tatiana is responsible for my two favourite moments of the season. She was constantly picked on, mostly notably by Raven, and she still held her own. She stood up for Mystique. And she stood against Tyra at Tyra's peak annoyance. Sure Tatiana also had some un-confident moments... like how she flopped the Reading challenge... and her runways were usually not that great. But I loved her just the same. Maybe she was better suited for a later season that relied less on runways. 1. Jujubee Jujubee was my favourite the first time I watched this season, and that hasn't changed on my second viewing. I just wish she had a better challenge track record. It's hard to argue that she should've won because she had to win THREE lip syncs to make finale. Still, I love her aesthetic and she truly earns the title of lip sync assassin. She sold the hell out of "Black Velvet"; while "Shake Your Love" was camp. She didn't win any main challenges, but she did win the Reading mini-challenge! And I think she should've won the book cover too ("Memoirs of a Gay-Sha" is a great title and she was fun in the interview.) I thought her 1st and 3rd Ball looks were good as well. Her Makeover was the worst, but I kinda hate the Makeover challenges anyway. Favourite entrance: Jessica Wild Challenge ranking: 1. Wedding dress (Design) 2. Diva Awards Ball 3. Snatch Game 4. "Jealous Of My Boogie" Music Video 5. Disco Shortening (Acting) 6. Rocker Chicks (Singing) 7. Gone with the Windows (Design) 8. Burlesque show (Choreo) 9. "Golden Gals" Makeover 10. Autobiography (Branding) Lip Sync ranking: 1. Morgan McMichaels vs Sonique ("Two of Hearts") 2. Jujubee vs Sahara Davenport ("Black Velvet") 3. Morgan McMichaels vs Sahara Davenport ("Carry On") 4. Nicole Paige Brooks vs Raven ("My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)") 5. Raven vs Tyra Sanchez ("Jealous Of My Boogie") 6. Jujubee vs Pandora Boxx ("Shake Your Love") 7. Jujubee vs Tatiana ("Something He Can Feel") 8. Sahara Davenport vs Shangela ("Cover Girl (Put the Bass in Your Walk)") 9. Jessica Wild vs Tatiana ("He's the Greatest Dancer") 10. Mystique Summers Madison vs Raven ("I Hear You Knocking") Season ranking so far: 2 > 1

question: what is the passage of time in arcane s1?
Specifically, what is the passage of time from episode 4 - 9?
We know that the time jump is about 5-7 years. But I had someone tell me that the time of episodes 4 to 9 is one (1) week. Has this been confirmed by the writing team in any way, have they put forward the passage of time for those episodes?
Because ONE week genuinely sounds deranged to me
Tumblr media
As that would mean:
Jinx committed a total of 3 different bombings / attacks in the space of 3-4 days in Piltover (2.5 if we don't really want to count the shipping manifest fiasco) before she is injured so badly after the last one on the bridge that she has to go through a life-saving procedure at the hands of Singed, somewhat recover from any after-effects of that, finish building her bomb, and then show up again to kidnap her sister, Silco, Caitlyn, do her own Death in the Family dinner party, and blow up the council headquarters - ALL THAT in the space of 2-3 days. WHAT?????
Mel finds out in ep7 that enemies abroad are eying Piltover for possible invasion because of the recent 'unrest' in the under-city and the fact that Piltover hasn't dealt with it based on the recent flare-ups with the bombing attacks etc. This increasing recent unrest and Piltover's passivity has said enemies believing that Piltover is vulnerable and ripe for the picking. But if that's the case, she received that intel on a Thursday, when the shipping fiasco happened on a Monday. WHAT????
SUB-POINT TO THE ABOVE: And we know that while Caitlyn was putting the threads together of Silco's enterprise in the under-city, that these things hadn't really spilled over into the top-city until episode 4. So these aforementioned enemies might've had spies observing the issues in the under-city but they would have few reasons to feel Piltover's "vulnerable" prior to ep4 based on the show's own explanation. So, WHAT??????
If we're to believe this timeline. Then, Jayce becomes a councilman on a Monday, he tries to fight corruption aggressively on Tuesday, learns how to play corruption well on Wednesday, kicks Heimerdinger off the council on Thursday, does some unsanctioned raids of the undercity on Friday, makes a peace deal with Silco on Sunday??? I can buy impulsivity and rashness as some of Jayce's core character traits, along with his tendency to apply simple solutions to complex realities and having that blow up in his face. A LOT. In fact, I love that about him. But this seems a bit beyond the pale, especially re: the weight that some of these decisions are meant to hold. So WHAT????
I could somewhat buy that Vi, Caitlyn's adventures in the undercity arc plays out in the space of a week or so. SOMEWHAT. Mainly because the brevity of time is so vital to just how harrowing that story is. But even that feels a bit of a stretch. Because based on the happenings of the show, if this all happens in a week, then their parts between ep 5-8 play out in 3 days. WHAT???
And when you try to place the arc playing out in the under-city alongside the top-city's, it really begins to feel bizarre. Like they exist in two different time dimensions that only collide whenever Jinx blows something up, lol.
My current personal head canon is that the top-side story takes place over a month to two months, even three if I'm feeling sassy and want to write more MelJay dates.
So this might all be a useless post because perhaps the show-runners have clarified this. Or maybe I'm not understanding it right. If there is some clarity on the time passage, please share that information along....
If not, it feels like this is one area where the show's writers needed to tighten up the storyboards, and perhaps draw out the parallel stories they have going, the individual arcs of each character to make sure that the beats line up.
OR you know, it's fine, we can just have the two parallel time dimensions because sometimes it's annoying when shows OVER-EXPLAIN. And look, I appreciate that this show is almost ALL KILLER, NO FILLER. I think it just becomes tricky on repeat viewings and when you're trying to write lots of dates, can you understand I am purely here to write dates????!!!????

Eras of a Franchise:
Tumblr media
1993 - 1997: The Classic Era - Following the success of the “pilot” miniseries, a full comic series based on Sonic the Hedgehog that combined elements from the games and the two cartoon shows currently on the air is produced. It starts off incredibly silly and episodic, but gradually becomes more serious with an overarching storyline and character development. This era concludes with the “Endgame” story arc, where Sonic and the Freedom Fighters defeat Dr. Robotnik once and for all in what was initially conceived as the series finale. Writers: Michael Gallagher, Angelo Decesare, Ken Penders, Mike Kanterovich, Kent Taylor
1997 - 2000: The Adventuring Era - Continuing on past “Endgame”, the comic almost completely dropped its comedy aspects and became a full-on adventure series, first going through the Ixis Naugus arc (aka the Mobius World Tour arc), then the Return of Robotnik arc, and then appropriately enough the Sonic Adventure adaptation arc. During this era, the Knuckles the Echidna series ran in its entirety, lasting 32 issues before its cancellation. Writers: Karl Bollers, Ken Penders, Michael Gallagher, Kent Taylor
2000 - 2003: The Declining Era - When Sonic and friends returned to Knothole village following the Sonic Adventure adaptation arc, the series began a sharp decline in quality and fan reception. Sonic entered a love triangle with Princess Sally and Mina Mongoose that dragged on for issues on end, Knuckles turned green and obtained ultimate power that he proceeded to do jack shit with until his temporary death reversed the effect, and at one point there was such a lack of direction for the comic that its covers began being patterned after tabloids as a gimmick to grab reader interest. The era managed to finish strong with the “Sonic Adventure 2.5″ two-parter, but the optimism this caused proved to be premature. Writers: Karl Bollers, Ken Penders, Michael Gallagher, Romy Chacon
2003 - 2006: The Miserable Era - After being lost in space for a few issues, Sonic returned to Earth and everything promptly went to Hell. Sally broke up with him via the most infamous slap prior to Will Smith’s at the Oscars, the much reviled Tommy Turtle became a mainstay character, the origin of the Freedom Fighters was retconned, characters swung wildly in and out of character, the furry romantic drama made famous by the preceding era reached an apex of insufferability, the notorious “Mobius: 25 Years Later” storyline transpired, and of course we got THIS. At this point, many fans wondered why this series was still running. Writers: Karl Bollers, Ken Penders, Michael Gallagher, Romy Chacon
2006 - 2009: The Renewal Era - Following a clean sweep of the comic’s writers, things got more or less back on track, with many long-hanging story threads finally being wrapped up, characters mostly acting like themselves again, and the sense of genuine forward momentum finally returning. Highlights include A.D.A.M’s rebellion which resulted in Tommy Turtle’s death, the Enerjak Reborn arc which resulted in Locke’s death, and Dr. Robotnik reasserting himself as the primary threat by finally destroying Knothole and delivering a brutal beatdown to Sonic. Lowlights include the misguided continuation of “Mobius: 25 Years Later”, the utterly asinine “House of Cards” two-parter, and almost everything involving Scourge the Hedgehog. Writers: Ian Flynn
2009 - 2013: The Burdened Era - Cracks began to show in Ian Flynn’s run following the 200th issue, with the unpopular Iron Dominion story arc dragging on for over a year. The following King Naugus and Mecha Sally story arcs were also controversial, and it seemed like the rampant OOC syndrome from the Miserable Era had returned with a vengeance. Adding to the problems the comic was having was one of its own former writers, Ken Penders, whose legal battles with Archie over the ownership of his characters resulted in a full-on cosmic reboot for the series’ continuity at the conclusion of the “Worlds Collide” crossover event with the Mega Man comic, which remains a sore spot for fans of the series to this day. Writers: Ian Flynn
2013 - 2017: The Reboot Era - The majority of the reboot ended up dedicated to a single storyline: the Shattered World Crisis which very loosely adapted the plot of Sonic Unleashed. This particular arc dragged on and on for years, not helped by another crossover with Mega Man, “Worlds Unite”, interrupting it in the middle. Following the Shattered World Crisis’ conclusion, the Archie comic series was officially cancelled, having lasted for a full 24 years. Writers: Ian Flynn
