Hi !

I just finished the brights sessions and in one of the episode D. Bright said that the atypical represented 4% of the world's population, and that let me wondering, considering that almost every atypical that we encounter in the serie is queer, what percent of the queer community is atypical ?

Oooh GREAT question! Lemme do some quick math here...

Okay, according to my universe bible (which is pretty accurate, if not fully comprehensive, I'm sure there's stuff I forgot to write down), there are 29 known and named atypicals across the 7 seasons of the podcasts, excluding the Bright Sides (Season 5, the bonus episodes) and the three books (though there is some overlap) but including Frank Sawyer and Sadie Greenwood, who are, like...atypical-adjacent.

Of those 30 atypicals (presuming I counted correctly (does this post have enough parentheticals yet?)), 14 are definitely canonically queer in one way or another. So, by that logic, nearly half of the atypical population is queer! I have a feeling that number would go up if I were to go through and pull out all the folks from the books and the bonus episodes (which perhaps I will do someday but I don't know the orientation of all the bonus ep characters (bc they were created by other people) and pulling out characters from the books is always a mess because, uh, I do not outline lol) but I also don't know that I can say our little atypical population is fully representative of the global population's queerness? Like flocks to like, so perhaps this a somewhat self-selecting bunch, or maybe there really is just a very high correlation between being atypical and being queer. Dealer's (fanfic writer and headcanon-er's) choice!

as an actress who works in the film industry, it is a strict rule for co-stars to not fall in love with each other. mostly because it's all an act. if one thing goes wrong, then everything will probably come tumbling down.

it all started when the two of you worked together. you met the andrew garfield for a project and you two instantly clicked together.

you have always admired him. the dedication and passion he puts onto his works are incredible. so working with him is so exciting for you. he also loved your last movie. andrew told you how talented you are as an actress and he's ecstatic to finally work with you.

ever since you met, he always does small but yet sweet things for you. like he will pull out your chair, offers you his scarf if you're cold during filming, give you flowers after a tiring week of shooting, bring you your favourite drink and snacks.

you thought of it as a best friend and gentleman kind of thing because you don't want to jump into conclusions but you know there's something in there since you don't see him doing these things to other people.

he greets you with a "good morning" every day and brings you breakfast too. you told him that none of that was necessary but you accepted anyway.

"alright, see you soon!" you said before he returned the greet and ended the call. a few minutes passed and your phone lit up, andrew's message had delivered to you and he said he's outside the building.

"hello stranger, why are you in my property?" you squinted your eyes to him, biting back a smile.

"hello to you too, i'm here to pick someone named [y/n] [l/n]. do you happen to know where she is?" he played along as he opened the door of his car.

"hmm... i think she's sitting in your car," said you, getting inside his car.

you looked over to the back seat to see a pack of uncooked meal and frozen fruits. you almost laugh at how ridiculous it looks. "oh absolutely! i'm eating raw chicken, frozen lemons, and raw eggs for dinner. so amazing! i give the andrew garfield restaurant a five-star review and a five-star service!"

"now don't make fun of me! that chinese restaurant closed right before i arrived and the pizza place across the street was so packed. i was thinking we can cook together, you know i really really love your cooking," he peered over at the rearview mirror to look at your face as he emphasised the word 'love'.

"okay, fine," you agreed. the drive was short and calm, you two talked about how much the two of you had grown.

just a year ago, you met him for the first time in a movie screen test and he was a stuttering and awkward mess. he tripped over your leg when you got up from your chair, but you laughed about it now. "i was so nervous to meet you because you're like so professional and i'm just- stood there watching you say all the words in your script-" he laughed, his eyes crinkling at the ends.

when you arrived at his place, he opened the door for you to walk in and brought the grocery bag to the kitchen, setting it down. you made dinner for the both of you before settling down on the sofa to watch a movie together.

he laid beside you on the sofa, wrapping an arm around you protectively as he pulled you closer to him. you thought of this as a friendly gesture because his flat is freezing cold. he knows you're cold, so he's sharing his warmth with you, but you can't deny the fact that there's something in your stomach, like a kaleidoscope of butterflies.

the thing is, you didn't know that he's purposely making his apartment cold so he can have you close like this. he loves it when you press your cheek to his shoulder.

as the movie ended, he looked down only to see you fast asleep. he smiled down at your peaceful state, wishing the two of you have more than just a friendship (though he is grateful either way). he knew exactly what his feeling is towards you and maybe by chance he knew you felt the same way too, but the friendship you had going on was too important to him to be ruined.

he didn't realise that he's lost in his trance until he felt your head turned to the other side, your eyelids fluttering because you're dreaming so he tuck you in his bed, and turn the night light on. that night he slept on the sofa; he didn't want you to feel uncomfortable.

as that routine goes on and on, the feelings between you two were sparking more and more.

one tuesday morning, you woke up to a call from liz, your manager, she told you that you got in this role for a romance movie and filming will start in two weeks. you were beyond happy to get this role because you loved how sweet and dreamy the storyline is and you're also excited to fly across the globe to film it.

it was until then that you realised your co-star is once again, andrew garfield, your best friend. you're going to be his love interest in this film. you're going to be kissing him, you're going to-

you talked together in depth about what the director wants to see in this film and how the characters are supposed to be. she's very specific so it's quite easy for you to hop on her boat and went along with her sail.

the filming went smoothly, you and andrew were so good together that sometimes the director really thought that you both are in love. well, maybe she's not entirely wrong... ?

"oh my god i'm going to kiss you in less than 45 minutes," andrew said out of the blue when the crew were taking a break for lunch. he was sitting on the floor across from you. reading the script as he casually took a large bite of his burger.

you almost choked at what he said. he said it so normally that you almost didn't catch up on what he's actually saying. "don't eat garlic or any of those sorts please," you replied, biting back a smile as you ignored the butterflies at the thought of it.

"oh i will never!" he chuckled, feeling the blood rushed into his cheeks, so scarlet it was maroon. he's excited to kiss you actually. he has been dreaming on how's it like feeling your lips against his. he knew it will be the best feeling in the world. he knows he will not regret this.

the break is over and it's time for them to... kiss?

"one, two, three, action!"

andrew placed his hand on your face, tugging it closer to him. you felt your breath hitched, the smell of him covering your nostrils. you were lost and long gone in his scent until you came back to reality when andrew pressed his lips to yours.

his tongue made its way inside your mouth and you almost broke out of character when you noticed the peppermint flavour. prior to this, he brushed his teeth profusely and ate packs of mint leaves.

his lips were incredibly soft, they moved ever so slowly with yours, you could melt. your hands went up to his hair as his went down your waist. the feeling was just like the movies. everything went in slow motion, everything is spinning around.

"cut!" the director yelled, seemingly satisfied by the shot. "awesome, [y/n], andrew!" she gave the two of you a thumbs up.

now you moved along with the script, trying to ignore the sparks in your stomach. when the scenes for the day were all finished, andrew walked you back to your dressing room. by the looks of it, he seemed like he wanted to say something.

"okay well hello," he started, clearing his throat.

"hi?" you knitted your brows as you smile at him.

"i want to tell you something actually, something i've been hiding for a while now," he said it in a low whisper, taking baby steps over your carpet.

"okay, c'mere sit with me,"

"you know the kiss? i really enjoyed it," he cringed at his words, wishing it had come out better.

you smiled, crimson creeping up your cheeks. "me too," you nodded.

"yes, well- i know this sounds truly crazy," he shook his head, closing his eyes. "but i really have to tell you that i have- feelings that i feel for you... and by this i mean like in a romantic way. i can ruin our friendship and make my comfort person despise me but i'm giving it a shot anyway."

since we've met i can't stop thinking about you. how your day is or- or how you are feeling that day. i feel like i can be myself around you, and the thing is, i'm rarely being myself. i come to you in by best days and talk to you in my worst days because i trust you. i hope you know that you can trust me too."

you stayed silent, processing what you just heard. you never thought he will confess to you, but he just did. "um [y/n]? please answer me right now because i'm freaking out."

"i feel feels too to you," now it's your turn to cringe on what you just said. "i mean- i feel the same way, i really like you. wholeheartedly."

"okay," a genuine smile spread across his face as he leaned forward to bump his nose on yours. "can we kiss now? is this the right time to kiss like in the movies?"

"sure," you laughed but your voice were quickly shut up by his lips. this time you weren't acting. you two were actually kissing off screen with real feelings behind them. this time, it was much better. he kissed you with more passion and tenderness than earlier.

he didn't want to pull apart but he did anyway as for breathing is a need to keep on living. "i never thought your lips would be so soft. not gonna lie, i'm pretty sure your lips were dry," you said jokingly, rubbing his knuckles that sat on your cheekbone.

"i use lip balm before i go to bed religiously after i found out that we're gonna kiss," he admitted. "for good impressions.."

you laughed at him, your heart practically melting underneath your ribs. "i will still like you if you have crocodile skin lips anyway," you shrugged.

"stop that," he laughed. before you know it, his lips were on yours for the third time that day, and you wouldn't want to have it in any other way.

since then, the two of you have been the happiest creatures on the planet. you always woke up to him by your side or him on top of you, completely covering you like a blanket. he will greet you with small kisses on your forehead and hold your hand whenever he can. he is the definition of a gentleman and the best boyfriend anyone could ever ask for.

"morning, lovie! it's premiere day!" andrew whispered to you one morning in his apartment. you were in his arms, face hiding in his neck.

"don't wanna wake up," you mumbled. "i slept at four am yesterday, so sleepy."

"i know, love," he smiled, kissing your nose. you love those nicknames he gave you. when he calls you using pet names, your heart is like a field of blossoming flowers. "once we came back, you can be a bear hibernating throughout winter and i will stay by your side for the whole season, but now we have to get up."

“Transmasculine?” Jack can't state that he's familiar with the exact word or its definition. He's definitely aware that there are other gender identities, gender expressions, or both, besides cisgender, but it's not exactly a topic that he keeps himself up-to-date with when it comes to the terminology and information. Ultimately, it takes (Y/N) sitting Jack down and explaining transmasculine for him to be able to wrap his mind around this new information. “It sounds quite.. simple.. to understand?” It still might take him some time to completely come to understand, as besides his partner explaining it to him Jack then takes it upon himself to do some more research on it, but he's trying! He's realizing that it's quite crucial that he's informed about this information, not only for the well-being of (Y/N), but for their success and well-being of their relationship as well.

While gender dysphoria is something else that’s also probably going to have to be explained to him, it’s definitely something that he could come up with ways to ease those thoughts that make (Y/N) upset at times, or even have days of being upset. Maybe trying on some of Jack’s clothes would help? Or even going and buying a wardrobe of clothes that would enhance (Y/N)’s masculine features? “Lookin’ handsome as always, love.” Are you needing assistance with chest binding perhaps? Don’t worry, Jack is definitely your guy. Well, it’ll probably take him a couple of times of hands-on experience before he manages to get the hang of it. “Which one would you prefer this time? Would you prefer the kinetic tape? Or just the actual binder?” He’s also on top of consistently asking if (Y/N)’s comfortable and if there’s any health concerns from using the binders. “Are you able to breathe well? Would you like me to tighten or loosen it? ..It’s not irritating your skin is it? If so, we could look into getting you some of this moisturizing cream that I typically use..” Jack would also be completely fine with (Y/N) using some of his products that have that masculine fragrance if that makes him feel better as well.

There happens to be some times that Jack accidentally slips up and accidentally uses the wrong pronouns when it comes to talking to (Y/N) or even talking about (Y/N) to someone else. If it happens, he’ll apologize and correct himself, also making sure that (Y/N) is okay and explain that it wasn’t his intention to accidentally misgender or misidentify him. His voice will be soft and reassuring, making sure to bring (Y/N) into his arms and hold them close to him. Yet, if it was someone else that was someone else that ends up misgendering (Y/N).. If it happens to be someone that’s unaware that (Y/N) is transmasculine, then Jack would loudly clear his throat, tilting his head as he narrows his eyes through his visor, speaking loudly enough for everyone to hear. “If you’re NOT AWARE, (Y/N) typically goes by HE/HIM pronouns, but it’s best to ask just in case (Y/N) has decided differently for the time being.” Yet, if the person happens to be aware and is just being an asshole by purposely misgendering and misidentifying (Y/N), then expect Jack to get aggressive, He won’t hesitate to become physical, getting a tight grip upon their arms and roughly slamming them up against the wall, glaring intensely. “If you don’t quit your shit, I will make sure that as long as you’re amongst the ranks of Overwatch, I WILL make your life an absolute hell. Therefore, consider this your only warning to respect (Y/N)’s identity and pronouns.”

don't know if you have been asked this before, and if you have then pls forgive me! (also english is not my first language so I may use incorrect grammar, so I do apologise for that in advance as well) but I wanted to know what is your opinion on the popular "theory" (?) or maybe even a "canon thingy" believed by most of the people in the fandom, that Arthur and Abigail were together during the time John left or that they had romantic feelings for eachother?, or that Arthur had some intense romantic feelings for Abigail but she did not reciprocate? some even say that Arthur's 'greet' lines such as "sometimes, i think about the good old days" to Abigail are about the time they were together, however i feel confused about all this because I doubt that Abigail would just switch to Arthur as soon as John disappeared and then snapback to being in love with John as soon as he came back, it just doesn't make sense to me considering her character, however, I could be wrong. So I wanted to know your opinion about this and what you believed happened, if anything at all did in John's disappearance or even if Arthur and Abigail were ever involved romantically at any point of time in the past, because you are one of the writers on here that truly gets Abigail in my personal opinion.

People keep spreading this idea and I can see why, but it's just not accurate. There were the lightest of rumors that Abigail would be in a love triangle, but I heard that was scrapped immediately. It would have ruined John, Arthur and Abigail's characters and would have given the fandom yet ANOTHER reason to hate Abigail. I'm thankful for it because I think adding a love triangle there would be lazy. You don't need to "brothers" to be fighting over a woman to insert some drama in the story. People constantly bring up Arthur's journal entry about marriage, but again, there is ZERO proof he meant that romantically. He is partially doing it for Abigail because he thinks it's the right and proper thing to do. It's what he wasn't able to do for Eliza and Isaac. He feels sorry for Jack and wants to give him a better life that is more secure. Now, he does get bitter towards Abigail at times when it comes to Jack such as him sarcastically asking if it's his turn to be nursemaid again. That points to him potentially feeling used which is another issue in itself. Arthur also antagonizes Abigail in low honor mode. He talks only about John. Constantly. He says a lot of nasty comments about how he thinks she's desperate for John and needs to get over herself. I have his low honor comments. They reveal a completely different side to their relationship and it's all based on JOHN. Low honor Arthur also reaches for low hanging fruit like making fun of her days as a sex worker. If he is able to go that low, then he would have easily made comments about their past. Easily. I mean, he goes as low as making fun of Hosea for dying. At that point, it would be very easy to bring something like that up, but he doesn't. I have every single audio file including deleted ones. I've posted every Abigail conversation including deleted ones. There is not a SINGLE thing indicating they actually had a relationship or even romantic interest. As for as the old days go. Abigail overall is NOT happy talking about it. She will occasionally say something neutral or something along the lines of "Yep." but I have audio of her saying "I don't want to talk about the old days." It's also not in Abigail's character to get into such a thing. She would know more than anyone that getting tangled up in a mess like that would be a bad idea. She worked in brothels, she would have seen romantic love triangles and other drama. I don't think she ever loved Arthur or thought of him as anything more than a friend. At all. If Arthur fell for her, then that's possible. It's possible that he hoped he could have something like a family and do the right thing that John couldn't. However, I think that is very unlikely because he was ALWAYS hung up on Mary. I don't know when he quit seeing her because there are characters that know her that technically shouldn't. But any relationship is just out of the question to me. I hate that they left those hints in because it all turns sexist to Abigail and the idea of her "trapping" people which the fandom loves to use as an excuse to hate her. TLDR: We have nothing more than a flimsy rumor that is rarely even talked about as "proof" of their involvement. There is nothing in the audio files including the deleted ones I have that indicate this either. Arthur is hung up on Mary, Abigail is hung up on John. The journal entry was about making Abigail a proper woman and Jack not a bastard. Low Honor Arthur has most of the answers.

i’m a giant black forest dwelling dragon. i’m from a dark forest, where the trees never let the light in. i am a protector of smaller creatures, and defender of my forest. i’m able to change sizes but its mostly involuntary and based on how i feel, like if i’m feeling aggressive or protective then i will become as big as i can get, but if i’m relaxed and calm i can become as small as a large dog.

i have black scales that reflect red in the light and are mostly smooth, other than my horns/spikes around my head and the spikes along my back and tail. i have big red cat-like eyes and a long snout. i have four legs and two wings. my wings are huge and bat-like, with claws on them. i very rarely breathe fire, but i can if really needed.

My Experience with Buyee: they steal ye stuff and make ye pay!

So I have encountered a pretty big problem with using Buyee.jp, which is sort of a middleman service to help you buy things from Japan if you’re not in Japan. 

I have used them before to buy a Rilakkuma plush, and because it was just one item and it was light enough to be post it via airmail relatively inexpensively. So it arrived and it’s awesome, and so I decided to give it a go again and ordered a bunch this time. Which led me to paying a ton of crazy sounding fees and overcharging shipping, and that was sea freight, so idk. Anyway, two and a half months later I receive my box from Japan. This box has about quarter of the items I ordered missing, so I go to Buyee customer service and message them saying hey my item numbers so and so are missing can you please check in your warehouse. 

Buyee response (copy paste): 

This is the Buyee Customer Support. Thank you for your email. We are sorry to hear that there was a problem with the package you received. We investigate each case according to the applied plan, and we have confirmed that you applied Lite plan to your package [00000000000] ----------------------------------------- *LITE PLAN Items that are purchased with [Lite Plan] are not eligible for compensation, even if the item is different from the seller's page, been damaged, or been undelivered during international shipment. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any complaints or requests for refund. We apologize that we are unable to help with this matter. We sincerely suggest you apply for [Standard Plan] when you order or bid on items in the future, so that we can assist you with cases like this. Thank you for your kind understanding. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions or concerns. Sincerely, Angelu Buyee customer support

So the Plan they’re talking about is the additional fees charged when you are bidding for items at the time, you can select from various options which mean absolutely nothing and when you are bidding it only shows this line: “Lite Plan means there is no Insured Delivery or Item Inspection service included”. 

So, while hey I’m here thinking well, I’m okay if the item is not insured or inspected when it gets to your warehouse, I’ll get insurance when I’m posting it to myself for sure!  Only when you go to the depths of the website and dig out more information you find this:

“Lite Plan

Lite Plan means there is no Insured Delivery or Item Inspection service included.

Please understand that with Lite Plan, you are not eligible for the following services:

Receiving refunds in the event that your item(s) is delivered damaged, different from the auction/shopping page or different in quantity

Receiving refunds or requesting a claim/investigation in the event that your item(s) is lost during shipment

Contact the seller

You are highly recommended to apply for Standard Plan if you would like to be eligible to the above mentioned services.”

So honey, they’ve got it all covered from step one. As you are bidding for your stuff, they’re already saying that they can make claim to any of your shit that you pay for. 

There is absolutely nothing stopping them from stealing the things they like the look of, while also making you pay for everything. 

I know how exciting it is to buy things and bid on things and get things! Trust me, I’m with you on that! But in addition to the above, Buyee has a shitton of charges that they keep on adding and adding, so even if you think that you’re getting a bargain, you’re probably better off getting things on ebay or an import shop - not even kidding. After I added up the costs, it would’ve been cheaper for me to just get it from physical store at like a 50% markup :/ 

The charges and mistakes:

- initial service fee, 500 yen - Plan fee - varies but you get the idea that if you “cheap out” on the Lite Plan, you won’t get your goods - Consolidation fee - when they put stuff you ordered in one box.. - 1000 yen - VAT + TAX charges added on top - Ludicrous shipping fees - I have travelled a lot, and I know that you can ship a 66lbs/30kg box via sea mail for less than $80... But Buyee charges anywhere between $120-$250, I guess as they feel like? - Miscalculating weight of the box. I am a stickler for things, so I add things up carefully, based on their own numbers that they provide on the website, and calculate the fees using the calculator provided on their website. Then I get slapped with insane shipping fees for a 37lbs/17kg box, which arrives and everything says it’s 20lbs/9kg....  - If you want them to check that the item is not damaged - that’s a fee - They can take photos of your item, for a fee - You want them to hold your item for more than 30 days? - Daily fee - If you want “protective packaging”, that’s another 1,500 yen on top of everything! - I had a bizarre email to change the value of the package?? because it returned to their warehouse after I already paid the shipping fees and they have confirmed everything. Turns out they’ve misclaculated something again, and charged me another $60 on top. 

- Obviously, think about the customs duty you have to pay when your goods arrive in your country, which leads me onto my next point: - Miscalculating the cost/ incorrectly filling out customs form. I paid $60 customs for something that cost me $30 in total. How? Because Buyee slapped an incorrect price on the declaration. Again, no refunds or complaints pls

After going on review sites I’ve noticed a similar pattern. So unless you are ordering a single item, shipping it using airmail (DHL, EMS), and prepared to bear the costs - Buyee should be a pass. 

Anyway as my saga comes to a close I am looking at alternatives, but unless I find something less horrific I’m sticking to ebay. It’s not ideal, but at least there is some protection for you as a buyer. 

Beware, stay safe, don’t use Buyee.

Virginia hummed in agreement again, and the two sat in comfortable silence for almost a minute, as Virge finished painting Pat’s nails. Once she was done, the pigtailed girl looked over her hands appreciatively.

“Yay! Now my nails are your favourite colour and your nails are mine! It’s perfect!” Patricia giggled, beaming.

Her girlfriend gave her a small smile. “You’re adorable.”

Patricia giggled again, softly, a light blush on her cheeks. She leant forward, careful not to smudge either of their nails, pressing a kiss to the tip of her girlfriend’s nose. Virge waited a few moments, watching her girlfriend adoringly, before she pounced, the shorter girl falling back on the bed, the taller almost on top of her.  

Pat spluttered with laughter as Virginia tickled her sides, the purple-haired girl grinning mischievously as she did so.

“Ah, Virge!” Patricia exclaimed between laughter. “You’re gonna- you're gonna make me mess up my nail polish!”

Virginia finally stopped the onslaught of tickling, pushing herself up so she was hovering over her girlfriend, and shaking her head to get her hair out of her eyes.  

Patricia wrapped her arms around her girlfriend’s neck, pulling her down to kiss her properly and closing her eyes.  

Virge kissed her back eagerly, her hands at her girlfriend’s waist. Pat’s lips were soft, as usual, and tasted vaguely sweet, like strawberries – she switched up the flavour regularly, so it was always a bit of a surprise. Virge’s lips, by contrast, were always slightly chapped, as she tended to chew them when she was especially anxious, but, in Patricia’s opinion, that didn’t make kissing her any less enjoyable.

“Ewwwwww!”

The two teenagers pulled apart immediately, their heads turning sharply to face the door, which was now open. Virginia’s eleven-year-old sister, Anne, was standing in the doorway, making a grossed-out face. She was wearing one of her sister’s old black-and-grey hoodies, and she had eyeshadow smudged under both eyes – she'd never admit it, but she was absolutely copying her older sister’s style.

“Get out my room!” Virge screeched, turning red. She sat up and grabbed one of her pillows, chucking it at her sister.

Anne dodged the purple projectile and ran off, laughing. “Mom, Virge and Pat are kissing again!”

“Leave them alone, Dear,” Emily half-scolded from across the hallway, though she was still smiling pleasantly. This was honestly the harshest she ever got with her daughters. She walked up to Virginia’s bedroom door and gave the two blushing teens a slightly apologetic smile. “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,” She teased, shutting the door.

“Mom!” Virge whined, before turning back to her girlfriend. “I’m sorry my sister’s such a brat.”

Patricia poked her shoulder teasingly. “Don’t be mean.”

Virge rolled her eyes, but pressed a reassuring kiss to her girlfriend’s forehead. “I’m not being mean; this is just what it’s like having a sister. Ask Regina or Rena, I’m sure they’d agree.”

Pat pouted a little at that. “I wish I had a sister. You’ve got Anne, and you’ll probably have Dee, too, soon.”

“You can bond with Logan about it, I guess,” Virginia shrugged.

The pigtailed girl gasped, her eyes brightening. “Logan can be my sister, then!” She pulled out her phone, careful not to mes sup her nail . “I’m gonna go tell her, right now.”

a vancouver native, her mother died giving birth to nicole, so the only family she’s known her whole life are her siblings, who she’s fiercely protective of, and the father she refuses to have any sort of authentic relationship with due to his sporadic absences. just a few months after her thirteenth birthday, papa potter up and moved their small family across the continent to a trailer park in california, where he left them at unannounced times to fend for themselves. while it wasn’t an ideal situation by any means, in a way it gave nicole purpose; taking care of herself and helping take care of her siblings as she matured. not to mention the added responsibility they all shared in paying rent and surviving in general.

while she picked up the odd job at a convenience store or gas station as a teenager, the eldest potter girl had a fascination with the dark web. at a young age, she was incredibly adept with programming and knowing the innards of computers in general, and the internet was like her playground. it started off very innocent, scamming people across the globe to deposit money into her account ( whether it be out of pity, infatuation, or sheer stupidity ). but after toying with malware and developing her own cryptic coding techniques over the years, nicole became something of a little hacker, which is now her main source of income for the family. posing as a cam girl, she coaxes the information needed out of her  ‘ clientele ’ before springing an unforeseen attack on them. she doesn’t completely drain their accounts ( unless they’re disgusting pigs and she’s feeling spiteful ), but she certainly walks away with a large chunk from their savings.

in school, she did absolutely stellar with her grades but “didn’t fully apply herself” according to the majority of her teachers, who frankly weren’t incorrect. nicole didn’t give a shit about her education, deeming high school as a ploy to train young minds to live by the same routine, day in and day out, once they graduated and moved onto the real world. however, despite her practiced skill in technological stealth, she couldn’t exactly bring in all this money without everyone in her small neighbourhood growing suspicious of the formerly poor potter’s newly formed middle class wealth.

sO homegirl ended up applying to university anyway, getting accepted into nyu with a computer science major. she packed up her shit at the age of nineteen and moved across the country into the apartment complex she’s now been residing in for a little over five years. of course, nicole still pulls some trickery online with her faux cam girl stunt, but she’s genuinely enjoying school and the internship awarded through her program’s work placement.
