Future Badrinath and God Narsimha of Joshimath connection
Badrinath finds mention in the first chapter of second skanda of ‘Skanda Purana’. The 57th shloka says, “The Ashram of lord Narayan was called ‘Muktipada’ in Satyuga, ‘Yogasiddha’ in Treta, ‘Vishal’ in Dwapar and ‘Badrikaashram’ in Kaliyug.” In Vaman Purana, sage Pulastya says that ‘Dharma’ the divine body, manifested from the heart of Lord Brahma and married to ‘Murti’, daughter of Daksh. Rudraprayag…!! Named after Lord Shiva's Rudra avatar (incarnation), Rudraprayag is an ancient holy town situated at the confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, at a distance of 34 km from Srinagar in the Garhwal region. Rudraprayag marks the fourth confluence between Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. The fifth and final union takes place at Devprayag where the Alaknanda river joins Bhagirathi to form the Ganga and flow down to the plains. While the town is known for revered temples and pristine natural beauty, the presence of two separate routes for Badrinath (around 150 km away) and Kedarnath Dham (around 50 km away) from Rudraprayag make it an important destination for religious tourism, attracting tourists and devotees throughout the year, who make a beeline for the Shiva and Jagdamba temples here. Headquarters of the eponymous district, the region is blessed with natural beauty and the town is surrounded by lakes and glaciers. Hindu mythology says that to master the mysteries of music, sage Narad did a severe penance to appease Lord Shiva, who appeared in his Rudra avatar to bless Narad. The Pandava Dance, a dance form based on the dance and music of the Kaurava and Pandavas as described in the epic Mahabharata, is very popular among locals in this district. It is believed that after Kurukshetra war, to repent for the death of kin, the Pandavas visited this region to pray to Lord Shiva. Even today, locals here celebrate Pandav Leela in the memory of that visit. . . . . . #rudraprayag #garhwal #uttarakhand #shiv #pandavas #pandav #river #sangam #incarnation #folk #religious #information #informative #rohitgpt009 #mandakini #alaknanda #ganga #touristattraction (at Rudraprayag रुद्रप्रयाग) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoedXIIvmmI/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

love as devotion. love as worship. love as sunlight slanting into a place of worship. love as bowed head. love as standing still. love as where bhagirathi meets alaknanda. love as confluence. love as influence. love as the mountains you love so much. love as hands. love as kashi at twilight. love as removing shoes before entering the mandir. love as whatever makes you, you. love as look into me. tell me what you find there. tell me, tell me, tell me. love as I want to know everything. love as tell me everything mundane about you. which shoe do you wear first. how does the universe reveal itself to you. what do your eyes look like when you are in love. when you are angry. what does the inside of your body feel like. is there enough space for your heart. for your lungs. love as river. love as the fire offered to the river. love as river water, sky and flowers all at once. love as mantra. love as diyas. love as payals, jhumkas, mehendi and chaat. love as old building. love as crumbling but not disappearing. love as prayer. come home to me. come home to me. come home to me. love as eternal. love as the thing that outlasts us. love as the thing that outcasts us. love as the sky bruising purple and pink in yearning. love as feverish yearning. love as chaos. love as failed attempts. love as you have invariably changed me. love as avoiding cameras but not eyes. love as the outcome of a maths problem. love as desperation. love as weakness. love as I wish you had met past versions of me. love as in I have almost nothing to offer you. love as in I am terrified you will see my emptiness. love as trust. love as nothing has ever come close to the moon for me, except you. love as thrill. love as drama. love as epics. love as conviction. conviction. conviction. love as the opposite of shifting sands. love as solid ground. love as the thing you cannot fall beyond. love as the sky. the sky is light. light is time. love as time. love as finality. love love as my laughter means nothing if you are not here to see it. love as everyone I have loved has not loved me back. love as sleeping on a stiff hospital bench at night because my grandfather was sick. love as I would rather exist as the ashes of something than a whole where you did not touch me. love as feeding stray animals. love as climbing mountains to see God. love as climbing mountains to die. love as dying. love as having been held. having been loved. love as if I stop writing I will recede. love as peeled orange. love as sustenance. love as comfort food. love as I will come back. love as endings. love as nothing ends. love as everything ends. love as I am tired of impossibilities. I just want to go home.

देवि सुरेश्वरि भगवति गंगे त्रिभुवनतारिणि तरल तरंगे |
शंकर मौलिविहारिणि विमले मम मति रास्तां तव पद कमले ||
गंगा (rom. Ganga)
In the hills of Uttarakhand, she is not one river, she is all the streams from the one source of life. Each confluence is holy, but the one that births Ganga is at Devprayag. The confluence of the vivacious Bhagirathi, descending from the Gangotri Glacier, and the pacific Alaknanda, whose journey begins from the lotus feet of Shree Hari himself. Most devout of her believers, that once a king turned sage, penanced to all the gods to allow Her to descend down on the Earth, to free his ancestors from sin. The river cuts through the Himalayas and descends through the heart of a country to meet the Bay at the holy Gangasagar. Through her journey, she takes many forms. To the humble Himalayas, she is the playful daughter, who wishes to journey forth clasping the hands of her sisters. In the plains, she is the all-forgiving mother, who sustains them in life and carries them gently to moksha after life. After all, the oldest living city of the world, found itself on the tips of the cosmic Trishul, by her banks. Her farewell forges the largest mangrove delta in the world in two countries, the Sundarbans. Before, alike millions who seek her current for comfort, she sinks deep into the sea.
Today, the all-giving mother suffers from such love we pour into her. Unfortunately, it is this devotion that earned her a spot in the Most Polluted Rivers in the World. One on end, thousands take to her banks for devotion, their lamps lit and chants emanating from their hearts. One the other, we continue to harm.
Isn't it life after all, to hurt those who care for us the most?

Hello there! Thank you for the asks!
28. does your country have a lot of lakes, mountains, rivers? do you have favourites?
Yes, we do! India is a vast country with different geographical landscapes.
My favourite mountain I have seen so far is Stok Kangri, in Ladakh - the shape of the mountain is so pretty (another pretty mountain is Moon Peak that overlooks Dharamshala). I have seen Kanchenjunga from a distance in Sikkim, and it's a gorgeous ice wall. I want to do a trek where I can see the mountain up close.
youtube
My favourite river is Indus in Ladakh, this is where the name "India" comes from. Ganga becomes more and more polluted once it enters plains, but the rivers from the mountains (Alaknanda, Pindar, Dhauliganga, Mandakini, Bhilangana)that form the river Ganga? Outstanding beauties.
youtube
Also dearly love Periyar. :) it's the river you will see from the plane if you fly near Kochi, Kerala. It's a huge river and I was always so scared to try swimming in it because it's humungous. In my mother's teenage years, the river used to flood frequently and her family used to live on the top floor of the house.
Lakes? Hmm. I haven't seen any I like. But maybe backwaters can qualify? Love the Vembanad lake in Allepey.
youtube
I have heard Wular Lake is beautiful but I haven't seen that part of Kashmir.
29. does your region/city have a beef with another place in your country?
Where I currently stay? Yeah. Karnataka and Tamil Nadu regularly beef over sharing of Cauvery river water.
30. do you have people of different nationalities in your family?
Not at the moment, no. I am afraid to say that I am most likely to bring people of different nationality into the family.
I am not from US asks

A revered temple, it is dedicated to Dhari Devi (a form of Goddess Kali), who is considered to be the guardian deity of Uttarakhand and is worshipped as the protector of the Char Dhams. According to mythology, a severe flood once washed away a temple and the idol of Dhari Devi was trapped against a rock near the Dharo village. The local residents claim to have heard wails and a divine voice directed them to install the idol there.
Local lore also has it that the idol of the deity changes appearance throughout the day – a girl child in the morning, a young woman in the afternoon and an old woman in the evening.
It is said that Goddess Dhari Devi has two parts. Her body’s upper half appeared at Dhari Devi temple while her lower half appeared at Kalimath temple, where she is worshipped as Maa Kali. According to the legend, Dhari Devi’s idol can’t be kept under any roof. So, that portion is always kept open towards the sky.
The temple is located between Srinagar and Rudraprayag on the banks of River Alaknanda and can be reached by a one-km cement pathway.

Char Dham Yatra by Helicopter Package: Your Ultimate Guide
The Char Dham Yatra, comprising visits to the sacred shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, is a revered pilgrimage for Hindus. While traditionally a lengthy and strenuous journey, modern helicopter tour packages offer a more convenient and comfortable way to experience this spiritual adventure. In this guide, we provide valuable information, tips, and insights on planning your Char Dham Yatra by helicopter package.
Tumblr media
What is the Char Dham Yatra?
The Char Dham Yatra is a pilgrimage to four sacred sites in the Indian Himalayas:
Yamunotri: The source of the Yamuna River and home to the Yamunotri Temple dedicated to Goddess Yamuna.
Gangotri: The origin of the Ganges River, with the sacred Gangotri Temple honoring Goddess Ganga.
Kedarnath: A major Shiva temple located at the head of the Mandakini River.
Badrinath: A prominent Vishnu temple situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River.
Advantages of a Helicopter Tour Package
Opting for a helicopter tour package for the Char Dham Yatra offers several benefits:
Time Efficiency: Complete the pilgrimage in 1-2 days compared to the traditional route, which can take up to 10-12 days.
Comfort and Convenience: Avoid long treks and road journeys with smooth and hassle-free helicopter rides.
Scenic Views: Enjoy breathtaking aerial views of the majestic Himalayas, lush valleys, and winding rivers.
Accessibility: Ideal for elderly pilgrims or those with physical limitations who might find the traditional route challenging.
Planning Your Char Dham Helicopter Tour
1. Booking Your Package
Several reputable tour operators offer Char Dham helicopter packages. It's crucial to book your package well in advance, especially during peak pilgrimage season (April to June and September to October). Look for packages that include:
Helicopter transfers between the four shrines
VIP darshan (priority access to the temples)
Accommodation and meals
Ground transportation where necessary
Recommended Operators:
Pawan Hans Helicopters
Heritage Aviation
Yatra.com
2. Preparing for the Journey
Travel Documents: Ensure you have valid ID proofs and necessary travel documents.
Packing Essentials: Pack light but include essentials like warm clothing, comfortable footwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, and any required medications.
Health Precautions: Consult your doctor, especially if you have health issues that might be exacerbated by high altitudes.
3. Understanding the Itinerary
A typical Char Dham helicopter tour itinerary might look like this:
Day 1: Departure from Dehradun. Fly to Yamunotri, then Gangotri. Overnight stay at a nearby location.
Day 2: Fly to Kedarnath, followed by Badrinath. Return to Dehradun.
4. Weather Considerations
Weather conditions in the Himalayas can be unpredictable. Check the weather forecast regularly and be prepared for possible delays or rescheduling. Tour operators usually have contingency plans, but flexibility is key.
5. Respecting Local Customs
As you visit these sacred sites, remember to respect local customs and traditions. Dress modestly, maintain a respectful demeanor, and follow temple protocols.
Conclusion
A Char Dham Yatra by helicopter package offers a perfect blend of spiritual fulfillment, natural beauty, and modern convenience. It allows pilgrims to undertake this sacred journey with ease and comfort, making it accessible to a wider audience. The Land of Gods – Dev bhoomi
Uttarakhand is the 27th state of the Republic of India. It was carved out of Uttar Pradesh on 9th November 2000. Uttarakhand is also called Dev Bhoomi as it has many important shrines. Located at the foothills of the Himalayas, this State in India has international boundaries with China (Tibet) in the north and Nepal in the east. The state is divided into 2 administrative zones: Kumaon and Garhwal which share a total of 13 districts under them. 6 districts in Kumaon and 7 districts in Garhwal. The districts of Kumaon region are Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar. The districts of Garhwal region are Chamoli, Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Rudraprayag, Tehri and Uttarkashi.
I hv been visiting Uttarakhand since childhood. It was Uttar Pradesh then and have visited it even when it became Uttarakhand. Every summer, my banker father would book us a vacation and we girls would bundle up and head towards the North of India. It would be either Delhi, Madhya Pradesh or any city in Uttarakhand.. Delhi is directly connected to many  places in Uttarakhand. After a short visit to Delhi, we would head towards Dehra Dun and other connected places.  I have visited Dehra Dun, Mussoorie, Rishikesh an infinite number of times and have very beautiful Memories of these places etched in the sands of time.  Even after so many trips to Uttarakhand, we never visited any place in the Kumaon region. That’s because of our fascination to Garhwal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The beautiful Badrinath temple, Joshimath - the winter abode of Lord Badrinarayan, Kedarnath temple,Nanda Devi peak,Rudraprayag, Devprayag, Vishnu Prayag, Neelkanth peak are all located in the Chamoli district of The Garhwal region. Badrinath temple is a major pilgrimage site. It’s one of the Char dham yatra sites -  the four abodes as defined by Adi Shankaracharya. It is believed that every Hindu must do this four abodes trip to attain Moksh(salvation). The other three are Dwaraka, Puri and Rameshwaram. The smaller circuit of the char dham is here in Uttarakhand  -  Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Gangotri temples. Badrinath is located on the banks of Alaknanda river and at a height of 3133 m above sea level. Joshimath is the gateway to this pilgrim centre and also to several Himalayan climbing expeditions.
Garhwal Himalayan terrain is a very hilly one. Landslides, cloud bursts, heavy rains, flash floods are a part of the package that you could book. These natural phenomenon often disrupt one’s journey. We should, therefore, be prepared with emergencies while travelling to Garhwal. While for the traveller it’s just a disrupted journey,  life comes to a standstill for the natives with communications and transport stopped until it all recedes. Our visit to the Badrinath temple was one such a trip where we experienced the wrath of the Weather. The bus journey that we had undertaken from Rishikesh to Badrinath had to be halted as the road ahead had been damaged  due to landslide. We were at Joshimath then and took shelter at a Dharamshala. journey would resume once the rains stopped and the road restored. Fortunately we were able to move on with the journey the next day and take the Badrinath Darshan. The majestic Neelkanth peak was another mesmerising massif which we were able to experience and we felt very fortunate to be In its presence
Tumblr media
Every city or district name in Uttarakhand Is a sort of hyperlink to  Inexhaustible geographical detail and natural beauty. Landslides are surely a part of this place but an Uttarakhand tour is nothing if something exciting doesn’t happen. Every nook, every corner, every turn, every stretch, every valley, the huge mountains, the ashrams and the shrines will make moments of your life an everlasting one.
