Meet Nick, the half-dragon Cleric I play in the DnD Campaign “Yaveli Chronicles”.

Nick is a god of the death domain, who wants nothing more than to get a break from his boring godly deskjob. When he gets the chance to posess a followers’ body he takes it and has to learn, that getting back to the ethereal plane is not as easy as he expected.

The concept:
Clerics are my favourite class, but I am tired of having to pray to a god.
So I figured: What if I was my own god?
He is a big dumb goof out to party, with an ego to rival Seto Kaiba.

A cute little shape changing beast our group encountered in our Yaveli Chronicles DnD Campaign.
“Standing on their hind legs you see little cat like faces with black fur and horns on their head. If the light hits them the right way, you can also see some blue scales shining through. They are standing there in the grass, looking at you...”

Is the half-dragon mortal form that Nick currently has just what the mortal follower looked like before they were possessed by Nick, or is it an amalgamation of them? Like the host's body + Nick's godly influence = a hybrid being kinda deal? Cuz the worshiper is in impressively good shape and I'm wondering if that's due to divine influence or smth? And I noticed that the human form Nick took while still a proper god looks very different, does being in a mortal body so different from his usual human form have any effect on, maybe not his personality but how he acts, a little? Like, is he like "Man, this is really different, this could be fun" and he plays around with it a bit?
I'm also wondering, what kind of person was the worshipper before they were taken over? Were they selfish? Selfless? Smart? Not so smart? Etc. And what's happened to them now that Nick has taken them over? Is their consciousness dead, or is it just in a deep sleep and they'll return once Nick leaves for good, or are they still awake/aware to a degree, and act kind of like a back-seat driver or an annoying voice in Nick's head as he goes around doing his thing?
Thank you so much for the ask!
I'm happy to talk more about my dragon man. Hopefully I can answer your questions it in a way that makes sense!
"Is the half-dragon mortal form that Nick currently has just what the mortal follower looked like before they were possessed by Nick, or is it an amalgamation of them?"
The half-dragon body - Haco's body - is still the same way it was before the posession. Haco had worked as a sellsword and from it was already incredibly fit.
Early on I had played around with an idea of making a mixed version of both Haco's body and Nick's god form, but...I quickly gave up on that...cause, look at that: I may go back to this later, but it definatively needs a second draft.
And I noticed that the human form Nick took while still a proper god looks very different, does being in a mortal body so different from his usual human form have any effect on, maybe not his personality but how he acts, a little? Like, is he like "Man, this is really different, this could be fun" and he plays around with it a bit?
Absolutely on that!
I should mention, that the human form of Nick's godly representation barely gets any use, because the monster pantheon he is a part of is required to present themselves in their respective monstrous form.
So him getting to use any human representation at all is a dream come true. You could say it's like he's a nerd that's finally getting to live his dreamlife as a beefy mortal jock. It shows in him being curious and overindulging in debauchery like drinks, philandering and generally being very full of himself as he swaggers through the mortal realm.
If you're curious about Haco, I've put down all the notes I have about him on this website:
https://yaveli-chronicles.carrd.co/
This is all the information I have handed over to the DM. I had left what happened with Haco once Nick takes over open for them to interpret and surprise even me.
So at this current moment, I sadly can't say what happened to him.
He hasn't been seen or heard of. So no nagging voice in the back of the head, he's just...missing for now.
The only thing I've learned about him since is, that Haco had some more strange mercenary friends, with who he was taking part in a 'Hunger-Games'-esque spectacle. Nick having had no clue about this, has now found himself roped up and hunted, since Haco's old teammates are upset and accusing him of having "betrayed" them for running off and finding a new 'team' of adventurers.
