Long before Pearl Harbor, and despite loud protestations of non-involvement by some, Americans were preparing for war. Here, a Boy Scout has his arm tied up in a splint after it has been dressed by Red Cross workers, following the "evacuation" of about 2,000 New Yorkers who left for Dutchess County, September 9, 1941.
What is it about fics then, where characters always, ALWAYS, have a spare toothbrush conveniently just hanging about in bathroom cupboards for that time someone is, usually unexpectedly, staying the night?
I have lived a few decades now, and I have never known anyone who keeps spare toothbrushes. Is it really common??
So I watched ESB the other day and I keep thinking about the line "that boy is our last hope" especially in relation to Leia's relationship with Obi-Wan.
Because Obi-Wan has met her. He knows her. He knows how powerful she is and I highly doubt that when he said that what he meant was "Luke is the only Force-sensitive out there strong enough to defeat Darth Vader" because it's clearly not true.
But, once again, Obi-Wan knows Leia. Obi-Wan, the man who could never bring himself to end his former apprentice. He knows about her spirit and her fire and her anger. He knows that out of her and her brother, she would be the one who would end the Sith lord with no hesitation and no regrets. Yoda doesn't know her like that.
So maybe when Obi-Wan says Luke is their last hope, what Yoda (and much of the audience) hears is "That boy is our last hope for the galaxy," but what Obi-Wan is really saying is "That boy is our last hope for Anakin."
Idk it’s such a small thing but. when Anakin is demanding to be let in to see Ahsoka and Fox is telling him no. Fox is like on the other side of a safety glass, which is probably made to be able to withold almost everything. Anakin would have to probably pull his lighsaber out to get through the glass. There is no way he is getting his hands onto Fox and Fox knows this, he is calm. But then the moment he flinches, the two other guards are like “okay time to move in” with activated weapons. You can try to tell me it is the Guard being assholes and using too much force but I’m choosing to believe that it’s the Guard being protective of their commander and fully willing to shock Anakin to the next Galaxy because the gestured threateningly towards Fox.
