40y.o ace who doesn’t get jealous of little boys who’s lusting over his hot ass wife, but instead “oh at least they have good taste in women, who can blame them for lusting over her beauty?”
His wife can look as hot as she wants and he won’t get jealous that easily because he trust her and he’s not insecure (on this age he would already achieve shits he wanted and only living his best life with his wife, which he’s now has a peaceful mind)
especially when he knows he’s hot, hot asf, everyone lust for him too it’s not a secret (I hc he lowkey act like rayleigh in his 40s-60s)
They can cry all they want over his hot wife but he knows none of them can have her, so he’s pretty chill, and even tease them by grabbing his wife in front of them.
different story if someone actually tries to touch her, he would be mad mad. he won’t hesitate to hurt them fuckers, touching his beloved wife? even when she’s a strong one, no one can lay a finger on her.

You were in the club with the rest of the Whitebeard Pirates, enjoying the music and dancing the night away. They were all in high spirits, celebrating their recent victories and looking forward to the future.
You had been sitting with Marco, sipping on your drinks, as you watched the Fireboy move from one group of ladies to the next with ease. His smooth talking and charm had the entire club captivated.
Despite your best efforts, you couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy in your chest as you watched him. He had a way of making everyone feel special, but you wished he would have given you some of his attention instead.
You wanted to be the one he was talking to, the one he was giving his attention to.
"You know if you keep looking him like that, then he might actually notice,"
You jumped, looking over to where the voice came from to see Marco glancing at you with a mischievous smile on his face.
"What are you talking about?" you said, trying to hide the light blush that had started to spread across your cheeks.
Marco chuckled and took a sip from his drink. "You know what I'm talking about," he said. "Just don't be too obvious about it. If you play your cards right, he might take the hint."
"I'm not sure if I'm ready for that," I said, shaking my head. "I mean, I don't even know if he would be interested in me. I don't want to put myself out there and make a fool of myself."
Marco smiled and said, "You might be surprised. You never know until you try. And there's no harm in expressing your interest."
You nodded, glancing at Ace one more time before turning your gaze away, your heart fluttering nervously. You took a deep breath and made a silent wish that maybe, just maybe, he would notice you. . . .
Tumblr media
You were laughing and chatting with your new drinking buddies, enjoying the music and the atmosphere.
You felt free and at peace, and you couldn't help but smile as you watched everyone around you having the time of their lives.
You had forgotten all about Ace and were just living in the moment.
That was until you felt someone grab your hand.
"Excuse me, miss," the old man said with a lecherous grin. "You look like you could use some company. How about you and I have a little private dance?"
You quickly pulled your hand away, disgusted by his advances. "No thank you,"
"Why not?" He persisted.
"I have a boyfriend," you lied, hoping it would deter him.
But instead of backing off, the old man chuckled and replied, "Oh, is that so? Well, where is he then? I don't see him anywhere."
"I'm right here," he said, a voice filled with protectiveness. You turned around to see Ace standing there with a serious expression. The old man's grin faded as he realized he had crossed a line, and he quickly made his exit.
Ace, fully turned towards you, looked at you with concern and asked, "Are you okay?"
Ace's eyes softened as he gently touched the place where the man had grabbed you, his touch sending a wave of warmth through your body.
Y/N, don't fall for him even more. He does this to every woman in need of saving.
You're not special.
Without saying a word, you ran away from him, your heart pounding in your chest. You sprinted through the crowded streets, desperate to put as much distance between you and Ace as possible.
It wasn't until you stopped to catch your breath that you realized you had no idea where you had ended up.
As you stood there, panting and disoriented, you felt the first droplets of rain hit your face. Within seconds, the light drizzle turned into a heavy downpour, soaking you to the bone.
The rain poured down on you, mixing with your tears, you couldn't help but let out a sob. The combination of the physical and emotional pain became too overwhelming to bear, and you found yourself breaking down in the middle of the unfamiliar street.
"Y/N! Y/N!"
You jumped at the voice of Ace, shocked at how he had followed you all the way.
Dreading the look on his face, you still turned around to see Ace standing there, rain-soaked and concerned. His eyes searched yours, filled with worry and regret.
"Y/N?" he said softer, his voice filled with genuine concern and regret.
"Why did you follow me all the way here?" You asked.
"I couldn't just let you run off like that," Ace replied, his voice laced with sincerity. "I care about you, Y/N. I wanted to make sure you're okay."
"Is that what you say to every woman in need?" You blurted out, your voice filled with anger and hurt.
Ace's shocked expression quickly turned into one of remorse as he realized the impact of his actions.
"No, Y/N," he said earnestly, his voice filled with regret.
You couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment and betrayal, even though you two weren't even dating. The realization that Ace's protective nature might be more of a habit than a genuine emotion made you question the authenticity of his actions towards you.
You decided that since you weren't going to have a chance with him, you might as well tell him.
"Ace, I've liked you for a while and I know-" You started, your eyes fixated on the muddy floor.
You didn't hear his footsteps, but suddenly your face was raised up by Ace's gentle touch. His hand cupped your chin, lifting your gaze to meet his eyes.
Your heart skipped a beat as you noticed the proximity between your faces, the warmth of his hand against your skin. Despite the closeness, there was still a hint of uncertainty lingering in the space between you, as if both of you were waiting for the other to make a move.
"Can I kiss you?"
You nodded, a mix of nervousness and anticipation flooding your senses. Without wasting any time, Ace closed the distance between you and pressed his lips against yours, the taste of rain and longing intertwining in the kiss.
It was a moment filled with both vulnerability and a glimmer of hope, as if the downpour had washed away the doubts and fears that had kept you apart for so long.
When the both of us broke away from each other, Ace started speaking.
"I like you too Y/N, I- I was just scared of how you would react if I confessed,"
"Scared?" You would never think the Fire Fist Ace was scared of anything.
"Yes, I mean who would Iike a monster like me in the first place?"
"Me," You interrupted, "I mean not the monster part because you're not a monster-"
A quick kiss shut you up immediately.
You started to pout, "You need to stop interrupting me when I'm talking,"
"But it's so nice to kiss you, I can't stop," He admitted shamelessly, his cheeks blushing immensely.
You laughed at his bad flirting skills.
"H- Hey! It's not funny!" He pouted.
At moment, you realised that you were special to him. He blushed when he flirted with you, he stuttered when he is with you and loves you more than those girls in the bar. . . .
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
"So you're telling me that you were jealous of the girls in the bar?" Ace teased you with his famous grin as he leaned against you.
"Well yeah," You mumbled, crossing your arms in embarrassment. Maybe you did slightly overreact.
Ace then hugged your side, winking. "I'm sorry for making you jealous, let me treat you tonight,"

"Ace, are you finished warming the buns," you asked, mixing the baking mix for the next batch. As the delicious smell of freshly baked bread filled the kitchen, you couldn't help but anticipate the mouthwatering treats that were about to come out of the oven.
"For the last time, I'm not an oven," Ace grumbled yet still used his devil fruit to heat up inside your cast iron stove. As the temperature rose, the buns began to brown and release their irresistible aroma, signaling that they were almost ready to be devoured.
Ace took them out and placed them on your table before leaning against the counter and looking in your direction, a mischievous grin on his face.
"I hope you're ready to indulge in some of the most delectable buns you've ever tasted," he said, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"You know they're for the village, right?" you added, finally turning around to see him with the buns.
Ace's mischievous grin widened as he replied, "Oh, I know. But who says we can't have a little taste test of your delicious buns before sharing them with everyone else?"
Blushing at his flirtatious remark, you quickly refocused on the task at hand. Pouring the remaining mixture into the bun tray, you couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement as you imagined everyone's delight when they tasted your homemade creations.
That was until your hair started to get in the way, you were busy making the buns and forgot to wear a hair net.
"Um, Ace," you started, questioning if you should ask him for a favor.
"Yeah Y/N?" Ace replied.
"Do you think you could lend me a hand and help me find a hair tie? I don't want any loose hairs getting into the buns."
You heard footsteps approaching, but there was no answer.
You then felt a gentle hand push your hair behind your ears, and when you turned to look slightly, you saw Ace standing beside you with a hair tie in his hand, a warm smile on his face.
Your heart skipped a beat at seeing him so close, and you couldn't help but blush.
You felt your heart flutter and you felt your breath catch in your throat. You felt yourself relax as you looked into his eyes, your heart still pounding in your chest.
In that moment, you realized that Ace's presence had a powerful effect on you. His warm smile and close proximity made you feel a whirlwind of emotions, from excitement to nervousness to joy.
It was as if time stood still, and you couldn't help but wonder if there was something more between you than just a love for baking.
"Hey! Are you two finished? The villagers are getting hungry!" A voice yelled out of nowhere, belonging to Marco.
Startled, you quickly snapped out of your daze and realized that you had been lost in the moment with Ace. With a sheepish smile, you turned to Marco and replied, "Sorry, we got a bit carried away. The buns are ready, we'll bring them out right away!"
Ace quickly tied your hair with the hair tie, making sure no loose strands would get into the buns. Afterward, he stationed himself back by the cast iron stove, ready to assist with the final preparations before bringing the delicious buns out to the hungry villagers.
Unbeknownst to you, Ace's face was as red as a tomato, his whole face flushed with embarrassment. He quickly looked away, hoping you hadn't noticed his blushing. . . .
✧༺♥༻∞✧༺♥༻∞✧༺♥༻∞✧༺♥༻∞✧༺♥༻∞
As you walked in front of the large group in which they called themselves the 'Whitebeard Pirates', holding nothing while they carried all of the buns, you couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.
You had never heard of the 'Whitebeard Crew' before, but perhaps that was because news from the outside world rarely reached your secluded island.
In the midst of your island being destroyed, the 'Whitebeard Crew' arrived just in time to save all of the villagers.
Ever since their arrival, the Whitebeard Crew had been tirelessly working to rebuild the island, restoring it to its former glory. Their dedication and hard work were evident in the progress that had been made, and you couldn't help but feel grateful for their presence and the impact they had on your life.
"Hey, did you hear that there are some pirates around?" you heard a villager say to another frightenedly.
You were shocked when you heard that there were pirates nearby.
Your heart started to race, and beads of sweat formed on your forehead as you tried to process the news. The thought of pirates being nearby filled you with a mix of fear and terror.
You couldn't help but wonder what their presence would mean for the island and its inhabitants. Again.
"What are you thinking about?" Ace's voice interrupted your thoughts, making you jump.
You turned to him, trying to hide your worry, and replied, "I heard there are pirates nearby. I can't help but worry about what that means for our island and everyone here."
Ace's jaw clenched and his eyes darted around nervously, betraying his unease. He took a deep breath before asking curiously, "Why are you so terrified of pirates?"
You let out a deep breath, saying, "They destroyed the village and killed my parents," the words caught in your throat as memories of that fateful day flooded back.
The pain and loss were still raw, and the thought of encountering pirates again brought back a wave of fear and vulnerability.
The screams of the villagers echoed in your ears as the pirates raided the island, their ugly laughter filling the air. The cries of pain and fear, mixed with the sound of gunshots, created a haunting symphony that still haunt your nightmares. The trauma of that day was etched deep within you, fueling your terror at the mere mention of pirates.
"I'm sorry for your loss," Ace muttered as he walked by your side.
Guilt filled Ace's body as he realized that he had not told you that he was a pirate himself. He understood the weight of your fear and the pain you had endured, and he knew that revealing his past would only deepen your wounds.
He felt like a coward for not being honest with you, but he also knew that it was the only way to protect the people he loved. He knew that you needed time and space to heal, and so he kept his secret.
The rest of the walk was silent for the both of you while the rest of the crew were chatting between themselves. Each step carried a heavy weight, burdened by the unspoken truth that hung in the air. Ace's heart ached, knowing that the longer he kept his secret, the harder it would be to reveal it.
Taking a deep breath, you pushed aside your fear and plastered a smile on your face as you all finally arrived at the hall where everyone was gathered to get their afternoon snacks before going back to rebuilding.
The sight of the resilient islanders, working together to rebuild their lives, gave you a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness that lingered in your heart.
"Hello guys!" You said excitedly as you walked into the room, trying to hide the lingering fear and pain that still haunted you.
As you helped the islanders in their efforts to rebuild even by baking them food, you couldn't help but be inspired by their resilience and determination to create a better future, despite the horrors of the past.
Their faces lit up with gratitude and joy as they saw you enter the room, carrying trays of freshly baked food. The islanders, weary from the hardships they had endured, found solace in the simple act of sharing a meal together, and their appreciation for your presence was evident in their smiles and expressions of gratitude.
As you distributed the trays of freshly baked food, the islanders couldn't help but gush over the delicious treats. "Wow! They look so good!" exclaimed one islander, while another chimed in with, "I didn't think that you were going to pull this off!"
Even the children couldn't contain their excitement, as one of them eagerly asked, "Mummy! Can I have one!"
Their comments brought a sense of warmth and satisfaction, reminding you that despite the pain and fear that still haunted you, you were making a positive impact on their lives.
As soon as the group set the trays down, the villagers ran over with excitement, their eyes lighting up at the sight of the freshly baked food. They eagerly reached out, their hands grabbing for the treats, their expressions filled with gratitude and anticipation.
You stayed back, watching them devour the buns made you smile with joy. Seeing their hunger satisfied and witnessing the happiness on their faces was a powerful reminder of why you had chosen to stay and help rebuild their lives.
"You know, you should join our crew," Marco said to you as he stood beside you, crossing his arms. "With your baking skills and the positive impact you're making, we could really use someone like you to help us while we're at sea."
Even though you knew he was serious, you chuckled at his comment. "What do you guys even do for a living?" you replied with a smile.
"We're pirates," Marco answered as serious as possible.
You quickly looked at him and didn't see any mischief on his face, but you couldn't help but wonder if he was joking. Pirates?
Quickly, you glanced at Ace, how he nicely chatted with the elderly with a smile on his face.
It was as if the thought of being a pirate had corrupted his once pure aura, leaving you with a sense of unease. . . .

Pairing: Portuguese D. Ace x Fem!Reader
Rating: For all and sundry, with a little sprinkle of spiciness here and there
Summary: Small glimpses of daily life in autumn with your partner Ace, in this case we are not in the world of OP, but we are in the real world. An idea that came to me thanks to this Post, and what's more, the Autumn Equinox is today🍂 ah, my favorite season begins!
Tumblr media
🍁 Cosy Autumn Prompts 🍁
Tumblr media
🍁 Cuddling under a blanket 🍁
The days were starting to get shorter and shorter, the air was finally starting to feel fresher and not as muggy as in the previous days which had forced you to sleep in separate beds and with the fan on because it was too hot.
Finally the time came when you could get under a blanket and bask in the early hours of the morning. Ace is happy about this, he complained all summer that he couldn't use you as a pillow - he didn't mind the heat, but you risked fainting if the temperature was too excessive.
It felt good to feel his strong arms wrapping around your waist and bringing you close to him. Ace loved kissing every single inch of your free skin, sometimes he would take off your pajamas to have more skin to kiss, his fingers would pinch your hips pleasantly and you would laugh holding him to you. You liked stroking his hair, kissing his face and gently pulling his cheeks to tease him a little, tracing the lines of his muscles and observing that galaxy of freckles on his body. You kissed him, every now and then a little bite here and there. It was nice to go back to old habits.
“Come on pigeons, come down instead of flirting in bed.” The knocks on the door and Marco's voice brought you back to reality. It was better not to keep the large Newgate family waiting, also because you risked that one of them would enter the room to grab you and drag you out of bed.
You were about to get up when Ace held you back, carrying you back to the bed and placing the blanket over you.
“The two of us haven't finished our dose of morning cuddles yet.” He had said, kissing you passionately and leaving you no escape. Not even the knocks on the doors and threats from his older brother changed Ace's mind.
🍁 Baking together 🍁
Autumn also meant preparing big family lunches for everyone to be together. Or rather you cooked, Ace was responsible for tasting the dishes to help you adjust the spices, salt, pepper and cooking of the food.
The last time he cooked, his brothers had told you, the fire alarm had gone off and for this reason the whole family had decreed that Ace would no longer go near the stove. So all his brothers were amazed at your culinary skills and the fact that you allowed him to stay in the kitchen without causing damage.
“Ace, can you tell me if the pancake batter turned out well? Then get me the sugar and cinnamon.” You said as you continued to mix the cream to fill the pancakes with, Satch had entrusted you with the task of making desserts for that Branch and you had gone wild. Ace was very happy about it, he loved your sweets and finally he could go into the kitchen and scoff at some food.
“Did it come out perfect, when did you fry it?” The boy asked, passing you the ingredients you asked for. You replied that it would be better to do them after everyone had arrived, only his two brothers Sabo and Luffy were missing but they were on their way and would be there any moment.
“Oh no, I forgot to whip the cream for the cake!” Only then did you remember the cake that was resting in the fridge still unfilled and you also had to add all the fruit to it, but you had to finish making the blueberry pancakes and then the apple ones and the peach ones: "Ace, take the whisks and whip the cream, after which I'll decorate it." The situation was desperate because everyone was busy, even Satch.
Your boyfriend looked at you for a whole minute, then following your request and the instructions you gave him: you told him to take the cold container, put the cream in it and then use the whisk, increasing the speed slowly. You also told him what movement he had to make, up and down in such a way as to incorporate a little air to make it softer.
For once you were optimistic, he wouldn't do any damage.
A scream coming from the other side of the kitchen made you whirl towards an Ace covered from head to toe in whipped cream. How had he multiplied the cream like that?! You turned off the stove and headed towards him with a tablecloth to dry him off.
"Look at the bright side." He said as he tasted the cream on the sides of his mouth. Only he could see a positive side in that disaster,
“Didn't you let the kitchen catch fire?” You replied as you cleaned his clothes, he would have to go change, god it had gotten all over him.
“I know how to whip excellent cream.” Ace said smiling at you and letting you taste some whipped cream from his hand. In fact he was right, he had been good and there was enough left in the bowl to fill the cake.
“No Food Porn in my kitchen!” You jumped to attention as soon as you heard Satch's voice coming from the other side of the room and burst out laughing, who knows what he heard.
🍁 Lazy days in 🍁
Ace is a hyperactive boyfriend - despite his chronic narcolepsy - he doesn't know how to sit still for a moment, not even in the morning when you would like to sleep and stay under the covers as much as possible, but no, Ace won't let you. He's like a persistent cricket until you get up and go down to breakfast with him.
Ace tells you what he did as you go down the stairs and you listen to him trying not to trip on the steps and give him all the attention he deserves-because despite everything you love him to death. He took out the rubbish, put away the new bags, went for his morning run and has already met with your whole group of friends to get organized and go to university, he got the newspaper, did the shopping for breakfast and he went to get you your favorite espresso to surprise you.
The container is lukewarm, he begins to slowly sip your drink while your boyfriend does ten thousand things a second, he is emptying the dishwasher that you put on the previous evening while he tells you some gossip about the neighborhood, and he begins to put away every object of the kitchen in its place.
You remain with your drink and your eyes half closed listening to him, smiling every now and then in the hope that your brain will reconnect to the world with the caffeine it is ingesting.
Then the sound of a photo wakes you up and the vibrations of your phone force you to open the family chat - or rather the chat in which Ace's family have included you because for them you are part of the family now.
“Ace, did you send a photo of me in this condition?” You said without getting too angry, by now Ace's family knew you so well that they had seen you in even worse situations - and you had your photo library to be able to threaten them.
“You look like Baby Yoda, look how cute you are!” He said Ace hugging you and peppering you with kisses on the cheeks, as if he were going to charge you-it kind of worked.
“Come on, we have so many things to do and so many lessons to follow.” The brunette said placing your favorite cereal in front of you. His smile was so beautiful.
“Ace it's six in the morning, lessons start at nine, I'm going back to bed.” You tried to get up, but Ace didn't let you go, this time too you weren't able to fully enjoy a lazy day, but your boyfriend knows how to make up for it.
🍁 Carving pumpkins 🍁
Having a little brother is something you've always wanted, and Luffy is perfect for this role. You love Ace's five year old brother, he's small, compact and sometimes when you go out you can pretend to be a happy family to get some discounts on lunch. And Luffy loves calling you mom or calling Ace dad to scare away girls who bother him when you go out shopping together.
And that day was no different, you went out to buy pumpkins to carve, Luffy's school had assigned this task to the children to start decorating the school for the autumn term. And the girls attacked Ace while you and Luffy were choosing the pumpkins to buy, you and the little one looked at each other and carried out the plan, the girls' faces were a sight and Ace played your game so well that they ran away apologizing to you.
“Luffy uses the spoon to remove the pulp and seeds, but don't throw them away, I'll put them in the oven to make some snacks.” You said as you continued carving the pumpkin you had emptied earlier, “Ace help your brother.” You added seeing the smaller one in difficulty. You hadn't expected them both to make a mess and end up covered in pumpkin from head to toe, you were only distracted for two minutes.
You rolled your eyes at their carelessness laughing until you felt something sticky hit your chest. It was pumpkin pulp, the one that was not eaten and which contained all the seeds. The two brothers looked at you with challenging looks. You started running around the kitchen, aware that they would catch you in no time and that they would fill you with pumpkin, but you managed to defend yourself even if you fell and they both followed closely behind you due to how slippery the floor had become.
“Now we have to clean ourselves up.” You said jokingly as you picked up a little Luffy in your arms and removed the pumpkin on his face.
“We bathe together!” The little one said smiling playfully and chuckling and throwing himself on top of you.
“And I was going to cook you, stuff you and eat you.” Ace whispered in your ear making you turn all red as soon as he placed his lips on your neck. Or why your boyfriend could be so damn sexy even in a situation like that.
“Ace I want to eat the stuffed big sister too!” Luffy's comment shocked you, or at least he made you go into disarray while Ace laughed big time at what was happening, the little one looked at you in a daze, leaning on your neckline to understand if you were doing well or badly.
He would then ask Sabo.
🍁 Movie nights 🍁
“We're over having a movie marathon!” Ace always had a bad habit of yelling at everyone when you came up to his room. You knew that he had pushy brothers, very pushy, but every now and then you wanted something calmer.
“Do you have to say it every time?” You asked, pulling his cheek a little.
“Let's go so they don't bother us.” The boy replied as he kissed the palm of his hand making you blush visibly.
“Turn the volume up a little or change movie genre, lovebirds!” Izou's voice made you stop halfway up the stairs, the boy with long black hair passed you, adding: "And this time we're almost full, so I suggest you don't do any kind of stunt."
"WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?" Ace started chasing his brother.
“That the walls of the house are thin turnip heads!”
🍁 Flannel shirts 🍁
If there was one thing you liked to do it was get rid of Ace's shirts. Your beloved boyfriend had built up so much muscle mass thanks to his workouts that many shirts he owned had to be given away because they were too small now. And finally you could throw away some of dubious taste, like the leopard one or the one with zebra stripes. You finally had the power and the opportunity to get new ones.
“Cool colors suit you better Ace.” You told him as you hung some shirts in those shades, you had filled him with shirts to try on in the changing rooms.
“Are you sure I need that many? I only need a couple." He said coming out of the dressing room and wearing the dark red one, it looked great on him.
“This autumn will be milder than others, you need these light shirts so you don't die of the heat.” You responded by fixing his collar and smiling at him: “Come on, you have six more to try, come on Love!”
🍁 Cold hands 🍁
“Your hands are frozen!” Ace always worries about you, I mean how do you lose heat even though you go out all covered up with sweaters, scarves, hats and gloves. During the lessons you take together Ace has to hold your hands to prevent them from becoming very cold.
“You know that I lose heat and that you gain it.” You said resting your head on his shoulder. Your university had a bad habit of not turning the heating on full blast, yet the rainy week was always the coldest.
“And yet I like your hands freezing when you run them over me.” Ace's voice was a whisper in your ear, accompanied by the gesture of taking your hand and placing it under his sweatshirt in direct contact with the skin of his abs. Suddenly a hot flash hit you out of the blue, you tried to stay calm so you wouldn't be discovered.
“You're a stove.”
“A stove that needs to be cooled. At the end of the lesson we go to the study room.” He whispered in your ear.
You definitely felt warmer now.
🍁 Steaming mugs 🍁
You had gone out early that morning, even though your nature would have led you to stay in bed for a while longer, but the sales for the furnishings of the house were starting and you wanted to go and buy something to start decorating it a little more and because the plates and glasses were starting to run out, you no longer lived alone in that house, Ace had almost moved in with you now, he was just missing one thing.
So you didn't think twice when you saw a giant orange mug on a shop cupboard next to a blue one. Orange and Blue are two complementary colors you remembered.
You didn't waste time, you bought them immediately and finished your shopping quickly to rush home to put everything away.
When Ace came back and saw the two steaming cups of hot chocolate and cream, decorated with cookies and homemade treats on the kitchen table he looked at you with eyes full of sweetness.
“Now you practically live with me, you have your toothbrush, your clothes are mixed with mine and you have the keys to the house, all you were missing was a cup for breakfast.” You said hugging him tightly to you, you would never let him go, not after he had entered your heart like that and made it his own. Ace held you tightly to him, he had never felt so good in that moment. He lifted you up and filled you with kisses not letting you go for any reason, he had finally found someone who would never abandon him and who was accepting him for who he was.
🍁 Scary movie marathons 🍁
You've never liked scary movies, the nightmares you get aren't normal, and you don't sleep for three days when you see one. But all of Ace's adopted brothers love having scary movie marathons and that's why they brought you in. Even little Luffy is braver than you and he watches them without any problems while eating his popcorn.
You can't watch them, not even the ones produced by Disney, in your opinion those are even more terrifying. For this reason Ace has organized it in the following way: You holding him and Luffy sitting on your lap. You were able to follow the film calmly, covering your eyes with Ace's hand when the scene became too scary, even if Luffy told you about it and everyone started laughing...
Then you had to go to the bathroom because you drank too much coke, and because everyone needed a break, it was the third movie in a row you'd seen and you had to order pizzas.
You rinsed your face and walked out of the bathroom, meeting Luffy down the hall as he grabbed his favorite hat from his room and asked you to wait for him.
Once the child returned you walked towards the living room, unaware that someone was following you in the shadows.
It was a matter of moments, the light went off and on again a couple of times while you were walking down the corridor, what's more it was raining and the sound of the rain distracted you for those few seconds, you approached the window to see if there were any flashes on the horizon and the moment the light went away again and then reappeared you saw the figure behind you from the reflection in the window.
You whipped around to stand in front of Luffy to hide him from the black figure who possessed a disturbing voice and a blood-soaked knife.
You screamed, picked up Luffy - because the little straw hat was going to hit the monster - and ran down the stairs with tears in your eyes as it chased you.
Ace was under the stairs and caught you in time before you fell to the floor, you closed your eyes and a familiar laugh made you instinctively turn around.
Satch had taken off his mask and was laughing out loud, only to be hit by Marco and Izou and scolded.
You were shaking in Ace's arms and had tears in your eyes, your boyfriend got even more angry at his older brother, he and Luffy chased him around the house to teach him a lesson while Izou took you to get something warm to drink in the kitchen to relax your nerves.
Ace came back to you, hugging you and apologizing for what had happened.
“Don't worry, I'll sleep with you this evening and we beat Satch properly.” He said to reassure you.
“I want Luffy too.” You said as the little one came towards you to check on you. Ace didn't say anything, he knows that Luffy is a great nightmare buster and seeing that you love him so much warms his heart.
🍁 Home-cooked meals 🍁
If there's one thing you like to make, it's your family's homemade recipes. Your mom sent you Grandma's cookbook and now you're flipping through it with Ace. your grandmother wrote those recipes by hand, meticulously noting all the steps and tips that she acquired over time.
“This seems to be good.” She said Ace pointing to a recipe that included figs. She knew they were your favorite fruit and that you would eat them endlessly.
“Unfortunately, however, we no longer have figs, they no longer sell them in the supermarket, their season is coming to an end.” You replied, they look at the bruschetta that could be made for lunch, or the jam or the savory dishes or even other desserts.
“Who told you we have to get them at the supermarket.” You looked at Ace a little worried when he dialed Satch's number - despite the horror evening you forgave him - and when half an hour later the person concerned showed up at your house with a basket full of figs and everything you needed to do your grandmother's desserts and recipes.
“Satch, are you staying with us for dinner?” You asked carrying the basket into the kitchen.
“Actually the others are arriving too. Even Father wants to try your grandmother's recipes." The brunette replied carrying two more baskets of Figs, Ace had more in his hand.
You didn't wonder where they got them from, you smiled again because you know that was Ace's plan.
“I know you love cooking homemade meals as a family.” Your boyfriend said, kissing you lightly as the doorbell rang again, “These are the others, Luffy can't wait to get cooking.”
🍁 Scented candles 🍁
Ace had noticed that your mood was a bit down lately, the period of ongoing tests wasn't at all easy at university, especially when he knew that your professors were very rigid and expected mind-boggling projects. He helped you as best he could when he heard you repeat yourself or when you had to do a presentation or a practical project.
So as soon as he saw that mega set of orange, cinnamon and vanilla scented candles he had a great idea.
You heard a knock on the door of your study, you hadn't gotten up for four hours you noticed and when you told Ace he could come in but you didn't hear the door open you got weirded out. So without wasting time you left the room only to notice a lot of red rose petals on the carpet creating a trail towards the bathroom.
You went to investigate, then opened the door and noticed the atmosphere that your boyfriend had created in your bathroom: the heater was on and had warmed the air, the water in the tub was hot and steaming and full of foam and then there was 'there were candles, the candles were lit and released a very good scent of citrus, cinnamon and vanilla and there were also rose petals in the tub.
Ace leaned his chin on your shoulder and kissed your neck: “Come on, let's take a nice hot bath.” He said placing his warm hands on your hips.
You undressed each other and entered the hot tub, you leaned against his chest and enjoyed all the cuddles and attention he was giving you: not only had he taken the candles but also the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel matched.
“Thanks Ace, I really needed that.” You said turning to him and kissing him passionately.
“Anything to see you happy.” The dark-haired man replied, kissing him back.
For that evening you could do without studying, you had your eye on a body oil to put on after the shower.
🍁 Bear hugs 🍁
Ace was always ready to react to any situation, he had faced some rough and tumble during his life, but he certainly couldn't expect to be welcomed into the house by you and Luffy dressed in bear pajamas, which also included the matching hood.
You jumped on him once he entered the house and you all burst out laughing and Ace hugged you tight, so tight.
You were so lovely.
“We have pajamas for you too.” Luffy said running to get him. While Ace continued to kiss you.
“You're such a cute little bear.” He told you, kissing your forehead, then his gaze fell on your neckline and he noticed something that he liked even more.
“This little teddy bear will get plenty of honey tonight.” You whispered in his ear as Luffy arrived in Ace's costume.
Your boyfriend smirked as he went to change followed by his little brother. “Get ready, this bear wants a lot of honey.” He told you as he took off his shirt and thinking of all the ways he could make Luffy as tired as possible so you could have the whole evening to yourself.
So now on his lock screen there are the three of you all dressed up as a family of bears, but in your private chat there was you in the background with a copper colored lace suit and honey covering your breasts.
Grinning, Ace texted you that he was going to buy some honey that was out of stock.
🍁 Coffee shop dates 🍁
Going out in autumn meant only one thing, calling all your friends to go and have a hot and steaming drink to be in company, laugh and joke.
Ace had a commitment at university and would arrive later, but luckily he had one of your closest friends to keep you company. Yamato had managed to free herself from commitments with her family and had immediately run to the cafeteria, crushing you in a hug that never ended. You hadn't seen each other for three months and you started chatting about everything that had happened, until the waitress came by to ask you if you wanted something and while your friend was ordering a pumpkin pie and a hot tea you he only asked for tea.
“I haven't been so well lately.” You told her as you sweetened your cinnamon tea.
“After all the desserts you made, I believe it!” Yamato replied, regretting not having been able to taste them.
“It will be as you say and I also gained weight, ugh starting today we're going on a diet.” You said as you saw Ace arriving with your entire company of friends. He too was happy to see Yamato again after a long time and while he went to order for him.
“Aren't you pregnant?” Yamato asked you in a low tone of voice, explaining that everything you had had coincided with a pregnancy.
“I don't think so, we were always careful.” You responded as you saw your boyfriend walking back with the others and giving Yamato a look that you would talk about it later, even if you were skeptical. Ace had sat next to you with a steaming cup of hot chocolate and cream and you had changed the subject, Yamato had given you a look as if to say to get checked and then started joking with the others, while Ace held you close self.
🍁 Bonfire night 🍁
“If you're that sick, let's not go.” Ace had been categorical. Since that morning you have been nauseous and your head is heavy, you almost fell down the stairs.
“Ace I must have caught a cold, a Tachipirina and I'm fine.” You said while you were drinking tea instead of coffee, it was the only thing that made you feel good: "And then this evening all our friends are here and Yamato also managed to free herself for this night." It was the most beautiful part when the bonfires were lit for barbecues all together on the evening of the Autumn equinox and you would go there.
In the end Ace had to give in to your stubbornness, but at least he won the debate regarding a medical examination to be done, you had been too ill lately and this worried him.
When you arrived everyone was happy to see you, they had thought that until the last moment you couldn't come and finally you started making bonfires, Yamato stayed next to you the whole time at Ace's request, you might not have felt nauseous anymore, but the dizziness was still present.
“Eventually I'll go get some blood tests, maybe it's something missing.” You said to Yamato as you prepared the skewers to cook and Ace helped start the fire.
“If needed, I can hold Luffy for you.” She said your friend nodding to Ace that he was okay.
Your boyfriend worried a little too much.
“Did you manage to eat anything?” He asked you with a mug of beer in his hand and sitting next to you, he smelled like embers, even if he stung your nose it was a smell that didn't bother you.
“Yes, I ate something calm Ace.” You replied taking a sip of his beer and grimacing, you usually liked the beer he had.
“Mhm, my tastes are altered.” You said as you leaned against him and watched the fire dance in front of you. Ace held you close to him as you slowly fell asleep lulled by the sound of the chatter of the people dear to you and the warmth of the bonfire.
🍁 Pillow forts 🍁
Ace was a good, amazing older brother who managed to satisfy Luffy's requests in every way. So you weren't shocked when you saw the living room of old Newgate's house transformed into a battlefield with trenches and forts built with cushions and all the foster brothers - even Father - playing war.
You had gone out to get blood drawn, you were only gone for an hour and all this had happened.
You burst out laughing when you saw everyone appear with improvised helmets and helmets and pillows of all kinds to throw as weapons. In short, where did they come from?
But what made you laugh the most was the moment when Izo and Satch took you hostage to make Ace and Luffy's team lose. Needless to say, the two brothers jumped into the fray to pick you up while Marco and Whitebeard laughed heartily.
In the end, many more pillows flew than expected, but nothing broke.
Luffy fell asleep on you, while the others cleaned up the mess that was created.
“It was to keep Luffy calm, he heard us talking about your blood tests and he got worried.” He said Ace then sitting next to you, “How did they go? When will you have the results?” He asked, stroking your hair.
“They went well, Yamato didn't give me a single moment of peace. I'll have them in a couple of days.” You responded by leaning on Ace, the environment of the pillow fort was so comfortable that you felt protected, Ace was there to protect you.
🍁 Thunderstorms 🍁
The first flash had torn the sky and blown you both into the air. Then the downpour started and the force with which the rain hit the windows of your room was enough to keep you awake.
You hugged Ace, unable to sleep anymore. Neither of them liked times like those.
“Tomorrow we may not even go to university.” Ace said showing you the weather alert notification that had come from the university just then.
“It's better this way, tomorrow we had a full day until six in the afternoon.” You said as you got into a sitting position feeling a cramp in your stomach. You got up to go to the bathroom to put away that evening's dinner. Ace behind you holding your hair and rubbing your back.
“Still with this nausea?” He was worried, the tests were slow in arriving and your nausea showed no signs of disappearing.
“Ace will be the period maybe, don't worry I'm not even losing weight.” You told him after rinsing your mouth and tidying up the bathroom.
Another bolt of lightning had illuminated the room and set off the alarms of some cars.
“Text Sabo to see how he, Koala and Luffy are doing.” You had said as you made sure everything was in order in the living room.
“Look at them, all three of them are sleeping in the big bed.” Ace showed you the photo and you smiled.
Other notifications arrived from the other family group and you laughed when you saw what was written. There were those who were taking the oars and the boat.
You got back into the bed, with Ace massaging your stomach to give you some relief: "Do you have your period?" He asked you deep in thought.
“In a couple of weeks why?”
“So, I didn't remember when you were supposed to come.” He replied, smiling at you and leaving a kiss on your cheek.
The storm wouldn't let you sleep, you both knew it, so you both immediately came up with a good idea to pass the time.
🍁 Leaf piles 🍁
The real autumn had now arrived and the evidence was the leaves falling on your driveway. You had piled them up well, they waste the whole morning cleaning up the garden. In fact, you took advantage of the opportunity to prune the flowerbeds and spend time with your friends.
Kid and Law wasted no time competing to see who could remove the most, while Satch and Izo cleaned the gutters with Ace and Marco sat next to you while you repainted the chairs for the outside.
Luffy was arriving at that moment accompanied by Shanks and Makino. So you prepared a good cinnamon tea for everyone, catching Luffy and Ace in time before they threw themselves into the pile of dry leaves that had been collected, you had wasted the day tidying up the garden.
“So it doesn't show any signs of disappearing?” Makino had asked sitting next to you, it wasn't a mystery to anyone that your health wasn't the best at the moment and Ace had talked about it with the woman next to you to get some suggestions.
“No, there are days when I feel better, others when I can't even get up, not to mention the smells. Some perfumes I can't wear anymore.” You said, sipping the hot drink.
A notification from your phone had caught your attention, it was the test results.
Looking at them they all seem to be perfect, so it was quite strange, not even Law was strange looking at them from the phone.
Ace was behind you, he noticed your sad look, so he picked you up and ran towards the large pile of leaves you had collected and jumped into them. You yelped in surprise as the others joined you and you laughed.
Whatever the problem was you would figure it out and Ace was amazing at cheering you up.
🍁 Sharing blankets 🍁
Sharing blankets was a concept that didn't apply easily to the two of you. Or at least you tried to do it the right way, but everything was impossible. Ace moved during the night and his blankets were thrown all over you.
You had all tried them, but there was no way to share them well.
“Yamato moves too much.” You said while you were at the supermarket with your friend.
“Then throw him out of bed.” She had replied, using her height to reach for the pumpkin mixture on the top shelf.
You laughed out loud, thinking that Yamato was right in the end, then you received a notification from Ace showing you a Pail blanket with sleeves that he had just gotten with the message: maybe we can sleep better with this.
You laughed and headed towards the registers to pay, but not before buying some things you wanted at the last moment.
“You should take a test.” Yamato had been trying to convince you for days, ever since you told him about the nausea and so without thinking twice she went into the pharmacy and took a whole pack and put it in your bag. There was no way to argue and in the end you returned home with Ace having joined you shortly after.
“Ace learn to move less, or I would hurt my friend!” She told him Yamato grabbing his cheeks and Ace had responded in kind saying it wasn't her fault.
You said goodbye shortly after and returned home with a giant family pizza to eat in front of the TV. You felt like it as soon as you saw the flyer and so you were able to experiment with the new blanket with sleeves and the pocket to put the remote controls.
Ace was good at choosing blankets so you could stay closer to him.
🍁 Rain showers 🍁
“I'm stuck at dad's house because of these stupid rain showers.” Ace hated being away from you, but in old Newgate's house the tip had collapsed and he and his brothers had gone to repair it, of course the beach didn't help and it was strong again.
“Come on, love, don't worry, it'll be over in a couple of hours.” You reassured him as you opened your bag to empty it. You saw the Test Yamato had given you and now looked at where to put it in the bathroom while you continued talking to Ace.
“Ace, I'll call you back in a moment…” You had abruptly ended the call due to the nausea you felt at that moment. Yet it wasn't early in the morning.
You looked at the test left on the nightstand and mentally called yourself stupid.
You were sure of it, you couldn't be.
The sound of the rain woke you up from your thoughts and that's why you told yourself that to pass the time you would do one.
And while the symbol appeared on the display along with the numbers that would tell you how old you were, you heard the door open and Ace run into the bathroom towards you, wet from head to toe and worried dead after you hadn't called him back.
“Love what happened?” Ace had leaned over to see what you had in your hand, fearing the worst when he suddenly saw you blanch.
“Oh it can't be!” You said turning to him with the positive test in your hand, “Wait it could be a false positive, let's do another one.” You said taking another test and throwing Ace out of the bathroom, yelling at him to get you some pear juice.
Five tests later you were now sure of it.
“It's three months.” You said looking down, now everything was taking a very specific turn.
Ace was next to you, looking at you with a look you couldn't decipher. You knew that he had fears of pregnancy, his mother had died from complications after giving birth and was then given up for adoption by his father, he had always felt guilty about this.
You never expected that he would hug you and whisper those words in your ear: "Don't think who knows what, we will keep him and raise him." His voice was broken by tears.
You both cried, a little happy and a little scared for what was about to await you. But you were happy that Ace wanted to start a family with you, despite the shadows of his past.
🍁 Log cabin 🍁
Gathering all your friends and family in the wooden cabin in the mountains was not easy, at all. It wasn't even easy to keep the secret until then. Because Makino and Yamato had suspected something.
Yet both of you are enjoying everyone's surprised faces.
“Your tests showed none of this.” Law looked at the ultrasound in his hand and passed it to the others. Kid would tease him for months.
“They sent the tests wrong, they confused them with those of another patient.” You responded as you picked Luffy up and pressed a kiss to his cheek. He was the most elated of all. Along with Shanks he couldn't stop laughing.
“Ahhhh how beautiful! I'm so happy for you!” Yamato was over the moon and couldn't stop hugging you. In the end she was right and didn't hold back from saying I told you so.
Satch had fainted, literally fainted on the floor as soon as he heard the news, while Izo and Marco and all of Ace's other adoptive brothers were complimenting the two of you. With lots of jokes that further cheered everyone up.
“Now I can become a grandfather!” Whitebeard laughed, clapping Ace loudly on the shoulder and insisting that you two should move in with him.
“Dad…” Ace couldn't feel his shoulder anymore, but he was happy.
Koala did nothing but cry with happiness and Sabo was overjoyed to become an uncle. The only one who remained perplexed was Grandpa Garp, despite everything the old man was happy for you, but he would have gladly killed his grandson and would have had a very long fist-fighting chat with him.
“Come on Grandpa Garp you have a chance to be an amazing great grandfather.” You told him, taking him by the arm and bringing him closer to the others, in the end he too started laughing and joking with everyone else.
“So is he male or female?” Luffy's curiosity had attracted everyone's attention.
“We'll find out at the next check.” Ace had responded to his little brother by picking him up. Needless to say, more than half the world would participate in that check and the betting would start, you were sure of it.
You and Ace were happy though, despite all the stress you went through in those days and seeing people give you so close to you cheered you up a lot.
“You're about to become parents, I can't do it.” Satch held the ultrasound and smiled.
And as Ace hugged you a new awareness grew in you.
You were happy to have found a boy like him.
You were happy that a new chapter in your life was about to begin.

Embrace of Dreams
Word count: 400+
Context: Ace helping you sleep
Tumblr media
Late at night, on the mighty deck of Whitebeard’s ship, the Moby Dick, you find yourself tossing and turning in your bed. The gentle rocking of the ship and the soft murmurs of the crew can’t lull you to sleep. Frustration gnaws at you, and you try everything to find rest, but sleep eludes you like a fleeting dream.
Just as you feel on the verge of giving up, a familiar knock sounds on your door. Your heart skips a beat as you hear the voice you long for, “Hey, you left these books out on the deck.”Ace, the spirited and warm-hearted member of the Whitebeard Pirates, stands in the doorway, holding a few scattered books in his hands. Before he can finish explaining, you interrupt him with a soft whine, “I can’t sleep, Ace.”
Ace arches an eyebrow, a playful smirk on his lips. “Can’t sleep, huh?” he teases, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “Do you want me to help you or something?” Your expression softens, and you look up at him with pleading eyes. “Maybe,” you admit shyly.
Without hesitation, Ace gives in to your request, laying down beside you on the bed and resting on his back. He opens his arms invitingly, silently inviting you to rest close to him. You hesitate for a moment, then snuggle up against his side, finding solace in his warm embrace. “Listen,” Ace whispers gently, placing your hand over his chest, right above his heart. “Focus on the rhythm of our heartbeats. Let them guide you into sleep.”
You close your eyes, your head nestled against Ace’s chest, feeling the steady thump of his heart beneath your palm. His heartbeats are like a soothing melody, calming your restless soul. You take a deep breath, feeling a sense of comfort you haven’t felt in a long time. Ace’s fingers lightly trace soothing circles on your back, and he feels your tense muscles slowly relax. His heart swells with affection for the person in his arms, and a gentle smile touches his lips.
As the minutes pass, you feel your body grow heavy with warmth and contentment. The closeness you share with Ace melts away your worries, and you can feel the tendrils of sleep wrapping around you. Ace looks down at you, his eyes softening as he watches you drift off to sleep. A blush creeps across his cheeks, but he can’t help but smile at the sight before him. He gently brushes a lock of hair away from your face, cherishing the peaceful expression on your features.
In the embrace of dreams, you find the comfort you have longed for. With Ace by your side, you feel safe and loved, the rhythmic beating of his heart becoming your lullaby.

Hello! I have a request. It's a reader X Ace from One Piece story. It shows the aftermath of Ace defeating Blackbeard and the reader caring for him as he recovers from his injuries. Ace didn't fight alone. The reader was at his side, and it changed history. The reader has the Crew Crew fruit, which has similarities with Bolo Betty's Kobu Kobu no Mi. They're empowered by, and empower others, by the depth and quality of their bonds. The connection they had with Ace pushed them both through to victory. The reader truly believes Ace can become pirate king, and is thankful to have the opportunity to save him, as he saved them in the past. Here's the song.
The Great War x Portgas D. Ace ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :
First of all, I just want to thank you for requesting this and trusting me with this beautiful idea. I apologise if it took a while - I literally got so lost in it. This was such a wonderful idea, so kudos to you! I hope this meets your expectations - I loved writing it and I love the idea of Ace being alive and well, loved and surrounded by people who cherish him. This felt like therapy, this boy deserves the world and I love him so very dearly. Enjoy!
1.6k words | gender neutral | usual one piece violence | mention of IVs and hospital stuff.
feel free to reblog, like, and leave a comment. i would very much appreciate it. if you enjoy my works, click here to read more or buy me a coffee.

Running your fingers through his raven locks, you watched as Ace rested by your side. If it wasn't for all the patches and bandages covering his body, it almost seemed like one of his usual peaceful naps. Yet, in the cold of Marco's hospital room, Ace continued his battle and this time, the only help you could give him was sleeping next to him in an uncomfortable chair waiting for him to wake up.
The battle with Blackbeard was one of the most atrocious battles the world had ever witnessed: for Ace, it meant everything. He would have either avenged his dear Pops or died trying - and no one could convince him otherwise. Blackbeard was the living representation of his failures - if only he had been a better son, a better commander, a stronger pirate.. things would have been different. Defeating him meant more than simple revenge: it was Ace's way to honour Whitebeard's legacy, it was Ace's way to remember all the friends and comrades who lost their lives to protect his. For this exact reason, Ace wanted to it alone; he didn't want to lose anyone else - not Marco, not you.
"This is not your fight."
He muttered in response when you and Marco explained your plan to him - you had meticulously studied Blackbeard's devil's fruit and history, you had traced his past routes and the most likely route his ship would have taken to reach the next poneglyph. But Ace didn't want to listen, he didn't want to put your lives at risk - he couldn't tolerate the mere idea of losing you, he didn't want you anywhere near the battlefield regardless of how strong you were.
The months that preceded the battle were intense. Ace trained relentlessly under Rayleigh's careful supervision, pushing his body to its limits and doing his best to awaken his devil fruit's power. When he wasn't training and his body ached from the strain it had to endure, Ace wanted nothing else that spending time with you. His rest days were his excuse to kidnap you from the rest of the crew - he wanted you all for himself, savouring every second he got to spend with you. Despite his confidence and training, he knew his enemy wouldn't be an easy one to face - Blackbeard had the blood of many on his hands, and Ace feared his could only add up to the list. When he wasn't training, blinded by rage and determination, a small part of Ace couldn't help but be afraid.
What if this fight was the big fiasco of his life? What if he wasn't able to defeat Blackbeard, wasting the life his loved ones have protected and traded with theirs? These questions pounded Ace's head constantly, they haunted his sleep and hammered his mind during the day. Ace could only feel peace when he was around you. With you around, Ace felt as if he could conquer the world. The first time he felt like this, you were drunkenly opening your hearts to one another.
"You'll be the king of pirates one day, Fire Fist. And I'll be there, first row."
You slurred, raising your beer to cheer it against his hat, as if it was his crown. That night, the blood in your veins was probably being replaced by the booze you and Ace had chucked down - yet, he knew your words were sincere. He knew you meant every word because as you pronounced them, it felt as if they were being directly engraved onto his heart. This was partly the reason why he decided to get Blackbeard's head - seeing the way you believed in him, the rush of adrenaline he felt every time you reminded him of the immense potential he had.
Drunken talks became slow afternoons in which you just enjoyed each others' company, casually lying in each other's arms and falling asleep in a bed that was way too small to hold two people. Waking up to you peacefully resting on his chest, sharing kisses behind the closed door of his room - these were all things Ace wasn't willing to risk.
"If I make it out alive, I swear I'll marry you."
He whispered in your ear as you softly snored the morning away, lying against his warm body.
Despite Ace's reprimands, you and Marco trained just as much as he did. Your help could have been decisive in battle, and regardless of Ace's approval, you would have done everything in your power to fight by his side - after all, your help could have been decisive. Up until then, you always believed that your devil fruit was useless - it didn't give you any special powers nor any type of supernatural strength. It was hard to really grasp the utility of a devil fruit that strengthened others and not its main user. Your devil fruit wasn't one you could really rely on - you had noticed how its effects were not linear or equal, the boost you were able to give was always spread unevenly among your fellow comrades.
As with any other devil fruit, you had to learn by doing - uncovering any underlying functionality of your peculiar power and eventually awaken the devil fruit. So when the day of the battle finally arrived, you weren't exactly ready - of course, your skills on the battle ground were impeccable, but you weren't sure that would be enough.
"We'll have your back, whether you like it or not." Marco said to Ace, shrugging his shoulders. Before Ace could argue against it, you and Marco had already jumped off the ship, making your way into the island.
The horrors witnessed during the battle between Ace and Blackbeard were for the history books - their fight was intense, infinite, and had immense repercussion on everything and everyone around them. No type of training could have prepared Ace's body to the pain and strain he had to endure, punch after punch, every low sweep and unfair move after the other. The fate of the battle seemed to be decided when Ace's fire became weaker and weaker, the powers of his dear devil fruit slipping out of his control and not responding to him anymore - allowing every blow to land exactly where it was meant to, slowing his movements and nullifying his attacks.
Something shifted inside him when he finally heard your voice, screaming his name at the top of your lungs. Ace's back was now against the floor, his throat giving up under Blackbeard's heavy boot pressing against his neck.
"ACE! PLEASE!" You screamed again, your voice breaking as you watched him helplessly laying on the floor, air leaving his lungs as Blackbeard pressed his whole weight against his airways. A shiver run down your spine as your felt your devil fruit powers rushing through you - a shot of adrenaline running all over your body. Marco quickly glared at you in amusement, immediately regaining his strengths and jumping into the battle once again - even his phoenix looked brighter.
What happened afterwards felt like a blur - Ace's flames responding to him once again, flickering and roaring against Blackbeard. In moments that felt like an eternity, a new age of piracy began.
Winning didn't come without a price, and after the sudden rush of adrenaline and strength that allowed Ace to defeat Blackbeard, he fell to his knees, letting his body crash against the cold soil underneath him. The state of his wounds was more critical than imagined, so when you and Marco finally reached him, you feared there wouldn't be nothing you could do to save him. Despite the temporary recovery of powers, even Marco was now feeling dreaded, exhausted from the battle - and his healing abilities were simply not enough.
"That was you." Marco finally spoke, lifting Ace's body and carrying it on his shoulders.
"Don't tell Ace, but this is your win."
Marco giggled, making his way towards the ship.
"That sudden rush of energy.. I've never seen Ace fight like that - a man in his state could never bounce back the way he did. Even I regained a lot of energy, and that scream wasn't definitely for me.. sounds like something your devil fruit could do."
Marco continued, noticing the confused look on his face.
Ace's recovery was slow - he had been asleep for more than a week now, always under the careful eyes of his trusted doctor and friend. His entire body was wrapped in bandages, IVs and all sorts of tubes coming out of his arms to keep him stable - and he was. Marco kept repeating that his vitals looked fine, but Ace just didn't wake up. So you stayed by his side, spending each day next to his hospital bed, waiting for him to come back to you.
"Hey.." Ace whispered, his words quickly being interrupted by a cough. Hearing Ace's voice almost made you jump from your seat, the biggest smile forming on your lips as your eyes quickly scanned over his face.
"Hi."
Was all you managed to say, trying to fight back the tears that were already clouding your vision. Taking his hands into yours, you left a soft kiss on his knuckles.
"How's my pirate king doing?"
You teased, causing Ace to giggle in response. Freeing his hand from yours, he quickly reached for your face, leaving a gentle caress on your cheek. A shiver ran down your spine as you leaned into Ace's touch, melting against the palm of his hand.
"I gotta ask you something." Ace smirked, the slyest of smiles painted on his lips as flashback of that morning ran just before his eyes. Proposing on an hospital bed wasn't ideal nor romantic, but to Ace, it felt right. He vowed he would always be yours if he survived the war against Blackbeard - and now that he did, there was only one thing left to do.

a/n: Oh no I've fallen into another fanfic and can't get up.....
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
It’s with a harsh bang on her door and a steel-toned command from her mother that Orion begrudgingly opened her eyes on her eighteenth birthday.
Not that it mattered, per say. To her, it was just another day.
But, she mused while shuffling out of bed, it’s my day to run the stall.
That was enough to put a pep in her step.
She quickly ran a brush through her hair, wincing at the tangles scattered throughout the long strands. The girl rushed to get dressed knowing her parents wouldn’t be happy if she wasn’t out of the house before sunrise.
Her mother was sitting at the kitchen table when Orion finally hurried downstairs, placing the newspaper dutifully into her father’s waiting hand.
“Lots of pirates in town lately,” her father stated, barely sparing a glance at the person he’s addressing.
Not that it’s needed, they’re all aware his words are meant for her.
“Don’t allow them to haggle,” he lowered the paper, throwing her a condescending stare, as if he were speaking to a toddler. His daughter bit her tongue, pushing down the fury that builds when he looks at her like that. “Pirates pay full price. Hell, charge them higher too,” he sneered. “If you can manage.”
The villagers of Torappu Island didn’t view pirates too fondly, apart from Orion. She and her brother had a fascination with them ever since meeting a well-known crew in their earlier days, long before her brother had gone missing in the sea, before her parents looked at her with contempt, before she tamped down her burning desire to escape to somewhere, anywhere, as long as it was off this island.
Her eye twitched just a small amount, something she was proud of given her innate desire to talk back. She dipped her head. “Yes father,” she responded in a monotone voice, careful to mask her irritation behind a dry piece of bread. Hurriedly, she swallowed and allowed her eyes to flicker towards the framed photo adorning the wall, the only of its kind in the house. The girl silently bid her late brother’s portrait farewell, knowing he would no doubt be rolling his eyes at their father’s tone if he were here.
With a thump her backpack settled against her shoulder blades, bouncing as she left the house. She offered a muted goodbye to her parents that went unanswered, not that she expected them to say anything anyways.
No one mentions her birthday.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
The walk to the town square was pleasant, all things considered.
Sure, it meant she had to push a cart full of metal items up a hill, but a breeze blew her hair gently, offering a reprieve from the heat that was sure to creep up later this afternoon. A smile graced Orion’s face when she remembered she won’t have to tiptoe around her parents until later tonight.
She was free, at least for a handful of hours.
Torappu Island wasn’t a hidden gem, a slice of paradise, or a particularly interesting place of note. It was an island in the West Blue that got business from travelers passing through, simple as that. The Navy didn’t patrol here as often, but had a base further east.
The town square that held the market was plain with a few dozen stalls. The teen arrived when the sun still hadn't risen yet, giving polite greetings to the other merchants she passed.
Her family’s stall was in the middle of the plaza, settled between a fishmonger and a tarot reader. Orion opened it promptly, pulling out the metal goods her father expertly created (something her brother used to help with) and laid them out in the exact way she’d been taught.
She ran her hands over one of the newer crafted swords with oil, a process she’d done thousands of times. It’s better to polish before selling, the girl repeated to herself. It’ll make the blades shine brighter to potential buyers.
The first half of the day went by quickly, and far too easily. She should have been wary.
More travelers than usual were flowing in and out of the market; Orion felt like she could hardly breathe in between flashing polite smiles to them all.
“Looks like Mommy and Daddy let you out of the dungeon for the day.”
She sighed.
The day had been going too well, it seemed. Tango, a tall teen who had a face littered with acne and an unfortunately beautiful smile, was smirking at her.
“Horatio,” she called out sweetly to the old man running the fish stall. “Your fish seem to be incredibly potent today.” Her nose wrinkled as she took a few sniffs, turning towards the teen who had an intense pleasure in tormenting her. “Oh wait, never mind!” Orion widened her eyes in false surprise, giving a sneer back. “It’s just him.”
She clocked a group of loud, rowdy men exiting the bar a little ways away. Potential customers.
Orion needed the idiot to skedaddle quickly if she wanted to make a sale.  “Please do us all a favor and leave,” the girl sent a glare to the couple of boys flanking him, waving them away. “No one needs you three spreading whatever disease you’ve got going on to the rest of us.”
Predictably, Tango scowled, his hand covering one of his cheeks in embarrassment. “It’s acne and it’s normal !” His hand went for a pistol on his waist, something he’d threatened her with at least a dozen times this year already. Though she doubted he’d actually do anything, the spoiled brat was too pompous to ever learn how to properly use one, her right hand hadn’t left the short dagger slung on her waist once since he’d arrived. She wasn’t totally confident he wouldn’t accidentally shoot her. “At least my parents love me.”
“Ouchie,” she drawled mockingly, rolling her eyes. He’d only used that taunt for the past eight years. “Tango, put that down, we both know you’ve got no clue how to use it,” a delicate sneer settled on her face. “It’s more pathetic when you act like you can.”
The boy scoffed, unaware of the group of men coming to a stop behind him. Orion wasn’t sure how, the men had an overwhelming aura about them.
He waved the pistol. “What’s pathetic is pretending like the whole island doesn’t know how unwanted you are. What was it your father told mine, just yesterday?” he tilted his head in thought.
She braced herself, knowing whatever it was was likely true. His father was the mayor, who had nothing better to do than gossip. And Tango had nothing better to do than spread that gossip. “Akio was the only child they wanted?”
Duh, she thought with another eyeroll. “Is that all?”
She glanced at the group of men again, aware that they had paused to observe their interaction. It wasn’t everyday you saw teens threatening each other, she guessed.
“Hm.” Clearly expecting a different reaction, Tango continued after a brief falter. “He also said you’re the reason he’s dead,” he smiled wickedly.
Her grip on the hilt tightened.
It didn’t go unnoticed. “And you’re, well, dead weight to them now,” the three boys laughed. “‘Useless’ is the word he used. Even told my father how he wishes it was you who had died instead. Said your mother can’t look at you without thinking of him.”
Regretfully, she felt her right eye twitch. It’s nothing you didn’t already know .
It wasn't like it was a secret.
“And,” he added as a final blow, finally holding the gun steady. “He said he needed to get rid of the extra mouth to feed. Asked if I’d be interested in marryin’ you so he could stop seeing you every day.”
Her face screwed up in disgust at the thought, too disturbed about the last part to be hurt by the rest.
“Naturally my father declined.” Tango looked just as repulsed, eyeing her reaction. “But it pains me to see someone so desperate to get rid of their child.” With a slight fumble of the holster he finally pointed the gun at her and yanked back the hammer. “Why don’t I help them out—”
“I’ve told you before,” Orion had her dagger pulled out in record time, flipping the blade towards her and knocking the gun out of Tango’s hand with a bruising hit to his wrist with the hilt, careful to mind the sharp edge. “You don’t pull a gun out unless you’re going to use it,” she stated flatly, ignoring the incredibly amused grins the two men in front of the group wore as she flipped her weapon back over properly.
It was with a fleeting glance after they laughed loudly, drawing the attention of the teens that she noticed they had their hands placed on their weapons too.
“‘Little Miss is correct. You know what Captain says about pistols,” the taller man said to the others. Older, if the gray curls tied back were any indication. She found herself vaguely fascinated by the large, X-shaped scar crossing over the left side of his face. “And there’s that old saying of why boys like pulling on girls’ pigtails.”
“This seems to be a little more than a schoolboy crush, Benn,” the blonde next to him said, hand on his own pistol with a glare settling on the boys.
“I’d rather throw myself into the sea,” Orion spat to the delight of the older patrons, twirling her dagger and returning it to its place on her waist.
“You've done enough to disturb the peace, boys,” the lady who did tarot readings next to her finally said, cackling as she fussed with her cards. “It's time to return home with your tail between your legs. The sands of fate don’t wait for anybody and I need to make a livin’. Can't do it with this ruckus.”
Tango flushed at the amount of eyes now on him. He turned to leave and cradled his wrist as his eyes burned into Orion’s. “This isn’t over, bitch.”
She waved him along, unwilling to sigh a breath of relief until the trio were gone. It was an easy decision to shove the emotions over what he had said deep down.
“Now that that’s over, what do we have here, little lady?” The men peered down at her stall, eyeing the goods that were still available.
She allowed another wary moment to pass before slipping back into the saleswoman persona she enjoyed utilizing while selling.
“The best metal on the island,” she replied confidently. Her father might be awful, but the craftsman made some damn good swords.
“Ahh,” the man with the scar hummed.  “Makes sense why you know your way around a blade.”
She snorted. “Only know enough to sell them.” The girl counted six men in total hovering around her table, and though she kept an easygoing smile on her face, her hand was back on the hilt of her dagger. “And to keep the idiots at bay.”
“That so?” He noticed too, smiling around the cigarette that hung precariously hanging from his mouth. “Captain’s been looking for a new blade, been a while since we’ve stopped here,” he turned around to glance at the group, missing the way her eyes widened at the word.
Captain.
Pirates. She forced herself to remain still, eyes flickering suspiciously between the men to make sure none of them tried to snag something without paying. There’d been two such cases of it today already and she sorely didn’t want to clean up blood again.
“Captain around?” the man asked the blonde who shrugged, choosing instead to look closer at a short blade.
“How much does this one go for, lass?” He picked the cutlass up.
“80,000 beri,” she answered evenly, offering a saccharine smile when he sputtered at the price, setting it back down. Father did say he wanted her to upsell, after all. She’d keep the extra since he couldn’t keep his mouth shut around the Mayor… again . “It might sound high, but you won’t find quality like this anywhere else in the Grand Line. I guarantee it.” At his stare, she gestured to a bowl of keychains she made when she wasn’t working or sleeping. “I’ll throw in one of those for free.”
“Little miss is right,” a warm voice interrupted the man’s stammering. The group parted for him easily. “Bought a sword from here a few years ago and been good to me.” A man, tan and toned, if the chest peeking out from his barely buttoned dark blue shirt was any indication, stepped in front of her and smiled so brightly that Orion had to blink a few times. Maybe they’re not pirates, after all.
No, she realized after her eyes finally made their way up to the man’s hair, so red it rivaled the tuna the old man next to her was selling. They are.
“Might even be the same stand,” the man, the captain , looked at her with a curious eye, flickering between the sign above her head and her face. He leaned in far, far too close for her comfort, grinning all the while. “Pretty sure you’re the same lass who helped sell it, if my memory serves me right.”
“Sorry,” The teen raised an eyebrow, flicking the dirty blonde bangs out of her face. She leaned back, willing her blush away; she wasn’t used to pirates smelling so good. “But who are you?” It didn’t matter that she already knew; it’d be hard for anyone to forget that hair.
Her question made him pout though, causing the small group to erupt in laughter, the other men elbowing him in amusement before wandering off, leaving just the captain and the graying man. Benn, she recalled. “She’s a delight, this one.”
Captain Shanks of the Red Hair Pirates introduced himself with a confident tone and a firm handshake, eyes twinkling as he insisted that he definitely remembered her from all those years ago.
“You asked so many questions about pirates I thought you and your brother would become one of us one day!” he smiled again. She couldn’t detect any malice or teasing in his tone as her cheeks burned at the memory, eyes prickling a bit.
“Yeah, well,” Orion swallowed. “So did we.” There’s a hint of wistfulness present in her statement, but she shakes it off, forcing a tight smile onto her face. She has to meet a quota, after all. “So what brings you to Torappu?”
Captain Shanks didn’t ask more about her brother. “Just passing through. West Blue’s always fun, but we’re headed back to the Grand Line. Pirate things to do, and all,” he winked.
He needs to stop that. Orion felt her face getting hot again.
Benn rolled his eyes.
“What’s it like,” she eventually responded when her cheeks weren’t as hot, unaware that her voice had settled to a whisper. “Being a pirate?”
Both pairs of eyes lit up at the question, looking at each other in amusement. “You asked that before, all those years ago,” the captain leaned to one side, humming and placing a hand on his hip. Orion noticed faintly that he only had one arm now. “Didn't you?”
“No, it was…” She shook her head, her mind floating to the memory before responding faintly, if only a tad forlorn. “My brother did.”
He gave her a gentle smile, having caught on to her thinly-veiled grief. “Being a pirate,” Captain Shanks said, eyes flickering to the girl’s blade. “Is the freest one can be.”
“You said that last time too.” Orion is suddenly overwhelmed by the same wave of emotions that she felt all those years ago. The ones that pushed in her chest and pulled at her heart.
With a sigh she bottled it up inside again, unwilling to think about it except for in the privacy of her blankets later. “So,” swallowing hard, the girl taps her fingers on the table in an anxious fashion, gesturing to the sword the pirate wore. “What’s wrong with it?”
“Huh?” He blinked, looking down in surprise at the change in topic. “Oh, nothing!” the man exclaimed. “It’s still just as perfect as it was the day I got it.” With a charming grin he unsheathed it, handing it to her to inspect.
She mused at the craftsmanship of the blade, agreeing that her father’s work still held up.
Not that she’d ever tell him that.
Carefully, she handed it back, shocked the pirate captain even gave it to her in the first place. He could kill me without it, Orion thought. “What are you looking for then?”
His expression seemed introspective. “Something new,” he finally answered. She felt a shift in his gaze, and his eyebrows furrowed a bit before the worry was wiped away, eyes flickering to his friend and back at her. The same teasing lilt colored his tone again. “You got anything shiny?”
It succeeded in making her laugh, and she willingly showed him several of the newer wares her father made, the freshly polished ones from this morning.
-----------------------
The bundles of beri bouncing in her bag brought a satisfied smile to Orion’s face as she strolled home the way she came, wondering how quiet of an evening she could have if she decided to skip dinner and head straight to bed when she got back.
“Ow!” Her thoughts were interrupted by a sharp, sudden pain on her head. She looked down, hand flying up to where a rock had just been hurtled into her.
Her eyes widened at the sight of it at her feet. Quickly, she bent down to pick it up. Whipping her head to the direction the rock came from, she swore. A little over fifty feet away, a large group of teenagers were sprinting full force at her, holding an array of weapons.
It took all of two seconds to recognize who was smiling wickedly at her and only one to choose whatever punishment abandoning her father’s cart would land her in over letting the group catch up to her. Hiking her bag up higher, she promptly tossed the cart aside, turned to beam the rock back and sprinted away, chancing a look behind her to see if she’d made contact. “Shit!”
Was that a pitchfork? She couldn’t stop the string of curses if she wanted to, her heartbeat thumping wildly at the ambush.
Tango had somehow gathered his entire gang to hunt her, it seemed. He shouted as her rock nailed him in the forehead (she snickered) and she couldn’t stop the insult loftily thrown over her shoulder if she tried, the pride from landing a hit while so distracted too great. It didn’t help that her usually acute awareness of when to keep her mouth shut never worked around the asshole. “Shouldn’t you be washing your face or something?”
She didn’t have to see his reaction as she bounded across the moist grass and trampled flowers. The boy simply roared. “You’ve pissed me off for the last time! I’m gonna kill you!”
“Really,” Orion huffed, adjusting the bag on her shoulder and willing herself not to trip down the steep hill.  As if he wasn’t the one who threw it first!
Another wave of rocks soared over her, blending in with the setting sky against her silhouette frantically running home.
It’s her own fault, really.
She was lucky looking back one time without stumbling. It didn’t seem her luck extended to another.
Tango’s face was bright red, his eyes unable to hide how fucking murderous he was. It seemed he was serious this time.
His eyes were the last thing she saw before gravity laughed at her, and she fell hard.
Dammit. The world is a blur of round chaos as she went rolling down the hill, finally coming to a stop roughly against a pile of boulders near one of the cliffs.
It only took seconds for them to catch up to her.
“Happy birthday,” Tango sang mockingly, the bright smile he had that could be handsome if he weren’t so terribly horrible of a person blinding her.
It’s with a faint and stupid thought while her head flops back against the earth that Orion thinks she could be flattered that her bully is the only person who remembered her birthday. As it were, however, he said it while kicking her ( hard ) from her spot on the ground, so she decided to not think too highly of the action.
“Or should I say, happy death day?”
"Clever." An eye roll happened on its own accord. A handful of kicks are given all over her body in return.
Orion wheezed.
“Grab her,” Tango ordered. The others do as he says, all too eager to obey him.
Orion’s eye was rapidly swelling, she could feel it. There was a mild panic rising in her now; their disputes often ended with the girl fleeing to her house or running until he got tired.
This was different.
The boys drug her to the cliffside, the waves of the sea crashing far, far below them. Hundreds of feet below them.
She shuddered.
Alarm bells rang loud in her head. Orion knew she wouldn't be able to get away easily this time. Her right hand twitched, aching to grab her dagger and stab it through the boy’s stupid mouth but suddenly and painfully it was twisted back with a quick order. The weapon was seized and dangled in front of her.
Her bully knew all of her tells, after all.
“Here,” Tango sneered after she rose painfully on her knees, fully prepared to tackle him as a last resort.
The group surrounded her on all sides; the only open space was at her back, where the edge was. Full and complete desperation filled her lungs.
There was no way she could barrel through them all.
“A birthday present.” A dark orb was tossed onto her lap carelessly. “Eat it.”
“What?” Orion couldn’t stop the question, looking at the object with a faint groan, her ribs would no doubt be bruised in the morning, if she miraculously lived until then. “Not hungry, thanks.”
“Eat it,” Tango repeated, poison laced in his tone as he gestured to the cliff’s edge that was kissing her heels. Her heart plummeted. “Or jump into the sea.”
She licked her lips, dry from the unforgiving salty air. Finally, she looked up at him. “Why?”
“Today was the last straw,” he spat. “You’ve embarrassed me for years.”
“You’ve tormented me for years!” she yelled back indignantly, hair whipping around angrily in the wind. “I never did anything to you!”
“You lived!”
She couldn’t stop the laugh if she tried.
“He was my friend,” Tango snarled, his voice breaking a little in a way that she’d laugh at if he wasn’t about to kill her. "Everyone will be happier with you gone."
“You barely knew him.” Exasperated, she locked her gaze with him. “He was my brother.” Unwilling to indulge him any longer, she rolled her eyes. “If I jump into the sea,” Orion raised an eyebrow, sounding less terrified than she felt at the thought. “I’ll pull you in with me.”
“Crazy bitch.” Armed with the decade of memories that confirm she would, in fact, do that, they all took a step back.
Looking down, she briefly considered the object he tossed at her. It was an odd thing.
“Poison,” the whispered glee of the kids behind her tormentor carried over to her in the wind. She can barely hear them over the waves below. Briefly, Orion noticed her hands were trembling. “It’s poison.”
She should have recognized the swirls on it, but the object, a fruit, maybe, was so dark she could hardly make them out.
She would have recognized it, too, if only she hadn’t been utterly terrified at the threat of leaping off the side of a hundred-foot cliff. Her brother used to give her lectures on them when they were younger after all, eager for them both to find one and explore the oceans together.
It was a pretty easy decision, all things considered. She had a better chance of making it home poisoned than in pieces from the rocks below.
Besides, she really, really hated heights.

She
1: The Cowgirl
Portgas D. Ace x Jeane (OFC; Feel free to change to “Y/N”)
Suggestive.
Tumblr media
Jeane and Ace arrived at the club room first.
It was an old storage room the size of an average classroom so there was plenty of space even with the old books, shelves, and sofas stacked inside.
Intrigued by the man's hat in front of her, she gets up from her seat while Ace leans back on one of the sofas. Ace follows her movements as she gently removes his cowboy hat and puts it on.
"You love this hat, don't you?" she said as she stared at Ace with her dark orbs, her voice low. Unlike most, her voice was deep. And he finds it sexy and attractive.
Ace stares at her for a while and remarks, "You look good," to which she thanks him with a smile. "You know what they say about cowboy hats?" he asks, not taking his eyes off the woman who was now seated next to him, flipping through the pages of an old book from one of the shelves.
She glances up. "What?"
"They say a man lets a woman wear his hat if he's interested in her..."
"And...?"
"But a woman taking a man's hat off means you want the others off too," he glanced down his chest and gave her a meaningful look.
She smirks. "Now, what does that mean?" she asks, feigning ignorance.
"Means you wanna ride 'im," he said in an almost hushed voice, intensely staring at her with lazy eyes.
Jeane stared back and smiled. Then she leaned in, landing a hand between his thighs, almost grazing his tightening crotch. "Well then..." she purred, leaning closer, giving him a great view of her mounds, "How about I ride you with nothing but your hat on tonight, cowboy?"
That sent him in shambles. He shut his eyes tight, obviously been holding it in, and threw his head back, chuckling throatily. "GAHHH-darn it, Jeane!"
Jeane quickly leaned back, knowing she sent him to the edge and giggled as she placed his hat back on his lap, covering the growing bulge.
It hurts him in the crotch, but he enjoys these little frustrating flirtings with her.
They don't know when exactly they started this, but one threw a word, the other caught it, and there started years of friendship.
While they were both clearly onto each other, it was also taking everything in them to hold back, just like how two people would play with fire but not too close to get burned.
Nobody knew the reason. Not even them. It was there, but it was vague.
Maybe she didn't want any further. Maybe he knew that and respects her. Maybe it was for many other reasons.
Whatever it was, they didn't dare ask.
(Author's note: This will be a compilation of shorts based on the same plot and characters.)

Pairing: Portgas D Ace x Y/N
Dialogue: “Don’t go. I don’t even know who I am without you.” 🔥🏴‍☠️
A/n: I hope you enjoy this as much as I did writing this! <3
✧༺♥༻∞✧༺♥༻∞✧༺♥༻∞✧༺♥༻∞✧༺♥༻∞
Out of all of the jobs he could have had. It was a pirate.
The mere mention of the word 'pirate' sent shivers down your spine. You were terrified at the thought of encountering a pirate, imagining the ruthless and unpredictable nature of these seafaring outlaws.
The tales of their plundering, pillaging, and ruthless violence made you fear for your safety and the safety of those around you.
So when you heard Marco say that he and his group were pirates, your heart dropped. The fear and anxiety that had built up over the years came rushing back, and you couldn't help but imagine the worst possible scenarios of what being associated with pirates could mean for you.
"Sorry, I need to go," you quickly excused yourself from Marco, leaving the hall.
The last thing you wanted was to be caught up in any illegal activities or put yourself in danger by associating with pirates. . . .
✧༺♥༻∞✧༺♥༻∞✧༺♥༻∞✧༺♥༻∞✧༺♥༻∞
Ace saw you run away from the hall with a distressed look, and he couldn't help but feel a mix of concern and curiosity.
He wondered what had happened to make you react like that, so he excused himself from the group and went over to Marco, hoping to find some answers.
"What happened with Y/N?" He asked Marco since he was the last person you were with, standing beside him.
Marco then looked at him with a serious face, hesitated for a moment, and finally asked, "Why didn't you tell her that we were pirates from the beginning?"
Ace's eyes widened as the realization hit him like a tidal wave. He now understood why you had run off in distress. The revelation that Marco and he were actually pirates explained everything - the secrecy, the danger, and the constant need to be on the run.
Ace's concern for you deepened as he realized the magnitude of the situation and the potential risks it posed to your safety.
"I didn't want to scare her off," Ace admitted, his voice filled with regret. "I thought this island was going to be a small stop and the talk just kept being postponed," he said, glancing at the door you left at.
Marco sighed, "Go get her then," he said, his tone filled with urgency. "She deserves to know the truth, Ace. And if you truly care about her, you'll do whatever it takes to make things right."
"I will," Ace responded resolutely, determination shining in his eyes. He knew that he couldn't let you go without explaining the truth, no matter the consequences.
Ace quickly made his way towards the door you had left through, his heart pounding with a mix of anxiety and determination. He knew that he had to find you, to explain everything, and to make things right.
He couldn't bear the thought of you being left in the dark, unaware of the dangers and secrets that surrounded him, Marco and the others. As he stepped outside, he scanned the surroundings, hoping to catch a glimpse of you amidst the bustling streets.
Ace searched the busy marketplace frantically, his eyes scanning the crowd for any sign of you, but you were nowhere to be found. With a sinking feeling in his chest, he made his way towards your bakery, hoping that you had sought solace in the familiar surroundings.
As he walked, he couldn't help but replay the events in his mind, regretting his decision to keep his true identity a secret and vowing to make things right with you.
He took a deep breath before asking curiously, "Why are you so terrified of pirates?"
You let out a deep breath, saying, "They destroyed the village and killed my parents," the words caught in your throat as memories of that fateful day flooded back.
Ace's heart sank even further as he remembered the pain and fear in your eyes when you had shared your tragic past with him. He understood now why you were so terrified of pirates - they had taken everything from you.
He wanted to assure you that, even though he was a pirate, he wasn't like the people who attacked your village. He wanted to show you that he could be trusted and that he would do everything in his power to protect you from any harm.
"Let me go!" A voice he knew too well yelled from somewhere nearby.
Without hesitation, Ace sprinted towards the sound of the familiar voice, his heart pounding with a mix of worry and determination. He knew that he couldn't let anything happen to you, not after everything you had been through.
"You guys aren't from here, aren't you?" You accused them as you tried to free your hands from behind you.
"Wow, what a smart cookie!" One man laughed, "You're right, we're pirates,"
"We saw you with Fire Fist Ace on this island and we're going to use you for bait to get him and his bounty!"
The others laughed with him, their cruel laughter echoing in the air.
The realization hit you hard as you looked around and saw that there was no one else in sight except for the pirates. Panic welled up inside you as you realized the gravity of the situation - you were completely alone with them and there was no one to help you.
Despite the fear and panic, you clung to the memory of Ace, knowing deep down that he was different from these pirates.
In that moment, you remembered the moment you had with Ace at your bakery. Everything about him made you feel safe and calm, except for your heart that was beating fast. His presence was reassuring, and you couldn't help but trust him as he gently tied your hair back, his warm smile melting away your fears.
"Now tell us where Fire Fist Ace is or you're going to die," One of the armed men said, holding a knife dangerous close to your neck.
"I don't know where he is," you lied, your voice trembling slightly. You couldn't risk putting Ace in danger by revealing his whereabouts, even if it meant risking your own life.
You just hoped that he stayed with Marco and the others. Then maybe your death wouldn't be in vain.
"Stop lying!" one of them yelled, his voice filled with anger and frustration. The knife pressed harder against your neck, causing a sharp pain to shoot through your body.
It's funny when you think about it. Your parents were killed by pirates and now you were going to die from one too. Yet you fell in love with a pirate and you were going to die protecting him.
"I told you I don't know where he is," you insisted, your voice shaking.
"Okay, your loss," the pirate sneered, tightening his grip on the knife. "If you won't cooperate, then we have no use for you."
The pirate's grip tightened on the knife, and you braced yourself for the pain that was about to come.
You closed your eyes tightly, preparing for the inevitable strike of the knife. But just as the pirate was about to deliver the fatal blow, you heard a loud crash and felt a rush of heat.
Opening your eyes, you saw Ace standing in front of you, his body engulfed in flames as he fiercely fought off the pirates.
With incredible speed and precision, Ace effortlessly dispatched each of the pirates, his flames dancing and crackling with intensity. In less than a minute, the once-threatening group lay defeated on the ground, and you couldn't help but marvel at Ace's sheer power and skill.
After defeating the last guy, Ace immediately focused on you, his eyes were still filled with the hatred he had for the enemies. However, as soon as he saw the fear in your eyes and the blood trickling down your neck, his expression softened and he rushed to your side.
"Are you okay?" Ace asked as he ran over to untie the ropes around your wrist, his eyes filled with concern. He gently inspected the wound on your neck and applied pressure to stop the bleeding.
"I'm sorry you had to go through this," he said softly, his voice filled with regret.
"It's- It's not your fault," you muttered, your voice barely audible. Despite the pain radiating from your neck, you managed a weak smile, grateful for Ace's timely intervention.
"Don't try and speak!" Ace warned, his voice filled with urgency. "You need to save your energy. I'll get you out of here and to safety as quickly as possible."
"I don't think-" you started, your voice trembling.
"Don't say it," Ace said, his emotions going on a rollercoaster. "You're going to make it. We're going to get through this together."
As you tried to speak, you coughed up blood, causing Ace's concern to deepen. He quickly applied more pressure to your wound and reassured you that help was on the way.
"Stay with me," he pleaded, his voice filled with determination.
"I know you're a pirate, Ace, and I don't hate you for it," you muttered, your words barely audible. Ace's eyes widened in surprise, and for a moment, his expression softened. He squeezed your hand gently, a mixture of gratitude and regret in his eyes.
You then felt your consciousness slipping away, your vision blurring as darkness closed in. Ace's voice became distant, but you could still hear the desperation in his pleas. As you fought to stay awake, a sense of gratitude washed over you, knowing that even in this dire situation, you were not alone. . . .

You woke up with a pounding headache, and even the slightest movement caused sharp pain to shoot through your body. Opening your eyes was excruciating, and you winced as the bright light pierced through your eyelids.
After a few minutes, you cautiously tried to open them again, and to your relief, your eyes slowly adjusted to the light. As your surroundings came into focus, you realized you were in a small, dimly lit room with bare walls and a single window slightly covered by thick curtains.
You couldn't move your hands and you thought it was because you just woke up. There was something, however, that caught your attention. Someone was sleeping on top of you and you knew exactly who it was by the type of hat that was covering his face.
Why was Ace sleeping here?
Having your other hand available, you slowly reached out for his hat and lifted it from his face.
As you lifted Ace's hat from his face, a wave of affection washed over you. His peaceful expression and tousled hair made your heart skip a beat, and you couldn't help but smile at the sight of him. Despite the mysterious circumstances, seeing his face asleep gave you a sense of comfort and reassurance.
"Ace," you whispered, hoping to wake him gently without causing any alarm.
As you whispered his name, Ace stirred and slowly opened his eyes, blinking several times as he adjusted to the dim light in the room.
"Hey there," Ace mumbled, his voice husky with sleep. He stretched his arms above his head and yawned, his eyes finally focusing on you.
Ace's hair was tousled and messy from sleep, giving him a charming and disheveled look. He ran his fingers through his hair, trying to tame it, but it only made it look even more endearing.
When he realized it was you, he jumped up in surprise, his eyes widening. "You're awake!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with confusion and happiness.
"What happened?" you asked, seeing that you were in a hospital room.
Ace's expression turned serious as he explained, "You were losing so much blood."
You then remembered what had happened; you got kidnapped and then stabbed in the neck. The shock of the memory flooded your mind, and you couldn't believe the danger you had narrowly escaped.
Ace went back to laying half of his body on the bed, but this time he didn't go to sleep. Instead, he looked at you intensely, his eyes filled with a mixture of relief and concern.
"You scared me," he admitted softly, his hand reaching out to gently touch your arm.
"I thought-"
"But I didn't, did I? I'm still alive and breathing," you stated, trying to assure him and yourself of your survival. Ace's grip on your arm tightened slightly, his eyes never leaving yours.
"Thank goodness," he whispered, his voice filled with gratitude and a hint of vulnerability.
Feeling the warmth of his touch, you found comfort in the connection as he then slowly entwined your hands together, a silent expression of support and reassurance in the face of the danger you had both endured.
"Ace, I know that you're a pirate. Marco told me," you started, not sure what to say after that.
"Really? I'm sorry for hiding it from you," Ace replied, his gaze filled with regret. "I didn't want to put you in danger, but I should have been honest with you from the beginning."
"It's not your fault, I shouldn't have been hating on all pirates when there's people in the world like you,"
Ace's eyes softened, and a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
"You know, I got an invitation to join your crew by Marco," you said, watching Ace's eyes widen in surprise.
"Really?" Ace exclaimed, his surprise evident in his voice. He paused for a moment, processing the information, before a wide grin spread across his face.
"Have you considered joining?" he asked, his excitement palpable. "With your cooking and bravery, I know you'd be a valuable addition to our crew."
Blushing, you glanced down at your intertwined hands, feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement. "Well, um, I haven't really thought about it...but it's definitely something I'm considering," you replied, a shy smile playing on your lips.
"I'm so happy, Oh i'm so happy I could kiss you!" Ace said happily but stopped after realising what he said.
Ace's face turned bright red as soon as the words slipped out of his mouth. He quickly cleared his throat and awkwardly scratched the back of his head. "Um... I mean, I'm just really glad you're considering it. No need for any kissing, I swear," he stammered, his embarrassment evident in his voice.
You couldn't help but giggle at his adorable reaction, feeling your heart flutter with joy.
Quickly, you gestured for him to come closer, unable to resist the pull of his infectious enthusiasm. As he leaned in, a mixture of anticipation and nervousness filled the air, but deep down, you knew that this moment was the beginning of an extraordinary adventure.
You gently held his cheek and brought him closer, feeling the warmth of his breath against your skin. As your lips finally met in a soft, sweet kiss, you both knew that this moment marked the start of an extraordinary adventure filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities.
But of course, gentle meant nothing to Ace, and the kiss quickly became more intense and passionate. The world around you faded away as you both lost yourselves in the moment, fueling the fire of your newfound connection and setting the stage for the passionate journey that lay ahead.
Ace's arms roamed eagerly, exploring every inch of your body with a hunger that matched the intensity of his kiss. The electric current that surged between you ignited a fire within, igniting a desire that could not be contained.
"Can you guys stop eating each other for one minute," Marco said at the doorway, interrupting the passionate moment between you and Ace.
Startled, you both pulled away, cheeks flushed with embarrassment, but unable to hide the smiles on your faces that spoke of a love that couldn't be contained. . . .

You’ve been called in to exorcise a demon that’s causing a lot of trouble for the community in a quiet country village, so you don’t expect that curse to give you such a hard time.
[📚School!AU📚] - Breaktime at school
Ace is the most popular guy in high school, he’s a senior, and he’s going to college soon, so you don’t expect him to know who you are, a little third-year-old girl who’s doing very well in school. You don’t know how wrong you are.
[👑Royalty!AU👑] - Midnight Ball
You didn’t object when the mystery knight gave you his hand to go down the garden stairs, it was your last night of freedom before you had to marry someone you hardly knew. A moonlight dance before you become the wife of the future king of the kingdom with a mysterious knight you would love in silence for years to come.
[✨PeterPan!AU✨] - Lost Girl in Neverland
Second star right and then straight until morning! But wait for the lost children are not so children but they are teenagers!? Fairies and mermaids are friendly? The biggest cliché in the world? You made it happen. You always considered yourself a beta with little sex craving and always squabbling with her beta neighbor. So you don’t expect that the day you go for the analysis something snaps in you and that you’re both soul mates. In short! You can’t be the soul mate of your neighbor Beta (actually Alpha) Ace! And you can’t be his Omega.
[🏹Indian!AU🏹] - The arrow of fate
Travel to the new world! Gold, riches, adventures and new lands to explore! That’s what they promised, but now Ace was wondering how he could explain that those were really fake things and that the only thing that drew gold were the hair of a certain Indian who had snatched his heart?
[⚔️Moschettieres!AU⚔️] - Damsel in distress
"And you call that a lunge?" You shouted behind the back of the man who was fighting to protect you.
"Then fight you mademoiselles!" The Musketeer answered you by stretching out the enemy that was attacking you and taking you for life to take away. What was all that effrontery towards the poor Musketeer Ace who was fighting to save you at the behest of his majesty!
"With great pleasure!" You answered by beating your fists on his shoulder. There were no bridesmaids anymore.
[🚓Police!AU🚓] - Cat Burglar
Ace had just joined the police force when he was given a very important case by Commissioner Smoker. Catch a famous thief who always announces her shots before getting them.
